Longbow have one big problem: there’s not a skill that deal more damage than the auto attack. We have 1) auto-attack. 2) “dps” skill that deal lesser damage than auto-attack but inflict vulnerability. 3) Hide. (a utility skill, more than a dps skill) 4) Knock back skill. good. 5) AoE skill that inflict cripple but whit less dps than auto-attack.
Solution:
increase the damage of Rapid Fire by 50% and give away the vulnerability from that skill. Then take Hunter’s Shot, take away hide and put 5 stack of vulnerability + 50% increased damage skill and 2 sec of hide (or something like that).
Then we obtain a good dps skill 2 and a good damage+vulnerability+hide on skill 3.
That can increase the efficence of Longbow.
The Guardian is the Best GW2 Supporter Class. Expecially in wvsw and dungeons.
You can make your build, but you’re required to be a supporter, or a bunker. DPS is not the best build for a guardian. A dps guardian can deal a high damage, expeccialy in a team of warriors that give might and inflict vulnerability to the enemy (dungeon fights), but you have only 12k of hp… If you don’t play as a Meditation build or if you’re not a skilled player that know when use it’s block skills in every single moment, whit a specific build, you can’t play as a dps (not in dungeons that require a lot of capacity).
If you chose to be a Supporter you’re welcome in almost all the teams for enithing more harder than CoF 1. About the Support Build. there’s a lot of builds and hybrids, but the best is always 0/0/6/6/2 for pve and 0/0/2/6/6 for wvsw whit Soldier equipment.
Weapons: If you’re not a dps you can ignore the following weapons: Sword. Scepter, Torch. Scepter+Focus can give you high dps, but if you’re not a dps you don’t need it, because that weapons don’t give to your team any advantage. But if you chose to make a dps guardian (guardian dps is good, but harder than other classes to play) you can play whit GS and Scepter+Focus, that is a good combo, expecially for spvp.
But don’t use a berserker guardian in wvsw, because you drop dead before you can use your healing skill.
Whit a Support/Bunker build (and the best/only-really-good build for the guardian is the support/bunker build) your perfect weapon is the Staff, whit Hammer or Greatsword.
Staff give Empower (12 stack of Might and a lot of heal), a Line that the enemy can’t cross, good for wvsw and some dungeons, and is a AoE weapon, whit huge range, good to attack a large amount of enemy at the same time. And give swiftness.
GS grant you a good dps and you can pull your enemy to you. That is good for wvsw (you can grab and pull dosn an enemy on the wall. It’s funny) and in pve you can do the same whit monsters to obtain “aggro”.
Hammer is expecially good in pve, that give you Protection (perma-protection whit a good build) and you can obtain a Blast skill (skill 2), that is always good. In wvsw you can hold the enemy in place, knock them back and immobilize. That’s really good in Zerg fights. And your Blast Finisher is good. (Hammer skill 2 is the only Blast Finisher of the guardian. Focus skill 5 give you a blast, but do a combo whit that blast is hard).
Then:
Guardian is the Perfect Supporter. Give defensive boons, clean conditions whie every whout to itself and to allies, high defensive and self-healing ability, a lot of stability skills and some CC (GS skill 2, Staff skill 5 and Hammer skill 3-4-5).
The weakness of the Guardian is the low amount of possible builds. On 20 utility skills, only 12 can really be played. And 4 of them only whit Meditation Build. And only sometimes you can use Hallowed Ground and Purging Flames: in wvsw, whit a specific build.
If you make a Guardian you probably end whit a Support Build whit Shouts.
There’s a lot of funny builds that grant you to use spirit weapons or signets, but only for fun.
You can make a personal Build, expecially in PvE, but in High level Dungeons (fractal, for example) and WvsW you have to be a Supporter.
Sad but True.
ANet make the ranger and say “ehi, we have in mind to make 8 classes, but we like to create the archer and the summoner. But we have not enough classes to make the both. We have fuse that two classes to make you able to play as a archer and as a summoner! Isn’t that a greath thing?”
And we’re all f****
Dps ranger isn’t good whi you’re so easy to kill that if a thief see you in wvsw it’s esey shines of evil purposes. 2 seconds later you’re dead.
Whit the ranger you’0ve a pet and it’s your power! In 1vs1 (expecially in spvp) if you play as a supporter/beastmaster/condi you can kill a large amount of classes. I’ve killet 2 enemy at once the first time I try it in spvp!!!
But in Dungeon, wvsw, pve megaevent, spvp when you’re in the middle of the fight (es 4vs4), your pet is so useless that you hope it die quickly.
We’re ranger. Our pet is our strenght. Our pet is our riun.
(p.s. sorry for my bad english)
I’ve killed a lot of ele, whit my dps guardian
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR8dlsApcoVDxbI8DVR8QlZd8i2UVAgz1/QQkDA-TJBFwA02fAbZgEXEAAPBAA
I’m not full berserker, I’m Barbarian, to obtain more survavibility against the current condi meta.
Whit the sigil of Doom you reduce the enemy healing ability by 33% for 6 sec every 9 sec and that’s good for a dps class.
I’ve find sometimes good eles that kill me, but frequently I kill eles, I only take a lot of time to kill.
A ele that know elle it’s class, all it’s combo and play spvp frequently is unkillable whit a dps guardian, but a common ele user can be killed.
The problem is that you take a lot of time to kill a ele and frequantly in that time an ele’s ally come and kill you XD
The actual Meta in spvp is always condition damage. But some classes can play whitout conditions (war, thief and bunker guardian).
War can build up 15-20 stack of might and kill you easy in bunker build.
Thief is always a finger in the…..
Guardian can only be a bunker/supporter, or a bad dps (if not used by a real Pro player).
Mesmer is one of the best classes for spvp/tspvp. Thief can be very good, if you know how to play. Ele can be good.
1) Scepter skill 50% faster (or more), to be used like a real ranged weapon.
2) Sword skill 3 to don’t Adsorb Projectiles but Block/Reflect and be a channeled skill, or make the projectiles 100% faster
3) Spirit Weapons to be immune to Direct Damage (that can make them useful in spvp/wvsw/pve) and obtain better AI (the shield that follow you, the same for the bow.
4) Speed passive skill (virtue, trait, sigil)
5) A good dps ranged weapon
6) Water Fields for the shield on skill 4 , making it a really good defensive weapon.
7) A new Elite. I don’t find nothing useful in the actual elite skills, if you don’t play support. Ok, whit a guardian in PvX you can almost play Only like a Support, but whit a good elite you can try a new build. Like a new Signet.
8) Increase the healing of the dps healing skill. Actually it’s a really bad healing skill.
