This kinda works both ways. If people wouldn’t jump into raid and lie saying they have a ton of experience when they don’t then people would be as interested in proof that they had the experience

Pysical skills need to be chain skills like thief physicals are.

I don’t think it will get nerfed. Warrior badly needs the sustained survivability it gives

For some reason that I’m not sure of, Warrior damage in pvp is fine. It’s fine in wvw and open world pve as well. But when you start getting boons and banners and spirits and so on then almost every class leaves them in the dust

All they need to do is release 3-4 raid wings a year and people will be satisfied

Guard would be a good choice as it can be use in every fight

My wish is that axe mastery is dropped down a tier and dual wielding and burst mastery get put in same trait line

Raids make perfect sense. They are difficult enough to keep the more Hardcore players interested long after they have done everything else but don’t take a ton of man hrs to make compared to living story and such.

Switch to mercenary amulet and nightmare runes.

Also PS war is good but they are a dime a dozen. That being said, the high survivability and the fact that screwing up on the rotation isn’t a big deal make them great for learning the raid fights

Ele is for damage and chrono is team support with blocks, distortion, quickness, boon sharing and alacrity

Just cause you can do fractals on a sub 80 doesn’t mean you should. Most people wanna get in and get them done. They don’t wanna take the chance that a sub 80 is really bad. Even if they are good people usally don’t wanna spend the extra time it takes due to loss of dps. It’s kinda like raids. You can do them in exotics but y? Unless it’s just for lols

So I’ve been playing a lot of auramancer lately and while it is effective and fun , it lack the damage to do much other than support so I have an idea that I’ve been tossing around for a hybrid damage ele let me know what you think

PS tank with knights is viable but is completely out classed by every other tank build of the other classes.

If I understand it correctly they didn’t necesarilly nerf the warrior though. It seems like it had something to do with a bug that made firefields overlap and tick double or something along those lines.
But the change in King of Fires might contribute a little as well.

The fire fields didn’t overlap but an enemy could be standing in more than on of them at a time causing each field to tick on them.

It’s not that warriors can’t do ok in pvp it’s that the skill cap on it is so high right now. You have to be an extremely good warrior to consistently compete with good players

On no updraft gorseval burnzerk is still viable but far from optimal. Anything else and its not really viable. So yeah not really worth using

I would still make the argument that strength vs scholar is dependent on team comp

Scholar vs strentgh is less than 1% difference in max team dps (25 might, fury ,banner, ect). But in a group with only 1 war strength will be much better as coupling it with dumplings can allow a single war to might cap all the dps people.

I have to find it but it indicates that there may have been more than 6 elder dragons at one time. It’s a kinda vague references and doesn’t give any details as to what the other dragon(s) may have been linked to

There is a text somewhere that indirectly hints that the elder races did actually take down 1 dragon

When running without a PS Warrior or Hammer DH, I’ll often use a scepter/warhorn condi build that rotates between fire and earth. The dps is mediocre but it provides might, fury, and protection to the rest of the group. I think a better comparison for this build is to PS Warrior since they fill the same role.

While this build does supply a decent amount of group support, it doesn’t even come close to PS war once you factor in EA and banners.

Are you asking for a solo build or a group build?

Warriors are more a “necessary evil” than an actual desired class. Their damage is pretty low and they are only brought for might stacks and party buff. A lot of groups are only running 1 in raids now. Pvp they are aren’t the bottom of the barrel they are the dirt the barrel sits on. So unless you really want to play warrior, I would recommend a different class.

The problem with saying warrior is crap because they r suppose to be the noon class is that you actually have to be good to play them well in pvp. If you spill that over into pve it’s still true as thief and Rev r both easier to play in raids/fractals

In wvw warrior is ok because the high stat cap gives wars what they need to take people out before their stances run out. In pvp it’s terrible. It is so bad that no one is asking for a warrior nerf for the frist time in forever

So warriors have a pretty safe spot right now in pve with the massive amount of offensive support they bring (PS and banners). I also feel PS is a balanced build that does low personal damage for large team dps gains but, I would like to see a true dps warrior spec that would be viable for raid, fractal and so on. So I have a couple of simple changes that I think would help

Frist let’s look at the weapons. So hammer, mace, and shield are cc weapons so they are not good candidates for a dps spec. Sword and LB are hybrid condi/direct damage so a buff to them would work which I’ll get to latter. All this leaves us with GS, rifle and axe. Rifle is range so it should never be top dps. GS already has PS so it has a place to fill already so let’s go with axe

The buff to off hand axe is nice but not enough to make it worth while to take dps axe over PS support. A couple of simple changes could fix this.

