Here's how to fix WvW

in WvW

Posted by: Teon.5168

Teon.5168

There’s lots of other stuff, but most of it has already been suggested in the forums. Little things that make a difference. This post is mostly to get stuff off my mind, and to let people realize that YOU SHOULDN’T PATCH SOMETHING THAT’S BROKEN. REBUILD IT. That’s what most of the existing forum posts are doing. Offering suggestions to patch something that needs to be scrapped. You have to start from scratch.

If all mmos followed your suggestion, no mmo would ever make it to market.

I agree, wvw does need some fixes, but it doesn’t need an entire rework. As you already said, that will never happen, especially since wvw isn’t the main aspect of this game. I am hoping to see some fixes down the road to make wvw a bit more interesting. But an entire redo? Come on, be realistic.

Greater penalties for Death

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I, for one, am so thankful that a poster has taken the important time from his/her day to tell us all why death penalties are important to game structure, player ability and confidence, and general player attitude and skill.

Who knew there was a player psychology profile that benefits from harsher death penalties. And who knew that sweeping generalizations and assumptions about game health, player skill, and challenging content could all be related to harsher death penalties.

I wonder if one can go to school to achieve such an in depth understanding of mmo player psychology/skill as it relates to death penalties and/or the absence of them?

Your experience: Gold BB turnaround time.

in Festival of the Four Winds

Teon.5168

Getting into really fast and organized gold bbs is definitely a hit and miss proposition. I have had a few times when I have lucked out and gotten into a gold run that did several gold runs consecutively with about 10 minutes total time from run to run, including donations. But that is a definite exception to the rule. As others have posted here, you spend most of your time just trying to get into an organized pavillion. Not to mention all the bogus ‘taxi to gold bb run’ groups that you have to weed through before you actually find one that really is in a gold run pavillion.

I have also been in gold bbs that have taken almost as long as bronze runs because of the time between runs donating to the gold-o-tron took so long.

My best time on gold bbs is what I posted above…..about 10 minutes total from run to run…..but that night was ideal.

Still waiting for end game content

Sounds like the solution is simple for you. Play GW1.

There are a few of us who would LOVE to go back to GW1, but guess what? GW1 hasn’t had ANYTHING new in years because of THIS GAME. I’ve done literally everything in GW1 multiple times, just how I’m guessing many of the people who want some GW1 aspects in GW2 have also done everything a bunch.

That doesn’t mean I don’t completely love GW2, because I do. The base gameplay is perfect IMO, but what it lacks is new stuff. 2 years of doing the same stuff over and over again? Yep gets boring. I have some hope(see nearly zero) that the LS2 will give us new content to play, including more end game stuff like dungeons, Competitive missions, 8-12 man Elite missions like The Deep and Urgoz, and something that would literally make me throw money at my computer screen, UW and FoW.

I must be playing a different game than you have been playing. In the last 2 years, there has been plenty of new stuff in GW2 to satisfy me.

But then again, I only play an average of 10-15 hours a week(if that). Maybe you play a lot more than I do. I will admit that if I played 30-40 hours a week or more, I would get bored with the game, too…….but if I played that much, that would be the case with any game, not just GW2.

I have been saying for a while that Gw1 high level content is rewarding.

Hence you could conclude that something rewarding for me would be similar to the reward we could get in Gw1.

First of all, I could repeat that content as much as I wanted to get my rewards.

Secondly, the end chest reward was useful toward something (high end armor in terms of cosmetics)

And also you should note that the progression was almost strictly horizontal in gw1.

But in Gw2, is it vertical or horizontal? I don’t know. And is the content rewarding and useful toward something? Well not really.

Sounds like the solution is simple for you. Play GW1.

Honestly If I ever meet in person the responsible for the Liadri fight design I going to kick him/her in the most sensitive spot. And then I’m going to drop a piano over him/her.

Might I suggest a break from the game? When a game frustrates the heck out of you, it’s time to just give it a rest, as the game is supposed to be about having fun.

Anyway I still stand by my statement if there is never a risk there will never be a reward and content difficulty is all the same because there is no risk.

