We require more swiftness cause Ranger’s KITE without swiftness we can’t even keep a target off us.

Sick of hearing this beating drum “1500 Range”, gap closers + swiftness = in my face in seconds so fast I can’t even run away. Engi/Ele/War/Thief can close on us so fast builds that use LB become really weak real fast, you forced to change to Melee which on a ranger is a joke as it has some of the craziest tell’s I’ve ever seen.

“Hi I’m a Engineer Stealth + Pull” gl dodging that or even being able to keep that combo at 1500 range, complain more about ranger’s not need swiftness cause of 1500 range.

If your War/Ele/Engi/Thief and complain about Ranger’s getting more swiftness you just need to learn how to play your playing classes that have both Range + mobility + gap closer.

Your backpoint bunker built to 1v1 and hold home and push far, you have no mobility as a RANGER. You won’t take a Ranger for that spot he is useless.

Also if your one of them *&$% that posts builds saying take this and do that Rangers are fine, you honestly have no idea wtf your talking about so please take the time to learn the class first before you talk like you know wtf your on about.

From the perspective of a Warrior running quad swap sigils, that’s correct.

From the perspective of anything else, sigils are the thing that is causing Engi/Ele to pull away from other professions.

Swap sigils are massive components of the Cele meta, Engi, Ele, War, the best Cele professions, get way more battle power from swap sigils than the rest of the professions get from crit, or swap sigils.

If the game was less ‘sigil heavy’ these professions wouldn’t be as meta.

Sigils are the enemy if you want the Cele meta to be toned down.

Sigils are not solely responsible for Engi and Ele damage, survivability, mobility, and team support. I find it hard to believe that over the course of the past week you so adamantly defend what’s bad for the game. I don’t say that because I think those classes are blatantly overpowered either (they need slight adjustments to tone down to other classes), but because I expect more from you as a player and person in the community. You’ve been defending what makes your class broken in the eyes of many and keep trying to argue against changes that would benefit the game but harm your class/teammates classes. A lot of these suggestions are perfectly legitimate and viable solutions to the problems that are currently in the game but the solutions that you offer instead don’t actually change anything about Ele sustain (sigils don’t touch their sustain and that is a far larger issue than Ele damage) or Engi damage (nerfing battle won’t change much. Pry Bar, Jump Shot, Blunderbuss, Throw Wrench will all still hit for at least 4k crit and your sustain remains unchanged). To be frank it’s appalling reading your posts as you come to the rescue of your class and your teammate’s classes. People look up to your opinion but I can’t see you being anything but selfish at the moment.

The only reason I even bother commenting is because you’ve been doing this for the past week and it’s rather misleading for the community. Again, I expected more from you. I suppose it doesn’t matter much at this point though.

P.S. If they nerf sigils other classes will be hit harder than Ele and Engi unless they specifically target Battle/Doom/Intelligence alone. Cele Shoutbow Warrior is also far weaker of a spec than both Cele Ele and Cele Engi. The only reason it really does well currently is because it does extremely well against those classes and provides a good amount of team support. Burst counters Shoutbow with ease (something even you have with Cele Engi if you use Intelligence properly).

Only real way to make Traps viable is putting them all into Trapper’s bundle and adding “Dust Trap” which blinds like we had in GW1. Works just like kit’s but its our own style.

There is no need to revamps or movement of trap traits, this would give us them 2 extra Utilite slots we require for skills like Stone/Renewal combo. Problem solved and Trap Ranger would be viable.

I can already see 3-4 different amulet options depending on your roll.

Not sure why everyone is having a go at The Adjured, I didn’t watch the match had to “work”, but I seen heaps of Ele’s live on the stream abusing the “exploit”.

It’s an exploit, which is in the rule set of ESL. They don’t say anything about what happens if you use unfair advantage to win, so if you all want to complain about Ele using an exploit then every single team would require looking at.

If anything ESL Admins need to ask the question what is the punishment for using an exploit, then enforce it. To late now for them to turn back the clock.

Also exploit aside, it won’t change the outcome The Adjured is still going to win, only way anyone will beat them is if the next balance patch gut’s there comp.

@Abaddon.2105, Ithilwen.1529, you two seem to have next to know idea what your talking about. First I want you to look at all build’s for E.g. on Meta builds website then tell me where you see out of combat swiftness.

Any good ranger wouldn’t take Signet of Hunt, sorry but we require all 3 Utilities slots for defensive skills.

Warhorn only works with Spirit Ranger, it’s uttly hopeless currently with power build or condition build.

Longbow Ranger get’s countered extremely fast, if you keep taking full rapid fire to the face you need to learn how to play. Thieve’s can close the gap in around 1-2 seconds lol so when Ranger’s can close gaps that fast and deal massive amounts of damage in melee and teleport and stealth and blind then I might think maybe we don’t need swiftness.

Anyone whom plays ranger at high level darn well know’s our only mobility comes from the bloody GS leap or Sword Leap. 2ndly we are kite/dodge class so we require speed to keep range in order to deal our LOW DAMAGE OUTPUT.

