EDIT IN:

The WP discount saves the average person 5g in 4 weeks. [snip]

This 5g is based on what numbers? And where did those numbers come from?

Thin air of course, just like any statistic posted on the internet.

Exactly my point. They are completely baseless and therefore useless.

The average player’s “Happiness Levels” will increase ten-fold if Evon wins, and will decrease 100-fold if Kiel wins. This is based off of the consensus that I’m right, and Evon will win. Plus, Evon has no need for statistics. He just needs to know how to undercut the competition. Minus 1 Copper is as simple as you can get, which is why he’s so successful.

Read it again. Slowly this time:

They are echoes of the past, and even when we became pseudo-charr in the alternate Searing, we retained our skills, traits, magical aptitude… everything. (I think it was actually Dessa’s trick to make us look charr, so our “allies” would not smite us on sight.) It is incomprehensible that we would become the gods themselves, even briefly, as a faint memory of Tyria. Since we and the gods are separate entities – different personalities, magic, soul, etc.

It would also be a pretty silly that our level of magical power jumps a gazillion levels for 30 mins then drops back to the original level – with the energy going nowhere. Yeah, it’s a fantasy world, but even physics have to remain believable up to some point.

Fractals are an echo of the past, played out in the present. Playing as one of the 5 gods would fit into this idea. And replacing skills isn’t something new. Costume brawl, Keg brawl, Sanctum Sprint, Hunger Games (beta test finale), upcoming Southsun Survival, WvW, etc., all have your skills replaced. I’ve never heard any players upset with this.

Skins are $5-$10, if you buy them outright.
With RNG skins you could spend $100 or more to get the skin.

Stop legitimizing this SCAM!

To answer this…

The fact that people WANT things only offered as a chance from a chest, and the fact that they’re WILLING to take that chance, they give up all rights to complain once they click that button. Knowing full well of what you’re getting into, and still doing it, speaks volumes.

They refused to restore an irreplaceable event skin for me. They spent days researching whether it was their fault. It would have been cheaper and faster to just restore it. Would have cost less manpower and they’d still have a customer.

So you decided to necro a 4 day old thread to complain about this again. Perhaps non-customers should not be posting on a message board for customers, particularly a sub-forum that is specifically for customers with account issues.

Yes. They have a product to sell and I’m a consumer with money to give them. But it’s not automatic, they have to earn it. This how they find out how to earn it.

For now I’m giving their money to a competitor. But if ArenaNet addresses the item restoration issue I’ll consider giving them money. For now it’s too much of a risk.

It’s ok. Since there’s no subscription fees, your account will exist forever. So you can come back to the game whenever you want.

Double the precursor drop rate

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Smooth Penguin.5294

Smooth Penguin.5294

Why is everyone making everything so complicated. If precursor drop rate increase, the price will surely drop. Probably not by much since the popular precursor are probably governed by the mystic force. But the price of tridend or spear precursor will most likely drop.

It’s already proven. It happened in the Karka event.

I think what people mean is the big picture. If precursor drop rate increase, some people get lucky will get more money thus increase the price of other items such as tier 6 materail.

No. The Precursor market was shocked during that event for a couple of reasons.

Increasing the drop rate of Precursors will no longer shock the market, as players are well aware of the potential for them in WvW, World Chests, MF, etc. A tiny change in the drop rate won’t be as noticeable, unless Anet announces it. What WILL shock the market is when the supply on the TP shows 10X or more than what’s usually posted (i.e. Dusk goes from 5 to 50 available). And I’m talking across the board Precursor availability, not just on 1 or 2 of them.

You’re right. Even if precursor drop is doubled, it probably won’t change much if anything. Unless the drop rate is increased by alot like the karaka event, it won’t change much. Not to mention the mystic forge really set the price.

But it’s the part where people say the price will actually “increase”. I failed to understand why the precursor price will increase if drop rate are doubled. Some guy get super rich from the double precursor rate, and drive the precursor price higher? I’m not understanding the logic.

They have the potential to increase, as more people will think they can attain one. Thus Demand increases along with a Supply increase. The only example I have in mind was the Powerful Blood drop rate increase. Those started to show up more often, and at around the same time, prices started to go up. I do believe Anet announced this in an update blog.

