Or how about changing it to a 100% CD reduction? (and not being used on auto-attacks).
Herald of Ventari
Yeah I faintly remember having seen it during the pre-BWE, but not this BWE.
Edit: checked my footage it wasn’t displaying during pre-BWE too.

I would like to see some one with ventari/glint (staff+ —- + shield ) combo on teh next beta.
I wanted to do that anyway, you can fill that blank with Mace.
Mace has triple blast finisher and fire field on low cooldowns.
Apart from AA, it has some support aspect. And a Poison.I imagine Sword MH could be taken for the long evade, though. There are options.
well since i dont own HoT i will have to wait and see if any of the streammers will use it :P.
Don’t worry Staff-Sword/Shield cleric is what I intent to test =p.
Herald of Ventari
I’m not fully sure but I remember him (roy) mentioning in the massively article and the POI that the other underwater weapon is the harpoon gun with it’s auto attacks being the reverse.

Mordremoth’s voice is great – could sylvari players hear it more, perhaps? It would be cool and a little creepy if every one in a while (not regularly enough to be annoying) he would start talking as you run around verdant brink, and npc sylvari might react, too. ..
I’m not sure what you meant by this but as far as I can remember only sylvari can hear mordremoths voice and I’m fairly sure we will hear it more.

Doing what secondary professions did in gw1 is what E.Specs are for.
Herald of Ventari
Even currently all illusionist stage performers in GW2 are Mesmers as far as I can remember (like Wozmak the Wonderful). The suggestion of it being a E.Spec With kits is the closest that you’ll get to your proposal.

I suggest having a option to always show all health bars over characters. That would allow us to judge the overall health of players in a region of space without having to mouse-over them. This would help a lot during open-world events and zerg fights.

You guys have to consider that outgoing heal wasn’t working. If it did work we would have been able to heal around 4k-6k per Natural Harmony.
Herald of Ventari
I personally prefer it being movable however having a trait to increase movement speed or range would be useful. Auto-summon (when you swap into ventari) should be a given though.

Healing done by the ventari tablet is not affected by Outgoing healing bonus. (Staff 4 works normally)
Herald of Ventari
the healing stat should govern outgoing heals, not incoming heals. its just silly how it works now.
but governing outgoing heals is what it does now …
What if we increase outgoing heal like in the ventari GM trait? That way healing would be more useful without making yourself more tanky.
Haven’t been following revenant stuff but I am guessing that is like the ele gm trait, sigil of benevolence and the WvW medic buff.

Colin later clarified his comments on reddit and indicated not the dedicated anything would be required, only that it wouldn’t be useless to have full support character.
PSA: any healing you can achieve from a single dedicated healer you can surpass with 5 berserkers using coordination to blast water fields and trait/gear for perma-regeneration.
Thanks for the info I will check it out.

If it is as bad as you say it is it’s actually a good thing. It makes dedicated support mandatory for Half-Baked.
FTFY, and yes, that’s bad for GW2.
We just don’t do it since it’s been mostly bugged since the beginning of it. We just do the easier ones and get the comms.
Do you realize that a dedicated support will be required for the HoT challenging content?
You do realize that a dedicated support twill certainly not be required for the HoT challenging content right?
This game is fun!

It is also the reasoning behind revenant ventari/staff spec.
It seems that I need to clarify that I won’t be playing support or have the intention to do so I have been playing glass canon builds for over 10 years…

…but asking for blue skin makes one assume you want to play something more fantastical.
I do. It’s hardly a crime, is it not so? My first character was a Sylvari, my second character was a Sylvari. My third character was a Charr but I just couldn’t bring myself to like his appearance. And when I tried to create Norn or Human characters… well… the pretty boring skin color was the thing that bothered me the most. So I came here to ask if any of you feel the same.
It seems like the answer is no.

1.Conditions and healing skills do not scale equally by the amount of Condition damage or Healing power (respectivly) therefore showing a percentage would be meaningless unless you show it for every possible healing skill or condition.
2. Not all profession stats can be converted to a meaningful percentage aswell.

First two are an example of how swords should be held and the last two just seem silly.
I would just like to remind you that not all swords are held close to the hilt in real life.
(This specific example though you are right)

That MMO uses cryengine making most of the work already done (by Crytek). GW2 uses a enhanced version of their GW engine requiering them to port their engine first. And porting a engine is not something simple.

Can do that with hundred blades, that’s about it.
30k-38k yes but 50k? I don’t think so
Yeah, you can reach 50k on low-ish armor targets when you’re solo. In groups you can reach upwards of 90-100k if you have the proper buffs.
And do not forget the recent symbolic avenger bug.

I don’t want to watch YouTube videos because I want to experience the Dungeon cold the first few times through. I want to figure out my own strategies and tactics.
And isn’t optimizing yourself to run a dungeon a certain way just as lazy as pressing 1 all the time? You reduced it to a GPS series of direction rather than adapting to the situation as it unfolds. What’s more fun then, following a sequence of instructions by rote and thus beating it 100% of the time or engaging it dynamically where failure is always possible outcome but success is a thrill?
Personaly I agree with you. I do not understand what the fun is in doing hard content and following a guide, finding out how to solve it is part of the fun.
Does anet read forum posts? Because i cant believe a company would make such a huge mistake that even tho 90%of the players in the forums ask a harder gameplay, and more challenging content, and they still make the game easier…
Yes, they do read forum posts. Lately they haven’t been answering because they are busy with the expansion.

no way this stat combination would ever be “op” precision virtually always trumps ferocity.
There are quite a few professions with trait choices that allow them to get a critical hit percentage similar ( and sometimes better ) than zerker without putting a single point into precision.

