Sure, ignore the +7s per box.
They can ‘grief’ all they want, they can’t cover all 5 servers (BG/JQ/SoR/TC/DB) that do it frequently and zerg it hardcore…
You would be wrong, they have and do cover all 5 servers.
Of course, at certain times of the day. But I have not seen an instance where I guested on all three servers and they were all being griefed at the same time.
Let’s say you want to buy 2000 Powerful Bloods.
Price breakdown is as follows:
0-500 @ 32S
501-1000 @ 40S
1001-2000 @ 1G – 3G (these quantities have been sitting here since release)
As a result, you can imagine the problem of buying up everything in bulk. What if you suddenly enter a priced tier that you weren’t expecting? You’d be overpaying a ton.
Yes, there is a system in place right now that sometimes accounts for this, but then you would end up with the same problem as before. Having to buy stacks one at a time in order to get the proper price point.
They can ‘grief’ all they want, they can’t cover all 5 servers (BG/JQ/SoR/TC/DB) that do it frequently and zerg it hardcore.
I’ve already made my +500g from the event, so I’ve come out on top already. Anything extra is gravy.
What about those that farm? Nothing changes for you unless you didn’t bother playing for the past 2 weeks.
There’s a lot of gold in the economy now. Prices have increased. But that also works for you incase you get said items and sell them.
I don’t even know where to get these skins?
As someone mentioned earlier, best to go to a gauntlet arena with 2 people and be the 3rd.
And if they too are trying to get Liadri, even better since you can watch them.
First off, I don’t recall Anet saying that they would “keep” stuff from GW1. Remember that GW1 is not an MMO. To expect all or nearly all aspects from GW1 to transfer over here would be unwise.
1.) I agree that combos as it is are somewhat underpowered. Combos, especially those when working with few players in easy situations don’t last long. However, if you want to play efficient in dungeons, you will see a lot of combos being used for hardcore groups, especially speed runs.
And in WvW, any competent zerg uses combos since they can be the difference between life or death.
I agree with you friend on the use of the fire field. If you are in a simple PvE situation, facing off normal mobs or even a veteran – the time and stress to worry about combo fields is not worth it.
If you had a 10-man guild group working on a champion, however, I can understand wanting to stack might.
2.) I agree we need instant build changers. I also think we need a way to /save or /load our armor set ups. Rift had this and it was wonderful.
3.) You’re not allowed because it would be very easy to farm and work against others who are not playing with the guild. Remember that crab karka game? How unfair would it be if you had one entire guild pick on you because they want to get their members to have achievements? It’s not fun.
4.) Tournaments I’m fine with
5.) Don’t mind hardcore mode, but I can imagine the casuals would have a problem with it.
6.) Balance is hard to do, but they constantly adjust it. When you have this many classes in game and weapons, it’s difficult
7.) If you don’t want to dedicate the time and effort for achievement points, then you don’t deserve them. They’re called ‘achievement’ for a reason.
8.) I’m sure a lot of people here would hate soulbound titles
Mithril ore goes up and down like that. The demand is largely based on people who craft a lot.
I personally have gone through about 30,000 mithril ore in the past 3 weeks preparing for new legendaries.
Yes. Made 400g so far in 4-5 days of farming.
I am sure others have mentioned, the economic impact having such a sudden influx of gold becoming available could possibly create. But hey whatever let’s just get dat loot yo cuz yolo.
We hoard gold now because we know it’ll be nerfed. John Smith said it was a concern awhile ago.
And when gold deflates, we have more purchasing power. So as long as you’re patient, you win in the end.
Since when? I swear you could get the chest more than once a day in the past…I remember doing Shatterer more than once in a day and getting more chests.
Maybe i’ve been away too long
The “day” resets at 8pm EST time.
So you could get a chest twice in one calendar day if you did one before 8 and another after 8.
If you do two bosses before 8 you only get 1 chest.
If you are talking about the physical chest, you can get 1 per day per character.
