I started playing FF14 a few days ago and I’m having a blast. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative or secondary mmo. The last time I played the free trial I wasn’t into it, but this time around I’m hooked.
I Tried ESO during the beta. Things were very broken then, which ultimately led to me never trying it again. One of these days I’m sure I will though.
I just tried it today and yesterday..
It’s better, but still really really bland and boring overall.
Morrowind on the original xbox was just as fun if not better.
I work in a high-level IT infrastructure that caters to NA on an international level… I can tell you that bad management can absolutely disable productivity and progression in a company. The lack of communication on the forums, broken interaction between the game’s sub-systems, slow and otherwise inappropriate handling of bugs in the game really makes the notion that ArenaNet is a dysfunctional organization not too far-fetched.
For me, over the whole lifetime of GW2 so far.. I have spent this much money:
$60 for the original game, standard
$50 for the pre-ordered standard HoT w/ Beta access
About $550 worth of gems over the lifetime of my account, over the years in total.
To not include the price of the game and expansion, I have paid an average of $15 a month on this game, on top of the cost of the game… On skins, services, transfers, certain one-time only deals, content, and the occasional gem>gold conversion early on when making gold was somewhat impossible without dumping hundreds of hours a week to grind it out and abusing the TP.
With what they charge for the game, how much content they release (which is lacking) and given how much people actually spend on the game…
They are not doing us any favors. To white-knight and say ArenaNet is being generous with what they do choose to give us in terms of updates and releases is a joke
For example/proof… You can go to the Android/iOS top grossing app leaderboard wordwide and find one or two funny games at the top… Clash of Clans and Candy Crush
Please Read from Forbes Magazine:
“Finnish mobile game developer Supercell has reported revenue of $892 million for 2013, a significant gain on 2012?s revenue of $101 million. With just two games released (‘Clash of Clans’ and ‘Hay Day’), Supercell has seemingly cracked the winning formula in the mobile space.”
You know, for a mobile game that in total took 150 people to make and maintain, with content not even breaking 300 MB in total, and a development cost so far below that of GW2, they’re making bank
How?
Microtransactions
I want you to be serious with yourself and really ponder how many of your friends, guild mates, players walking past you in game honestly haven’t spent a single dime outside of the original purchase of the game.
Yeah. Don’t think ArenaNet is hurting for money, or can’t make revenue.
They’re slipping into the micro-trans ham-fisted culture of the new gaming era. All those skins? living world content? updates? extras? They are nickle and diming you for stuff they could have included in the expansion that they also charged you money for.
Blizzard offers all their WoW expansions, free 30-days game time, in-game bonuses like mounts and pets, even instant level 100 characters just to pay for the inital game (what is it, like $60 in total now and you get everything?) and just $15 a month. They roll out expansions 2x faster than ArenaNet, all with 2x the content… whether or not its good content is subjective.
So for those of you trying to white-knight and justify their silence and lack of support because its a “non-sub game hur durr… all of it is fwee!”— think again.
They took your money and gave you their 70%… and they’re asking for more of your money.
You okay with watching your favorite MMO fall to this?
This game has lost the little skill it had left imo. I’ll play and have fun. But this is the end of any competitive play this game had left. There is no skill at all. For example, one auto attack from an engineer can inflict around 8 stacks of bleed and 4 burns and other condis. Where is the skill and counter play to this? The only way to avoid damage reliably is to never get hit. Which is not viable because auto attacks happen all the time. Auto attacks doing 12k are not a good thing
Helseth is mediocre at best. Honestly having played vs all these people he is one of the worst of all the “esports” tryhards. People like ROM and Fraelina are much much better than him. They are capable of carrying games whereas helseth is honestly worse than a ton of wvwers I have fought against.

Mesmer was already brokenly good pre patch as a well played mesmer/thief team would beat anything else with ease.
Mesmer and thieves had their fun for the last 3 years. Give them a few years of not being highly sought after in pvp. Really….Proboably a reason this games pvp never took off as a competitive game is to do ei5h stealth. You are right there is no counter play. I think any aoe that hits a stealthed player should of revealed them. Either way its too late now. The games mechanics are pretty well set and i cant see this game becoming a serious competitive game
Thief is still op. Those saying not just used to get even more carried than currently by the class. So their skill level is lower than their mmr. As in their mmr should be lower based on their skill, so if thief goes from very op to just op then they think its hard.
Thief is still way more op than mesmer for example. Mesmer is just judged by lower standards than thief. Thieves expect to be op. Most other classes base their balance expectations around being balanced.
