That is an interesting idea to make eruption apply its damage over the duration but that would make eruption like necro wells. Which is suppose to be unique to necros. I would prefer a instant cast eruption.

Main hand dagger does more bleeds per tick than scepter. Scepter’s has the easier time of dealing with condition removals since you are always at range. While staff condition damage is just the best for AE.

Yea before I stopped played gw2 for awhile I tested a condition spec in wvw. Having to stay in earth to do a majority of my condition damage is the opposite of how I play my elementalist. I have never had an issue with keeping a burn on my target when I was in wvw, so I have always seen the new traits that improve burns proc/durations to be useless.

I can understand them not adding confusion but not torment since it is already limited. The only class that can place stacks of torment is a thief and it does not work out well for them. Even when you focus on torment.

Vulnerability is not a condition damage skill that is why it is high up in the air trait line. With my fresh air build I can randomly get 15-19stacks of vul on a single target with weak spot. That helps alot for a direct damage build. I like the other suggestions on how to improve condition built eles.

The 2 aspects that make a condition spec viable is the ability to stack bleeds fast or the ability to syack multiple damage conditions. Condition spec eles lack the ability to do both. It take dagger and scepter condition spec eles 12.5sec to get a max stack of bleeds, so elemental lack the ability to stack bleed at a fast pace. The only other damage condition damage eles have is burns. In order to make condition spec ele viable one of aspects needs to be buffed. Elementalist should not be the best at condition damage but if they spec for it they should not be the worst.

For condition spec eles you lose a majority of your condition damage when you swap out of earth. The 2 way this can be improve by either reducing the amount of time needed to be in earth to stack bleeds or improve the condition damage aspect of the other attunements if traited. If both are added it would mess up the overall meta of a elementalist making them a top condition spec class.

1. A simple solution is to reduce the time needed to stack bleeds in earth. Make a trait that adds a passive double bleed effect 20~40% chance to proc. Instead of 12.5s to max stack bleeds it would take 7.5-10s to max stack bleeds. This would reduce the amount of time eles need to stay in earth and it would enable condition spec staff eles the ability to get upto 25 stacks of bleeds. Then add a trait that gives bleeds to utilities skills like:

Shard of Ice(changed to master and swap with stop drop and roll) – Arcane and signet now apply 3 stacks of bleeds. (this would enable you to keep bleed stacks on as you are swapping to water to heal)

2. The more complex solution to make condition spec eles viable is to improve the condition damage aspect of the other attunement/utilities if you trait for it. These are just idea that would improve the overall condition damage aspect of other attunements. Suggested traits:

Flash Fire(grandmaster)- Reduce the duration off all burn by 50% increase burn damage by 40%. ( with signet of fire alone it is easy to perm burn someone that does not have condition removals. This skill would prevent a 30s burn from not going the full duration.)
Dazed, Blind and Confused(master) -Blinds now add confusion. Disables add 3 stacks of confusion.
Tormenting movement(adept) – All slows and immobile skill now apply 2 stacks of torment. Chill, cripple and immobile. ( this would make swapping to water not as big of a lose in condition damage)

Well doing camps you can gain around 1.5 wxp lvl per hour, pvd with no resistant you can about 2lvl per hour. Then you have to take into account how many gold/cash they spend on boosters. I know that with a holiday and a birthday booster I can gain about 75lvl in a day.

Yea I would like to keep the flaming human t3 cultural armor on my asura. It is one of the best looking light armor sets. It is a one of the few glowing armors that look good on a asura.

Just depends on which spec can tag the most people the fastest. Most of the time it is melee with their fast attack speed or Necro with their wells.

Well their were videos of Dev talking about putting in new legendaries think it was a PAX video. They have not said what type or what effect the new legendaries will have. Since most legendary weapons have aura and footstep.

Well I can see the new legendary weapons using the same formula, but what if the next legendaries are not weapons? If it is legendary armor or a trinket it should not use the same formula since some players only have one character. I can understand using gift of x, precursor, and gift of fortune but not another gift of mastery for people without alts.

Edge of the Mists - really good idea?

EotM maps should always be close to full, since it will be a map selection like obsidian sanctum is now. Even though you have a choice to go to EotM if you are in queue. Heard A-net said EotM match-ups will be short like a 24hr match.

Alot of roamers will select EotM instead of roaming on a borderland once it is out. No server focus fights just pugs zergs. It is supposely difficult to get your entire guild into the same EotM match. At best you will be able to get your 5 man havoc squad in on the same team.

One of the things I will love about EotM are the 3 different factions. Orge(desert), Troll(jungle), and Koda(ice). So you never know what to expect from those npc and the lords will not be a easy fight. I like the meteologius above the bitfrost because of the day/night effect. The minstrel effects are minor on a asura. The kraitkin only looks liek a legendary at night otherwise you do not know it is a legendary.

Fire III – Ember’s Might. The effect of this trait has been changed to Burns you apply last longer. 25%.

