As you said, though, Evon is offering more. And that is no way to have an election unless you want the outcome predecided. Which is what it seems.
Offering campaign promises is a time honored tradition. If one person offers a better promise, the opponent needs to respond with something that bests the other. So if Kiel were to change up her offerings to something that would benefit the players more, this election would turn quickly to her side.
This post is obviously focuses on people who play more than one character yet some people miss this obvious fact. Please be more constructive in the future.
Just wondering. Are you saying that if you have multiple characters, and you get an Ecto on one of them, that all your characters should get an Ecto too?
While I have much love and respect for Kiel, there’s no way she’s going to win. I had planned on giving all my votes to her… up until Evon promised discounted Black Lion Keys.
How dare Evon do this to me! Kiel offers nothing compared to the discounts off of the much sought after items. I must vote with my wallet, no matter how much it pains me. There is no other option at this point…
This brings up the following questions: Is there a way that Kiel will change her promised offers? And would it be OK for us to start a petition to have Kiel offer more to (cough)buy(cough) our votes?
BLC RNG is a scam! A vote against Evon is a statement against gem store RNG skins.
Look. Evon Gnashblade isn’t responsible for RNG mechanics. Blame the asura for that one. Who else would mess with random generated numbers in the Eternal Alchemy?
I don’t approve of Evon personally, but he is offering more than Kiel. I think all this push-back against him is starting to be more about species bias than politics. The Searing happened so long ago. Charr are people too.
There’s still no confirmation that Cantha is being worked on. I think we need to start mailing cake and pastries to Anet HQ to let them know we’re serious.
I think that if you threw in nothing but Exotics, your rates are double over using just Rares? I’m only speculating of course.
Quite recently, 10 Jul, I bought €20 worth of gems. And today people are getting kites for purchasing gems in the past months. But for some reason the people who bought gems THIS month (me included) get the cold shoulder and are left with nothing but an open inventory slot. Why the hell is that!?!?
Maybe if you support Anet with regular Gem purchases, you might be happier?
I heard rumors that Evon Gnashblade is the mythical Sandwichmancer. When he wins, that profession might be released. Unnamed officials with the Black Lion Trading Company verified this information.
This thread is hilarious.
I’m loving the election so far. We need more events like this one.
No, this thread is sad. I wanted to vote for Kiel, but there’s no incentive to do so. Evon wins. Might as well end the election early, and give us the discounted keys now.
More evidence that Evon’s win is guaranteed:
Colin just said on the livestream (which just ended a few minutes ago) that the Fall of Abaddon refers to the events taking place before the original Guild Wars game.
In case you’re curious about what Colin actually said, you can view the recording of the livestream here: http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/c/2585362
No matter what your reason is for voting for Evon, it’s a done deal. As the saying goes: Nothing in life is guaranteed, except death, taxes, and Evon Gnashblade.
I have a feeling that people that have played GW1 and know about abaddon are a minority. I wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of the populace votes Kiel, simply because of how Evon has been portrayed in game so far.
Minority? You may want to recheck your poll numbers, or the unnamed sources of your information.
I can tell you that while Evon is a ruthless trader, his company is the one responsible for providing us a market to trade our goods, and special products like the Horn and Flute.
Kiel might have high poll numbers in the “likeable” category, but she is unelectable in this current matchup.