Just so most people who complain rangers do to much damage, sorry but we are around 5th best burst class, Thief/Mes/Necro/Engi all out burst us and have if not better survival with there burst build so please #$%#@ up, about ranger’s doing to much burst damage.

Also I would love to see Tail Wind, work out of combat, if we don’t get swiftness then Engi’s/War/Ele being main ones with perma swiftness also shouldn’t have it.

If they Nerf CeleEle and CeleEngi, they have to nerf CeleWar. Sorry but CeleWar will become king of the backpoint to point they will never lose a 1v1 ever. Would almost become requirement for every single team to run a CeleWar as your backpoint or your going to lose. Only way I can see CeleWar being shaved isn’t to there build but to Sigil’s. They are bloody strong and make half the builds these days which is so stupid.

Also if they nerf the current meta and burst comes back into play. They need to take a look at burst builds. Thief is the King of Burst, no matters how you look at it every single burst class all complains about thieves farming them. The main problem being S/D and evade spamming you never hear many complain about other thief builds it’s always S/D and there evades.

Here is good E.g. Map was FoeFire Turret Engineer was other side of the map he left his turrets on our home point, I was full glass Zerker. Took me month of Sundays to kill by the time I had finally gotten the Thumper turret down the Engineer was back. Was so stupid I was already at 50% life just from his Ai killing me.

Felt like I was doing PvE and suddenly PK’er turned up. Was so stupid.

If anything Thumper Turret should take Critical Damage. Bloody stupid how Turret’s aren’t effect by anything bar base damage.

To beat Turret Engi you gotta kill there Turret’s now picture what it must be like for Condition Build, doing almost no damage to turret’s. Mean while Spirit’s take everything like a boss. Also I don’t want Spirit’s buffed so sick of being forced to play a build I hate.

@Zoose.1640, Your idea’s don’t address the problem’s at hand. Massive Chunk of builds on every class are effected by how the CeleEle’s Trait’s work. The damage is high once you stack your might which isn’t hard to do at all, but your defensive side is where problem is.

You can say Cele War/Engi are a problem but that’s where your wrong, at first I was a hater towards both classes but after you play both classes and understand there weakness doesn’t become a problem anymore its more of a player skill problem rather then being carried by a build.

CeleEle, the defensive side leaves very little window’s for many builds across classes to apply there damage effectively. Only 2 classes that are able to hurt a CeleEle are Necro and Mesmer but they have major draw backs so the risk vs reward balance’s out.

Now say your any class and your attacking an CeleEle, you can change to Water, Air or Earth to counter incoming damage. Both Aura’s in Water and Air have no cast time and apply a 4 second Protection. Say your being burst and you change to water and hit #4 just by doing that you have removed condition’s good chance your regen proc’ed, I could go on for age’s with how many counters do spikes damage you have with next to no skill required. It’s mostly Passive play that’s keeping you alive letting you go on the offensive.

There just to much upkeep on Protection/Vigor. They need to look at Aura cast time’s so you can’t just swap Attune and cast an Aura it’s extremely fast and counter’s most incoming damage, Frost Aura being a major counter to burst. Now let’s not forget if your in a tight spot you can just pop your Cantrip’s as a final save me card. The mitigation of damage from CeleEle is insane most classes don’t even come close to being able to save themselves. Just take look at CeleEngi, he require’s Active game play from Kb’s and Immob’s to control the fight, there Toolkit being there only really way to mitigate damage.

Nerf’ing Sigil’s is far from real problem at hand, both CeleEngi and CeleWar have major counter’s unlike CeleEle which has limited counter and to counter CeleEle require fair amount of skill from the Mesmer or Necro.

Now the next problem is due to way CeleEle work’s it’s able to combo with CeleEngi and CeleWar extremely effectively, both offensive and defensive. Now if you Combo CeleEngi and CeleWar together they become less effective they are beatable, unlike CeleEle combo which has stupid amounts of sustain and support.

They need to look at Vigor/Protection upkeep on CeleEle first before buffing other classes, cause if they buff other classes and nerf the CeleEle we could see complete flip where CeleEle becomes easy to kill due to nerfs and buff’s when all that is really required is Nerf’s to one class rather then buffs to other classes. Also they need to fix bug’s.

There is a reason no good team runs a ranger, they are underpowered if anything.

No good team runs a Ranger because they don’t have anyone who knows how to utilize the class to its fullest. Let alone skillful at playing it either.

It’s been tried, this meta well on NA counter’s Rangers. Until they nerf CeleEle, Ranger won’t be in the meta.

Ranger has allot of useless Traits and Utilities, some of our CD’s are stupidly long and we require heavy investment.

Once CeleEle takes a hit, Ranger will come back into the meta but I think your going to see Spirit Builds again which sucks. Maybe some teams might take LB but only decent skill’s on that weapon is Rapid Fire and Point Blank Shot, Greatsword sucks for damage.

In this meta Ranger feels like a Mesmer requires a Team built around them with the right support. We don’t need the condition remove but we don’t have the escape like other burst builds and what I mean is S/D Thieve’s a good one will run rings around you so unless you have someone in your team comp that is build to peel and handle S/D Thieve’s your going to have same problem Mesmer’s do in fact any burst build.

