The problem is: we already have minions and if you have utilities that can be activated after you have killed a enemy… you need to kill the enemy first to active it and if you see our actual status that can be a problem, expacially in some situations.
In pve it can be good, killing an enemy is easy, but obtain that enemy can be harder to fix. In spvp it can be a problem because you have to kill e anemy becore you can use it, and we already have some bad minions and the actual AI is very bad, we don’t need more bad minions in that game. Another place where you can find a lot of dead people can be www but in www a minion die so quickly that you haven’t time to say “ehi, come here, little dead asura warrior” and it is already dead.
Ranger already got the staff and Revenant will be able to use the staff like a Melee weapon (you can see it on the HoT first trailer).
If we look at rythlock… we ca obtain a Pistol. Offhand Pistol.
With a rifle the thief will obtain a lot of good skills, if you loow at the warrior or, even better, Engi Rifle. Warrior rifle have cripple and knock back, engi rifle have knock back, mobility and immobilize.
What about of a ranged weapon with something like cripple/immobilize/knockback, hide and good damage? Who will be able to catch you?
ANet has said that the Druid will obtain a redesigned way to use it’s pet. A kind of rework on the actual pet sistem. We don’t know what, but there will be a new way to use our pet.
If we obtain the defiance bar instead of DS we’ll be no more able to active the DS, then we lose uor only way to defend ourselves.
They can add it with a F2 skill (they add a F5 to mesmer, why not a F2 to necro?) but we haven’t enough ways to obtain life force, expecially in spvp, to sustain both DS and DB.
About burn it’s ok, right, guardian will be the king of burning stacks, but necro have also bleed and poison to deal damage. And weakness, chill, cripple to take down the enemy.
In the Guardian’s forum, John Peter is asking to Guardians if a rework on they’re existent Tome Elite skills can be good into 2 new very good Elite Skills (shout and signet, that fits with they’re traits to cooldown and effects).
Why no one ever ask something to us? -.-’
We all hove that. But… there’s not a single shout that deal damage in the game. We can be the first of all, but that will mean change the shouts basic idea: support skill that give AoE boons and/or conditions.
If we obtain shouts and ANet don’t change, only for us, the basicline of shout skills all the things we can hope will be inflict fear, weakness, slow and chill and gain protection, swiftness and things like that. Nothing more.
That’s why i will prefer some kind of cantrip/Aura instead of shouts.
That fit perfectly a melee fighter. An aura that grant X stack of might when used and grant regeneration and inflict poison when the enemy hit you, something that.
But we don’t need another selfless boon skills. We need team boons skills, unless the Devs don’t want to let us into our selfish support state.
From that post, we know that there’s a class that can obtain Shouts. Then, we’re the only one that can fit that why we’re the only one that really need a support build.
Then, if we obtain other stuff I’m really happy, but everyone think that the necromancer will obtain that shouts, then…
With Dhuumfire we well be able to stack 3 Burn (4 with bonn duration), no more, because our attack rate in DS is very slow.
The guardian can inflict much more stack of burn. Then with the specializzation the guardian obtain to deal Bleed. Not a high amount, but a good amount. That will make the guardian a better Burn damage dealer than all the other classes.
But we can still inflict bleed and poison, with a lot of burn.
And why the DH need to be nerfed? It’s like the ranger, but with less condition and direct damage, no hide and no knock back. And with lesser conditions. I don’t see the problem.
I’m confused as to why people say Guardian has no mobility. They have a leap on their GS, a teleport on their sword, a 1,200 range teleport meditation, and a good amount of swiftness if they need it. If that’s lacking mobility then what is necro? lmao

The problem in Guardian mobility is not how well you can go into a fight but how well you can go Out of a battle. Teleports like sword and meditation needs a enemy target to be activated. That’s not easy to find out of the enemy group and if you need to flee you want to be shure to not go into the mouth of another enemy.
Anyway the new F2 virtue will grant a low range jump, I think like 300 range, no more. Like in the video.
Then, I hope ANet will fix our problems also out of the Specialization, because yes, we can’t be forced to use it to be good and a single trait can’t fix all our problems.
Also, Traps don’t fit a heavy armor support character in any way. The idea of traps is to be stealthy and deceptive in order to fool your opponent; guardian is not stealthy or deceptive.
