I have to admit, when I heard the Berserker, I expected to see posts of, “Wut, bad enough we have a zerker meta…”
Same thing I was thinking and shocked to not see everywhere.
Considering the outpouring of dislike for the “Dragonhunter” name, I expected to see quite a lot of comments about how “Berserker” was, not only unoriginal and lacking in any creativity or relationship to the specialization itself, but also likely to cause confusion considering the stat combination “Berserker” already exists in the game.
I still cannot believe they chose that name for the specialization. I thought they were going out of their way to make the game as uncomplicated as possible so as to not confuse their players, then they chose the most confusion-likely and uncreative name possible for that specialization.
Player 1: What spec are you running?
Player 2: Zerker.
Player 1: Are you talking about the elite specialization or the stats on your gear?
Player 2: Yes.
Player 1: …
I still like “The Jackal” as my idea for the warrior elite specialization. Could have offered a nice theme for the skills. It’s a shame ANet didn’t put some kind of community and hype building strategy into place for the specializations where players could vote on the names, similar to the whole LA naming thing.

Nice thread, bookmarked.
I wonder if those nice datamined dragonfly wings may show up.
I’m really looking forward to those wings for one of my characters. Hopefully it will not be much longer of a wait.
Alternatively, they recently made the “Enter” key log in to the selected character slot. Previously we would need to either double-click the portrait or select the portrait and then click the Play (?) button to load a character. It took a long time to even get that functionality (still no left<>right keyboard movement through portraits though), so I do not expect we should see additional activation keys to ‘Enter’ for quite some time. It’s worth giving switching to using Enter instead of Spacebar a try to see if you can change your ‘muscle-memory’ to use it instead.
Seems others reported already:
May want to add your voice to those threads. Hopefully it will be taken care of swiftly.

Give it a few days. The anniversary sales go for 21 days. I’m sure it, too, will make its return at some point in there.
I think it’s fair for it to cost a little more if it’s a completely different look on each race.
However, I don’t want all of those different looks, so even though I think it’s fair, I’m not willing to pay a premium for a feature I won’t use. I really only want the Asura one.
So I’d be willing to pay maybe 300-ish gems for the Asura outfit only, but I’m not going to pay 1000 gems just so I can use the Asura outfit and ignore the other 4 versions.
The patch notes phrase it as a package “Uniquely customized for every race, you can pick up an account unlock for all of them for 1000 gems” I don’t want this package. I just want 1-2 of them, and would be willing to buy just 1-2 of them.
I doubt the outfit system would allow for this in the same way as cultural armor skins though. So I doubt Anet would ever do this, and as such, I will likely never buy this outfit. And that is my wallet vote.
I am in the same situation and have the same feelings on the matter as you. I would only really be interested in the asura outfit, but I’m not going to spend 1k gems on the full unlock package just to get that one I would use.
It is similar to how the armor skin sets would cost 800 gems for the whole armor set and you’d need to pay that just to get the gloves you wanted. Outfits also have the added element of being extremely restrictive in their designs, which I feel does not compensate for the positive aspect of being ‘unlimited-use’ for the account.
I feel that 1k gems is too much for an outfit, any outfit, with their current functionality and limitations. Will likely wait for a sale on it (if there ever is one) that brings it back down to the 700ish gems I’d consider paying, despite that still being on the high end for what they offer to me.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Well cooking outfit is already 5 ‘different outfit’ (10? not sure if different on gender). And it costs 700 gems (got it 520 gems when on discount).
So yeah a bit high. Will have to think it through if i will buy this one. Is this a permanent sale item (like Examplar Attire inspired by Countess Anise) or will it be a temporary sale (like mad kings outfit)?
We should not expect Exemplar and others to continue to be for sale. They’ve already arbitrarily removed several outfits (and other items) from the gem store just so they could offer them again for one of these sales where it is only available to be purchased again for the same price that it was previous to its removal. An example of this is the Balthazar outfit and the unlimited flame tools – they were removed some months ago just so they could be made temporarily available again at full price right now during the anniversary sales.
This thread is discussing the price of the wedding outfit. If you want to discuss the outfit itself and what it looks like, there is already a really long thread on that where pics and posts talk about the outfit on each species in the game. Don’t derail.

Does anyone have it? Can it be dyed?
I was going to complain, but it looks so good (IMO) on asura and norn. I think I need it!
As it is an outfit, it only has 4 total dye slots for the entire appearance. This means that one slot changes the color of several areas that the creators designate, so you have to rely on their choice of design elements that are linked to each slot and cannot color each element of the outfit individually like you can with (most) armor.
This dyeing restriction is part of the reason why I do not feel 1,000 gems is a justifiable price for an outfit. Even if if looks different on every race and gender, it’s still an outfit and has all of the downsides of an outfit. 800 gems is the maximum that I feel is reasonable for any outfit.

