… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Hmm… I have a few of those kinds of moments…
One of my favorite to recall was the first time I was helping fight the Claw of Jormag.
Seeing everyone work together to bring down the dragon was amazing to me.
But the moment he gets shot out of the sky, crashes into the ground, bounces off the ice spire, and then nearly ends up in the lake… That was memorable!
Yeah, it’s a known bug.
Personally, I don’t care if one of the players in the Stress Test got the armor unlocked or not.
Big deal… they can use a few armor skins that we will all be getting when HoT comes out. There are worse things to be stressing about then other players appearances.
Well, nobody can really tell you for sure the next time those outfits will be available to buy again… But, the best educated guess I could make would be based off of when they were last made available.
The Arctic Explorer and Fancy Winter Outfit will likely come back around during the next Wintersday event.
The Witch Outfit will probably be available during Halloween.
Now, Anet could surprise us with an early sale of these items, but we have no way of really knowing that.
I bet it was hard to come up with the name “tempest” for the elementalists.
In fact a tempest is a storm so it can be related only to wind and water, but it has not much to do with earth and certainly not with fire.
I think the name came from “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare where a wizard called Prospero uses a spirit of wind to summon a storm (tempest). How can “dragonhunter” not be stupid or at least unoriginal?
The great goal of GW2 is killing the elder dragons and their dragon minions.
So everyone regardless of class is a dragon hunter, but now there will be “dragonhunter” dragon hunters too.So yeah since this is already a good start we can expect other great names in the future like these:
- clown (mesmer)
- undertaker (necromancer)
- gardener (ranger)
- plumber (engineer)You’ve never heard of a firestorm or a sandstorm?
I’m not really sure why people think Dragonhunter is so terrible. For a Norn or Asura guardian it would be suitable considering what the dragons have done to them. For a Sylvari it could be to prove he isn’t a puppet of Mordremoth. For a Charr it could just be a role within whatever order she’s in. Humans I don’t know; they just seem to be more interested in politics than anything else.
But people will feel what they feel, no skin off my nose.
Why?
Because it’s just another opportunity for people to kitten and moan and deride Anet. :p
‘Paragon’ sucks. Here’s all for ‘Dragonhunter’…
See? I can do that too. :p
I could be wrong, but I havn’t seen a new armor SET in over a year. Why is that Anet, is it less of a effort to create a outfit instead of a set?
And outfits cost as many gems as a armor set but you cant mix and match.
Not quite none in a year
Carapace/Luminescent. Glorious/Glorious Hero
Or do they only count when sold in the gemstore?
It’s obvious that some things only ‘count’ when those doing the loudest complaining want them to. :p
So, I made this in response to all the winged Balthazar Regalia outfits I have seen.
Head: Primeval Warhelm
Shoulders: Inquest Pauldrons
Chest: Zodiac Heavy Warplate
Gloves: Zodiac Heavy Gauntlets
Legs: Zodiac Heavy Legplates
Boots: Vigil’s Honor Greaves
So what do you want them to do, OP? Churn out a bunch of skills that nobody will use?
That would be a colossal waste of time and effort for things that nobody would use (and doubtless, the usual people would come here and complain about it. :p)
Randulf sums it up my feelings on this whole diatribe here…
Perhaps some constructive feedback on what is wrong and suggestions on how you would fix it. Right now, you have given nothing helpful to the community or the dev team to work on or discuss.
Would female characters get that option too? :p
Put both stacks in your inventory and go to another zone. They should stack normally after that.
You mean like this?
(Now, before everyone goes crazy, realize it was a graphics glitch on my end, which you can see by the missing armor plates on the legs there. That helm is the Black Earth Aquabreather, not the Heavy Plate Helm, and everyone else was seeing the Balth Regalia helm. I have no clue how I made that glitch happen, to be honest, but I do agree with the general statement here. Being able to show normal helms on outfits would be great.)
