Could you nerf FGS mobility while buffing mobility in our weapon sets? the only mobility in all of our weapon sets is Burning speed, RTL, and maybe one more skill that i cant think of at the moment. I am an ele who runs focus a lot along side with scepter, usually D/F or S/D sometimes a condimentalist S/F. I can tell you our mobility is really bad in our weapon sets. I really do enjoy this game though, and I love all the new things you guys have been doing with Ele such as Fresh air and staff improvements. Thanks

Roamers are MUCH More Valuable Than Zergers

Roamers are pretty well irrelevant. That’s because on the whole, camps, dolyaks and sentries are of very, very minor importance. Even towers are generally unimportant strategically (with one or two exceptions)

The battle is largely over who holds the keeps and the strategic towers and because of the way the game is structured, there’s little point in worrying too much about upgrading anything else. Very often (in fact, usually) the battle will roll over a structure, cap it and leave. The only value of supply camps and most towers is as a source of siege equipment supply.

The idea of ‘cutting off supply’ as a game mechanic has failed because camps are so vulnerable. They can be switched back-and-forth at any moment by minor forces. The only real obstacle being the buff timer.

a total of 360 points exist from all the camps and towers alone. you mean to tell us that if a server held and owned all the camps and towers but no keeps that you wouldnt have the majority of all the points?

Umm i was part of the grp that took Hills and i can state 100% the gate was rammed down and the fighting lasted for about 30 mins before it was taken, unlike what happend earlier at bay on our bl….

What exactly happenned earlier at bay? and i have a screenshot, LoL!!!! wheres yours, assuming it is also an accusation of gate glitching.

11k damage on my ele is not a rare thing while using S/D 30/30/0/10 build, I also have almost permanent fury, and the 180cd and cloth armor is a major problem, there is also the fact that eles don’t have offensive support, basically, we’ll need someone to carry us, like a guardian. 3 eles, 1 guard and a mesmer run… there is also the fact that we can;t quickly defeat the effigy or the gate

the 180 cd is NOT a problem, the cloth is also NOT a problem. its the healthbase which is the problem. wars are just as squishy as eles when geared for zerk and having a guard isnt a must. guards should probly also start to be incorporated too as they give a lot of might and can stop whole wipes., but this is ele talk.
EDIT: i can line up on the gate with my fgs and take down gate faster than a war too- the effigy can be pulled on a wall as well.

we can talk sustain dmg all we want, but the only parts you need fgs are slave driver and final boss, so the 180s cd doesnt matter what so ever. i am also going to say eles will out dps a war in sustained dmg too. only downside is low health bar, and cloth doesnt matter. yes, i know they are on a wall, but the bosses in cof can also be put on a wall- talk talk talk! be constructive too

If stealth gets ‘fixed’ I would delete the game in despair

threatening to quit a game because your OP class gets nerfed, if i had a nickle for everytime i heard that. lol

the only actual real problem i see with the thief if the insane amount of mobility + master of stealth + the insane amount of regen a thief can get while STILL going full berszerker. 500 health a second while in stealth while clearing conditions is pretty overpowered, by a long shot. not to mention they can reset fights at the flick of a wrist, go from 20% hp to 100% hp after some cheesy stealth healing, and still pump out 10k cnd+backstab combos. (not to mention heartseeker). if you are still defending this class after this reply, you do not have brain.

I am the 1% of eles who use d/f for burst builds and s/f for condi builds. So i love the focus. Dont do anything to it, lol , i have hundreds of hours played with the focus, and while a lot of eles may have a little hate for it, i wouldnt know why. Its a really great set of skills. If eles were to just pick the focus up instead of asking why is focus so underpowered, then, they would realize where the focus’s niche lies. If the focus gets a buff, BELIEVE me, i WOULD be happy! but the focus would be so overpowered if it got ANY sort of buff!!! Its perfectly balanced right now, its just a game of whos gonna turn in their test first on the finals. (an analogy ofc.)

No need to remove the skill, just change it so you can’t pass gate/portal when you’re in that downed mist form and it’d be enough.