That’s the reason why we will have Traps!
To make new builds out of our basicline class image!
ANet always wanted to make us free to make what we want to play with every single class. You like the guardian but you’re not always the one that want to be the best tank of the word but still want to play the guardian because you like it’s skill? Now you can make a condition damage based guardian with long range attack and support, obtain new skills and be able to play a new role! But still with the way ba guardian will play it: giving boons to allies and a lot of support, losing nothing that make the guardian a guardian. Oly a little more ranged, strategical, stealthly and deceptive XD
Looking at what ANet will give to Mesmer an Guardian, we can see that they give them something that they need to make new builds: Shield and Well Support skills (and damage skills also) for the Mesmer, expecially good in www, to make them not only viable for Veil and Quicknes and Range+Conditions for the Guardian, to make new builds that can be unable to make with the actual skills/traits.
Then, what’s the only thing that necro really can’t do at all?
Support!
We’ve all thinking about Shouts and now it’s really time to think that they will give us some Support skills. About the GS, the only skills that we see can be the auto attack and skill X of the GS in the hands of Marjory Delaqua, that inflict a good amount of Chill.
With the GS we can hope to obtain finaly a movement skill (and a block skill like the ranger gs?), give high damage and reduce the enemy strength (chill+…weakness? To stay in the role) and with Shouts we can be invited in dungeon party why we’re no longer useless in team support.
That can mitigate 2 of our big problems.
That will never solve our big smount of lack and bad mechanics because we need a real rework and a single specializzation can’t do everything.
But ehi, that’s a start!
And the Dragonhunter traits and skills will grant the chance to obtain other conditions than Burn. That will increase our chance to become good at condition damage!
Range, Conditions, Traps, everything that Guardian’s need to make new builds!
I think that traps will be very good. Traps that give boons to allies and damage and debuff the enemy can be a great thing in spvp and www. And that specializzation open a new big world for the guardian for the condition damage.
I think that I will try it before say enithing about it’s power.
I like it’s dagger skills, and ds is good, if you don’t think at the damage, that is low than dagger auto attack.
The necro is very good in WvsWvsW and I’ve make it for www, but after that I’ve chose to play it in pve, to try. And I love the Vampiric Syphon ability. ANet need to do a little work on it, but it’s good to survive a little longer than the others.
About conditions, my ranger and warrior can deal better condition damage than my necromancer, but that’s another story XD

6) Condition damage rework to be effective like other classes that can apply bleed, poison, burn faster with lesser risks (ranger) and even confusion (engi)
CS have a good thing and a bad thing at the same time:
If you do everything right you can double your powerfull skills, deal high damage and recive 0 damage.
But if the enemy know how to fight he will just make all the dps on the CS respown position. With that, the “respown point” will fall down quickly and you will block the mesmer skills and the mesmer will be exactly where you are, granting you the chance to burst down your enemy with CC and AoE skills. Expecially in a team fight of 3vs3.
Then, if the mesmer will do a good job with build and skills you will never be able to burst down him when he “respown” back and he will do every single powerfull skills before you’re able to destroy it’s CS respown point.
In www it isn’t a skill that change so much because of the large amount of AoE skills, but the new Shield and Well skills will be very useful.
In sPvP a good Chronomancer can be unkillable, if you aren’t fast enough (or if he just use Moa form like elite, making you suffer of moa form for 20 seconds instead of 10… OP thing, Op thing!)
I think that Engineer will obtain “Spirits”. In the HOT trailer you can see the engi with hammer and 3 drones that fly near him. They can be something like an evolution of the turrets, that make sense, and they can be used to give buffs.
It’s the only kind of utility that engi can obtain and be in line with it’s image.
We haven’t utility that act istant like stances, cantrips or shouts.
Add to this that there’s only 2 class that don’t give boons to the team: engineer and necromancer.
The engi will probably obtain some kind of moving utility pet like spirits and wi will probably obtain some kind of istant skills like shouts to increase our support ability for the team.
I don’t like the idea of Shouts because they seem to be a weak kind of utility, but it can happend.
Turrets that now die quickly? That remember me why there’s no more necro MM and guardian SW in spvp.
