… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Sadder then anything that these good for nothing scrubs can’t win without cheating.
Yes, people will complain.
It’s an easy thing to do here on the interwebz.
Anet could add on a free machine that connects to the game that spits out money, and people would complain that it didn’t organize that money by numerical denomination first.
So to sum up…
‘I have to click on things?? Waaaaah!’
What’s the point, OP?
Just something else for the haters to come here and vomit all over the forums about.
‘I hate this game. And I’m staying here to make sure you all know how much I hate this game. Hahahahahahaaaaa… Live in my toxicity, peons!’
Peh…
As opposed to the angry, rage-filled, bile-slinging comments from every negative nancy who can’t simply say,
‘I don’t like this and here’s why…’No. It must always be…
‘I HATE THIS! And if you don’t agree with me, you are nothing but a putrid White Knight fanboi and I’m going to argue anything you say by repeating myself louder and with more vitriol every time you comment!!!1!1 YOU SUCK ANEEEEET!! GG FOR RUINING THE GAME!!!!’/facepalm
I dunno. Doesn’t seem to be a terrible, apocalyptic change to me like some are acting like it is here.
Your response sounds as apocalyptic as those you speak about… : )
And your ad hominem, smarmy comment proves what, exactly?
People interested in purchasing this game will look here in the forums and see not only displeasure with the games direction but how the horribly rude comments from the fanboi’s goes undealt with.
Change brings concern and questions, many unrealized yet.
Did your smart answers in this thread say “come play with us”, or “keep looking”?
As opposed to the angry, rage-filled, bile-slinging comments from every negative nancy who can’t simply say,
‘I don’t like this and here’s why…’
No. It must always be…

Now that I got that out of my system…
Tried the new Daily system and it went like this…
-Logged in yesterday, and got a reward for just logging in-
Huh… Okay, cool.
-Look at the daily achievement panel-
Hmm… PvE,PvP and WvW… Well, not too terribly interested in sPvP…
Ah, darn, just missed Wurm… Well, what else can I do…
Oh hey… There are Dailies for Wintersday as well. Cool stuff…
-does other stuff for a while, getting two other achievements done in the process-
Oh, Jungle Wurm about to happen…
-WPs there, participates in the event, gets 10 APs-
Huh… Not so bad…
-goes on about her day-
-logs in today, gets another reward for just logging in-
Okay, cool. Whats the Daily lists for today?
Vista in Ascalon… Cut trees down in Kryta… Events in Silverwastes… and Fractals? Eh… Won’t be doing Fractals…
-WP to nearest Vista in Diessa. WP to Queensdale and head into Kessex… Do a couple of Events along the way. Head over to the Silverwastes and do what I usually do there… Ding, Dailies are done and 10 more APs-
Hey, got some Wintersday presents in those rewards… Wow, a surprising number of weapon skins… Cool.
-goes on about her day-
So, overall?
I dunno. Doesn’t seem to be a terrible, apocalyptic change to me like some are acting like it is here.
Get more rewards. Easier to get 10 AP a day. Daily rewards for logging in (that don’t reset if you miss a day… Thank god for that!) Options to do more then the 3 needed to complete if I so choose and get the rewards for such…
While I suppose it would be nice to give more options for Daily achievements, I’m not going to drone on and on about having lost anything because, in reality, I haven’t. In fact, comparing the new system with the old, I’m getting more with the new…
I’m fine with that.
I predict a lot of people will try and provoke responses and be passive aggressive to a painful fault…
As per usual on these forums…
Wow people are really defending this change… I didn’t realize the game had sunk so low that something like this is actually defensible….
Wow people don’t agree with you and have their own opinion… Blasphemy.
Trying to compare GW2 and TSW?
Akin to apples and oranges… Only thing they have in common is they are MMOs.
Having played both, I vote GW2.
Not because TSW is a bad game. Quite the opposite… It just never engaged me well.
Slow, repetitive combat.
Overly dark story.
Standard, linear on-rails story missions.