Btw, warriors when downed also can stand up and move into keeps. Yes they’ll die soon after that but team players can immediately revive them thereafter. Will you say the warriors also cannot pass gates/portals in that state?

Yes, it’s cheesy as kitten. I do NOT want people who are downed being able to escape and get ressed inside a tower. Then all classes should be able to do it. Not 1-2 professions only.

Edit: I run a stunlock/daze build so I know how to counter their downstate. It’s just annoying when they do get away inside a tower/get ressed/and back to battle again.

i will be fine with this when thieves wont be able to stealth.. (sarcastically joking ofc) they can run into a zerg, shadowstep through, shadow refuge, and keep running.
I will be fine with this if a thief cannot heal for 2k over 4 seconds while in stealth EVERY time they stealth.
I will be fine with this when thieves have their backstab ability FINALLY have a cooldown, but, no nvm their “technical” cooldown is 3s from reveal.
Its not even like the ele is op with this, they have to be REALLY close to the tower to begin with, and for that to happen they need to blow all their CD to get near it.
Also, as if ONE ele can destroy 30 people, yeah thats pretty funny. Mesmers can port, thieves can permastealth, warriors have best burst with high armor+health, necroes have double the HP bar, rangers have permanent pets, engineers have kits with no CD’s, and what else… gaurdians can tank 5 people? Theres a special thing to every class that a lot of people hate. but without the special thing to ever class, they wouldnt be that “class” anymore. you need to stop hating on a class just because you are jelous of a special thing they have which you dont.

Churning Earth- Damage is similiar to thieves backstab
Hundred Blades- Damage is more than thieves backstab, but still comparable
Fire Grab- Damage is similiar to thieves backstab
Eviscerate- Damage is similiar to thieves backstab
Dragons tooth- Damage is similiar to thieves backstab
A bunch of other classes skills too that are similiar to thieves backstab damage, because im too lazy to name them ALL.

Disparity- All the other classes high hitting skills require A)conditional situations. ie; Dragons tooth needs an immobilize, churning earth needs lightning flash, fire grab needs close range + burning condition, ECT. B ) No class besides mesmer and thief can utilize stealth to land their attacks. C) No other class besides thief can handle EXTREME pressure! Glass cannon thieves can survive upwards of a ZERG. D) Every other class besides thief ACTUALLY HAS A COOLDOWN………. The thieves backstab has NO cooldown!!!! Technically it does, as a reveal of 3s prevents re stealth. So, its safe to say thieves Backstab has a THREE SECOND COOLDOWN. Ill let you guys think about that.

Dragons tooth and siege

First off, this is and or will not be a nerf, its a silly bug that needs to be fixed. Secondly, my main is an ele!!!! I bought him a commander tag, and i do a LOT of commanding! Now, for those of you who dont know, there is a skill called dragons tooth for eles scepter fire #2 skill that, if you have something targetted, requires NO line of sight to cast! This is a huge problem for siege inside keeps and towers!!! An ele or two can take down siege no problem in under 2 minutes! The skill itself is PERFECTLY fine BESIDES the fact you dont need line of sight! that is just stupid! I will be taking down rams with my arrow cart, and well what do ya know! a dragons tooth is now on top of my face. So im either forced to redirect my arrow cart to the ele(s) trying to take it down, and let the rams keep on going, or keep on the rams hoping the dragons tooth wont take down the cart fast enough. Problem 1- if i focus fire on the ele(s) who are hitting the cart, im not protecting the tower by trying to kill the rams before they can get in. If by a remote chance i down the eles, they will be revived in 3 seconds, just to keep on the dragons tooth again. Problem 2- if i keep on the rams and happen to kill the rams before the dragons tooth kills the cart, GJ. They run supplies to a near camp to build another while the eles kill the cart inside of a tower with 0 supplies. see this disparity? anyone else agree? if there are ANY other skills that dont require LOS, that needs to be fixed too. No reason siege should be taken down so easily like this.

Use it on downed players.

the autoattack on water will do mroe damage than the two seconds it takes to cast it.. its only benefit is aoe, but.. even then.. there are so many better AoE skills to use on a downed player. i would not want to give up two seconds to somone trying to revive them all for a kittenly 400 damage aoe.