I farm the hell out of this event. I make tons of gold.
But I can honestly say the people who are farming it are faaaar more likely to get banned than the people destroying cauldrons.
But it’s not related to the event. It’s related to their reaction. People kitten and whine and encourage everyone to make false reports on the ‘griefer’.
Do I dislike people like you who ruin the farm? Yeah. But my attitude is “deal with it”. I can’t do anything so what’s the point of complaining?
One guy on SoR comes on at 8 and just ruins everyone’s farm. But people keep spamming “DONOT ATTK CAULDRONS PLSSS” and cussing the guy out and verbally abusing him.
That guy is surely not going to get banned but the ensuing reactions from other farmers will get themselves banned.
And guess what? I guested on another server and went on my merry way to making 40g that night.
“Deal with it”
I think it was pretty obvious guys. Isn’t ecto up 22s or so?
The market has waaay to many gold faucets right now.
I don’t think nerfing the rate of rares/boxes/mats should be nerfed, but the amount of silver from the boxes definitely should.
I think undercutting is good because it helps us reach equilibrium faster and efficiently. If you are undercut and your item no longer sells at that price, then that price is not appropriate for that time. It’s too expensive.
Several months ago some noob bought up all the Dusks and listed his at 800g, which was probably 150-200g higher than before. And then people started to undercut him. And it went all the way down to around 550g. 800g was nowhere near the equilibrium price and he learned it the hard way. No buyer was willing to meet that price and eventually, thanks to undercutting by other sellers, settled around 550g as equilibrium.
You have probably the weirdest definition of mobility that I’ve ever seen.
If a warrior wants to tag mobs, doesn’t their whirlwind just hit everything? GS and axe both cleave and I’m guessing you could hammer stun mobs too.
No one tags better than guardian staff #1
If Mobility = Tagging mobs (I agree that really isn’t “Mobility”)
Then yes Guardian would win that battle.
Basically in the end what I’m saying is…which class is the fastest at moving around (and tagging) the battlefield in PvE in a small area (i.e. pen/shelt)
You have probably the weirdest definition of mobility that I’ve ever seen.
If a warrior wants to tag mobs, doesn’t their whirlwind just hit everything? GS and axe both cleave and I’m guessing you could hammer stun mobs too.
Yeah you could whirlwind through mobs but then you’d have to position yourself so that when you finish you’re near the other waves.
A guardian can just stand on one spot, staff spam one wave, turn around and then staff spam the other wave. It’s just the benefit of have a ranged weapon.
Mobility may not be the best word but there really isn’t anything else for me to call it.
Quickest and most efficient at tagging mobs anywhere and everywhere?
I know it could be easier to me to just pick them both, but I wanna focus only on one right now
If you are going to solo, pick warrior.
However I suggest you take advantage of the Pavillion farming right now and run a guardian. You can level him up fast since a guardian staff can tag more mobs (and get more exp) compared to a warrior. Not to mention you can stand behind the other players getting beat on while a warrior will have to stand with everyone on the frontlines against destroyers and such.
I should probably clarify that when I’m talking about mobility I’m talking PvE farming (i.e. when there are several waves of mobs around you and you want to tag them all)
I did this a lot at Penitent camp when there would be 3 waves at a time. I’d staff 1 one group, lay down an aoe on another, then activate judge’s intervention on a 3rd. All within 3 seconds. And with the near 100% swiftness and stability/block It’s fairly easy and quick to move around.
A warrior has a much harder time tagging all those mobs (especially when separated by a large distance). I’d think a warrior would be more akin to use GS/Dual axe for farming, and would not equip bullrush or endure pain as a utility.
But yes, in terms of WvW mobility they are near impossible to catch up to.

Failing to complete an event is not an exploit. You can continue to try and label it as such but it is not and just make you look foolish no matter what kind of spin you are trying to put on it just to make yourselves look right.