Thief is second only to ele in terms of opness
hahahahahaha
HAHAHAHA
AHAHAHA
got eem
Toughness>Vitality on a necro, because it also affects your resiliency in shroud. Therefore, the fake HP you can accumulate in shroud is just as hardy as your HP out of it.
Vitality will just give you a bigger buffer, and scale slightly to barely increase your max LF pool.
Back in 2012 I made a build that exploited this and used the old trait tree to max Toughness and Vitality stat bonuses plus Soldier’s gear to make Necro pretty unstoppable in PvE/WvW encounter. Somehing like 31k HP and 3100 total Armor was achievable.
If you get all the mastery points and over-level 100 more times, you should be awarded the title: “Masochist Above All”

bravo.
There are a lot of things wrong with HoT and the current state of core GW2 post-HoT that are.. just plain bad.
I, along with a lot of my friends, have put down the game for now. I log in daily for the daily reward, check mail, check guild to see if my favorite people are on, then log off.
I spent 5 minutes on GW2 today, and it didn’t make me mad, it made me sad.
I really used to enjoy the game. Now it’s just… awkward and clunky. dynamic events aren’t really dynamic anymore. Its an audiobook put on repeat, that you’re forced to re-experience over and over countless times just to fill masteries.. which are simply not rewarding. Given the lack of much needed patches and changes to the rewards all around the game, how it plays, etc… It’s not worth putting myself through as a “game” where you’re supposed to have fun. It’s just not fun.
GW2 has become a chore MMO. I stopped leveling masteries because there’s just nothing there for me, the player. It’s not a tool for progression, its a tool to time-gate the lacking content ArenaNet has given the players so they don’t immediately realize there’s nothing worthwhile in Maguuma. The story? meh. I only remember one character name. The raids? easy mechanics, but unforgiving windows for mistakes. It’s still “stack-here, go-there all together” battles. I’d even say WoW LFR raids are more enjoyable because of just the sheer amount of people involved.
PvP balance is nowhere to be found, despite the huge outcry for it to change both from the ESL Pro League players, the viewers on twitch, the forums, and Reddit.
WvW still remains the only shackle-free game mode, yet still needing changes— people accumulating 2000+ rank from the sheer hours being dumped there endgame, as opposed to playing the new content. (reminds me of 2012.. release year… before there were fractals or anything)
PvE is… someone please help this waste of money. Verdant Brink was enjoyable, until you realize how locked-in-place the repeating meta and adjacent map metas are, the ridiculous need to grind all the metas for enough XP to progress masteries so you can optimize your abilities to collect things in FashionWars2.
Maguuma is 1/3rd the size of Tyria, which for a 3 year in the making expansion is seriously lacking. Look at other MMOs and their expansions— areas just as large as the core map, if not bigger in some cases… what happened?
Armor sets almost nonexistent, instead thrown in the gem store because ArenaNet wants the money.
3 Legendary weapons introduced. Wow. That, and a couple backpieces. That’s what they had to offer?
Dungeons.. Dead
Fractals.. Grindy and lacking rewards.. on the way to having the same demise as dunegons
WvW.. mindless zerg endgame purgatory
PvP.. Mallyx Rev and Bunker Mesmer + 1 Ele meta, all used by the Pros.. game is “who can touch the caps first and sit there spamming auto attack and stability”
Huge chunk of players are stuck in Silverwastes farming gold because that’s the main thing to use these days for everything.. Heck, I have guildies who still haven’t bought HoT and are just there 24/7 because going in a circle opening boxes with F is the most rewarding content at the moment.
Hayseus Christo… what the hell happened to GW2?
TL;DR
OP wants mounts in game so he can grind faster
hates how slow walking really is
probably uses a segway irl
dude, you simply have to pick whether or not you want that 25% runspeed buff from one of the many sources we can get it from, or suck it up and use those traits/skills for stuff you want more.
and yeah, locust sig isn’t a waste. traited it can corrupt boons, siphon health, have low cd, and hit for ~5-6k if you’re in a hairy teamfight. hardly a waste.
Why should free-to-play get access to elite traits without paying for it? People still dont understand, GW2 is now pay to 2 play (or pay to win depends on your perspective) with HOT expansion release.