Yes, wells already do something like that, but I mean something that last more time and deal more strategical impact on the area.

You mark the land with that skill and in a 900+ area everyone (5-10 enemy) will be affected by that skills, that last for 30+ sec and pulse every 2-3 sec to reactive it’s effect.
If we have to “steal” a Unique kind of skills from another class it can not be shouts because already more than one class have it. But the devs sayd that one class have to obtain it.
We also can’t obtain spirits. I think that Engi will obtain a mix between spirits and banners. Into a different way, something like flying robots on your back that give you boons and support. In the HoT release video we can see the engi attack some mobs with flying minions on it’s back that don’t move away from the engi and don’t attack. That can be a some kind of spirits.
What about a some kind of Glyph?
I think that it can be good: You curse the land and the effect last for X seconds, while all the enemy suffer from damage and conditions.
One to deal conditions and cripple (like the ranger’s Barrage), another that deal damage and Chill and Slow the enemy. Another that make every enemy that go in downed state lose 50-75% of they’re HP istant.
And that Glyph can grant some passive benefits to the necromancer.
Something like that.
A necromancer that can curse the land with powerfull effects. Why not?
It isn’t a period of “invulenrability”, it’s a period whyle you’re struck into a good dps state with no defence, no condi clear, no movement skills and that is our only way to survive.
That make me thing…. I’m sad…
It can work. But… what defensive skills? O.o
We haven’t one. If you want you can try to use Spectral Armor and Spectral Wall to obtain Protection and a fear. That’s the only way we have to mitigate the damage of a dps guardian.
But with it’s teleport and breakstun kill a guardian is hard. If you add blind, block and the GS CC skill, fight a guardian is even harder.
The axe can be good because grant you a good way to recharge DS and you can deal damage from a little fistance. But a meditation guardian have a lot of movement skills.
With the Axe you can use the Focus to rip away he’s boon. Convert it with the utility or give weakness with the offhand dagger is useless because a meditation guardian have good ways to clean or convert conditions.
Basicly, you can’t kill a dps guardian, if he’s focusing on you.
A breackstun with 1 stack of stability? Warriors in rampage will go crazy!
No, they simply crush you down with they’re kick, or the rock. We’ve not enough stability to fight a CC class. And if you want to flee from a Rampage Warrior remember that they have a 1000 range movement skill to catch you, a rock that knock down you with 600 range and a perma swiftness on them that let them catch you easy with a gap of 8% in movement speed.
And to reactive you breakstu+stability you have to stay Out of DS for 7 sec. And if you’re using it to attack and flee you will never be happy to go out of it only to obtain another breakstun.
Your build isn’t so bad, just it’s not good like you think, expecially against some classes.
They give us something. Protection when we exit from DS, a lot of heal when we hit a enemy under 25% hp, some good things. Some good try to balance our class.
But we need something like engi: a lot of total rework on our class, because there’s really a large amount of things that necro don’t have (mobility skills, stability, defensive skills like block or invulenrability and a lot of other things).
They can give us good things, but if we can’t obtain that things our live don’t change.
We speak frequently about spvp, but because it is a very good place to try our best and worst things.
We can deal good damage (lesser than other classes, but still good), we have a “2nd health bar”, a lot of fear skills and good condition damage, we can corrupt boons. And if you really want it we can have protection.
But we haven’t a way to evade damage, to flee from a enemy, to survive like all the other classes can do. Into a spvp fight frequently the team focus on the necromancer. That’s why it’s the easyest class to take down, because the necro haven’t a single defensive skill out of DS. And if you strip away DS from the necro you alsto steal he’s better dps source. And all the other classes can do everything we do but better and with lower risk than us.
And in PvE we’re barely useless, yes, but not because we don’t deal damage, because a necromancer can deal a good damage, but because we don’t give a single buff to the team, we haven’t a Blast Finisher easy to use and we can’t do good combos with other classes.
We’re a good class, you can find some very good and skilled necromancers in spvp that can kill you, but we’re always a step back the other classes. Expecially in PvE and sPvP.
But if you look to WvsWvsW we have a very good role: we’re the main dps power of the zerg!
We’ve still a role in this game and that’s what let us stay here. We’re only hoping for new things in pve and spvp. That’s all.