And don’t even get me started on their version of our Gem Store.
If you like ‘World of Darkness’ type of game worlds and stories, then TSW might appeal to you better.
For me, personally, I had my fill of that back in the 1990’s.
Overall, the in game community has usually been pretty good.
You still have your jacktards out there that will try and cause grief, just because they can and have a terrible sense of what they think is funny.
Like just today, we had a pretty foul-mouthed jerk in the Silverwastes who was complaining about having to earn the Carapace/Luminous Armor Pieces.
Now, complaining in Map chat is one thing… but then going out of their way to use some pretty foul language and then attacking someone else that spoke up to disagree with them… Yeah.
Fortunately, such sophomoric outbursts seem to be few and far between.
Certainly not going to complain.
Indeed, it’s a good one. Thumbs up, Vas.
A minor quibble though… Would a charr call his mate ‘wife’? Or just ‘mate’?
Or is it just one of those things that is left up to individual charr?
Oh dear… LS2 chapter 8 is coming out next month…
Whatever will we do…
/sarcasmYou know, from the fevered rage that is plastered on these forums, I would have thought people would have /wanted/ the LS to stop. :p
My own jaded cynicism towards the internet aside… this all seems pretty simple to me.
Holidays take precedence. Living story chapters can happen at anytime, but one can not postpone Christmas.
As such, instead of pulling players in two directions with an annual event and a LS release, it was decided to postpone the LS release. What part of that is so difficult for some people to understand?
Except that in the first time in GW history, Halloween was a carbon copy of last year with nothing new. I am expecting the same with Wintersday and we still have these ridiculous breaks. LS is a horrible content delivery system for story that should be made into a properly and fully developed expansion.
It doesn’t change the fact that they would still be running two big events at the same time. Which they have decided not to do.
What you might be expecting for Wintersday, or Halloween, or any other annual event, is irrelevant. And saying these breaks in the living story are ‘ridiculous’, along with how LS is a ‘horrible delivery system..’ is nothing but subjective opinion which has nothing to do with the topic presented here… except as another way to try and bash Anet.
(edited by ShinjoNaomi.1896)
Welcome to the game, OP! I’m glad you are enjoying it so far and hope you continue to.
I’m going to reiterate something I said a long while ago, but it still exceptionally true…
My biggest piece of advice to you?
Don’t take anything said here in the forums /too/ terribly seriously.
Just play the game. Enjoy the scenery. Learn at your own pace. Get out there and explore Tyria.
And most important of all.
Have fun.
Oh dear… LS2 chapter 8 is coming out next month…
Whatever will we do…

Right! All that great substantial new content may overload the general player, how can one find the time to finish that hour worth of LS content and rehashed holiday event?
And that disproves or invalidates anything I said?
Didn’t think so…
And my jaded cynicism towards the internet and the angry people looking for arguments and online fights on these forums only grows…
Gleam could be the Shatterer?
…
I never even thought of that possibility! :o
As if Kralkatorrik shouldn’t potentially be hated enough for the death of Glint, but add on the possibility of him corrupting her offspring? Talk about rubbing it into Tyria’s face!
‘I killed your greatest protector. And then I took her child and corrupted them to fill her old position as my lieutenant. Suck on that, you angry, rage-filled little mortals.’
Oh dear… LS2 chapter 8 is coming out next month…

What part of that is so difficult for some people to understand?
And what we have really learned from this thread?
Everyone has their opinions and some are more vehement about it then others.
My opinion?
I like playing as Caithe. It was a nice change. It’s not like they make you play an NPC all the time and you /never/ get to play as your character in the rest of the game or anything.
If it was something they did all the time, then yeah, I could see the internet-hate being justified (for a change…)
As it is, it’s just something else for people that are looking for things to be righteously indignant about.
@Nilkemia… Let’s look at this one point at a time.
(Note: Quotes truncated due to posting limits.)
- Not showing us all the firstborn…
We lose what exactly from that? It leaves them room to work with that in the future if they want.