1. Move axe mastery to master tier to compete with Forceful GS. This would give axe a much need dps increase over gs and dual axe is a 20% gain in crit damage. Moving to this tier also allows the warrior to keep bezerkers power.

2. Put dual wielding and burst mastery in the same trait line on different tiers. This might be a little hard than just a swap and go as some balance my be needed but a 3 ways swap might work with dual wielding replacing banner trait, banners replacing burning arrows and bring arrows ( with a buff) could replace dual wielding. I think the traits fit the lines best that way

These 2 changes would give axe/axe a huge dps increase while also taking away the might giving support of PS to keep it balanced.

Getting back to sword and LB. Sword could be as simple as increasing bleed duration to give it extra sustained damage after an intro period or increase the stacks inflicted per attack. For LB you could put burning arrow base line but I don’t think it would help enough to make anything other that LB 2 and burst really worth while. Adding bleed to LB auto and moving burning arrow to a usable spot for condi war might work.

There are many options for increasing warrior dps but I feel these would be pretty easy changes to make that wouldn’t require too much balancing.

While I agree that 100b should never go Mobile, but I think 100b need a serious damage buff.

(Hard to setup -> High reward) concept is not working properly, the reward is just not high enough and the setup is much harder than it was before HoT.

I agree the risk (or cost)/reward ratio is too high in a pvp/wvw situation, but I suspect part of the motivation for damage downgrades over the year was pve, where no setup is generally required.

If that is a concern, then simply reducing the channel time would boost 100b in pvp/wvw without greatly affecting pve.

That’s why anet should split pvp and pve balance

Bezerker is damage , condi , and survivability line. There r 3 traits for each aspect. One in each tier and they are all usable. Berserker is not the problem. The problem is the rest of the warrior is a mess ( defense is ok but not great). The lines either have no synergy withing themselfs or they have “must have traits” in the same tier.

Ur weapon depends on what ur doing. General rule for dps is if it’s a large hit box then use staff with bolt to the heart. If it’s a medium or small hit box use dagger/warhorn with fresh air

Yes condi ele is viable but not even close to optimal. Necro and engi out class it in condi dps. Necro condi is also easier to play

i play scrapper , but in solo , i switched to cleric ele becouse in my opinion it is one of the best class for going solo … can do everything and can fight everything. Low damage, but not so low with tempest and great survivability. in my opinion it is one of the strongest class at moment

From pvp side warrior sustain damage is fine. The problem is chills, blinds, cripple, and immob make it very hard to land hits. Add in the lack of sustained survivability to melee targets reliably and it takes warriors out of team fights.

More on the point of the OP. If they want warrior to be a spike and run class then yes we need a huge damage buff or more skills to grant temp invuln to moment impairment, blinds and blocks.

Hammer primal suffers from same problem as LB primal. It’s hard to place then right.

Ok so I didn’t read the whole thread but if u think Ele is in a bad spot u don’t know what ur talking about. Shout auramancer is almost un killable except by boon corruption builds and pumps out tons of team support. It is the new shout bow only better

Transference is ok but this is set up as more of a self sustain build that has group support as a side effect rather than main focus. If you ran it full support then I would definitely run transference.

Its good agaist condi which is a good chuck of the people I’m facing. A bit weak agaist spike builds.

Healing signet is good but can easily be countered with nothing more than poison.

That goes for all healing…. and it’s not countered, just reduced. So if you’re passive healing is merely “adequate” for most situations, then yeah poison will make it largely useless.

Any build that doesn’t include some kind of condi cleanse is going to have a lot of problems no matter what.

Yes it effects all healing but it hurt HS worse because it reduces each tick then does enough damage on top of that to soak up almost all of the remaining healing

I agree that builds should have condi cleanse but that part of the problem with warrior. They only have 3 non traited condi cleanses. 2 of them (mending and signet of stamina ) are pretty lack luster.