Necromancer is a good class and it well be in the futur. We have only to endure and wait for that great Specializzation that wait us in HoT!
Necromancer is a hard choice at this moment. But also a beautiful class.
Necromancer is expecially good in WWW, where you can become a Cannon, the real dps class of a zerg. You stay with a pure Power build in the second line of the zerg and kill with the DS. When it end you have to try to recharge it faster to return in DS state and continue to deal damage.

For spvp, you can use the same of the WWW. But Necromancer isn’t a good choice for spvp. It’s good, you can deal damage and kill someone, but all the other classes can deal better damage or survive better or give support.
If you want a condition build I can’t give you it, but in www Roaming and spvp a condition build can be very good. Also in pve, but not in dungeon or big events untill ANet don’t make it’s changes to condition damage.
I’m already in search for another class for spvp. And if ANet show us our destiny (specializzation) I can know if I want to play it in the futur or if I have to change my class now.
Mesmer can obtain different ways to clean conditions. first of all the skill that send 3 conditions to the enemy and steal 3 boons. It’s a powerfull skill.
Then, a mesmer that let the enemy track he easy isn’t a good mesmer. In spvp the Mesmer actually IS in the current Meta.
A good mesmer don’t need to defend so much, he can just deal 15-18k of damage in 5 sec easy with shatter and GS. Not so hard.
And Mesmer have already a large amount of active defence. Clones is already an active defence, stealth, skills that clean conditions (the one mentioned before and the mantra), the skill 2 of the sword that give Blur, Distortion, Moa form.
Mesmer isn’t really weak as you say. Expecially not compared with the damage output that a mesmer can do!

I barely ever see necromancers. Dunno what you’re talking about.
I dunno about that; I fairly frequently end up with 2 necros running a dungeon (2 necro’s are more common than 2 ele’s or guards for me), sometimes the other necro leaves before we are a full 5. Heck once we had 2 necro’s, then a 3rd popped up but insta-left lol.
I can find sometime a necro in a casual dungeon, that’s because there’s no one in organized dungeons and they all need to find some casual players to make one XD
I think that Engi can obtain some sort of “spirits”, not us.
In the promotional trailer, we can see the engi fight with the hammer with 3 little mecha minions, that don’t attack or move when the engi attack the mobs. That can be beacuse they’re some kind spirits or banners that move with the engi, granting some good boost to the team.
We’re better candidate for shouts or aureas. I think it will be shouts. But I hope no…

Dagger nis the best direct damage weapon of the Necromancer, then you need to focus on it.
You can also try a more defensive build, but berserker is very good with dagger mainhand.
There’s only ont thing that can be bad with a similar Break Bar:
We haven’t a single defensive skill on the necromancer. Really, we haven’t defence out of DS. If you spend all your LF to prevent CC the the enemy can only be happy, because whitout Lf we can’t enter in DS for long time, we can’t Adsorb damage or Deal damage (because for direct damage builds DS is the only true chance to deal good damage in www and spvp).
That Specializzation have to be really really good, giving us defensive skills on GS and Utility/Elite, because they Want to make us use LF for Other than DS. That mean that our Only defence will be shutted down into a second.
They will never Add a Break Bar, they can only Transform our DS bar and make it viable for both the situations. But that will rip us out of LF very quickly, expecially against some kind of enemy like guardians, rangers, warriors, engi that will be able to make good CC skills that consume all our LF, making us unable to defend our HP.
I really hope that they don’t do that.

Dhuumfire is in the DS trait because that make you chose between 50% critical chance (for direct damage builds) and Burn stack (for condition builds).
I think that it’s fine, because now also condition builds can chose that traitline to obtain more condition damage.
Necromancer actually is the worst choice for do spvp and dungeon. expecially dungeon.

In pve we can deal damage, but everyone can do better. In spvp all the other classes can do really better damage (direct or condi)and with lesser problems.
That don’t make us unplayable, we can still deal damage and also we can kill some enemy in spvp, but if you have to choice between a necromancer and another classes with the same kind of build you will always choice the other classes.
I don’t want to make it like all the other classes.
Ele is different from warrior and warrior is different from engi and engi isn’t the same as thief. But they’re viable in spvp, www and pve. Good class for all.

