Its how they look. Much more like a frog/humanoid cross.
Thank you.
I saw the head and wrote the ridiculous size off to being due to the bobblehead, but then I saw the hands and they, too, seemed disproportionate to the body frame so I wasn’t quite sure.
I’m actually very serious with this question: Do those “Itzel”(?) (another frog race) have the bobblehead laboratory activated on them in those screenshots, or is that actually how they look?
Nice shots. Looks much less like Dry Top and Silverwastes than I expected.
Is that Mac you are using? If so, may want to mention that.
The holographic dragon wings can still be reacquired via gold on the TP or jorbreakers from the NPC in LA, but the holographic shattered dragon wings cannot be gotten again. Wasn’t sure which you were referring to.
I agree.
I do not believe the designer took into account the repetitive nature of sending mail when selling items on the trading post and how this unnecessary ‘bling’ sound (and quite unnecessarily loud at that) would be undesirable to users.
And here I love the gift mail because my guy grunts repeatedly as he throws my stuff onto the trading post. A loud bing sound is even cooler.
Some of the carrier sounds are not nearly as loud or irksome as others. I rather enjoy the sound of my griffon taking my items away from me. One could expect a whomp and grunt sound with a stack of packages landing, or a firework making noise as it launches your items away. The problem with these bird carriers is that they do not have a bird sound that I can enjoy, it is an unnatural and completely out of place sound that is of an easily annoying volume and quality. It is hard to appreciate a graceful bird swooping in and hauling off my items with this jolting ‘bling’ sound disrupting and ruining the experience.
I realize I am being rather wordy for something as simple as describing a mail carrier animation that many apparently do not even realize happens when you send mail/sell items on the TP, but it is a disruptive and unnecessary aspect of these specific account unlocks for me that I would prefer to be altered or removed without requiring the muting of another element of the game.

I have these mail carriers and will not use them until this noise is greatly reduced or removed altogether. This issue has also made me very wary of purchasing any future mail carriers due to their possibly possessing these undesirable and excessively annoying sounds. (I do not recall if the preview also includes the animation sounds or if it is only of the animation. I’ll need to check on that to see if it is sufficient for avoiding future carriers with annoying sounds)
Just found this linked in another recent topic. This is amazing…and so very saddening.
I cannot come up with any logical reason for their not being available to players. They could even release them as NPC armor packs in the gem store. It’s ridiculous.
(Please do not attack me with “it should be able to be earned in-game and not more gem store armors” comments – there should be more of both, especially considering they’ve completely ditched selling armors in the gem store…which is why they do not get any more money from me)
Could also just open your Windows Clock on your task bar (if using a Windows system) and click the Pacific time zone for where ANet is located. Can then quickly see what time it is there currently and see how many hours away from the beta time it is so you can add that many hours to your current time.
So, hit PDT time zone and see that it is currently 5:45AM there. If it begins at 11:30AM PDT, then you have 5 hours and 45 minutes to go until it starts. Just add that amount of time to your current time where you are.
And if you are in-game, open your options and toggle the in-game clock from local to server time, which is UTC. You can quickly compare your local time to UTC and see how long until it begins.