If you check the age of each of your characters, you can then determine how long until each character receives their respective birthday gifts for their age.
While in-game, enter this command into your chat box: /age
When a character’s age reaches 365 days they will receive the Year 1 gift.
When a character’s age reaches 730 days they will receive the Year 2 gift.
When a character’s age reaches 1095 days they will receive the Year 3 gift.
etc.
You can also go to a website like timeanddate.com where you can add or subtract days to determine exactly what date it was you created the character on (when their birthday is) and how many more days until their next birthday.
So, essentially what you are asking for is a way to have options like “Receive Whispers”:
- From All
- From Friends and Guild Members
- From Friends
- None
This seems like a reasonable feature request.
If Player A is on Player B’s friends list, but Player B isn’t on Player A’s friends list, how does that interaction work out?Would this also extend out to things like mail?
(Please note this does not mean that this will happen, won’t happen, is planned to happen, and or not planned to happen)
These additions would prevent the situation you propose from even becoming an issue and a scenario to account for as there would not be a way for A to be on B’s list without B also being on A’s list.

The pact needs to be deunionized. The orders function better by themselves, we don’t need all our marbles in one basket, and it’s harder for the enemy to be aware of and attempting to thwart 3 organization’a separate attacks than it is one.
That the Pact has to go is a crucial element of the proposal Shriketalon put forth to ANet last year.
I strongly urge everyone to read Shriketalon’s post on merging the personal and living story for excellent concepts of a possible future for GW2.
I also urge anyone reading his thread to read everything else he has written on the forums – tons of fantastic infographics and concepts. I’m actually seeing a lot of his concepts seeming to make their way into ANet’s narrative and groundwork for future stories and that gives me hope.
I noticed this the other day and I considered making a thread about it, but I’m glad to see that you already have. I, too, am concerned about this.
The easiest way I’ve found to deal with this is to use a copy/paste trick, as follows:
- [Shift]+[click] the item
- Copy (or cut) the chat code from the chat window.
- Drag the item out of inventory (or right-click & choose ‘delete’)
- Paste the chat code to the dialogue box.
- Remove the brackets (“[” and “]”) from the field.
- The delete button becomes active.
I also use the trick when my fingers can’t seem to manage the spelling or when the word is too long or when I’m just impatient to get rid of the item.
That’s a much quicker method than the previous one I used of transferring the account-bound item into the inventory of a new character and then deleting the character. Thanks for this!
I mentioned this in the other thread on this topic:
I do not see any bear heads on the torch.
Let’s see:
- 3 hound heads + Snake head on the hilt = Cerberus from Greek mythology.
“Cerberus, in Greek and Roman mythology, is a multi-headed (usually three-headed) dog, or “hellhound” with a serpent’s tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion’s claws. He guards the entrance of the Greek underworld to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering."
Yep. It’s Cerberus.
Now what name could the elite spec be with this in mind?
I doubt it would be “The Hound” due to the Game of Thrones character.
“Hellhound” perhaps? Or some other X-hound name (Demonhound)? The Mutt?
However, it is said that the name “Cerberus” is a Latinised version of the Greek “Kerberos”. Perhaps it is related to that form of the name. If the spec turns out to be quite good, perhaps kicking someone’s butt with it would become known as getting “Kerb-stomped”
If I take the name etymology further, I am placing my guess for the elite spec as being called:
“The Growler”
(or possibly “The Jackal”)

