Friend keeps getting hacked

also got hacke by americans and i am on EU server, texas and california
have done some many sweeps i lost count still cant find anything.

The Texas IPs are the forum servers. It’s a known “bug” and nothing to worry about. Many hackers from China use proxy servers located in California as well as other locations.

All it takes to get hacked is visiting the wrong website. A simple javascript can read website login and password information. Since the forums use the same login as the game once you visit the site and the script runs, they have you login info. This is one of the reasons from the very beginning I have said it’s a poor design to have the forum and game logins the same. It’s a huge security hole.

Actually i was the leader of the group. I started the fractal. As I just spoke to one of the members i was kicked as we where all looting the chest. The 2 other members wanted to troll the group by making sure we did not achieve getting the bonus loot and the level up.

You said they kicked you to prevent you from finishing the dungeon and getting the reward. That is griefing. All you can do is report it. It is not a glitch, it is the way the game is designed. Is it a good design that any 2 players can vote to kick another, even the leader? Probably not but that is the way it is. If your not going to report the players who did that to you, then why are you here? This is not an account issue.

Since you want to call names and act like a spoiled child, your on your own. You can report the players or not, it’s up to you, but your not going to get a fractal level or loot added to your account because 2 other players did something to you in game to spoil your fun.

Support will look in to it if you file a report, but you need to prove it. You can’t expect support to just take your word for it now, can you?
If you don’t have screenshots, you atleast need dates, times and player names, etc. Support cannot read minds and are not all seeing. If your not willing to atleast do your part in filing a report, then what do you expect? Support will not give you anything in game just because you demand it. It is not going to happen. They WILL action the accounts of players greifing if you can show them some proof or give them something beside “these 2 guys did something” to work with.

Bottom line, you will not be compensated. If that is all you are looking for, forget it.
If you want to report the other players for griefing, file a report.

If you had screenshots of chat showing the 2 players where trolling, you could report them to support. Support cannot give you your rewards or levels, even if it was a glitch that kicked you so nothing can be done as far as that goes.

I should point out that the guilds that have died in GW2 are alive and well in other games. They simply do not play GW2 any longer. The biggest complaints I have been getting boil down to 2 points, being unable to get an achievement or skin. So far no one has said anything to me about not being able to get APs at all.
I am currently a member of a very large guild that is thriving but have seen some of the same comments coming from some members there as well.

BTW, I am NOT complaining about the LS. I am enjoying the content myself. I simply wanted to know if anyone else is getting the same feedback as I am from their friends who used to play.

You’ve gotta love threads like these, they sound so dramatic.
Right up to the point where the problematic ‘thousands of non returning players’ they seem to suggest turns into one dude…and a couple of his mates.
I view most LS with the same disdainful eye as JPs – most of it isn’t relevant to me, I’m no AP ‘must have’ seeker by a long shot, but I’m not about to chuck it all in ‘just because’.

Who said anything about thousands of players? Gotta love people like this who make up things just to hear themselves talk.

First, you do not want to keep making new tickets as that will only slow down any response you get and make it even harder to get any help. Even if a ticket is closed, you can still update it.
If your original ticket is over 3 days old, you should post the ticket number in the 3 days or older sticky thread at the top of this forum so the Anet rep can look in to it for you.

First, I am not leaving. I play every day and do most of the LS content.

I am in 3 guilds, 2 of which are dead. I have had friends in my 2 dead guilds start asking me about what is going on in GW2 because they heard about all the new content and where thinking about coming back. So I tell them about all the great updates we have had, but then I have to tell them, “sorry, it was temporary so you missed out”.
It’s a real downer. None of my friends has any interest in returning once they find out they missed so much content that they will most likely never see again. Telling them there is new content every 2 weeks makes no difference it seems.

Has anyone else experienced this with their friends? Opinions? Is LS really a reason not to return?

I think you are wrong. I do not believe that Anet has dedicated programmers for internal tools. Those tools are still connected to the game and can and will be best handled by programmers who can program parts of the game. A living story is more then a script and new graphics, but often requires new mechanics and new programming. This is done by the same ones that would program your precious tool.

I think that asking for such a tool is selfish and asks Anet to reserve budget to help sutpidity instead of reserving budget for the good of everyone.

Actually he is most likely correct on the tools. Most companies that produce any type of software, including games, have dedicated tool divisions. These programmers usually create the internal tools that other programmers use to create and modify the actual commercial product. I have friends who actually do this for a living for a very large well known company.

