Why is there no list of phantasm builds?
Idea is that with these weapon sets you have 2 blocks, Illusionary Riposte and
Illusionary Counter.
Trait distribution would be 4-4-0-0-6 with celestial stats.
Your ideas?
Renewing Stamina will give 5s of vigor upon a critical hit: more dodge rolls.
Windborne Dagger will give +25% movement speed while in combat: move faster round your enemies.
What do you use and why?

/flirt (should be very cute with Asura)

I would love to see more emotes in the game.
There seem to be some emotes that technically exist but have no animation.
I hope we see them next year.
Thank you very much. :-)
@Halcyon:
Tanks for the info.
Do you know which 18 slot leather bags allow sorting?
With one of my characters, I have the problem that sorting stuff in bags does not work for her.
I press compact but nothing happens.
What could be the problem?
She does not have fractal boxes.
Isn’t longbow too slow?
Which amulet you suggest?
Is it possible to make a successful hybrid build for tPvP?
I currently play this but I find that I almost never use the shortbow because of the positioning requirement for the bleed.
And when I depend on a sigil for bleed on crit I can stay with the axe which gives me might.
Sword/dagger & axe/? would be an option, but sword does no condition damage with auto-attack, therefore I look for a hybrid build.
I want new female Asura faces, but better ones than the last.
I want faces that you can give an individual touch, were you really see a difference when you move the sliders.
Will we ever see it?
I think for a hybrid build pistol/shield is better?
Grenades for the range?
Which classes (other than elementalist) can grant themselves 25 stacks of might permanent?
Any Chance we get it back, perhaps in an enhanced version with bigger boards?
I think Asura should have golem chess, it simply belongs to their culture.
Multi boxing is playing more than one account at a time. If you have 5 accounts for example you could have a full party of 5 running together playing the game.
Thank you very much for the explanation.[/quote]
As to your idea, it sounds iffy. If there are times when both skills, F1 and attack 1, go off from using that key press and if ANet is able to "see" such things then your account could be terminated.
But the general idea - clicking/holding a button results in different actions - is allowed?
Thank you for the link.
I’m not sure what exactly multi boxing is.
My idea would be that when I click a certain mouse button it activates F1 but when I hold it longer than X seconds it activates attack 1.
I have a Logitech G600 gaming mouse.
Is I would use the mouse software to make a button behave different depending on me holding the button or just clicking it - would this be a violation of the macro policy?
Thank you all for explanations and advice.
Is there any reason why 1st lightning flash - 2nd burning speed should be inferior?
I tested both and this combo seems easier than the other one.
Since I try to learn the class mainly for PvP I already think in advance what to do against archers, rangers or longbow warriors.
What is the best combo to get to them fast, forcing them into melee?
How can I travel the furthest distance in the shortest time?
I try to learn d/d ele for pvp.
On Metabattle I have read about a burning speed/lightning flash combo: they say one should use lightning flash “mid-animation on top of one’s opponent”.
Must be because English is not my native language, but I don’t quite understand what they mean.
Should I start with burning speed and activate lightning flash then or other way round?
I just got the same error message 3 times in a row.
My character is standing in Lion’s Arch and I was trying to enter a pvp map.
Is it possible somehow to get camera control on another mouse button than button 2?
What’s your keyboard setup for PvP?
Which weapon set is better for might stacking?
What’s the optimal skill rotation for might stacking?
Once in a while I get a game crash with this error message:

