The meta is changing at an alarming rate!
Aion had a pretty sweet dungeon that had two 5 man teams in the same map fighting for points. To score points you cleared rooms or you could just score points by pvping and killing other people.
YouTube some videos on paths 1 and 3 so you at least have an idea on what to expect.

Also, I know of someone who sells spots after solo’ing the dungeon, only to get kicked by two people who’ll join just to ruin his hard work and effort.
Ban them permanently.
Don’t ban them permanently… just make their gaming experience a little more annoying like remove 90% of their gold or take all their armor away so they have to re buy it. Permanent red downed penalty. Random instant deaths. Events stop yielding rewards. No daily available. Can’t do WvW. Chat functionality removed. No drops from mobs. Nothing counts towards acheivments. Nothing is more demoralizing than working hard for something only to have it taken from you :P

It’s not only just the abuse of mechanics, it’s totally time and gold wasting.
If ONE problem happens, the group wipes due to AoE poison from the spider queen, AoE from the Howling King, or mobs, or Kohler’s AoE, or whatever else. And then the group falls apart, and nobody is having fun.
It’s SO much easier to just fight the boss like a normal person anyway.
Sometimes people are idiots, and this is starting to be one of those times.
Back on topic. OP is right. We need to fix boss stacking. Players don’t know why we stack. They just stack because that is what the videos show. Stacking makes the game less fun because the people who DO stack are ruining my immersion in the game and why did I pay 50$ for a game I don’t enjoy. You all should play how I want so I can have fun…
Generally adding more fractal levels would be a great addition….
As someone who has yet to reach 30, I’m happy with the rewards of 10-28. Really hope that I’ll be satisfied with the rewards when I progress.

The problem with increasing drop rates is that it affects the entire population. You might have poor luck but if you look at the whole picture you would see drop rates are fairly reasonable.
The developers knew what they were doing when they made this map. Don’t question their actions. Just because you have difficulties does not mean changes must be made. Meet adversity with a an open mind and overcome the challenges. This is the way of the samurai.

I agree with the OP. It would be cool if the cut scene’s were not able to be skipped. The developers put in a lot of time for those to be created and it is a shame people just want to skip them all the time.

Funny you say this. I have been WvWing a lot lately to get the meta achievement done. There have been many occasions when me and my friends are being chased by a larger group, and we run around a corner and the “mobs” LOS to us and we obliterate them with AOE. You would think that real people with intelligence would be immune to stupid pve tactics, but they aren’t.
Funny you use a zerg WvW example to try to counter a point made in reference to sPvP.
LOS’ing is even easier in sPvP.
Step 1: Attack someone
Step 2: Run behind something
Step 3: Wait for them to come to me and run into my turrets…
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-4
If they don’t come to me I just get to throw conditions on them with my 1200 range grenades…
Also I must be cheating if I can anticipate a stun warriors eleven billion stuns (spoiler I watch the animation) or a guardian pull (spoiler I watch for the animation) or a mesmer gs push back (spoiler I watch the animation).
Best way to farm Karma is doing a Teq daily. In terms of time:karma conversion, nothing comes close to beating it.
Fractals 10 lvls lower than your personal reward gives you about 11k without boosters and approx 20k with boosters.

There are plenty of times when I am on my engi and I LOS behind a wall and stack with some teammates to obliterate my enemy. I think I’ll make a video of it sometime.
@Naduk You should google pseudo random number generator and then apply it to the server population (We’ll just say 1 million people play at all times).
I agree with the OP. Why even play the game if you are going to exploit by stacking and LOS’ing. The dungeon is meant to be “played” no skipped or gimmicked. The dev’s put in countless hours to create this content so it is disrespectful if you don’t play it the correct way.
How would I know where to go without the NPC’s help though? NPC’s in the dungeon is a more immersive experience, especially when I can talk to them throughout the run.
tl;dr; I love NPC’s in dungeons.
Using the 10 30 0 10 20 build. Its completely my fault I should be putting up aegis/stability/whatever but fail to do so on time. We’re semi organised so everyone depends on me when i’m guard and i hate to let them down in both senses of the term.
This will come naturally as you learn each boss fight. Playtime is really the best way to become familiar with the mechanics. Watch the videos and try to pick out the bosses telegraphs so you can start looking for those in-game.

OP your safest bets are in making any other character. Get all of them to 20 – 50 so you can decide which play style you enjoy the most.