There are two ways to kill Cele Engi/Ele/Warr

Burst or Condis

This build has neither

That’s all there really is to it – sadly power ranger IMO will never have its day in this game – Mes/Thief is simply superior

At least in a Condition build 2/0/6/6/0 you can stalemate with an Ele/Engi/Warr while your team comes to rotate and help you out

Believe what you like, just matter of time. Engineer and Warrior aren’t really a problem for a Longbow Ranger’s, it’s honestly CeleEle’s and S/D Thieves. Mesmer’s yes deal awesome damage but it’s allot harder for them to be in the meta when they require such heavy team investment to keep one alive.

I see heaps of posts about how my build does no burst how is mine any different to any other Power Build no one has gone and posted a build that is better, Eura has posted the glass cannon build which I know does more damage just its dies to fast when focused.

I would like to see these so called builds that are good at top tier in which I mean can sustain in 2v2 3v3 team fights and 1v1.

The thing is doesn’t matter what Power Build you go a Top Tier CeleEle and S/D thief and that’s how it’s balanced atm. Sick reading stupid posts about how you beat CeleEle’s when Yeah I beat them all the time but I can tell when I face a good one they are on hope new level. Try taking your build against the WTS winners like I have many of times.

The only thing I hate about EB is that it’s not “true” removal. I feel that the devs overnerfed it, given its limitations (600 range and useless when pet’s down).

As for SotF, I used to be a fan of it, but not so sure of it anymore. The main reason is you’ll want to dedicate 8 trait points to make good use of it.

I also enjoyed the Pet Damage back there not so much there Ai but maybe if they had better Ai back then rangers would of been really strong.

youre starting to sound too conceded for my taste. I don’t feel 6/2/6 brings anything new to the “power ranger meta”, if that is a thing. you don’t have any burst. you don’t have any immobilizes. you lack mobility without traveler runes. as a power ranger, the best way to support your team is by roaming and killing kitten, and sotf keeps you alive and moving. EB is bad. SoR is bad because you will always use it for the stun break function. lastly, you don’t do more damage because I have the luxury of slotting QZ. that in itself is usually a guaranteed kill.

but if your build gets YOU results, then keep on rolling. but don’t sell it as the best and only power build because it really isn’t for many reasons. a lot of us play in the higher brackets and speak from experience as well. to conclude, youre absolutely wrong about sotf being ineffective on a power build so just drop that argumentation imo.

I tested all variations of power builds and settled on sotf after hundreds of hours of testing – not just out on a whim. I would much rather roll with the glassier attack of opportunity build than what you’ve got there. it brings way more to the team.

Your the one trying to sell sotf, stop claiming incorrect facts not going to waste my time on someone who has no idea.

This is why you barely see any Rangers in the current meta, more then half of you completely forget this game isn’t designed around you and your perfect tactics. Rotations are a big part to Team Que and allot of your fights will be 2v2 -3v3.

For Power Ranger to be in the meta, CeleEle needs to be nerf’ed and out escape/mobility has to be improved. Our weapon skills on both LB and GS need improvement.

I’f I was to improve anything I would change Barrage so you can cast while moving, I was turn Maul into blast finisher, I would add blind to Point Blank Shot and a Evade to Hunter’s Shot. Even with that we are still at a loss in terms of survival compared to Thief and Mesmer.

Sotf Power is superior to eb Power.
1.on demand condi clear
2.higher crit Chance due to 80% + fury uptime
3.higher Power due to adept trait in nature
4. Much more control over opponent thru entangle and muddy Terrain
5.more hp

Cons:
Slightly squishier vs other Power builds
Slightly lower crit dmg (2%?)

PS: qz is Not needed, i prefer spider over owl because it doesnt die as easily and Has alot immob and a Poisen field.

Mate, please go test my build vs the Sotf build, for starters you do less damage even with high upkeep on fury.

Also how does on demand condition remove help you when classes E.g. Warrior running LB/Shout build can apply burning almost none stop. Let’s say they land a pin-down which all good warriors I know have high % thats poison/bleeds/immob/burning now you can’t evade so you can’t remove soon after he hits you with big burst you have NO protection at all, so this on demand bull crap has nothing on my 4 conditions every 10 seconds with Healing Spring and Renewal. Now you could LR out of this combo but Sotf won’t beat a Shout Warrior 1v1, Spite must uttly destroy you along with fear necros. The list of builds at the top that will destroy you is rather large it’s almost every single Meta build. You can turn around and say you stealth and re-position that won’t do much vs a good thief who can cross the map in seconds.

“Slightly squishier” more like completely squishier, you run almost no toughness with no protection you will get farmed really easy.

You didn’t even bother to go and test the builds or you wouldn’t of stated some stupid fact’s. Here have some toilet paper you need it.

Now explain to me your stuck in a 2v2 how do you support your team mate. You don’t have Renewal if you do you don’t have Stone Signet, what do you do your team mate is a Engineer and a Necro just condition bombed him he can’t remove the conditions. Do you just sit there spamming Rapid Fire and Immobs that won’t save him.