This may seem like a buff but, if you are using a burn build it is easy enough to perm burn someone with the current traits. I would prefer if Ember might would increase burn damage by 25% instead of increase its duration. When I spec for burns in spvp signet of fire has a 15s burn. Knowing spvper at most it takes at most 10s to remove a painful condition. That is 5s of wasted condition damage, so why add 1-2 more secs?

Gold League: SoR Loses to TC?

If it takes SoR to drop a tier to regroup and come back so be it, if we do drop down, BG will have nothing to do in WvW, before the season stated the battles where great, JQ can maybe push BG for a few days, but TC, ( who will likely replace us in T1 ) I doubt would have the power/numbers to compete against BG week in week out, yes TC is beating SoR this week, but im guessing there putting in mega hours to keep that small 8-10k lead, because they can maybe steal 3rd place overall, so good for them if they can get that, it also makes sense for JQ to want TC to take 2nd this week, as it will all but make it that JQ will take 2nd overall.

Correct TC lacks the SEA guilds to compete with t1. Without IRON SoR is lacking. Their NA is not as dominate. We have been beating them during Oceanic and EU times most days. Everyone is playing since it is a holiday weekend and the match-up is close.

Yea but orichalcum can be farmed for. Easy enough to do a mining runs on multiple alts so you will not have to pay the expensive price.

I would prefer if Anet made a trait that hasten the damage done by burns. Easy for a burn spec ele to place a 30sec burn on a target but rarely will it do full damage. So dhow about a trait like intense flames: all burns durations are decrease by 50% and damage increase by 50%. Something like that would be very helpful.

Expect cloth price to greatly increase once ascended armor comes out. Cloth is used for all armor. No way to really farm for cloth since drops are in from salvage and loot bag.

The ones that had travelers stats are still in the game but you get to select the stats you want. So if you want celestial, dire and such, you make the Quiver of a Thousand Arrows or Yakkingtons Tale. Then you pick that stat. But you can only make those with the vial of mist essence.

when you say ecto is fastest but most expensive way to lvl your luck than you should not forget the blues and greens you can sell again after 300+ and make tons profit what you would otherwise salvage

you need the time how long you need for 300+ with ectos and you need time how long you need with normal salvage and you need to know how much gold you make with 300+ selling greens and blues per hour

than you can say whats more expensive

i bet the ecto way is NOT the baddest^^

I did the cost calculation before I started to max luck. I do not feel like going all into the math of it again. So I will just show you the info I used. 4.2 million luck to max, ecto= ~100luck(33-35s), green =~30luck(1-1.5s), blue=~10luck (1-1.5s).

When I took into account selling back the dust with ecto it still cost ~4000g. With greens/blues I did not take into account the random crafting mat you get back (because their are alot of different green/blues you will bid on to max luck) and it was ~2000g of greens and ~4000g of blues to max. So if I did take into account the crafting mats I get back from greens/blues it would still be cheaper.

I’d like to know how your drop rate has changed since accumulating all of that MF.. Is there any significant improvement?

Well rares are common drops now. I get a few exotics every week even though I do not farm mobs events alot, even in wvw I zerg less than I roam. I will have to pay attention to my mystic salvage kit to see how many I get on a weekly bases.

I just listed that I have max luck not all of the guild buff and other stuff I have to increase my magic find. With that I normally have 337 magic find or so. Even more when i do wvw on a outmanned map.

Curious how should you measure if a server should be server of the year? Sololy based on wvw then one of the top 4 server. If it is pve which server would be number 1 or which server do most player like to guest to.

Well look at it as being similiar to the 1 mystic clover attempts vs the 10 mystic clover attempt. You can get very lucky or not. That is why the 1 mystic clover attempts seem to be more common.

It is cheaper per attempt. ~1.6g per rare attempt vs ~6g per exotic attempt. I know Anet has stated that exotics have a better chance at getting a precursor than rares. 0.5-1% chance of crafting makes people go with the cheaper choice. The probability I have heard from someone who sells precursor was 0.5% with random rares 200 attempts.

For my glassy ele the only classes The classes I consistently lose to are mesmers and thieves. Rangers tend to be a free kill. Everything else is some where in the middle.

Anet claims they can’t remove the AOE cap for tech reasons (even though DAOC, a 10 year-old game, handled more players per chunk and it did it without any AOE cap…).

DAOC is a old game with worst graphic effects. Notice how Anet had to instance every zone in game instead of making a few HUGE continuous map like in WOW. To get better graphic you need to have limitations in other places.

Probably the same reason they can not adjust the wvw achievement. Must be difficult for A-net to put in something that checks previous achievements or changes achievement already earn. That item will enable everyone with the meta to get the correct rewards at the end. Also you should have already put your wvw key in your bank by now.

Well Anet makes more money with the gem store than subs. The people they are paying for stuff in the gem store are paying more than enough to make up for no subs. one of my guild member pays $10 a week for gems and stuff.