9) more CC like chill and cripple. A guardian can’t obtain a passive speed, whit a cripple/chill we can reduce the enemy speed. We can inflict chill whit the hammer critical hit, but whit high cooldown and for few seconds.
10) Boost Signets, Spirit Weapons and Consecrations, because no one use it. A guardian can only use shouts and meditations (and add WoR if needed) no more.
I want to play the Guardian whit a new build, but I can’t because I can’t change my utility skills and obtain good utility skills.
It can be a mix of different equipment, like knight, berserker, valkyrie, etc. And a lot of Cleric/Soldier. An whit Empowering Might Trait ability they can obtain 1 Might every crit (cooldown 1 sec). 3 Guardian can obtain 3 might for 5 sec every sec (if critical hit). That can make them obtain 9 might in 3 seconds. Whit critical and staff they can obtain a lot of might XD
And whit a good build that can make them be “OP”.
But nah, a group of guardian can give you lesser problems than a group of thiefs, expecially in wvsw XD
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR7dlsApcoVDxbI8DVR8QlZd8i2UVAgz1/QQkDA-TJBFwAOuIAl2foaZAAPBAA
That’s my TsPvP Guardian DPS build. It’s good and you can obtain a lot of condi removal and healing ability.
That build is good for 1vs1 and can be good for 2vs2/3vs3, when you learn how to play whit that build.
To fight better the condi bunker meta, I actually play whit Barbarian Amulet (Vitality + Power + Precision), giving lesser damage but gaining 6k more HP.
I use Sigil of Air to gain a extra attack every 3 seconds, but you can change it whit Sigil of Strenght, to increase your might stacks and deal more damage, or do something like use the Sigil of Doom to poison your enemy, reducing by 33% they’re Healing ability.
Whit that build you swap your weapons every 9 seconds to obtain always your best dps skills and ose a Swap Sigil can be good.
About Runes you can change it whit Ogres, if you like the Rock Dog, or you can use the Pacht, that grant 125 precision and 10 sec of Might, Fury and Swiftness every 20 seconds to you and your allies.
Or you can change and use a build 4/0/6/0/4 to obtain the Trait for the GS (5% more damage and a little of healing).
You can change that build a little to fit your playstile, but that’s the actually best DPS Guardian sPvP Build.
Why bunker?
Easy:
The first Meta was DPS. Warrior, Ele, Guardian, Ranger, Mesmer, all whit Direct Damage (DD) DPS builds.
Then, when no one cares abount condition damage, no one use it, no one spent points to obtain trait and utility that clean conditions,if you enter the game whit a good condition damage (Necro/Engi OP!!! :-p ) you find a easy way to obtain a bunker that deal damage in a way that no one can resist.
Now everyone want a bunker, to survive to all that condition damage.
That’s the only way you have to fight a enemy that deal 1.5-2k damage x second of condition damage whit high survavibility. You need to survive longer!
Whit Condition you don’t need to be powerfull, you need only a semi-bunker build whit fields and finishers to spread conditions everywhere. No more. You inflict damage and survive longer than your enemy doing nothing more than run in circle and doing some skills to spam conditions and some CC skills.
Actually a Direct Damage (DD) DPS can’t live enough to fight a condition damage dealer because a CD live longer than a DD and inflict a good passive damage.
To fight a CD you need skills that remove conditions, you need more HP, you need more Healing power. You need a Bunker.
That’s why actually the Warrior class can fight in a very good way against a condition damage dealer:
- High HP
- Might everywhere!
- Powerfull Direct Damage skills
- Runes and Sigils that grant might and defence.
Exemple: A Warrior can obtain easy 15+ stack of might whit Rune of Strenght, Sigil of Battle, Signet of Rage and Fire Fields Blast Finishers (Lonbow). And whit the Sigil of Intelligence your next 3 attacks after a weapon swap have a 100% chance to Critical hit the enemy, dealing 80%+ damage (whit 6 points in Discipline). And whit 7% more damage why you have Might in you.
Eviscerate is a skill that deal high damage. If you add 15 might, 7% damage and to all that you add 80% damage by a critical hit…
you have a Soldier war that survive to all and deal 9k of Eviscerate.
That’s why everyone want a Bunker build.
If you play condition damage bunker you deal 1.5-2k of dps by conditions.
If you play direct damage bunker you deal 7-9k of eviscerate (whit war) or become immortal whit Guardian.
Why I need to be a DPS class if I can be a Bunker that deal more than a DPS class?
Guardian can’t really make a good Condition Damage Build, why a Guardian can only use Burn. Your damage is all into a condition that deal 700 damage x sec, when your skills can deal more damage alone, whit a lot of critical rate.
But you can play as a Guardian and use Conditions in wvsw, yes. But it’s better to spet 6 points in Virtues and obtain the traits to inflict burn every 3 attacks instead of 5 and inflict Burn as a AoE attack, instead of singel target effect. That can give you the ability to deal more burning damage and do it well against a enemy zerg. (in wvsw there’s only zerg vs zerg fights).
Rune of strenghts don’t give you nothing good. Is better a common Undead, that increase your condition damage and toughness. Might increase your condition damage, but 3 might by weapon swap and 1 might every 5 sec don’t change your damage. A Rune of Undead can.
Save Yourselves can be good only if you active immediatly Purging Flames, or you take all the allies conditions on you and can’t clean it well whit only 2 skills that clean conditions. (you can only do it if you’re in a team whit another guardian that clean conditions whit shouts).
Your build can be used, but is better to you to use near someone that clean conditions and increase the range of your burning ability.
You can try something like 6/x/x/x/6 whit in Virtues VI-VIII-XI.
It can be good, but you have build it using PvE stats and foods, that you can’t use in sPvP.
But your build can be good.
Try the Scepter, if you learn to use it you can do a good damage. I’ve always use the Sword, but now the Scepter can do a good damage. Sometime miss a distant target, but for hit a enemy atrange 400 is a good weapon.
I use the classic 0/0/6/6/2 whit Armor Soldier and Weapon+Trinkets Knight. You can only use Knight jewels, to gain more vitality, nut it can be a good combination. That give you high defence and good critical chance, that increase your offensive ability.
Your idea can be good.
Try something like:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNApeSlsApVo1CxeI8DNRCRk1M2ftpXHscA-TJxHAB1+IAQqMgO7PAwZAAA
If you want to be more to support you can use Staff instead of Hammer.
I’ve put on sigils at random, you can change it.
If you want you can try a 0/0/2/6/6 build.
If you don’t want a Cleric Amulet you can try the Soldier.
I think Trooper is better.