I am very happy with ’no risk" thank you very much. (and I die ALOT.)

You want it to be more challenging, then make it more challenging for yourself. Leave us players who are happy with the game out of your ‘improvements’.

Right there with ya, Taygus! Completely agree!

I always chuckle anyways when someone talks about “risk” when speaking of a video game….lol. There is no actual ‘risk’ in a video game…..maybe you have to spend a few more hours to do a certain ‘risky’ thing that then gives you a ‘cool, flashy’ reward. But it’s always the same formula…… dumping more hours into the time sink than others might be willing to do.

GW2, overall, is good fun to me…its a very nice, entertaining diversion from real life…..I can spend a ton of hours playing it when I feel like it, or I can play it for a little bit and still leave with a smile on my face.

That’s my reward. I smile. I laugh. I am entertained. That’s all I want from an online game anymore. I could care less about your supposed ‘risk’ in game…..especially when there are tons of other games out there that have the sort of ‘challenge’ that you want. It’s nice to finally have a good mmorpg that seems to be geared more toward the casual sort of player. (while still having some tougher content in it when I want to act like a pseudo-hardcore player….lol)

Greater penalties for Death

Here’s an idea, Fafnir……since you want death to be a substantial penalty……everytime your character dies……go give 1 gold to some random player passing by. That way you’ll be happy because death will cost you something, and those of us who like no penalties for death will also still be happy.

Altho, that iron man challenge a few posts up sounds like that would suit you best.

Why?

Teon.5168

1. Because I’m a paying customer and I want to enjoy the game.
2. Because they released an awesome game with loads of content, turned around and said, we’re not going add content like this. Instead we’re given achievements. No depth is being added.
3. Why don’t want mounts? What about riding on a horse, moa, asura is unattractive to you?
4. Because they’re failing at adding of serious import. In the last year, we’ve been given one new zone. I want you to look at what other MMOs add in their patches and tell me if this game compares. It doesn’t.
5. Because previous games set standards and convention that should be followed. You shouldn’t remove basic roleplaying functionality. You shouldn’t remove role specialization. You shouldn’t remove larger group content. They didn’t build upon the lessons learned in Guild Wars 1.
6. You can either swim in a pool or have a backyard filled with glasses of water of an equivalent amount.

Nevermind……Wizzey’s post above summed it up much better than I did.

Afk Plague in the Pavillon

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: Teon.5168

Teon.5168

Something I think that they could do that would help is have auto attack turn off after say 20-30s of inactivity. If you’re not using other skills it’ll turn off. That way they can’t walk away and continue to attack for minutes. At least that’d prevent these people from killing mobs before the map is ready to kill them all.

If you do use other skills have it continue to keep AA engaged.

Now, there’s a good simple solution. I think having a timer on the autoattack option is a great idea. That would take care of a lot of afking.

Afk Plague in the Pavillon

Teon.5168

Another thing to do is tweak the rewards algorithms so that afk autoattacking doesn’t do enough DPS to get rewards. It’ll be fine for people who actually use their skills.

I will ask again. How could this be programmed where it wouldn’t also hurt an active player…….say, someone who is actively helping take down a boss and needs to run to the bathroom quick…..comes back and suddenly their rewards have been diminished because of some ‘auto attack afk’ algorithm that magically determines they were an afker.

What you’re suggesting would be near impossible to program without creating more problems than it fixes, imo.

I am not trying to be combative about this idea…..I just don’t see how it could be done. Programmers can’t just whip some nifty algorithm up that will be able to tell when someone is actually afk, or going to the bathroom, or getting a drink, or talking to a guildie or friend while battling…….would we all have to keep stop watches running so as to make sure that we don’t stand in one spot autoattacking for more than 5 or 10 or 20 seconds?

I just think it’s unreasonable to think that some game programmer can make this problem disappear by writing some sort of wondrous code.

I feel that it is just something that the players have to deal with as best they can.

