Do not create multiple tickets. Creating multiple tickets will slow down any response that your friend will receive.

It sounds like you have a handle on most of it. From what you are saying, it does sound more and more like they have access to your email account.

As to how they get the passwords, it’s anyone’s guess. I had a VERY secure password when I setup my account. Not 10 minutes after setting it up, I had someone from China try to login. My machine was completely clean (actually a new install less then 24 hours old). Firewalls, high security on routers, etc. I do computer security for a living so I know it was not from my end, especially in 10 minutes time but somehow they got my login and password all the same.

So you are saying you have your fiancé’s login and password in your email account? That is not a good idea. You are making a few incorrect assumptions. Only 1 email address is associated with an account. A serial code is not needed to change a password, all that is needed is the old password.
First, you should make sure your computer is secure. Then contact support and ask them to change the email account associated with your GW2 account. The new email address will then be your new login name. Use a secure password and be sure to setup email authentication at the very least. Also, NEVER use the same password for both your email and GW2 account.

Hey.
I recently got 12 guild commendations, went to the merchant and accidently bought wrong earring.

I got Totem of the gorilla.
But right under it, in the list of earrings, is the Flendgling Charm that i was suppose to buy.

I have equiped it, right after that i realised i bought wrong.

Not sure if it is able to do. But can some dev please change the earrings or remove the gorilla and give me 12 new commendations?

My character who has the earring is Lo Kite (Engineer).
Totem of the Gorilla is currently in her bag.

Support usually does not undo player error, however if you want an answer you need to open a support ticket. Top of page, support, then submit a request.

How anybody that’s spent any amount of time in PvE can say that the PvP community is rude/toxic is completely beyond me and so bass ackwards I can’t even tell if it’s satire or not….

Your experience may differ, but I stand by my opinion. In GW1 from begging, GW2 from Beta, both daily. Never seen a more toxic bunch of players then in these 2 games.
As to LFG, that’s what you get for trying to do anything with a pug. Pugs are the second most toxic group and should be avoided at all costs.

Going to be honest and stereotype….

People don’t PvP b/c of Pvpers. They are usually the most toxic group of players to be found in this genre and thus most avoid them best they can, which involves not PvPing.

This right here. PvPers are the worst of the community (same in most games).
I played PvP in many games for many years and was very successful. Once I started playing GW1, that was the end. GW2 has not gotten any better. I don’t need the smack talk, rage, or foul language. If I want to see people acting their worst I will go watch an episode of divorce court.

This is something I have mentioned before, and it is the biggest mistake Anet has made and the most serious of all security flaws in their system.

Simply, the forums use the same login and password as the game.

If you have the forum remember your password, it is stored in your browser. This information can be extracted by any malicious website. All the website really needs to know is the website they want the login and password to. So if you want to steal logins and passwords to https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu, you create a site that will attract GW2 players. Maybe show hints, maps, or even just armor pictures. The player visits the site, the site owner then has their login and password to the game. It’s really that simple. You can have a “secure” computer, but just visiting one of these sites can expose your info.
From the demo I was given at my employers, there where many different factors that could make your computer vulnerable to this, java version (newest is NOT always best), browser version, browser security settings, etc. To be completely safe, do not allow your browser to remember your login and password, and be VERY selective what GW2 related sites you visit.

I see no use/need for player housing and would much rather they spend the development time on real content. Player housing would add no play value to the game at all except for the very small RPG crowd.
New races, new skills, new dragons, expand the personal story, new lands, then and ONLY then should they even consider something as useless as housing.

You are welcome to your opinion- but the CDI disagrees with you- many people want player housing and it is not useless by a long shot and can add quite a lot of game play to the world- apart from the fact that you end up with a house too.