A guardian supporter use shouts and whit the trait the sinergy is very good.
But if your Guardian use more Consacration or other utility than Shouts is better Melandru.
Oh, right, I’ve see bad, you don’t use cleric but celestial. My faoult.
1)That can seems to be good, but I’ve at last all your healing ability (not the GS, I use traits in other lines) and I prefer always obtain more healing ability I can. The only difference between my build (2/1/6/1/4) and your’s is that I don’t heal 450 hp by dodge but heal 1960 hp by meditation. There’s a difference between your and mine (or a common DPS/Meditation build guardian) healing ability.
2) I’ve better condition clenaser than you, lasting in time and easier to use. You can do better. But yes, you have some good chance to remove conditions. But whit 17k hp and a meta build of condition damage dealer you need more than good chances. And whit saveyourselfe you take all the allies conditions on you. To do that you need to obtain more condition removers.
(P.s. The signet clean 1 condi every 10 sec, not every 5 sec)
3) Is better a skill like Stand Your Ground, that give you Stability for 6 sec and retalation for 8 sec(whit your build). or Contemplation of Purity, that converto conditions in boons. Save yourself whitout trait and rune can only make you in trouble, expecially if you fight in 3vs3 against someone that give conditions. You take over you all the allies conditions and need to clean it faster or you became a easy prey. (vulnerability reduce your defence, cripple/chill your movement, weakness your damage and endurance regen, poison your healing ability, etc). If a necro spam it’s signet over your team and you use Save yourselves, is better that you use all your condition removal skills to clean all that conditions.
4) 180 power in passive can seems to be good, but in fact don’t change your dps more than 5-10%, expecially if you fight in 3vs3. A knock down can be good, yes, but against a good team whit a guardian that know how to fight you fight against enemy whit Stability. Or a enemy whit a self stability skill. And a simple Break-stun can ruin your move. And the cast is of 3/4 sec. You need skills that make you able to move quickly and not easy to be interrupted like a 3/4 sec casting skill. And the cooldown is of 40 sec…
5) Shelter is better. Why? Why isn’t only a healing skill. It’s a Unblockable Healing skill. When you active it you block and no one can stop your healing skill and you can block a lot of enemy attacks. You can chose to use it like a healing skill or like a block.
Yes, the signet heal like two shelters, but you can block enemy attacks for 2 sec, whit shelter. While you use the Signet you can be killed before you cast it (9k hp, you don’t use that healing skill when you’re only 50% ho, right?) or be interrupted. And you’ve not stability to change that. And is a bad thing waste stability or skills like Shield of Wrath (Focus skill 5) only to use a healing skill.
And if you have 6 points in Valor (Meditation build) every time the enemy attack you, you obtain Might.
6) Sorry abount your celestial amulet XD
It’s a choice. Don’t make you specialize in something and give you useless stats like condition damage and only a lot of healing power, but it’s a choice.
7) If you win against warriors is because you’re a good player. But your build don’t help you.
Sorry for some of my errors analizing your build.
You have a enjoyable build, but not the best build ever. You can do good things, but is better a specialized class (expecially for the Guardian) than a class that do everything and nothing.
You can help your team only whit Purging Flames (not traited… and that’s bad…), that remove conditions and give Fire field (fire aura and might, or fire projectiles, and that’s good), Virtue of resolve and whit 450 hp by dodge. But no more. You don’t do support (no stability, protection, regeneration or might to allies), don’t fight whit Hammer (good to hold points and Immobilize the enemy, or active your Fire field whit a Blast Finisher, skill 2) or Staff (12 might, healing orb and Line of Warding) and your dps and survavibility is lower than a 2/1/6/1/4 Meditation DPS build, but you have the same weapons.
It can be good if you play in wvsw, but in TsPvP your build isn’t good.
1) No self healing ability. Increase your Virtue of Resolve healing ability by 20% and obtain hp whit GS isn’t a healing source that make you able to survive. You need at last Meditations to obtain a good dps build. I will kill you whit my dps guardian easy.
2) Low condition removal ability, only Virtue of Resolve (traited) and Purging flames. But Purging flames whitout Consecration duration increased and cooldown reduction can’t save you for more than 5 sec. Then you’ve not a condition removal. It can be good if you remove Bane Signet and add Contemplation of Purity.
3) Save Yourselves! Boons in spvp lasts 5 seconds (6 and 3/4 whit your build, 8 for retalation), not 10 like in pve or wvsw. And whitout a good condition removal build you take all your teams conditions and can’t clean it easy.
4) Don’t use Signet. You can knock down an enemy in wvsw and kill it in a zerg of 20 players, but in spvp you’re 5vs5, 3vs3 and sometimes 1vs1. You need a better skill. And increase of 180 your power don’t give you all that damage that can change something in a fight.
5)Healing skill: it’s a choice, but the Signet need a casting of 1 sec and can be interrupted by a CC skill (fear, knock down, knock back, stun, daze, etc). I use Shelter, that heal lesser but Block enemy attacks and can’t be interrupted whit a common CC skills (only by Unblockable CC skills). Whit 2 sec of block you can avoid more than 7k of damage.
6) Why Cleric Amulet? O.o You have not Healing ability in that Build! Use Soldier if you want to survive or Berserker/Barbarian if you want to be a dps. Or change your build in Shout+AH if you want to be a bunker/supporter. You can make an Hybrid, but you must study it whit high defence ability and survavibility.
7) Only one Break Stun, kitten 60 sec of Cooldown, and no Stability. That make you a easy prey for who use CC skills (almost all classes in spvp). If a Hammer+Bow warrior (HamBow warrior) find you, you’re f***. The same if you find a engi or a necro, or other classes/builds whit high amount of CC skills.
BUT, all players like to play whit a personal style.
Actually, one of the best DPS build in TsPvP is:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR7dlsApcoVDxbI8DVR8Ql5Y8i2UVAgz1/QQkDA-TpQOgAA7PAXGAA
And one of the best Support/bunker build is:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAS5elsApVo1CxeI8DNRCRl9M8fBI2fQLkCXFAA-TpQWAAeZAY/BA
or the same, but 0/0/6/6/2 whit Altruistic Healing.
your build can be good in wvsw, where there’s always a zerg that help, heal and clean conditions for you, and where AoE cleansing skill at specific situations can help. But in spvp is Always a specific situation. You need Traited skills to re-use it quickly and good defensive ability, because when the enemy attack, he don’t attack a zerg, the enemy attack YOU. And you need to survive longer than your enemy. Or kill your enemy before he kill you. But you’ve 12k of hp and you always need some ability to heal yourself, in active and/or passive way.