And, as I have said before….if an afker doesn’t mess up a gold run, I really don’t care if that player gets the same reward that I get. It doesn’t hurt me at all if that afker gets the same reward that I get, imo…..as that afker hasn’t taken anything away from me.

If someone actually knows what they’re doing, I don’t think it’s terrible for them to come burst the boss down a little and then leave. Problem is, majority of the people that do this don’t know what they’re doing, and do end up dragging 10 mobs over to your group and possibly wiping you because of it. Happened to me twice in a row today despite repeated warnings before each round.

It’s just better to tell people not to do this, because while the smart people know how to avoid any conflicts with your group, there’s a hell of a lot more people that can lose you a gold run by causing any number of problems while “helping.”

As for AFKers, I’m not really sure what could be done about them. People who just sit there autoattacking all the time though really kitten you over at Sparc if their auto-attack is a projectile.

Can’t tell you how many eles have killed at least one person doing Sparc because they’re semi (or fully) AFK auto-attacking, spreading lovely stacks of vulnerability, AoE damage, or bleeds on your group. Or just refuse to read when people tell them beforehand to not throw projectiles at his shield.

Scepter for ele on sparcus is nice, ranged but not projectile for fire/air attuenment. Just a fyi

Aye, completely agree. That’s what I go with for my ele, and it works great and doesn’t draw any aggro, and leaves me available to help rez when needed.

My experience trying boss blitz

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: Teon.5168

Teon.5168

Donate to ho-ho tron

Wait an hour for donations to finish

go to fight some bosses!

Only 5 of us go. Whatever, that should be enough.

We down 2 bosses. Then everyone leaves.

I can’t get anyone else to fight anything.

Then I gave up.

I have been in the boss blitz quite a few times, now, and have never encountered it taking anywhere close to an hour for the gold-o-tron to be filled. If it’s taking more than 20 minutes or so, that should be a clue to you that it’s time to get out of that pavillion and get into another, more active boss blitz.

And I realize that that is not always possible. There have been a few times when I have gotten on late, Pacific time, and there just aren’t the people in the boss blitz to accomplish much of anything……that’s when you give it a rest and try some other time.

If you’re only getting 5 to do a boss blitz, then you’re in the wrong pavillion instance.

As for AFKers… there’s very little possibility that they are contributing their fair share of DPS. Anet should have designed (or tweaked after release) the bosses so that AFK autoattacking simply won’t work.

As has been asked already in this discussion, how would Anet accomplish this without also penalizing active players?

I just don’t think some of you even begin to realize how difficult a thing this would be to program so that it worked in a consistent fashion for all players.

That’s not saying that I don’t like the idea. Just that I think it would be near impossible to accomplish in a reliable manner.

Not really an issue anymore, after the patch. After things go bronze, boom boom’s healing turrets disappear, and the boss mobs put out less damage and take more damage. Makes the bronze runs somewhat tolerable now, as they don’t take near as long as they used to, even with a zerg doing each boss one at a time.

I was in a gold bb run last night(5 successful in a row before I left to take a break….a guildie told me it continued on for several more gold runs after I left)……and we had some afk’ers, but not that many to make a difference. The runs were well coordinated and quick, with all the bosses going down within a few seconds of each other.

But I did notice one thing, a few people said nicely in map chat " if you’re going to afk the bb, please hit your boss a few times and then return to the center….that way you’ll still get the reward while not scaling up the bosses and hurting the gold chances"….and that seemed to work quite well with most of the afkers.

Most of the people there seemed to have no problem with them getting the rewards like everyone else did, just as long as they were decent enough not to hang out afk at the boss and risk scaling it up. Asking them nicely, instead of saying ‘gtfo’ seemed to work well. (Of course, there were a couple people in the map saying ‘gtfo’…lol…but the majority were asking nicely.)

And I was there with my 72 ele,(which I got to 75 during the runs) and noone seemed to have a problem with me as I was trying very hard to help kill the boss, using single target dps and not aoe, rezzing others, and not sitting around waiting for a rez(pop back to the center, repair, and then quickly run back out to the same group I was in).