What if you play in 2vs2 and find a bad player or a bad class against good premade 2team players?
A simple thing from the mesmer’s forum:
“Continuum Shift + Signet of Illusion = no cooldown skills if Continuum Shift is shatter skill.”
If it work, we will be able to find a large amount of self-loop-mesmers into the game.
At last they will be able to active it twyce before it go really in cooldown.
What about Stances? Or Aureas? I hope that because it can fit more a undead knight class.
What about a Stance or Aura that spam weakness and/or chill all around you?
I don’t like the idea of shouts because they seems to be.. weak.
The shoutbow is good not because of shouts, it’s good because of a Rune that make them clean a condition and a Trait that make them Healing Shouts.
Warrior shouts give a little amount of might and fury, vulnerability, clean a condition and give fear. Ranger shouts make the pet more aggressive or defensive, make it take all your damage and send it to revive a random player.
That don’t seems very good to me. Not if you look at all the other skills that you can obtain.
Some kind of Stance/Aura that don’t acto on you but act on your enemy can be very good.
Inflict Slow and Weakness to all the enemy in XX range every sec. Inflict damage and steal life to all enemy in XX range every sec. Inlict Chill and Fear to all the enemies in XX range every sec (because they will still make you inflict fear, i know…).
Something like that. It can be good for a Melee class and it fit the “image” of the Necromancer, that will never obtain direct defensive skills but that can obtain indirect defensive skills.
I really hope that we will not obtain a Supporter Specializzation. That will make almost all the necromancers Ragequit the pg and reroll into another class.

Actually the necro is the more useless class ever appeared in GW2.
We have find a little glory with the advent of Condition Meta in spvp, but then every other classes find that they also can deal condition damage, frequently more condition damage than the necromancer (engi for example).
Then we’re actually without a role, without a image that reflect us. We’re always been the class with high hp that use conditions, die slowly and kill slowly. And it can be good, but acually even more classes can deal better condition damage, survive better (because they have different skills to evade the damage and we don’t have one) and we die very quickly because the enemy can deal so much damage in direct and condi build that make us unable to survive or escape, because we haven’t skills to survive or escape from a combat.
If 4 enemy focus on a bunker warrior, he can survive for 13 sec jus with Immunity skills, then they have to skill he’s high amount of hp, toughness and healing.
If 3 enemy focus on a necromancer, if the necromancer haven’t already the DS bar full he can’t neither active it and if the DS bar is full he can survive for almost 4 seconds before a dps group strip away the DS from he. Then kill the necromancer is more easy than kill a warrior. We have only Fear and protection, but the enemy can use a breakstun or stability to evade our fear and protection reduce by 33% the damage, but all alone isn’t good enough to make us survive. Also because without the DS our damage is very very very low (you can use the dagger but it’s not very good in spvp or in wvw).
-Warrior is still the brainless fighter with high damage. And now is able to don’t die.
-Mesmer is still the class that make you mad to be killed.
-Ele is still the hybrid class that can do everything with a DD build and deal high damage with the staff
-Ranger is still the long range fighter that kill the enemy before he come to deal damage (more or less) and fight with his pet to deal even more damage
-Thief is still the hiding finger in the… that make you speak bad words when you drop dead in 3 sec while you’re running in www or when you flee away from the mid in spvp
-Guardian is still the bunker support that everyone want, but that can reach high damage if he want
-Engi is still… I don’t know what ANet want to do… but it’s still it!
We’re no more what we’re planned to be.
Our class is a class without a real identity.
Isn’t it… just a little… OVER POWERED? O_O
They can do 2 things: include condition/bonn duration in the specific armor set (condition duration in carrior and rabid and boon duration in soldier and cleric, for example) or make new armors that provide that bonus, forcing you to chose that set to increase your condition duration, making you lesser defensive, just like Ferocity for direct damage. And that will help the balance between direct damage and condition damage builds.
Necro don’t give support. You can remve some conditions taking it on you, heal 3k with DS skill 4, and if your allies cross trough your spctral waal they obtain protection, but you will never use it to buff your allies because you use it to fear your enemy.