Now, don’t give up for what I’ve write in this post :-)
Try some builds, play some matches (in hotjoin if you’re a newby of spvp, to learn how to play, how maps work and to not be easy-killed by a skilled player XD)
(P.s. sorry for my bad english)
Actually, the build 0/0/30/30/10 (now called 0/0/6/6/2) is the best (and only really viable) build for a guardian.
In that new patch nothing has changed for guardians. Your old build is still viable.
If you want to be a defensive guardian, a build 0/0/6/6/2 whit Hammer and Staff can be a very good build.
There’s a lot of new Grand Master traits, but no one is a really good alternative to the previous GM Traits.
Your old build is still the best build for a guardian.
Then, if you play in pve, you can change your build to try to obtain more dps, or to become a dps class. But the only viable build for guardian in dungeons/sPvP/WvsW if you want to play against hard situations is still the old build 0/0/6/6/2 whit Staff + Hammer (or mace+shield/focus) whit Soldier or Cleric equipment.
That’s my build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAW7dlsApVo1CxXI8DNRCBl1Mw+DPPFXHgLcAA-TByDwAuU/RwDA4nyvCXEAAm/EpTQ56DIUCCA-e
Armor Soldier to obtain a lot of vitality, weapons and jewels Knight to obtain toughness and precisione.
It’s a defensive build, whit shouts and consecration to help allies, but grant a lot of damage and good critical rate.
You grant 150 toughness to yourself and your allies when in fight and your critical rate increase whit your toughness. You can reach 45% critical rate and a good damage. And when you deal a critical hit you grant might to allies (5 sec of might every 1 sec of cooldown), healing yourself bu 350-450 hp every sec.
And the staff is the best support weapon of the guardian.
If you want a support guardian the traits don’t change (0/0/6/6/2) but you can change your weapons and the selected traits to increase your defence (example using the mace whit healing symbols trait).
I like that build. Isn’t the best defensive build, but grant a very good support and let you able to deal damage.
It’s good for a zerg of guardians in wvsw, or for spvp, but there’s a problem: You don’t chose what attack you block.
If you see the enemy active a dangerous skill you can active your Virtue and block that attack, but in wvsw there’s too many enemy that attack you from all the sides. And you can’t chose the skill you’re near to block.
It’s a passive trait and it’s hard to use it in a good way. You need to know very well how to play to use a trait like that.
I don’t know where that trait can be good, but that trait reduce the survavibility of the Guardian, the main bunker/supporter of all groups that do pve/spvp/wvsw and that mean that the guardian die more quickly, whitout Altruistic Healing.
I prefer a Guardian that live longer and continue to do it’s work and use shouts to give stability and use empowering might than a guardian that give aegis when struck by a common or a casual attack, losing all the benefits of a “strategic” trait, and die quickly because whitout one of the best healing passive ability of the guardian.
Necro can use Signet of Locusts to increase its speed by 25% and if traited it can, whit a condi build scepter+dagger, add 10% speed by passive traits.
The Guardian is a good class to remove conditions in AoE whit shouts, removing 2 conditions (whit GM trait in Honor and rune of soldier) every 24/28/48 seconds and at the same time give some good boons. If traited, the Guardian can also remove 3 conditions whit Virtue of Resolve. (20 in Virtues trait).
Or if you find a Meditation Guardian, he can clean 1 condition every 16 sec and convert al it’s conditions in boons every 48 sec. But it’s not enough to kill a condition damage dealer that know how to play.
Then, a Warrior can remove 3 condi every 6-9 sec (whit F1 skill), remove 1 condition by shake it off (also passive, if traited), and be immune to conditions for 8 sec whit berserker Stance.
Guardian can clean conditions better to others than to itself (example: light field + whirliwing finisher of GS, giving a lot of cleansing bolts to allies. But useless for the guardian to clean it’s conditions).
If you want to kill a Guardian, try to use poison. All the Guardian’s viable builds need to include some healing ability. if you use poison you reduce the healing ability of your enemy (it’s only defence) by 33%.
Guardian can’t be a good condition damage class whit only one condition. You can increase the Burn damage trom 700 to 900, good, but if all the other classes inflict 2k+ damage whit conditions, the guardian is still a bad condition damage class.
And to obtain all the traits to be a condition damage dealer, a Guardian need to be something like 30/30/0/0/10 or 30/20/0/0/20. Whit my Berserker Guardian, in spvp, I can kill a Guardian whit that build easy. And a Berserker Guardian Isn’t the top dps class of the game XD
Your Burn damage is 950 x second.
My war can do better whit a Sw/Sw build in exotic equipment. And whitout foods.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vIAQJAscAdfBAnHJNVTA-zUCB4MAYNg0CAUFgpQFRjtGsIasaGYqUER1+AFRrGA-w
(exemple)
Guardian can do condition damage, but can’t be a condition damage dealer class.
Only one condition damage can’t make you a condition damage dealer.
Guardian will never be a condition damage dealer. You can use the damage of Burn to increase your damage, but you can’t make a build all on only one condition.
All the other classes can obtain to inflict 2 or more conditions, that’s why they work.
Warrior can inflict 10 stack of blleding easy and can inflict torment, whit poison or other torment or bleeding by sigils.
You can inflict 800-900 condition damage x second whit Burn, ok, but a good condition damage dealer can inflict 1500-2200 condition damage x second.
If you like to play a class that can inflict conditions and whit good defensive skills, try a necro XD (necro whit settlers equipment and wells that restore HP = high condition damage and high healing/defensive ability)
The Guardian isn’t the real “Bunker” of the game. Warrior is the Berserker fighter and the Bunker tank at the same time. You can play a Warrior and obtain more or less the same healt regeneration of the Guardian, but obtain more self stability and Immunity skills.
Warrior > Guardian.
BUT
When you play a Guardian you must think that: You’re not playing a Bunker, you’re playing a Cleric. Yes, a F***ing Cleric class. Guardian is a defensive class that use magic skills to heal itself and support allies. Isn’t that a Cleric?
If you think about that, you can find the point: You’re not the main bunker, but you can play as the better tank of the game. But not whit your defence. You must play whit your Health Regeneration skills to survive and protect your allies!
If you make your build thinking that, you find that there’s many traits and skills that can grant you some kind of healing ability or health regeneration. And you have Aegis!
You can obtain Healt by: Virtue, Regeneration, AH/Meditations, Symbols+Rune of Dolyak.
The only problem is that the Warrior can do almost the same whit Healing Signet+trait adrenaline heal+ banner regen+ rune of dolyak.
