Why can’t a necro do this? I haven’t started yet but was wondering.
All classes CAN… It’s just a matter of certain fights being purely reliant on luck for some classes and have virtually zero skill involved in them…
That’s absolute 100% nonsense. Learn to play.
Why don’t you noobs try changing your builds?
So, please, do tell what build a ranger use to survive Salazan with skill rather than pure luck?
Why don’t you ask and find out instead of kittening? There’s been a post already about every class having beaten this boss.
It’s possible the same champs have diminishing returns, which would make sense.
Why don’t you noobs try changing your builds?
People whine on here about lack of communication, and when they get it, they snipe at it and take things way of context. It’s like trying to feed a bunch of screaming little babies that don’t want anything to eat, but claim to be hungry anyway. Ridiculous.
I’m going to preface this by saying I love this game, I play almost every day and I have thoroughly enjoyed the living story, new content and I’m very much looking forward to this patch as well.
With that said, has this champion thing been thought out well? Before I start making assumptions, could we get some more clarification on this? Most champions are ridiculously easy to kill and it’s really starting to get easy to get anything in this game at that point. I’d like some challenge, not turning this game into that “other MMO” where everything is handed to you on a silver platter.
I’d enjoy hearing some more details about this.
If you want someone to stop treating you like cattle, then stop acting like cattle.
Quoted for truth.
Quoted for double truth.
Who says the story is done being told yet?
Weapons skins are RNG in Black Lion Chests. Total crap, but not unexpected. It would be great if you could get good things from skill, instead of just having money and luck.
And the back skins are “rare” RNG from the event rewards? I’m just… speechless is the word.
Grind Wars 2, going strong.
Yeah, or you could go play another MMO and spend hours each evening trying to beat the RNG for items in raids. Clearly GW2 is the only MMO with RNG!
Every MMO ever made features RNG in their cash shops? That’s a blatant lie Stark.
No it’s not. If you didn’t experience RNG in cash shops, you experienced it in dungeons or raids, hoping for that one item for you to drop.
Other MMO’s have shops and the one big one is adding one now too.
Can we stop having the same stupid RNG debate every patch? It’s here to stay. Accept it or don’t. Having the tickets sellable is a huge step in the right direction. Plus it’s in a black lion chest, which dishes out a lot of other things as well.
RNG exists in EVERY MMO EVER MADE.
Seeing people on here get this involved with a story before its even out yet. I’ve played a lot of MMO’s and I think this is really cool and different, especially seeing the reaction.
Can we all just take a deep breath? What we got was a very general overview with little to no specific information.
Coming onto the forums and raging over nothing makes you look like a tool.
Please stop being a tool. Thank you.
Spoiled rotten brats these days. You people wouldn’t survive a day in the MMO’s of old, like Everquest.
The game is here for a month. How about you stop swallowing content so fast? Also I see nothing that prevents you from running it again. Whiner.
Mario Kart for GW2 – freaking love it.
The point is, they don’t need to stop work on ‘x’ in order to pay attention to ‘y’ necessarily. That’s the whole point of having teams.
Quote a point in my post where i say the opposite.
Then explain why Living Story is getting a 2 week schedule while other parts of the game barely get any update (compared to the Living Story pace of content flow)
That’s the point.
Give the rest of the game, which does need help, the same importance of Living Story if it’s true they have enough ppl to work on multiple things at same time.Because right now it seems that it isn’t wokring that way.
It’s been seen as the Live Teams doing everything… Dungeons, story, crafting. Anything not live story is out of the picture
Yeah, clearly out of the picture. People just seem to ignore the new PvP map or another WvW update.
I like people who state radical misconceptions and lay them out as facts.
Here is what I know for FACT:
Ehmry Bay is mid range when it comes to server population.
Everywhere I go, I see people. Everywhere.
Eternal battlegrounds is almost always full.
Our guild is growing. Every time someone stops playing, I find two more to the game that just started and recruit.
The witch hunt really needs to stop. A mistake was made, kitten happens, move on. Man you people beat things to death.
Does one still get the achievement for killing the Karka Queen?
On a side note, as an incentive to attack her, maybe add the weapon skins from that event as part of her loot table.
.. also kick you out of Obsidian Sanctum if you’re in it? Since it’s a separate instance now?
Glad to hear it was just a numbers problem.
Hey there dulfy, use your website all the time. Your hard work is appreciated.
I had one group guard north and two south. Which left one group to take the stalkers, but there were just too many.
Cuz /droooooooooool. :P
This is the fort/barrel defense. Anyone have any good tips? We tried this with 20 people and got absolutely rocked halfway through.
If you need any of the temples open, we’re going to attempt to clear out all of them, starting with Balthazar and working our way further in. If you want to join, guest to our server and be at the Fort Trinity waypoint at 5 p.m. PST (8 EST). We will start forming up around then.
Thanks all!
[HOME] will be leading a Temple of Balthazar clear (along with the rest of the temples) at 5 p.m. PST (8 EST). We still start forming up at the Fort Trinity waypoint in Straits of Devastation. Be there if you want in!
My god you people kitten and whine about everything. If I were a dev, I’d never post in these forums again.
Forcing you to spend money. Insane grind.
/epic facepalm.
I sure like collecting 100k candies through various, fun and interesting activities, and spending 500$ on boxes only to get nothing. So epic, am i right.
Clearly you didn’t read my post, so I’m not going to bother with you.

