Heat room, cooling rod, big red lines across the wall in a number of places equal to the number of cooling rods you can acquire in the fractal.
You also get teleported out of the heat room each time you slot in a cooling rod(or should), it’s not a heroic death to place one.
I’m actually really surprised that we haven’t seen any group-wide DPS tests with the new golem test area. I’d think that this would be the perfect way to evaluate different raid comps and to determine whether it’s better to run something like 1 PS war or 2.
qT mentioned in their personal dps tests that the golems died too fast to 10man groups.
2 things to note:
D/W builds drop a lightning field before every fire field, so blasting it, especially with quickness/alacrity can be next to impossible in combat.
When I tested the armour values, non-condi attacks were hitting for 25.5% less(on dulfy), in terms of actual armour values this is 2688 armour at scale 1 and 3609 at 50+. So while the damage drop from normal attacks would be ~27%(compared to the 2597 for tooltips), the builds dps loss might be closer to 25% because of things like passive condi ticks under the effect of banners/might.
So I went back and tested the toughness scaling. The difference between a UB1 and a UB57 was 25.5% dmg decrease from an armour/toughness change. Going up to a UB 85 was the same damage as the 57, so the toughness does indeed not scale after 50.
Dulfy was used as the test dummy.
A SO20 compared to SO80 was 23% damage decrease on the tentacles spawned after the first tentacle is killed. As there is no SO below 20, I can’t check their toughness below that.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-December-15-2015
“From fractal scale 1 to 50, the toughness attribute of creatures will scale up with the fractal scale. Beyond fractal scale 50, the toughness stat of creatures will no longer increase with the scale of the fractal.”
But the toughness still scales until 50. Based off numbers weth gave me after that patch, the toughness is around 27% loss to power based damage from the 2600 against most raids bosses or spreadsheet calcs.
Just dont use that stupid longbow on dungeons/fractals and everyone will be happy.
Longbow has strong burst, in dungeons and low fractals power builds can benefit from that immensely.
When you have the instability that reduces your endurance regen on top of how often those knockbacks are spammed, yes.
You know you can blind those attacks by inflicting blind on the source?
Well, thx for the answer, really good.
I’m starting to think Mesmer can be good tank because they don’t have a really big dps so can base their role on support, alacrity and move the bosses where they want.
But I dunno if he needs good heals or can do down easily, never tried for now.
On vg mes needs heals, on gors not so much, accidental heals will cover the mes because they can blurred frenzy/block the hardest hitting attacks, and gors isn’t much of a threat damage wise.
I hate trying to use magnet to pull eles and you find out 2-3 are just chilling there having drinks. Can they spawn next to each other?
Otherwise it’s pretty easy, just roll engi, blind things, cc things together, profit.
I wish they’d make the potions account bound.
Over the next two or three weeks I’m going to create a few groups titled casual no eternal’s permitted. This will be a test(very small sample size) to see if the advice given in this thread to form own groups holds any water. Full disclosure, I have hundreds of dungeons under my belt so I’m not completely new to group play.
I’ll report back for better or worse on how this panned out.
I make a raid of pugs every Monday, minus the weeks where I’m not online, I’ve cleared it each week. With the release of SP I just take whichever members from the SV squad want to stay and continue through.
You can run fresh air and take advantage of the large radius of air overload to cleave enemies as you move around. Also comboing cc with your other party members helps on trash mobs. d/f brings lots of projectile defenses if there are ranged enemies hitting you that you can’t pull in immediately.
It was the rift created on the 3rd hit of auto, prec strike and UA that were bugged. None of them have been confirmed being fixed, and someone went back and tested them once or twice after patches.
Engineer is nice to have at VG for easy knockbacks and soft cc on seekers, and the ability to res players through lit floors
ftfy, the soft cc from engineers is phenomenal at keeping seekers away from the group to the point where you only ever need 1 knockback per seeker spawn
Foods and utillity consumables are very important in raids.
For condition dealers they could give up to 30% more condition duration which will be 30% overall damage boost.for buffers they could give 20% more boon duration which would help alot for the group.