Those kind of tools have nothing to do with this. Those are developper tools. They are very different then what is needed for this (a support tool). A support tool is an addition to the game that only support people have access to. anway, dedicated or not (and I dont think they have dedicated programmers for this) it would mean reserving budget. And my message is that to add this unneeded tool, they need not do other things. I’m against that ‘sacrifice’ and would be very annoyed if anet uses money and resources to develop such a thing.

Tools are tools, the tools divisions I have dealt with make no distinction between support and production and most of the tools are in fact used to support the end products. I agree that resources should be spent where needed and not used to correct user mistakes but you should not try to base your opinion on facts that are not known or incorrect.

I just killed her 2 days ago with a random group of roughly 15. It was a decent fight, but nothing compared to Teq. I do not see any reason it needs to be nerfed at all.

There are already issues with rendering 80 (or 40, 100, etc) players on the screen, now you want to render 160? 80 layers AND 80 mounts?

Yes, the fight mechanics are much better and is an update that was needed. In GW1, there where many missions that actually took strategy, and they where the most fun to play. Standing in place spamming a single skill is about as much fun as running around in a zerg. That being said, this fight was just simply no fun. I do not know what the complete rewards for beating it are yet but what ever it is it will not be enough to waste my time on.

The problem we have on our server are there are too many commanders who are just worthless. It’s going to take players working together as a team, but so far I have seen very little team work on our server, and certainly not nearly enough for a fight like this.

I have done the event twice now, and will not even be trying it again for some time. A huge waste of time and effort. Maybe when people learn to work together, but until then there are other activities that are much more enjoyable so I for one will not be showing up for any more events.

I don’t know about you guys, but it’s annoying that some skills force the player to stand still and play an animation when using. Outside of PvE where it may be easier to find a safe way to cast such things, it really isn’t that cool of a thing to do :z. I like how all meditations for guardians have been made instant, so maybe it would be next on the list to possibly change skills that root a player into something that’s mobile

Is he not saying there, that there was a change to guardian meditations, hence forth, he was inspired to look to more “mobility” changes throughout the game.

No, he said he liked the way the skill was made, not how it was changed. Completely different meanings.

My point was, they didn’t make the guardian any more mobile than it already is. So he was contributing a change that didn’t have the effect he wanted to as part of a justification for a separate change.

Now to the point of making the whole game more mobile. It is fairly mobile as it is now, but I agree, there are some abilities that are just too exposed to use them. Especially in PvP.

You misunderstand guardian then.

You were never rooted in one place and the cast time of all the meditations were instant with the exception of smite condition 1/4s cast time and merciful intervention with 3/4s cast time.

All this does, is allow you to cast those abilities while stunned.

Now if they made staff “empower” mobile, that would be another thing….

I agree with the OP. If my Ele skills worked like Guardian skills I would be so much happier. Having to stand still to cast meteor shower really sucks as it makes me a sitting target.

Never played WoW because it was so grindy and the lack of grind was what lured me to the GW franchise from the start. Unfortunately GW2 has turned in to just another run of the mill grind fest. There is nothing special anymore.
The WoW players have gotten their wish and GW2 is turning in to another clone with nothing to make it stand out except no monthly fee. I have no wish to make a legendary as they are all ugly as sin, and the requirements for ascended do not offset the benefits of having one. I play every day, but I really don’t know why, guess I am just glutton for punishment.

There are major retailers here in the US who have problems with games showing blood and/or gore. One who will remain nameless goes so far as to have “special” versions of games created for their retail stores with content they feel is unacceptable removed from the game. Since they have the sales to back it up, they can make demands like this and get away with it.

I currently see no reason to step foot in FOTM again until the new map is released. I have done all the maps several times already and have no use for the relics so why should I bother to do them again? The first 4 or maybe 5 times can be fun but after that is just doing the same thing over and over.

You can try opening a ticket by clicking on the support link on the top of the page, then “ask a question”.
But to be honest, it’s very unlikely you will receive any assistance. There is no option to undelete a character. There is an option to roll back an entire account, but that is only used for an account that has been hacked by a third party. The “evil little brother” accessing an account its not considered a hack.