Go back and read what I wrote, nowhere did I say we would not have anything. I said I would rather see those other items added before they wasted their time on housing. Housing should be down towards the bottom of the very long list of things that need to be addressed/added to the game. I stand by my statement, IMHO, housing is worthless and would add no game play value at all. I have seen it many times in other games. Players get a house, add furniture, add children/spouse, then it sits empty as they go and actually play the game. I do not want to play an interior design simulator.
I don’t care if some players do, they can have housing AFTER the more important improvements are done.

Scammers/spammers have been able to change the “from” address for decades.
Anyone can actually do it in a few mouse clicks so never trust the “from” address to verify an email is real.

So basically, just because the return address is noreply@guildwars2.com does not mean it is a real email.

Anet will NOT send any notifications that your account will be banned/suspended, never. If you clicked on any link in that email, your account is now at risk and you should change your login information ASAP. You should look at the forum post below.

And what about if I use MadCatz R.A.T. 7 Mouse’s offical driver programming for auto 10-click at opening bags? (This even makes COD Semi-auto weapons fire as Auto, lol)

Anything that automates any game play function, even opening bags, can lead to a ban. FYI, even using that in COD online can and has lead to a ban.

So, Ive just built a Mjolnir, which on Charged Lodestones only costs almost 600g, way more than the cost of an Ascended, but still its stats are equal to exotic. I think I deserve better stats than Ascended weapons for my effort.

So, I was thinking that we could upgrade those rare weapons (like Mjolnir) stats to a new tier superior than Ascended. And then, Legendaries would be yet another tier, superior than Mjolnir.

Its very unfair that people who dont wanna make the effort to get a Mjolnir, or an Eye of Rodgort, Volcannus, etc have the same stats as we do.

Support has started in the past that there is no way to unlink the accounts once they are linked. If you are getting authentication emails, it means someone has your login and password. Since it’s the same password for both GW1 and 2, you should change your password ASAP to protect both accounts.

The nodes aren’t moving because of events. Ancient saplings have nothing to do with events. Saying that they are moving because of events is spreading incorrect information. And generalizing any occurance as an event, when the term is already defined clearly in game to everyone who plays, doesn’t make it less false.

It may not have been the “noob” part. “kaka” is slang for poo, which would also violate the naming policy. Some times what we may see as a harmless word may mean something different to another. Anet usually errs on the side of caution and if it could be offensive, they will take action.

Also to add to what others have said, if he received authorization emails, even if he did not authorize them, it means someone had both his login and password.
Did your friend by any chance link his GW1 account to his GW2 account? If so, the logins and passwords would automatically be the same for both.

People don’t seem to think that standing around for 1.5 hrs for a 15 minute event where every move is pretty much the same every time just isn’t fun, or what I’d consider a useful use of my valuable spare time.

When I work, I work hard. When I have leisure time, I want to be spending it doing something, not standing around doing nothing except gassing on ts – if I want to stand around chatting I’d much rather do it in the pub:-)

Teq is a large waste of space in the vast majority of servers and for the vast majority of spawns- I wonder what percentage of spawns are actually completed? 2%? 5?

Exactly! I remember in GW1, you would have players standing around taking 2 hours to plan a dungeon run that took 30 minutes to do. If it takes that much planning and coordination, it’s simply a waste of my gaming time.

There is a rather large difference between, “only available to a small hand full of the community,” and, “available to anyone willing to put in the effort required to participate.”

You mean by joining some guild created to bypass the terrible mechanics of the event? So for the whole community to be able to do the event, you want there to be 500 of these fake guilds rolling around? No thank you!

The dedicated guilds for this have pretty much killed any chance of doing it unless you join them. It’s really not worth the time or effort to even bother. You can get much better loot much faster by just doing the other boss events.

Please do not blame the dedicated guilds. They are the only people doing it correctly. If you do not like or want the dedicated guilds, then form or join a guild that is large enough and does have the coordination to fight Tequatl correctly.

If you just want to run around effectively solo and ignore the mechanics whilst refusing to communicate with those doing the job right, you will fail each and every time. None of the dedicated guilds like TTS demand 100% repping. They are a response to the new difficulty and mechanics of Tequatl, it’s pretty much the only way that it can be done.