30% condi duration is only a 30% boost if you have no other condi duration from stats/sigils/runes. Once you start using items like sigil of malice, nightmare/trapper runes, viper stats, etc.. The % increase isn’t as large, making a t5 pizza instead of t6 an almost unnoticeable damage loss but much easier on the wallet of new raiders who don’t trust groups.
Boon duration can mean a little or a lot as well. Fried golden dumplings don’t just provide boon duration, they give might as well. For mesmers this gets passed off to other players with signet of inspiration and for warriors this means extra activations of phalanx strength since the food and the trait have no ICD, allowing extra might to be generate for a party, over other types of boon duration food, allowing runes/sigils of strength that some players often have to be swapped out for upgrade that provide better personal damage while still getting the benefits of boon duration food and buffing the group.
Still running pug raids each week, still running new players through both wings each week.
I’d definitely suggest starting your own group instead of waiting for someone else to start one. Unless you’re getting silverwasted, in which case carry on, in such an inebriated state time flies.
it’s the Mushroom Emperor in Dragon Stand;
FTFY, was absolutely brutal if you don’t get him stuck in place
Zealot is taken on an ele because the build can still output high dmg with fresh air and a bunch of heals. On a druid the damage is pretty negligible in a 10man setting because being on staff isn’t exactly high power based damage(or condi). In which case exotic magi is going to lose you a couple thousand dps, but in a group of 10 it’s going to be a couple percent while allowing you to carry small mistakes with heals.
Can you give me your math ? I may be wrong but this is how I calc :
Condi damage thorn user : 1954 (cf my previous post)
Condi damage zerk user : 1904 (full viper, helmet sinister)
Both use rabid back because I don’t know the stats of a viper one.Poison damage zerk user 25 might stacks :
1904 + 750 = 2654
[(2654 * 0.06) + 33,5] *1,05 = 202,377
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNBLRDbkhGauxqbw7G4wxSxgJ9BCBdg4eYRMJGFAGAJAA-TxhHQBA4kAQQlfQRJI50LUrHAA9U/pc7PQKAIWWB-e for berserker runes. With 1988 condi damage instead of 1904, could probably be a bit higher if I went looking for the stats on 4stat backs. The build I was using for thorn was trading off some condi dmg for overcapped poison, so it was only at 1858 condi dmg, adding agony sigil and sinister puts it at 1959 condi dmg.
tell me what i did wrong.
Thorn runes add 45% poison duration, venom sigil adds 20%, condi duration with full viper’s + food/util+malice is 80.4%, so your poison is at 145.4%, a little bit over the cap. Geo would probably be a better sigil over venom, or earth if you can’t rotate through your weapons to get geo procs.

With Viper + zerker runes a poison tick will hit for 205.34, with viper + thorn(5 stacks) the tick will hit for 204.98. Both calcs are 25 might, though more condi dmg favours zerker runes if you were to add banners.
You can swap sinister trinkets for rabid if you need extra toughness to face tank things. If you wvw and have made trailblazer gear you can use that instead of viper with a likewise negligible dps loss.
Be wary of reaper shroud/death shroud, while in it your healer can’t give you heals. Try to communicate if you actually need to receive healing, or if you’re going to mitigate it with another health pool.
Probably trying to play staff ele/anything condi based that uses firefields in SW with 10000 rangers knocking things out of your AoE’s, that kitten is hard yo
That!
Playing with any melee class and doing the equivalent of 10 marathons while running after the mobs the same rangers push away works as well.
Wait until you try and melee something while the exalted suits of armour play pinball with it in the north lane of DS. 2sec cd on those pushes and pulls
have your rev use mallyx group resistance skill before shake to give a little extra time to condi cleanse people who are hit.
If you run jalis you can lay down a yellow brick road granting the same allies stability which will prevent the fear ever being applied, rather than delaying the effects and still needing a cleanse at a later point.
Precision strike update for mainly matthias. The bolts managed to hit tornados, storms and an invisible bloodstone shard in the middle of the room that was destroyed upon first entering.
The wall is too high for me. Way too high for the amount of effort I put into looking for a competent group.
20minutes on the LFG during off hours?