That’s rather a non-sequitur, wouldn’t you say? The OP is asking to use Reaper traits with Death Shroud, not for access to Reaper traits to be added to non-HoT accounts.
except the reaper traits are part of what you get for buying HoT.
sucks to be a mooch
Roses are red
Violets are blue

jesus that really sums it up for me
I’m sorry,
but as a person who has purchased the game at release, found ZERO content at endgame (no fractals at the time, living story was not here yet, you had Arah and WvW.) then a purchaser of the full-price HoT expansion, I have to say you’re wrong.
all this stuff is not “free”.
Thousands of us have paid for this game, and its expansion, expecting a certain level of completion and content that befitted the original $60+ price tag, and the $40-50~ expansion price tag as well.
You can compare ANY triple-A or even independent title release of the same price and caliber and find that A-net has been playing the “catch-up” game since the beginning. The reason why people are upset is because right now in the MMO market, we have GW2, WoW, and a slurry of other low-tier MMOs as the entire market offering. The content they are releasing in the priced packages they are offering is generally lower than their competitors, and these patches, updates, bug fixes, and balance efforts are things that should have happened before beta was closed. Where are the entire new multiple sets of armor? locked in the gem store, weekly released past the expansion release. Where are the new raids? Oh wait, the FIRST one is being released… post HoT release ….. in an update.
Not to mention the other wings of the raid are where, exactly?
You can walk through maguuma faster than you can walk through from one end of a biome to the end of the same biome in core Tyria.
New “specializations” have one trait line and a handful of new spells, after 3 years of the game being out.
I’m sorry, I’ve played games like EQ 1, Anarchy Online, D&D: [Blank], etc. And those IPs have delivered more content in each subsequent release than the entirety of core GW2 alone, without the need for microtransactions. That’s right, older MMOs have released entire continents worth of content in a single expansion pack and more, followed by the patches, updates, additions, etc. For a lot less than what you guys have been asked to pay for with GW2.
It’s a business platform, not a gaming platform anymore. They want $, not reputable fun.
Anet takes a while but they always seem to deliver.

He probably had his first 10 losses, got demoralized and demotivated, then continued to play at 60% of his game. Then continued to lose.
I’ve done that before, just take a couple hard losses that shouldn’t have happened.. then you just feel like kitten and keep losing because you can’t focus on winning.
27 hours a day
lol,btw a day has 24 hours,mindblown.
obviously you took things too literally to understand the exaggeration
I’m running a MM build and the amount of floating damage numbers above the mobs from my minions using the Vampiric traits is ridiculous- I can barely see my own damage. Is there a way to reduce this spam or separate it somehow?
Thanks all
have you tried this?
jk
Heh, i couldn’t be sure whether your crit rate was from Target the Weak curses trait… i was thrown off by the retaliation proc’ing on death shroud in your video and whether or not you were the source of your own fury uptime.
haha, here’s my best educated guess:
that’s some serious condition stacking
Hi everyone,
i just created my Necro and i’d like to receive advice for more experience players.
I main an Elementalist, both staff and d/d, and i’m trying to get a grasp on how the necro mechanic works.
this is my build for spvp right now:
i know it’s a litte bit squishy, i tried celestial amulet but the damage is very low, so i switched to marauder for more dps, but i die instantly in teamfights.
Should i try the Valkyrie amulet, or Crusader for more toughness?
lastly, which utility skills and weapons do you recommend?
Thanks in advance for your time.
the reason why cele feels like its low damage is because not all of our damage comes from just hitting things. chill, poison and dhuumfire are big wedges in the meta for necro right now, and while it may seem like you’re not hitting for much, the sustain and constant pressure is how you’re putting people down. Just pay attention to your ticks from the conditions you apply.
For a power based build, you can drop dhuumfire for death perception. with all the mobility and blocks/invuln/evades in game right now, generating LF with dagger in a competitive environment is difficult since its rare to get the full dagger chain to connect to targets.
Chill, cripple, weakness, and small amounts of blindness are our bread and butter for hampering opponents in PvP, given we have no active mitigation, but death/reaper shroud instead.
That being said, welcome to necromancer. coming from elementalist, its like stepping out of a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and into a coal powered locomotive covered in steel wool.
So elites are more powerful than classic builds for the most part. I reeally dont think it would be imbalanced for the Death Shroud to have access to the reaper trait line. I really want that 15% attack speed buff in DS for WvW
Do you mean that taking Reaper should add Reaper’s Shroud (using the same cooldown and Life Force pool as Death Shroud) as an F2 instead of overwriting Death Shroud as our F1 skill?
If so… I dunno. Part of the reason why Reaper’s Shroud is allowed to be so strong is because we lose access to Death Shroud as a ranged option. While the ability to pick between which to use on the fly would be nice, Reaper’s Shroud would probably have to be nerfed to compensate and I don’t want that.
