All you do is: stop complaining L2p nothing wrong, little kittenes/drama queens i find no problems because i ignore the other gamemodes where it hits harder but i dont care..

If anything else messes up, they have many more chances to continue fighting and still win. Thats the tradeoff that a ton of people just can’t grasp the concept of. We come here to discuss and provide feedback.
A thief main, trolling us, comes here and tells us a counter-opinion to what we’re all saying. We called him out on it by checking his post history.
If he was a warrior maybe we’d take his word a bit more seriously – but hes not.
And yes we are here to prove a point based on our experiences. If someone comes here to kitten on our opinion – I want to know who and why. Post history explains both of those at times.
A post from two years ago? Please. Do you only play 1 profession and nothing else? If so, then you probably shouldn’t be posting your opinions, since you wouldn’t know enough about the other professions and how they interact with your 1 profession of choice.
Why can’t you accept that someone who indeed does play this profession often, agrees with a balance change that wasn’t a buff? Do I need to login and take a screenshot of my Warrior’s playtime? Grow up…

Warrior is my second most played profession, in which I play almost every day for an hour or two. Though I’m glad you think a post I made from two years ago, probably before I even got into WvW, is relevant.

How melodramatic does this subforum have to be? I’m here, with a Warrior as my 2nd main, not allowing it to be a stream of QQ’s without opposition. Nerfs needed to happen, they did, and I don’t see the need for them to be reverted. At least not in WvW, which is what all my responses have been contextually about.
If they cannot get the poison off before CG lands their goose is cooked.
Its worked pretty well half the time. The other half they wouldn’t clear poison, but rather either have a passive stunbreak and move, or break the stun themselves and move. The aftercast on Impairing Daggers seems ridiculous and it keeps taking forever for the actual CG cast to initiate.
I’ve started using D/P + P/P Crit/Trick/DrD roaming in WvW again and it has been wildly fun. It makes it a lot easier to take care of those condi Revs that have been popping up like dandelions.
I guess you meant Arc Divider not Arcing Slice. In my opinion the range is ok (450) because of two reasons:
1. It is an elite spec.
No need to read after here, folks. This guy thinks elite specs (which are supposed to be a side-step, not an upgrade, as mentioned by Anet) make it OK for abilities to over-perform.
Power War is absolutely dead to me. Not only is it next to impossible to duel a good player, but the sluggishness of the class makes it very unenjoyable to play.
Power Warrior? The only thing thats changed on power Warrior to make it somewhat sluggish is shield bash having a quarter of a second more cast time. And if a quarter second on one skill is enough to make it impossible for you to duel a good player…maybe you aren’t a good enough player to engage in 1v1 duels regardless…
Update: I just read in a thread on the thief forum where you mentioned you believe thieves are “stupidly OP.” Now I know for sure that you shouldn’t be engaging in 1v1 duels until you learn more aspects of GW2.

How much damage does PI do with no power stats?
Sure would love to trade some of my incredibly active defense (dodging, which requires timing and critical thinking), for some of the incredibly inactive defense (blocks, which require much, much less timing and critical thinking).
Oh, actually, no. I don’t. Because I play Thief when I want to play as my profession, not have my profession play for me…

Yes, it tells me that they should grow up and accept that their profession of choice was overtuned in certain areas, and needed shaving. I love my warrior, I killed a lot of players that I shouldn’t have been able to kill because the profession carried me. I saw this coming, it happened, and still the profession carries me, continuing to kill a lot of players that I shouldn’t be able to kill…
The only time anyone is not going to be upset after a patch is if their profession of choice was buffed and only buffed. Get a grip.
Every profession forum has a post like this. Thief forums have had the most posts like this in the past.
I don’t care about PvE, nor PvP. But in WvW, my warrior is doing just as fine as before while roaming…
I want to do this, but it would require me to make my necro condi. I’m not sure I can live with that…

greatsword is just usless now in both pve and wvw. i think that anet wanna force us to use axes,hammers and w/e fluffy unicorn on AAA bateryes they dream of at night

However after playing today – I can still reliably hit with shield bash, I don’t even see a difference with are divider, and landed that way more often than not. Headbutt was hard to land, but hey, it’s cooldown is incredibly short, so I got to try again over and over…
Power warrior actually doesn’t. If I’m not mistaken it was already pretty much bargain basement among dps and this certainly didn’t help. If it was a problem with Pvp, it should have been split.
Context clues will clearly tell you I was talking about and responding to a reply regarding WvW. If PvE carebears are so adamant about having the best “DPS” for their non-human damage sponge enemies, they should just play whatever current profession is performing the best “DPS.” Because its obvious from PvE whining and crying that “DPS” is much higher on their priority list than actually playing the profession they enjoy.

