If support confirms your account was hacked, you can ask for an account restore.
A restore is given only once per account, so you would need to make sure your account is secure before asking for a restore.
Since a restore resets all account items back to the restore point, any new characters you create and progress you make would be deleted during the restore.

You have already made your point of view know multiple times in multiple forums. There is no point in repeating yourself over and over. As I posted above, you can ask for a refund or wait for the new skin, repeating yourself over and over is not going to change that.

Short question: Why dont you just block all connections to China and Russia? Would make things a lot easier. Especially since China got their own version of GW2.

Because there are legitimate customers in Russia and China playing this game on the NA/EU server. They are usally bi-lingual, which would allow them to play with others. Also, gold companies could invest in proxies which would bypass region locking; makes no sense to block and hurt your customers more than the gold sellers.

Also the gold selling in this game is very minimal, try playing another game and be bombarded with gold sellers all day long

A group who paid money on an item (Virtual or otherwise) should always out weigh a group that feels their prestige was ruined, no matter what the sizes of the groups are..

Honestly the Armor should stay in game and the prestige complainers should take a good long look at themselves, its a game you play for fun.

Money is real no matter what it buys, these people paid for a service that was systematically taken from them.

I personally feel they should take it to court, these companies cannot keep getting away with these illegal practices..immoral too.

The fact people continue to play after this really is a worry to me.

The decision has been made. Nothing is going to change that now.

No decision is ever final.
Because of that, complaining (for whatever reason, justified or not) may actually change the decision, for better or for worse.
With your logic ANet made their decision already when they put their armor out. But now that decision has changed so you’re proven wrong.

At this point, you can be pretty sure this one is final. Anet is not going to change their mind because a very small number of players do not like their decision. Let it rest.

Auto-Loot @ Macro

Hi, I was wondering if setting your AOE LOOT key as a macro was ok?
I play a lot of wvw, and hate worrying about my loot when I’m trying to stay focused on the opponent.

I really don’t see what the point would be? Auto loot is s single key press. Why would you need a macro for a single keypress?
If you want to just reassign it to a different key, there is no problem with that.
The general rule of using any macro is 1 key press performs 1 action.

hi, my ele is a human fire mage, she sucks at the other elements. she’s been a fire mage since day one of the game’s release, and has worn her ruby red t3 for over a year, all decked in superior rune of fire. she saw the flamekissed outfit on the day it was released and said “hey that’s so me, can I have those shiny jewels on my t3 outfit?” I said why not, and paid Anet USD10 for it. I overwrote her t3 with the skin, to create a t3 with shinies. She now runs happily around now looking like the fire mage she was always meant to be, fire shiny. Is that really a problem with Anet?

I do not believe the spam messages have anything to do with how many AP you have. If anything they would be targeting players with lower APs because they are the ones who would be more likely to make a purchase to “catch up”.

What is needed is an automated filter to block any message that contains the website addresses they are using. I have seen only 3 websites spammed over and over again and 2 of them where the same site, just renamed. If it’s possible to add a black list to all chat, when a new site comes up, support could just add that site to the list and have done with it. I do not know if this is something that could be added, but it should be looked at.

Why do you not have option 1? It’s a perfectly reasonable way to keep your armor and runes that you have said you do not want to lose.
If it’s because support will ask you to delete the old skin, have you bothered to ask if overwriting it with a new skin would be accepted as destroying it?

I doubt it given some people have already gone after their refund and received T3 to replace their flamekissed with.

Support may be being inconsistent, possibly in how they are approached, but there’s a lot of people getting their old skins back on one side and then there’s a bunch of others who just seem to want to post the same misinformation over and over without actually going after their refund…these are also the same people that seem determined to keep their flamekissed so I’m not sure of how much stock to place in what they say since it doesn’t seem like they’ve actually tried to get the refund that suits them, just want to complain on the forums.

All I got in response was my 800 gems. No skins, no transmutation crystals or splitters. And a message saying “please delete the armour”, which I am choosing to ignore because it is my main set and I received nothing to replace it with.

Did you explain that the skin was used on your existing armor and that you wanted your old armor back, or did you just ask for a refund? How you submit your request can make all the difference in the world.

It is a mess, but they would have avoided it by just ignoring the rage, and now can only be fixed by restoring each account on a case by case scenario, which will be a nightmare for them, most probably (and the reason they would probably prefer to just refund gems, rather than restoring skins, as they must to be really fair.)

