It’s unfortunate that there’s so many complaints here. It comes down to “entitlement”, since hard content means effort, and there are players who just want to finish achievements as easily and quickly as possible.

Guild Wars 2 was based off the idea that you can’t just zerg ever single event to win. T4 Trials are an example of this. You have to use skills like pulls, blinds, blocks, etc. Mashing the 1 button won’t get you anywhere here, esp. with uncoordinated groups who don’t prioritize targets.

This is hard as heck, and I’ve only managed to beat it once (with Bronze). Hard content is hard. Learn from your mistakes, and experiment with build setups. You get stunned a lot? Bring a stun breaker. Plunderers moving too fast? Slow them down with mines or control skills. Unable to try different approaches to hard content? Queensdale is that way —>

No, it’s a bug. Anet was preparing codes for the Chinese release, and some showed up in game for the votes. People can’t mess with the codes of items that you pick up (as shown on the right side of the screen).

Actually, they can. You know the codes to get color change text? Those are items.

Example, one of them is a Mystic Clover. If you link a real Mystic Clover, it will appear as

But that’s not the chat box in the picture. That’s the icons that appear when you pick up your loot. No player can alter that data, unless they hack into the game.

Don’t know if the RNG gods were shining upon me, or if the Clover drop rate got stealth buffed, but I have way too many Mystic Clovers at the moment. All I wanted were more T6 mats. Since the Clovers were dropping so much, I had to stop, or I’d be wasting a ton of Ecto and Mystic Coins.

I would like to recommend some other recipes to utilize Clovers, since anything above 77 would just be merchant food. Perhaps they can be added to some future Ascended gear MF recipes?

Enemies still drop coins from time to time. There’s no need for alarm.

I do stuff like this for fun. While I lose money, I know the look on the faces of the other traders. I’m glad there’s no bidder ID as of yet, or else people would be hunting me down in game.

I think your problem might be a bad IP connection, and the fact that you’re running a Mac. Macs aren’t made for gaming.

No. I was doing the 10x forging, and was getting too many Clovers, and too few T6. I think the Clover drop rates have been stealth buffed.

Even though the above comments are satire this is what the devs get and what we see in the forum with each living story after living story. It would have been simple to make this an event where you could choose a team or even pug a group, true. I think this was intentionally solo content to calm the nerves of people who want to play an MMO without interacting with people while at the same time giving them content that is a challenge, felt rewarding, and could contain an epic sense of game play all with out the need of a party or having to use a dungeon.

But wait. If this is a “personal portal”, wouldn’t that mean you’d have to jump yourself to the end of a JP in order to use this portal… to port yourself back up?

What’s there to explain? The items are bound to the characters you place them on. IF you delete the characters, the tools are forever gone. This thread should actually go in the Suggestion forums, to which you can ask Anet to consider “un-soulbinding” things in the future.

It seems like they intended to have a canthan district in early stages of the game but somehow changed their mind at some point and erased it, creating the great collapse in the process.
They (tried) to delete every mention in the lore of the game of this district and made instead an art district which is the one supposed to have been destroyed in the collapse.

However, they somehow forgot some mention of the original canthan district and that’s why there’s still some NPCs mentioning it.
I think these mentions must be seen as oversights from dev side and should not be taken as lore.

Anything not officially released shouldn’t be taken as actual lore.

There are Canthan’s still in Kryta. All my human characters are Canthan in my lore choice. So sorry mate, you can deny it all you want, but you just admitted that Cantha existed pre-release.

Just a final quick note, I’m certainly not denying that at one point a Canthan district was planned and partially implemented. But the actual lore of the district that the game shipped doesn’t support it very well right now.
I think it’s great that you guys are fans of Cantha and I would personally like to see it in the game as well. But what you’ll be finding under that tent (very soon) is not Canthan. I’m just making assumptions here, but if we did return to Cantha I suspect it would be a really big deal, way too big to fit under the even largest of tents, or even in an existing city at all.

After the game shipped there was NO Canthan District anymore in Lore or otherwise.

On a side note, Yeng Isen, who is/was a part of the Order of Whispers, is from the “Canthan areas of Divinity’s Reach”.

