Well first, can you log in to GW1? You would now use the same email and password for GW1 as you use for GW2 and this website as once they are linked, all will use the same information. If you can log in to GW1, go to your HOM and speak to Kimmie the historian, change the view from character to account and back again then try to access your HOM in GW2. If the account was truly banned, then you would have to go through support.

the problem is they are not communicating my account was hacked this morning and i have not even received a automated response. an this guy/gal is at 4 day this is insane

You have already been told it could take as long as 24 hours. It is also the weekend, and you where pointed to this thread. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Not-Getting-Our-Mails-Yahoo-Gmail-Hotmail-and-more/page/2#post3302355

Support does communicate. You should always get an automated response, then it can take anywhere from 3 to 5 days. If you have not heard from a support rep by that time, you post your ticket # in the 3 days or older thread.

I am not sure if I am following you. Is your old GW1 account linked to your GW2 account? If you have the log in and password, are you able to log in? BTW, the login and password for your old GW1 account would be exactly the same as your GW2 account if you have been able to link them already. You said you sent emails, did support ever respond to you?

Lol. It wasn’t my silly ‘what-if’ that proposed they would make Legendaries obsolete. But, if they did, then I would have to use whatever means to recoup as much as I could in-game. Wouldn’t you? Or you would rather get nothing, than even a small amount?

They aren’t going to make Legendaries obsolete, so we don’t really have to play the ‘what-if’ game, anyway. If the person that brought up Legendaries wanted to use an in-game item for comparison, the Karma booster and Karma consumables incident would have been much more apt.

The problem is. There would be no way to recoup legendaries. Same, as there is no any rational way to recoup boosters. Thats my point. U can still get karma from events. So they had no reason to compensate karma boosters.

And there is no reason to compensate glory boosters. They gave a warning that glory was going away. We have known this for months. That was your notice to stop saving them and use them. If you chose to ignore the warning, that is your problem.
Answer this, if you knew glory was going away, why in the world would you still keep hoarding the boosters?

So back to my previous posts. Its fine if they remove your legendaries, but give u warning in advance?

And again. Like I said in my previous posts, i see no reason to waste glory boosters on the game mode, that I dont like. I was saving them for the promised time, when there would be new game modes. And when warning came…well.. there was no way to use all of them. Since I only did spvp for dailys.

I am not even going to discuss legendries, it has nothing to do with the issue at hand and seems like a failed attempt at changing the subject. The subject is glory boosters. You could have used them, you only did dailies, so again that is your problem. Saving them for an imagined new game mode was a poor decision on your part and honestly makes no sense at all. Bottom line, you can delete them or keep them in your inventory as a souvenir. You made a bad decision so you are just going to have to live with it.

U not gonna discuss legendaries, because it proves my point and u do not like it. I was getting Glory Boosters Long before they made any warnings about deleting them. There was not any expiration date on them like “This item for a limited time only and then would be deleted”. So, then, suddenly deciding to delete them is a same bad decision as deleting legendaries. Thats my point and u can’t just say “hey i dont want to speak about it, from this point of view”.

If u accept deleting glory boosters with a warning. U should be Ok with deleting legendaries the same way. “hey! But they gave u warning! And u could have salvaged it! Thats your bad decision!”

Your grasping at straws. A legendary is no where near anything, by any stretch of the imagination, to any normal person, anything like a booster.
I am not going to discuss legendries because to be perfectly honest, it’s an idiotic argument. But if you REALLY want to push it and make silly arguments to back up your position, I would not care in the least, they can delete every legendary in the game 5 minutes from now and it would make absolutely no difference to me, would not effect me in the least. I would not care and would not even bother commenting on the forums about it.

Now back on topic. You decided to hoard your boosters. That was your mistake which you decided to do. You have given many different reasons you decided to do that, but in the end it was YOUR decision. You have to live with it. You will get no sympathy from me because IMHO, you did it to yourself. You can make up all these silly “what if” stories all day, but it will not change the fact that you screwed up and there is no reason anet should undo your mistake.

