I’ve had a theory going through my head for a while now that the reason for their no longer putting armor sets in the gem store, and instead only releasing outfits now and then for almost a year, is because they may be building up a large supply of armor sets to sell in an armor package. Perhaps it will be a package of redone GW1 armor sets to coincide with the GW 10 year anniversary on April 28th.
Then again, maybe the armor designers were needed to work on things for HoT and the switch to outfits from armor sets was simply so that they could toss little effort required skins on the store now and then so that there was still something being put on there.
I’m hoping for the former scenario.
I just hope they didn’t find that they were making just as much (or more) with outfits that require less work than they were from armor sets and completely stop making armor sets for good. Both should continue to be offered and in alternating releases, preferably.

Yeah. I noticed something was wrong with the fonts of prices in listings on the small UI in normal view.
It appears that ‘I am Evon Gnashblade’ mode is also messed up. Only difference Evon mode seems to make now is that it displays quantities in the centers of the icons with a shaded overlay and everything else stays the same.
Video uploader notes:
Note: Contains minor editing. Also this ISN’T THE OFFICIAL TITLE. There isn’t one yet.
So during the Expansion Reveal Livestream, they previewed a song that sounded like Jungle Ambience. They again played this song before the Points of Interest Livestream, but they only played the remaining four minutes.
Brilliantly composed by Maclaine Diemer.
With minor editing to combine the two parts of the song, I present to you the FULL version of the Ambience of Maguuma track.
The Guild Wars 2 Theme Reprise at the end of the track was just…too beautiful. Maclaine Diemer, you’ve outdone yourself with this fantastic track. I can’t wait to hear the finished version played by a live orchestra! (Maclaine said that this is just a demo version and that the piece still needs work, so these are all sampled instruments.)
My guess is this will (obviously) play in the new maps located in the Heart of Maguuma. But, I also believe this will be added to the rotation of songs heard during Character Selection/Creation.
I’m working on my composite and will post when finished.
Some characters pics are in my sig at my Imgur.
In the mean time, OP (TheDuck), I think it’d be real funny if you changed your thread title to:

Get it? If you don’t use it then I will make my own thread with it! …maybe…meh, probably not.
:D
I’d much prefer a character select screen with these elements:
(edited by StinVec.3621)
The blade hue is different because of the ambient lighting in the game world and the fact that the Preview and Hero Panel windows have a set ‘base’ for lighting that is separate from the game world.
The result is lighting on armor and weapons in the world will be different than seen in the preview/HP windows. Many areas of the world may permit the weapon to be seen as it is shown in those windows, but you would need to find areas of the world with similar lighting to that used in those windows.
I sometimes like the effect ambient lighting of the world has on my armor and weapons, though I also find many times that it completely ruins the appearance of my character by causing dyes on certain armor pieces to appear differently than I’d like.
Not much that can be done about, sadly. My method of compensating for the ambient lighting issues was to opt to have different armor sets and weapons depending on the zone I am in. This allowed for an appearance that is affected positively by the lighting of the zone instead of negatively. Not ideal for everyone, but it’s adds a bit of fun to my travels, as if I am actually gearing for my journey through the zone.

Perhaps some of your filters are changed to hide some elements.
Click on the little eyeball icon in the very bottom left corner of the world map to open the filters.
Make sure all elements are checked/enabled to then be shown on the map.
Yea that looks sweet. I would buy it.
I think I actually would too. I didn’t really like the chaos weapons at all, but that eclipse style would be pretty nice.
Good Thread
Pretty informative thread on Reddit on this topic I just discovered.

SweetFX/FXAAPPI/GemFX
There seem to be ways of utilizing SweetFX to correct colors for those with differing degrees of colorblindness.
Discussion here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/sweetfx-shader-suite-download,37.html
And the shader linked in that post: http://ninjafada.com/sweetfx/colorblind/ColorBlind.h
I’m sure there are a lot of discussions and shaders for this issue by players.
May want to dig into using SweetFX or a similar program (FXAAPPI, GemFX, etc) to compensate for colors.

Hope some of this helps someone.
As a note for those that may not have seen it, Basaltface pointed out an interesting thing seen in the Twitch stream last week.
well… from that stream i got some infos…

and had no darn hobosack (lets hope thats the norm for engi kits soon)
[…]
It is possible (unlikely as it is ANet we’re talking about, but possible) that this change will translate over to the horrible hobosack issue that has kept me from playing engi for over 2 years.