Heh. Wouldn’t that be nice…
Do I miss town clothes?
Yes.
Do I miss the fact that we couldn’t fight in them?
No.
Eh, I am pretty neutral when it comes to the dailies.
Getting a loyalty reward for just logging in is cool, and I very rarely find myself going /too/ far out of my way to get the 3 activities done to get the 10 APs.
My only issue is how some dailies promotes certain activities and events which cause a severe amount of over-saturation of players at an event or on a map. That being said, it is a minor quibble for me at best… This is a game that is best played with others, after all.
Really… the only thing that confuses me about all this is how people insist on doing something they don’t like.
Even if Anet had abandoned making armor sets (which, from all evidence that has been presented, shows that they have not) they would have quite a -long- way to go before outfits were anywhere even remotely close to overwhelming armors.
Disregarding all armor sets made before outfits came out, just to prove a point, doesn’t help prove the point.
It just makes the complainers seem petty. :pIts not about proving a point, its very simple common idea. People dont want old armors, they already bought them if they wanted them, 1 year ago when they were released.
Anet used to release armors fairly often, since outfits came to existence they do not. Its not a side point, ITS THE MAIN POINT.
this topic isnt about how many armors there are compared to how many outfits there are.
This topic is about the fact that they have barely released any armors since they introduced outfits, and many people want the same ability to mix and match cosmetics that they used to have with the old setup.basically people are complaining that customization options for new cosmetics have drastically been reduced since outfits came into existence.
notice, the topic is stop creating outfits, not more outfits than armors.
Oooh…
So ignoring the customization that is already -overwhelmingly- present because Anet has rolled out new outfits… is clearly much better.’It’s not brand new and shiny!!!’ is not a good argument for disregarding things that are already in the game either.
yes, when you are talking about new things, and what have you done lately, you will tend to ignore things that are a year old. People are talking about the type of cosmetics would like to see released/more of. Not the type of content that was released a year ago.
Their whole entire complaint is why havent you been releasing as much of the good things that you used to. For some one to come and say, why are you complaining, all of the old stuff was good, is basically criminally missing the point.
No, it isn’t. Completely ignoring an entire body of work because ‘it isn’t new’ is nothing more then being selectively biased.
“I’m ignoring all of X because it doesn’t fall within my own, narrow, personal criteria’ is… to use your own terminology… criminally ignorant.
But, nobody here wants to hear that.
As for ‘criminally missing the point’. No… I get it, trust me.
I just don’t agree with it. (Which automatically make me hated here, apparently. lol)
Would the Balth Regalia have been nice as an armor? I suppose. Would people really have liked it better that way? Some people say so, but I dunno. I look at another armor set in the game and I can draw some hypothetical conclusions…
I’m talking about the Zodiac armor sets. I think those look great, but I see next to nobody using them. Because unless you use the entire set, the pieces clash hard with most other pieces.
Balth Regalia has a similar glow effect, and I can imagine the same problems would come up if you were mixing armor pieces.
Anyway, I’m about done with this thread. Presenting evidence as to why outfits aren’t so bad and how they have not been overdone, but then having it dismissed out of hand because ‘it isn’t new’ makes me realize how pointless it is to post anything in these echo chambers forums that isn’t a rage-fueled scream-fest against Anet.
So pardon me now while I go play the game in the new outfit I bought, because I liked it. :P

The current balance between outfits and armor sets is pretty good for now.
I dont log in much but i had to respond to this BS. We have gotten outfit on top of outfit for a while and im tired of this. They need to stop doing this. Outfits are okay but let ppl chose if they want to have the look as an outfit or as an armor.
Please ANET. STOP MAKING OUTFITS ONLY ITS LAME. This great piece of armor you guys finally made after so long is a stupid outfit. There hasnt been a good lookin armor set in a while to my liking but then the balth one shows up… and its a kitten outfit.
