Looking at some answers, I’m not sure if everybody has grasped the purpose of the thread.
OP is not trying to nerf farming at all, just put an end to the unfair mechanic where the scaling system, trying to balance the event for a large amount of people, ends up generating more loot sources and makes the event more profitable than if a lower amount of players would be taking part on it.
The drop rate for loot should not be affected by number of players at the event. If an enemy has a 50% drop rate when 1 person is there, it should have a 50% drop rate when 100 people are there.
its not an overflow map.. you will join the an instance.. when that instance fills up.. then a new instance will be made and all new players will join that instance and so on.. there is no set server overflows.. since its all servers
The original design was for it to be like an overflow map. However, they didn’t want it to be inaccessible to people on low activity WvW servers so they didn’t make it to where you had to be in a queue for WvW to be put on the map.
It’s not really designed to have equal numbers on each side or be evenly matched.
Neither is WvW itself. If you want balanced fights against other players you have to go to pure PvP.
I don’t agree with the concept, but not all the details.
- Transmutation charge???? Use them and you won’t have to deal with them. Why do you keep them in your inventory?
- Geode and Bandit Crest, i’m split. I wouldn’t be split if they add more use to them. Especially for Bandit Crest. You can’t buy much stuff with those Crest.
- WvW Tournament Tokens. That I agree with. You will earn them on a regular basis at each season.
Queens Gauntlet Tickets : That was a time limited event. You can delete them or keep 1 stack of 250 if you want. No need to a place on the wallet.
Bauble and Bauble Bubble : Maybe if they leave SAB permanent. But seriously you can transform Bauble into Bauble Bubble and who have more that 250 of those without using them?
Black Lion Ticket Scrap & Black lion ticket : Do you have more than 250 of those? It take 2 space in your bank, no need for a place in the wallet.
Lockpicks (Zepherite, Bandit and whatever new ones we get) : Don’t agrre at all. Use what you have, no need to accumulate them to buy something.
Some people do this thing called saving up. Or don’t know what they want from the vendor. And from what I’ve read, some of the vendors have items that cost more than 250 of the item or are in craft recipes that call for more than 250 of them.
Or they don’t want anything now, but may at a later time.
And I for one, haven’t used a single Transmutation Charge. Heck, I never used them when they were still stones and crystals and did take up a spot in the bank/inventory.
And some people completely and utterly hate separate tutorial sessions.
I for one vastly prefer learn the game while playing the game and not be force fed skills in a tutorial. And I can’t imagine I’m the only one.
Not to mention, the character creation is a major selling point so no to locking that behind a tutorial.
Put them in with the crating mats and let vendors access it. Also stop having things cost more than a stack of mats to make.
That doesn’t solve the issue either as the crafting mats can only hold 250 of an item without gems being spent. And not everyone wants to spend gems to expand collection storage. Wallet has an unlimited amount it can hold as far as I know.
Right now we’re sort of splitting out things you can “spend” between three different places: Your inventory, your bank, and your wallet.
At its core, we need to decide on one of these to compliment your inventory and call it good. As we’re continuing to introduce more items like the geodes and bandit “hello my name is” crests, this has obviously become even more of an issue
Ultimately, we either need to let you spend materials from your bank directly at vendors so you don’t need to keep them in your inventory (and then make geodes/crests materials) OR continue to make the wallet larger and larger. Or option #3 we haven’t considered yet you might think of in this suggestion forum!
Either way, we’re aware of the need and will address it “when it’s ready™”.
My vote: anything that is used only as a currency needs to be put in the wallet.
Some people do not have room in their bank for it and some people have more than one stack of geodesic or lockpicks. Which is why there are threads asking for it to be put in the wallet. If bank tabs were usable for this for 99% of people, we wouldne have as many threads on this with complete support of the idea of them being added to the wallet.
Settle it with loot quality not quantity. The more people in the immediate area the lower the quality of loot the fewer the people the greater the loot quality.
Now your zergs will be smaller.
And then map chat will be toxic with people telling others to go away because they were there first and the person just caused the quality of loot to go down.
No thanks.
The Maize Balm farmers and the Kill Achievement farmers have issues being civil to each other when both are on the same map.