Page numbers are tied to the user. Mine works for me, where the one offered leads only to a page on which Colin’s post does not reside, because I have a different post number per page than other users.
I’m sorry for the confusion on the link. Maybe it’s best to do this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/members/ColinJohanson-2394/showposts
Please note: You may find Colin’s other posts of interest as well.
Linking posts work better if you use the link from the chain icon next to the post(the one next to the reply and flag icons). So for example the link to your post that I am replying to should be https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Traits-Part-2/4776937 rather than https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Traits-Part-2/first#post4776937 (the tooltip on that icon actually recommend doing it this way!)
I was just about to say the same thing but wanted to read the whole thread first to see if anyone else said it first, and here the last post (yours) said it.
Remove the “page number” from the equation entirely and just use the built-in post linking icon to copy-paste the link so it’ll actually work.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Game-Updates-Traits/4733414
Once that link is fixed in the OP then half of the first page of posts can be removed since all they are doing is talking about the broken link – including our posts now :P

I was always under the impression that active play with the account was required before the limitations would fall off. I don’t think limitations fall off simply due to account age, but by actively playing the account.
If you have not already, try completing a few dynamic events and hitting a few POIs and stuff with the account and see if it triggers the restrictions to fall off properly.
The middle-of-the-week login reward that gives select items from the gem store has given me 3 BLSKs already.
May want to make sure you keep logging in every day to get them that way.
Otherwise, key farming is still an option, but you are much less likely to get a BLSK from it as there are quite a lot more possible items that a chest can drop.
lucky you… I get repair canisters….
Oh, I presume yoyo want them for that dark matter you can get from exotics?
I get the other useless-to-me things often as well, but yes, I’m lucky I’ve managed to get 3 kits so far. I don’t use them that often anymore though.
I’d imagine the recommendation of others to use a Mystic Kit to get dark matter is a good idea as they are readily available and relatively cheap to make. Personally, I only use a BLSK on an exotic if there is a rune/sigil on it that I can resell for good coin and I don’t want to risk not getting it by using a Mystic Kit.

I believe that is an early beta version of town clothes prior to being changed to what we ended up getting and they just threw it onto some NPCs and is yet another appearance not available to players. It also looks like the basis for what was to become the chef’s outfit, but with some alterations.
Will keep looking to see if I find more info on it and if it is available with a tonic.

I gave up on the personal story when I discovered that it required a group dungeon to finish my “personal” story.
I had the same thought. Then I got over it and used LFG to find a group to do the dungeon with. Smh.
Your dismissive and belittling comment seems uncalled for to me. Shake your head all you want, I explained my disinterest further with the rest of my comment:
Their further removing and shuffling of story chapters (thus causing it to make no sense) was the last nail in any desire I had to return to give them another try.
I had considered “getting over it” and doing it anyway, but the further destructive changes to the personal story killed any interest in even doing that.
Currently designing and outfitting a second mesmer (sylvari) to go along with the Pact Fleet weaponry. I only need a carapace chest before I finish her look and can then begin leveling and adventuring with her (despite the trait/NPE changes). Unfortunately for me, Vinewrath isn’t being kind with granting the carapace chests. :\
So now up to:
[8xRanger] [2xNecro] [2xWarrior] [2xMesmer] [2xThief] [1xEle] [1xGuardian] [0xEngi]
May do more rangers after HoT, depending on how specializations affect them and the need or desire to create additional ones.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
I currently have 8 rangers (of 18 slots). I had more, but several didn’t survive the 2+ years.
I would easily have double that number of rangers if it were not for the trait changes and NPE that led to killing my love for designing, outfitting (with armor, not outfits), adventuring and leveling a ton of characters.
Also, the number of rangers I have has no relationship to the personal story whatsoever as I gave up on the personal story when I discovered that it required a group dungeon to finish my “personal” story. Their further removing and shuffling of story chapters (thus causing it to make no sense) was the last nail in any desire I had to return to give them another try.