Please give us the option to buy either the armor or an outfit version of whatever is on the TP. Please ANET I BEG YOU.
BS?
Lets stop with the hyperbole and really compare numbers, shall we?
Lets really weigh things here and put this in perspective.1254 individual armor pieces of varying weights. (Give or take, my math could be off. Not counting aquatic headgears.)
46 full sets. x3 for each weight class. (Either from the Gem Store in in the game via Karma or Gold or even Crafting.)By comparison, we have…
19 Outfits.
Not counting aquatic headgear. Or Back pieces, of which there are 112.
… My numbers might be a bit off, but it hardly seems like they are overloading the game with outfits.
So, with that in mind…
PLEASE ANET… I BEG YOU… Keep making these wonderful outfits. :pbut they are only making outfits it seems. armor skins seem to have been kicked to the curb. He says hes okay with outfits but wants an option to buy ethier an outfit set or an armor skin set of the same model. hes not saying stop making outfits, but to stop making just outfits sine it seems to be where anet is heading towards. ( at least that what it feels like currently is what i think he is saying)
But they have /not/ stopped making armor sets…
Carapace/Luminous armors say hello.
And Glorious sPvP armors as well.
And the Hellfire and Radiant sets too. What other armor skins have they made since release?
Aetherblade sets.
Flamekissed/walker/wrath sets.
The Zodiac armor sets.
How about the Incarnate set. Braham’s Heavy armor set. Magitech set. The Phalanx Set. Phoenix Armor set. Rampart Armor set. Strider’s Armor set. Trickster’s Armor set. Viper’s Armor set.
The armor set for the Revenant coming out with Heart of Thorns is another one.And that’s not even taking into account the individual armor pieces that don’t belong to a full set, of which there are 37 individual pieces.
So to say they are ‘only making outfits’ and ‘armor skins seem to have been kicked to the curb’ is false.
most of the armors you listed here were created before outfits existed.(outfits in their current iteration did not exist till the wardrobe april last year)
since outfits, i think we have seen, what 2 armor sets?
(feel free to correct me, i have trouble parsing all the info)Carapace/Luminous armors
And that changes what, exactly? They still have been making new armor sets. Why should any armor made before outfits in their current incarnation not count?
because the complaint people who want armor have, is that they have virtually abandoned adding armors since they introduced outfits. This is topic is about the fact that they continue to create outfits and ignore armors.
its not about the what was available before outfits existed, its about what has happened since outfits were created.

The mechanics of the fight have not changed much since the game released… Blasting Zhaitan never really changed since then.
What saved it from a complete disappointment back then was the sheer number of Risen that he would spawn during that fight.
Every pass by the airship spawned over a lot of them. And he continued to spawn them even after he got his wings clipped. And a lot of them were Vets or worse…
And when I say spawned a lot… I mean a lot…
This was before everyone had to be out of combat before you could WP if you were dead. Well, the Risen would actually run down into the airship and swarm you as you respawned!
The challenge back then was just not being over-whelmed by all the enemies!
And really, that did a fair-to-okay job of glossing over just how bad the rest of that fight was.
But, like Dante said above, it was a classic case of over nerfing, and when they did reduce the amount of enemies that spawned to its current, comical levels, it only showed just how poor the actual fight against the dragon itself was…
A shame really…
It has been said that Arah was rushed to be finished right up to the last moment. Personally, I would have been happy enough if they had taken the time to finish it right, and just rolled out Arah later.
But, ah well…
Well… you are not really profiting from. And you aren’t claiming the name as your own intellectual property or anything like that…
I don’t really see any problem, but… I’m not an expert in this sort of thing either…
OP, it’s called people being jerks. And it’s a lot easier for these people to be like that behind their little computer monitors, where they know they can spew their garbage without fear of someone having enough of their crap and decking them in the mouth like they often times deserve.
But, take solace in the fact that not everyone gets off on being insufferable jerkwads. There are good people around… Ignore the mental-midgets, because frankly, they are not worth anyone’s time or effort.
