You are fighting against deaf ears and blind eyes, Rouven, give up :P
There is so much abuse on commanders especially in Lion’s Arch. I dunno why they think seeing a blue tag in LA is such an issue. Do you really pay attention to your minimap that much in LA? Have you not memorized the layout by now?
Or are you just jealous that there are people out there who can lay down 100g on a commander tag? Or jealous that they are comfortable being a leader and you are nothing but a follower?
I just find it funny. And I don’t even have a commander tag.
Sources: The official wiki, Woodenpotatoes, and Shade Warband’s guild chat and mumble.
Woodenpotatoes makes up better stories when goes on one of his “rants”. The ideas he comes up with are soooo much better than what the Anet writers have worked on, and its their job.
I can’t wait to see what he thinks of scarlet and what her motives are.
Those are speculations and rumors and theories.
It’s not as if he is writing an entirely new storyline.
ArenaNet has fixed and polished so much content, why are you concentrating so much on all the things they haven’t?
Because that’s the only way they can make and justify their point.
Completely ignore all the positive aspects but point out the negatives.
You see it a lot in politics (i.e. never say nice things about your opponent) and you see it here among MMO players.
…………..Whats the point on focusing positive aspects on the game, shouldnt we be focusing on the negatives so we can improve it.I don’t get your fanboy logic.
Of course we should be. But kittening and complaining about being ‘disappointed’ about not fixing the negatives is pretty short-sighted.
You expect the world out of Anet and a 100% bug-free game (go find me a bug-free game, I dare you) and fail to see that they have done a lot in QOL improvements.
I expect them to continue to fix bugs. Some take longer than others.
So what?People cant complain about stuff they are not happy about? Is that it?If I had a dead kittenroach on my plate of food and i complained about it im short-sighted.People are not allowed to complain/criticize the game?So you would want have the whole forum dedicated omg thank you Anet.Good job anet.Wow nicely done anet.Focus on the positives all they long huh.
I bet you’re one of those people who would troll on and criticize a player in sports despite him being well above average.
“Our star baseball player is getting a hit 3 times out of 10? 70% failure?! TERRIBLE PLAYER!”
There are always time for improvement, but what we have is good now. I don’t expect Anet to stop fixing bugs. If the QOL improvements started to disappear, yeah I’d get PO’d. But we have it good and I give Anet leeway. I’m not going to pick on them because they have done a good job so far.
And there is a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. All I’m seeing is pretty generic and outlandish statements (only mesmer classis good at utility? da kitten?) on how Anet is screwing up this game. That’s not constructive.
AFAIK…
it’s not a bug. It’s a ‘placeholder’ stance when you have character quality set to low.
You guys are real naive to not expect a nerf to gauntlet farming.
And if I recall, players have been clamoring for challenging content.
You got it! And now they give you daily rewards for completing the gauntlet on each boss.
So what more do you guys want?
Redo the instance. It doesn’t take longer than 5 minutes.
So people asked for achievements to be rewarding. Anet obliges with an overhaul to the system.
And now people are asking for achievements to not be rewarding and to just be historical and novelty to say “I did that”
Just shows you can never please anyone.
I dunno, Rift having to resort to F2P doesn’t show it’s better.

Why do you think Scarlet should be like all the other sylvari and not have a last name? Heck, it could just be a nickname.
Scarlet isn’t like any other sylvari, it’s pretty obvious.

From Future Update Notes:
This will allow you to get all Gw2 crafting professions Armorsmith, Artificer, Chef, Huntsman, Jeweler, Leatherworker,Tailor and Weaponsmith to level 500. When you reach 500 points you will be able to make a new tier of crafting materials. These new crafting materials will be made by combining lower tier materials. You will be able to make each of these new tier crafting materials once per day.
These new crafting materials will be used to craft account-bound ascended armour and weapons. So we will finally get to craft ascended gear, but it will take some time to make a full set as the required materials will be time-constrained.