Op, unfortunately there are many players like that in this game. There are may players in all areas, PvP, WvW and PvE that get more enjoyment out of griefing then they do playing the game. The players you described are a perfect example why many of us will not play WvW or any PvP content. PvP in many games tends to bring out the worst in people, and GW2 is no exception. The best strategy for dealing with players lke that, is do not play with them. If you see them in the area, just leave and wait until they are gone. Once their supply of players to grief disappears, so will they.

They became more valuable the moment they gave better rewards.

It is a shame if you have not been able to use those boosters, though.

No. Glory become more valuable. Not Glory boosters. As long as u didnt use them – they useless. And as Op said, If u were hoarding them for the moment, when promised new game modes finally out > u screwed. That’s what happened. And this is exactly how he named it. Taking away invested time.

Here. Imagine another example: I was hording as many ectoplasm as possible. Then anet would say, that ecto is outdated. Though. They would give everyone 1k gold. U see the problem? Some players would be hurt more, than others. That’s not fair at all.

I am sorry, but if you hoarded 400 boosters, it’s your own fault and you have no one to blame but yourself. You could have used a booster a day for a year and still had a lot left over. Boosters are meant to be used, if you decided not to use them, then honestly it’s your issue.

No sense in complaining about this anymore. It seems to be becoming accepted by the community so don’t expect anything to change. It has gotten so bad now, I recently saw roughly 10 or so players, all in the same guild autorun threw the gate without helping us fight the mob, then once inside, they all took off their armor and stood against the back wall. Well organized laziness/leeching.

If you didn’t enter anything, you should be fine.

Actually this is not correct. Just visiting some of these pages can compromise your account. It is very easy to extract a login and password from a known webpage from your browser using scripts. Since this site is a known site to the scammers and we use the exact same login and password here as we do to sign in to the game, if they can get this login, they can get your game login as well. It all depends on your browser, version, security settings, java version, etc. There are so many variables, it is safer to say if you have visited any of those links, change your password at once. It as better to be safe then sorry.

While I agree many of the back items are distracting and would not mind an option to disable them, I don’t see it ever happening. The main issue is for almost everything in the game, someone will not like it and not want to see it. Auras, legendary effects, spell particle effects, glowing flame armor, minis, the list just goes on and on. At what point would you stop, and who’s opinion would count the most on what would and would not be seen?

In every online game I have ever played or know of, cheating has always resulted in a ban of the account. Botting is one of the worst forms of cheating and causes untold problems for the game developers and other players as well. There is no legitimate reason to use a bot. Botters are almost universally hated and despised by the online gaming community because of all the problems they cause.

There have been games that did not enforce anti-bot rules. Those games have shriveled up and died away as players left due to the devs lack of enforcement.

No one is going to support a policy of giving botters a break, if anything most have been asking for more enforcement and more bans.

I like the idea of a timer before you can enter, like the marionette.
Or better yet, do a stargate effect. When the gate opens, a blast comes out of the middle that wipes out anything in front of it.

Legendary armour on gem store?

It will never happen and for good reason. The absolute worst thing any MMO can do is to sell anything in their stores that gives 1 player an advantage over another (gear wise).
You will never see armor or weapons with the best stats available in the gem store simple because that would make the game pay to win, which would be the end of the game for a very large portion of the player base.

ShiningSquirrel.3751

What I would like to see is instead of a 72 hour suspension, a suspension for the entire duration of the LS arc. They don’t want to play anyway so the afkers should have no issue with that.

AFKing to get free stuff is a bona fide Guild Wars tradition. See every festival in GW1. If you don’t enjoy getting free stuff, then you’re the one who isn’t a good fit for this game or its core community.