This event is pretty intense, and I like it. Unfortunately it’s mostly a bust without a sizable group of people and decent coordination. It is fun strategizing with people though, and defending the catapults. I agree for the most part though, it’s fun to fail once in a while in PvE.
Kind of like the event chain at the Gates of Arah… I personally like assaulting it and taking it back rather then defending it. But, that’s just my personal preference.
As for the event chain starting at Nebo Terrace… Yeah, I agree it can be a wild event, and I personally like trying to hold it with other people.
I do understand your sentiment though and I think we will start to see this with HoT. Living Story season 1 had some examples of this as well with the invasions across the entire continent. That was pretty epic and good fun, despite the zergs.
Even with the zergs, I thought it was fun. It was a huge, intense, chaotic mess on the battlefield, and while it may seem odd, that was what I liked about those big invasion events.
Pity… since I doubt we’ll see those kind of things again. Too much QQ from people who want to solo everything or crying ’We’re tired of this! CHANGE IT!!’ :p
(edited by ShinjoNaomi.1896)
I can’t say I’m really worked up by the fact that somebody else received some titles and some Achievement Points in error.
And this is from someone that is, at this very moment, sitting at 59 APs away from 15,000.
Anet will do whatever they will do about it.
Wow, so nice to see a thread like this for a change.
Congrats, OP! And many happy returns to you and your family!
Ah you got it? Lovely! Happy adventuring!
No, you don’t need to buy a story chapter to get there. However, the house in question, I think, can be blocked off by vines during an event that happens there.
I’m not there at the moment, so I might not be remembering it right. I’ll try and swing through Dry Top and look in a little bit to be sure…
As if enemy zergs /ever/ had a problem clearing siege before now…
If someone is being a kittenbag on your team, and you kick him, what does it matter if he knows who it is?
Only so many people it could be anyway in a team of five people, right?
And if they want to throw a fit afterwards and verbally harass you, then you can report him for that as well.
It’s a win/win for the anti-griefling crowd, in my opinion, because eventually, the bully will hang himself with his own words.
Oh don’t I wish this would happen…
I’d just like to know where these bug-free MMOs that people seem to be alluding to are, cause I’ve never played one or heard of one. There are issues, but the vitriol is a bit heavy considering that the majority of content is still doable and that fixes are being implemented seemingly as quickly as possible.
Definitely do like the camera change.
There isn’t one.
But you know, kittens like to just come on here and vomit over everything with extreme amounts of hyperbole and other garbage.
It would be one thing if they just stated the problems. But no… As usual, everything is ‘THE WORST THING EVER!! OMGZ!’To be fair, this expansion came with more bugs that usual, but Anet usual fixes them pretty fast.
Not saying there isn’t bugs.
Also not saying they shouldn’t be brought up.
But bringing them up like little children having a temper tantrum and screaming bloody murder is helping nobody and is making these forums even worse then usual.

Also, liking the camera change too. Kinda weird running around in first person, and don’t think I’ll be trying much of that in combat. But still, liking it a lot.
I like it this way better. If a jerkwad player is going to be verbally abusive, it isn’t going to matter if they know who wants them gone or not.
Like GamerOnline.3650 said above… Let them hang themselves on their own rage-fueled words and just keep reporting them. You’ll get the last laugh when they do it so much they get themselves banned for abusive behavior.
Looks like all those PvPers looking for easy kills will have to get their kicks some other way.
I’ll echo the OPs sentiment.
You folks at ANet have created something truly amazing in this game, and the time and effort truly does show.
A big thumbs up and thank you for the game, and like Inculpatus said above… Looking forward to all that is yet to come.
Welcome to the game! Glad you’re here and hope you enjoy playing!
-Races don’t really change things too much, aside from a few Utility Skills you can get later on, none of which are huge game changers. The tiniest Asura can crank out the same amount of damage as the biggest Norn or Charr.