———————————————————————————————————————————————-So basically once a month we will get the privilege to buy 250 of 2 or more t6 mats (around 150 gold, probably around 300 after this update hits), along with who knows what else to craft a single piece of ascended gear. IDK about you guys, but to people who haven’t won the lottery (precursor drop) anything over 100g is almost unreachable.
What ever happened to doing challenging content for end game gear? GW2 is becoming a game were all you have to do is spend money on gems, and 3 hours leveling a crafting profession to be in BiS gear. GW1 never had cancerous stuff like this and it was B2P, why is GW2 going down this road?
Who the heck said challenging content was needed for end game gear? End game gear was easy to get ever since release. You have dungeon rewards, karma, badges, e.t.c.
Heck I can outright get a full lvl 80 character with BIS items for 150g and 6 hours.
You can try.
And they certainly have a use. They still work on events.
However, you can make the argument that you bought this pack on the premise that it would be usable on consumables and now that has changed. But they may counter that you are more than welcome to use it until Sept. 3
Why can’t all the chests just have a chance to drop all tickets/scraps available?
Because then anet loses the opportunity to make more money.
There will always be bugs in a game. If you expect a game company to focus 100% resources on fixing bugs and not bothering with new content, you’re naive.
And so where’s the hay, then?
Sorry I kitten ed. It’s at the ogres. The hay is in the middle of the grass and not concealed
NVM found it
You don’t do it in the instance. You do it in the Crown Pavillion (which opens after you complete it )
It’s at the Ogres
(edited by Vol.5241)
This achievement is in the playhouse and requires you to jump from the upper ring to hay.
I haven’t seen one, and at this post dulfy hasn’t completed it yet. Has anyone seen it?
solution found, see below

On a similar not, how come there are several blue weapons being bought in the hundreds with a buy order 2x vendor price?
Jumping puzzles (along with mini-dungeons) will be some of the locations that begin rewarding ascended crafting materials once crafting to 500 goes live; this is intended to help make these areas more rewarding and fun to go back to and play.
I hope we don’t hear from “I’m punished by having alts” crowd chiming in here.
As a guy with 5 lvl 80’s parked at jumping puzzles, this pleases me.
Try and put in different items first. There are some recipes out there that bug out if you use a certain combination.
I’ve had several instances where I did not touch a champion that my party has, and I tagged it once and got loot.
Can we finally create a thread that will put an end to infinite argue bout “Can LS affect chars of PS or not”?
Lol NO! Besides, if we put an end to then we will just find something else to argue about. Keeps the work day moving…
I disagree – the world right now is pretty neutral. They don’t spoil any personal story details and they don’t act as if you are in the past or in the future.
If we followed your reasoning then we would have the ability to completely change and cleanse Orr. But as Colin said awhile back, they do not want to do that because it interferes with the personal story.
How odd would it look for a new player to come to this pristine, lush land of Orr and then go to a personal story and see dragons and undead all over?
And how odd would it be for a new player to go to DR and see people mourning over Jennah’s death, only to see her alive and willing to fight in the human personal story at lvl 28?You definitely have a good point. But, if we follow the same logic then where does that leave the living story? I mean basically the burden of preserving the PS severely cripples the ability to actually creative a “living” world. At some point, if the world is indeed going to be changed then wouldn’t it almost always have to effect the PS? We can’t continue to have a large section of the world that remains static if the world is indeed going to change over time.
The Living Story can still operate without having to deal with the Personal Story. Just don’t kill off major characters or destroy environments which play a huge part in the personal story.
Go look at the gradual changes of Southsun, Lion’s Arch statue/lighthouse. Even DR right now is a good example. Those changes never were mentioned in the personal story, and as such they are neutral safe.
If they want to kill off characters, it has to be the living story characters since they are easily disposable and their deaths won’t adversely affect anything that occurs beforehand.