The only way I land dragon tooth is with signet of earth or help from a ally. Does not work well against mobile targets. Phoenix does more damage than it but has a longer cd.

I purchased 250 ecto’s and salvaged all of them and then immediately sold all the dust and in total my cost was only 5g30s. Not to bad of a cost to go from 61% mf to 78%

The times I have bought ecto it was for 85-90g and I sold the dust for 55-60g. That was the standard for the last couple of months. The price of crystalline dust has increase since then ~16s to ~17s. I have never profited from turning ecto into dust and spent 25-30g per stack when I rush the last 10%mf. I did not even take into account the salvage mats you get from green and it was less expensive then ecto even when I sold the dust.

Also, someone even found some greens that you can buy and salvage for a profit. . https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/How-to-profit-while-gaining-MF/first#post3222763. So you were just lucky they someone sold ecto at a very cheap price.

Overall salvaging ecto is the fastest way, but salvaging greens is the cheapest way. For me Ecto avg ~100luck per salvage and greens ~20luck. Using ecto to max luck will cost you twice as much as using greens assuming you are buying greens for around ~1s. The cost I calculated for maxing luck (4.3million luck) is around ~4000g with ecto(takes into account selling the dust back) and ~2000g with greens(does not take into account selling salvaged mats back). The main issue with buying greens is you will have pages of greens to salvage.

Magic find in terms of luck:
226% is 1/2 of max luck
183% is 1/4 of max luck
144% is 1/10 of max luck
109% is 1/25 of max luck
72% is 1/100 of max luck

It takes ~500 in game hours to make a legendary. Sitting and waiting for a precursor to drop is pointless, either save up your money to buy one or mystic forge one. Only had 1 precursor drop in wvw sold it, bought 4 others and crafted 1. Every person I seen complain about legendaries has waited to get the precursor last, knowing that the precursor is 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the legendary. Easy to see why people get frustrated about crafting one.

When I think of celestial I think of it as the prefect gear for 100% boon duration. A little bit of everything prefect for a medium sized zerg in wvw but not the best for a server zerg or havoc group. Still celestial fits well into the high versatility aspect of eles.

The problem with silk to gossamer is that eventually the silk/crystalline dust prices will get so high that it will not be worth it. It may be profitable atm but once 1000 player decide to buy say 2000silk and 40dust every day the price of silk and dust will increase. Farming is just adding supply. Messing will the market increases the demand of silk and dust to try and increase the supply of gossamer.

The price will probably triple and I doubt it will fall much. The main reason orichalcum prices started to fall was because people got fed up with the price and decided to farm for it. You can not do that with gossamer.

Any buff to signet of air would increase it cd even more. It was a 20s cd before they added the stunbreaker to it. Now it is a 30s cd. Signet of water does need to be reworked since it is under used. It is currently only useful for pve.

Salvaging in general can be very profitable if you know what you are doing. The market is overcrowded with Agent of Entropy players, so it is difficult to get alot of supplies to salvage. When get the supply you need for salvaging, you can make alot of gold per hour. (-5g to 50g per hour varying with the market prices). Love my copper-penny salvage kit. Still salvaging is a tedious way to farm for gold but all grinds are.

Meteorlogicus or the kraitkin at night look the best. The minstrel is still underwhelming but now the musical note work. On a Asura the musical notes need to be bigger and more active.

From talking to a guildy that has crafted dozens of precursors in the mystic forge. On avg it took him 200 attempt with random rares to get a precursor. When I crafted The Legend it took about the same amount of attempts to get it. Overall it seems like mystic forge has a 0.5% chance of creating a precursor. Save up your money and try crafting one in a single attempt for the best chances.

Mystic forging is random but based off of what my friend said 200 attempts the per precursor make crafting one cost around 200g-320g(4rares 25-40s per rare, 1g-1.6g per attempt). So I would just save up all of you money and test your luck if the precursor you want to craft is above 500g.

Ascended gear is a 5% stat increase not a 10% stat increase btw. Not sure why people are saying it is a 10% increase.

It is a 5% base damage increase, 5% stat increase, so a 5% increase overall.

only that’s not how it works, when you combine 5% base damage, with zerker gear it’s not a 5% damage increase. The 5% compounds.

Interesting wearing zerker gear in wvw. Still it is a 5% overall stat increase. Yes dps is calculated differently but can not say it is a 10% increase to overall dps when it is not.

Ascended gear is a 5% stat increase not a 10% stat increase btw. Not sure why people are saying it is a 10% increase. Also wvw is not spvp everyone is not suppose to be on equal footing. Some players use foods while others do not. Should I be penalized because someone else did not take the time to use food in wvw no. So why would A-net nerf ascended gear because some people do not feel like crafting ascended gear? The idea of a fair fight in wvw is pointless, if you want a fair fight go to spvp. Otherwise adapt your current wvw environment and learn to pick your fights.