Having a prerequisite for the runs would be a mistake, imo…..as long as everyone gets the reward, who cares what moochers get? If they want to play like that, fine…..they paid their money for the game. (As long as they don’t intentionally try to screw it up for others…..I do have a problem with griefers)

Now, on the other hand, before the gold runs, I was in a pavillion that was horribly disorganized, zerg running one boss at a time, bronze every time….it was just hopeless chaos. And during those runs, a lot of people were going afk…….but I think that was mainly because most there knew that there was no chance at silver or gold…so why even give a hoot about the afkers….it made no sense to let it bother anyone.

Edit: Am also wondering, if once the raid gets to bronze, if the rest of the bosses taking more damage and dealing less damage will enable small teams of 3-4 players to run around and effectively take down some of the bosses that the zerg hasn’t engaged, yet. Will have to give it a try tonight and see what it is like.

small teams of between 4-6 could already take down the bosses without the zerg >.>

3 levels on 40-50minutes of gold run play. level 62-65

Oh yea, I know…(have done that a few times when I was fortunate enough to get into a gold run)……but am wondering when the bosses damage drops in the bronze runs….just how small groups will be able to be to take down a boss.

Don’t get me wrong, gold runs are much more preferable, imo, and I realize the leveling is a ton faster than bronze runs……but they’re very difficult to get into when playing late(after 9:30-10pm pacific time) on the west coast. Sometimes one has no choice but to get into the disorganized bronze runs

Thats the thing though.
all anet is doing here, is encouraging disorganisation…. rather than those bronze runs.. going well there’s 50 of us here on one boss..why dont some of us split off….
..
now people will be like "well, gold run aint that much better, lets just zerg, because I dont want to communicate. " ..even though its still better.

so i don’t know. I’m not a fan of this change.

So, the night after the patch, I went and took part in some bb bronze runs. While they’re a bit easier and don’t last near so long, they have not been sped up enough to where people would want to farm bronze runs. So, I think this change will work just fine for the bb….at least from what I have seen.

And then, last night, I stumbled into a gold bb pavillion…..took part in 5 gold runs in a row(and they were still going when I left…needed a break)…..wow, what a pleasure! The runs are quite fun when you get into well organized gold bbs. Got my ele 3 levels(72-75) in that short amount of time.

I’ve encourage a few pug organised runs.
about50% of the time it works.

The other 50% of the time, is what I base my assumption on. The comments and attitude and then lack of chat…is why assume organising a bronze run into a silver or gold…is going to be much harder.. because less people will care about it.

I hope to be wrong truly. I do love encouraging a zerg to split off and changing up a bronze to a gold run. It’s great. but the fact that it only happens 50% of the time. I can only assume it’ll be less now.

__
On the upscaling, thats a different issue. The lack of traits really affects upsclaed players, something anet doesnt seem to have looked into.
However.. it’s better to split 25 players into 2 or 3 teams, and take down the bosses like that. As its still quicker, even if you’re already in bronze. I assume it will STILL be quicker, like that, even with these changes. but I worry less players will care.

Last night, after the first bronze run, I was getting bored, so actually tried something a little different than trying to encourage people to split off from the zerg in map chat.

I found one of the bosses that wasn’t being engaged, and went down to the area solo and just started blasting away at him. Of course, I died several times, even while trying my best to survive……but I just kept coming back……of course, it got the crossed swords up on the map, and sure enough, after around 5 or so minutes, another 6 or 7 players showed up and we all started engaging the boss and taking him down…..so that method seems to work, too.

(I know this isn’t any sort of ‘new’ method….but was the first time I tried it on my own when a zerg was taking another boss)

I hope you’re not right, but you very well may be. This certainly could encourage more bronze runs. I sure hope not, as I really enjoy the good gold runs…..nothing like 6 small pugs working like a well oiled machine and communicating and coordinating to knock off 6 bosses all at the same time and in a short amount of time.

Last night, there was only around 25 or so in the zerg for both bronze runs, with a huge spread on player levels. So even if it could have gotten organized, I doubt if it could have done a silver or gold run….just too many lower levels.