But don’t think about that… no one want a Bunker Warrior in group, because they think that the Guardian is better.
Shhhhhh!!! ;-)
That’s the sad truth of the Guardian class.
And that’s because we can never be a dps or a condition damage class and the only build aviable for the Guardian is the Supporter (or Tank, if specialized in self heal ability).
We will see rangers whit survival skills, that’s a good news. A new build aviable. Engi turretter, good news (and more good things for engi).
Ele can become a good bunker (no crit while in earth attunement!!!).
About Guardian… Im’ a Guardian… and.. nothing change.
1) Aegis grand master will not work whit active block skills (for example, a Producer say that that trait don’t work whit the block skill of the mace).
2) No one can hope to play guard whit condition damage. You can inflict 33%+ damage whit burn, but it’s still only one condition. Not enough for a condi build.
3) 3k more HP whit a trait… but the other GM trait in Honor trait line is Pure of Voice, that remove conditions whit shouts… then… you can’t pretend to make players chose about 3k of hp and a combo trait+rune that remove 2 conditions at time! Expecially whit the actually condi meta in pvp!
For Guardians there’s no changes. I don’t know a single player that really want to play whit that new GM traits.
I hope the work whit all the other traits is better…
That nerf can be a kick in the *, but we can fight well whitout perma vigor. We have aegis, protection and 5 sec of vigor every 10 sec can be good enough to fight in pve. In Spvp that can make some players cry hard, but that’s not a big problem if you know how to play.
Condition Damage don’t do more damage than Direct Damage.
A DD build can do 50-100% more damage than a CD build (depends on class, etc)
But if you compare 2 enemy fighting. A pure DD and a pure CD.
DD has a very high damage, but low health, low toughness, no healing ability, low ability to remove conditions.
CD has high healt or toghness, can obtain different kind of CC and defensive skills whitout damage it’s build and can deal a good damage over time.
If DD deal 1.5-2k x attack every 0.50-1 sec, you can deal in 2 sec 4-6k of damage. But your healt is low, you have not healing ability and your defensive ability is like no existing. Ad you Must stay in a Melee Range. But the enemy has high toughness, or high vitality. Against an enemy whit 25k hp, you need 10-12 sec to kill he, if he don’t run away or use dodge, block, blind, protection, hide, etc.
A CD cass need 3 sec to maximize it’s condition damage, but then if the enemy don’t remove every time all it’s conditions, you can deal 2-2.5k damage x sec. (CD + basic DD damage)
A DD class can obtain 12-20k hp. You need 3 sec to build up your condition damage (and in that 3 sec you deal Condition and Direct Damage) and betwen 6-10 sec to kill your enemy whit 2k damage x sec. If the enemy has 17k hp, you need 10-12 sec to kill your enemy. If he don’t clean all your conditions (and a pure DD can’t clean more than 3 conditions every 1x sec), when you build up your stack of CD you can run, dodge, use all your defensive skills and attack by range to apply new stacks of conditions because all CD weapons gran 900+ of range to attack the enemy by a safe distance.
That all make a CD better than a DD.
(P.s. sorry for my bad english)
Spirit weapon is a choice. You like it? You can play it :-)
But in Tournaments that can be bad. Spirit weapons can do good damage, expecially if hammer Command skill do a critical hit. But if you find an enemy that play whit AoE you’re in trouble. If you be a roamer, that go around stealing bases, that can be good, but to hold a base or ,expecially, to fight for the mid, your spirit weapons fall quickly.
No one use spirit weapons because of that: everyone, actually, play whit some AoE skills, or when see a spirit weapon destroy the SW before attack you. Because players know that if they destroy your SW you’re whitout protection, expecially if you use 3 SW. And SW fall quickly…
But that build grant some good point: passive “pets” that attack enemy, knock down and protect you from arrows (if you don’t move away from shield range). And whit the trait you can deal good damage whit hammer and sword Command skill.
And 3 questions:
1) Why do you use Cleric Amulet? You’r only healing skill is Empowering and Healing Breeze isn’t the best skill to heal your ally. Whit your build, isn’t better a Barbarian or a Soldier?
2) Healing Breeze? I’ve never see a player in spvp usine Healing Breeze. I’ve never try that skill in spvp, but isn’t better a Shelter? 4.5k hp in 1 sec and 2 sec of block.
3) How do you fight against a condition damage dealer if you have only Virtue of Resolve to remove conditions? Actually the problem about the game is that there’s too much conditions in spvp and you need to kill the enemy before you fall because of condition damage (catually OP).
That can be a good build, or the worst one (because is really hard find a spot in spvp where spirit weapons do a better work than shouts or meditations or consecrations) but I need to see how you play before say something about it’s effectiveness.
A class like ranger, engi or necro don’t need condition duration because they apply conditions continuously. It can be good, but the don’t really need it.
There’s a lot of passive traits to improve condition duration, then you don’t need to use an equipment stat to improve it.
You can build a build whit Cond/pow/vit or better Con/prec/tough, giving out a damage of more than 2800/sec. (condition + direct damage). And you can not attack and deal “only” 2000/sec of condition damage.
Condition damage (expecially in spvp) is the powerfull source of damage because:
1) You can apply conditions and run/defend waiting for the enemy death. A dps need to attack to inflict damage, you don’t.
2) You need only 1 stat to cap your top damage. If you want you can play whitout precision or power, giving always 2000/sec of condition damage. But whit Prec is better, giving you the ability to inflict more conditions (whit some classes/builds)
3) The enemy can clean your conditions but you can re-apply easy. Necro can also transform boons in conditions! If the enemy block one of your attack or blind you it’s not a big problem because you’re already giving damage, whit conditions on the enemy. You only need a little more time to give it new conditions to inflict more damage/sec. If you play as dps and the enemy block/blind/dodge you, your total damage inflicted is 0. And so many classes can obtain Protection, reducing direct damage by 33%.
4) Poison do damage and reduce enemy healing ability, giving more trouble than all the other conditions. Whit only one Condition you destroy all the game of a bunker and make you kill all the enemy better, because they’re heal is reduced by 33%.
5) Fields and Finishers can give a lot of good combos, making you inflict more and more conditions and direct damage, converting boons, etc.
Actually, expecially in spvp (because in dungeon no one want a kitten condition damage dealer, they only want a brainless warrior berserker), condition damage inflict a very high damage.
Example: I play as a Guardian. Whit Cleric equipment my healt is 12.500, more or less.
If I find a Necro, I’m really F***d because a necro can give me 2k/sec damage of conditions (6 sec and I’m death), can inflict Poison that reduce all my healing ability (the base for a bunker build) and I can’t clean all the conditions that he give me. I can clean 2 conditions every 24-28-48 seconds. He can inflict all the conditions in 1 sec. (traits+signet+skills) and can convert my boons into conditions.