Shatterstone, pretty useless… anyone agree? i mean, the 2 second HIDDEN cast is already horrible, but the damage too? its kittenty! even if somone was stupid enough to stand inside the 2 second aoe circle(that you can already simply walk out of really fast since the radius is so kittenly small), they wouldnt even feel it! its a kitten kitty kitten cat skill, that really needs to be looked at please

1. Dependable burst – high damage skills that actually have a decent chance to land

2. More HP – our base HP is just far too low to go full GC, maybe an absorption shield mechanic.

3. More Mobility – I understand the nerf for bunker/balanced builds. For GC to be feasible though we need a way to get in and out of fights quickly. Maybe reduction of RTL CD as a 30 pt Air trait? Something like that.

Number 1 is the most important though.. I can’t tell you how many times my target is right in front of me and fire grab still misses, or how hard it is to hit a good player with burning speed, dragons tooth, even phoenix.

i ONLY agree with more mobility, because, its kitten. i run full GC on my ele all the time, and, believe me when i say, it hits harder than a thief. as for defense? run the cantrips, lol. yeah… the health is reallllllyyy reallllllyyy low.. but when people run in for a stun on me, or try to burst me when ill just dodge and tele or pop Armor of earth. the only reason our burst is more worse than a thieves is because its incredibly complicated to use unlike every other class. my burst is this exactly (earthquake + lightning flash to tele to make sure quake lands + fire attunement + phoenix right behind them to hit them 3 times+ fire grab+ fire ring+ air attune+lighting strike+ RTL + updraft + arc lightning till dead. switch to water when needed to heal. ) BTW this is scepter dagger. now isnt that a kitten load more complicated than a thieves 5+f1+1+2-2-2-2-2-2? id say so. to wrap things up tho, dont rely on a fire grab.. they hit hard but you cannot rely on it. i can take down almost anything that doesnt run stunbreakers, and even then, i can just arc lightning them down for 5k every 3 seconds. (depending on armor). mobility is only problem.

I just came on here to say that i love monthlies and dailies to death, its an amazing system imo. however, after junes monthlies just coming out, i have finished them in under 1 day. its doesnt seem very “monthly” to me. i dont mind it taking that long, however, waiting a full month for monthlies that easy is boring /: dont have to incorporate weekly achievements, however, if you did it would be nice to see some dungeon reqs get added. some dungeons are never played. that could be an idea for a weekly achievement. and more ideas as well. i would love to see weeklies added.. more endgame material that keeps players playing. just my two cents, whats everyone elses opinion on this?

Shadow protector and shadows rejuvenation. there you go, 500 health per second for more than 50% of the fight. thats a little more than an eles healing if that ele were to spec into one trait tree like the thief, while going full berszerker. Thief trades off one trait tree for the sustainability. with a thief being stealthed for more than 50% of the fight with an avg fight of 10-60 seconds, im sure you now can see the disparity here. I dont mind that thieves can go stealth.. sure, whatever. i dont mind that they can hit 10k in one hit.. well i do, however, you combine that with stealth and 500 health per second? thieves are un killable(almost). do the math. they stealth every 4 seconds, FOR 4 seconds, hitting as their stealth runs out to reap benefits of the regen. 4×500=2000. They are healing for 2000 health over the course of being stealthed every time they stealth. EVERY 4 SECONDS. oh and, im not even counting black powder and heartseeker combo where they can perma stealth till full health. When im fighting thieves, (mind you im a full berzerker build cause thats the only way to come close to trying to bet a thief), i always hit them with my burst and get them down to on avg 10-20%. when they stealth and come out, theyre back to 90-100% ready with another stealth to burst me down again. other than a healway guardian, im ready to call the thief one of the best at healing. (selfishly ofc). Not only that but they can 1-escape from anything, 2-permanently stealth, 3-highest burst in the game. can anyone else see the enourmous disparities here? am i the only one?

I wonder what kind of build some wvw ele could be using.