Restoring accounts has been suggested before, but it is not a viable option.
Accounts are restored only for unauthorized access, and then only once per account for the lifetime of that account. An account restore wipes out everything on the account after the restore points date. This means all achievements, dailies, loot found, gold earned, levels, everything is rolled back.

Players will also gravitate towards these kinds of simple mindless loot opportunities when they are in the game.

Unfortunately, this leaves many other engaging group events in the world untouched and other zones desolate.

While I applaud the players resilience for staying with such a dull manifestation of the game, I feel Anet should take an approach akin to paternalism* and remove the Queens zerg, in order to force change and diversity.

This may upset some players, who feel they should be able to play how they want to play, but sometimes the world demands an authority or organization to guide us gently towards perfection.

In short:
Complete reroll and refund of everything proven related to the armor (possibly with a bonus compensation to lighten up the mood).
or
Let people keep the armor.

Otherwise none of the customers will be satisfied at all and ANet will lose alot of reputation on it.
This is important especially because it is the gem store that is giving ANet their salary and if they lose reputition this way, the gem store will suffer from it.

Also… RIP my beloved skin…

Allow those people who purchased the skin to keep it, and then re-release a new skin on the gem store.

Thanks Inculpatus… I didn’t want to air dirty clothing on a public forum but, since Customer Support are not answering my request tickets for the last past 2 days, I was forced to ask here.

If you have already contacted support and it has not been at least 72 hours, (3 days) then there is no reason to post here on the forums.
Also, if you have already opened a ticket, do not open a second one as it will slow your response as they will have to close the new one out and merge them before taking any actions.

After seeing all the raging about this, I honestly hope they take the skin back from players who purchased it, and give them 800 gems only, nothing more.

Nice… In other words, you don’t like those that are unhappy with the change so you hope they get hosed. Real nice..

Notice how “after all the rage over this”, they want to take away from the honest buyers, yet it was the T3 high-horses that cried until it was changed in the first place. -rolls eyes-

Except I do not have any T3 armor, never had, and never will so there was no rage about it from me. I personally think it looks like crap and would never wear it. I chose my armor in the head start weekend and have been wearing the same skin since then. I had no comment on the flamekissed being a duplicate of the T3 as I do not care one way or the other, they could unlock all of them for everyone and I still would not care. I had sympathy for the players who purchased the skin at first, that was until they started posting on the forums here and started showing their true colors.
Like I said in a previous post if Trogdor had decided to quote it, if you act unreasonable, you should be treated unreasonably.

And it’s absurd to blame players for buying additional items to further customize their character’s look based on their initial purchase.

No one is blaming the players, but many of you seem intent on blaming Anet because you chose to purchase additional items other then the armor skin. The skin is the issue, anything else is irrelevant.

But it is relevant…example…you buy a sofa. Once you get it home you decide to further enhance the look of your new sofa by painting your walls. You then go back to the store where you bought the sofa and buy the matching chairs.

The store decides to recall the sofa fabric and replaces it with something that no longer makes your socks go up and down. Not only that but, it doesn’t match your newly painted walls or the chairs you purchased from the same company.

Your example is flawed, but just to amuse you. A couch and chairs would be part of a set. If the couch was changed, it would be perfectly reasonable to expect having the chairs replaced to match, or getting a refund. If you went out and purchased other items not part of the set, like pictures to hang on the wall or having the walls repainted, that would not be part of the set and you should expect no refund for those items.

ALL the light armor that was purchased and intends to be purchased should ALL look the same.

Ummmm, but….I and many others bought the skin. We’ve equipped the skin over writing our old armor. We’ve bought dyes, weps, etc. Others have created characters specifically to use this gorgeous skin.

If it is indeed re-worked we who purchased the original skin should be allowed to keep it. We had no idea of the kitten storm that would ensue. We put a lot of work and gold into the other elements surrounding the use of this skin.

Why should the buyers be penalized for Anet’s misstep? We supported the game with our $$.

This was my first armor skin purchase from the gem shop. It will be my LAST purchase of armor skin if this skin is taken/reworked.

No one told you to purchase dyes, weapons makeover kits, etc. No one told you to create a new toon just for this armor. You chose to do that. You still have the dyes, weapons and toons.
The ONLY thing additional support should do is give you back your old armor before adding the skin to it if that is what you want. Other then that, nothing more. All copies of this armor should look the same.
As they have said, they are going to change it to the new version, if you don’t like it you can get a refund of your gems. They could just change it to the new version and offer nothing to those who have already purchased it so if anything you should be thankful for that.