I usually try to play around 5-7pm pacific time when I want to get into a bb gold run…..but there are a lot of times during the week where that just isn’t possible…..hence the late bronze runs that I just do for xp when I am in a lazy mood.

Oh yea, I know…(have done that a few times when I was fortunate enough to get into a gold run)……but am wondering when the bosses damage drops in the bronze runs….just how small groups will be able to be to take down a boss.

3 levels on 40-50minutes of gold run play. level 62-65

Don’t get me wrong, gold runs are much more preferable, imo, and I realize the leveling is a ton faster than bronze runs……but they can be very difficult to get into when playing late(after 9:30-10pm pacific time) on the west coast. Sometimes one has no choice but to get into the disorganized bronze runs

2-4 extra champ bags is hardly considered even close to significantly better. If anything the changes made bronze even more profitable now. Zerging/farming each boss individually plus the event rewards for the blitz itself gives quite a large amount of karma for not much work, and now bronze rounds will take like said above probably half the time as before. Even more karma can be earned in a smaller time. This will also help for those wanting to lvl their low toons being able to defeat a boss faster for more event rewards and not be as harmful to the overall group being a low lvl.

Personally, I find these changes great, it is a good way to appease both groups. Those that want to organize and go for gold still can, nothing has changed for that. Now though, those that would rather zerg each boss and not be penalized for their prefered choice of game play can do so. Honestly zerging a bronze was more profitable to begin with over gold, karma exchanges into some serious gold.

I suppose I should have said “significant” in relationship to both the overall reward and time commitment, as gold and silver runs were a lot quicker than most bronze runs.

But you’re right…..this will now change. People will still run gold and silver runs, but bronze is also farmable now, too. Last night I was doing bronze runs on one of my 60+ characters, just to see what sort of xp I would get. Ended up getting around 2 levels in around 75 minutes or so of bronze play…..not bad, but not something I would do on a regular basis…lol. But with the new changes, I would imagine that 2 levels will now take around 30 or so minutes, which is definitely worth it.

Will be interesting to see how it changes things in the boss blitz.

Those are some excellent points, Andred & lordkrall. The game is intended for a predominantly teenaged audience, and so the writing does reflect that most of the time.
One can see that it appeals largely to a young teenaged to young adult type of crowd…..spend any length of time in map chat for a boss mob in PvE or in map chat in PvP, and it becomes very obvious that a very large portion of those playing are in the junior high/middle/high school age range.

Plus, the fact, as lordkrall pointed out…..that it has a teen rating on the game.

So obviously, Anet has aimed their writing at this sort of age group, as that will sell the most games.

So you both make a very valid point that maybe older players shouldn’t expect too much in the writing, because of the audience that it is intended for.

Reminds me of when I read The Hunger Games trilogy several years ago. Decent books, but could have been so much better. Mainly due to the fact that the series was intended for a young teenager crowd, so the writing of the books was very clunky and simplistic at times….which ended up disappointing me at the end of the 3rd book, as it became very simplistic and shallow. Was mainly because I expected too much from the trilogy, not realizing off the bat what sort of crowd it was largely intended for.

Of course, what does this say about those of us who are a lot older and enjoy the game? Do we have simplistic minds? Or are we just enjoying a game that makes us feel younger and helps us to forget our real life hassles?

Or maybe it’s just nostalgia for a lot of us older players, as many of us started playing muds in the ’80s and ’90s.

  • Good: it would facilitate cleaning maps for proper runs.
  • Good: it makes sense but it is not as radical as letting the timer run out to give out rewards for easy leeching.
  • Bad: it may still turn out too easy so people start to AFK and sabotage the gold/silver tries for easy bronze reward.

The “bad:” doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, as the silver and gold drops are significantly better than bronze. But, then again, it has never made sense to me why it is like herding cats to get people to do proper gold/silver runs….you would think players would want to do the runs quickly and effectively for the highest rewards…..but apparently not, as is proven if one spends any amount of time in the pavillion.

So you’re probably correct on your “bad:” one, unfortunately.

