The data you copied, is it set to read only? If so that could be the reason the game tries to download the files again. So check the files.

As for a GPU, yes you do need it. It has happened that people who want to play but do not meet the system requirements can’t even download the game.

It’s a fast way, but not very fast and it will be expensive because you won’t have any mats stocked up yet.

According to the wiki the booster only applies to the xp gained by crafting, it does not count towards you leveling your char. Your char gets the normal xp dose so to speak while your level in crafting does get the bonus.

I believe this was put in later and that at first it did count towards both, so if that someone in LA did all this long ago, it might well be that he/she is not lying but doesn’t know about the change either.

So the 7 levels are actually accurate.

It counts days actually played, so not days that go by without logging in.

There can be a wait period up to about 30 minutes after the transfer, so allow some time before you log back in.

After that there is a 7-day cool down period before you can transfer again.

Sharing an account is not allowed. Do not do it. Only play on the account(s) that you yourself bought and registered to your email.

In Rata Sum are multiple portals, one of them leads you to the Applied Development Lab. That is your home instance and the node should be there when you enter the portal.

But you can’t transfer just one char, it will be the whole account.

If you decide to delete all your chars, keep in mind that any items you want to keep should go into your bank and soul bound items can’t be used by other chars.

Also the 1800 gems are if you transfer to a very high pop server, medium will cost 1000 and low 500 gems.

Have your tried this:

Delete the local.dat file
Deleting this file will cause you to lose your saved game settings but it should fix the problem.

The quickest way to do this is to:

Ensure your game is completely closed.
Hold your Windows Key and press ‘F’ to open your Windows Search.
Search for “local.dat”
It will be found and resides at:
“C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2”
Delete this local.dat file
Load up your game normally and see if the character can load properly.

If it is fixed then you will notice your settings are reverted to default. You should reconfigure your game settings once again to your preference.

It might still get fixed with and update like he suggested but we won’t know till we hear back about that.

Split stack problem!

Hello there,

OK. I am splitting stacks with alt+drag to an empty slot. But whenever i try to make a discovery in the discovery table, the stack appear as one again. I have tried to put them in bank, they appear again as one. And i can’t seem to be able to split stacks in the discovery panel. What am i missing guys.

The stacks you split, do they show up as separate stacks in your inventory bags?

Because the discovery window does not actually show separate stacks at all. For example, I have 5 mithril ore in my bank and 5 in my inventory. My discovery panel will read 10, the total of both.

Is this what you meant?

Okay this might be a bit random, but I’m from europe. And well I have friends who are from the USA. Where does this lead, well….

For me 1600 gems are 20 euro(in game) and guess what for someone from the USA they are 20 dollar(in game). Last time I checked the conversion from euro to dollar was:

1 Euro = 1.3647 U.S. dollars

So what are you guys doing? Because either the gems are for europeans to expensive compared to the dollar or the gems are too cheap for the US dollar users.

Aside from this difference and how that all works (no clue), I’m from Europe too.

And I buy my gems for € 21,99 per 2000. I have not been able to get 1600 anywhere for about a year and that was when actual physical stores still sold cards (in a box!).

It really depends on where you get them and that has a risk, cause the online store I buy at is not an official (supported by Anet) retailer. Still I have never had any problems with the gem codes and the price is nice!

Longer answer: To explain this you need to know how a database work. Each entry in a database has a unique identifier. This identifier is the name of your full record at arenanet. This is your account ID. The only way to change your accountID is to delete your entire record and start a new fresh one. This will result that all kind of things like support history, purchase history, chat history, etc will be lost. So it is something that is very undesirable. the only exception is when your account id is even more undesirable then the side effects. So if it is a violation of the naming policy, you get a forced change (Support determines the new one accountID) and a mark on your new ID for bad behaviour.

Also, I am not from support/anet. So saying “your support system” is not accurate. (although I might have misread that comment, not sure!)

I’m just telling you how it works, shrug. An ingame bug report does get looked at but will never give you a response, that’s just how it is.

Get a different weapon, there must be a merchant nearby, get something else and equip that or just map travel to get out of there. Just having no weapon does not make you stuck.