It’s just like when your cool uncle throws a bbq – he’s paying for all that food, doing all the work to cook and clean, and you’re technically just mooching, but everyone is having a good time being there for their own reasons. That’s community.

Being the guy at a potluck who gets kitteny because one of the other guests didn’t bring a dish is just sad. Perhaps there’s a game out there that is better suited for all the tryhards that have infested the GW community.

Apples and oranges. Standing around in LA in GW1 for event loot did not effect the outcome for any other players. Doing the same thing in LA now has a detrimental effect on other players and effects their game negatively. If it was only 1 or 2 players it would not make any difference, but it is getting out of hand. When you see 30+ players on a single map standing around doing nothing while everyone else does all the work for them, that’s when the ban hammer needs to come down. There is no defense for doing this, there is no legitimate argument. The players doing this are hurting the community and need to be dealt with. No amount of excuses can change that.

Do you get DC when someone stands idly? Does it prevent you from playing the event altogether? So again it boils down to rewards and YOUR definition of fun?

It prevents us from finishing some events, that is all that is needed. My game experience is lessoned for someone who is leeching just for the loot, so your loot argument is pointless as YOU are the one only in it for the reward.
It’s amazing that people actually think they can defend this. It speaks volumes about the players and none of it is good.

ShiningSquirrel.3751

If it’s an emergency would you really go back to your game to get your character out of LA? -_- Helping the community = forcing you to play a certain way? What if I just like going into LA for extra profit while playing the TP?

Good grief. Keep trying to defend AFK leeching all you want. Okay, yeah if your house is on fire then I guess it is okay to AFK. LOL

No one is forcing you to play a certain way, but if you take part in the LA event where a significant part requires actually participating then you should be willing to participate in one way or another. Unless you house catches fire. HAHA

Nothing in the mechanics require me to do anything to get the citizen supply bags. How does one measure contribution? I’m also playing the game, just not how you want me to. You want to penalize people because they’re getting rewards just for standing idly while chatting or for playing the TP or heck, have their houses on fire instead of saving citizens? Then they shouldn’t have designed it that way in the first place.

As the players who keep defending this like to say, it was a design flaw. Taking advantage of a design flaw is exploiting the game. Using an exploit is against the TOS.
So by the arguments given here my the AFK crowd, in their own words, they are using an exploit and should be suspended/banned.

End of story.

Leeching in this circumstance is not griefing – if they were actually trying to make you fail it would be (albeit incredibly hard to prove), but it helps them if you make 1200 as well. They just don’t want to work for it.

Sorry, it IS griefing, or more specifically, leeching which was a reportable offense in GW1 and should be here as well. The devs have now starting kicking and banning these afkers now so hopefully having a 72 hour timeout (should be longer IMHO) will teach them a lesson.
In LA this evening, I counted 28 afkers at a single gate! It’s out of hand, so I fully support having these leechers suspended. If you have to leave to do something else, just waypoint out so another player who actually wants to PLAY the game can take your place. Why should a whole server suffer because a hand full of players want to be lazy and leech off of the efforts of everyone else?

Griefing is where you have the intent to cause harm to other players. Being lazy or being afk does not equate to this. Griefing would be me intentionally training risen to the NPC at the Grenth event or running mobs to the beginning to “punish” afk players.

LOL, so now your trying to turn the afkers in to victims?
Several people have said it’s a design flaw, so it’s OK. taking advantage of a design flaw could be considered using an exploit, so yeah, keep trying with that one.
Leeching is griefing when it negatively effects other players on the server. You can try to turn it around all you want, but the facts and the suspensions speak for themselves.
What I would like to see is instead of a 72 hour suspension, a suspension for the entire duration of the LS arc. They don’t want to play anyway so the afkers should have no issue with that.

If your not there to respond, that could be considered “unattended play”, so that’s a good guess.

As to in game powers. I run multiple game servers myself. I play on them. If I see a player who needs to be kicked, I minimize my game, log in to the web console and kick them. No in game powers needed, just the ability to run more then a single program on my PC.