Anet has some good working relationships with Kiel, and should ask her to amend her promised offers, or step down and have someone else run. Everyone knows Evon is winning at this point. Cheaper keys. Better dungeons. Etc.
Maybe we’ll be allowed a write in candidate? #Foostivoo
But we never saw a discount for waypoint prices, and tbh everybody uses waypoints, and complains how costly they are, so it’s much more useful and beneficial for players in whole.
The only people who complain about WP costs are new players who don’t have much money at the start. If a lv 80 character player would complain about a few Silver for WPs, it’s like someone trying to beg for $1 off of a $800 Louis Vuitton purse.
Do realise that if black lion chests cost less, the value of gems compared to gold will rise to compensate. Evon is well aware of this.
Then again, cheaper waypoints are just useless.
But I buy a lot of Gems, thus I never really have to worry about the exchange rates. But there are times when I would exchange when the rate is really low, then flip them during promotion spikes for a small profit. So cheaper keys works for us in two ways.
WP cost are already cheap. Going from LA to Frostgorge to kill a dragon is roughly 4 Silver at lv 80. That cost is recovered almost instantly with a single Ori node or Ancient tree farm. The Dragon Chest offers a guaranteed Rare or sometimes an Exotic. So as you can see, the costs of WP travel is minor. Even if WP cost are free for 4 weeks, that’s nothing compared to cheaper keys.
People will vote with their wallets, and Evon’s offers justify that. Kiel needs to understand that a majority of GW2 players are all about the coin.
Webba, Evon’s chests always change, and offers great boosts and weapon skins.
Besides, it’s not just about RNG, but at what point you can beat it. By offering cheaper keys, we can now purchase more chances at trying. More keys = more chances to beat RNG.
Again, I wanted to vote Kiel, but she offers nothing compared to Evon.
That being said i did wish that at 50/50 you could put 1 weapon from gw1 into hom to unlock that skin in gw2 ie my envoy staff but im not going to ask for more than what they already have given us.
Excellent suggestion. Tormented swords should be in this game.
Guild Wars 2 is not a sequel to the original. It is an alternate.
Sorry, but your post doesn’t make much sense. GW2 is the sequel to the same game as GW1.

The process is to be careful before you do things. If you have a character you want to delete, empty him before doing so.
I hope Bank Tabs go on sale again, because I’m running out of room for all these cool new stuff!!!
The vocal minority is always the whiners. Since GW2 is such a great game, there’s no reason to complain except to troll.
*Puts on straw hat
Saying GW2 is a bad game is like saying bacon sucks. Everyone knows bacon is awesome, therefore the previous sentence is untrue.
Point is this: it’s already kitten account bound, I can’t sell it and so I cannot damage the market at all, this 1 per day BS is a blatantly punishing time wasting gate for anyone that plays multiple characters.
This is like saying: “I want to be able to buy one gear, and have it be equipped on all my multiple characters.”
Complaining about quartz conversions being limited to once a day is like complaining about Precursors being rare.
“Entitled” people are entitled to their opinions, I know I know.
One has little to do with the other. I can toss thousands of rare or exotics in the forge and get as many precursors as possible…
This not to mention everything after the crystal is account bound, so it wouldn’t even impact the market.
I wish what you said made some sense, but in this case it really is pretty far off.
If the goal was to make this stat more rare, sure, but it’s open to everyone without much expense beyond a time commitment.
Ok ok, I’ll amend my post with the following:
Complaining about quartz conversions being limited to once a day is like complaining about Daily achievements being limited to once a day.
Yes x 10. I approve of this idea!
Again one of the most outstanding example of pure greed. Disgusting!
It’s not greed if it’s deserved.
Complaining about quartz conversions being limited to once a day is like complaining about Precursors being rare.
“Entitled” people are entitled to their opinions, I know I know.
You let your brother play on your account. Since this is against the rules, your account should be fully banned.
There can be no expansion without being able to play as a quaggan.

A player had a great new suggestion!
How about… 100 AP for every level 20 toon you have in GW1 and for every year they have been around? :-)
I will throw this in for Anet to consider, in addition to bonus points and/or a special emote and/or a Precursor for people with maxed 50/50 HoM.