I looked at a group of 2 players looking for gors/sab today. Made my weekly raid on the lfg menu, finished SV, killed sloth, then looked at the same 2 players sitting on the lfg waiting for someone to invite them, while there were other players on the LFG menu also looking for the same bosses.
Just walk around the wall.
You don’t want to reset MMR…. The algorithm is attempting to estimate the relative skill of all the players, by resetting it you put every single player in the same pool for games. Kind of like, I don’t know, everyone starting at amber and complaining they get matched with players of a higher skill level.
Instead why not have ranked arenas open between seasons with a small amount of decay where players can demonstrate their skill to the algorithm, then have it seed the players between amber(0 pips) and ruby(0 pips) with all rewards given for any tiers/divisions you are placed above. That way having a MM system that matches players based on similar MMR won’t also prevent players from getting stuck in low divisions.
Could also allow players to drop out of legendary/diamond/ruby divisions to sort out players better.

Elementalist and thief also use their elite professions, mesmer and ranger also use their elite profession because the buffs aren’t worth the minor personal dps loss.
Without alacrity which is a common problem in pug groups thief has dps on par with ele, and dh is barely behind.
Warrior is lower than engineer/necro for skilled players with group buffs.
Did you know the existence of a story mode in dungeons reduced the total number of people who would choose to play the explorable mode after?
Can we have a WP at the entrance of any future raid wings? As well as a ley rift at each boss/encounter area that unlocks after the kill so we can port to the correct place even if there is a bug with respawn location.
I think my main question is, are condition cleanse skills with other functions(such as healing) able to hit some players for healing and a separate set for the cleanse, or will it prioritize all of that to your sub-squad first, in which case with players being so close together it won’t matter if you can see who specifically needs the condi cleanse.
For example, GotL stacks are applied to sub-squad first regardless of which player receives a heal, contrary to the trait description.
Someone find a new driver, cause the hype train is at full speed with the build just released!!!!
Gorseval: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVbXoR9GStg
Sabetha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB-mMUDslsA
Both are done in pugs, sabetha was a last cannon run.
I seem to get druids each week who focus too much on trying to camp staff and get out heals rather than balancing skill usage around the mechanics, as well as not using buffs when possible.
[Noob] thread has now been moved to the Player Helping Players sub-forum where it’s almost on page 2.
Interesting to see that there’s another swinging boy hidden within Sprit Vale. Supposedly there were three hidden within the game, but I’ve only seen two myself (WvW hidden cat room, and above LA exit).
Battle of Khylo, outside of blue spawn in a tower window.
Can you still carry the hammer with you from the double seal? That was a previous fix as well.
Warrior is the easiest support to offer. Druid is almost as easy as warrior for offering support. Mes is very easy too, you just need to have better timing.
Rev is really easy to offer offensive support, but it’s not exactly strong relative to war/ranger/mes.
Yes, I want 8-bit unicorns!
Why stop at 36? [&Avz2LQEA]
At least you don’t need to run SV twice to get the shard cap
You can only attune rings. You can only infuse backpieces and rings.
“Get Her!”
That’s your entire strategy?
Basically everything sabetha pug.
Imagine if that thing was at Khazad-dum bridge instead of a balrog.. would u watch the rest of the movie? i mean… atmosphere has its impact..
Then again how many sloths live deep underground where dwarves dug too deep? If gandalf was running across a tree branch and got kittened up by a sloth, I’d probably keep watching.
Heh, a sloth accidentally grabbing gandalf and they both fall to their deaths.
Make sure the person trying to load VG is fully loaded into the instance before anyone else enters, if someone else enters with a faster computer it will take their progress instead(possibly opening a different boss).
I’d assume she means all stats will be available, rather than 1/4.
Maybe it’s a really fashionable sloth that challenges you to look more stylish. Those minions are cuter than half the asurans people make.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Reaper_-_Viper_Horror Scroll down to the tanking section. It’s basically a normal condi necro with toughness.
Sabetha recently overheated her flame thrower equipment torching ghosts and captives, her weapon will be cool enough to unleash her full fury in 9mins.
Done.
Idk, I kind of liked the Sabetha had something on the stove she wanted to cook explanation better. She seems like she’d have to eat a lot.