You can be a defensive necromancer, a pg that last for long, but that’s not a good choice for our team in spvp, because you lost all your dps (that is lower than every other classes). I can see 3k of damage to a thief, but frequently in spvp everyone use a midbunker build, or have protection, then your damage is more or less 2-2.5k. And it can be good, isn’t a bad damage, but a mesmer dps can deal 13k of damage in 5 sec to a midbunker. I’ve a friend that play mesmer very well and he shot away he’s enemy so fast that they can’t hit him. I’ve see him deal 18k of damage to a zerk necromancer in 4 seconds. It’s more then 4k x sec.
Necromancer have less survavibility, direct damage, condition damage, support and role utility than all other classes in the game.
And the future changes to all classes traits will only increase that because everyone obtain good things but we stay almost like we are actually. And the condition spec will be nerfed a little by making you chose between the 3 better condition traits of the guardian, (terror that deal fear, scepter condition and healing conditions, all GM). And Dhuumfire will be useless because you will use a entire Line to obtain 3 stack of burn when every other classes will do better burn stack damage.
But there’s a thing that we can’t know: the Specializzation.
If you active your specializzation, you recive a new weapon, a new healing, 3-4 new utility and a new elite.
And ANet is making all the actual changes to our Traits also depending on the new specializzation of the expansion.
I think that that specialization can’t all alone save the Necromancer, but it will add some good news to us.
2 things can happen:
1) The specializzation is really good and the new skills (and GS) can fill the lack of defensive skills of our class, making all Necromancer in spvp using that new traitline, only to obtain that skills and be able to fight like all the other classes.
2) The new specializzation will not fill our lack but add another new selfis playstile and everyone will go mad and start to throw quaggans everywhere screaming like apes, playing a new spec that add something really good but that don’t help us in any real situation.
In spvp I actually play Spectral Armor and Spectral Wall, to obtain more defence by Protection.
But the problem is that we have some ability to Reduce damage, but not to Evade it!
All the other professions can also obtain Protection, but they have a lot of skills to Block, Evade or be Immune to damage (expecially direct damage) or from attacks directly (Block and Invulnerability don’t gives only the chance to reduce to 0 the damage, but also to evade the attack, evading Direct damage, Coming Condition Damage and CC skills).
And they also can give Weakness, Chill, Cripple, Vulnerability, Blind, some classes better than the Necromancer.
For example one of the “future traits” of the Ranger will grant the chance to obtain 8 sec of protection every 12 sec when a enemy hit you, and also spam 6 sec of Weakness AoE. All in a passive way. Plus 2 different skills to reduce to 0 the direct damage (signet and shout), a low cd hide skill (LB skill), a block skill on GS and a large amount of evasion skills in weapons and utility. And with another trait all they’re survival skills clean conditions easy, granting Fury to you (and your pet if traited).That’s all while you and your Pet fight against your enemy.
Then… there’s no excuse to don’t give to the Necromancer some Really Good Defensive Skills out of Protection and Weakness.
Moaform AoE on a actually top sPvP class?

With the trait’s that Devs show us we can see that there’s still nothing that really help necromancers to stay alive, except of a 3 sec protection and a little healing if you hit a enemy under 25% hp (that can be useful in spvp, but in the same place if you recharge 2k hp isn’t all that heal, because a direct or condition dps can deal 2-3k x sec of damage).
We can corrupt boons, but that’s not a real “defence” because in pve is useless and in spvp there’s classes that can do the same (sometimes better) and all classes can clean conditions fast, making useless our try (expecially with the current condi meta).
Then what have we that can protect us? The Death Shround!
To use it you need to charge it and you cna charge it easy in pve, but in pvp (expecially in spvp) you have to use your utility skills to charge it if you want to obtain a full bar. But that can be made only when the enemy hit you. In www is more easy, into a zerg, you spam the staff auto-attack and ok, it can charge a little, and there’s a lot of dead people around you that charge it. But frequently you start the fight without Life Force.
And in spvp it’s one of our big problems! Because in spvp you really need to use Spectral Armor to charge it or you will charge only 1/3-1/2 and the enemy is really near to kill you.
Then we active DS! Our “second Hp bar!”