I’m having this issue and I can’t seem to resolve it with the above instructions. :/
Do you have an additional firewall program running on your computer, likely incorporated into your anti-virus program like Avast? You would need to designate the Coherent process within this firewall program to be permitted unrestricted access to the internet in addition to being permitted in Windows Firewall.
No you’re wrong in every way, legendary armor will never be a thing.
But back items are ok? And don’t they get damaged like armor?
Yes, back items can become damaged or ‘destroyed’ just like body armor.
Unless the legendary back item cannot become damaged due to being legendary. I did not read the details on the legendary back item so that may be an aspect of it.
For OW-PvE, I strongly recommend ranger. You have a very good choice of long bow and short bow to swap between for ranged in different situations (group or solo), as well as a really good set of skills in an axe/sword set. You can also pick up a greatsword for melee combat whose skills also mesh really well with those of the long/short bows as a weapon swap to where you can transition between ranged and melee easily during a single encounter.
Others may have thoughts on its effectiveness in WvW/PvP and iPvE. I do not take part in those game modes so I cannot offer my thoughts in regards to them.
Thank you very much.
Also, another thank you very much for all of the assistance you have provided and continue to provide to other players on these forums. I have enjoyed reading your responses on topics and issues these past couple of years.
You might try posting in Michael’s thread. He might offer a different outcome. =)
Good luck.
Thank you for your comment. I’ve looked around and can only find Michael Henninger’s sticky in the Account & Technical Support forum for “GW2 Tickets for Review (3 days & older)”. However, as my ticket already has a response on the matter and does not have an issue of seemingly ‘falling through the cracks’ and thereby lacking a response, and it also not being older than 3 days yet, do you think it appropriate to post it there to request the determination by support be altered and reconsidered for the item to be granted?
If you are referencing a different Michael and/or a different thread, could you provide a link to it please? I would appreciate your taking the time to help point me in that direction.
Just to update the issue for others, Support has decided that they will not manually send me the free booster in an in-game mail due to the issue of being unable to claim it while it was still available in the gem store because of the error it generated.
I think that, with it only being a tiny little temporary booster, they would rather have sent me the free one in an in-game mail instead of insulting me by claiming that it was a misunderstanding. It wasn’t a misunderstanding…it was listed as free and available to be claimed. It was their error that prevented me from claiming it. I understand perfectly.
It’s just a little booster that was supposed to be free for me anyway. It is quite disappointing that they would rather be stingy like this with something so small as a temporary booster than to make things right by issuing it via in-game mail.
Again, I know it is only a tiny, temporary booster, but to me it is the principle of the matter.
Again, quite disappointing. Oh well. :\
Interesting. I assumed it wasn’t a wide-spread issue as I didn’t see any other threads reporting it so I did go ahead and file a support ticket. It’s not that huge of a deal, it’s just unfortunate that I encountered an issue with claiming it as it is extremely rare that I have any kind of issue with the TP.
I logged in just now after reading the booster changes and went to claim the free booster in the gem store.
Upon trying to claim the booster I was given a message stating that the listing has expired and that the page would reload to display the current listings. At this point it still showed the booster as being free, but no matter what I do it will not grant it to me.
The listing says that the sale is ending soon…
Am I out getting this free booster despite it still being there for me to claim?

Hmm. One thing I can come up with to try would be to:
It may not be an acceptable thing to try due to using a T-charge or two to get it back to looking how you want it to, but I think it is worth a shot if it saves from resorting to deleting the character. Could instead use a duplicate item and then perform the test and only use one charge to make it match the appearance of your existing helm.
It may not work. Again, I’m just trying to think of a way to reset and unglitch the character’s helm slot.
Also thinking if utilizing a die>respawn, die>logout>login, die>hide helm>respawn>show helm sequence could have an effect on the appearance of the character, as well as if the active attunement could play a part in the above-outlined unglitch attempt sequence.
Do you have any outfits unlocked on your account? If so, does toggling one of those on (with and without the head portion of the outfit displayed) cause the fire jewel to disappear?
If it does cause the jewel to disappear, does removing the outfit and once again displaying your armor bring it back again?
I do not see it mentioned yet, and I expect support to have requested you perform it, but have you tried running a -repair on your game client yet to see if it finds and corrects an error in a game file?
Another thing to try would be to enter into water and go beneath the surface. Then hide your aquatic helm. Maybe try removing your land helm completely first and then re-showing aquatic helm either while still under water or on land, and then re-equipping your land helm. Just trying to think of a way to trick it into resetting the head appearance on land if a repair didn’t help.

