Can we please get the material costs reduced on silk. It’s by far the most crazy expensive ingredient now.
Reduce Silk Bolts back to 2 scraps per bolt, and reduce the Ascended Spools down to 50.
Why did they even do this in the first place?
Because for over a year silk has been selling for below the vendor price. Until that ascended armor update silk was always the most abundant item on TP. Now silk has some value.
I want yakslapper currently it will take me 100yrs at my current pace. 10k yaks dead in a year. Surprise that the easiest wvw ap is ultimate dominator is 250k kills which is possible but yakslapper is 1million kills :P. Still should have just started a new thread instead of bring this up again.
It would not explain why quite a few ppl have extraordinary luck or at least better luck than others. Its like hitting the jackpot thrice with the same stakes as ordinary ppl and anecdotally it would seem to be more than just one person. Maybe a statistician could sift through the data and analyze objectively whether is there bias or not.
I have made say ~400 mystic clovers. The first time it took 400 obsidian shards, 100 the next, 200, 300, 200. Mystic clover have a 35% chance to drop with both recipes but some times you are lucky other times you are not but if you do it enough times it averages out. The precursors I have found: bought 4, mystic forged 1 (300g in attempts), looted 3. After I mystic forge that one precursor I tested my luck again 1000g in attempts and nothing.
The problem with precursors is the drop rate is so low that it will greatly very from person to person. 0.4% chance 250 attempt with rares so 1 in 250 people will be very lucky on their first attempt but most will not. If you have the money to mess around in the precursor market like my friend (he has 12 legendaries and a dozens of precursors) it averages out.
Few players have that much money to mess around with the mystic forge to find that out. It is best to just buy a precursor unless you normally make hundreds of gold a week. Alot of the players that complain do not realize how small of a chance you have really have to get a precursor.

Well the chances of getting a precursor are extremely low. ~250 attempts with rares ~160 attempts with exotics on average or 0.4% and 0.6%. This is based on forum post, my friend that is in the precursor market and reddit. That is why it is RNG. Gamble’s fallacy is a good way description of the mystic forge.

Spent ~5000g for the 5 legendaries I have. Current value = 9000g.
Seems like more people are going for legendaries causing the price of t6 mats to increase. Rare prices are increasing to so the cost of mystic forge attempts for precursors are higher. The price of the gift of fortune has doubled since the last time I made a legendary.
…Their are no t3 gates. By the time a keep get upgraded to t3 walls their are more than enough AC’s on the gate to stop people from pvd. 30people do about the same amount of damage as a ram. I do not have a issue with PvD if a keep is fully upgrade your server should have a small defense force watching it during prime time hours.

Glicko ratings currently mean nothing, since a LOT of people have moved around just before the Season started, and Glicko hasn’t had time to adjust. HoD sounds like it has more coverage than FA at the moment. That said, they’ll probably still lose because it sounds like they’re squishy/uncoordinated (at least according to CD/NSP).
You are right the rating have not had time to readjust since some guild transfered 2 weeks ago. Still last time Ioj fought HoD they got stomped and FA is doing that to Ioj right now. Number can only take you so far until you encounter something unexpected like a guild wiping a pug zerg. HoD has not fought a t2 quality server in months and the last time the score was 470k to 50k. The score will not be that lopsided but the only time the match-up will be close is during reset.
FA is 400 ranking point above HoD and 200 above YB, so get ready for a huge shock in coverage. Just being 100 ranking point above a server mean they enough coverage to stomp you. Skill that just varies no matter what server you are on, but the higher tiers have more guilds experienced in wvw. The next match-ups will have alot of lopsided matches

I find that funny that JQ is complaining about 2v1. Everyday during Oceanic/SEA times a 60 BG and JQ zerg would push TC t3 bay in JQ BL. We would wiped both of them for hours. Did not lose it until monday, when the fragment of TC NA/Ocx guilds could no long put in the hours to defend it.
Going from WvW ppt JQ is lower during NA so that would be the best time to try and get transfer to JQ. BG is lower during late NA and that is the best time to try for them. If you want to get on TC try to transfer in the morning/ midday. It seem like the Op is a SEA player SoS has a good SEA population and no long queues like a t1 server.

Match-ups are going to be by tournament points with Glicko rating as tie-breakers according to the blog.

Things to remember this is not season 1 this is season 2. In season 2 they are using a system similiar to a swiss style tournament. The match-ups will force your server to matched up against people in the same tier most of the time assuming their are no upsets.

So it just depends on how you look at it. Match-ups by Winner vs winner or points total at the end of the week. The first has you fighting the same tier match-ups 4 times or the 2nd has you fighting it 3 times. First one the winners of each tier are rewarded more and the 2nd one only ranking matter by the end.

