Hi! Given we know the release date of the expansion, I have a question about guild halls.

I’m trying to schedule a time for all of the guild to be on so we can do this event.

Can we go after our guild hall right away? Or is this going to be behind a time gate? I wanted to schedule something October 25th.

I guess I’m looking for requirements, both cost and time wise, if any of the latter.

…after having bought the game full price after hot was announced (the second time actually cause i didnt have the original account anymore)…right before the sale was announced – didnt profit
right before we knew hout would include the base game
now the game will go free
I have no problem with supporting the devs – but i kinda feel like an idiot for actually paying and supporting the dev – and i feel that a lot of full paying customers might feel a bit the same way – now even more than after the hot-full-game-gate
I understand that anet wants to attract new clients (even if they will be toxic locust) – they just should watch out not to loose the loyal ones they are having…

sure it would eventually go this way – but this kind of very quick succession feels like a cash grab – like something sleazy devs on steam would do…it doesnt feel good to me and with this of deflationary tendency, the only thing your telling your cliens is that they should hold of with buying your stuff cause soon, very soon, they will get much better deals anyway…

I filed a report on this as well, but thought I’d bring it up here too.

Our guild went for a T6 Dry Top the other night.

The shaman event in the oasis and the vine bridge event nearby spawn inconsistently. Sometimes they’ll spawn more, sometimes less – but it’s never as often as they should.

The “rustbucket” golem event also was spawning inconsistently.

These events threw off our rotations and we lost T6 by one event.

Just wanted you to be aware.

Some things I’ve been mingling over and I was hoping someone might have some answers.

1.) Could Mordremoth have made Trahearne’s Wyld Hunt himself, implanted it on purpose to lead and destroy Zhaitan, thus gaining more power upon his destruction? Which is why the Pact Fleet was so quickly annihilated?

2.) Where is the Nightmare Court in all this? Are they under the influence of Mordremoth? Could they end up being anti-heroes of sorts if not?

3.) Speaking of the Nightmare Court, where is Faolain?

4.) We’ve seen the Inquest in Dry Top and it’s likely we’ll see them again. Who is leading the Inquest now that Kudu was dead? Was Kudu even leading them to begin with?

5.) When Glint’s egg presumably hatches, what is the likelihood that Kralkatorikk will be the next elder dragon we face off with?

WoW expac is coming up, christmas shopping involves a lot of AAA games. Arena net would be either stupid or extremely arrogant to release an MMO expansion during the AAA season.

Lets get this straight NOBODY says we are getting no reveal next week stop thinking just because they haven’t said anything it means we are not getting a reveal unless you have tangible proof stop giving out misinformation.

They’re not going to do a reveal of an elite specialization, when you can only play the 4 ones that ARE revealed that beta weekend.

I think the end of August release date theory (3rd anniversary) is out the window at this point. No reveals next week due to beta weekend the following weekend. Which leaves a minimum still of 5 weeks of elite specialization reveals. (this is of course assuming the “financials report” of a much larger 3rd quarter for Anet). This, of course, is not including the “challenging content” reveal or anything else they want to talk about.

Still a long haul to go.

I’ve heard things like “Yeah, we’ve queued the map” from one server during a matchup.

So my question is this.

In terms of filling up a map, and let’s say for example the cap is 150..

Can one server load 150 people into it and it’s then queue’d?

Or does each server get 50 people from their side and then it starts to queue for that 50 amount?

I see a lot of complaining about coverage when it comes to WvW.

But I’ve never seen any decent solution posted by anyone. Sadly the only one is having it like EotM – red, green and blue. But that kinda takes away from server identity.

Turrets can easily be made useful again by:

1.) Allowing them to receive buffs/crit
2.) Speeding up the excessive cooldowns for when they are destroyed.

The two NPC’s, once you kill the 2nd boss, the Taskmaster, can be run over to the vehicle to blow the door, but they won’t do anything. They won’t trigger the event to go gather the glowing rock.

I submitted a bug report, but MAN THIS kitten kittenES ME OFF WHEN THESE GOD kitten DUNGEONS SHOULD BE WORKING FLAWLESSLY BY NOW.

Sounds like most of these complaints are PvE oriented. Necros are one of the most wanted classes in WvW due to wells, and they still seem rather strong in PvP.

The fix to PvP matchups is very simple.

Hm, that’s interesting. Must have missed that. Still, I wonder if matches will get affected by the fact.. say you have 2 or 3 of one class on a team due to the profession daily. If your other team has classes strong against those, you’ll win easy – if your team is weak against that class, you’ll get rolled.

Remove the daily “insert class here” requirements. Change it to “win a pvp match”.

Having matches where everyone is flooding them with the class daily makes them imbalanced. Not everyone is good on every class and given the fact that the matchup is based on MMR rating and not what class you are playing, this is going to get thrown every time.

Also, add dishonor back in for people leaving and the fix becomes two-fold.

There, matchups fixed.

On a side note, I’m tired of the complaints regarding imbalance. Some classes need some adjusting, yes. But I’ve been wrecked by every class and I’ve wrecked every class. L2P.

So, nothing has changed.

If you are going to put me against a premade, can you at least give me a freaking functioning team compostition?

Are you ever going to get matchmaking right?

Matchmaking is heavily affected by class dailies. Every time there is a “daily ranger win” or whatever, you see far more of those classes.

Remove the daily class winner and the problem fixes itself.

At first I hated it. Felt way too fast.

Now that I’ve sunk into it a bit, I’m actually enjoying the new fast pace. I’ve been having a lot of fun. I think some adjustments still need to be made to some traits and some bugs fixed, which I’m sure they will, but..

.. I have to admit, it’s actually kinda cool.

If you found out the expansion just contained “Verdant Brink” as the only PvE map being released with the expansion, what would your reaction be?

I’d continue to consider the new open world maps the least important thing about HoT. It doesn’t matter if there were five maps – GW2 PvE maps are trivial-mode content for the most part and anyone with passable reflexes will have cleared the majority of the not grind-gated content there in a week or two. What’ll keep me logging in for a while is the possibilities of new builds, the WvW/PvP maps and walking a Revenant through all the old content.

They give me new things to do pretty regularly (living world). They give me new ways to do it almost never (half-cooked balance passes every 6 months if we’re lucky)and new ways to do stuff is what HoT is offering me.

After three years of the same maps, you’re excited to run through them again on a new class.

I think I’m done here.

Here’s what the expansion is so far that we know:
1 PvP map.
New WvW maps that you’ll be playing on for months if not years.
1 PvE zone that we know of.
Guild Halls.
Some crafting.
QoL updates.
Mastery system.

I’ll be done with the expansion, as it stands, in two months max.