I believe that’s both decision Include on Black Lion and Re-work sold armor skin its a shame for company and One interesting thing is that’s many people said:

“…if arena net will give back your GEMS you don’t lose nothing… "

Yes we’ll lose our skin, we’ll lose confidence in the company, we’ll lose respect from company and with this ARENA NET will lose many people that’s support company every month with MONEY when buy GEMS.

This game is a business, were some people buy a game key an just play the game and farm gold to buy item, other’s (like me) that’s don’t have much time or think that’s need’s support company, bought a game key and every month buy gems (this user increase company profit). Arena net needs said that’s did a “big mistake” with this customer that’s support company every month with our money. It’s fair we’ll punished per support company ?

I believe that’s arena net needs offer other’s solutions to us that’s bought gems to bought FLAME KISSED ARMOR SKIN, than gems back or other changed skin design armor, once we don’t want this.

It’s more fair remove skin and give us a 10k in gold game coin to each user that’s bought armor, why thus amount ?

To try give back us confidence in game, in company and to remember all staff members that’s they need THINK BEFORE MAKE A MESS with us CUSTOMERS that’s all month put REAL MONEY in this company.

It’s not fair punish us that’s don’t did nothing wrong and of course once Armor are modeled by Old Sayid we need a formal apology’s letter from Old Sayid to all users who’s purchased and will lose their armor and to all users of T3 Humans Users too.

I support this idea.

People need to learn to read before they post cause misinformation is no good. I just read the article related to that and she was not banned she was warned to take it to the forums. Also if it was taken to court that’s in a completely different realm then someone taking away your virtual item.

There is no such thing as an “unintentional” bait and switch. There has to be intent.
It’s a moot point anyway. Anet made a mistake and are simply correcting that mistake.
You can argue legal terms all day, but in the end it’s not a legal matter.

You should also be warned that making any threat of legal action here on the forums will prevent you from getting any kind of refund or support without obtaining a lawyer. Support has stated many times that once legal action is threatened, they will no longer speak to you and all future correspondence will have to go through their attorney. So watch what you say unless you are willing to carry your threat out.

Where is it posted? Where is this mythical post by the devs that says this?
Your jumping to conclusions and making a huge fuss before even knowing what the devs are planning to do.

Anet is yet to post anything concrete on what will happen in the event of us not liking the “new” skin and wanting a refund. All that has been apparently said (earlier in this thread, someone mentioned this from support) is that people who transmuted over Human T3 will have to REBUY the piece of T3 to get their old skin back. Whether you take that as true, or as potentially falsified (wouldn’t surprise me either way) is up to you. But it’s enough to make people concerned.

Seems like a reasonable answer and request, but many here are just unreasonable.

You know, in looking at all the situations with players and their different needs, I really believe the best course here is to wait for the introduction of the replacement armor set. From what I’ve been told, it’s going to be really nice. Please keep in mind we’ve already made it clear that Customer Support will try to resolve the individual concerns that you may have once the armor change is made. Each of you may have slightly different situations. But since the armor is not out now, and because we will be happy to address your concern after you’ve had time to appraise the new set, doesn’t it make sense to wait and see?

Support has already said they will try to resolve each players concerns. What more do you want? If you don’t like the new set, put in a refund request and any additional information about your “case”, and let them try to work it out. If you don’t like their decision, THEN you can complain about it.

After seeing all the raging about this, I honestly hope they take the skin back from players who purchased it, and give them 800 gems only, nothing more. I did have some sympathy at first, but after reading the comments both here and in support, I have none. The attitude, “I spend money so I should get special treatment” is just obnoxious. Players who spend money in the gem store deserve and get NO more special treatment then a player who has spent nothing.

Take it away, refund the 800 gems, then block them from purchasing the new version since they hate it so much before even seeing what it looks like.

If by some strange fluke an unbelievable situation occurs where they decide to allow players to keep the current version does happen, I will protest and make the biggest stink possible just to make sure they do not get to keep it on principle.

Good grief, you are worse than the moaners. I am sure anet will follow your suggestions because they enjoy upsetting their customers/ /face palm.

Well anet has said they will try to address each persons concerns about refunds, but that is not good enough for some, so what WOULD be good enough? The complainers want what they want and to heck with anyone or anything else and refuse to listen to a very reasonable request to just give the devs a little time. People like that deserve nothing and no consideration.