Most events that scale up that have adds have increased time for completion.
Assume 50% of foes will drop loot.
So let’s say 20 people and 10 foes takes 30 seconds. That’s 5 drops. That’s 0.1666 drops per second. Or 10 drops per minute
Current scaled up conditions: 50 people and 25 foes and lets say that takes 40 seconds. And 12-13 drops. That’s 0.3 to 0.325 drops per second. Or 18 to 20 drops per minute
Your proposal: 50 and 25 foes. Still takes 40 seconds, but I only get 5 drops. That’s 0.125 drops per second. Or 7 to 8 drops per minute.
Why do I mention rate? Because zergs that deal with content with adds rarely stick together just for that one event. They typically are on a train. Jumping from one event to another.
And that rate of drops would affect how profitable a farm is. And that’s what zergs do in PvE areas. They’re groups of farmers. Unless it’s one of the world bosses, but they don’t spawn adds that drop loot a majority of the time and when they do, it’s reported to be champions which drop champion bags at a 100% rate if they’re coded to drop loot.
And the zerg will go to the farm with the highest loot to time ratio (as that correlates typically to a gold to time ratio) as long as it’s relatively easy.
You’re not solving the problem by nerfing loot for zergs. The only way to solve the problem is to make everything have the same gold to time ratio. That’s the ONLY way.
So my Elementalist isn’t supposed to be able to burn, chill, cripple my foes unless I spec for condition?
No thanks.
Every class should be able to do everything to some degree. Spec’ing for something should only make you better in that area. Not give you the ability to do that. Not for this game.
And people will still figure out what the new meta is and then that will be what is required for speed runs in dungeons.
There will always be a meta and it will likely always be whatever has the highest DPS. Because ANet does not want a party to have to wait for a specific class or build to be able to do anything in this game. Which means everyone has to be able to do everything to some degree. And if you change that, you’ll drive a lot of people away from the game as it’s one of the bigger selling points of the game. That you don’t have to wait for a healer or a tank or whatever.
Killing all of the farms out in open world PvE will drive farmers to dungeons. Then the maps will be deserted. Undoing the reason for the megaserver. To keep maps populated.
Who said anything about killing farms?!
Because the farms are where the zergs are.
They’ll still be getting good loot!
And they’ll still be rewarded for having more players!
The difference will be that when they have 10 players, they’ll be getting the rewards equivalent of 20, and when they have 50 players, they’ll also be getting the rewards equivalent of 20…I’ve repeated my self so many times in this topic that I could swear that you pretend to misinterpret my suggestion on purpose just to give me a headache.
I that’s the case, you’ve won! You gave me a headache!
Your suggestion is to lower the amount of loot a group gets if it does too much content together in a period of time.
If 20 people spawns 10 creatures and 50 people spawns 25 creatures, then my chances of loot should not be any different. If 50% of creatures spawn a drop, then I should get 5 drops with 20 people and 12-13 drops with 50 people. Period.
Just because I’m with others doesn’t mean I should get less chance at loot. Because that’s what your suggestion is.
Killing all of the farms out in open world PvE will drive farmers to dungeons. Then the maps will be deserted. Undoing the reason for the megaserver. To keep maps populated.

However, if you wish to appeal the decision, you must send in a support ticket.
I do feel that that will be a waste of your time and the time of Support given that the spelling of your character’s name is even censored on the forum.
So those not wanting to do the event by want to use a nearby waypoint that’s not within the event radius should be punished?
If those same people got killed in the event somehow, then I suppose so. If those people are just passing by, what’s stopping them from running away, getting to safety and out of combat and then WPing somewhere they want to be?
You did not read what I posted correctly.
Person on Map B wants to go to WP 1 on Map A. However, WP 1 on Map A is near an event, but not near enough that it would be contested due to the event. Should THEY be punished and not be able to go to WP 1 because there’s an event nearby?
Because WP’s that are already pretty much on top of any event are already locked out to both participants and non-participants of events.
Your suggestion will just make things worse.
If the WP isn’t contested and you aren’t dead or in combat, then how does that pertain to what is being suggested?