Very odd indeed, especially with the beta tomorrow/today. With so many people taking screenshots to post around the web, the beta is sure to be associated with low quality and grainy textures.
ArenaNet, perhaps it would be in your best interest to prioritize reverting this nonsensical change in quality before the beta begins to avoid the flood of low quality beta images being posted across social media and many, many gaming websites. I feel you need all the positive responses you can get regarding the expansion and forcing low quality screenshots just before the beta takes place does not seem to be a sound decision.
That’s due to the NPE that also ‘simplified’ tasks.
To water the crops you just interact with the crop…and it magically grows.
To put out the fires you simply interact with the burning hay mounds…and the fire magically goes out.
Picking up a water bucket and dumping it on a crop/burning hay pile was a two-step process. To lessen the complexity of these tasks and avoid confusing players that may become overwhelmed by the need to first pick up water to then dump on said objects, they’ve ‘simplified’ it to now only require the equivalent of waving your hands at them.
Also, the hungry cows are no longer fed hay to satiate their hunger. The NPE also made it so we now only need interact with them to initiate our doing a little dance for them, which magically provides sustenance.
I have had in the last 90 days (Sunday, February 22, 2015 to Saturday, May 23, 2015):
Sell: 9,638 completed
Buy: 153,629 completedThough the last 40 or so days I have backed almost completely off of the TP due to waning interest and lack of things that appeal to me to spend my accrued coin on.
Enko, not sure if this is something you are asking, but you can manually edit the URL where the view=150 is designated and edit that to skip ahead to a much farther page instead of going in groups of 10. Can skip right to 700 and if there are no results, back it up a bit until you find your last page.
That’s what I did to get my 2443 pages that I listed above.
Ah, I see now. Ignore that. I had initially written that out while I was browsing and adding my listings and included it in my thread reply instead of separate with a quote of your topmost comment. Apparently you had left an updated post between your top-most post that my comment was in reference to and when I finally posted my comment. Should have separated my comment from my thread reply.
Don’t forget any laurels. You can trade them for t6 mats
Oh, wow. Good one.
Happy to help. I can’t think of anything else just yet that might be easily overlooked. If I do then I will reply again in case you have not gone yet.
Gems
Not sure if you have any spare gems accrued, but if you have some and have not addressed them, you could convert them to gold or gift items to friends. Didn’t see it listed specifically, so thought I’d note it as something in case it was missed.
Fractal Stuff
Not sure if you ever did fractals, but if you have any relics then I think you can buy agony resistance or other items that are sellable on the TP. I think, anyway.
Badges of Honor
If you have any of this stocked up then you can buy blueprints and sell those on the TP also.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Siege_Master
TP
Double check that you do not have anything listed as selling or buying on the TP or sitting in the pick up tab.

I’m not too big on making characters that are not pleasing to my eye, but I can’t help but look at the ones others make so I’ll definitely be watching the thread (posting here is kind of my way of tracking this thread).
:D
There are also several in this thread that make me cringe.

(I did not necro, by the way. Apparently the thread I responded to got merged into the thread I mentioned above and the OP I was responding to has now replaced the OP of the linked thread…and adopted its posting date of a year ago despite having been made only 30min or so before this response was made…oi)

Can you use the tickets you have to buy 5 skins to sell to get gold for the skin you want?
That would be the best course of action for the OP I would think, if they do not want to wait until the Zodiac skins are re-added to the BL weapon trader.
Purchase 5 of the new Daydreamer weapons and sell them on the TP. Most are going for 90-130G right now, so you could get a decent amount for them and see if it’s enough to buy the one Zodiac weapon skin you wanted to get. Sadly, the Zodiac skins are extremely expensive for the most part. Perhaps the one you wanted to get is one of the cheaper ones (like the pistol or short bow for 300-400G).
EDIT: Anet, please get rid of all those cats. Since when “Hole” is a censured word? “Hole” =/= Kitten.
It isn’t censoring “hole” it is censoring that word plus the letter ‘A’ that you have before it, which is short for a curse word.
Remove the ‘A’ by clicking “Edit Title” below the title of the thread and it won’t be censored any longer.
Regarding the subject of the thread, I do not understand it either. I stopped trying to make sense of pretty much everything they do any longer, sadly.