Yes, I know nothing can really be done here but I’ve seen posts by Gaile asking support to look at the ticket. I was hoping that he could do the same to me to speed up the process if possible because anyone who would look at the situation would think that I’ve been scammed by Anet even though I know it’s not true. Especially since the charge for the game has gone through completely.

Was the card that that bought the game under your friends name or someone else’s? If under someone else’s then they may have asked for a refund.

This card was under my name and I am 100% sure I have never requested a refund, especially since I was busy when I received the e-mail.

Yes, Gaile will have someone look at the ticket, if it has been more then 3 days and you have not gotten a reply back from support. You need to go through support and let them do their jobs, there is no option to have it reviewed while it is still being worked on. Also, Gaile is a she, not a he. ;-)

If it’s a typical survey, it would have been send to a cross section of the playerbase, not the whole playerbase. similar to the Christmas cards. If you get it, congrats and fill it out. If you did not receive it, don’t whine about it.

Guess the Huge Feature Update?

They are probably going to introduce a new villain to take the place of Scarlet.
“Magenta”, an asura with issues who was a rabid fan of Scarlets. She will rebuild the alliances and continue where Scarlet leaves off.

surveymonkey is a legitimate site, and Anet has used them several times in the past. If the links point to surveymonkey.com, then it is probably legit.

“Social engineering” is the single most effective hacking tool there is. I am sad to see this from Anet, but not surprised. After 16 years in the IT industry, I have almost seen it all, and have seen this type of thing happen many times before.
You should post the ticket number so Gaile can look in to this. The support rep may need to be spoken to if what you have said is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it.

This always seems to happen. It happened with the marionette as well. Once players have their achievements/loot, there is really no reason to do the content again. I finished this afternoon myself. I may go back in again, but there is really no incentive.

The new one is a complaint. The old one is a request. They are separate issues on the same subject and I am not wanting my complaint to go to the same people who were dismissive of me.

Gaile has asked specifically that any tickets for deleted items wait at least 5 days before posting in the 3 days or older thread as they are taking longer then usual to resolve.
She also said she asked an agent to review your ticket 2 days ago. You need to give them time, as they are apparently working on it. Opening a ticket to complain is not going to accomplish anything except slow down any response you will get on your original ticket. You are only hurting yourself.

GW2 needs FFA PvP servers!

While I think a FFA PvP server is a bad idea, I do have to wonder if a single PvP zone built along those lines might not be worth looking into.

Mind you, I HATE PvP. I can’t stand it. But I don’t mind reasonable suggestions for those that enjoy it, and one zone seems reasonable. Something like the Edge of the Mists, but FFA? Never knowing who you’re going to go up against, and a map designed to make some areas favor certain kinds of builds or classes so that it’s not all one class dominating the entire map?

Sounds reasonable to me. Would enough people enjoy it to make it worth building? I don’t know.

It has been said before, but it’s worth repeating to but this to sleep.
If they tried that, you would see nothing on this forums except complaints about how over powered this or that class is, nerf it. The balance issues would make it a nightmare. The game was/is designed for group play not 1v1. You would either have one class/build dominating the entire server, or just players running around in mini zergs ganking anyone in sight.

maybe you should go back on topic. one drop does not make nor break the game.

It adds a lot to your credibility if you actually know what you’re talking about and don’t insist that you’re correct when the facts demonstrate otherwise.

It doesnt matter it is an yes no discussion witch can keep up forever. that is not my intention with this topic. let me put it this way i seen it drop from an different boss. and ill let it rest now. again not the issue with gw2. its the nice armor and weapons from those bosses not only one weapon for just a few classes.. as an warrior i dont care for an staff. plus they are only 5g to buy the final rest.

If you claim to have seen it drop from a different boss, you are either a liar, or you fell for a troll posting the code in chat. Either way, your credibility just went down several notches.