I agree that things sometimes are just not clear.

In fact, these are the only games where I feel comfortably to just say “check out the wiki!”.

Normally the wiki (or similar) would seem like a cheat, but there is so much going on here that research is kinda like home work. And I actually like that, not knowing and having to find out.

Don’t give up yet though, like I said it can’t get worse.

I now see that my personal experience trying to create a darker char is purely based on aesthetics and that I tried it on an Asura… And for me that just didn’t look good.

There are some gorgeous chars in this thread that prove me wrong (although that is not the point).

I did like reading that indeed a lot of male players like to have female chars
To me totally understandable, I prefer female chars too, grin.

They are unique items as their stats state. Unfortunately that means you can only equip one at the same time.

Wait for support to reply and make sure to also check you junk mail! But I don’t think you will get a refund, it’s best to stick with worst case, that way it can only get better.

There are options however to transmute the duplicate so you could still use it.

I have had unlocked boxes that I saved up. Reason I did that was because I had a lot of “clickythings” saved up to just have a go at them all at once.

No real rhyme or reason, but I did have fun during about 40 minutes clicking the hell out of everything and it actually made me feel less stressed.

I’m looking into if this is something we can solve game-wide. I don’t think it’s a change we’d do to just one bank but if the game solution can happen that should help. (just takes a little longer)

That is good news!

If it could be implemented as you suggest it should solve a lot of these issues. I bet that there are many more of us in this situation, it’s just that I personally have only seen it mentioned on the forum twice.

Yes, if deleted it will be gone and you will have to buy it again.

That is one of the reasons why it is important to get info before doing anything.

Please keep in mind though that you are going against ToS by logging into your kids accounts (or the other way around if all accounts belong to you yourself). I totally get that you’re a parent, but be careful.

You can combine the scraps by putting them in your inventory and double clicking them.

That is, if you have enough scraps to form a ticket.

And yes, scraps only drop from black lion chests.

If you want to keep the look, yes. (Based on how I read the “seems like a lot of work” post. Multiple transmutation while upgrading all stats and levels.)

But you could always store the bought armor you have now and decide to transmute them later. But that would mean going with a different look and more based on stats.

Just keep in mind that if you do get to level 80 armor and the bought armor is still of a lower level, your will still need the Crystal to transmute them, one for each piece of armor.

Then you will need transmutation stones. They are there to keep the look of in this case your bought armor and combine them with the stats or another armor piece that has better stats.

Those transmutations stones drop after you completed an area, or from completing your dailies and you can buy them with gems.

They work up until level 79 armor, level 80 armor can only be transmuted with transmutation crystals, also from the trading post or as a really rare drop

I don’t think it actually has anything to with actual skin color.

I’ve tried making a dark char a couple of times and to me it just looks wrong. Depending on the lighting it can make a char look so dark that details are just not viewable.
Anything bright shows up way better.

Kinda like how I see male players having more female chars (also no offense meant!) cause they are nicer to look at.

Normal map chat can get “loud”, add world chat and it will never ever be quiet again.

Yes there would be an off button but if you do chat in map(world) chat, there is no way you’d be able to follow a conversation.

Seems like the hacker has access to your friends email account to. That password needs to be changed as well.

Your friend needs to contact support again asap and add a new or other email address, so support can look into this.

Your friend needs to give them as much info as possible.

If this does happen, you can get your account and chars/items back (not from a guild bank).

It is called a rollback and you can get only one per account! So if you were to get hacked again, you could get your account back but not your chars/items for a second time.

It means you only have one armor piece with that rune on it.

If you get another and put it on a second piece of armor it will read 2(2)

You buy a skin and you can apply that once. After that the only way to keep it is by transmuting it onto another item that has better stats.
To do that you will need transmutation stones and if the armor is level 80 you’ll need special ones..

So in short, to keep the look you will have to do a transmutation.

Why can’t you click on anything? Is the server you want to get into full?

Also allow at least 30 minutes after you logged out for the changes to be applied. It sometime takes a while before you can select a new server, so for now log out and wait for a bit.