DS is very good. It can be used to defend and to attack at the same time and have some good traits on it. But there’s some problems:
1) when you’re in DS there’s not a single healing skill/trait/source that heal you. Because you’re in DS and the healing skills don’t affect your Life Force, but you’re in DS and you’r health pool is locked and the enemy attack can’t affect it, but the same is for the healing skills!
We have only a GM trait that heal you for 130 hp x sec while you’re in DS. But to obtain it you need to spend 6 points into a barely useless line (expecially for direct damage builds). And that trait isn’t a really good trait but someone use it only because auto-active DS wuen you’re near to die. But if you’re near to die it’s because you’r Life Force bar is already empty and you gain like 1-2k hp bonus before you die.
And when you’re in DS you can’t active any utility/healing skills, making you unable to clean conditions or active a breakstun or whatever you want.
DS is our only direct damage big source for pvp situations (both spvp and www) but it’s also our only defence.
And if a enemy catch us we can’t flee because we have not a single mobility skill (except for worm, but it’s a really bad one if you need to flee), not a single block and not a single invulnerability skill.
We’re a class made from death that control the dark power of the death itself! Why we’re the only class that can’t escape from it???
Our defence:
-DS (but you need to charge it first and it’s our only good dps source for pvp)
-Protection (some source of protection like S.Armor and S.Wall, but only some builds can use that skills properly)
-Good ways to clean conditions (it’s true, we haven’t so much problems about that)
-Fear (that can be cleaned, removed with a breakstun or be uneffective because of stability)
What we haven’t:
-Block (like warrior or engi, for example)
-Mobility
-Invulnerability (to direct, condition, CC skills/damage, or them all like ele, guardian or engi)
-Healing (except for our basic healing skill, expecially in DS state)
(I don’t include Hide because I don’t want to see a necromancer with hide skills)
But we will never have all that because the Devs still think that a second bar of hp that lock out primary health pool, making unable to heal while in DS can be better of all that we haven’t.
A second bar of hp is more or less useless if you need to flee! It can only make die more slowly.
We’re the clas more close to the death itself of the game and we haven’t a way to escape from it.
There’s one thing about that “new use of Life Force” coming that scary me:
In the video released to show the new WWW Borderland, there’s a necromancer holding a GS covered in a dark aura, something like the DS but only on the weapon.
There’s the possibility that devs think that: The actual DS double the HP bar of the necro. basically give a “high” defensive ability, plus a very good damage. What if we make it a dps mode? Something like a toogle skill that increase your damage and give you some good effects? (like 50% of crit, dhuumfire, etc) on the basic skills, eliminating the second “hp bar”?
It sounds good! very good!
But… now we can say one thing: whitout the DS the survavibility of the necromancer fall down under the ground. Because we have 2 protection skills (spectral armor and apectral wall) + a auto-SA trait. With that new traits we will obtain a 3 sec of protection while we go out of DS and 1900 heal every 5 sec when we attack a enemy under 25% hp. That is useful to block a single enemy attack in spvp or to survive a single second more against a condition class ( a condition class can deal more than 2k of condition damage x sec).
But we still don’t have a single kitten ed movement/evade/block/immunity skill!!!! We can use spectral walk or the wurm to evade a single attack, but in spvp it’s not enough. The same for www. It’s not enough.
If a enemy want to kill us we can’t flee. No mobility, non invulnerability, no evasive skills.
I don’t speak about hide because it can’t fit on a necromancer, but a defensive skill like a shield block of the warrior, etc… Nothing.
14k of hp that you have to build Before you can use it is nothing compared to a 4-6 sec of invulnerability to attacks or damage.
AND WE STILL DON’T HAVE STABILITY!!!!!
if ANet want to give us a dps way to use the life force they need to make it very very OP, or they will steal away our only defensive ability at all.
What about Spyte Gm traits?
Sygnet mastery? A GM trait? Wtf, that will make no one use it!
Actually there’s only a few number of player that use a sygnet and that’s not the Locust, that can be good only in pve. But in PvE is better a +20% of damage than a free Sygnet od Locusts and 3 stack of might for it.
And Spiteful Spirit? It can barely be use in www if you’re into a zerk to obtain retalation, but no more. +20% of bonus damage will always be better.
They make us forced to make a very hard choice in the Curses traitline and then they make us make a so easy choice in Spite traitline?
Why?