- Ceara. Plain and simple…
Sorry, not everyone hates her as unreasonably as the forum-goers here. Having her cameo does nothing to break any existing, solid lore. And by solid lore I’m not talking about player speculation stuff put up in the wiki that people like to quote as absolute fact.
Also, it shows us how long she’s been around. And gives a tad more credence to what she accomplished during Season 1. 20 years is a long time to work on things.
- They show some Secondborn…
And they do nothing really interesting with these Secondborn….
Getting themselves captured by the Asura thanks to their naivety counts as nothing? The entire incident helps show exactly why the Firstborn Sylvari end up trying to help their newly awakened young siblings the way they do. And /also/ gives us a glimpse at what helped shape Canach’s view of the world.
- We learn nothing about Malomedies’s encounter with the asura… Show, don’t tell.
How exactly would you have wanted them to show that? Another flashback in a flashback? Even if Malomedies was there, it would just be them telling us what happened.
- When our character explains what they see to Marjory, they don’t explain it well or fully.
Would you want to sit through all that dialogue just to read something you already saw? From an MMO story-telling perspective, that’s very redundant and unnecessary.
- Stealth sections in an RPG setting…
Don’t really have anything to say on this one.
- The Caithe/Faolain relationship is just not believable to me….
Love makes people do foolish things. If someone is physically attacking the person I love, guess whose side I’m falling on?
Yes, it was clearly Faolain’s fault that the entire confrontation happened. Doesn’t change the fact that Caithe still ran to her lovers aid when the fighting broke out, which is fairly believable in my opinion.
- Caithe assisting Faolain and the proto-Nightmare Court in slaughtering an entire centaur village…
See my above point. I doubt either the Centaurs or Faolain and her ‘friends’ were at all interested in any attempt to break up the fight once it had started.
- Faolain ditches Caithe to go after Wynne…
Game mechanics. Could have been that Anet didn’t want to make the fight too easy by having Faolain doing all the work. In truth, I can’t really say one way or the other on this one.
- Yet another cliffhanger ending…
~shrugs~ Some people like that sort of story-telling, some don’t. It happens all the time in TV shows and anime.
Can it be done better? I dunno. I don’t write stories for an MMO, which is notoriously hard to work with.
- Wynne’s a firstborn who we don’t see at all outside of this chapter, and she conveniently had Caithe’s current hairstyle. Gee, I wonder if she’s gonna die?
And? Truth was I didn’t even notice that until you pointed it out.
- Oh and finally, the achievements just to get Wynne’s Locket (Sinister Ascended amulet) are among the most annoying ones yet.
Another one I have no comment on.
So….a story that doesn’t live up to any potential it had…
This and Tangled Paths are such a huge dip from the story that was building up from Echoes of the Past…
Now, I’m left wondering if the last episode will actually give something for me to care about.
While I think the story could be done better, I say that with the full knowledge that /nothing/ is perfect and can always be done better.
Caithe is guilty of is making bad choices because she followed her heart and stood by the person she loved.
Faolain is dark, but ‘evil’ is questionable. She really didn’t fall that far until after she witnessed what the Asura did to the Sylvari. Such things tend to shape how people see the world, after all.
As for replayability and how it stacks up to previous episodes. That’s all personal opinion. I would have thought that more solid lore would have been well liked.
Lastly, whether you find something to care about in the last episodes or not is up to you.
‘The story doesn’t live up to any potential’… /in your opinion/. I’m rather tired of seeing these kind of posts that assume they speak for everyone and their brother, instead of just themselves.
Polymorph Moa is a pretty standard elite skill that all mesmers have access too. Why wouldn’t Kasmeer know that?
I have a question. Isn’t there a way to turn off your character model by programs or something? >_> I mean, it wouldn’t give you advantage, would it?
Well… if they could program it so that your character model becomes invisible to you, on your computer, while still being visible to everyone else…
Actually, the more I think about that, the more I wonder how viable that is, since it could be something client-side, as opposed to server-side…
I have never heard of any game trying such a thing, however… so I do wonder what the possible limitations of this idea are.