@mistsim.2748, I believe this will be one of them “agree to disagree” convo’s. You dislike EB on a Power build and I dislike Sotf on a Power Build some dislike both on a Power build.

With all that aside, there are pro’s and con’s to each build. You like your QZ Spike I feel having one heavy hitting combo every 46 seconds isn’t worth the trouble unless you take Wild Signet and combo them together which yes can take a CeleEle down.

It’s known fact that CeleEle is just to strong for rangers atm, its pains me that the meta has shifted in this direction makes life extremely hard, we finally get build options and meta pushes us out.

Hi, this topic is rather funny but all that aside.

Yes we hate Celestial Amulet, I also hate S/D thieve’s they farm almost every Berserker Class in the game, but having a go at our WTS Champs over running Amulet is rather stupid, seems like most of you seem to forget core of there team have been teaming up from as far back as October 2013 that’s insane amount of time to learn and trust your team mate. They have some of if not best rotations in the game, just look at Toker he is a machine always in the right place at the right time S/D aside I it doesn’t change the fact he knows what to do. Even Chaith you can say he only good cause he runs Cele Engineers but fact is he was in the top 3 Engineers before Cele became meta the other 2 Engineer’s I would pick don’t even play the game anymore.

If I was to balance Celestial Amulet, I would almost completely remove Power/Condition/Critical Damage from the Amulet leaving the sustain and might stacking alone, big reason the Amulet works so well is due to the Critical Damage scaling so well once you reach around 2k power.

I also think Ele’s have way to much sustain due to traits not Cele alone. Protection/Regen/Vigor/Swiftness/Fury. Just feels like they are getting best of everything.

I’m going to spend some time using Traveler’s with the 6/2/6 build using LR+Entangle traited. Hopefully I can handle s/d thieves better I know we have no real chance vs CeleEle so I don’t count them at current moment.

ive taken down some good cele eles with my sotf power build and even good s/d thieves are manageable, but u don’t wanna use it so I cant help u much.

the power build u present just doesn’t have enough on-demand condi clears, which is likely why youre struggling, and it also doesn’t have any real burst (no quickness, no attack of opportunity). empathic bond just sucks, unless youre bunkering or playing attrition on point.

Find that hard to believe I have more condition remove. I would love to see you take down CeleEle or S/D a good one, I kill them all the time with my build but I know right at the top once you start facing good players gl with that statement you will get farmed.

I also have more condition remove and more damage and more sustain then running Sotf build so stop talking out your kitten .

Sotf is only good with Condition builds like 2/0/6/6/0 other then that why would you bother running it with anything else.

I would also like to point out you don’t have the damage to kill a CeleEle, the only thing you have up on me is like 3k HP. Have you gone and tried my build to think conditions are the problem then you haven’t. The problem vs CeleEle is there sustain is to high taking one down solo just can’t be done with out conditions as well and vs a good S/D your going to die allot faster then I will.

Conditions aren’t the problem vs a good S/D its the evade spam each time you try and land a spike they will evade spam until its over then reclose the gap blind and apply damage sure you can dodge and remove blind/poison but thats the least of your problems. It’s the insane upkeep on evade spams.

@jcbroe.4329, Yeah when comes to GS and replacing it with “what” our sword is very buggy and we have nothing we can really combo it with. You can run sword/horn combo to support team mates but you require a good team.

I would like to see few minor reworks to LB, Barrage needs to work while moving and Hunter’s Shot needs an Evade on the skill.

No question about Travelers Runes, I’ve never been fan of them being mobile helps but at what cost. I’ve been running some test Pack vs Travelers, my rapid fire gets around 1k – 2k depending on crits more damage sometimes higher then Travelers the Auto is around 50-100 extra damage. So in question is the mobility worth the damage trade off this is with 6/2/6 build.

@Battosai.5620, are you sure about that, I remember back in the day taking that trait and doing 8k critical’s with my cat.

Traits (6/2/6/0/0)

  • Pet’s Prowess is a must take, you need it to punch out that extra burst damage on your RaO combo’s. You can’t count on Rapid Fire being your only real big burst skills. Your bird’s F2 is a massive part of the burst build don’t kid yourself traits like Primal Reflexes isn’t going to break your target or save you. Most of your defense comes from your ability to force your target into a panic and blow CD’s and play defensive.

Pet f2 abilities are not affected by pet’s prowess unfortunately.

sorry, but from where do you have this info? Is this a recent ninja change? or was it an old mistake?

For as long as i can remember, the added crit damage has always boosted every attack.

Yeah it’s meant to work on all Pet’s skills F2 as well, sure I’ve not used trait fair while due to not playing BM builds.

But I can confirm the trait isn’t working at all with any pet skill. If it is then the damage boost is so small it makes the trait worthless.

Traits (6/2/6/0/0)

  • Pet’s Prowess is a must take, you need it to punch out that extra burst damage on your RaO combo’s. You can’t count on Rapid Fire being your only real big burst skills. Your bird’s F2 is a massive part of the burst build don’t kid yourself traits like Primal Reflexes isn’t going to break your target or save you. Most of your defense comes from your ability to force your target into a panic and blow CD’s and play defensive.