If you are dead and you happen to be in that event, the options should encourage others to rez you.
And it takes an INCREDIBLY long time to rez someone who is fully down. Meaning it takes another person out of the fight.
It’s much better to just let the person WP to a nearby WP so that they can actually actively participate again. Open world isn’t dungeons. They do not need to be treated equally because they are two different things.
WP zerging isn’t a problem in the open world. You’re making a solution to a non-existent problem.
And did you miss the part where I said WORD doesn’t recognize it as an actual word?
Fully aware of what a homophone is.
I hope so, too. However, there’s not much either you or your wife can do to speed things up.
The only thing your wife can do to speed things up is to close down the 3 other tickets she made. Multiple tickets slow the process down not only for your wife, but for everyone else who has submitted a ticket as well.
Just have her respond to the automated responses that they were duplicates and can be closed.

Yea, it does, because the “homophone” is not a word. Word puts a squiggly red line under it. Google automatically searches for the word that your name is a “homophone” to.
So I guess we both know what you meant when you named your character what you named it. And you shouldn’t be surprised that someone reported it.
Yea, I think you’ve just found out why you have to rename your character. If it has a word in it that the forum censors, you should be able to figure out why you have to change your character’s name.
And your wife’s ticket is not any more important than those who are in line waiting ahead of her.
Support will get to it when her number in line has been reached. You can post again here in 2 days to get someone to look at it if no one has responded.
They do have customer support.
They are just human and can only work so fast through tickets. And they go in order they are received. When your wife’s ticket reaches the top of the list, it will be addressed and not sooner.
However, if 3 days go by with no response, you may post the ticket in the stickied thread above again. Because if they let anyone post in that thread people would make a ticket, and then immediately ask for it to be looked into. And that’s not realistic.
You left one game, tried something new and didn’t like it.
Now you are back to the game you were not satisfied to begin with and praise it?
Sometimes I have a hard time to understand people…
OP didn’t say why they left GW2 at the time. Maybe they had burnt themselves out on GW2. And now a year later OP isn’t burned out. So they are enjoying the game again.
JaysterElim, Support doesn’t have a million employees. There are only so many of them for the numerous tickets that get put in.
She should have received an automated response from Support. If she hasn’t, please see this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Not-Getting-Our-E-mails-Hotmail-Yahoo-Gmail-Comcast/
(Posting here as well, not sure how to go about this)
I and my wife are very disappointed with the situation that happened.
Ticket number: 1020220
Our issue started on Thursday, my wife ended up buying herself gems and her brother, and also bought me gems for a Christmas gift.
However, it started to not let her make a transaction, the next day the bank contacted my wife and she had to verify her purchase. Everything went smooth, until she tried to log into guild wars, it told her that her account has been suspended and to please contact support. so she did…4 times, Yesterday! and still has not received a response. Is there a possible way somebody can please get to the bottom of this? This issue is getting very aggravating. My Wife did nothing wrong, and there is no reason for her account to be suspended. If we can get help, that would be appreciated.
And the reason i am writing on my account, is because she can not log on due to the account being suspended. Currently i am in Washington, but i am at home right now for holiday. I am in the same household as her.
Michael will only look into tickets that are 3 days or older. Her tickets aren’t that old and she needs to close down all but one ticket, I would close down all but the first ticket.
If she’s been suspended, she can’t post on the forums, I believe.
She just has to be the one to make the ticket and talk with Support, which is what the OP has said. That his wife made some tickets.
Have her close down 3 of those 4 tickets, they will slow things down.
And you have to realize that Support gets a ton of tickets every day. There is a thread stickied that is for tickets that have not had a reply for over 3 days. Close down 3 of the tickets, and in just over 2 days if you haven’t heard back, you can post in the stickied thread.
If it hasn’t been 24 hours since you last deleted the character, that’s why.
ANet has given your original account a 24 hour hold on the name.
This is an interesting idea. I’d love other feedback on this before taking questions to the dev team. (I’m sure they’ve thought of this, but there may be info to share on the subject.)