I’m pretty sure he’s asking to keep DS but have the reaper traits modify DS as is. so, the 15% attack speed.
TL;DR OP wants DS 1 to auto attack faster because its slow.
I think people pick which trait suits them best. I don’t personally use banshee’s wail, as i’ll use the dagger trait or just locust sig to get around, or if im focused on killing people i won’t bother with swiftness at all. I don’t have a problem with how they organized it.
It took Anet years to change the traits and trait system, so I highly doubt they’ll consider this. It’s just not that important. I still miss the point system where I could flush into multiple trees for their goodies and stat bonuses, now i’m stuck with picking trait lines for both their “needed” traits and their “meh” trait baggage, without the bonus of stat flush.
I like condi reaper in WvW, in both zergs and roaming. reaper traitline is less useful in a zerg while roaming its paramount. swap reaper traitline out for whichever depending on what you’re doing: zerg vs. roam
nice vid, some awesome fights^^ would you mind sharing your build?
It looks like either rabid/sinister (i think rabid) gear with something akin to the following build:
I’m most likely wrong on one or two things, the runes could be undead/afflicted and as for sigils, the scepter I believe has the sigil of corruption. I’m sure geomancy is in there somewhere, but that can give you a gist of it to start
(edited by Sheobix.8796)
Can we agree that this is just a regular skill rotation and not a burst? I mean, of course this kills someone two and a half times, but so does literally any other class/build with zerker gear if their target stands still in front of them for more than 10 sec.
This. I think Necro players are so used to long cast times and extended fights that we just ignore the fact that other professions can burst 20k HP (though a really lucky Gravedigger+sigils and CoD can 100-0 squishies) in like half a second, which is probably compounded by the fact that we’re so used to massive HP that most traditional bursts don’t 100-0 us on their own.
agreed. Necromancers make up in sustained damage where other classes shine with more burst at the sacrifice of survivability. We bring the pain train and group support, which makes us one of the first people to get focused. Being able to constantly dish out those chills, AoE blind, interrupts, fear, etc. while putting down large hunks of damage while staying alive is the core of our class.
Only thing I disagree on with Sheobix is warhorn 4 being crucial. Lately, I wasn’t even attempting to break any revenant’s block because they had stability and/or resistance. And you can’t efficiently corrupt today’s rev: they start with 6 boons and can re-apply them in case you corrupt some.
Mesmers are less likely to have stability though.Usually, I don’t want to be in melee outside of RS, too many CCs, so instead of warhorn I’m trying focus. Life force generation with focus 4 is nice, and focus 5, albeit its cast time, is rather safe at long range and is pretty impactful when it lands.
You have to wear down their cooldowns first to get the advantage with interrupting block. Good revenants will keep that glint autobuff spam on lenient cooldown, a lot of players will try to use it as a wall or crutch, I try to hold out a bit on using my tools by putting on cc pressure and let them blow their damage on shroud before corrupting the boons. And a lot of times, if you break block, you can also get an interrupt on a followup heal attempt and them lock them down in reaper shroud, and pressure them with condis since they are usually in mallyx.. once you waste their condition consume heal you’re free and clear to put the hurt on them until its back up.
warhorn is pretty good imo, i find the utils on it better than the other two choices.
“Rekt Um Destroyer” favorite opponent in pvp
its not like warrior is a useless class just because its not top of meta. People can still play it, and it can still be troublesome.
Can’t you, pro players, protest ? Like both teams of each match refusing to fight ?
You could still have a winner by running internal matches to determine the team that will cap a point on stream. That would require trust, while there’s money to win, so I don’t expect much…
But I expect absolutely nothing from Anet for the next 2 months, and that’s just infuriating.
this! +1
CANT YOU PRO PLAYERS JUST GO ON STRIKE?! – all of you make an agreement and just demand a fix?
Anet is clearly ALL about the money so this will hit them the most – the kittening wake up call ANET !
+1
the finals arent over dude.. neither is the season.
The twitch stream was pretty depressing too… No professional conduct, players being late to the match, a meta so boring its just about who gets on cap first and denies all points because of this slow and bunkery meta. twitch chat was pretty bad too, everyone spamming how horrid the team balance was, all the pro teams abusing the rev/mes comps and such save for abjured, viewers making jokes about the whole game… this “e-sport” has become more of a farce than i’d ever seen
it’s garbage. Anet is not the company to make a good e-sport game, everything about the tournaments and the game balance is so… off.
also, the stream hosts’s commentary are not very constructive to the hype, since its all such a wash of skill rotation garbage on screen. They just state the obvious cap flips too late after caps get flipped.
then ruby divison would be the new emerald divison, except hotm lobby will have a bunch of crying ruby divisioners
idk, i played with pugmade friends trying to crawl out of emerald, then I strictly played solo q for a day and blew threw three tiers into sapphire. I guess my friends were holding me back or something, who knows.