Started my first character after picking up the game the day it came out. I went with human thief and, after going through the starter mission, I turned and ran up the hill and into Divinity’s Reach. I did not leave for at least 3 days as I wandered the streets in awe at the scale, the sights and the sounds. I really mean it – I did not even venture out into the rest of the game for at least three days and really did spend my in-game time wandering around the city and down the dark alleyways.
Shortly thereafter, I made a sylvari and didn’t leave the Grove and caledon for a couple weeks. Friends (at the time) that I started playing with were all about racing through content and had already explored and ‘map completed’ all the starter areas before I even made it up to the water and Tengu Bridge area of Caledon, let alone knew what map completing even meant.
Here I am still playing completely solo and enjoying content, while they raced and didn’t appreciate anything and ditched to play some other random game after a few weeks. What I find pretty funny (and sad) is, a few of them came back about two months ago and logged in for maybe 3 hours total and combined over 2 days without saying a word. In that short time all they seemed to do is decide to kick me from our guild we had that I had built up on my own after they quit, and then they quit and disappeared again, off to play Warframe or Kerbal or some other random game for one week before jumping to yet another game. It sounds like I may be a bit sour about that, but it’s actually one of my favorite in-game moments; reminded me of how even friends that you know and talk to practically every day in-game and out-of-game for 10 years can suddenly change or disappear altogether, or suddenly change and then disappear.
I still enjoy wandering the streets of DR.
There’s a lot of fun to be had (and re-had) in GW2.
Friendly tip: Go to any crafting table, and click the wardrobe. You will now be able to see all available skins in the game, even those you haven’t unlocked. You can also see their names.
Oeh nice! been playing for quite a while now but didnt know that
Same tab is available at your personal bank as well, not just at crafting tables which also give access to your personal bank.
Yay! new build!
-seems to be fixed, thanks!Go forth, be stealthy, and stab.
thank you for the fix, also best personality ever!
Indeed! Very sharp.
I bet her flute even separates into dual daggers. No one would see it coming!
(I now realize that my comment may come across stalkerish due to noting her fluting ability. I like to put a face to a new name to humanize the posts I see by ANet employees and a quick search succeeded in doing that, as well as revealing her impressive musical abilities.)

That maze is fantastic! I’d love for there to be a maze right there with multiple entrances, as well as having multiple tiers going upward as you got closer to the middle.
If they started adding mazes in different areas of the world that would be great. Instead of doing a jumping puzzle, find your way through mazes which regularly shift around so they are not the same every time. Would certainly occupy a lot of my time and keep me in the game, especially if there was a maze runner title, or some unique skin for doing them all.
Just crashed twice in 5-8 minutes while salvaging with a copper-fed salvage-o-matic. I’m salvaging many items so it may be related to a backing up of the scrolling loot-received items list. However, the first crash was only after salvaging my first 3 items. I’ve sent the crash reports, but thought I would make note of the issue here as well.
Also of note is that I’ve had no crashing issues in my history with playing GW2 since its release, and have made no hardware changes so it is likely related to something from this most recent patch.
Side note: I’d love to be able to turn the loot scroll off.
edit: Four times now.

That’s…impressive.
OP’s screenshot kind of looks like Straits of Devastation.
My guess is attached. I think looking SE from the middle of my circled area.
For those that may be too young to take a mother out to eat, or even those who can not see their mother’s in person today, perhaps call them up on the phone and play a song on an in-game instrument that you composed for them.
Oh, and don’t forget: Increase your chances — sign up for the newsletter!
I have been trying for days, I never get the confirmation mail…
I’m a little hazy on the details, and I may be a little off on some of them, but apparently there is, or was, an issue where a person who was already signed up for the regular GW2 newsletter could not sign up for the HoT newsletter with the same email address.
However, I signed up for the regular GW2 newsletter years ago and never attempted to sign up for the HoT newsletter due to already being up on info released about it and another newsletter would just clog my inbox. Luckily, the GW2 newsletter I signed up for years ago seems to also automatically include me in the HoT newsletter as I receive info about HoT as well.
Also, Gaile has mentioned previously that being signed up for the regular GW2 newsletter still qualifies you for the beta drawings, not just being signed up for the HoT newsletter. That registrants for both versions of the newsletter count in the pool for the beta stress test. It has also been mentioned that the actual upcoming beta will use the newsletter pool in addition to the guaranteed beta entry granted by the item drops.
So, if you are getting any GW2 newsletter from ArenaNet then you already ‘have your name in the hat’, so to speak, and you do not need to register specifically to receive the HoT newsletter.
A quote on the topic I’ve found, will look to include additional relevant ones I find:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Wrong-Day-in-HoT-Closed-Beta-Stress-Test/4906159
For those asking about a confirmation e-mail in relation to a newsletter subscription, I want to mention that I asked our newsletter person about this, and he said that the note indicating that a confirmation mail would be sent was in error. If you signed up for the newsletter, you’re subscribed. If you were previously receiving our GW2 newsletters, you’re subscribed. No confirmation will be sent in relation to an existing or new newsletter subscription.