What do you guys think about auto-waypointing people (assuming after a certain period, of course) in the midst of specific types of combat encounters? And because I don’t think it’d work for every situation, can you specify which combat instances you believe would benefit from this functionality? Somehow I think dying to a rampaging bandit in Ashford wouldn’t count.
Crovax — I hope you don’t mind, but I changed “bad” to “downed” in the subject. It just seems better (and more relevant) that way. S’ok?
I think it should work opposite.
There should be NO waypointing at all, disabled in that area (only allowing you to WP somewhere far away/off the map) and dead players should just not be taken into account by the servers as alive players in these events. I say this because dungeons were changed to disallow WP zerging as that’s an unhealthy strategy.
So those not wanting to do the event by want to use a nearby waypoint that’s not within the event radius should be punished?
Those that die have to remain dead for the whole event or risk losing access to the chest because it will take them too long to run back? Or they don’t have any nearby waypoint on that map?
Dungeons are not open world. Most of those events are zergs. Waypoint zerging does not make a huge difference for open world events that draw zergs.
Because if you make it for all events, you’ll lock out most waypoints most of them. If you limit them to world bosses, then waypoint zerging doesn’t really make a huge difference in the scheme of things.
Your solution will likely just make the issue worse. Those that would WP to a nearby WP will now just lay dead because it will take too long to run back and they risk losing loot.
Killing all of the farms out in open world PvE will drive farmers to dungeons. Then the maps will be deserted. Undoing the reason for the megaserver. To keep maps populated.
They’ll figure out what farm has the best drops per minute after the limit is reached and just zerg farm that. It won’t get rid of zergs. It will just change their location possibly.
And farmers and farmers in high zerg level quantities are good for the game. They keep the prices of mats and armor and weapons on the TP low for people leveling up characters in the game. Especially new players who do not have a boat load of gold, silver, or copper to throw at getting good gear or mats to craft things.
The zerging and farming of one area is because most areas have abysmal return of investment. The solution is NOT to nerf rewards again, but to buff the rewards of other activities. To the point that any event, any boss, when you compare, time, difficulty, and rewards, has the same relative amount of award. That will spread the zerg out because the best rewards are no longer just in one event or boss, but all of them.
Nerfing current rewards will likely only make the situation worse. Temporary farmers who are only farming for a specific reason (typically money to get things for a legendary or other high price item) will have to farm for a longer time to get to their goal instead of reaching it quickly and then moving on.
ANet has a history of nerfing farms. But nothing they’ve tried has worked. Farms were initially in Orr. ANet wanted the players to spread out over more of the map, so they nerfed the Orr farm and allowed for drops to include loot appropriate for player level and not just map level. Then the farmers went to dungeons. But that’s not what ANet wanted. ANet didn’t want the players to be only in the dungeons. So ANet limited the rewards you could get from dungeons. The farmers moved to world bosses. ANet then nerfs world bosses because ANet didn’t like how players just sat for hours at the next boss location waiting for it to spawn. So they nerfed the world bosses. Then came the Queensdale champion train. That got nerfed as well.
See how nerfing zerg farms doesn’t get rid of zerg farm, just moves the zerg farm around? That’s what your “solution” will do – it will cause the zerg farm to move to a new location most likely. The zerg farmers know they can’t split up enough to fall under the zerg level for greater diminished returns. So they’ll just calculate the best place to zerg farm based on the greater diminished returns.
Nope. No one can claim any area as an area for just one type of play.
The Maize Balm farmers and the kill achieve farmers have to share.
People who kill everything just to spite the Maize Balm farmers are in the wrong (this is hard to prove unless their vocal on top of it). The Maize Balm farmers who get toxic over kill achieve farmers killing creatures are in the wrong.
All players should be able to reach max level.
Due to down scaling leveling past 80 would be pointless under method. You’d just be down scaled back to level 80.
And no easy button for making Ascended or Legendary. It needs to be about the same amount of time, money, and effort for getting either tier as they currently are.
I did not think about the down scaling so yes that would be an issue. As far as legendary is concerned this is by far a harder path to it. Please look at the link to see an idea of how long it would take to complete.
But once you’re at max level, you’re at max level. Which only requires crafting one legendary. By that point you also have crafts maxed so making ascended gear is a LOT cheaper than getting another legendary. Sorry, it’s still an easy button.