This is an MMO… you may actually come across other people every now and then and -gasp- you may even need to cooperate with them occasionally!

Sorry, but these guilds are the cause for the lack of players doing the event in the open world. If the only players doing the events are in these 11 guilds, and they all take the fights to the overflow servers, then there are that many less players to do the events on the regular servers. It’s simply a matter of math. And if you seriously think the “correct” way to do this fight is the way these guilds are doing it, then the entire event needs to be removed as it is a complete and utter failure. Any feature that is only available to a small hand full of the community is a waste of resources.

Cannot access guild bank [merged]

I am unable to access my guild bank in Lion’s Arch. I belong to two other guilds and am able to access those banks in LA but not my own. I can only access it in Divinity’s Reach. I have sent a bug report and three days later filed a tech support issue for which there has been no response again…and today filed another report after ANOTHER three days. I am getting very frustrated with this whole support process which is BROKEN in my opinion. Please help.

Opening multiple tickets will slow down your response, and the more you open the slower the response will be. If you have not received a response after 3 days, you need to post your original ticket # in the 3 days or older thread for review. Opening another ticket instead will accomplish nothing but stop you from getting an answer.

You do need to submit a ticket, top of page “support” link.
On the page that opens, click on “submit a request” in the upper right hand corner.

That being said, it is very rare for support to undo user mistakes, so they may not be able to help you.

Kick him from the guild so he cant pillage the guild bank. Also warn all guildmates and his friends not to trust any messages from his account until its restored.

If you read the op’s post, (first sentence) you would see he already left the guild, that is how they discovered the hack.

At this point there is nothing you can do but wait for support. They should be able to help you recover the account. If they determine it is hacked, they can also do a roll back and restore the account as well. What you do need to do on your end while waiting is secure both your email and computer. If they where able to setup an authenticator, then they may have access to your friends email account as well.

There is also a tombstone in GW2 that reads:

“Hank the Blacksmith 1020-1081 Shod all the king’s horses with honor”

There was also a horse head available as one of the options for guild capes in GW1.
This kind of confirms that there where horses at one time. I would have to assume the Charr ate them.

This may not be popular, but what they should do is if you kick a player, you cannot invite another to take their place. You have to continue on with the remaining players. If a player leaves or is disconnected, then you can invite a replacement.

You have opened a ticket and that is the proper thing to do, but you should not then post here in the forums looking for a response unless it has been longer then 3 days. Also, do not submit multiple tickets as it will slow down the process and increase the time it will take for you to get a response.

Forget about a serial code if you do not have it. Have your girl friend come to this website. On the top of the page is a link that says “support”. She should click on that link. On the page that opens, top right is a link “submit a request”. Click on that link and fill in the information she does have. If there is any information that she does not have, just leave it blank. There is no need to sign in to support to file a ticket. The support ticket will be handled by email from that point forward.

I did this on the 19th.. and still haven’t received my code. Probably just going to call the bank on Monday and issue a chargeback. I paid for something that I didn’t receive. Thanks, Anet.

There have been issues with some email providers blocking email from anet.
You should also be aware that if you do a charge back, the card used can never be used for any purchase from anet again and if it was used to purchase any other accounts you may lose them as well.

Well at least they should let the guild clear out the bank. I have known people to have guild acronyms that they never thought someone would find some way to make it perverse.

There have been several instances where guilds have been disbanded due to offensive names/tags as there is no option to rename a guild. When it happens there is no warning. You log in, and the guild, bank and everything in it are gone. It’s as if the guild never existed.

Your not the first to bring this subject up. There have been at least a half dozen or more threads about the same topic that have been moved to the suggestions forum over time. Some day you may see it, but with the way GW2 tries to distance itself from GW1 as much as possible, it may not be for a very long time.

Check your account to make sure there are no strange IPs showing at the login history.
Have you used a mobile phone to log in to the forums recently? That can mess with your password and not allow you to login.
