Arent there still some GM traits that are unreleased? Is all hope really gone?
Thanks a lot Cogbyrn.
While its regrettable, I dont think it will be impossible to down people after the change. Life blast is ridiculous strong and to see it get a nerf is warranted.
These are cool ideas. +1 for creativity.
I thought it was cool to gain rank faster for a bit. I clearly remember the amount of time it took me to get from 39 to 40, and then poof I’m 41.
This is, in my opinion, the worst way to compensate for the lost glory. For the people who didnt farm skyhammer. When I get rolled by someone 10+ ranks above me and see that they have a different title, I feel a little respect for the energy they put into getting it. I know some people are reaching rank 70+, and thats awesome.
TLDR, I dont want ranks to lose any value. I dont want to rank up faster because glory is gone.
How about a cursor we can see? With all the spell effects sometimes it can be hard to determine if you are pointing at the ground or at the sky.

If they take away mix and match runes they better not kitten this up.
Dhuumfire wouldnt be as faceroll but it will still be viable. To say its not before you have tested it in its future state is not only false but ludicrous.
I read through the link and I dont get it. Why are we getting hit harder? Some clarification would be appreciated.
Unyielding Blast makes Life blast piece (Trait VI in Soul Reaping.) So, Dhuumfire could potentially hit multiple targets with a single shot. I could see that being used. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens I guess.
Shouldn’t work that way since the proc has an icd
Wvw glamour mesmer is the same way with blinds+confusion. Ony time will tell.
Personally I dont think anything will change for the dhuumfire users. Not that hard to use a couple life blasts.
This is about the lack of accountability
I know it sucks but business changes. You can’t expect anything set in stone when there are real competitors out there.
useless pets hurt dps
This scene adequately describes my enthusiasm towards said idea.
If soul comprehension buffs lf gain by 50% then that would be pretty good for a minor imo. Extra toughness in ds is good. Man so many complainers.
what you have proven here is that you can doom the thief away without missing due to blind.
And I run a zerker staff ele with 30/30/0/10/0 and I survive pretty well in pvp
no you dont.
Transferred from BP to TC.
So nice to not have to run around for 30 min to find a kitten fight. Not a 1 min incursion, an actual battle.
Eh, at this point I find it hard to care what’s running Wild anymore. Who cares who’s the Star of a game with such a slow development pace? All I know is stiff competition is coming, and soon, so if I was Anet, I’d pick up the pace.
i see what you did there.
hey justin
one thing that will put some minds to ease would be to release to us the time it would take to unlock a single new trait (assuming all of them take the same amount of time). if its miniscule, then dont bother yourself with all of these complainers.
another pvp-only player complain thread.
next.
good. on kill sigils are getting nerfed. it was a lame mechanic to put in the first place.
Cant wait to see the other gm traits they have locked up.
Here I was thinking all the little princesses would be happy.
Wow I just read through the new traits they are introducing.
I must say I am impressed.
Thank you Anet. Thank you.
I think there’s only 2 problems with conditions:
- Some builds that can apply tons of them and continuosly.
- Stat combinations allows condi builds to have very high condition damage while also having high defensive stats. However, power builds have to sacrifice defensive stats to reach good numbers, as the rely on burst.
Apart from that, condi cleansing is fine. Maybe eles and mesmers need to have more reliable cleansing. That doesn’t mean they don’t have it, just they need to invest a lot of traits and skills to have decent amount of cleansing.
Your second point.
This argument makes no sense whatsoever. I have heard this said over and over and over. What makes you think its a good idea to take away the toughness increase? Seeing as a condi user has A LOT less potential burst. Why would anyone bother using condis if it was impossible to survive long enough to see them take effect?
anet cant fix all of your magnets. some time soon you gotta except potatoes and then proceed to boogie.
anything not conquest really.
I always grab staff mastery when I play condi-spec. Its too important to rule out for a mere 10 points.
No need to apologize Yami.
Youre right Ren, it would be too powerful. So meh, you know, put it in death magic tree master minor. MMs could use another stunbreak probably.
Death magic adept minor: +100 toughness when life force is below 50%.
Surprised incendiary powder isnt getting a nerf. That trait does 4200 damage for me in pvp.
wvw is pvp, just on a different scale
So the scale is what makes wvw not pvp?
lacks atmosphere. rofl.