So you guys want Gaile and the few other community employees to interrupt the devs to figure out what they can or can not tell us? What is the definition of important? Everyone thinks their thread is important or they wouldn’t have posted it. Is it number of posts? People will bump their threads to meet the post count needed. Is it number of threads related to the issue? Which thread gets posted and some.thing posted a lot aren’t things ANet plans to add, such as mounts, at least not to the degree that those who wants mounts want them.
And they do post in the contested threads on occasion.
I sell rares that are below the current TP value of ectos. I salvage if below since I currently need ectos.
I will likely sell all non-sceptor exotics and save sceptor exotics for sticking in the mystic forge. Work towards both methods to get a precursor. I expect to get the gold before I get a mystic forge drop. And I am only talking drops, I will not buy exotics to stick in the mystic forge.
But that’s just me. And I’m a long way from getting everything else I need for the legendary. And I’m not in a rush to get it.
My only slight complaint is how we are only talked to a small handful of people at Anet, i think it would be awesome if some of the people directly working on some of the different content actually talked to us for direct feedback instead of being funneled through other devs.
Would you rather they talk to us or work on the content?
The ones who routinely talk to us are not the devs. They have to go interrupt the devs to get answers to our questions.
We do get the rare dev talking with us on rare occasions and that’s likely when they’re on a break or off for the day. They likely don’t have time to respond to threads on the forum when they are supposed to be working.
I’ve got a Razr Naga. I have small hands. It works great for me.
And when I say small hands, I mean small hands. Tiny mice designed for portability with laptops do not make my hand uncomfortable while using them.
If you have any gaming friends see if they have any mice they aren’t using (that still work of course) and see if they won’t let you borrow it or let you buy it off of them.
That’s how I got mine. My brother had gotten a new mouse and didn’t need the one I’m using anymore. I couldn’t afford to shell out money for a mouse that may not work for my small hands. So he let me try it out and then it became a birthday or Christmas present.
Why do threads like these get immediate attention by anet but then other threads with serious issues get ignored
Because they don’t have to go ask a dev, “Hey, what’s the likely hood X will happen?” or “What’s the progress on Y?”
Gaile doesn’t have to ask a dev, “Hey, can a post a thanks on a thread that thanks us?”
It’s not like it takes an hour to write a short post.
i dont think the premise of the thread is sound
gaile posts everywhere and quite often pops in to tough threads and asks for more info
Yep, they do sometimes pop into the tough threads. But our tendency to bite their heads off when they post something we don’t want to hear is why we probably don’t see more.
Then there is the whole issue with precursor crafting. It was mentioned by an ANet employee, WAY before it will enter the game. And now people throw that at them every time they discuss broken promises. Because it’s not as easy as coming up with recipes and putting them in game for crafting. There’s the economy that has to be considered and what the effects of adding in precursor crafting will do to the precursor cost on the TP as well as the cost of the items used to make it. And it’s likely not an easy solution.
All players should be able to reach max level.
Due to down scaling leveling past 80 would be pointless under method. You’d just be down scaled back to level 80.
And no easy button for making Ascended or Legendary. It needs to be about the same amount of time, money, and effort for getting either tier as they currently are.
Maybe because they don’t have an answer that they can share for the tough to solve issues and when they ask the devs, they devs aren’t close to answer to the issue or the issue is a low priority for the company and they don’t know when they’re even going to be able to look at the issue.
Or the really tough to solve issues are the highly contested ones and any response unless it’s what the majority of players want to hear will be responded to with a negative response.
Example: the traits thread
“Sorry, we don’t have any new information on what they are planning with traits.”
“Oh, they aren’t working on traits? Don’t they know we hate how it has affected the game?”
“Yea, it’s been over 6 months, surely they have tossed around some ideas for how to deal with it. Why can’t they just change the traits slowly? Why do they have to wait for a complete solution to every part we don’t like? Why can’t they do it piecemeal where possible?”
“Why was the NPE put into place based on the traits scale when you know we didn’t like when traits got unlocked? So will the NPE change when the traits get changed?”