TLDR: Anet should make encounters that challenge players to play GW2 in a different way. Such as discourage stacking in some situations with in game mechanics like aoe. Make different play styles viable by monster armor levels, condition application, boons and varied skill sets. These skill sets will encourage positioning and other play styles while not 100% forcing them.
Redesign Silver Mobs to have synergistic skill sets If anyone remembers Slaver’s Exile from GW1. Mobs there had builds similar to human parties with skill sets that worked together to make a challenging dungeon for a balanced party. Dredge boon stack+stuns+range attacks and maybe Aethers are the closest thing to that.
Some Examples based on the idea of Mobs acting more like players using skills that complement each other, by filling the roles of the GW2 trinity Support, Control, and Damage.
-Have an a enemy that can stack defensive boons of a long duration on a channeled skill. Usually one or two in a group. Suddenly Interrupts and boon strip are useful You do no not want to be DPS things with protection Condition builds also get a boost if the protection is rampant enough or some mobs have higher armor values. Give mobs ways to cause weakness also helps condi builds by lowering dps of Zerk builds.
-Create a melee mob that has Aoe Knock back or fear. Suddenly stacking to maximize dps not as smart, unless u stability or stun break/ Make some melee enemies cleave like players.
-Give casters spam-able aoe damage or blind field but not huge to discourage corner stacking hmm maybe we have to think now. Even bonus points for making caster that calls melee minions that explode on death. When players stack to win they may wipe.
-Possible synergy: One mob has an immobilizing attack which triggers another mob to charge this target and then use a channeled high dps attack like 100b. you must either cleanse use stun or hope for your teammate to do that for you.
Design Bosses that force team work or failure: Unlike our current bosses these bosses are by design not solo friendly and require team work no one player can carry the team.
Lets say there is a champ that has a leap attack that he uses 3 times in a row, on 10 sec cool down. He will leap on someone different as long as there is someone in his range. He uses has a stomp skill with huge blowout to punish bad melee ranged are punished by their friends deaths from leap chain if they wander. Melee cleaves,standing in front of him as a party may not be smart but his target kiting and the rest melee from behind could work. Hey Awesome we made a boss where positioning matters and can not be solo while still not being OP. Experienced players can melee him to some effect to speed up runs at a higher dodge tax and risk of not being able to see who he is leaping on and wasting precious dodges. The whole party getting stomped may cause a player to die from being hit by a full leap chain.
-Make a boss that has ranged attacks where reflects can not be exploited for easy kills (I am using the proper definition of exploit not the kind you here on forums everywhere). Ranged boss with rapid fire attack that will camp a player for 10 sec long enough to down a squishy. To not get killed by him players need to rotate themselves into the bosses line of fire or get into special cover spots. The boss will acquire new targets as long as someone is not in cover. When the boss gets his attack reflected or everyone is in cover. He will swap to a stronger burst aoe ground target skill on his target after finishing his volley. Now you have to think about reflects, I can make the boss hurt himself for good damage but this might cause my teammate to die. Scenario 2 this boss is pressuring me, I can throw down a reflect and time my dodges to escape his aoe channeled skill if he targets me after that i may die if my team mate does not take some of the hits for me. Hey I just made another boss that needs teamwork that is very difficult to beat alone but when a team knows the fight can be a lot easier. This is designed to force the team to manage their health pools as if it was one pool. Ignoring boss mechanics will likely lead in wipe or deaths. The boss will do decent damage but a Zerk team that can manage their collective health can win but requires a tight rotation. The tankier the team the easier it is but the longer it takes. Trade offs are there risk vs reward.

I am just posting this in fear of anet implementing 50 pristime Fractal Relics for 1 skin. Which is completely worst solution.
If its implemented every one would we face rolling lvl 10 Fractal with 55 AR and in 3 months every one will be roaming with the rare skins.
Instead make 3 to 5 skins convert into one skin of your choice that’s a way to make people do 50 + Fractal lvl in the future.
Now why i am feared because a lot of people asked anet for some incentive and achieves for WvWvW, anet did listen to its crowd but what happened maps are with full ques with pvers hating being in WvWvW for achieves.
So ask wisely people.

No not looking for I win button, just pointing out something I see as frustrating. Case in point had to port back to begining to repair, couldn’t rejoin my group without running back through the whole instance as we were near the last boss, and they were clearing trash. Yes I can always improve my play, still adapting to GW2 and loving it. May be it’s just me still learning the ropes around these parts. Happy hunting…
My best non troll answer would be to look on YouTube for some videos on the runs so you can better understand what utilities you need to bring for running past the mobs. Knowing when to dodge an enemies pull back or knowing when to use your stun breaker is the line between life and death. There are tons of resources/ players willing to teach the mechanics of pretty much every dungeon path.
Why would they remove something that keeps people playing the game? Retention is a large part of why RNG is so prevalent.

Please implement a way to Rez other than by another player while killing trash. I understand not wanting to rez zerg a boss but dying during trash is a pain. I have played a lot of MMO’s and I do really like GW2 it is refreshing and engaging, dungeons are challenging which I like but not being able to rez while in combat with trash is frustrating to me.
How about you can way point but lose a percentage of gold? Or you drop a random item from your inventory/ equips. Maybe we should just give you an attack that kills all mobs in a 1200 range so you can just spam it while running?