Pet f2 abilities are not affected by pet’s prowess unfortunately.

Is it bugged cause it’s meant to be on every single pet’s Critical Hit……….

@jcbroe.4329, Is Read the Wind necessary? Yes without it LB is just to slow for a Power Build to be viable.

The only build I could get LB to work without RTW was Hybrid Trap build, but you still run into same problems CeleEle, there really isn’t a single Ranger Build that can deal the damage require to take a good one down.

Different version of Power Ranger which I don’t mind is 6/4/0/4, Quick Draw and Evasive Purity helps allot vs S/D Thieves, but once again same problem soon as CeleEle comes into the mix you die rather fast. We require such large investments into Condition Remove to keep burning and doom sigil under control.

@Eurantien.4632, biggest problem for is 240ms every game Aussie Internet (Fiber Internet Soon which is 1000x faster then my current).

My delay is big reason I can’t get Moment of Clarity to work, also something that does kitten me off I’ve gotten extremely good at using my LB #4 KB on Engineer’s Healing Turret but the problem is they can still use there Turret to heal for same amount doesn’t even interrupt any of there actions they can be flying in the air and still be able to use that darn turret. Half the reason I only use Healing Spring with Power Ranger due to simple fact I don’t want to be interrupted.

Our pet’s are bad still, allot better then they used to be but simple the fact they take forever to cast there F2 is driving me nut’s, it’s painful when you see incoming attack cast F2 and pet uses the darn skill way to late and you miss your play, so freaking stupid.

I don’t think ranger is in to bad of place but we do have allot of useless Trait’s and Utilities which I still don’t understand why they haven’t been address, Traits like Nature’s Voice would have to be the most useless Trait I’ve ever seen, almost all meta builds have great access to regen and swiftness and simple 1-2 bleed ticks counter regen. So whats the bloody point….

I wish they would move Zephyr’s Speed to a different trait line, like Skirmishing and replace it with Strider’s Defense, only viable builds I see using that skill is a old school Melee Clerics build 0/0/2/6/6, but even then you do so low damage in this meta it’s rather weak.

Yeah, thing I found about Power Ranger there really isn’t much of a point going full burst, the 6/2/6 build isn’t far behind in terms of damage and offers crap load more survival. So at least in them 2v2 which happen allot your going to survive and be able to deal the damage still.

Even in 1v1 your going to do allot better, lately I’ve been beating the Meta Cele Engi/War in 1v1 with my build. Kite them around until there low, the damage/chill from bird is what made the tables turn in my favor.

If anything I wouldn’t mind dropping EB for Bark Skin some games, S/D thieves are such a pain to fight with a LB and your GS won’t do jack to them due to blinds and evades. Good one never gets hit by counterattack.

@infantrydiv.1620 I’ve been trying to think of better trait to replace Vigorous Renewal but there just isn’t really many options. You could take faster recharge on Survival Skills or Recharge on Greatsword but I found myself not using them a great deal. There really isn’t many other options you could take.

I’m going to run some more tests using Entangle over RoA traited vs S/D Thieve’s it just might help not sure yet.

Hi again, recently I had a topic running which ended up filling with loads of great info regrading to Power Ranger so I’ve been refining my build using the info gathered and put it to action in Team Que’s. There was still few problems vs some builds both CeleEle and S/D thieves every build has counters some stronger then others.

Replaces RaO with Entangle and Vigorour Renewal with Wilderness Knowledge trait. Use v.2 if the other team is heavy with Necro’s and Engineer’s.

Roll

  • High Pressure, Team Support, Skirmisher.
    Don’t try and De-cap or cap points you lack mobility and sustain. Try to stay paired and focus fire.

Healing Skill (Healing Spring)

  • Many will disagree with Healing Spring, but we are playing team game. Healing Spring offers team support with condition remove and 10 second water field, almost every single class has a decent amount of blast finishers.
  • Doesn’t matter what heal you run as a Burst Build if your going down your going down no heal is going to save you.
  • Healing Spring is very effective in 2v2 and when your team mate goes down in a Team Fight you drop Healing Spring on there body for effective condition remove and healing while resurrecting.

Utilities (Lightning Reflexes – Signet of Stone – Signet of Renewal)

  • With every Burst Ranger build LR and Stone are your survival trump card, escape + invulnerability. I don’t need to explain these 2.
  • Signet of Renewal, it’s just to good not to take. 48 second CD with full condition wipe for your team mates and the extra stun breaker. Extremely effective in 2v2 and resurrecting team mates. Supports team mates escaping or being condition bombed.

Elite (Rampage As One)

  • Now I’ve been jumping between Entangle and Rampage As One, but Entangle just isn’t very effect vs the amount of condition remove in this current meta.
  • RaO is a great tool for stomps and the damage combos, E.g. Pet Swap (Bird) RaO > Rapid Fire > F2, that combo will give your pet 14 stacks of might on its F2 + 20 stacks of invulnerability if not cleared. Not only that your pet gains Stability/Swiftness/Fury helping with faster and higher chance of Critical hit’s from there F2. Also if you RaO then Barrage into a team fight + rapid fire your pet will hit 25 might in seconds giving really high burst.