I really enjoy your personality and method of relating your thoughts. I’d definitely like to hear you talk about other interesting GW2 topics and your take on various subjects. If you have time for it in your daily schedule, I’d like to see many more videos. If you would like suggestions for topics I could certainly toss out a few. Thanks for your video on this subject!
I didn’t used to until they became the only guaranteed method of aquiring Spirit Shards. Now I they are the first thing I do after logging in if I intend to play for any amount of time.
Ouch… You are missing out on some serious loot. Dailies give your monthly allocation of laurels so you can buy ascended trinkets. Also give mats for crafting legendary and ascended. Its pretty much free stuff, completing daily take about 15 mins
I think you’re referring to Login Rewards, not dailies. The only bonus to doing dailies is the aformentioned Spirit Shards and bonus Mystic Coins if you do the Mystic Forge daily. Otherwise the Daily Rewards are just extra crafting mats, XP scrolls and karma sips.
Dailies are also 10 free achievement points every day, getting you closer to those sweet achievement chests.
:\ For me, I stopped considering the achievement chests as being “sweet” when they removed the armor and weapon skins from them. It was a nice alternative method of acquisition for many of the dungeon skins even if it was a very rare chance of getting one, or even more rare to get one you were hoping for. When that change was made, I stopped caring about achievement points and those chests completely, which led to my no longer looking to complete content to earn them and contributed to lack of interest in even logging in. There has been far too much reduction in content that has led to lack of motivation and interest to continue playing. I still have a tiny bit of hope that ANet will change this direction of reduction and restriction in the future…a very, very tiny bit.
Had done them every day since launch (occasionally missing one every few weeks) even through the Daily restructurings. Have not really done a daily since the most recent restructure and highly limiting change to the available tasks to complete it.
(see quoted post as I feel pretty much the same about the change as Juclesia Elcritian does)
That horrible change was directly responsible for my lack of interest in even logging in much anymore.
If they brought back the previous daily task options then I would probably go back to logging in and playing every day.
Stripping the daily task options down to a select few, coupled with no content updates or temporary festival re-additions in many months, as well as no new armor sets to spend time acquiring to incorporate into existing or new characters’ fashions has pretty much gotten rid of any reason for me to log in anymore.
[…]
I have not done dailies since they changed them. Sometimes they’d complete themselves, but very rarely.
As it is, the dailies don’t exist for me, as they force me out of my daily play routine and I just don’t want to be told what to do.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Thanks for this, Dulfy.
I like several of the designs and would have likely picked up many of them…but it is yet another weapon set covered in gold so yet another set I will pass on. Quite disappointing to me.
Alternatively, you can drop 2,000 gems on the digital upgrade in the gem store that includes, among other things, a Heritage Armor Skin Set chest. This chest will allow you to choose to receive and unlock one armor set of 3 available, where the medium armor set offered is the Krytan Armor Set. Could also wait until that goes on sale some time.
I want a Dolyak with saddlebags.
I can’t come up with anything for how that could possibly assist the player offensively in combat…unless it waddles over to and rolls onto an enemy, but then we would need to help it get back on its feet again. Perhaps it is a purely defensive pet and we can stand behind it while it takes shots for us?
one suggestion!
please give us multiple beta character slots! i’d really like to test Revenant and Tempest, and Reaper, and Dragonhunter, and Chronomancer, and be able switch between them without losing character / account progress. (i’d also like to test out how the account-progression for masteries works)
i have almost 20 level 80 characters as it is, and many more low level alts. i love the variety GW2 offers for character builds, and would love that aspect to be available for the BWE as well!
thank you for listening and considering this request.
and bacon to you too!
Colin Johanson recently mentioned that this BWE will grant 4 beta character slots to allow for proper beta testing by players.
I’m a bit sad to only have one slot. Now I have to choose whether to test one thing and advance its masteries enough to give feedback on higher tiers, or to smorgasbord the start of multiple things.
I think I’m leaning to testing Chronomancer in as much depth as I can.
You’ll be getting four beta character slots to play with – have fun!

I agree with you, Noktus, that glitch did produce a pretty awesome look.
I’d love to have a character look like that, especially a Largos
I personally want to tame a Griffon and have it for a pet. Just saying.
Preferably an Owl Griffon.
Whoa, whoa, whoa…
Is that the original Flamekissed Armor she’s wearing in that picture?!
It really looks like it to me. It even has the fire emitting jewels, whereas the Human T3 version just has jewels. I really hope it is and that it means they’re doing something with cultural armor appearance upgrade tiers and it’ll be available again.

May want to visit the Revenant sub-forum for things related to the revenant.
Sticky found there with this info on their adding weapon swap as well as more changes, like boosted weapon damage and the like.