/ponder
So, there are people buying this…lol.
Clearly there are. Makes sense since people asked for such a thing.
Hmm, looking at the preview in the character screen… it’s more then just a re-skin. The griffon has it’s own little animation that’s different from the regular carrier pigeon.
Heh, not sure if I’ll be buying this… /but/ it is pretty cool.
And again, proof that ANet does in fact listen to suggestions! (A fact that will be conveniently ignored or judged as inconsequential by the majority of naysayers, as per usual…)
Funny thing, I absolutely do not grind in GW2. When I play, I play as much or as little as I like, then stop if I get tired or am losing interest. GW2 is different enough from other MMO’s that I enjoy the game play. Other MMO’s, actually playing the game seems tedious after a certain point — which is usually about halfway through the leveling process.
There are long-term goals in GW2. Some players actually seem to like that sort of thing in an MMO. Others seem to want to get to the goal, but don’t like the process. For me, Ascended trinkets I can get just by playing as I like and being patient. Weapons and armor require crafting, which I find tedious and boring. So, no weapons or armor for me.
It’s a simple equation. If you choose to grind, you’ll experience grind. If you play for the goals that were put in for those who like to and want to “work” for a long-term goal, but don’t like the process, you will experience grind. This is true in any game. What GW2 has done is to allow you to choose that play-style if you want it, and to avoid it if you don’t with little to no impact on your ability to enjoy the game.
Take responsibility for your choices. If you’re grinding in this game, then you’re choosing to.
Well said, (and put in a much better way then I would have.) +1
I’ll add more to my earlier statement…
If I spend a few hours in Silverwastes, doing events, killing enemies, unlocking buried treasure boxes… am I grinding? Some could see it that way. I don’t.
More importantly, (and this is the important part here) there is nobody holding a gun to my head saying ‘You must farm Silverwastes or else!’
It’s not mandatory I be there. I am not losing out on anything if I go do something else. It’s my choice to do it or not as I see fit.
And that applies to /any/ part of this game…
To say that there is a required grind/treadmill in this game is nothing more then typical forum hyperbole.
To be fair, the grind in Guild Wars 2 is not nearly as bad as the grind in most other games I have played. And at least on this game, I usually don’t /feel/ like I’m grinding… and that’s the important part for me.
But yes, that’s an unfortunate MMO standard, and so far, I have yet to see anyone come up with a reasonable alternative to it.
I am going to take a similar stance on this idea as I do on the idea of mounts in this game.
I am not against it. If they added it to the game, then cool. A title or something along those lines would be fine as well. Personally I am all for adding more role playing elements to the game…
However, much like I don’t believe any mounts should grant any speed bonus, I don’t think that there should be any statistical bonuses for being married. The idea of a shared bank is an interesting one, but, as others have said, you could just make a family guild and do that as well, sans the sharing of Account/Soul Bound items.
Anyway, that’s my opinion on the idea.
Have to echo what others have said. It isn’t just PvE players. Players from all aspects of the game complain and are impossible to satisfy.
And why is this?
I’m sure you could get as many answers to that as there are people to ask. And really, I think there is not a single, specific answer either…
My opinion?
People have always wanted to have fun… That’s why you play games, right? It’s the same reason why we (gamers) used to play Dungeons and Dragons (1st and 2nd Editions… yes, I’m showing some of my age here. Don’t care. :p)
It was a chance to be -A Hero- in a fantasy world that you wished was real.
Now, mind you a lot of that completely depended on the person who ran the game… Get a good Dungeon Master, and you would have a good game.
Have a not so good one? Eeeehh… Those game usually wouldn’t last long. (Not everyone was cut out to be a DM… but I digress…)
So what changed?
Pen, paper and dice were changed out for pixels and RNG… That was a natural progression of things. But somewhere along the way, something else changed as well.
And that was player attitudes…
People didn’t want to just be -A Hero- anymore… They wanted to be -THE HERO- now. Because who likes sharing glory, right?