From the patch notes:

“Boom-Boom Baines’s Healing Turret no longer spawns once the bronze tier of the Boss Blitz has been reached.
The champions in the Boss Blitz have grown weary of fighting players for extended durations. Once the bronze tier of the Boss Blitz has been achieved, they will begin taking increased damage and deal reduced damage.”

While this won’t fix the boss blitz, it is a step in the right direction. I was in a couple bronze raids last night, and they just took forever. These fixes will greatly speed up the bronze runs…probably cut the time in half, I bet. Might actually make bronze runs worth it.

It will certainly change the strategy on some of the bronze runs. Boom boom will now be taken last in hopes that the healing turrets are gone by the time the zerg gets to her.

In any case, while it’s not an ideal fix….it WILL help speed up the bronze runs significantly…..and that’s a good thing, imo.

How long does it take you to find gold BB?

in Festival of the Four Winds

Teon.5168

I have noticed lately that it is almost impossible to get into a gold run anymore. Even if you use the lfg gold boss blitz tag, most of the time you’ll get pulled into a map that is nowhere close to running a gold bb run.

And yea, I have also seen the ridiculous “tips welcome”, or 1-2g required for taxi garbage.

Fortunately, I got the AP for this a couple weeks back, so I don’t need to run it anymore.

But that still doesn’t make it any better for those that are still trying to run it.

I definitely think this is one of those Anet ideas that just didn’t turn out how they thought it would. A good one to mark on the drawing board…’don’t try this again’.

While I thought it showed promise at first, and I got my AP when things were still going somewhat good for gold runs…….the pavillion has devolved into a chaotic mess., and a huge time sink for those who still need/want it.

Why the Guild Wars 2 Internet Hate?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Teon.5168

Teon.5168

Most of the GW2 hate is due to extremely poor post-launch development. We still have incredibly unbalanced builds/classes that seemingly get worse the few times a year they actually try and balance. The entire class system is built on extremely flawed components(conditions, stats, formulas, etc) Temporary content is fine when endgame foundations are solid, but GW2 endgame has NEVER been solid. Dungeons were never in a good place either(the fact that the “3” paths more often than not, feature the same areas with slightly different bosses is weak). Of course we can’t the almost complete reversal of everything they said pre-launch(manifesto, conventions, interviews, etc).

People expected ArenaNet to build on GW2 and in almost 2 years they still really haven’t done that. The things they have added are either disjointed, temporary, or purely flavor.

You could take this exact post, insert almost any mmo game name and/or company name in place of GW2 and Anet, and see this post on almost any mmo forum out there.

Living Story Season 2 is a Big Mistake...

Teon.5168

Before saying something’s a mistake, why not wait and see how it turns out?

These kinds of conversations are important to have in the community since it helps the Developers see what direction the game is going and how their community reacts to their development.

It’s very beneficial for ArenaNet as a company to know were their customers/players are coming from as well as how they can improve or learn from their past mistakes to succeed in making fun and enjoyable contents that expands.

We’ll see what happens but that doesnt mean we cant discuss about it.

Please explain how it is beneficial to Anet devs when all the conversation concerning the upcoming LS2 is just speculation, and nothing more?

After all, it has not even been released, yet, so none of us have any idea what it will be like. How is that sort of far fetched assuming and speculation and rumor milling even slightly beneficial to Anet devs, or anyone else, for that matter????

Sure, it’s fine to discuss and speculate about it, but don’t be so naive to think that the devs will pay any attention to any of these comments until AFTER LS2 has been released.

I miss the Festivals in GW1

Easy solution. Go play GW1 if you miss it that much.

That’s what I do when I miss DaoC.

Or better solution, try to get gw2 improved.

I remember very fondly of all the holidays. I remember on halloween we had simon says with MKT, who was also written better, with all those silly consumables, who could ever forget the ghost in a box. I remember wintersday when we had to travel the map to make freezie, and then the snowball fight was amazing, and the snowball quests, both the defense one and attack ones were a lot of fun, attacking being more challenging, and even near the end of gw1 being updated the balthazar vs melandru was really cool. as well as the god participation. I remember during american thanksgiving having the pies and april fools, and the golden eggs on easter that counted as rare drops, and of course the obvious canthan new year with the 2 of the best things: Rollerbeetle racing, and real Dragon Arena, and the wurm collecting mini game was really cool too, never cared for the nine rings actually, but the minis that came along, the celestial ____ I loved the way they were done.