The ambient dialog at times was pretty good, and almost none of it worthy of eye rolls that make you appear to be having a seizure.

Knowing that that group has taken over the story mode writing leaves me wondering how painful it must be to have to write off the expense of building a time machine so they could go back and hire a 7 year old Stephenie Meyer to write the personal stories that shipped with the game. She won’t be unemployed long though, in a few years she’ll realize the ‘sparkling zombie’ craze is ripe for plucking and will write a whole new series called “Dusk”.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the wit and charm of the ambient text to show up in future story dialog!

Let’s hope the sparkling zombie craze goes away soon, or some fanfics might come out, and then we’ll have 50 Shades of Gaile next…

Plaintiffs seeking declaratory and injunctive relief against Defendant, state the following:

Introduction

1. This lawsuit is brought to preserve the integrity, consistency, equality, and ?nality of the most important civic action that residents of Lion’s Arch take: their votes in an election for the Captain’s Council. It is brought reluctantly, because the election of the Captain’s Council is properly left to the people, not the Court. But it is necessary because the current course of events threatens to undermine that democratic process.
2. Defendant Kiel committed fraud upon Plaintiffs and the citizens of Lion’s Arch by promising a reduction in Way Point costs to which she has no power or authority to reduce.
3. Defendant Kiel further committed fraud upon Plaintiffs and the citizens of Lion’s Arch by falsifying claims to Evon Gnashblade supporters that ArenaNet (Anet) would do both Fractal events if they voted for the Defendant.
4. Defendant Kiel attempted to defraud Plaintiffs and the citizens of Lion’s Arch by releasing an altered and forged Birth Certificate. Defendant Kiel was well aware that the Birth Certificate was altered and forged, as the original document was in the name Scarlet Kiel.

Preliminary Statement

5. This is a civil action for declaratory and injunctive relief. This action seeks to prevent further and needless counting of the ballots in the gamewide election of the Captain’s Council.

Jurisdiction and Venue

6. This is a civil action for declaratory and injunctive relief under Section I of the Lion’s Arch Voting Rights Act of 1245.
7. The jurisdiction of this Court is based on L.A.C. § 450.
8. Venue is proper in this Court because the Defendant resides within Lion’s Arch.

Parties

9. Plaintiff Smooth Penguin is a registered voter in Lion’s Arch. In the election for Captain’s Council, Plaintiff Penguin sought to cast his vote for Evon Gnashblade.
10. Plaintiff Evon Gnashblade is co-founder and leader of the Black Lion Trading Company, and is a candidate for Captain’s Council. Plaintiff Gnashblade has a substantial interest in having a fair and just election, as the Defendant’s actions violate the due process rights of Evon Gnashblade.
11. Defendant Ellen Kiel, aka Captain Ellen Kiel, aka Captain Ellen, aka Captain Kiel, aka Kiel the Killer, aka Scarlet, aka Scarlet Kiel is a candidate of Captain’s Council.

Factual Background

12. As of July 26, 2013, preliminary vote results showed Kiel had 1,249,185 (52%), while Evon had 1,153,093 (48%).
13. If declaratory and injunctive relief is not given, it would be extremely unfair to Lion’s Arch if there is any question as to the Defendant’s eligibility to serve if elected.

Irreparable Injury

14. As stated above, Plantiffs and the citizens of Lion’s Arch would suffer irreparable harm if declaratory and injunctive relief is not granted. Plaintiffs do not have any other way of redress regarding these very significant and important issues.

Claim for Relief

15. Plaintiffs repeat and allege paragraphs 1 – 14
16. Defendant’s actions have violated the Voter Plaintiffs’ rights under the L.A.C. with outright fraud.
17. For the above aforementioned reasons, Defendant Kiel needs to immediately step down and withdraw her candidacy for Captain’s Council.

WHEREFORE, Plaintiffs pray for a judgment and order:
A. Declare that Defendant Ellen Kiel, aka Captain Ellen Kiel, aka Captain Ellen, aka Captain Kiel, aka Kiel the Killer, aka Scarlet, aka Scarlet Kiel is ineligible to run for Captain’s Council.