And being -THE HERO- these days is as much (if not more) about flaunting it over everyone else as it is actually becoming one. It’s all about having that absolute /best/ stuff and proclaiming how great you are louder then everyone else!
And back then, the only Trolls we had were the big, ugly monsters that you needed fire to kill. Not the angry, rage fueled, foaming at the mouth, armchair quarterbacks who are never satisfied and scream ‘I COULD DO THINGS SO MUCH BETTER!!’ in as vitriolic a way as possible, or ‘I"M GOING TO DO WHAT I WAAAAANT!!!’ like angry 9 year olds throwing tantrums. And when they don’t instantly get what they want? They throw another fit and scream even louder.
(And for the record… no, I’m not saying that everyone that complains is an angry little Troll. There are things that /should/ be brought up. A good Dungeon Master will listen to their players… but that’s a somewhat different subject for a different discussion.)
Now, all that being said… did we never have problem people back in the day? Hah! Hardly… We had our share of difficult people… But back then, we could say ‘Well, you can try running your own game.’ or ‘Look, you can either stop being disruptive or leave.’
But that can’t be done anymore. There is no singular ‘Dungeon Master’ to tell problem players this. There can’t be… It’s an impossibility, given how many players there are now on an online game and, even if it was, the perceived anonymity of the internet destroys any possible impact that might have.
So, to the OP… Yes, PvE players -can- be demanding and impossible to satisfy. Just like PvPers and Dungeon/Raid runners and anyone else you’d like to mention. And I have given you a few possible reasons as to why that is up above.
The same could be said about most facets of society these days… Nothing is /ever/ going to be good enough to please everyone. Be it a video game, book, TV show or movie… There will /always/ be someone out there ready at their keyboard, slavoring at the chance to tear into someone elses work…
Why? Just because they can.
If they ever add more traditional-looking mounts to this game, like horses and such, they should be exactly like the Witches Broomstick or the Magic Carpet.
Aesthetics only. No speed boosts. No flying. And be bought the Gem Store for 250 Gems.
As others have pointed out, I don’t think the activities we have are/were played very much by the greater player base (which is a shame… I enjoyed the occasional game of Keg Brawl…)
But you know… it’s all about the rewards and the loot these days. Screw doing anything because it’s just ‘fun’…
Hmm… Is this your first time playing through the episode or the second for Achievements?
Not sure if that would have anything to do with it, really… Just thinking off the top of my head here…
The artist was lazy? o.O
Just because he used a similar stance on two completely different pictures hardly makes them lazy. :p
And the two characters, while similar in stance, are not standing exactly the same anyway.
That’s not including the possibility that they were working under a deadline or something similar.
Artist was lazy… sheesh… So easy to criticize on the interwebs…
In an interview, time ago, CJ said there was a group of people working in capes in their free time. I wonder what ever happened to all that job?
Scrapped, thrown into the trash bin, trampled and crushed under their feet, burned up like nothing and like every other things they promised us…
Funny thing about when you do things in your ‘free time’… Other people start expecting you to make it a second job.
Promised us? Show me where they ever promised us we would have capes. I am sure we would all love to see this.
Agreed. I have no particular problem with Zone Specific currency, but if that is the way it’s going to go, then expand the Wallet to include them.
A veteran here as well… and I’ll simply say this on the subject.
I appreciate the thought, OP. Honestly, I do.
Just as I appreciate it when people say ‘Thank you for your service.’
But…. Oh, how best to say this…
I guess, just realize, that I didn’t serve in the USMC so I could show off the veterans plate on my car, or the Marine Corps dress cover in the rear view window.
I didn’t join for the benefits I could possibly get out of it, or any recognition.
I didn’t serve in the United States Military to have it celebrated in a video game.
Heh… Simply put… I served because it was the right thing to do.
I rather like this idea.
A few thoughts on such a thing…
How long would it last? If someone throws this down, how long will people be able to take advantage of it? 30 minutes? An hour? Would it remain in the world after the owner has left?