If you really love hardcore go do high level dungeons in FFXIV. Personally, I game to relax.
so if we like a challenge we’re not even allowed to play this game anymore? if you don’t want a challenge then ignore the challenging content and i’ll ignore the easy content
They’re adding challenging content in HoT. They haven’t talked about it specifically yet.
that’s a shame, i just uninstalled gw2 and now i’m playing FFXIV
Okay. I thought the game sucked. If you like it, by all means, play it. Have fun.
i can’t tell if you’re messing with me or if you didn’t get the joke
He is messing with you.
Herald of Ventari
There’s no difficult content in this game that I particularly enjoy. I can do it. I HAVE done it. I’m not lazy. I’m not interested in what you’re interested in. That doesn’t mean I don’t care. It just means that’s not my thing.
ok its not your thing and thats completely fine. no problem with that.
but why are people like you against something that wouldnt affect them at all?!im not interested in the stuff that you enjoy, but do you see me on forums saying that i am against content for players like you? no.
Did you see the part where I said I agree we need more challenging content? Because I said it, in the first post you replied to me with.
I’m not against more challenging content being added to the game. I just think that most of the challenging content tends to get ignored. It always has in this game.
People ran CoF path 1 over and over again, not CoF path 3, which is definitely harder.
Since we are talking about CoF how soloable is CoF story mode (and explorable) is it like AC? (I feel like doing it however I do not have a party that I fell comfortable with).
On topic:
Being ingored by most of the players isn’t a large problem as long as it exists.
Herald of Ventari
The thing is; how do you define “challenging”?
For me personally its having to use my wits and tools at hand to accomplish my goals, be it pve or pvp. Pve is less challenging because you can exploit the AI, but that’s fine by me, because it still has some challenge.
Pvp is the true challenging content for me because you have to outwit people in higher levels of play, play against the players, not just the build/profession. It’s dynamic, crazy things happen: be it stomps or comebacks.
My issue with people wanting harder pve content isn’t asking for things that make for better content overall, like better monster AI, and things that punish stacking. Instead its this bizarre need to throw back to all the old K&J grinders most people gleefully left to come play gw2. Wasting time with damage sponge monsters that require you to memorize rotations isn’t fun, that’s drudgery. Same with instant kill bosses. I’m all for more encounters that are more dynamic and take advantage of the combat system this game provides; the molten alliance twin boss for example are pretty enjoyable.
The thing people have yet to learn is there is no challenge in wasting time.
Those old MMORPGs you played? all arbitrary difficulty.this is what challenging means to me. and it wouldnt be too hard to make stuff like that for gw2.

Herald of Ventari
For every player that wants difficult content or challenges, there’s another 100 that want to just play casually(and of those 100, probably 50% will be dedicated casual players)…which market would you go after?
You are confusing casuals with people of low intelligence. It’s possible for someone to approach a game with a casual mindset but still wanting to be challenged.
Plus, to me it seems people in here aren’t asking for the game to be made from ‘medium’ to ‘hard’ but much rather from what would qualify in most games as ‘easier than easy’ to ‘somewhat medium in difficulty’.
Tha game has so many awesome mechanics. It’s a shame they are almost never needed.
In SAB terms we (I suppose most of those requesting for challenge) want to be able to get a normal mode instead of being locked into infantile. (A small amount of tribulation wouldn’t be bad though.)

GW2 Mac beta client uses cider as far as I can remember
The Mac Beta client was first released on September 18, 2012.
According to an official press release,5 ArenaNet worked with “TransGaming, whose Cider technology allows us to mirror the game experience as closely as possible between the PC and Mac.” In other words, the game was developed for Windows and ported to Mac, allowing the game to be updated on both platform simultaneously.
However, Mac users should expect decreased performance due to the porting process.

just for clarity, to me casual means, I don’t play all day, just to relax. No plans on joining some elite squad to earn trophies, doesn’t mean i wouldn’t mind sparring them when i have a moment.
It seems that most here needed to be reminded of that.
What I believe OP wants to change is the dificulty of the content, not the amount of time you are required to play to be on par.
BTW great rig

I have several questions about changing stats on the ascended gears with the mystic forge.
1. Will changing stats unlock other colored skins of the ascended weapons?
2. Will the skin remain the same after I’ve changed the stats? Or do I have to reskin every time the gear goes through the mystic forge?
3. Will changing stats destroy the runes/infusions/sigils on my ascended gear?
From how I understood you create through the forge a new gear with the desired stat so I can say.
1. Yes
2. It will reskin
3.
This is for weapon and armor currently – weapons use the same recipe as armor to stat change except they use inscriptions to allow you to change instead of insignias.
Alas yes it does destroy the runes and sigils in the item, the mystic forge doesn’t currently have a way to allow us to do this kind of stat changing without it working that way.
Also: Shout out to Matt P and Linsey who did all the hard work to make this possible