-As for Class.. That’s a little harder to say. Best advice I can give is just to try them all out and see what you like. Look up some builds and then run with what you enjoy.
Yeah, two accounts, two computers, one account with goodies, team up and go in.
Ah. I was hoping for a way to have 2 clients up simultaneously on one computer.
There are ways to have multiple clients up on one computer using 3rd party software.
However, a couple of things to keep in mind…
First, ANet does not condone the use of such programs, and as such, if something bad happens they will very likely not help you.
Second, remember one very important thing… You can not have both accounts being controlled at the same time with the same keyboard commands.
For example, if you press the button to have your character jump, then only one character should jump. Not both characters on both accounts.
One button press equals one action on one character. That’s the general gist of what Anet allows.
This is all probably pretty obvious stuff, I know, but I think it still good to have it repeated.
I need to make a response I can copy-paste each time this thread comes up…
The final fight was originally a lot harder, with large numbers of difficult mobs spawning on the airship, as well as powerful AoE’s from Zhaitan. You had to balance the party between firing cannons, killing mobs, keeping certain NPCs alive, and generally staying alive yourselves. People complained a lot (due to frequent wiping, and so forth), so it was nerfed in the first few months after launch.
This basically…
Pre-nerf, the last fight with Zhaitan was kinda rough. Each pass over the airship he made spawned a /lot/ more risen. And he continued to spawn risen after his wings were clipped.
But the whiny QQ was deafening, and the fight was nerfed to it’s current, comical levels.
All that aside, Arah Story always felt unfinished to me. It seemed like there was supposed to be one more part to that last fight after Zhaitan falls.
The unreachable POI there just reinforces that thought…
I dunno… I keep hoping that ANet will go back and finish it. But, not holding my breath for that.
Odd the OP never returned to their own thread up to this point. I guess some people just like starting fires.
It’s called starting drama, and unfortunately… it is done with varying levels of success on these forums and usually involves the heavy use of misinformation and hyperbole…

More emotes would be nice.
Sitting in chairs is apparently a tough one to implement, unless the game is made to accommodate that from the very beginning. Not saying I wouldn’t love to see it happen, but not holding my breath for it either.
Aside from that though… Yes please, more emotes.
When you get angry at something and suddenly yell ‘I FEEL FURIOUS!’
The game has now become Guild Wings 2……..ugh
Give it a week or two at most, for the shiny to wear off.
It’s like the Commander Icons after they implemented the new colors.
Everyone and their brother was showing them off.
This too, shall pass.
It was a limited time ‘sneak peek’ at things to come.
‘Breaking news! We’re releasing future items early for one day only! Through Friday, check the Gem Store each day this week for an exciting limited-time item! And don’t forget, our Lunar New Year items will only be on sale for a little while longer!’
So the wings (and anything else that comes up this week) will be back again.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/limited-time-special-items-in-the-gem-store-this-week/
My issue with those wings is, that they appear more like some garment than actual wings that the character can control. I wouldn’t want them to flap constantly like other wings do (since they are too big for that and it would look silly), but some idle-animations like stretching them a little bit (not too much) or just some more movement from time to time would be great and make them look more alive (yes I’m aware that there’s already some slight animation going on). But I guess you can’t give idle-animations to backpieces… either an animation plays constantly, or not at all.
I have been hoping for backpieces that react more to character movement as well.
The best example I have seen in-game was during the Battle for Lion’s Arch with the three Assault Knight bosses. The idle animations they had before the fights were pretty nice.
Well, here’s still hoping they can bring that tech over to PC’s eventually.
This just makes me miss the wings in CoH.
It really does… ;-;
Woah, the wings are only available for 1 day, and the gem price increases a lot lol
Black wings everywhere! xDI’m gonna wait for the white or the soft pink ones ^-^
Yeah, it’s a limited time special. To quote them…