I’d just love an exclusion filter so I can type in the word “buying” and/or “selling” to hide all of those buy/sell LFG abusers. I’ve given up hope finding a decent Silverwastes map as the buying/selling posts fill it up so much that it’s hard to catch the SW posts before they’re filled.
Even better would be a filter to only show posts that include specific text, like “VW” or “Vinewrath”, or “SW 25%”, etc. so only those I am interested in will be displayed to me.
Would work the same for other areas, like excluding dungeon listings that include words like “speedrun”, “80 only” and the like so I only see the types of groups I’d be interested in joining for a dungeon.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
But then they’d have to take out the watchwork pick’s bonus.
Others have also extended the suggestion of separation to the bonus element of the tool.
So 3 items:
Buy the unlimited tool with a base (standard/generic) appearance
Buy alternate appearances to unlock that can be switched at any time
Buy Bonus Plugins that can be switched at any time
More individualized elements to the tools increases sales over only selling individual tools with a set skin (and possible bonus like watchwork). So players would buy the unlimited tool of their choice, but appearance/animations and bonus plugins are account wide unlocks. It would still encourage sales of multiple tools to avoid the bank>log out>log in>withdraw cycle to shift a tool between characters.
Also, there are people that do not purchase the unlimited tools because of the animations. Some just don’t like them and only want the unlimited functionality without the added graphical element. This would solve that problem and make additional sales to those that would not purchase an unlimited tool with a special animation.

Since launch, if I wanted to invite someone to a party via their name in the chat box, I found that I first had to temporarily add them as a friend to then be able to invite them from their name in my contacts list. I would then remove them from my contacts. I didn’t know we were even supposed to be able to invite people to parties that weren’t on our contacts list. Wow. This is what happens when bugs do not get fixed, Anet – people are not even aware of how it is supposed to work due to never experiencing it working properly.

They survive the fall, and we’ll have to rescue them with Destiny’s Edge 2.0
I’m still hoping for someone to save us from Destiny’s Edge 2.0. The fewer dealings we have with them the better, in my opinion.
It’d be horrible if something were to happen to Zojja also. If her famous voice actor were to quit or no longer voice the character for whatever reason, I could see them opting to kill her off over finding a closely sounding replacement. That would make some pretty big news and waves in the community if it were to come out that Felicia Day refused or was no longer able to continue her voicing of Zojja.
I’m not saying that this did or will happen, just that it’d be a really interesting situation if it came about. I wonder how Anet would handle the character after that. If it were to happen, now would be the best time to show Zojja the exit…even if it is a quick and cheap way to do it.

Low resolution issue reported in bugs recently, as well as her being shorter than her bikini version.
Mini animations in fast forward (for many/most of the minis) has been reported since Wintersday reintroduction patch in December. Not likely to get fixed any time soon, if ever.

There is a difference between ‘Damaged’ armor and ‘Broken’ armor. You will not see armor disappear and lose the stats for that armor until they are actually in the state of being ‘Broken’ and not just ‘Damaged’.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damaged
There are two stages that equipment can go through that require repairs: damaged and broken. Damaged armor has no direct negative effect, but if all equipped pieces of equipment are damaged, items will begin to become broken. Broken equipment provides no defense or attribute bonuses, but upgrade components continue to provide their normal effects.
Pretty much every mini I’ve checked has had this issue since the Wintersday reintroduction patch. Despite it being reported repeatedly (in-game as they discourage using the forums to report bugs), they’ve not bothered to fix it yet. Do not expect the fast animations to be corrected any time soon though, if ever.