the thing I’d like is a way to get rid of the red targeting circle after you ctrl+click something.
Esc makes you stop targeting what you were targeting but that red circle remains forever til the thing with the target dies/goes away/goes invisible….and some things that you can target do none of those things and the circle will remain forever til you target something killable.
Another way to get rid of the Call Target symbol is, if you happen to be a ranger, Call Target your pet and then swap it to your alternate pet. This removes the Call Target symbol. I guess it mimics the scenario of Calling a target and then killing it, without having to enter combat. Or if someone else in your party happens to be a ranger, they can do the swapping after the Call Target has been switched to their pet.
Call Target really isn’t designed all that well. :\ If you Call a target, obviously Calling it again should remove the Call on the target. 30 seconds and one short code block addition to the existing Call Target code and they could add that functionality…
the other, other option is to call target on a mini-pet (they don’t show the target above their head) but still a way to just de-target it in the first place would be nice.
Oh, that’s awesome! Thanks for mentioning the minis. I hadn’t even considered them previously. Now I can get rid of the Call Target easily on my non-ranger characters when it gets accidentally activated.

This is not really an ideal solution to the problem, and I fully support your request for something that should have not been left out of the game in the first place, but if you would like me to then I will write you up a quick AutoHotKey script that only works while GW2 is the active window that makes a more ‘ideal’ key of your choice into another ESC key. This way you can run the script along with GW2 and it will make a duplicate ESC key that is close and handy instead of having to stretch all the way across the keyboard to hit the ‘real’ one. I personally use the arrow keys to move, as I do in every single game I have ever played, so I do this for my own gameplay already.
Or if anyone else wants it that cannot write it themselves, feel free to ask me and I’ll send it your way, with or without any AHK installation and key customization instructions.
My interest in HoT, and how much I would pay for it, is dependent upon what it contains and offers for my play style.
New area(s):
How much I would pay is decreased due to not containing something of interest to me.
No new playable species:
It would mean quite a bit of money for ANet from me, and many, many hours of playtime leveling the different characters. By not offering a new species, ANet not only forgoes all of that additional spending, they also decreased my interest in HoT and the likelihood that I’d even purchase it.
Again, how much I would pay is decreased due to not containing something of interest to me.
A new profession:
A new profession does not decrease how much I would pay, but it also certainly does not increase how much I would pay due to the possibility that I may not like it.
A new species guaranteed new ways to play 7 professions that I already know I enjoy playing; a new profession could be hit or miss. If it’s a miss, then I’d feel I made a poor decision spending that money for it. This would then lead to less interest in spending more money on the game or on future ‘expansions’.
Because of the possibility of it being a miss, how much I would pay is decreased due to not wanting to risk spending more for something I am not sure I will enjoy.
The switch to releasing only outfits instead of both armor sets and outfits:
No new armor sets that I can buy and integrate into existing fashions as my characters’ appearances evolve, as well as it being highly unlikely to see any new armor sets in the store in the future due to the 100% switch to only releasing outfits without a single word or a single response in the hundreds of threads on these forums alone, has severely decreased how much I would pay for HoT.
Many other negative changes and nonsensical overhauls of unbroken systems, as well as the lack of effort to decrease the number of actual broken systems and persistent bugs, leads to quite an even higher decrease in how much I would pay. I’ve seen how they conduct themselves with the base game, why should I think it will get better after the ‘expansion’. I do not reward bad undesirable behavior.

are ppl from the first beta automatically in the second, or not? thx for the answer.
I like to know too !
This will make the third time it has posted in this thread. Hope it’s the charm.