While I don’t want to argue with your opinion. I will say this, a similar argument was given for the Champion Risen Giant farm on the steps up to Arah that went on for awhile a month or two ago. Look what became of that. I won’t proclaim to know that Anet changed it because they saw it as an exploit, but none-the-less it was changed. That says something.
Just because something is changed doesn’t mean it’s an exploit. Anet just wanted to alter it so that the gold/loot acquisition rate is ‘normalized’ with the rest of the game. Anet has a vested interest in making sure gold is not easy to acquire.
If it was an exploit we would all be banned – just like the people who farmed Lyssa or Grubs or the Giant.
I farmed anchorage WAAAAAAY because this patch. I used to intentionally fail it so I could farm normal embers for their lodestones. I made 10g/h. Of course people back then also griefed, and they also reported me.
But I’m still here…“exploiting”. But I guess it’s not an exploit because I’m still here?
In terms of PvE, Warrior is simply the best solo class. It has the best self-buffing capabilities, DPS is pretty high and it has the highest mobility of any class (Vol apparently has never played a warrior, warriors will dumpster guardians in a race), other than maybe thieves, but it’s pretty close.
Warriors are utilized heavily in WvW, usually in the form of a Hammer warrior jumping around stunning people. If you want to be open world farming, I wouldn’t really recommend a warrior. If you do plan on solo’ing a lot, I’d recommend a Warrior.
I actually do have a warrior – a full zerk one that I’ve had since last November
Not to mention guardian is much better at survivability and mobility.
A guardian is not more mobile than a warrior, I’m not even sure how you can come to that conclusion?
Let’s see..
-Virtue of Justice (traited) activates stability for you
-Virtue of Resolve (traited) can remove up to 3 conditions
-Stand Your Ground – stability
-Judge’s Intervention – instant 1200 range teleport on an enemy
-Staff 3 – swiftness on short cooldown
-Save Yourself – stunbreaker with swiftness that stacks
-Retreat – swiftness (and also activates aegis) that stacks
-GS 3 – leap of about 400-600 range on short cooldown
A more in-depth response:
PvE: Superior AOE. Better range abilities. Better survivability and mobility. Can maintain nearly 100% uptime on swiftness with 2/3 utilities.
WvW: Superior to warrior. In WvW, zergs are dominant, so guardian has higher chance of surviving. They also provide good CC with the hammer and staff. Also a badge dispenser. Superior healing abilities with altruistic healing and empower.
PvP: Cannot comment since I don’t do spvp
More versatile? Guardian.
More damage/farming potential? Warrior.
Somewhat
Guardian staff is one of the most valuable and overpowered weapons in the game. We can tag up to 5 mobs with an auto attack, along with a large PBAOE on short cooldown. Not to mention Empower can heal us a ton when near +4 players and give us stacks of might.
Guardian is superior to Warrior in every facet except pure DPS. The Warrior has great DPS but it is largely limited to single target or multiple targets in a closed cone.
If you want to kill stuff quickly, roll a warrior. But if you want to make a lot of gold and enjoy farming, guardian is the superior class.
Not to mention guardian is much better at survivability and mobility.
I’m sure they are constantly looking, within reason.
Remember when we couldn’t do any rollbacks? Then they implemented a fix that allowed them to do so back in November.
They’re not going to spend an absurd amount just so that NA players can play with EU players, or so that necro condition builds can be viable in zergs.
The amount of people that would be positively affected are far and few (and not worth the cost). And just imagine the inevitable bugs that could arise? It’s just not worth the hassle I think.
Because the game is a lot more polished now?
No one ever said Jenna was a good queen. For all we know she just hates the visual and performing arts.
WHAT A SHAME >:(
I farmed ‘Deadeye’ before the patch
I made -10g
Yep, I lost gold!
And that doesn’t include the gold invested for zerker warhorn, force sigils, food…
So the post just got stickied, which leads me to believe it’s 99% true.
The fact that one of the mods cannot confirm or deny just shows this.
If it wasn’t true, why did they stick it?