Its unfortunate that the most optimal way to farm holo’s is to wp around solo and grief the kitten out of other players instead of cooperating. It stands in stark contrast to rest of the game’s content, where having more players cooperate is usually more optimal.
Agreed panzer, but this is the second day. The crowds will thin out.
A point against your no 2
The holograms aren’t the same as they were with any of the other events, all the other events had drops for each player even if they didn’t tag the mobs before they died, they were also in higher level zones (winters and SAB that is) which meant there more places people could go (so people ended up spreading out).
Also you seem to forget that people aren’t just farming them for the achievement, they are after the boxes which means that people will actually want to stop others getting to the holos because the less other people get the higher profit they can potentially make from selling them.
Your 1 and 3 are spot on though.
Fair enough, I’ll admit to your first point. But the second point, they drop from every world mob in the game.
Right, I wasn’t quite sure where to put this. Sorry if I picked the wrong forum.
My ONLY complaint is I wish you could join Dragon Ball as a guild or setup private matches. Custom arenas anyone?
The complaints thus far are absolutely mind boggling.
1.) Moa racing shouldn’t be part of the meta achievement.
Congratulations, it’s not! You only have to do 10/14 achievements, of which you have AN ENTIRE MONTH to do.
2.) The holo dragons in the lower zones breed competition and contempt.
It was like this during Halloween, Christmas and SAB. Same plan. But considering all the impatient people want to finish this in a day, it’s become a major issue. Once again, YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE MONTH. Let the crowds thin out and you’ll see the nodes sitting around doing nothing, like they have in every other event beforehand.
3.) RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG
The biggest complaint I saw in Southsun was the fact that the crates off mobs didn’t drop enough. Now they drop off ANY WORLD MOB and now you have coffers being THROWN at you, in the hundreds and thousands, and you DON’T HAVE TO PAY A DIME. The RNG boxes have worked the same in EVERY OTHER HOLIDAY BEFOREHAND and if you’re a sucker enough to keep buying into them, then I have no hope for you as a human being. People are picking up hundreds IN A SINGLE DAY, and once again, THE EVENT LASTS FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. The weapon skins DO NOT AFFECT YOU, in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, so have some WILLPOWER and DON’T BUY THEM.
By god, ever since that “other MMO” started handing everything to everyone by just logging in, everyone thinks that’s how it should be now.

The event lasts for an entire month. Let the over eager crowds thin out.
The event lasts for an entire month. Let the impatient ones get done first and the crowds will thin out.
I was thinking about something – I’ve seen a lot of complaints about people who can’t join their friends in the more fun PvP games, like Crab Toss, Keg Brawl and Dragon Ball.
Is it possible to make custom arenas of these games? Could it be MADE possible? Would people have an interest? Frankly, I could see myself spending a lot of money keeping a custom arena open of say, Crab Toss open, so our guild can go in and have fun guild matches for prizes or something. Just remove the chest at the end.
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the replies, hoping that list helps people out.
I’m excited for this.
Clearly it’s not a priority – people are still getting precursors and are still getting legendaries. The game isn’t broken because of the current system. There are other things more important on the list.
Brown Noses and lying to yourself doesn’t get the Dev’s to give you things just saying. :P
Now if you truly enjoy the joke of “Endgame content” then hey kudos, a lot of us don’t (I realize some of you do.) However, I’m at mind to think that you may not actually know what endgame content is supposed to be, and that’s why you’re happy.. but hey if I’m wrong and you enjoy the half hearted attempts they give us, kudos.
The only end game content in ANY MMO has been endless raids hoping for RNG gear.
This game doesn’t have that, for which I’m thankful.
Go play one that does and quit kittening.
So you are saying that GW2 has no end game content? After all if your assertion that “The only end game content in ANY MMO has been endless raids hoping for RNG gear” is true, then “This game doesn’t have that” would indicate that GW2 has no end game content, for which you seem to be thankful?
The entire game is the end. I don’t know why you people are so jaded. I have a great time with my guild. I have my legendary. I don’t feel FORCED to come on every raid night for hours in hopes my RNG weapon drops. I’m relaxed and enjoy things. Maybe I want to WvW one night. Or PvP. Or chill and play mini games. Or do a daily chest run. Do a dungeon path I haven’t explored. Or even a random guild event like a costume brawl race. Spend two evenings doing guild missions. For you hardcore nuts, this game just isn’t for you.
The reason you are confused is in this sentance “I don’t feel FORCED to come on every raid night for hours in hopes my RNG weapon drops”
Guess what, I don’t either…I do those thing because, gasp, I ENJOY doing them. That’sd the problem with people like you, you assume everyone likes the same things and cannot get it through your heads we don’t.
“I’m relaxed and enjoy things. Maybe I want to WvW one night. Or PvP. Or chill and play mini games. Or do a daily chest run. Do a dungeon path I haven’t explored. Or even a random guild event like a costume brawl race. Spend two evenings doing guild missions.”
Now, take that list and ADD “mindless killing while I joke with my friends on vent” to the list and you might start to understand the issue. Serisouly, people like you kitten me the kitten off.
So you like to raid 50 hours a week, and you’re playing a game with no raiding and no intention of adding raiding, and you’re kittening about it. LOL, you’re a tool.
I loved the part where you put words in my mouth and then insulted me for them!
lol…and I’m the tool…
I’m putting words in your mouth? You stated you like to raid 50 hours a week. I stated the only “end game” in any MMO has been raiding gear grinds, to which you chase me as me admitting there’s no “end game”, something you’re clearly unhappy with. Please keep opening your mouth, this is amusing.
The devs have addressed the precursor issue countless times.
Yes, usually with non-responses.
No, they have said repeatedly that they’re going to implement a design to make them less a struggle to get. Learn to research.
Right, they’ve repeatedly said that, and then repeatedly done nothing to demonstrate any progress towards doing anything like that. Learn to not swallow kittenpoop.
Maybe because it takes time to implement without ruining the economy and putting enough effort into it so a legendary doesn’t take a day to achieve. Idiot.

Gaile, you are an absolute machine and Anet is lucky to have you. Love reading some of your responses to people.