Judging by the sticky stains on the wall..
why is this in the PvP forum?
nope, as i exclusively use the vanilla rabbit finisher.
rabbit finisher is meta
Crafting experience doesn't move the XP bar

Crafting never affected a mastery line. It increased leveling XP until you reached level 80, but not a mastery XP.
Um… but the main thing is that crafting gives a very specific thing: XP. That’s the same stuff that we get from kills, events, exploration, and story. If crafting doesn’t affect the mastery line, why should any of the other normal ways of obtaining XP work? Maybe we should only earn level XP from adventures! Uhoh, I said that aloud, didn’t I.
Well… beware the next patch. They disallowed crafting XP to give mastery line XP. Possibly because they wanted people to progress the mastery line by playing and not crafting. I’m sure some people would take a level 80 char, get the cheapest crafting to 400, take their next level 80 char and repeat, if crafting leveled a mastery line like it did crafting.
To be fair, it takes a very very very very dedicated crafter to get serious XP from crafting after hitting level 40 or 50. So if it’s going to take hours and hours on any/every character to get XP from crafting for mastery levels, why not leave it in? It’s obviously their preferred gameplay, so it’s not really cool to leave them out.
It’d even benefit the new business model, because dedicated crafters are probably some of the bigger spenders (bank tiles, money top-ups, etc). Killing/doing events doesn’t directly benefit the business model. =P
obviously you have never used gw2crafts.net
it takes me roughly 120-140 gold to craft a toon from level 10-80 in 4.5 hours.
By this same idea, I can use the 80 tomes of knowledge in my bank to insta a toon to 80, then use this same logic to craft every profession from 1-400/500 and you will have enough xp for 80% of all mastery points.
This is why they did not include it, silly.
In addition to what you said, using the fireworks buff adds 10% to any XP from crafting. Which is a fair amount as when it speeds up you get XP after XP, each of those increased by 10%. (I use the fireworks buff to increase the speed of leveling my key runner by crafting).
And then take a second char already at level 80 and repeat the crafting as needed.
Nope, I haven’t used crafting sites. I’m not a crafter – the most crafting I’ve done was to obtain a few ascended pieces of equipment (I think five in total).
Wow, that’s a lot of gold and a lot of XP. Anet wanted a gold/mat sink in their expansion, so crafting (alongside guilds and legendaries) would have been perfect.
And if you’re sinking that much time, money, and effort into crafting, then you’ve got just as much right to leveling as anyone else, really. If you still think it’s so easy, you do realize that mastery levels require significantly more experience points than level 80 (254,000 XP), don’t you?
also, you do realize that 254k xp doesn’t bring you from 1-80? that’s going 79-80.
if you take all the xp given from capping all xp professions, its probably somewhere around 10-14 mil xp? that’s enough to flush out all your tier 1/2 maguuma masteries and pretty much un-gate the majority of HoT content.
Repeat this process on all your toons, which a lot of us have like 5+ alts on average…
Its kind of obvious why anet made xp not total into masteries when you think about for 1 minute
It’s easy enough. Just donate a few supplies for repairs. Something like 5,000,000 planks, 10,000,000 ingots, 5,000 ectos, 1000 lodestones, 100 PvP potions, 25,0000 leather, 500 mystic coins and 500 T6 mats (per guild member) should be a good start.
I think you forgot to add another zero in there somewhere
If this doesn’t get patched tomorrow I’m going to be quite perplexed.
so we know what you’re gonna be tomorrow
this post has given me lots of aid..
some would say, it has given me the plural of aid.
if only there was a word for that….
or maybe the concept of divisons are.. as you get better, you starting winning consecutively, so you start progressing…. so you get to the next divison which is a milestone of your knowledge and skill in the game.
but i may be wrong, idk. I must be horrible at maths.
edit: holy cow, did you know there is an edit button? glad I found it instead of double posting
See how Spro Kett is leading the game?