This invitation is for this Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns testing event only. This does not guarantee access to future events.
Trogdor, I’m confused. If I was invited to the first beta, am I automatically invited to this one, too? :P

If you are looking for pics of armor skins, especially in mix-n-match combinations, you should check out this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Post-a-pic-of-your-character-only-if-your-armor-is-mix-n-match
Outfits are banned from that thread due to not being able to mix-n-match and every single one being identical other than how they are dyed. Check it out if you want to see some very creative combinations of different armor skins and dye schemes.
Impressive.
Most impressive.
Thank You very much Sir! This saved my day!
I love how it stills there are nice ppl in virtual world.
As for the others saying “just use another button for dodge” , i play this game since beta, and use dodge on mid mouse button, even with a mouse with many other buttons, for me, it doesnt work well as in the mid button… i am sucessful in pvp this way, so im not changing, also, the other buttons already have its binds.
Thank you and gg all.
Very glad to hear it works as you desire it to. You’re quite welcome.
If you wanted to remove the task of having to launch the script and GW2 separately, you can also look into creating a shortcut that launches both the script and GW2. May help in the future if you run into some instances where you forget to launch the script and have to tab out of GW2 later on to launch it. I tend to do that sometimes myself, but do not forget frequently enough to put forth the effort to make the dual launch shortcut.
Happy gaming!
Here is one way, though I am sure there are better alternatives to having to run this rebind script prior to each play session:
#NoEnv
#SingleInstance Force
SetTitleMatchMode, 3
#IfWinActive, Guild Wars 2; “F1” is the customizable key used to toggle normal scroll wheel functions on and off
F1::Suspend
WheelDown::return
WheelUp::return
So:
Executing the script unbinds mouse wheel up/down functionality in GW2
Pressing F1 disables the script so they work normally again
Pressing F1 again re-enables the script so the scroll wheel up/down functionality is disabled again
You can find all of the different key names you can use to replace F1 here: https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm

Wait, I bought a gaming mouse that has a button next to my left click that acts as a double-left click (no software beyond the mouse driver needed). Is it a bannable offense to use that to open a stack of 250 bags (only 250 clicks instead of 500) then? That’s a stupid reason to be banned if it is.
PS, I had no idea this was a feature on the mouse. I only discovered it because it wasn’t registering as a button when I tried to turn it into a skill key. So I exited the program and decided to try clicking some shortcuts on my desktop- low and behold it was one click opening instead of the two clicks I have my system set up to. Tested it in game on a bag, same thing.
My Red Dragon Perdition has the red “Fire” button to the left of the left mouse button. The default software configuration had it set to be a double left-click action. I quickly rebound this to be a single left-click (to use it on intense clicking to save my ‘real’ left mouse button) as hitting that one button to perform what would be two actions is a bannable offense.
If you have been using it as a double-click then I think you should consider yourself lucky to have gotten by without a ban so far.
I highly recommend changing that button to be single click only, or be extra careful to never use the double-click action of it while playing GW2.
As an alternative for rebinding the scroll wheel, I’ve heard of some people binding a key on their keyboard to be Mouse 1. Due to the ‘repeating’ nature of keyboard keys, they can jack the repeat speed up real high and just hold down that one key to eat a whole stack in seconds. I am not sure if this is considered bannable or not as you technically are not pressing a single key to perform a single action. But holding down the ‘t’ key spams a row of the letter ‘t’ into the chat box without having to press/release/press/release/etc to type the same letter repeatedly. Because of this common function of keyboard letters naturally repeating upon being held down, I do not think making a keyboard key to act as Mouse 1 to practically insta-eat a stack is bannable. Each repeating activation would type the letter or single click the left mouse button – sounds like the exact same thing to me.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Mine is still working fine. I use AHK and a simple script to rebind scroll down to be mouse 1 and activate the rebind script when I need to chew through some stacks. Single tick is a single activation, so it takes two ‘ticks’ of the mouse wheel to consume an item due to requiring a double ‘click’ to use an item. I can chew through as fast as I am able to scroll instead of as fast as I am able to click the left mouse button.
#NoEnv
#SingleInstance Force
SetTitleMatchMode, 3
#IfWinActive, Guild Wars 2
MButton::
WheelDown::Click left
Now, making the action to be a double click instead of a single click would be bannable as that would then be two commands performed from a single action or ‘key’ stroke.

Male norn are all eyesores that look like they jumped straight out of Gears of War even with selecting the least bulky frame.
Not much can be done other than choosing another species.
I suggest sylvari – we glow
edit:
I must note that I do realize GoW came out way after GW1 which had norn…but norn did not look like bloated meat sacks in GW1 like they do in GW2 (which seems to have been influenced by GoW, sadly).