Haha, right? Power Warrior mains just need to l2p like the rest of the professions already. Enough with the QQ over this. The profession still performs wonderfully, and still seems overtuned in terms of damage and survivability.

IDK what the fuss is about here. My GS Axe/Sh roamer is still by far my easiest character to play in 1v1 and small scale WvW. Hard to land headbutt, but still easy af to land arc divider. I can’t beat Acro Thieves or other Warriors, but everything else I can reliably defeat.
There’s like, 4 skills I actually have to use my brain for, everything else can literally be pushed on cooldown. Don’t get me wrong, I have loads of fun, but it’s not particularly active gameplay…
Me. Works with Draining and interrupt traits. Venom, Venom, Steal, Choking, Dodge. That usually kills them. If not evade for 30s and repeat. Boring gameplay but all but the best players gets croaked by it.
What dodge did you use?
I didn’t have those stats, nor did I use PI last night, but I put on my full condi gear, used DA, and opened with Impairing Daggers/Steal combo (6 poison stacks) → Choking Gas. It was pretty effective since it dazed right off the bat, usually got 3 interrupts in a short period. I’m imagining something like that but incorporating PI damage and possibly Sigil of Draining.
Anyone try this one out yet? Thinking about using your regular condi-oriented build, but taking PI instead. Time for SB to be a main weapon!
If condi rev was viable then they wouldnt buff him in the first place. You dont make any sense at this point cause even devs found condi rev to be subpar choice, unless you consider yourself to be smarter than everyone else ingame, including devs with access to data?

ANET your developers went out of their way to make sure the tells for the warrior skills were so obvious that you would have to be ignoring them not to see…
3/4 cast time on head butt is too much. 1/2 second was already reasonable, same goes for shield bash.
The game is 5 years old at no point was shield bash in 5 years considered too strong, so that is the reasoning that the changes are nonsensical.
ANET if you can argue logic that it took you 5 years to think shield bash needed a nerf than go for it. Until then Stop caving to bad players who complain that they get rekt by a warrior becasue they are bad at the game. And dumpstering a class just becasue it looks politically correct to do so

Staff thief still trashes mesmer, and yea the nerfs were for the good of the game (or just to make way for the new elite specs)
If you’re talking about condi mesmer, no – staff thieves level the playing field making the fight pretty darn equal, albeit boring as heck.
If you’re talking about power mesmer, Thieves in general only counter the metabattle mesmers who don’t know how to diversify their stats. 100% berserker for the win! Gotta 1shot errbody or its useless, amirite?

How about people stop holding 1 or spamming their skills on cooldown and actually use their brain to play the game. You’ll quickly see that there’s no such thing as PI “spam” in the world of competent players.

IF he keeps his burst. IF he keeps his mobility. That’s the point, we have no idea if either of those things will be a feature of the elite spec. For all we know, it could limit Thief to one weapon only (no SB), remove Steal and swap it for something else, and have absolutely no stealth mechanic at all. It might not even be a burst spec. It could be support, condi, sustained DPS. We don’t know yet, so complaining about IF this and IF that is pointless. Save the complaining for when we get some details and it turns out that yeah, it is a crappy one shot burst spec.
All this is as of right now is “Waaaa Thief might get a decent ranged weapon omg so OP”. Its nonsense.

Yes but bandits defence is on such a low cool down that it makes it much stronger than most classes stunbreaks especially when traited. You don’t need 3 stun breaks (especially if on 30-40s) if you have one on a 12s CD which also blocks, shadowstep is just an exceptionally good skill no thief would be without, however it is still a stunbreak and so you can’t simply discount it because the use of its 2nd break likely won’t be used.
Actually these champions of the class say no passives, they do not distinguish between offensive, defensive or build and all types are bad for the game in large amounts. Heck most thieves don’t even realise how the minors in DA force cleanses out if the opponent wants to counter attack or heal as the minors make sure sure the target is poisoned and weakened, the weakness being a passive trait for when you inflict poison.
As for not taking acro, that’s the player choice but we saw what it could do with daredevil, there’s plenty of videos around of troll daredevils. That DD condi daredevil, the vault spam with a 250ms window to interrupt all used acro making it as resilient as other classes that took thier equivalent trait line. The point is thief has just as many of these passive defences and some passive offences as every other class with the former in acro and most of the latter in DA and trickery.
You’re really, really, reeeeeeeaaaaally stretching for validation to your incredibly generalized claims. As for these minor passives you’re trying real hard to press for – you might as well incorporate every profession into your argument, because by your logic, “10% greatsword damage and shorter cooldowns forces people to press their heal sooner” falls into the same realm of logic as “forcing people to cleanse due to DA poison trait”…

Dont forget: Thieves are the only profession that is allowed to slot not 4, but 5 traitlines!