Should roll a DH trapper and solo q. you’ll get div 3 by sundown
The solution is to remove all the skills in game but for three for each class:
autoattack
heal
1 block, on 240s/death cooldown
ultimate balance. It will be similar to rock, paper, and scissors.
balanced based on noobs… unbalanced pro play
balanced based on pros… qq noobs play
balance based on PvE skins… perfection
give everyone a tangible block bar so they can use skills to regen, reflect, etc. while mitigating damage and therefore making a necromancer class mechanic irrelevant… sounds good to me!
no.
Loving the reaper in all game modes. Very powerful, good self stab & mobility, and it offers a very engaging gameplay compared to necros. Signet reapers are also a lot more fun to play than baseline signet necros thanks to reaper shroud.
I’m getting a tad worried now however as in PvP, double condi rev & bunker mesmer meta is slowly pushing reapers out of the comps. Robert Gee, please look into boosting reapers as I’m sure you can see how reapers are fading out in the high end PvP scene.
or don’t boost us. because power creep. Just lightly down tune the condi revs and bunker mesmers.
the term Yoloq has been reserved for bunker thieves making their way to diamond divison
What really? Then all i need to do is change my build to the most complete and cutter r&p build possible to help lower my rating. Then when i enter map change it back? LMAO.
Awesome
yeah dude, worked for me. For necros, it was as easy as switching into cele amulet and nightmare runes, into zerker amulet and dolyak runes when match starts.
It also works when your team goes into match as 2x trapper, 2x thief, 1 warrior, and 30 seconds before match start when everyone has closed the scoreboard, switch to 2x condi rev, 2x bunker mes, 1 scrapper or reaper in character select.

MMR is a myth
Game just checks if you’re running meta build, then throws you in a comp with 3 meta +2 non meta build players.
If game runs out of non meta build players to fill matchmaking queue, it puts you up against a premade. The more favor that premade’s guild has, the more pips you lose.
If you gain a pip, 1/5 of an empty tier is added to your division track invisibly, which will lose stealth when you lose 2 pips in solo queue. end of day, you will be in same tier as you were beginning of day.
To progress in divison, you must purchase an additional account in amber divison to group into a premade to farm amber and emerald players for their pips. This is not a bug, but by design by Arenanet to make you spend more money for a second copy of HoT: Elite specs for 3 low payments of one DLC price so they can pay for their rental fee to stay on ESL.
Does this answer your question?
8^)
So, from 1 week of playing PvP:
I have made 110g in mats from reward tracks.
More tokens I could ever bother using for dungeon skins that i’d ever get slogging through the actual dungeons
got roughly 70 tomes of knowledge, which is faster than i could ever bother to grind out in PvE… would you look at that.. i can get a brand new max character!
obtained more exotics than i’d ever seen in a month of PvE
To say that the economy is messed up is an understatement. When you can’t forage for and supply for yourself playing the very game content that requires gold to progress in without having to resort to a grind/farm/route or repetitive gameplay, it speaks volumes about the overall design for the game and what its really feeding.
Arenanet wants your money. That’s what matters to them. The people who originally worked on this game for the desire to make it special are gone, and the only purpose it serves now is to provide long-term grind goals for the classic MMORPG player— legendary items, fractal rewards grind, now a PvP backpiece for PvE casuals to partake in to re-inject playerbase into the PvP scheme, because that too is dying out.
The reason why they don’t reply to these forum posts is because its probably more or less true, and there is nothing they can say that can prove otherwise.
There are very little if not no reward for playing PvE anymore, so eventually everything boils down to players wanting progress→buying gems→convert to gold
dungeons have no tangible reward
fractals reward empty boxes with green gear that ends up being salvaged/vendored for 50c… or efforts go towards making infusions and pieces of gear that cost astronomical amounts of a certain resource
legendaries are Anet’s version of WoW/Blizzard introducing gear grinds/perma raid hamster wheel.
Metas give xp… and paltry trash. They also give more tokens used for either feeding more of your legendary grinds, collections, or skins.
I’m logging in for stretches of pvp matches, gonna do some mindless WvW zerging with friends for the laughs, etc. Raids aren’t challenging, they just require competent people with gear. In fact, Vale Guardian imo has more challenging mechanics than Gorseval, and Gorseval has more challenging mechanics than Sabetha.
world bosses are your daily dose of lottery tickets. Participate in a 10 min zerg, take your ration box, crack open for a chance to win a pink item.
So wait, there were literally hundreds of thousands of people on Twitch watching videogames and only 2000 bothered to have a GW2 stream open?
yep.
If im not mistaken.. I thought you could play w/ the elite specs in pvp without unlocking them in PvE?