Somehow his Scepter Air #2 hits me for 5000 damage without fail, basically an instagib combo when he switches to air (air attunement + air #2 + air sigil + arcane blast for a total of 11k+ damage)

How to make it so air #2 can crit for 5000-5500 damage? doesn’t it have like 1200 base damage?

i run the same build that ele runs, and for him to be hitting you that hard, he needs to have 125+ crit dmg percentage. i have around 115 and i crit mine for 4k or less depending on armor. eles burst are worse than thieves, but if you can avoid the initial burst, thats when you need to cc and retaliate. atleast we dont go invisible

problem is with the second version, +90% to recharge for attunements is .. interesting. it may or may not be a problem.. since, all attunements skills have a cooldown anyway.. i would much rather want to see an improvement to conjure weps first. but this does sound cool

@zephyrus, you are not reading anything i am saying. at the end i said this exactly “The same old berserker thief is (A)annoying if theyre good or (B)boring if theyre bad.” They are boring because theyre so easy to kill, or they run away when they cant do anything. Im sorry you couldnt make that assumption, i thought that was pretty obvious, my bad. Yes, while many thieves will run a mix of things to help their hp and what not, the end result will always be high crit damage and crit %. That is the goal of almost every thief when it comes to armor.

Actually I responded to your claim that all thieves run full zerker except for condition.

Here’s a thief that does not run what you’re saying (from a week of clips):

It’s all knight and valk gear, prioritizing armor over HP. I actually improved on the defense and offense in the build after that point with divinity runes, ascended accessories, and a few gear switches. I haven’t even tried this build since the sword #3 boon stealing buff since I’ve been running conditions in the last few weeks. It’s not bunker-status armor and definitely not HP but it’s a bruser of a thief that can survive any class’s spike damage as well as prolonged 1v2 and 1v3 (1vX) engagements but with enough damage to get work done.

You’re only right that thief can’t legitimately go full PvT/clerics or a 2/3s defense stat gear. It’s because they don’t have the support or team healing skills to justify it. But that’s why there’s warrior right? 40k HP with massive armor and condition immunity? Check.

I am fumbling on my words, i am sorry. i shouldve said “the goal of every thief (except condi) is to have high burst to get their opponent down.”

horrible idea. you would have to up there total defense about 75% making it just under what a warrior is.

Conjure Weapons are… eh. good in certain situations, bad in others? . Im pretty sure conjure weps are supposed to be that way. (conditional, because it helps us with versatility). but honestly i feel i can get much more versatility from armor of earth, mist form, cleansing fire, or any of the glyphs. the only conjure weapon i only occasionally use is the fire gs.. they just are so bland, and i hate to use them because they are restricted! An idea to help them without changing them too much, GIVE THEM MORE TRAITS! one trait that gives 10 extra uses is stupid. Make a fire grandmaster trait that grants unlimited and makes them last an extra 30s or something. instead of the silly extra 30% to fire fields.(broken btw, doesnt work).
thats just an idea, im not REALLY asking for that, but it would make the ENTIRE elementalist player population very very happy to know that anet is alteast looking at conjure weapons, considering changing them atleast. Opinions my fellow eles?

i dont have a guardian, but i feel i should put my opinion out there. the scepter autoattack probably is useless and all that. but honestly, when im fighting guardians, the slow moving animation is just scary

make initiative for thieves their stealth pool. put cooldowns on weapon skills. thief class fixed. good day- (oh and make any skill that gives stealth, like cnd or refuge, give initiative to compensate for the stealth they give already).something like that. just an idea. opinions on it?

why are theives forced into always going full berszerker??

Thief defenses are skill based, not stat based, so you shouldn’t be surprised when stats fail to help thief defenses.

Exactly, why should it be that way? isnt that kind of counterintuitive??

@zephyrus, you are not reading anything i am saying. at the end i said this exactly “The same old berserker thief is (A)annoying if theyre good or (B)boring if theyre bad.” They are boring because theyre so easy to kill, or they run away when they cant do anything. Im sorry you couldnt make that assumption, i thought that was pretty obvious, my bad. Yes, while many thieves will run a mix of things to help their hp and what not, the end result will always be high crit damage and crit %. That is the goal of almost every thief when it comes to armor.