One strat I heard was to have at 2 1500 range classes (traited ranger for e.g.) and attack at max range. Have the rest of the party pick on the spiders that spawn and defend the ranged classes.
and you think this isnt control.. after posting this i see i’ve made a mistake posting here, i’m out
You can control the supply all you want but it’s pointless.
Let’s imagine this person XYZ bought up all the Dusks and then re-listed it at 1000g. That’s a lot of gold!
I would then take that opportunity to start forging greatswords to take advantage of said price. But then the seller would be forced to keep buying those dusks to maintain his pricepoint! Sure. All the power to him. That only gives more money to the buyer to make more and gamble more.
And how about those individuals who will sell directly to the buyer? XYZ won’t be able to interfere in that.
And the XYZ has no control on the buyer’s price. Sure he may be able to sway the buyer to pay more, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
no vol, ppl will buy them because there is almost no other chance to get one – not because the prices were “undervalued” (wtf)
if you guys think this is ok, fine – i don’t
and no, i am not jealous
Well then that’s the price they are willing to pay for it! Doesn’t matter the reason behind it, whether it be a ‘reasonable’ price or they are desperate. If someone buys it, that’s the equilibrium.
I know you probably want to buy precursors for 10 silver each but when there are thousands of players willing to pay more than you, there is absolutely zero reason why a seller should pick you. They will pick the highest bid.
And by the way..even if he successfully raised the price because he bought up all the supply – he’s doing the work of the economy.
If people are buying his expensive precursors then the prices before were undervalued. His prices are the new equilibrium.
It takes two to tango. There is limited space in gaming shops and there would have to be sufficient demand in Australia to justify stocking cards.
Are you just jealous that they have more gold than you or ??
Because 500 vegetables can group together and farm embers. 500 vegetables probably need at least one person with a brain to do all the temples.
They’d be doing all the Dungeons instead if they were actually as clever and rational as they claim they are here… Maybe it’s a Fluke, but the Coffers I get from Dungeons actually seem to have better drop rates and less “garbage” in them… (and the Champs sometimes die faster just b/c there isn’t 50 staff guardians Scaling their HP up to Lyssa levels)
My favorite one though is “Orr was totally empty before we got there! No one did gates!” … I can’t think of a more obvious “well we’ve been in COF the last few months but we’re pretty sure this is how it probably was on the surface while we were gone”. It perfectly fits the stereotype of greedy people who assume nothing worthwhile ever happens when they’re not there… (meanwhile they’re also missing out on even bigger long term wealth opportunities)
Who is the real selfish one here? The guy who attempts to complete one of the 5000 events in game but also griefs several dozen players, just to make a point against those ‘nasty, dirty farmers’? Or is it the zerg that wishes to make gold in order to encourage transactions in this economy?
Of course not. They wouldn’t stand a chance in this economy.
I wouldn’t say movespeed is a selfish stat. It would basically be a defensive/utility stat. 50% movespeed bonus would basically negate cripple. It would also help in position yourself out of AOEs better. It would also increase damage for Thieves who rely on attacking from the back or the side. It has a lot of combat potential. Then there’s the sPVP and WvW applications that aren’t so selfish.
Not to mention it suits the Explorer and Traveler prefixes really well.
Except that speed as a defensive ability is rarely used in game. There is very little to no kiting in this game. And even if there were, the current 25% does it’s job.
Tagging is based on total DPS.
Let’s say the champ has 100k HP. There is a threshold you have to reach. Let’s say it’s 10K
Here are some scenarios:
-all 5 players in party tag the mob for 9k before it dies. You will not get loot
-4 players in party tag mob for 11k. You get in one tag for 400 dmg. You will get loot.
-4 players in party tag mob for 50k. You don’t even get a single hit. You will not get loot (but the other players do)
-all 5 players tag a mob for 11k in the first 5 seconds, then go to another champ to kill. The first mob dies a minute later. You will get loot.
-You are not in a party but there is a zerg with you. You do 10k dmg. You will get loot.