Pet’s (Wolf – Owl)

  • Currently Owl is very strong and I think many are aware of why.
  • I don’t need to explain why you should take Wolf.
  • Always have your pet’s set to Avoid Combat, only use your pet when needed. it’s far more effective then letting them free roam.

Sigil (Air/Fire – Energy/Leeching)

  • Air/Fire combo on your Longbow is the best option hands down, the damage output is much higher, your roll as Power Ranger is burst down your target as fast as you can.
  • Energy/Leeching combo, I have opted out to use my GS as a offensive weapon and started to use it more as escape tool with counter burst. Leeching > Healing Spring > Swoop, is a great heal combo and escape combo.

Runes (Pack)

  • Pack Runes, without question is the best runes you could take as a Power Ranger, it offers team buff’s and combo’s well with RaO. Has some of the highest damage output you can get for a Ranger. Critical Chance is a must for Rangers, Pack runes gives you the extra Critical Chance and Fury upkeep.

Amulet (Berserker)

  • Do I need to say anymore.

Traits (6/2/6/0/0)

  • Now I’ve refined this build to have the best synergy with Utilities/Weapons/Pets/Healing. You should never have wasted traits, traits you shouldn’t take (Steady Focus) the second you don’t take Signet Mastery you have kitten your Signets. Steady Focus requires full endurance which is a rare thing.
  • Empathic Bond is your only real way to counter Burning/Poison/Bleeds. Many classes can not reapply stacks of all 3 conditions every 10 seconds.
  • Eagle Eye your aim is to have that unbeatable ranged burst, taking anything else hinders your ability to apply ranged damage. You want to force targets to push deep opening up counter play for your team to get a kill. If targets are escaping 1500 range is going to help allot.

Combos

  • Burst Finisher- RaO >Rapid Fire > Owl F2 > Barrage > Point Blank Shot.
  • Escape – Counterattack > Wolf F2 > Healing Spring > Swoop.

This meta is decent because it keeps anti-fun braindead evade/invuln frame spam classes like Mesmer and Ranger out of the picture.

What are you going to take away from engi and ele? Cleave damage? You can’t simply take that away evade classes like Mesmer or Ranger are going to be the next cancer.

If you’re saying nerf Celestial, I agree that the tankiness needs to be shaved.

If you’re saying take away their stun breaks, I kinda agree for Ele but Engi stun breaks are already bad.

The meta right now is very close to balance in all honesty ever since Jsharp has left. Now we just need to shave certain things. And maybe better boon stripping options for sigils.

Please show me these “evade” your talking about as I recall Anet nerfed out evades into the ground.

@infantrydiv.1620, Nice build I take it you mainly run that build with Carrion. Just an idea wouldn’t it be worth taking Sigil of Ice over Hydromancy seen as your not might stacking, I would find myself in weapon sets longer then 10 second rotations. Would really help with keeping your target at range.

Other then that it’s a solid design, not fan running Signet of Stone without Signet Mastery but I can see it working with this build.

@Prysin.8542, I like your build it’s a solid all round build for Team Que. Not a fan of Heal as One but each to there own, Trolls still way out heals it so does Healing Spring other then that your Sigil’s on the LB is different not sure I could give up Air/Fire combo just to much damage.

@mistsim.2748, I’m not a fan of Survival of the Fittest, it’s very limited amount of condition remove unless you combo it with Healing Spring and Renewal and at-least Sigil of Purity or Generosity. You have no way to counter Burning which War/Engi/Ele will all apply none stop or condition spikes.

Your damage is also weak you require using LR, QZ or Entangle to get your Crit chance up in order to land them Crit’s. Also Rangers scale much better with Crit Damage, E.g. you could take 1600 Power and have 200% Crit Damage and do just as much damage as having 2200 Power.

Steady Focus is good in PvE it’s not worth taking in PvP, you are using Signet of Stone with 80 second CD that’s a complete waste of time. Take Signet Mastery if your going to use Signet of Stone.

@Shanks.2907, Your build is very high burst that’s for sure. QZ + Wild + RoA into Rapid fire would almost kill any target. All I can say is if anyone looks at you your dead, price of running full dps build.

@Tragic Positive.9356, your wrong about not taking Sigil of Intelligence, it’s almost a must. E.g. your in a fight and your target closes the gap, swap to GS 3 hit combo all critical is worth more then having chance % landing them 3 skills which could turn the battle in your favor. Vs some classes your defense comes from your offense.

Piercing Arrows, I would only take this skill if I was running Spirit Ranger with SB, never take it over Eagle Eye, the damage and range is a must for LB rangers. It’s handy sure in team fight’s but Barrage is your AoE. Power Rangers are a high pressure build which is more effective at single target then AoE.

I highly recommend Pack Runes if your a Power Ranger. If your Cele/Might stacking build I recommend Water runes unless your using LB. Survival of the Fittest should always be ran with extra condition remove at the very least take Signet of Renewal.

Solid spvp build

Hi, nice build it’s different that’s for sure. Few things I would change, you don’t need Natural Healing I’m not sure what would work best with your build maybe Invigorating Bond I don’t believe Zephyr’s Speed is any good unless your planning to spike right after pet swaps but from what I can tell you might stack your pet then spike, reason I say Natural Healing isn’t needed your pet should be fine from Wild+Regen.