Whit my healing ability I can survive 12-15 sec, no more.
Against a dps, I can survive 30+sec easy, just whit CC skills (es Hammer), blocks, blind, aegis, etc.
A condition damage dealer is susheptible to blind, block, etc, but he can deal damage while you’re blocking it’s attacks.
Actually, Conditions win over DPS, in sPvP and 1vs1.
He joke you, killing you when at 10% hp, no more.
A War can obtaining a lot of swiftness by traits. Every 10 sec a war can obtain 10 sec of swiftness when do a critical hit. That’s why he run faster than you. Just a trait. And a lot of movement skills to increase the distance.
You play good, but he joke you. Don’t cry, it can happen.
Give Spirit Weapons immunity to direct damage and let them be damaged by condition damage and CC.
That let you be able to use it against almost all the pve situations and make them not unkillable because almost all the player in spvp play a condition meta build or do condition damage like a secondary damage effect.
From the release of GW2 Guardian is good why of spirit weapons. But in spvp that can make some problems to other classes (can make the guardian viable to other roles than bunker…). That’s because they’re immune to damage. Low duration and damage and high cooldown, but good effect.
If you let the enemy damage your SW whit conditions and CC you can balance that problem.
Then I want to see the Shield that follow you all the time and don’t stop every moment in a place, and activation skill Ground Target. And the activation skill of Spirit Bow… make it a Ground Target Skill.
Three changes to make Spirit Weapons viable:
1) Immune to direct damage (not immune to Conditions and CC)
2) Shield that follow you and GT skill
3) Activation skill of Spirit Bow a GT skill.
Zerk gear are getting nerfed, yes, but your damage is reduced by 10% (more or less), not by 30%. You can inflict the high amount of damage. The difference in pvp is low, just to let the condition damage be more appreciate by players. No more.
Play your berserker and be happy :-)
I play that build, in spvp:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vUAQNAR8dlsApcoVDxbI8DRRYzAgCsqQ8wFc9AiRshA-TsAg0CnIQShkDJDSSksINsYZxuDA
To remove conditions you can use your meditations, you have +20% damage when you attack enemy whit burning, and your blind give vulnerability, granting you more damage. 5 in Honor to obtain Vigor, that’s a good way to let you avoid enemy attack by dodge.
Whit that build you must be able to active Virtue of Courage, Shelter and Renewed Focus to block incombing damages and use blinds to avoid enemy attacks, but your damage is very high and you can heal yourself.
That’s the best dps build for Guardian I’ve ever try. You need to learn how to play to use that build properly.
There’s 2 classes in this game that lack of movement speed: Guardian and Mesmer. All the other classes can provide to obtain a passive speed run (the engi can obtain 50 sec of swiftness just switching 3 skills…)
Guardian is balanced for it’s role. Guardian is a Supporter and a Healer Based Tank. If you play it out of that roles you die quickly or don’t do damage enough.
The big problem of the guardian is the lack of viable builds and utility skills. Shout or Meditations, whit Wall of Reflect when needed. No more viable utility skills.
Condition Damage is out of discussion, but about the dps build Meditation:
1) if your war inflict lesser damage than a guardian you play like my grandpa… Really, guys, the war can easy give 18 stack of weakness and obtain easy 10/15 stack of might. That make you able to inflict more damage than all the other classes in the game!
2) If someone give you Poison all your strategy fall down in a swamp of sh****. Because the Guardian is a Healing Based class. You have the hp of a blind rat whit a bad disease… Really, I’ve never see a game whit the main bunker class whit the same hp amount of a mage… so bad, guy, so bad…
3) if your strategy is whitout AH or a full of Meditation Utility you die. No more to say. You die. Low hp, long cooldown healing skills. You can’t protect yourself enough if you don’t regen your hp whit passive skills. If you don’t play whit AH and Shouts or whit Meditation build you can’t play at all!
Tome, a good elite skill but a bad sinergy.
Tome don’t grant you anithing that you can use to make a sinergy whit a Guardian trait. At last you can gain heal by tome and AH when you spam boons, no more. A meditation or Shout strategy can no be use well whit a Tome elite because strip away all tour strategy. If you use Meditations you can be probably a dps and you use the Tome that grant good damage skills, but you can’t use Meditations to restore Hp or/and clean conditions. If you’re a support you use the Tome that heal, but you can’t use Shouts to buff ally, give stability or swiftness and you can’t use shouts to clean conditions.
Whit Tomes elite skills all your strategy fall down in 1 seconds.
You gain some good skills, but your strategy is your way to play and survive in that game. You can only use tomes in some easy dungeons or in wvsw and not in all situations.
Renewed Focus is a bad elite skill. You gan back your Virtues, ok, but your immunity last for 2 seconds and you can’t do skills or action in that 2 seconds. And you’re still susheptible to condition damage of conditions already on you before you active the skill.
All the other classes can use a good elite skills, we have some really bad elite skills. Good skills but broken strategy or strategy whit bad elite…
Te warrior can use an elite skill more for support than all the guardian elite at once: The elite Banner. Revive ally at Aoe range of 360 and give might, fury and stability! Whit the cooldown 60 sec longer than Tomes! And last for 60 seconds, working whit banner strategy giving Regen!
You can use Tome to heal, but you can’t use stability and it’s easy to interrupt your skills, expecially the skill of 5 sec of casting that restore full hp to 5 players around you. It’s easy to interrupt.
Warrior banner give you Stability and offensive+defensive (if traited) boons. That’s a good support elite skill, not the tome!!!
(P.s. forgive me for my bad english)
Whit 30 of nerf you reduce your total damage by…10-12%? it can be noticed, but if you inflict 2000 x hit and after the patch you inflict 1900 is all that bad?
That don’t make you lose your damage power in a really noticiable way. And if you use sigils and runes that give you fury or power you don’t see the difference.
Your damage can be reduced a little but that don’t make the berserker build lose all it’s power!
Ok, so many players say "they nerf Berserker, we’re all f****d, we can’t be Berserker anymore, we need to reroll bunker and condition damage…
WTF??
Guys, they decrease Critical Damage by 10 if you’re full Berserker, not by “70”!!! (example)
If actually you have 90 of Critical Damage, your critical attacks inflict 140% more damage than a normal attack. You inflict 1000? If critical, you inflict 2400. Easy.
if they reduce Critical Damage by 10, your critical damage is 80 and you inflict 2300 damage.