And if they had a solution to the issue, it wouldn’t be posted in that thread, it would likely be posted in the patch notes. Because that’s how limited ANet is when discussing things they are working on.
But every player has the auto run button. Not every player has the macro. Nor can they be expected to have the macro. Analogy does not work.
Smoother combat is advantageous. I get that the OP is not wanting to use it to be better at combat than others, but ANet can’t allow one person to use an advantageous macro but not others based on what the person says. Everyone would lie to say that it was for some disability. Which would cause ANet to have to not believe anyone who said it was fora disability which would end up in the same situation as it is now.
I’d be very very very wary about using any macro/overlay that messes with combat. And a macro/overlay that’s called Combat Mode strikes me as one that messes with combat. That said, I don’t think ANet currently has any program that scans to see if macros are used and if so, what they are for so it takes getting reported to get banned. At least from what I’ve read, I could be wrong.
Unless you’re using a musical macro (the ONLY macro that ANet has said would not have action taken against), you have to use it under your own risk.
Because the Rules of Conduct say ‘20. You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2.’ The EULA says that violating the Rules of Conduct is grounds for a ban. So they choose to turn a blind eye to the EULA with regards to music macros. I would not assume the same for any macro unless ANet explicitly names it or the type of macro/overlay that it is.
However, the EULA does still state no macros. Use the macro at your own risk. The only comment on the posted thread was that CS does not intend to punish those players using a macro to play instruments. You’re not asking to play an instrument. I would personally be wary of any macro that would have an effect on actual combat.
They can’t officially approve any macro.
I will leave the game if they give special things to subscribers.
If you want to support the developers on a monthly basis, buy gems each month. There. You’re supporting the developers. No need to add in a subscription service.
You do realize that no one objected to the method or the stat switching or the sigil/rune switching?
It was only the damage increase that people objected to.
But legendary gets upgraded to match the best weapons so it would get the same ability right off the bat. So you would likely get to choose what the other sigil/rune sets are (we’ll likely one day have legendary armor most likely).
I know if i misundersrood them i appologize and if i didn’t make myself clear enough then i need to work on my english^^. Legendary weapons/armor/trickets will be every build in one set but with a huge price tag. But how would you intergrade this idea then? A new piece of armor with no damage increase so that we have some QoL to clear out our inventory.
Cheers,
The large cost of gold and time for the legendary is why it gets the upgrades for free. It’s why it got the Agony Resistance slots added when the Ascended tier was added and why it got the damage increase (it was originally the same base damage as exotic).
If it’s supposed to be between ascended and legendary, then it can’t have any damage increase. Legendary and Ascended have the same base damage.
And any damage increase above Ascended levels will send those of us who gave ANet the benefit of the doubt on their reason for adding Ascended armor and weapons packing. ANet said they added Ascended gear because they felt that players got Exotic weapons and trinkets too quickly as compared to legendary weapons.
ANet said in their manifesto that they would not have a gear treadmill in the game. 1 new tier doesn’t make a gear treadmill by itself. A new tier that has some QoL improvements that doesn’t have a huge price tag, would likely not cause most players to run as a lot have asked for the ability to switch sigils/runes. Your method would be a way to add that in with the ability for players to choose what sigils/runes they want as well as add in something that’s a throwback to GW1. In GW1, you got the special legendary weapons by doing special missions.
I think it’s just the wording of the OP.
If I’m not mistaken, the suggestion isn’t to add stats to each other but to add options to the dropdown.
It would be exactly like legendaries, but would not include every nomenclature. Just up to (5) depending on which items you merge.
For example 1 berserker legging + 1 rabid legging = 1 mystic legging which can be either berserker or rabid.
If I’m not mistaken. Or is that “mystaken.” (Ba da chh!) Yeah go ahead and shoot me now
The original post does say 185% damage increase. Which would be a base stat increase. OP did say however that the amount was up for debate and OP would not be opposed to a 0% damage increase based on posts made later on.
Absolutely not.
You want gear treadmill there are plenty of other MMO’s that offer that.