Why does that happen and how do I prevent it?
...without holding down the right mouse button, is that possible someway?
I like to try and play GW2 with a gamepad and therefore I downloaded XPadder and configured my system and it worked well.
But then I thought that a different configuration would be better, so I when I next time started the game again I begun to configure a new setting with XPadder.
But now nothing works anymore, no button reacts on anything.
What can be wrong?
Which classes have gap closers that can bring them to an enemy that stands above them?
I think Mesmer can do that with Illusionary Leap/Swap and thief with Infiltrator’s Arrow.
This is exactly what I searched for, please make sticky.
26) Must-Watch Videos is still blank, could you please add some links to shatter guide videos there?
Thanks you. :-)
Does anyone here know a video about the bunker breaker shatter?
A friend of mine claims this shatter combo can take down a bunker guard, but he’s new to Mesmer and does not know how to perform it.
I seek video tutorials of the important shatter combos for all weapon sets, especially for tPvP.
Has someone links for me?
(UPDATE 10/1/14) Added links to the builds, for those curious about the condition lockdown variant I ran here it is:
- Scepter + Pistol (or Torch) / Staff
- Rabid Amulet – Runes of Grenth (or Undead) – Sigils of Doom(2x)/Energy(Scepter)/Hydromancy(Staff)
- Decoy – Disenchanter (or Null Field) – Mantra of Distraction
This is a rather aggressive condition build that relies on torment and staff clones for damage. It can apply every condition in the game except for fear and interrupts are meant to add cover conditions in addition to their normal function. While it may seem counterproductive to rely on torment and keep a target immobilized, the immob/chill/movement reduction makes it easier for staff clones to melt enemies. In teamfights you provide AoE Chill in addition to clone deaths and set Disenchanter on boon-reliant targets. Being specced into Illusions allows you to use Diversion much more often than most shatter builds.
What about travveler runes instead Grenth runes?
Otherwise travelling from one Point to another might take so Long that a fight there is actually over before I arrive.
How exactly does the condition interrupt build look like and which wepons are used for it?
i think shater condi mesmer got one big problem – his condi burst (like shater F2 + 3 with scepter + fire nova from baltazar runes) can be easy dodged,
Do F2 + F3 shatters work different from F1 shatters?
I always thought that one of the advances of a condition shatter build would be that with the right trait you can apply confusion with any of the Fs while in a traditional shatter build you have to wait for F1 coming off cooldown.
@Diva: Great Video. :-)
Which is the first song in your video?
I like it very much and would like to download it.
Located between the real world and the mists there is the otherworld, a place where mighty beasts roam.
Each week a different giant appears, in connection with the star signs.
Of course, in the real world star signs do not change every week but in this place time works different.
Upon entering the portal you should join a commander squad, 1 squad can have up to 200 players thus making a raid.
The raid then fights the giant and if successful, grants bones to players in the fractals of the mists (like +5 more agony resistance).
The bonus is active as long as the giant is defended at least once a day.
Fights should be more strategic than fighting simple champions in the open world.
One drawback of GW2 not being a holy trinity game is that players have less dependency on each other.
There is no need for example for guardian and elementalists to work together in a certain way in order to protect the elementalists and making it possible for them to mass-heal.
But perhaps a strategic element could be brought into the fights by some other means.
Players should have a chance the get mists essences for rewards, as well as fractal relics.
Engineer-only class which I really dont know apart from they have a very good cond-to-boons converter skill.
Engineer can set healing turret and overload it, this will remove 2 conditions.
thief-basic trait that possibly give the best condi removal in game?(shadow embrace)
Removing 1 condition every 3 seconds while in stealth? Don’t get me wrong, the trait is quite decent, but calling it the best condie removal in the game is just extraordinarily false. 1 removal every 3 seconds will remove conditions steadily if they are applied steadily, and will fail tremendously if they’re applied as burst, which is how you kill thieves. Additionally, it’s in the shadow arts traitline, which forces the thief to sacrifice offense. Other than that trait, thief has incredibly limited access to condition removal.
Thief has IV Shadow’s Embrace which will instantly remove 1 condition upon entering stealth (which as a thief you do quite often, via cloak and dagger or black powder followed by a heartseeker).
Thief can also use sword and dagger, than 2nd attack is Infiltrator’s Strike - Infiltrator’s Return which will remove 1 condition.
As heals we have Hide in Shadows which cures burning, poison and bleeding (or other conditions if used under Shadows Embrace and Withdraw which will cure immobilized, chilled and crippled.
As utilities we have Shadowstep which cures 3 conditions.
Lack of condition removal together with dependency on certain runes for +25% movement speed (or focus as off-hand) is what keeps me from playing a Mesmer.
I often thought that this is a great class and tried to create a build that would satisfy me, but I just cannot find a shatter build with condition removal.
Shattered Conditions would be perfect for a shatter Mesmer, but you sacrifice too much damage to get it.
Would be great if A-Net would make Cleansing Conflagration work like Shadows Embrace.
Most of the new faces are overly cutesy (and for the males, overly feminine) IMO.
That with the male faces is true.
No idea why A-Net did create such faces for male Asura.
There should be a map where you have an option to play 1 vs 1 against a class of your choice or a random class.
For instance you are an engineer and want to fight 1vs 1 against a warrior, than you select warrior from the list and get paired with a warrior who is interested to test himself against an engineer.
Or you want to do 1vs 1 pvp but don’t care about the other class, than you choose class: random.
What do you think about them, do you like them?
I think most of them are ugly and I wished they came up with some new cute Asura faces.
Ranger is a class that’s a part of speed dungs, if you know what are you doing. \we are even better than before the update, with spoter and frost spirit, plus a 15% damage buff only from a passive trait. We can outdps many classes at the moment.
With Sword/x and LB on 6/5/0/3 traits, rangers are top PvE class.
Do you mean 6/5/0/0/3?
What do you use for condition removal in your build?
When I checked my weapon-smith today, she had some recipes for new inscriptions such as ineffable, protean, saturated, shifting and resonating.
What stuff is this?
Just a quick question: Is longbow/shortbow viable in PvP?
(edited by Steinpilz.5078)
I play some tPvP with my ranger now with this build but I just cannot decide which melee weapon I should use.
I love the greatsword and don’t like the sword, but when I take sword I can equip a warhorn which gives me haste and helps me to get from one point to another fast.
With greatsword I could fight much better but it makes me slow.
What to do?
I’m not in an organized group with someone who would give me speed buff regularly.
Where are all the tameable animals now?
My Asura ranger is level 15 now, still in Metrica and I did not see any animal to pick up.
I want to make a new character for PvE as well as for tPvP.
Problem is, I cannot decide whether it should be a ranger or a Mesmer.
Ranger seems very strong in tPvP at the moment, but will this remain so?
And then I already have 2 ranged classes, 1 thief with a shortbow and 1 grenadier engineer.
Mesmer seems a very interesting class, but can I play it?
When I look in the class forums no other class has so many build possibilities.
And then I have two problems with Mesmer as a class:
1. It is a slow class unless you equip a focus - but then you cannot take another off-hand weapon.
2. It seems difficult to get rid of conditions unless you take some traits (mantras), but then you sacrifice a lot of (shatter) damage.
So - what should I do?
Not long. Got killed by more than a few Rapid Fire + Quickening Zephyr Rangers already.
I wished they would separate PvP from PvE completely.
If the ranger is nerved because of PvP it will affect PvE too, which is unnecessary.
PvP and PvE are total different setups, so abilities should work different.
Decided to give it a shot myself and yeah, 10 – 12k damage in 1 second is pretty brutal.
How did you manage to shot yourself?
the only reason to take MtD is if you can reliably nail 3 people with your shatters in a group fight. Other than that I’d say ya this trait is just turning out to be pretty lame.
I don’t understand why this should be so.
Imagine a warrior with some stacks of torment and confusion, he should die fast.
Torment is a very powerful condition.