It is a change, but not a nerf that can change all the game, all the balances and all the classes builds. Come on, guys. it’s a nerf lesser than 5% of your total damage!!!!!!
Ok, your damage is reduced by 2-5%, but that don’t make the Berserker a useless build!!!
Stop cry because they reduce a little your critical damage. It’s not a big problem. it can not be a problem at all!
Does this new Valor grandmaster trait apply to the Guardian blocking as well?
Short answer: Communal Defenses will not grant aegis to the guardian that is blocking.
Wait a moment. The trait say that you grant aegis to yourself and allies while you block an attack. But GM say that if a guardian is blocking the trait don’t work….
WHAT? O_O
How can you active that buff if you’re not able to active it blocking but the trait say that you obtain aegis blocking an attack?
That mean that you can’t active that trait whit active skills but only whit passive skills like Virtue of Courage and it’s passive Aegis?
WFT????
That trait work when you block. You can block whit Aegis or a Skill, it’s always a block and the trait active it’s effect, giving you Aegis.
If you defend whit a block skill, the game give you priority over your Aegis, making you block attacks whit the skill before whit Aegis.
If you have aegis and block whit skill 3 of the mage, when the enemy attack you, you defend whit the mace of the skill before than whit the passive Aegis, because that grant you a counter-skill.
Condition Build can be made. You can use conditions to inflict a “good” damage. But you must always compare your build whit other classes. Necro, Ranfer, Engi, Ele, Thief, Mesmer, Warrior (all the other classes) can mix 2 or more different condition damage source (burn, bleed, poison, confusion, torment). A Guardian can only use Burning.
You can make a good condition build, you can win against someone whit a condition build, but compared whit all the other classes a guardian is not a good condition damage dealer.
To obtain 33% Burn damage, you must spent 30 points in Zeal, the useless trait line ever for a guardian. That trait can give you a lot of good things but nothing about condition damage, only about direct damage. When you read "10% damage against burned enemy" they say “direct” damage. Whit a condition build how much direct damage you hope to do? And on Zeal trait there’s already the trait called Kindled Zeal, that give you condition damage based on your power. The new trait is only a better version of that trait, nothing more, because your only condition damage is always Burning! They don’t make nothing new, only re-make something bad to be more appreciate to players that want to try a condition build.
But if you spent 30 points in Zeal and 20 in Virtues to maximize your condition damage and your ability to apply burn… how do you hope to defend youself?
Why guardian use only 2 trait line? (Honor and Valor)
Why we have low healt and if we don’t think to heal and/or remove conditions we can’t stay alive!
If you play whitout one of that 2 traits (or both) your defence and your longevity fall.
To obtain what? 900 damage x second whit 500 direct damage every 1/5 sec?
Ranger can inflict 2k condi damage x sec and 700 direct damage x sec + pet damage.
Necro and engi can do better. Mesmer can hide while you die slowly (2k damage x sec isn’t all that slowly…) and you die while try to find the right enemy to attack.
Guardian can be a condition damage dealer, but compared whit all the other classes is the worste condition damage ever. Why do it?
1) They put +33% burning damage on Zeal (Amplified Wrath), and we can think about they’re making of the condition guardian a useless viable build. (still useless compared whit the other condition damage classes). If they put a trait that make you inflict bleeding when you inflict Burning, it will be the best to make us be good to inflict condition damage. But 33% more burn damage don’t make us competitive condition damage dealer.
2) They put retalation that scale whit condition damage instead of power on Radiance, and we can think about a defensive condition build chained whit Virtue traits to obtain retalation by virtues (if you don’t take retalation by virtues you can only take it by shouts or leap combo whit GS). But it’s still a bad condition damage dealer class.
3) They put Communal Defence on Valor, and I think it’s useless compared whit Altruistic Healing, but it’s what I think. It’s a good trait, but not the best the can make. One more aegis when block every 20 sec can be good, but if you combine Altruistic healing whit Empowering Might (trait VIII on Honor line) your heal yourself by 360 per second just hitting the enemy, and if you add the staff skill Empower you heal 1/2 or 1/3 of your hp in 2.5 sec.
4) They put Force of Will on Honor line, that increase your Vitality by 300, giving around 3000 hp. That amount of hp can make you think to be good to increase our chances to fight condition damage, or to make dps live longer, but to obtain that trait you need to spent 30 trait points on a defensive trait line and a DPS don’t do that, and if you want to fight condition damage you must chose to 3000 more hp or Pure of Voice, that clean 1 condition whit shouts (2 if combined whit Soldier Rune). And to fight condition damage I prefer Pure of Voice, than 3000 more hp. A good condiiton damage dealer can inflict 1800 condition damage per second. Whit 3000 more hp you can survive 2 seconds more… and I prefer to clean away conditions and reduce to 0 the damage than increase my hp by 3000 ans curvive 2 seconds more.
5) Resolve’s passive effects increase endurance regeneration by 15%. What do I need to write about that? It’s the useless. Why you need to spent 30 trait points in one of the useless trait line ever to obtain 15% more endurance regeneration? It don’t regenerate 15% of yout endurance every 3 sec, it only increase our base endurance regeneration rate. (if it restore 15% endurance every 3 sec, it can be good combined whit vigor, making you restore 45% endurance in 3 sec, but it don’t do that and is useless if you need to spent 30 points in Virtues to obtain it).
They try to give us 3 new things:
1) Condition Damage Build.
Total fail because we can apply burn to the enemy and make it burn for 1 hour, but to inflict 900 condition damage x second you need to spent all your traits to do that and you’ve no more defensive ability like pure of voice and altruistic healing, two things that take the guardian alive while in combat.
All the other classes can give 1300-2000 condition damage x second, Guardian can only do 900-1000 and reduce it’s defensive ability to make it possible.
2) New Tank Build.
If you want give up Altruistic Healing, that provide you 360+ hp every time you give a boon to an ally (expecially good whit staff, empowering might, shouts and all the symbols) to obtain an AoE aegis every 20 when you block… that’s your choice, I never will.
3) More Condition Damage Resistance.
3000 more hp whit a new trait in honor to make you live longer against condition damage. Good… but you must chose between 3k more hp or shouts that clean conditions to you and you allies…
It’s only me or that trait don’t give us nothing really good to make new builds?
Condition can give more damage but it’s still a useless build, compared whit other classes, expecially in pve or wvsw; 3k more hp obtained whit a grand Master Trait don’t change our situation and an Aegis don’t save your kitten when in trouble better than 3000+ hp to you and 1800+ hp to allies obtained in 2.5 sec whit the Staff skill if you use Altruistic Healing and 360 hp every boon you give. It can be good in some situations, but I prefer Altruistic Healing, that work whit every boon I give, not only 20 sec and if I block an attack (trait good only if you use the bunker build mace+focus/shield, making you block a lot of attacks).