Attunement Disparity

Before launch of the game, before betas, all of that, i thought the elementalist was going to be what arena net said it would. Youre attunement should dictate how your playstyle is going to be. The only attunement that fufills that is water. Every other attunement is just a blend of various skills. They do on a very small scale have certain qualities to them, but not what they should be. Water should be for controlling your enemies and supporting yourself, and to a degree, this is true. but how about earth’s staff 4+5 skill where one cripples and the other immobilizes? That is control. How about airs focus skill 5 where it knocks them down? more control. or airs offhand dagger 5, updraft.. more control. left to other attunements. I can go on about how air is supposed to be high damage, earth for defense, and fire for whatever. Air attunement should do so much more damage than what it does now. theres no reason i should do more damage with water scepter autoattack than air autoattack. (i get on average 1k per autoattack every 3/4 a second when i go full berszerkers gear, compared to airs 3k chain every 4 seconds). And this is just one example of it. So lets hear other opinions on this.

So after much time of hating thieves.. dying.. lots of dying.. i tried to counter them. (dont tell me how to counter them, just dont waste your time replying), and i literally cannot counter good thieves with whatever build i use. i shouldnt say counter, i mean, beat a thief. i get his life low, he just runs. alright, whatever. but that same thief will keep harassing me, ill get his life low, rinse and repeat. alright so i guess thieves are meant to be able to do that. its okay, its an intended class mechanic. i understand that. but.. every single thief i have ever ran into runs full berzerker gear. (or the %5 exception of condition thieves). Wow, when i started to think about that, it finally clicked. THIEVES CANT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT TO BE RELIABLE!!!!!!!!
why are theives forced into always going full berszerker?? because no thief can be a bunker build. Its not about dodging that makes you bunker, so dont tell me “yeah, thieves can tank if they dodge”, not at all. when a theif takes damage, it is pretty high no matter what. they can run the most toughness possible and still take 5k from somone. (which is half of their life pool almost) So, arenanet, if you will, rework the thief so that other thief builds will become reliable. so tha ti dont have to always run into a berszerker thief. its okay to run into a full berszerker build here and there for some classes, because, frankly %100 of any other class is much much more diverted into different stat usage. The thief? mostly every thief is berszerker. Can we agree on that? can arena net please make the thief more reliable with other builds so that i can finally fight a bunker thief, or more condition thieves, (ect). The same old berserker thief is (A)annoying if theyre good or (B)boring if theyre bad.

WvW- Glitching Block Siege Deployment

Do you even play wvw? I dont care to look at other bugs that people are stating. This is the difference (in wvw) between a 1st 2nd or 3rd place. Thats pretty big especially when wvw IS a part of the main game. I dont know why you would say otherwise. One person can treb their home keep to take it back, without worry of anything, because they are invulnerable and no invader can even begin to wonder how to stop this, because they cant. This glitch is pretty much saying “have a free keep in wvw. Also that tower over there near your spawn.”

Rune of the Ranger bug

Same issue here, i used 6 Superior Rune of the Ranger on my CoF gear. Now it shows (12/6) in red and the stats bonus of the runes ARE NOT WORKING. I transmuted the CoF gear with the Cultural Norn armor rank 3, so think about the gold i spended on it, and this Runes are expensive aswell, like 125g in total. Im a ocassional player so i worked really hard since the launch of the game to get the gold and now i screwed up my armor because a not fixed bug? I see 4-5 months replies here, is a old bug so please do something or give the gold or fixed items back. Sorry for my english.

Firstly, they are working, secondly, its a simple bug. go to heart of mists and change your spvp armor.

WvW- Glitching Block Siege Deployment

I have found a VERY important bug/ glitch that NEEDS to be fixed. On and ele or thief when you are down you can move. This sets up something insane. In wvw, when you are downed near the spawn area, and then as that ele or thief go back into the invuln area, you can safely use #4 to rez yourself. cool. When you get back up, “Blocked Siege Deployment” is GONE. This means you can hit towers and keeps from EB spawn area, with NO trouble and set up and build an entire army of golems SAFELY from spawn. Thank you. (i found this glitch, i feel the need to report it)