It’s a shame your can’t use Signet of Nenewal, you need tad bit more condition remove to counter them burns from War/Engi/Ele you don’t have any real way to counter it and 1 burn would counter your Regen/Wild combo. A skilled player at higher tier can almost keep perma burning up, you can also do this with ranger.

Also you don’t need Hoelbrak rune’s, the -20% duration to condition’s will rarely stop anything good unless there 100% on the second -20% is almost nothing. If we had traits like the Warriors – % condition duration’s. Also if your doing it to get damage out of your GS your wasting your time you need at-least 2k Power or heaps more Critical Damage to make it worth taking. I would personally look into taking Healing Power runes “Water”. That will give you 50% duration to all your boons, it will buff your self heal and add some extra condition remove.

Also when you get a chance take the Owl to a Golem and press the F2 and check out it’s duration.

One last note no stun-breaker might get you killed.

Ranger is in a difficult position when it comes to Team Que, I don’t believe dev’s think we need help maybe they are right. To me it’s Ele’s that are making our life hard in Team Que for Ranger. All the other current meta builds Ranger has a build that can beat them or is able to deal with them with team mates. Sure we have some hard counters but same goes for everyone else.

Reason I’m using 6/4/0/4 as my current burst build is for one simple reason. Evasive Purity, fighting a thief half the time your going to find yourself blinded and unless you run weaker version of Power Ranger you don’t have an effective on demand blind remove. Healing Spring/LR/Renewal/Evasive Purity, is loads of condition remove for burst build.

Also say you ran full burst build with Steady Focus 6/6/0/2, your not going to do much more damage then other versions players are running. Steady Focus is rather useless rarely will you have full endurance and not having Signet Mastery hits your survival to much, only real bonuses is having extra crit damage and 10% from flanking, but each to there own.

I never see ranger’s running Healing Spring + Sword/Horn combo with Power Builds, I can understand GS is great escape tool but that’s about it, good players have started catching onto not attack while your blocking. At least with horn offhand I can drop Healing Spring when team mate is getting low and we can blast finish to bring him back up while it removes conditions and good chance they have 1-2 blasts on demand. Why run trolls unless your going to solo allot and have EB + Renewal there is no point to taking anything different, your a burst build so if your getting trained Trolls won’t save you no heal will, same goes for everyone else when your getting trained its peels and team mates support that saves you. I’ve even started going as far as running Fern Hound as it’s F2 combo’s with Healing Spring really well. Currently there just so much Condition remove that my Spiders are becoming useless.

But once again everything falls back to what your team is running.

Yeah I missed them as I don’t really play them, they aren’t bad builds just not a fan of survival of the fittest and only go full zerker on courtyard map. Builds I listed I use daily in team que I try do use different build each que it’s painful changing builds in the brief time while count down happens.

Given the shaving method, we will get a 1 month player vs dev talk on preliminary skill changes, then wait 2-3 more months for these changes to happen. Since neither has been announced, expect at least 3 months from now (once they announce it within this 3 month time period, expect 2-3 more months added on top).

Going by your info that means June, they won’t release a patch so close to WTS.

Won’t be many teams left or players for that matter.

@jcbroe.4329 Hey mate, yeah I’ve been testing so many different rune sets weapon sets trying to find a nice balance its really hard, EB is here to stay I’ve tried to find ways around it without damaging the builds backbone.

Idea I’m going to run for while is, replace Empathic Bond with Poison Master Air/Fire with Generosity/Purity and Hoelbrak Runes LR with Renewal Signet. With Drake/Drake combo Poison/Lightning.

That give’s me 3 conditions removed every 10 seconds 20% reduction to conditions and Healing Spring’s pulses which is highly effective. Downside is you lose fair chunk of damage from Air/Fire combo as it procs on traps as well which is very handy.

@Sagramor.7395 I’m currently testing out 2x Drake’s seen as I want to avoid them 1v1 and stick to 2v2 and Team fights I can get away with using the Drakes. I always use Spider/Wolf when I run LB glass build best option fear for self peels and spider for spike combo’s.

just replace doom sigil for some teamfight viable version, you will not beat decent eles with this regaldless how many sources of poison you have.
Just focus on what it is good at: support / skirmish/ teamfight – ignore 1v1, these weapons wont let you allow a victory there often unless the dude stands on node facetanking.

The only 2 builds your going to have problem with in 1v1 is Shout Warrior and D/D Cele Ele.

Yes this build isn’t meant for 1v1, does well in 2v2 and up does really well. Hydro/Leeching combo on sword/horn was working really well when I needed to escape.

The build can be tricky, Fear Chain necro’s are bit of pain if you waste your LR on the wrong fear going to cost you badly, but most of the time you burn there Rune’s fear at range before they apply conditions and fear wall isn’t hard to see coming.