NSP has a pretty good population of “older” adult players. Many of them retired even. Most of my guild (PB) is 30+
I’d honestly rather have the 14-18 year old kids on my team than most of the players who seem to be 24-30. I find the younger players are mostly more respectful and helpful, where instead what seems like the mid-late 20’s and early 30’s are the saltiest whine-babies out there. You know the ones – the ones who have never seem to have lost because they have been outplayed, but rather “only lose because of cheese, or lag, or OP skill X” …

Easy answer:
Thief in general. Best mobility in the game (with stun break), condition cleanse, self buffs, high damage and permanent access to stealth. In pvp only half as powerful because the stats are capped. Needs to happen in wvw too.
Doesn’t every other profession have (more) stun breaks, condi cleanse, (more) self boons, but can also survive being hit by 2 skills?
The answer is yes, please pick something actually broken.
I play necro/reaper exclusively. I love this class because it is a constant struggle to stay competitive with so many OP meta/rotation builds for other classes. When something as relatively minor as the addition of 2 bleed stacks to chill, (which I believe is still subpar to burn and confusion damage by other classes), causes so much salt it’s a real head shaker. Deathly chill and Bleed do not need nerfed or toned down, if anything chill needs to be a cc as it should be. My advice to fighting reapers follow’s this thread’s, you just need to adjust. When the buff was first made it few knew how to deal with it, now I am running into many who have learned how. Follow OP’s advice and Reapers will be hard put against you, and even if you lose it there is always next time. Have fun and remember it’s just a game.
The amount of skills, utilities, and traits a reaper has that inflict Chilled is ridiculous, especially since they’re not niche, and can be stacked into the same condi builds. If all are used in quick succession, plus the normal bleeds from other skills/the same skills, your opponents quickly have 20+ stacks of bleeds. This is on top of the other conditions like poison that are being applied.
So…yeah. Its a little over the top right now and needs to be toned down. 1 bleed stack would be reasonable.
I never claimed to be able to dodge or block every stun. I try, but I’m certainly not perfect. I also have other tools at my disposal, like blind, immobilize, cripple, etc.
My complaint about basilisk venom is that I can’t ever dodge it and can’t ever block it. If I eat a shield bash. That’s on me. I should have seen it and defended. If I see a thief at 1200 range with venom up, no amount of skilled play on my part will prevent that damage – not even a stun break. I’m still going to take the initial interrupt + first attack before I can react. You can’t say that about too many skills in the game.
Is Basilisk Venom the only instant (by technicality, at least) stun in the game?
Balance on the small scale in WvW is poor at best, broken at worst. Anet do not care, Zerkers, DD, condi chronos are probably the worst offenders.
I think the Dire/Trailblazers stat combos are the top offenders right now, and have been for quite some time. Without those stats, the DD and Condi Chrono’s seem much less OP in small scale.
Wait seriously? Does someone seriously think Ascended vs. Exotic will make or break a fight? Jeeze its like 5% stat/damage difference. This would be at the bottom of the list of things ANET needs to look at for WvW, right under -bring back the oasis event-

I think Debilitating Arc (Staff #3) needs to cost 1 more initiative to bring it in line with how loaded it is.
Some thief stolen skills have always been OP. Try being a mesmer and going up against Consume Plasma.
Your concern isn’t about all the boons it applies, its about the 2.5 seconds of resistance. If consume plasma lost all boons except for Resistance – I bet you’d still complain. A mesmer can easily stealth and reposition, or cycle blocks/distortion if they really want to wait out those 10seconds of all boons. But I guarantee this complaint here is coming from a Condi roamer point of view, which doesn’t need any buff, nor indirect buff (nerf to counterplay) what-so-ever.
If they are not relying on traps they are likely using panic strike at long duration to immob in a Caltrops field.
Individually this not as effective as the ones that used traps but it still doable and especially in wvw where so many leave condition cleanse at home.
Panic Strike requires a strike, which requires revealed/out of stealth.
Invisible should be a long cooldown, not a bounce off the wall or ambient creature and be forever invisible and able to kill without ever being seen.
Can you also propose what thieves would get in return for this change?
evade.cleanse.evade.cleanse.evade.cleanse. You’re doing basically nothing to them, if you can even hit them.
And of course whenever they feel like it, they can reset the fight.
On the other hand, as a necro, you’re unlikely to be able to get away from them so kiting isn’t effective and LoS needs nearby objects (thiefs usually attack in wide open spaces, easier for them to escape if their cheese doesn’t work).
TIL my entire profession is cheese. I sure hope its Asiago, that’s my favorite!