Guild Wars has made one of its premises being that it was relatively easy to get max stat gear, it was rare skins that was to be the challenge. This makes PVP a more even playing field
Anet already did its appeasement of the World of Warcraft gear hamsterwheel crowd with ascended. That was ENOUGH of a betrayal of the MMO manifesto. We don’t need that to be a regular thing, most people don’t have full ascended gear especially not across all characters.
The treadmil is there with ascended your right but how many sets do you use on your main? I have a Rabid ascended Zerk Sinsiter and soldiers and (rampagers trew it a way and replaced it with sinsiters) . With my idea i can use my hard worked Ascended and fuse them with my exotics to be hald way legendary with 5 stat max to a armor so the gear treadmil that there would be is that one nededs to make a few exotic sets to fuse with their hard earnt ascended set.
1 new tier does NOT make a treadmill.
If the exotics were special exotics that you obtained by doing special missions and it only allowed for out of combat stat/sigils switching when fused with the Ascended gear and no damage increase, then I’d be fine with that. And allow for switching skin to the special exotic for free if they want (they can do it later, but it wouldn’t be free at that point).
There needs to be some work put into getting the switchable stats and sigil.
And they’d likely have to add a legendary mystic tier as well to give the legendary weapons the ability to switch sigils. Legendary did get the AR slot added when Ascended was released. PR would be horrible if they didn’t give Legendary weapons the ability to switch sigils but a lower tier has the ability.
It does break the current balance!!!!
Let’s say exotic weapon does 100 damage.
Ascended/Legendary (they are the same stat wise) version of the weapon does 110 damage.
“Mystic” would do 203-204 damage (185% of 110 is 203.5, and I don’t know how the game rounds).
So Mystic would do about DOUBLE the damage of Exotic. End game is supposed to be doable by people with RARES or EXOTICS. Your tier would trivialize end game content! Because ANet would not be able to balance out the enemies to take the increased damage!
No. They add in a tier above Ascended and I will leave the game. Permanently. No questions asked. No gear treadmill. Especially one that trivializes content and makes other tiers obsolete.
Like i said it doesn’t have to be more powerfull then ascended i can be the same no harm done. And how long does it take you to make 4 sets of exotic armor? You can make them with crafting buy them from tp or dungeons. You need to craft for the new stat combo’s like Noamd’s and sinsiters for example.
The damage is already done i do understand with the introduction of ascended we got a bit of power creep. My idea does not break the current balance it just adds QoL to someones invent. The fist one is my current invent the second after they add my idea ^^ A person has multible exotic armors and trickets for ones build. atleast i have on a few chars. And it makes ascended more wanted with the new upgrade to it.

IF (and it’s a big IF) they ever add a new gear tier, it should be an improvement over Legendary. What is “missing” from from the Legendary tier? I can think of two things:
a) The ability to swap sigils/runes without destroying the item or the sigil/rune
b) The ability to swap skinsBoth of the above can be achieved using Upgrade Extractors and Transmutation crystals, the next “tier” should do this for free.
Unless the next gear Tier is doing one of the above (or both) there is no reason to add another tier of gear.
And Legendary would be scaled to be above that because it is the Top tier. Permanently it is the top tier. It used to be the same stats as exotic. But when Ascended came out, it got a spot for agony resistance as well as a stat increase to match Ascended.
There is no reason to add another tier of gear to this game. They just need to rework the current tiers.
Not even legendary weapons are 185% more than ascended!
Legendary = Ascended stat wise. And that is only 10-16% higher than exotic. Your proposal would be 85% higher than ascended. End game is supposed to be doable by people wearing rares/exotic (except high end fractals which requires agony resistance).
You do realize that that would trivialize ALL content in the game that’s not designed for it. And anything designed for it would have to be an area that is not accessible by those without it (too easy for those not wearing it to get killed by it by sheer numbers even at maxed level). And ANet didn’t want areas to be off limits for players. You can get buy with masterwork/rare items in Cursed Shore and Frostgorge Sound, which most players would easily be able to afford by the time they are level 80 or they would have them already from drops or crafting.
Yes, a level 2 would die very easily in Cursed Shore, but it doesn’t go from doable to impossible instantly. And your idea would do that. Make the difficulty go from doable to impossible instantly.