What I think happened was Anet’s marketing team PM’d the mods at the subreddit to sticky it as part of the hype train. And of course, they request that they do not confirm or deny. If they were to confirm it, it would be spoiling the whole ordeal.
or you know, one of the admins is playing a prank. it’s not like the gw2 reddit is official in any way.
of course it’s not official, but it’s a community. I think it’s highly unlikely the mods would do such a thing.

If it was fake, it wouldn’t be stickied. And it’s not worth risking the subreddit’s reputation
Either way, I just booked a vacation day.
YOU BETTER NOT DISAPPOINT ME ANET
I SWEAR ON DWAYNA’S BREASTS
And again, that Ring of Fire Islands has been sitting there unexplored since launch. They mentioned permanent changes to the world but we don’t get any more info than that. New zone would fit.
This is exciting. I’m just going to continue wildly speculating outrages things.
But Colin said no new dragons/zones this year.
I didn’t play much of GW1, but aren’t the White Mantle stuck in the Maguuma jungles? Perhaps we’ll see changes there.

I don’t use altruistic healing. I hope that doesn’t make me a bad guardian :/
I do, however, farm a lot, and as such I use the traits that make larger and longer symbols, as well as the two-handed mastery trait.
The thing with guardian is that it can be one of three things – a bunker, moderate DPS, or heal/support machine.
And more often than not, because of the way the guardian is designed with their consecrations and shouts, they are best used as a heal/support, especially for dungeons considering the other high DPS options out there, and the lack of need for ‘tanky’ classes.
Highly unlikely. The cost is there as a way to limit rarity.
It’s not an exploit. People are trying very, very hard to complete the event. But it’s too difficult.
Are we going to ban people for not completing an event now? How can you tell the difference between intentionally failing it and failing it because we just suck?
You can’t. And not that it matters anyway, because intentionally failing is not exploiting
The pocket watch is real and sent to media organizations to promote the event. The watch is nice and costs $65. They also received a letter.
Why would you want to do Gates of Arah which just rewards a chest and a guaranteed rare, when you can get sooooo much more loot farming the event?
Neither require all that much skill and both have the same failing of purposely favoring high end computers, fast net connection, and proximity to servers.
The clock tower would lag to the point of being dead before loading.
Liandri’s Shadow Fall has killed me many times while I see my toon a safe distance from the red circles. Not to mention the fps absolutely tanking when the Zerg moves under your arena.
Requiring high monetary output for maxed gaming machine, highest possible net speed and possible global move is not a casual game and flys in the face of the manifesto once again.
It’s not Anet’s fault that you play on a Celeron with a dial-up connection.
Clock tower is easy. The biggest problem about that was you had to learn all the jumps and it took awhile before you could attempt it.
Pretty much the same thing with Liadri. I think she’s easy.
But the 8 orb achievement is a beast and I doubt I’ll be able to get it.
Well then that would take the fun out of it. People are obviously psyched about the update but imagine if the White Mantle came back? All the GW1 vets would buckle at the knees.
But the lack of confirmation and official post from a dev makes it fun to speculate.
Well Anet do frequently post on reddit, and Colin has posted details there in the past month or so.
I wouldn’t put it past them.
AP means nothing if the guy is playing on an alt and is still learning the ropes of the profession/skills and not the dungeon.
AP means something if the guy is playing on one of his mains but doesn’t know the dungeon
AP means everything if the guy is playing on his main AND knows the dungeon extremely well.
Just proof that AP means nothing and that is actually what the person KNOWS
AP means something but not everything.
i.e. The guy with 9000 achievement points is highly likely to know more about the dungeon mechanics than a guy who has 500 points. Key word is likely.
Yep. Let’s do some simple math.
At the minimum, 1 daily equals 1 achievement point (at some point it gave you more)
And at a minimum, you can do 5 a day.
So we are almost a year in game, so let’s round it to 350 days. If you did 5 dailies you would have at least 1750 points.
Then you throw in the sPvP dailies, which give 4 a day, and that gives you another 1400.