Just as a note in case you or others were not aware, that setting only affects the textures on other player’s characters and NPCs, not the textures on your own character.
Disabling it (or it being forced disabled for some as you are aware) can actually increase your frame rate when around a lot of other players, as well as shorten loading times when loading to an area that has a lot of players (Rata Sum accountancy waypoint, for example).
Basically, if you don’t care if other characters have lower quality textures, it’s better to have it off. But I can see your point of wanting it fixed if you are one that really wants other character’s textures to be of high quality.
Heres my little Necro!
Can’t quite tell, but your little necro looks more like an engineer.
Oh, and you have a human in a non-mix-n-match Outfit in the way
I agree with your observation. It does, indeed, appear to be an engineer, though I cannot make out exactly what armor is being worn on their little asura at that distance.
I further agree that it would be best to ditch the human in a non-mix-n-match outfit when taking a better screenshot. It really taints the spirit of this specifically titled thread to have its presence in the forefront of the image of their actual mix-n-match armored character.
:)
New LS chapter has shown what the purple glowing eyes can look like. I’d love for this to now be made available as well. I’d also love a purple spinal blade color to be developed by some NPC that we can craft like the others.
I find that the audio mixing in this game only works if the speaker setup is set to stereo. If the computer is set to 3.1, 5.1, or 7.1 the dialogue will often be assigned to some random spot between speakers and be inaudible.
Indeed, that is the case for many. Unfortunately for me, my speaker setup has been configured to stereo in all of the appropriate areas for quite some time and the dialogue audio in LS chapters is the only dialogue that is affected by the issue of missing audio. It seems this dialogue issue is not related to the issue of surround sound configuration sending audio channels to speakers that do not exist, at least in my case.
The tip of correctly configuring system audio to stereo when the user’s hardware does not support surround sound is sure to help many with some sound issues, though I do not believe it will resolve the root issue being outlined about missing audio dialogue in LS chapters, unfortunately. :\
As I mentioned elsewhere to someone else…
Clicking ‘OK’ in the success window will cause the item information pop-up to remain on-screen. This is intended behavior and exactly the same functionality as it had been prior to today’s update.
To exit that item pop-up after completing a sale and move on to another item, you must click the ‘Close’ button to return to your items to sell listings (as it had been prior to today’s update). Alternatively, you can click the [X] in the top right corner or anywhere outside of the pop-up to dismiss it and return to your item listings (just as before today’s update).
Hitting ‘OK’ has been behaving this way since the initial TP 2.0 update, it is not new.
However, what is new is that you are no longer forced to close the item information pop-up after completing a sale if you happen to have no more of that item left to sell.
Previously:
Sell some of an item – have the ‘OK and the ’Close’ buttons available
- Could choose to remain working in the pop-up by hitting ‘OK’
- Could choose to close the pop-up by hitting ‘Close’
Sell all of an item – only have the ‘Close’ option.
- Unfortunate if you wanted to continue working in that pop-up window for some reason as you were forced to have to close it.
With today’s update:
Sell some of an item – have the ‘OK and the ’Close’ buttons available
- Can choose to remain working in the pop-up by hitting ‘OK’
- Can choose to close the pop-up by hitting ‘Close’
Sell all of an item – have the ‘OK and the ’Close’ buttons available
- Can choose to remain working in the pop-up by hitting ‘OK’
- Can choose to close the pop-up by hitting ‘Close’
I can appreciate this minor QoL change to no longer be forced to exit the item information pop-up just because I sold all of that item instead of only some.
Baby Quaggan hanging from a Balloon.
Only thing I can think of after reading that is, “Where’s my baseball bat, I want some candy!”
Because, you know, it’s like a piñata.
I would never actually hit a real baby quaggan hanging from a balloon…honest!

Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge the issue on here, Talon. Knowing that it is being looked into is appreciated.
This entire season has been that way for me. Half of every spoken dialogue had no audio. Hear Kasmeer talking to Marjory, not hear Marjory’s side of the conversation despite their being right next to eachother. I still have no idea what Belinda’s voice sounds (sounded) like due to her not having any audio for me.
Others have also brought this up with each chapter. Guess it hasn’t been resolved yet. :\ Now I know what to expect with this new chapter when I get into it after they fix the bugs in it. :\
No sarcasm. Just because you cannot think of a reason does not mean that there aren’t reasons that other people may have for wanting to remain on that item information pop-up post-sale. I have two off the top of my head that are related to making money that I will not share. I’m sure other people will have more than that as well.
The point is, it is working as intended. Don’t like the additional ‘OK’ button instead of only having the ‘Close’ button like before? I gave several methods of closing the window. If you insist on hitting ‘OK’ and expecting it to close the window instead of hitting ‘Close’ to, you know, close the window, there’s nothing I or anyone else can do to help dissuade you from that behavior.
(edited by StinVec.3621)

Can you give us an option to not see those overly red items once I want to salvage something. After 2 years of GW2 I think I know what to salvage and what not, without being confused by disturbing red flashlights all over my inventory. =(
Give an option to turn it off, please! There is an option to turn it off. I for one am very pleased with this feature.
They’re not talking about the New Item Highlighting, they’re discussing something unrelated to the topic of this thread – the update to the salvaging highlighting going from highlighting salvageable items in blue to now highlighting non-salvageable items in red.
Sharu should stay on-topic and/or make their own thread to discuss what they want to discuss.
Clicking ‘OK’ in the success window will cause the item information pop-up to remain on-screen. This is intended behavior.