Overall this trait is can give mainhand dagger permanent weakness. If you can interrupt. That is something only spamming earth staff 1 can do. With the new gm you can do it with a limited amount of time in air.
This is not the season 1 league. This new season uses a swiss-style match-up system where the winner will fight the other winner servers. This means that the loser of t1 and winner of t2 will constantly swap places for 7weeks. SoS will finish 2nd in a 7 week period since they will have more wins than JQ or TC. Unlike season 1 were JQ/TC would come in 2nd.

Never turn karma into gold. Since the nerf it’s a heck of a lot harder to come by. I know it isn’t a currency that everyone needs or uses, but there are much better ways to get linen than to use karma. You never know when/if you will need it and you will be very sad when you have to farm for it and it takes forever.
Hum I have 2million karma left out of the ~12million karma I have used all game. I know that orrian boxes use to be a good way to use karma before A-net nerfed it. Was getting 20g for 1million karma in boxes at that time. With Karma to linen I am getting 25g for 250k karma. Karma is the only thing I can not get rid of still have 500 obsidian shard with other ascended mats.
Every other week will have the same unbalanced match-up: FA-IoJ-SoR, SBI-Bp-NSP, YB-HD-CD. I expect the final for the other 9 server leagues if their are no upsets 1-4-2-7-5-3-8-6-9. Assuming their are no upsets the 7 week NA Silver league final will be.

The swiss-style match-ups make the winning servers fight winning servers and losing server fight losing servers. Example this will force FA to go up against t3 servers half of the time and the winner of t4 and t5 the other half. No server will be matched up against one that is higher than 6 ranks from it. Which is unlike season 1 were you only have 1 maybe 2 competitive match-ups during the entire 7 weeks. This season you will get a same tier match-up half of the time.

Use karma buy lvl kitten blue cloth items. Mystic forge 4 of them. The item you get back can be salvaged for linen.
When you ignore our traits we have very limit ways of survival in our core mechanics. Swap attunement to water drop a heal/regen that can easily be outdps. Easy to see why most elementalist use cantrips, spec for boon duration, 15water or 30arcane.
Also, his damage mod come from being above 90% hp and not dodge for that extra 30% dmg. That is why his first strikes wreak his enemies. One thing I notice is that he is using hydromancy and fire sigils which currently share a cd.
mmm the build gives 40% damage mod and i’m running 3,200 base attack with 94% crit damage so even though some might have crap gear and maybe semi afk the build does a lot of dps.
What food are you using I know it is sharpening stones and what esle?
They will not update that until after the first match. All servers have 0 points. A bracket would only reflect that atm.
Yes but it is not reliable since it depends on the amount of supply I can get and when it sells. Most days I consider 10-25g a hour good. Still it is always profitable just not reliable when you get the profits back.
Just pointing out the queues for reset. Not like that is my normal wvw time anyways :P.
Hard to determine what the best duos are since the skill of roamers greatly very. It is the same with everyones specs. You can go high burst to take down camps before swords pop or make a dueling spec to kill other roamers. Just depends on your goal when roaming looking for fights or playing for objectives.