Something that I’ve started to notice but my pet’s are getting wrecked, I think that has allot to do with Ele’s and Engineers having so much AoE so while your in 2v2 your pet’s taking just as much damage as you while pulling your conditions. I’ve been training 1v1 vs d/d ele to see how well I can field build lasts fairly long time but my pets tends to die before I can swap and I’ve never really had that problem before I micro my pet allot but you have no control over its placement so allot of time its stupid and gets itself killed.

@Chaith.8256, see when they nerf ele and engi which they will, you should know Warrior is going to become a problem well the Shout Warrior that is. It’s going to be new OP build.

Perma Swiftness/Regen/Vigor, no class should have this. Sorry but Speed Kit’s fell under the perma swiftness. If you want perma swiftness should be forced into taking Skills over Trait’s. Passive vs Active always been big topic.

Sigils need a change atm only sigils you ever see used are, Geo/Doom/Air/Fire/Battle/Int. Rarely see any of the other sigils being used.

I’ve been having problems finding the best rune/sigil setup. If I don’t take heaps of poison I can’t beat a Ele.

@Simon.3794, you made me lol, I honestly don’t think you even understand how to use your shouts correctly. Suppose having counter play to skills with no counter play effects your mindless spamming. Learn to combo if they added 3/4 cast to fear me you could easy combo that off other skills. God I hate people simple minded as you. You do understand only thing keeping warrior from being the best class is Engi and Ele atm.

@insanemaniac.2456, I figured I would get more hate for that change, there is big reason behind it. Engineers would have to be one of if not most mobile class in Team PvP. Most classes require being in combat or only get 50% duration upkeep on swiftness. Now this change opens up other classes to filling rolls on teams E.g. Engineers if your home point and roamer having perma swiftness and combo’ed with rifle + elixir gun gap closer’s just gives the class unreal mobile abilities. Now rather then trying to shave everything, why not bring there swiftness more in line with every other single class.

Things I like about this build, the combo chains there are so many different ways you can combo. My best combo so far is, Spike + Flame Trap + Point Blank Shot + Fear (F2) + Rapid Fire + Hunters Shot + Entangle + Barrage back into Spike + Flame Trap. A very long combo that is rather easy to pull off.

Healing combo is something I enjoy, Healing Spring (5359) + Call of the Wild (1400) + Leeching (900) + Monarch’s Leap (1400) +Regenerate (F2 – 1000 + 1300 Regen) + Regen from healing spring that’s total of 10059 not including regen. Now if your in 2v2 your healing spring and your team mate, could blast finish into your spring giving even more heals.

The Escape combo is allot of fun, LR + Hornet Sting + Monarch’s Leap + Swiftness into weapon swap + Point Blank Shot or Hunter’s Shot depending if your in range. Then you just lay some Traps if that doesn’t work you can always Fear or Entangle. Being so mobile is helping heaps. Warhorn + Leaps allows me to rotate between points as fast as anyone else.

Your team support is really solid as well, Healing Springs 10 second water field is highly overlooked. With blast finishers from team mates you can team heal effectively. Team swiftness and fury.

You aren’t limited to being only useful in Team Fights and require team mates you peel/heal/condition remove.

You combo very effectively in 2v2.

There is more to build but thats general break down. I wanted to share this build to help push Rangers back into the meta. I’ve spent ages trying to find builds that work, Currently Burst/Condition/Bunker builds all fall short in there rolls, other classes just out shine us or we lack stupid things like swiftness or condition remove.

why did you put nerfs for warrior who dont need nerfs?

Rather simple, Ele and Engineer are keeping Warrior in check atm. If you nerf Engi and Ele all of sudden Warrior goes back to being King of the Backpoint and Roaming. Sorry but I would rather see more then one class being good at a roll.

Also how is adding counter play to Fear Me not good, currently random dodge and random effects are only options you have to counter play it. Doesn’t that seem mindless and stupid to you.

Hi, many are aware and already know what needs to be changed in terms of balance. Currently the meta is ruled by few classes while others have a hard time. My list of changes is directed at them classes. Also some changes to Sigils.

Engineer

  • IP – Options one make it 20 seconds CD Option two change to Master tier in Firearms.
  • Speedy Kits – Reduced to 5 seconds or only works in combat (like every other class).

Elementalist

  • Arcane Fury – increase CD to 10 seconds.
  • Renewing Stamina – increase CD to 15 seconds.
  • Soothing Wave – increase CD 15 seconds.

Warrior

  • For Great Justice! – 3/4 cast time.
  • Fear Me – 3/4 cast time.
  • Pin Down – Bleeds stacks reduced to 5 and duration to 8 seconds.

Sigils

  • Doom – Duration reduced to 5 seconds.
  • Battle – Duration reduced to 10 seconds.
  • Intelligence – Reduced to next ONE attack.

Now I know these change’s won’t bring everything back into the meta but it sure is going to help. They might not seem like big changes or game changing but deal with it. Some of us players would like to start using our class to fill the roll which these 3 classes are destroying.

IP is broken, I would love to see Engineer’s run without it…… GL with that seen as it does 50% of your damage some times more.

Ele’s well there heal/condition remove is just stupid, why give them insane amounts aren’t they meant to be jack of all trade’s not the best…… GJ Anet make a class they wrecked the game early OP again……