you PEOPLE ALL FORGET THAT EVENTS IN GW2 RELEASES ALL TAKE PLACE AFTER PERSONAL STORY SO EVEN IF THEY KILL QUEEN SHE STILL EXISTS FOR NEW CHARACTERS
^^
This. I contend that by creating this “living world” and shaping it through the “living story”, ANET has deliberately broken away from the traditional method of telling stories through expansions/etc. The new method they are pioneering with GW2 not only allows for the sort of things we are discussing, but also requires it in many ways. Im not saying that i definitely think the queen is going to die, im just saying that i feel like that sort of thing is a real possibility in the living world model.

Ecto price increased directly due to gold inflation from farming events.
Ecto price increased due to massive speculation that tomorrow’s patch is a big one, and would include lvl 500 crafting.
Vicious Fang price on the other hand I would bet is largely as a result of inflation.
Hey guys did you hear? Toymaker Tixx is coming to town to celebrate Wintersday!
Well you’re just a victim of supply/demand then!
I think it’s pretty obvious now that you don’t deserve a fractal backpiece.
With Ascended weapons, armour on the way and crafting being raised to 500, perhaps some market speculators are buying up crafting materials?
Don’t know for sure but just a thought?
There has been speculation for that well before the champ patch. I think it’s largely inflation.
Though to be fair, I did buy a bunch of Crystal Lodestones for the inevitable new legendaries.
What’s interesting is if these large zergs did the entire 2 hour run, they’d be swimming in champ chests. The temples reset every 2 hours, it takes slightly longer to complete them all, which basically means you could do all the temples, all day long, completing each event and getting an extreme amount of loot. Why that’s not happening, i can only attribute to people not knowing or simply being lazy.
What? You honestly think you can get more loot completing the chain?
Have you even tried anchorage farm?
kitten, the pre-event escort to anchorage farm gives more chests than a fully scaled Melandru chain.
Yes, I’ve done both. The temple zerg last night yielded me about 47 chests plus the main large event chests. For that same 2.5 hours doing the chain, I got about 26, although in fairness, we failed the 1st part of the event before getting to the embers more often than not. Going all through the event yields around 12-13 each run. Not counting the 3 or 4 champs we did in between the cycle.
The temple crew before avoided the champs/events since there was no reason to do them, now they do every one they pass by, including 2 up-scaled events that spawned 4-5 champs each. The temple crew on NSP at reset every night has a pretty darn good run now and it’s at least not milking the same fail state event over and over.
That’s your problem, you’re not running with a huge enough zerg. The top 5 servers zerg anchorage and get it to scale enough that 3 champs pop up on each cauldron, not to mention the 2 risen waves from the east and north, as well as the 2 champion wizards in the back. With a large enough zerg and a guardian party, you get +85% of the champ drops and they melt quickly. With a good group you get 20-30 boxes every 10m successful meddler runs.
(edited by Vol.5241)
Clovers are fine. 600 gold for a precursor is not.
There are cheaper precursors out there. Some under 100g.
As someone with 231 clovers in inventory (enough for 3 legendaries), I feel bad. Would be nice to be able to sell them for those who are unlucky (at a massive profit, of course)
Yes they increased the server cap in the past week. Last there were four full servers. Now it’s very high.
Or you can farm anchorage point before it gets nerfed tomorrow and get about 60 skillpoints a day.
I’ve got over 400 in the past week. Sitting at 800 skillpoints.
Orichalcum ingots have gone up also. It’s the highest it’s ever been. At the time of this writing it’s over 9 silver per ingot.
What’s funny is that at one point there was a 40c spread between 2x ori ore and 1 ingot.
But I was too lazy to profit off of it.
So are people actually buying up quartz to use it or is the increase in price as a result of inflation + other speculators?
Jennah will not die as reasoned above.
What can happen is she gets kidnapped, and/or one of the disposable living story characters (Kiel, Rox, Braham) get killed off.
They’re not going to tell us specifically when stuff comes out.
Why purchase the bloodstone anyway? Leave that for last.