Buildable by a guild vs a Gemstore item. While both are viable, I am not sure if doing both would be a good idea… From what I understand, (correct me if I’m wrong, please) the ‘Guild Banquet’ you mentioned as an example needs to be remade by the guild after it’s used. It’s basically a 1 use item.
A Gemstore version of this, I believe should -not- be a 1 use item, especially if it is going to cost 1000+ Gems. (Not saying people should be able to spam the use of this item… As you said above, give it a long cooldown time.)
As such, would the Gemstore version be considered ‘better’ then the guild version?
Last thing… Using such an item in combat. If you are in the middle of a fight, you shouldn’t be able to throw this type of item down (this is probably a no-brainer but…) And, what if a roaming monster happens into your campsite? Should it be destructible or not?
Just some thoughts that came to me as I read your suggestion. Certainly nothing too bad that couldn’t be ironed out!
Overall, +1 on this idea.
So… you are blaming Anet because you don’t have a good connection…
…
Oooookay…
A TON of good content, both old and regularly added through updates. But lacking a solid completed gameplay system, causing the games content to have continually less engaging and enjoyable ways of playing through it.
i agree with this most.
but i also find it amusing players who hate the game and have stop playing linger on the forums to spread the venom.
They got to have something to hate on, don’t they?
Only reason I can think of. (And no, don’t give me that ‘I care about the game’ line of bull crap that a lot of haters hide behind. It’s one thing to give constructive criticism. But the way some go on about it… makes as much sense as screaming ‘I love my dog!’ while kicking it in the teeth…)
On topic…
How would I describe the game to a potential new player? Probably something like this…
“It’s a huge, gorgeous looking world, and despite what some people will want to tell you, there is a lot to do there.
It has it’s strong and weak points, just like any other game ever made.
And my biggest piece of advice? Just play the game. Enjoy the scenery. Learn at your own pace. Get out there and explore Tyria.
And last, but most certainly not least…
Have fun.”
People can report you all day but as long as you didn’t violate the ToS it doesn’t matter and nothing will happen. However, people that place false reports place themselves in jeopardy of getting suspended/banned themselves.
This basically.
If you have legitimately done nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about. Angry players using the Report function as just sour grapes will be the ones in trouble if they abuse it.
You could try looking it up on Youtube, or even on the wiki to get the entire story. Trying to think of other possible suggestions, but… I can’t think of any at the moment.
Sorry man. :/
……
/facepalm
Sadly, there is not a way to replay Season 1 at this time.
Understand, I don’t think this is because they never want you or anyone else to never experience it if you missed it. It was just how it was designed. It focused on very large, server-wide events. In order to bring it back in a more playable way (aka, like Season 2) they would have to remake and redesign it all from nearly the ground up. And while this is not impossible (because I believe nothing is ~truly~ impossible…) it will require quite a bit of work on the developers part.
That being said, if I am not mistaken, the devs have said it is something they would like to do. It’s anyone’s guess on guess on when it could happen though.
I’d say, ‘Good luck with that!’
Why not just delete Guild Wars 2 instead?
It is much more faster to do so than implementing this nonsense.
What part of ‘This is all in fun. I am not seriously suggesting that any of these powers be given to the weapons.’ did you not understand from the OP?
Back on topic…
Only one I could think of is this.
Eternity: Once per day, a player wielding Eternity can take the place of the Risen High Wizard that comes out of the Gates of Arah during the group event ‘Defeat the Risen High Wizard and secure the Promenade of the Gods’ in cursed Shore.
During the duration of this event, the player will have Legendary boss hit points and effects, including the Unshakable and Defiance.
This sounds like what GW1 had with hard mode. GW2 isnt set up for this and will cause the following issues,
Segregation of the community..all making their own demands
Extra work on devs taking away time for new content
As new zones and continents add, the population will be wafer thin per zone
Arguments about who is casual and who isnt as the lines between the two are blurryId prefer to see equal content for both groups across the game and the community work together to help less skilled players through harder content, in a mature and collaborative way.. As an MMO should be imo.