Communal defences can be good only if there’s 2 or more guardians that create a chain whit that trait effect. Think about 5 guardians that be hit one by one and active aegis every time. That can be good.
But… that will never be. AoEkitten**k up that strategy a lot.
Altruistic Healing is the best trait you can find on a Guardian. Combined, for example, whit the trait that give might on critical hit you can heal yourself every second just hitting the enemy.
AH is the greatest trait that make the guardian able to heal itself whit buff and guardian can spam buffs in a good way (symbol, might on critical and shouts, for exemple).
I play the guardian whit a 0/0/30/30/10 build and soldier+knight equipment. I like the idea to give more damage, and I wait the new patch…but… I think that nothing in that new traits give me reasons to change my build.
I want to be a dps guardian in a competitive way, or to obtain the chance to give more damage.
But ANet don’t like that…
There’s only one thing I can say about your idea: NO!
The “problem” of tha guardian is not that is a class that need to be empowered because is useless or something, the problem of the Guardian is the lack of possible builds.
In sPvP you Must play Bunker/Supporter, in PvE you Must play as a Supporter, in WvsWvsW you must play as a Supporter.
I play guardian berserker in sPvP, but everyone scream when i say that I’m a Berserker guardian whit Meditation build. Because a Guardian berserker can be good for sPvP, but to deal damage is better a warrior, or a condition damage class like necro or ranger. Whit my guardian I kill a lot of enemy, yes, but there’s better classes to be dps or to kill enemy.
That’s why they try to give us more condition damage ability. BUT they don’t give us more Condition Damage possibility!
We have only one condition. We can deal 800 damage x second. Ok, good, but a Necro or a Ranger can give you 1800+ condition dmaage x second. 120% more damage than what we can do. And they give cripple, immobilize, weakness and other usefull conditions. We can’t. And That’s why guardian can’t be a good condition damage dealer. You spent all your traits to optimize your condition damage and you lose all your defensive ability. To deal 800-900 damage x second of condition damage? Whit a single condition, easy to remove? That’s a bad thing…
Another point that make problems for the Guardian it the low amount of FINISHER!!!!
GS and Hammer give some finisher, good, Focus give one Finisher (and hard to use), but Staff, Scepter, Torch, Sword, Mace and Shield DON’T GIVE US A SINGLE FINISHER SKILL!!!!!!!
That’s a big issue whit all guardian builds. If you don’t use GS or Hammer you can’t obtain a single Finisher skill!!!
That trait can become a problem in some situations: one guardian block an attack, lose aegis and give aegis, another guardian block an attack, lose aegis and give aegis, the 3° guardian block an attack, lose aegis and give aegis, the 1° guardian’s Communal Defenses CD is gone, he block another attack and give aegis to all, the second block another attack, he give another time aegis to the 1 and the 3 guardian, the 3 guardian block another attack. Then all 3 use they’re virtue to block attacks, then the trait CD is already gone for the 1 guardian and all that restart…
I don’t want find a guardian zerg in wvsw using all that trait XD
But I don’t want to use that trait why: you can use Communal Defenses OR Altruistic Healing…
Then… ehm… thx to the developer for that beautifull trait… but… sorry… I prefer Altruistic healing…
Ferocy wyll decrease the total amount of a berserker build critical damage by arount 10-15%, not all that chance. And they say that the celestiol equipment obtain increased stats to be more usefull.
Abount support, you’ve not a support build, then you don’t need to think abount that, right? live happy, you’re a “useless” guardian anyway :-D
You’r only support skill is the tome, useless in almost all the situations. You can use it in some dungeons or wvsw, but only sometime.
Abount tanking, the guardian is the best bunker/supporter class, and if some other classes gain the skills to support ally you can be happy about that: you’re no more the only idiot that fight to keep your ally alive while they play like mindless berserkers and make your life kitten
ly the Warrior can be a good alternative to the guardian, but a warrior don’t give the defensive support ability that guardian give.
And actually, the best healer is the mesmer, whit 3k hp every 3 sec. But you will never see a mesmer healer because no one want to use a build like that whit a mesmer XD
New Traits (for what we actually know, because new trait changes will be revealed) give to the guardian some ability but my build (supporter) don’t give nothing usefull by that trait changes. I’ve my build and that build don’t change whit that new traits. I don’t see more chances to be a good dps whit that new Grand Master traits and don’t see the chance to be a Condition Damage Dealer, because you can increase the burn damage by 33%, but you can’t inflict the damage of Necro, Ranger or other classes that inflict more than only one condition at time. Necro and Ranger inflict a very high CD because they give you burn, poison and XX stack of bleed in lesser than 2 sec. That make them inflict more than 1800 damage x second just by condition damage, reducing your healing and giving you conditions like crippling, chill and weakness. If you inflict 800 damage x second whit fire… yeah… good… you’re a useless condition damage build.
That new traits don’t give me nothing new to try.
Don’t worry, be happy, nothing big is changing for us, little poor guardians!
They want to give us more builds and they try to give us new traits. But the wrong traits…
+33% burn damage… in the power trait (whit condition duration, but power trait). Then give us in Radiant trait the ability to change the source of damage for Retalation from power to condition damage.. WHY? Yes, the condi build need Virtue trait to be considerated a build, because reduce the attacks needed to inflict burn, and give you the ability to obtain more retalation, but… change directly it’s damage source… WHY? If you want to increase the burn damage by 33% you must obtain 30 points in Zeal… reducing your condition damage gived by traits… WHY????
Whit that new traits, to obtain a condition damage build you need to use something like 30/20/0/0/20. And your defence iiiiiisssss GONE!!! What utility can you use to defend? You’r only hope can be spirit weapons… to “defend” and inflict burn. And that’s bad…
All that don’t give us the chance to obtain a Condition build.
Then, there’s NOTHING that allow us to use a berserker build, because no one that want a berserker build can spent 30 in Honor, just to obtain 3k hp. And that 3k hp can’t change the situation.
Yes, whit 300 vitality by trait and 300 by grand master you obtain 6k or more hp. But at this time, is better obtain 300 vitality by trait and use shouts to heal conditions.
Or forgot Honor, spent points on Valor and use Meditations. And the passive trait bonuses gives you toughness and critical damage.
I don’t see in all that a way to make us more able to create new builds. New Good builds.
We can only hope that all the other traits change whit that patch, in order to make that GM traits look better to our eyes.