So a person who completes their dailies for both Pve and sPvP every day since launch should have a minimum of 3150 points from dailies.
Throw in the addition of extra dailies as well as the temporary point boost, you could get about 3500.
Then throw in the monthlies and you get a ton of points.
I listed Dusk on the TP after getting incredibly lucky with a daily “Mystic Forge” achievement.
Then when the TP bot kicked in listing another 10 at exactly the same price a mine, I removed the listing, forgetting that I needed another 30 gold to list it again.I eventually scraped the gold together to list it again, but I felt a right muppet.
And what was interesting was that I purposefully watched the trading post when I relisted it, and sure enough, within seconds of posting the lowest price, something had posted an additional 10 at the same price. That it was exactly 10 both times I listed it tipped me off that someone’s using a bot to play the TP.
Why would it be profitable for a bot to relist all 10 of their Dusks to match someone who undercut them? That’s 300g wasted away each time someone lists a new Dusk price.
Why would achievements mean anything regarding skill or knowledge?
I can see them knowing where to farm slayers.
Maybe fractals since the one fractal achievement requires a lot of fractal runs to complete but that doesn’t mean they did anything past fractal level 2.
I don’t see how people could equate AP with skill or knowledge.
You do know that slayer achievements are only a fraction of the total achievement points that you can get? The maximum you can get is 624.

Being an integral part of the personal story is no protection. Outside of the personal story she only exists in small closed space – which could be changed by the events of the living story which take place AFTER she’s played her part in the personal story.
She does play an integral part. In fact she is involved in one mission (human story lvl 28) where you need to protect her.
How exactly are they going to change that up? They can’t.
Zhaitan is involved in much more of the Personal Story and he’s dead now. The Personal Story is past events. The Queen only exists in instances. Players will be able to play through the Personal Story as it happened without worrying about how it clashes with the Living Story or the open world. At some point the Personal Story has to be treated as past events otherwise every single plot and character set up by it is set in stone and frozen in time, and that puts a huge restriction on the world. The argument that it happened in the personal story so it can’t be touched in the Living Story makes no sense if they want to tell more stories in the world.
I agree with the OP. We have robots pretending to be something they are not using mesmer magic. We have a threat to the Queen’s life and two powerful mesmers to do something about it. Anise was suspiciously quick to shut Logan down when he said they should move the Queen to safety. At first I though she might be up to something, but at this point it makes more sense that the Queen is a mesmer illusion and Anise is using her to draw out Scarlet. It’s the classic body guard tactic (the other theory is that Anise and Jennah pulled a Padme and swapped places). I suspect part of the reason why Anise was made a mesmer was for the story potential of using a illusions to protect the Queen.
Anise’s job is to protect the Queen, yet the Pavilion and the Watchknights were proven to be a considerable threat to her. Without batting an eyelash, Anise said they shouldn’t cancel things because that’s what the Aetherblades want. I think Anise is setting a trap. She thinks she is one step ahead of them and a fake Queen is her way of drawing Scarlet out. Logan has been left out of the loop to make it more believable.
The part of this that doesn’t make sense to me, is why would Anise think someone was threatening the Queen’s life? If they are using a Watchknight or mesmer illusion to swap places, is this standard practice to them or is there some conflict with the Aetherblades/Scarlet and the humans that we don’t know about?
It doesn’t matter that Zhaitan is dead and the personal story is behind in times.
It’s about presenting an open world with NPC’s without spoiling the story. The open world needs to operate in a sense that it happens before the personal story. At the most, it should be neutral.
So while Zhaitan is dead, the dialog in the world does not indicate otherwise. Even the dialog among NPC’s in Orr do not state this. They just play it safe and talk about making it to the city of Arah and cleaning the corruption.
If they were to kill the Queen, it would be very odd and not appropriate story telling to have her appear in the personal story, especially since the personal story is not meant to be a ‘flashback’ but rather a current plot.
If they were to kill of Queen Jennah, they would have to make