Agreed. People are all too quick to jump at each others throats as it is. Last thing I think we need is something that helps drive a wedge even more into the gaming community.
And separating entire servers for ‘leet/pro’ content would do just that.
Impossible idea? Dunno there…
Stupid idea? Eh, no need to be harsh on yourself in the title of your own thread. Tossing out ideas (while not being a total jerk about it) is what these forums should be all about.
Yeah, I just noticed this one.
It also happens if you log out with the outfit on, and then log back in. Outfits change back to their original default colors.
Not a huge game breaker, but a bit annoying. Hope they fix it.
Hmm… Simply dumbfounding what some people will get foaming-at-the-mouth furious about.
And not only do you rage on something that is nothing more then your opinion, but you insult Anet, the game and anyone that disagrees with you… All while making yourself out to be extraordinarily hyper-combative (to say the very least) in the process.
I dear say… to quote an NPC from the game… ‘Relax. You’ll live longer.’
Or, to quote someone earlier in this thread…
I think the root of the issue is, why do you have to go bad-mouthing a segment of the game to make a point? Of course you’re going to attract snark with snark. Simply asking for an option in the menu to turn such things off is all that is necessary.
@Scryeless
That… is actually not a bad idea. o_o
I don’t know about using the actual Crown Pavilion in the game, but having an instance of it used like that…
How would they handle limits on the number of people there, though? Wouldn’t the hard cap on population be a limiting factor on such maps?
Amazing how the hyperbole in this thread took off like a rocket…
Typical…
There is one detail that people aren’t bringing up… Here in America, you have to pay to get a lottery ticket. If this was truly the same thing, the wrappers would /only/ be obtained by buying them.
As it is, this is not the case, since these wrappers drop in game from Trick or Treat bags, and are obtainable without spending any sort of currency, either in game or out of game.
But then why is it in the Gem Store at all?
Perhaps to give those players that can’t play the content a chance, at least? An alternate method of acquiring these wrappers that doesn’t require playing the content.
While I personally have very mixed feelings about that, I certainly don’t see it as the heartless, greedy money-grab that some people here want to so vehemently paint this as.
Now, it -would- venture into Pay to Win/Money-grab territory if the wrappers you could buy from the Gem Store gave you better odds of winning or if you could not get them any other way. Neither of which I see happening here, so that argument is null and moot.
Heh…
This entire thread is amusing, I must say.
I can certainly see what the OP means by stopping people who haven’t actually played the game in months and months and whose only interest is just trolling these forums.
However, as it has already been said, that idea was shot down long before now…
I honestly don’t think, if such a system was in place, it would stop many who are hellbent on being jerkwads here… It just gives them one more hoop to jump through (and not a very difficult one, at that.)
The concerns brought up about those who can not log into the game for extended periods of time are certainly justified.
However, as a military veteran myself, I’ll simply say the thought of logging into gaming forums like these while I was deployed was, honestly, not very high. In fact, often I wasn’t even thinking about such things (and I was an avid City of Heroes player back then too.)
Finally (and this is my opinion, take it or leave it) the over all negative reaction to the very idea just makes me shake my head.
Nowhere did Krall suggest that people with only positive views and feedback should be allowed to post. But wow, some people sure took that and ran with it all the way to the Hyperbole extreme, now didn’t they?
To me, it all sounds like people getting foaming-at-the-mouth furious at the very thought of being unable to be a complete kitten while giving their opinion…
I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it a thousand more…
Give your opinions and feedback, positive or negative… Don’t be an insufferable kitten-bag about it.

I noticed this too and wondered why they chose this route when they made it.
That being said, it’s still a beautiful dress outfit and I have zero regrets that I bought it.
Patch will get here when it gets here. Simple as that.
I think you meant to say…
“When it’s ready.”

Well I was thinking more along the lines of ‘Hawaiian time’…
But, ‘When it’s ready.’ works every bit as well!