Ascended gear is a small advantage but skills, profession, spec, esc matter too. Ascended armor is barely noticeable. Ascended weapons is easy to notice when someone crit you for 500pt more than a normal weapon.
The supply will drop and the demand will drop too. So the final price of uni dyes will be questionable. Currently expecting dyes to increase in price for awhle not sure what will happen after the update. But you can still get uni dyes for laurels.
The precursors I have gotten. Bought 4, mystic forged 1(with rares), and 3 from wvw kills(mostly solo). The average of attempt per precursor from the guy I know in the precursor market (one of those people that has 12 legendaries for his character) and all of the reddit/forums posts. 250 attempts with rares and 160 attempts with exotics. That is say 1.4g per rare attempt (35s rares) and 4g per exotic attempt (1g exotics). So a 0.6% chance with exotics and a 0.4% chance with rares good luck :P.
I saved the gift of fortune at the end of all of my legendaries. I would have 100-150 of all t6 mats by then(10weeks), so I did not have to buy as many. I just bought 5-10 t6 mats after I farmed, so I would not waste that money on other things buy the end of it. Also ask your guildies for donation they tend to be very helpful.
Lockouting everyone from the supply of a item is some you can only do for a limited amount of time. Control a crafting item was something you could do for a limited amount of time(4-8hrs). That was before some ascended items hit the market. This is a global market eventually someone will come up with the same idea. Posting about how you make money on TP will only reduce your profits. Some do this once they have to much money to spend and their idea greatly effect prices.
The big issue with controlling a market is figuring out how to lock other people out of getting the supply of that good. With some many ways to get some items that is hard to do. So the only markets people tend to control are the limited items like jetpacks, monacles, so on. Once an item drop under 5 supply you see someone buy them all out and reprice them.
You can also buy t3/4 salvage mid level kitten cloth items.
Fire- With a scepter and signet of air build you can blind upto 24 times every minute.
Air- With dagger it is possible to permanently weaken a enemy with just air skills: lighting touch and shock aura. Not sure if the lightning rod damage will fit into the burst playstyle of Air specs.
Earth – Condition builds tend to stay in earth longer than other attunements so it helps. Can be used as a skill based defense to stop known burst combos.
Water – Anyone that gets healing power is doing it for their group. Increased heals on allies greatly improves that (even though few elemental go support).
Arcane – Better for a bunker build or dealing with range enemies but arcane evasion is better for solo.
All of the new GM traits are defensive. We did not get one to improve our offense. Still curious what boss we have to do to kill to get each one.
One with air is a useful trait if you make a dagger fresh air build that lacks swiftness. One with air enables you to ignore slows. With fresh air you will be able to close the gap easily. It is useful with a 0-30-0-30-10 build.
With D/F I find P/D thieves easy to deal with. With D/D you have burning speed, magnetic grasp and Rtl to close the gap. Frost burst, earthquake, and updraft to disable them a bit to keep them in range. I am starting to think it maybe your spec, if you were outplayed this badly.
Well this trait seems to be good for pvp or wvw types. In pve not so much. A cleric elementalist will be able to more healing for pvp group play.
Videogamermike you are one of the people flippers make a profit from. Putting up a item cheaper than it is worth enable them to flip it for a nice profit. Supply and demand is the simple way of understanding the TP. You have various ways to get a item and the people that have uses for it.
Crafting items are the most sold items on the TP not weapons/armor. It is easy enough for anyone to level a craft in this game. Finding the mats is the hardest aspect of crafting. The good looking skins have rarer mats than the standard skins.
I expect the prices for core to be similiar to the catchers backslot items in a few months. Investing in power core are a long term investment anyways. It will be awhile until the supply drops below 100 and becomes very profitable.
Solo roaming:
1. Kill yaks
2. Report enemy zergs you see and where you see them, kill the slow ones :P.
3. Take camps
4. Tap waypointed keeps/upgraded towers.
5. Kill sentries
6. Group up with other roamers to take bigger objectives (bloodlust, towers, undefended keeps).
Overall havoc accounts for close to a half of the total ppt. Dolyaks give 3 instant ppt when killed, sentry give 1 ppt and invaders give 1 ppt (with BL). The instant ppt you can get accounted for ~226k of the total ppt in t1 last week and 84k total ppt comes from camps over the week. That is ~301/686 total ppt. (error with total ppt fixed 460k ppt from objectives)

Tornado grants triple power, double precision/vitality. Since meteor is a 3s cast 7sec duration you get 4 sec with buff meteors falling. Tornado last 15 sec. Tornado works with glyph of storms too but glyph of storms does not hit as hard as meteor shower.
Even if you make it to gold league it will be horrible for the 5-6 place servers. FA tanked just to get into silver league last time :P. Mag and SoS did not score above 150k during a week last season.
Check around midday-pre daily reset. You can see the price change on gems if you look at the graph. Overall if gems are 10g =125gem or higher it is a good time to buy. That tend to happen right before patch day too.
I can see conjures becoming main weapon set but A-net would drop the extra stated added by them. Then make overall balance changes. Would prefer if A-net just adds another weapon set that does not conflict with the current conjures (mace, sword, torch).
Overall flame axe and magnetic shield are the weakest conjures. I can not fine a use for flame axe and magnetic shield. Magnetic shields damage is good condition dmg but it is a replacement weapon for a condition spec which tend to be one of the worst spec for elementalist in pve. Flame axe is similiar to fire d/d but seems like it does less dps.
Yea arcane precision is just a weird trait. Only a 10% chance if IF you crit, so it is more like a 3-10% chance of it happening.
It only took 2 attempts on my elementalist. Dodge, mist form, stability stomp. I am like wtf are people complaining about? The hologram achievement are harder than that.
Save money for your precursor first. The rest of the item you can get slowly. The t6 item you will have to buy eventually. This is no way to easily get a precursor. Other than that try to make 1-2hrs a day where you just farm for money. Legendaries can be all stats so the only issue is what sigil you want to use. http://gw2legendary.com/ to keep up with you legendary progress. Gift of fortune has greatly increased in price since I made a legendary 850g for it.
Dungeons are good money. CoF, SE, Hotw, AC they are the fastest dungeons to do for gold. Also you can use your tokens to get a good looking set. TP is the best way to make money once you find a niche in it.
That was me that said that were banned from TC bl. Was just being silly. On reset night BG was not able to get onto TC bl without d/c so, TC/JQ has long time to siege up their corners. Trying to defend your weekend t3 keeps gives your server alot of ppt.