Setting the amount, by hovering over the amount + scroll up/down to change amount is no longer possible. You have to manually one click up arrow/down arrow, or hold mouse. This is really wonky.
Scroll wheel works if you first click in the field you wish to change.
Still a downgrade, it used to be you didnt have to click.
They’re making updates to these issues on the fly. That one has just been corrected. We can now hover increase/decrease again. Just updated the OP with some issues that are now fixed.
Also, be mindful of your arrow position while editing values as the fields now become activated upon being hovered over. You can be entering your quantity and be typing 250, but if your arrow drifts downward a little you’ll find yourself entering 250 into the gold field… Can cause some serious problems if this not just a temporary fix for scroll wheel hover increasing/decreasing until they get it back to how it was before.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
I would use it if it were not so brightly highlighted as to completely obscure what the item actually is.
Tone down the brightness or lessen how much of the icon is covered by the highlight and it would be useful to me.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Quantity is 130:
Placing the cursor after the “1” and pressing backspace causes it to remove the 1, but it also then moves the cursor after the far right number (0) so the amount is now 30. Pressing “2” causes the value to jump to 302 instead of 230 due to it moving the cursor location. As you cannot have more than 250 in a single buy order, the 302 becomes 250 when all you wanted to do was change your quantity from 130 to 230.
- In the case of coin and an attempt to change a value from 51 to 61:
Putting the cursor before the 5 in 51 and hitting DEL causes the 5 to erase and the cursor to be placed after the 1 instead of remaining where it was. Hitting 6 then causes your entered value to become 16 instead of 61 due to it automatically moving the cursor to the end of the field.
- Must now highlight all digits in the field and re-enter the entire desired number due to the cursor placement automatically jumping to after the last digit upon making any change to the entered value.
Also, the bug of the scroll bar areas not being dismissed with the pop-up has still not been corrected. Interactive dead zones still exist.

Seems the maintenance corrected the issue. It is functioning properly again for me.
Started happening to me about half an hour ago as well.
Already tried clearing cache, running repair, removing the /bin folder and allowing it to be recreated, messed with all graphics settings and interface size, etc.
Finally thought to see if it was just me and now I see it is not. I’ll stop trying to fix things on my end now seeing as it is something on their end.
I noticed that it isn’t that the names are not visible, but there are no names displayed at all due to sorting items by name causing them to remain pretty random since everything has no name.
Many others are now also mentioning it in-game, thinking it was just them as well.
Also some sudden connection errors and lag issues at times when attempting to use the TP as it is.

World bosses are not champion class enemies.
Oak is no longer a champion and was made a Veteran enemy many months ago.
Note that there were several reports over the past few months of specific PLAYERS causing massive lag issues on the entire server they were logged into at the time. I can’t recall the details nor if any corrections were made but it seemed to be related to the actual PLAYER ACCOUNT (as any of their characters seemed to cause the issue).
There were several threads on this forum regarding the issue (the player was reporting it and apparently working with Support to solve the problem). I have no idea if it was ever resolved or what the status currently is but it sounded like a very rare and isolated type of issue effecting only this players account. If this were an actual issue (and it sounded legit to me), it could obviously happen to other players accounts and they might not realize what was happening.
I’d spend time searching for the threads if the forum search feature actually worked….
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Character-causing-mapwide-lag/4457597
Was eventually resolved.
I guess we’ll find that out tonight, but thinking on the teaser image we got from PoI…
We’ve had a personal story chapter from Asura in the Inquest Inner Complex, in that same room, and involving a Sylvari. Remember Peredur ?
So, just something I’ve remembered from that room. Not sure If that will be related. In the instance you would be stuck in the prison at the center of the room and Peredur would help you get out.
Maybe the “real” Caithe is imprisoned there now? -maybe-
Or now will they place the egg within the prison? We’ll see.
Just funny I haven’t seen anyone remember that instance here in the forums.@Genlog: Nice remark, I didnt remember that.
So tonight we’ll see. Can’t wait for the update.
The update is a week away, not today. It has only been 1 week since the last chapter, so one more week to go until the next one that is marked for release on December 2nd.