Personally I would like to see the SR minors switched around more then a change to FiTG. Near to death master minor, last gasp (sarmor @ 50%) to adept minor, scrap gluttony.
You didn’t read my post beyond “we have an okay amount.” I went on to clarify that while our numbers are probably fine, their massive unreliability is not.
The numbers are not fine, the types of fields are not fine, the reliability is not fine.
If pvp went f2p then it would most likely attract the crowd that will not pay for the pve side.
Hah you think its bad here? Try wvw.
Fastest free way to level is to do Cathedral of Flame path 1 and switch from your level 80 to your lower level before the boss dies.
If you dont have a level 80 then you will have to join a guild that is fine with that. Probably gonna have to join a guild anyways to get a solid group for alt leveling.
Pretty sure focus is best for GC power necs.
Drarnor what planet are you on? We have close to no finishers. 1 on staff. Minions. Both of which are not used by a lot of people. I have zero finishers or combo fields in pvp.
If we are talking about strong auto attacks how about Necromancer Scepter or Thief Sword? Both of these are absolute monsters
My scepter does 1120 bleed damage in pvp and just about the same for poison on each 3rd attack.
For zerg fights, the necro has no mobility besides swiftness. Its not recommendable to go full zerk unless you have played the class for a very long time and are running with an organized group. I suggest 70-80% crit damage and 2500-2700 armor to start off with, and then switch out for zerk gear from there as you get more comfortable.
Necro axe has horrible dps in pvp. Can I has buff?
I dont see an OPness to this suggestion. Necro has almost zero finishers, this would help in that area. Other classes have really short or spammable blasts.
I still think a major improvement to several builds would be to move the grandmaster SR trait granting stability for 3 secs to the master level trait. It would still be restricted to DS, but more accessable to more types of builds. Necromancer is just too vulnerable to CC and is essentially. Ping pong ball in pvp or Wvw (roaming).
I also think the new version of dhuumfire should be a master level trait as well
I like this. In a previous post someone was saying that Near to Death should be a minor trait somewhere, and that is what your post reminded me of.
Tutorials, rewards, and scoreboards.
I’m just saying its there and if people dont wanna use it thats their problem.
Other classes have practically no stability.
I’m not saying more cleanses is the answer I’m saying that better cleanses are the answer. Something that works over time but doesnt remove entire stacks or 10sec+ of a condi.
I dont kittening know. Halfway through posting I thought I was full of kitten but I put it up anyways. I’m going to drop it because I dont care anymore.
The trouble about life stealing is that its innately overpowered: it’s a two-fer.
I get that, but unless you run MM it has little value.
The big picture is that there are few options for running “hybrid” builds. The reason hybrid is in quotes is because I think it is the closest thing to balance that a build can achieve. Currently there are very few incentives if none at all for someone to run a hybrid build. I don’t know if Anet had intended for each class to be type casted. I’ll take a stab in the dark and say that they didn’t, that the Control DPS Support mantra was meant to be an even spread. On some levels it was a success, on this particular mechanic it wasn’t. That’s all.
My WvW guild that has to occasionally reverse to save my kitten because I have no leap to keep pace can live with that.
As it stands, sustain is a bit less of an issue because Dhuumfire lets them straight-up beat most classes via burst. Post-nerf, I’m not sure how it’ll go.
I know exactly how you feel. I main necro in wvw and I can’t express how frustrating it is to die that way. Attrition through soft cc and siphons are supposed to be what the class is about.
A leap (or dhuumfire) can never be balanced for a 1v1 / wvw situation the way siphons can, i.e. siphons getting stronger the more enemies there are. Looking at the structure of a wvw guild and how it moves through combat, it is clear that there are frontliners and backliners. The flow of combat is based around which group of frontliners can outmaneuver one another to reach the squishy backline and take out their damage. Leaps, stability, and mass cleansing take away any disadvantage the backline has. So what then? As a backliner your only option is to blow through cooldowns until you get back into position.
That right there is the main reason that I want a buff to siphons. We have frontline tanks. I am convinced we need backline tanks. Necro is in a perfect position to be that, and siphons are the key. This would give the medium armor / glass cannon classes some leeway to fulfill their role.
Not a thing. Running any random build in a zerg is still the way to go.