The first outfit I’ve actually considered putting my outfit ban (due to lack of armors being released) on hold and buying.
Unfortunately, due to the horrible “preview” in the gem store, I needed to preview it via the bank wardrobe. Sadly, I discovered that it is not there to preview so I could not even look at it with custom dye schemes without consulting an out-of-game source to get the chatcode.
Even if I were inclined to search out this chatcode to preview it, the gem store preview saved me from making that effort and was useful in that it showed me the horrible tattered butt cape that killed any interest I had in getting it.
Pros:
Cons:
Not buying. Thanks anyway.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
[…]
Unfortunately, I never bought these back when they were in store for the pure fact they were town only. I’m not a fan of sitting around in town doing jack all. They were useless to me then and now they’re an armor skin, they are 100% useful to me and I want.
This statement mirrors my reasons for not getting them back then and why my interest in them changed to desiring them to made available again now.
I wasn’t aware that the achievment stopped giving points after so many times of completing it.
If it is able to be repeated infititly, then shouldn’t it give points infinitly as well?
Unless I’m missing something, but I don’t ever recall seeing anywhere that it stopped giving points after a cerain number has been reached.
You must have missed the early days, when some created threads showing 25,000 AP, almost exclusively from Entropy (most players had less than 5000 at that time, I believe).
That’s why it was capped, and the AP obtained rolled back. You can read about the cap on Entropy in the Wiki (link above).
Good luck.
To which link are you referring?
I’ve now added the direct wiki link to Tradesman into my OP to help out for those interested in reading up on Entropy and related achievements quickly.
341 on agent of entropy, but don’t forget, it starts with Salvage Master so you gotta add 500 to your total as well.
68,721 total items salvaged.3375.5 hours 947 days.
Oh that’s a great bit of info I had not realized. Thanks for sharing that. I’ll add that info to the OP as well now.
Thank you all very much for your great posts.
I’ll re-add my image now that it seems my count is far below what some others are now posting. In the early minutes of creating the thread there was some unwanted attention from the bad kind of forum-goers and it seemed like a better idea to remove my count until more people made their comments showing their amounts.
I’m loving the wide range of numbers (played and salvaged) being shared. Thank you!
I’m strictly an Open World PvE player, so I cannot help out with PvP related queries, but if you ever have any questions or just want to yack away about the beautiful world (or awesome armor combos), feel free to add me to your contacts and message me any time you see me online.
Welcome to Tyria!
I would also like to strongly recommend browsing this thread from the ‘Players Helping Players’ sub-forum as you find time. There are plenty of helpful tips and quite a bit of general information on the game found in it. Some of the info in the first post is a bit outdated and does not reflect the changes that have happened to the game over time, but it is all good food for thought.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OMG-If-you-only-knew-this-tips-for-new-players
It is mentioned in that thread, but take note that you can always wiki anything at all in the game by typing this in your chat box: /wiki blah blah
Of course, ‘blah blah’ would be what you are interested in learning about. It will open your web browser to the wiki and auto-search for what you entered for it to search for in the chat box.
Also, you can shift+left click items to link them in chat. Combining the /wiki and linking items is a real quick way to search for info on a particular item.
Have fun!

Trying to remember from last year, did the Fool’s day event trigger on the night of the 31st or just on 4/1?
Curious since its also a normal patch day this year. And yes looking forward to any skulduggery they might send our way.
Searching the forums via google, I have found a thread commenting on last year’s April Fools that was made on March 31st, at 23:23 (11:23pm) Eastern Time.
So it seems that last year the bobblehead went into effect prior to midnight in Eastern time.

There may be other threads commenting on the bobble heads prior to this, but this thread at least shows that it did become active prior to midnight Eastern.
you are evil sylvari
I’m not sure I understand why I deserve such a remark, but…thank you? :P
I’d love to be an evil sylvari. I mean, actually evil in-game instead of pretending my goody-goody sylvari in-game is actually evil in my head.
Trying to remember from last year, did the Fool’s day event trigger on the night of the 31st or just on 4/1?
Curious since its also a normal patch day this year. And yes looking forward to any skulduggery they might send our way.