Because bad players hate dodging and blame the fact that good players know how to read animations and dodge when needed…
Half the problem is even seeing the animations through all the particle effects. They need an option to turn them down. Stupid amounts. Sometimes I cannot even see bosses.
Indeed. There are still several enemies and bosses in the game that I have no idea what they look like after 3 years other than what I can see in their picture when I target them.
You do not need to be logged in to browse the forums, only to reply to or create topics.
I would suggest going to http://www.guildwars2.com and then selecting the “Forums” link at the top to view the forums.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum
It’s possible that all of the added redirect and tracking stuff google does to links is causing a problem where it makes your browser think you need to be logged in to view a page. I suggest going straight to the forums page and not use google entirely.
Happy to add some additional help to TheBlackLeech’s response.
You can also preview the different armor items together by viewing your wardrobe tab at your personal bank. You can then search the trading post for dyes and preview them on the armor combo you are previewing. Will surely help you envision what you want it to ultimately look like so you can also look to acquire the dyes you want to use as well. You can then also preview what weapon skins you may want to acquire for the character as well.
Legs are Falconer’s Leggings, Human Tier 2 cultural.
Acquisition:
Krytan Gloves Chest and Boots
These are part of a Gem Store armor skin set that is about 500 gems. If it is currently unavailable (I think they took it out of the store), then you would need to buy the Digital Deluxe upgrade in the gem store for 2,000 gems, which comes with your choice of one of three “legacy armor” sets where you can then choose the medium armor Krytan set.
Order of Whispers Helm
Order of Whispers helm requires playing a character through their personal story until they become a member of the Order, which opens up the Whispers Merchant where you can buy it with coin.
Prowler Shoulders
Buy any of the prowler shoulder items from the TP for a few silver which has this skin on it.
Falconer’s Leggings
Talk to the human Cultural Armorsmith (Tier 2) in Divinity’s Reach and buy them for 1gold 50 silver.

They all blow up at once. Did it a lot with 3 other Rev guildies and crashed my own client twice.
What you can’t do is move them all at once. Only the youngest tablet responds to that. Unfortunately.
Ah, glad to hear first-hand experience of what the bug allowed. They’ve released a patch though, so it looks like the issue is fixed now.
If you pop your elite, do all the tablets explode at once?
…would be a fun way to crash a map.
From what I gather, only the most recently placed tablet is active and all previous only exist visually.
Beta bug which has already been reported in the appropriate area, just as bugs found during beta should be.
Some even got quite artistic with the bug:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Ventari-Tablet-Art-Best-bug-of-the-beta
New Revenant profession sub-forum is up.
I’m afraid of them giving out refunds… does that mean they aren’t planning on fixing the fix?
If that’s the case, I’m going to hop on the refund bandwagon too.
Hiya, Hamfast!
That was mainly why I waited until Gaile made a response on the matter. If the ‘fix’ was going to be fixed, I’d have waited to see what it looked like then. However, her response of ‘passing our concerns along’ told me that it is unlikely to be looked into further and that it’d likely be staying exactly as it is right now. This prompted me to seek the refund as it is very unlikely to be reverted to the pre-fix visual that I purchased but with clipping issues corrected. I recommend your seeking the refund immediately, personally.
I was against buying outfits for so long, but I finally gave in and bought the monk outfit (gold to gems) as it brought back so many fond memories of GW1. I was happy with it and it looked great – I did not noticed any clipping issues on my characters.
Then it was ‘fixed’ and turned into what we have now.
I was no longer happy with my purchase as the new style no longer reminded me of the appearance of my characters from GW1.
I sent my refund request in this afternoon.
I was awarded a refund in 27 minutes from my initial sending of my request.
One thing I must say, I’ve always had extremely wonderful dealings with support save for a single instance the first week of the game launching, though I do not fault support for that situation.
Anyway, this is how I explained the issue in my initial refund request:
Greetings. I recently purchased the “Monk Outfit” from the gem store and I was very happy with my purchase. However, shortly afterward there was an update to ‘fix’ some clipping issues that others were experiencing. Upon fixing these clipping issues, the appearance of the outfit was altered to be that of one I do not like and would not have purchased.
If I may be considered for a refund of the 700 gems I spent purchasing this item, I would be very grateful. I do not like that the item was changed after I purchased it to have such a different appearance.
Thank you very much.
If others find it a useful description of their experience and why they are seeking a refund, feel free to use my description of the situation as yours in your request.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Noble_Count_Outfit has exact same problem. It is less obvious of course but still noticeable when you run forward. Guys that make this new outfits are probably too kitteno add pants to female versions.
Off topic: Since when S.H.Y. is a bad word?
It isn’t “shy” that is being blocked, it is “shy” followed by “to” where “shy” + the first letter of “to” is a slang term for a swear word with an alternate spelling to its usual “ite” spelling.
Hope that clears it up.
I see a lot of really good questions being asked.
It is quite disappointing to see that they are not being answered.
I find it quite odd that they would post the announcement for the event less than 3 days before the event takes place, and to then also not include information on what to expect from the event which has led to all of these questions. With there now being less than 2 days before the event starts, I suppose there is still a little bit of time to sneak in last second with answers to some of these valid questions and concerns. The lack of answers leaves me wondering if they, themselves, hadn’t considered some of the scenarios and details being asked about. It could explain why they are not answering them – they don’t have an answer to give yet as they are busy racing to account for the situations and questions being raised before the event starts. Wouldn’t surprise me. Not much they do (or do not do) surprises me anymore.