Yes x 10. I approve of this idea!
Pay to Win implies “paying”. If you can exchange in game Gold for in game Gems, it’s no longer considered “paying”, since there’s no purchase required.
Case dismissed.
Short Story: The Trek of the Zephyrites
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/community-news/short-story-the-trek-of-the-zephyrites/Why can’t this lore be explained in game? Most players who don’t visit the website.
How putting this in books, or in game mail. Or a scavenger hunt where player must collect book pages.
Most people don’t bother to talk to NPCs to learn about lore. If no one visits the GW2 website regularly, that’s their loss.
Let’s end this jelly roll. GW1 vets earned their place in GW2. I’ll enjoy my points, and ask that Anet consider giving those with maxed HoM bonus points!
Or did you send it to the wrong person?
I think he’s saying that people don’t care to take the time to look something up, or search the stickies. As an example, look how many players constantly post new threads about the phishing e-mails, when a merged thread dedicated to them is sometimes near the top.
Still, major props to Gaile for putting up with us for the past 10 years. I do miss her LA trains.
Hard content is hard. Getting all achievements is worthy of praise. If I wanted “easy mode”, I’d run CoF.
Still being shot by guns or arrows while being invisible? Once an auto attack is initiated a person can still take damage while hidden. Can we make it so all attacks miss while invisible?
It’s nice to see someone suggest this. Thieves are normally at a disadvantage, mainly because of the mechanics of a charged skill following a stealth’d Thief.
There are too many quartz in game. We get so many from simply running the race multiple times.
I don’t understand the OP problem. 500 AP are irrelevant for a new player starting today, compared to 10 months of missed dailies/montlies.
I think the OP wants all new players to be on the same level as current players too. So that means all of us need to have our stats reset each time a new player joins the game.
I’m still trying to figure this out. What are you basing your assumptions on? More free stuff = ending the game? Or do you mean that since you’ve run out of things to enjoy doing, you’re ending your own game until GW3?
Saying he’s bugged because you can’t beat him is like complaining that Rock-Paper-Scissors is bugged in real life.
Note – I understand he’s hard. Work at it, and you can win.
He’s already been fixed. I was finally able to beat him last nite.
Also Gabby, if the race isn’t full at the end, and someone joins, they timer keeps going. Same thing if the race is full, but someone new joins after someone leaves after crossing the finish line.
This game requires skill. You gotta understand the mechanics in order to formulate a strategy.
To those who think this game is broken: I managed to beat all masters without using food buffs. Took me a while, but I did it. The last boss took me about 5 rounds before I figured out his pattern. Then it’s a simple use of the special skills at the right times.
For me, he’s healed some times several times in a row, used a belch or heal before he could (I keep track), etc….There is some skill, but A LOT of luck. Some people here said he rarely went more than 3 drinks without using the heal or belch, but Ive had some rounds where he won’t drink for 6 rounds, then heal (sometimes healing again right after he does it). The boss is definitely very very buggy.
Hint – Poyaqui mimics your choices up until a certain point.
Gaile deserves a bonus for putting up with this. I’ll e-mail Colin with the suggestion to double her pay.

There are a few of us 50/50 players that wouldn’t mind even MORE bonus points. Just throwing that out there in case Anet decides to give us extra bonuses for maxing our HoMs.
What is the difference between a macro button pressing F once a second and a finger pressing F once per second? Neither will get more loot than the other. Neither gives an advantage.
The only thing changed is less strain on the hand, which is healthier.
Difference is, if you automate the clicking, you are getting an unfair advantage over people who have to manually click.
If you need to spam click to open bags or activate items in your inventory (i.e. alcohol for drinking title), you need to click through it like the rest of us. Otherwise, enjoy your timeout if you get caught.
I love it when John shuts down silly assumptions.
I had a funny thought towards OP’s “it’s the same game” logic.
If you do believe that you should be playing GW1 and asking for a Precursor in GW1 for your 50/50. There’s no precursor in GW1? How could that be It’s the same game!!
Also I think you’d be fine if when you ordered GW2 from amazon or whatever and get GW1 instead…it’s the same game just take it.
Precusors are needed to create a Legendary weapon. Legendary weapons didn’t exist yet in GW1, since it takes many centuries for such a weapon to gain that status. So your example is invalid.
I would like to point out that we did have similar rare weapons in GW1. They’re called Tormented weapons. When they first came out, they were worth a lot more then than Precursors now. As more Tormented weapons came to the market, the lower the prices fell. A similar thing will happen to Precursors
But let’s not derail the topic. There has been some good suggestions on what a bonus could be. Now that it’s been discussed, it seems like there are too many “titles” currently, and that getting a Precursor (while rightfully deserved) might be a little too much for free. That leaves the idea of a unique emote that 50/50 players could get. Similar to the /aion wings or the original /rank animal profiles.
If you don’t have your keep, you better organize a party to take it back. Otherwise, you’ll have no JP.