I do 2 or 3 invasions a day if I can. I have seen some great groups, and some pure trash talkers. Overflows or not, it just seems who is online at the time. I have been in an invasion with 2 commanders on the map. Finished the invasion and got so much loot I had to keep salvaging and selling to clear my bags. (max bags, all 20 slots).
Then again, I have done an invasion with 11 commanders. Worst experience so far. Not enough loot to fill 2 bags and mostly all trash. Failed the invasion with the final stage bar almost completely filled. It all depends on who you have the luck or misfortune to play with.

I know this is a violation via the User Agreement, but I have a different question.

Is one able to report a "Suspected Account Sharer? Would they be able to run IP checks or traces, or at least send a warning letter about “possible account sharing”, and consequences if they continue, so both parties are alert and aware about this?

While it is a violation of the TOS, it’s almost impossible to enforce. There is no practical way to verify who is using an account if it’s shared. I log in from 2 different locations, so my account would show multiple IPs as well as multiple computers if they even bother to track that. 2 people sharing an account from 1 location, like a collage or school may only have a single IP address. The main reason it is frowned upon is if both people who are sharing an account both claim it is theirs. Ownership cannot be proved, so the account would be disabled and neither party would have access to it. The other issue is the “bratty little brother” syndrome, where someone sharing an account deletes toons are does some other damage to an account.

User name does not = in game character name and copy righting proper names is a can of worms that many companies have opened on their own..
But be honest, you know as well as the rest of us why it was banned.
When it comes to something with multiple meanings, all meanings are taken in to account.
Just because say it means something to you, does not mean it the rest of the community will see it the same way. You can even have a name that seems perfectly harmless in your own language, but could be very offensive in another language.

I have seen the complete opposite. My friends who where “hardcore” finished all content available in a few weeks, and left never to return. I consider myself a “casual” player, and I am still here, still playing with my main and still have story and content to do. I am the one who spends money in the gem store, not my “hardcore” friends.

I recently purchase GW2 to play with a friend. It has been less then a month since I purchased it. If I knew they where going to be adding new items I would have delayed my purchase of the digital deluxe edition and just upgraded. In my opinion, I feel that I have paid for items/service that has not been rendered.

New things are added to many purchases all the time. You can wait until all things have been added, in which case you would never be able to purchase any product ever again, or purchase the version available at the time you want it. You got exactly what you paid for. You can feel unhappy that a newer version is now available, but you still got what you paid for.

I want to be “heroic.”

It’s bad enough that I keep seeing the Digital Deluxe Edition promotion (on sale for a limited time, only 1600 gems!) every time I open up the trading post window. I have the Collector’s Edition, which I did not purchase out of a desire to have the items it came with (like the super-cool special emotes!), but out of sheer enthusiasm for the franchise. I was totally pumped, you know? But now I can “upgrade” to the Digital Deluxe Edition for the limited-time price of $20.

How can I become “Heroic”? As a devoted fan, I want to upgrade my account as much as I can. I had the Guild Wars: Nightfall Pre-Release Bonus Pack, the Game of the Year Upgrade, etc. in the original Guild Wars.

Oh! So I should just buy a bag, an armor skin, and some boosters from the in-game store? Well, that’s nice and all, but… “Heroic”? If they’re going to name it something like “Heroic Edition,” does that mean that it’s somehow more heroic than previous editions? Does having a previous edition (even Collector’s) make me somehow less heroic? And does buying a $10 armor skin, some boosters, and a [really, “ankittenhril”?] mithril box actually make up the difference in heroism that was lost by having purchased a “lesser” edition?

Heritage armor

Why would we? Deluxe Edition is just whatever current regular edition is offered plus golem, rytlock, mistfire, etc. Though, I have heard/read the new golem is 2 weeks, as opposed to 5 days. Just because someone purchased a DDE, doesn’t mean they didn’t get the ‘extras’ a DDE offers.

If anyone should complain (and they shouldn’t), it would be those that bought a regular edition and did not receive any extras. Of course, those people did receive every free item and content release that was offered between the time they purchased and now.

The new 2 week golem is buyable, the deluxe version comes with a free 5 day golem, that’s the difference.

The Deluxe version was there before the heroic version. There’s a difference in buying a higher tier product while not being able to receive at least the same amount of content a lower tier product in addition to more incentives.

There was no insult, you only feel it was insulting as long as you believed in, I don’t believe I deserve anything, perhaps my words might be too tunneled visioned on your perspective that it looks like I’m demanding, but it’s actually a form of question in which you base constant assumptions on.