Part of this is if people get word that Precursor rates are doubled. That is the trigger of a potential price increase. It’s the mindset of the player base: Double rate = I can get one too! That leads to more players entering the market for one (i.e. Demand goes up). If Anet were to do it without saying a word, not many would notice, since 2x something very small is still very small.

No. The Precursor market was shocked during that event for a couple of reasons.

1) Precursors were showing up from the end chest. No one was aware that this would happen, thus there was a panic that Precursors were no longer rare
2) There was an exploit where players were able to farm multiple chests, thus increasing their chances of getting a Precursor drop.

Because of the panic, people assumed the worst, and unloaded their inventories. Sorta like when there was a glitch in the stock market system a few months back, and the DOW dropped by HUGE numbers over non-existent changes. Scared people sold, and smart people invested (i.e. the rich got richer).

Increasing the drop rate of Precursors will no longer shock the market, as players are well aware of the potential for them in WvW, World Chests, MF, etc. A tiny change in the drop rate won’t be as noticeable, unless Anet announces it. I’m glad I just delete the boxes now. Why would I want to help promote the use of those kitten RNG boxes (even if its a roundabout way)? Its people like you that keep us from buying skins directly.
Also, whomever keeps saying that Evon doesn’t make the boxes, just the keys, why the kitten are they named Black Lion Chests? He obviously makes them, or at least sells them to the uninformed npcs.

Not true. All the NPCs are well informed about how BL Chest work. They in turn inform the players who purchase them. The complainers who rally against RNG are the ones who skip the fine print, and expect guaranteed results from randomness.

Regardless of this, if Anet puts votes for sale in the Gem Store, I’ll make sure that Evon wins by a landslide. My wallet is ready to support his candidacy.

Nah. It’s about voting for whoever we think is best. IC and lore-wise, I think Kiel is a better fit. And I can’t force myself to vote for Evon due to RNG being linked to him through the BLTC, which he does run.

1) I don’t see how the mechanics of playing as a god is hard. The player’s skill bar would simply be replaced with unique skills, and the avatar is easily changed. In GW1, there were god-mode forms that players could transform into. Anet could simply take that look, and re-work it into GW2

2) With the gods leaving, they could just be allowing the races of Tyria to push back the Elder Dragons on their own. Perhaps the gods have that much faith in the people. Considering all races allied to take down Zhaitan, there’s no real need for the gods intervention.

- GW2 parties are set at 5.
- FotM instance to look at the historic fight

I can only conclude that when Evon wins, this FotM map will have you playing as one of the 5 gods: Balthazar • Dwayna • Grenth • Lyssa • Melandru

That’s all nice and pretty, but alas about 0.01% of rich people are concerned with the world and actually do something to better it. The other 99.99% just sit on their backsides, count their “beans,” and enjoy the luxury. And Evon Gnashblade is definitely a prime specimen of that 99.99%. He did nothing for the protection of Lion’s Arch, Claw Island, the merchant ships, or the dozens of fishing villages and ports that were wiped out by Zhaitan. He did nothing for the refugees of the dragon war or the Molten insurgence. All he did was getting richer by taxing the real heroes who put an end to Zhaitan. All the while thousands suffered who he could’ve helped get better with the dirty contents of the hole in his left pocket.

@ Shemsu: We don’t know the circumstances of Abaddon’s fall, and it’s definitely a very interesting topic. Don’t be an extremist like these money-loving pawns of Gnashblade (the same argument is legit for Thaumanova – we don’t know the whole story but we know the outcome). I’d love to see it one day, but not right now. It would blow all the mystery with a sub-par, 15-to-30-minutes-long instance. It should be as epic as any godly battle in God of War, imo.

#TeamKiel

I’m actually for Kiel, but since she offers nothing, I’m voting for Evon. It’s pretty simple really. Kiel = no benefit except for a pretty face / Evon = cheap keys

In Evon’s defense, he did help equip all the heroes with weapons and armor. Without him, we wouldn’t have been able to slay the dragon. In a roundabout way, Evon helped to slay Zhaitan.