The thing is, we can’t make it an either/or situation.

You mean it will be more work to do, it must be possible or we would only have 1 armor in the game

while it may be “technically” possible, it’s a horrible idea. If they allowed the players who already purchased it to keep the current appearance, the players who where upset about the T3 being in the gem store would still be upset and anyone who could not purchase it before it was removed would be upset. You would be creating a small elite group of players with a very rare armor set, not a good idea at all.

Knowing the way Anet has done things in the past, if players decide they do not want the new look and wish a refund, but have already used it, they will probably be given the splitters from support (returning their armor to its original appearance) and directed to delete the skin to receive a refund. As to weapons, dyes, etc, I would guess you are going to be on your own as you will still have these items on your account and really they have nothing to do with the armor or the gem store purchase. Before everyone starts raging and demanding refunds, why not just wait to see what the new skin looks like first?

Never liked fotm, and probably never will. Did all the maps and leveled to 10, then stopped. Repeating the same maps over and over again is just not any fun to me.
This is why this whole update will probably be skipped, absolutely nothing for me to do since I don’t do the fotm so I guess I get a 2 week vacation with no LS.

Well I gotta say you don’t sound that angry about it, thou I imagine you are. heh, kinda funny, you thinking about getting a refund (good luck btw) and Im just thinking about selling my gw2 account. This game isnt what I thought it would be. And if there ever was or is a chance to fix it for the better, they wont. Cause hey! Money you know.

FYI, selling or attempting to sell your account is grounds for a ban of that account.

Got his today about shut down or partially limiting my account in 72hrs. I was tired and shocked and without thinking I clicked the link. It wanted my email, account number, and other stuff….I realized at this point what I had done and closed the browser without entering in any information. What do I need to do to protect my account at this point? am I out of the woods, need to run some sort of virus check? Thanks for any help…Can’t believe I clicked on it, I know better:o(

Change your password ASAP. Because your account information and the sign on for this web site are the same and stored in the browser, just visiting that page could give them access to your account information.

Ecstasy.2483, no one has been trolling you. Both Inculpatus and bluestocking have given you sound advice that you have chosen to ignore. There are procedures that will get you the most help in the fastest way possible, but again, you have chosen to ignore those procedures. You say you want an official response, but that is what tickets are for. Opening multiple tickets on the same issue will slow down response as both tickets have to be researched in the que, then merged, then the duplicate has to be closed out, THEN support can start to work on your issue. Do you see the problem there?

How much you spent in the gem store is meaningless. You are no better then a player who has never and will never spend any money at all. You are simply a player. You can threaten to never spend another dime, but that will get you no where.

first – I’ve listened to the advice and done what they’ve said.

second – I even thanked them .

third – I never stated I was better than anyone else , I’ve vented my frustration in this thread for the lack of communication.

fourth and foremost – I’ve followed EVERY guideline to the T , email , the 72 hour thread thanks to blue , a PM to a GM , and a account issues thread.

and lastly- you find where I stated that I said i was better than you somehow? I never said that.. stop twisting my words for your lack of understanding of mine, all i want is an official GM to respond that’s you’re blowing this out of proportion. This should be the last message on this thread that is not a GM response anymore individualists who are just normal players that post past this point you are nothing more than trolls since all guidelines that go into support have been followed.

guys calm down, I think Ecstasy submitted another ticket because s/he believes the first email account is not receiving mail, which is exactly what s/he should do.

Ecstasy, while support works 24/7, Gaile does not work 7 days a week, she is not a robot! As you probably do need assistance she should be able to help you but you need to let her get to work first and have time to review the ticket herself. If they said you were supposed to get your legendary and you did not then they should fix this issue for you.

The second ticket isn’t an issue here because you seem to believe you are not receiving your responses on your original ticket due to a known issue with yahoo accounts. If you are still receiving responses on the original ticket then opening the duplicate ticket will slow you down your response a little as they have to re-verify you on the new email account so have a little patience and I’m sure everything will work out. It will be ok.

Draygo, this had nothing to do with the Yahoo mail issues. He received the responses from support (which he actually posted here) . He simply opened a second ticket thinking he would get a faster response. He has since gone back and edited out much of what was posed.

While I am doubtful anything can be done, you would need to open a ticket with support.
Top of page, left hand side “Support”, then top of page, right hand side “Submit a request”.