Another few things that were added near the end of gw1 being updated was the nostalgia of going back to places I had almost forgotten about to get the hound of balthazar ranger pet and then rollerbeetle racing to get a rollerbeetle pet. they were so great.

Trying to get GW2 more like GW1 is not my idea of “improving” it.

Gw1 had tons of great ideas and many better implemented systems, it still had rng but it wasn’t bad. If they took more of the good from GW1, the game would be much better.

That’s your opinion. I like most of what Anet has done with GW2. I would not enjoy an update/rehash of GW1. If I wanted to play GW1, I would be playing GW1.

Besides that, I seem to recall the devs stating that GW2 was not going to be GW1 updated when GW2 was about to be released. Sorry that you wanted an updated GW1……obviously, GW2 is not that game.

Ok, so you’re suggesting we revert the wardrobe? Why stop there, let’s remove all festivals, let’s get rid of mesmer, necro, warrior, ranger, and ele too.
kitten , use your brain. GW1 had many good ideas, and if you’re going to just blindly dismiss that, what are you doing on the forums? By asking for improvements, that were in the previous game, isn’t asking for it to be a rehash of gw1, it’s asking for them to take a step back and think if it’s the right direction.

Like I said before…..that’s your opinion, not mine. /shrug

And I like how you have read so much more into my posts than was ever written. Where did I say anything about wardrobes, deleting characters, etc?? You must be clairvoyant, to magically pull so much from my posts.

You read into my posts, I bs read into yours. the wardrobe was how the gw1 costumes worked, you could have as many of them for your entire account, there were many features that made it from that game, because you didn’t know and didn’t get my post.

I will try harder.

I have already seen GW2 take more of the good things from other mmos, and fix or not use bad elements of other games. If what you’re asking is for them to just incorporate some nice things from GW1, as well as other mmos, then I am all for that…..at least to a certain extent. Not to the point where it would change the current identity of this game.

jmo, of course.

Oh yea, and thanks for getting in game and whispering to me that I am a kitten…….certainly very adult of you, Bitterbur…….. lol……..

Have a nice day, anyways!

Why the Guild Wars 2 Internet Hate?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Teon.5168

Teon.5168

As others here have said, mmo forums generally consist of people with complaints about the game, and/or just haters of the game. Most people who enjoy mmos rarely come to the game’s forum, unless they’re looking for specific tips on a certain part of the game.

The GW2 forums are not unique in the hatred/complaints. It’s just the nature of most mmo forums.

The GW2 reddit forums are an exception, as they are usually quite civil, with quite a few posters that actually enjoy the game. Proof of that is that most of the haters here call the gw2 reddit forum, the ‘fanboy’ forum, even though it does have some extremely useful info and constructive criticism discussions on the game.

I think Anet should release a whole bunch of temporary content in LS2, but call it “permanent” content………just to mess with the heads of a lot of the posters in this forum.

After all, they’ll never be happy with the game no matter what Anet delivers…..so might as well have some fun with ’em.

I am looking forward to LS2…….hopefully it will deliver some new areas to explore, some more fun events and story twists, and maybe some more content that steers away from mindless zerging.

Love the Boss Blitz!

I don’t know why people say that the Boss Blitz is a challenge.

It’s a challenge only for the one who organize the run. Coordinating the groups and all.

But for the regular player not so much.

Grabbing and throwing seeds. Not DPSing when you’re not supposed to DPS. Killing the turret when spawn. Evading bad stuff. Hardly a challenge.

Agreed. But you would be surprised at how many players, through their actions, seem to have a serious problem/challenge with doing the things that you list. Fortunately, they’re not in the majority.

And completely agree with your second sentence…..that is the real challenge to doing a successful gold run.
