There’s nothing wrong with these changes, it’s good.
How about runes/sigils? Can those be changed to other stats?
SAB is not an integral part of the GW2 universe and I think Anet wants to limit people’s exposure to it so that player attention does not divert from the world to SAB. Furthermore, it limits expectations that Anet diverts significant resources to update SAB frequently. Temporary content also prevents content from becoming too boring.
I think the colors may be related to lighting + time of day
I’m not sure if arbitrage is the right term. Arbitrage involves the same asset being traded across two markets and the transaction takes place simultaneously/instantaneously to reduce risk.
What’s happening here is speculation.
I’m not in game but it’s clear precursors are being speculated on
T6 mats, cores, lodestone and such may also be speculated on, as well as t6 gathering materials.
It’s a good thing I stocked up yesterday, though I was going to do more buys today ;|
Hmmm I just finished to change all my old MF stuff (armor/weapon) into a celestial one and I’m on the way to buy Ascended gear with laurels (I already got the amulet with the mgical infusion and one ring) for my main char.
Off course I got Pirate and traveler superior rune on armors and Superior sigil of luck and Crest of the traveler on weapons.
I also have another char that got a full MF armor. All those things has cost me a lot of time and a lot of laurels.
Now you say no more MF stuff????Hmmm ok, What people who spend time to get those old stuff will get in exchange?
They said MF gear was going away a few months back…yet you still went ahead and spent all that?
You know what’s even rare than precursors and BL keys?
Giant Eyes as a drop. I’ve got 1 in +2600 hours.

World 1 was a ton of content. I expect World 2 to be the same.
So the kit just got even more convenient.
Let’s just hope the Essence of Luck acquisition does not depend on what type of kit you use.
I think my main concern with this right now is that “legendaries” were supposed to always be a fancy skin that had the same power of the current top tier weapon. Not stronger or weaker, but equal to the top tier.
Now it seems they are going back on that philosophy.
Either “legendaries” are going to be weaker or they are going to be stronger. Look at it this way. If they remove the sigil slot and replace it with an infusion slot, they are going to be weaker. But if they keep the sigil slot and add an infusion slot, they become stronger than the current top tier. Meaning they are going against their whole cosmetic philosophy on what “legendaries” are supposed to be either way.
And then there is this whole “other functions and stuff”. What other functions? Is it something that will give an advantage power wise? Give you a buff or a fancy debuff to your target? Or is it just some flashy special effect? Again, one goes against the whole cosmetic thing while the other is for it. But to call an effect a function is wrong. So what could this function be, that won’t give someone an advantage over anyone else?
I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me, but Anet seems to be going backwards on a lot of their philosophies about this game. This whole “legendary” deal is just one of them.
You are correct, they were always supposed to be the same power as the best tiered weapon.
That’s why they are being matched with ascended weapons, something we have known since November.
And Anet has said all along that they intended ascended to be the top tier but they just couldn’t get it out in time.
If they came out a year from now and introduced a new tier, then sure, I’ll get on the boat with you. But as it is right now Anet is sticking to their word and I don’t see much of a problem with it.
No one in their right mind would pay +1000g for Dusk.
+1000g for new legendary precursors? You bet.
I think you are underestimating the mindless zerg farmers who made 1000+g from the gauntlet and other farms.
I’m afraid this will probably be the new price point due to the massive gold inflation we have seen this past month. Due to the low volume and high demand for precursors they will inevitably be hit hardest by the inflation.
If that were the case the precursors would have risen immediately or shortly after the gauntlet got nerfed.
The only reason why we are seeing these huge prices is because of speculators. Why do you think they all rose overnight?
Because of the legendary skin rechanges.
Though I doubt Bifrost and Sunrise get changed.
IMO a perfectly reasonable macro would be to have a key that casts a skill, as well as a message in party chat that says said skill is being casted
e.g.
I may use guardian staff 4 and in party chat
“Casting Empowered Might”It might sound reasonable, but you are doing multiple actions with one stroke, so against ToS..
Yes, I’m aware of that, but I would wager there are ‘reasonable’ grounds that would permit such a macro. For one, it doesn’t provide a technical advantage. Chat is purely communicative.
There is a difference between a macro that uses 2 key strokes (or 2 skills) for 1 key, versus a dozen key strokes (11 of them from typing).
That being said, it does strike me as interesting and I would probably ask CS if they wouldn’t mind that.
If you don’t want to pay up for a precursor then you don’t deserve it.
You may want to buy it for a 10 silver but when someone else out there is willing to pay thousands more than you, then why should I sell it to you?
What an odd topic. Started off with a rant on min/max trait lines (wat) and ended with a rant on concurrent players (wat)
They are incredibly rare. I have got more precursor drops than BL key drops, which is quite absurd considering that if Anet wanted the BL keys to be a rarely acquired, they would have nerfed the lvl 10 story by now.
Before blaming farmers perhaps you should look at the server you are playing at. More than likely it is a low population server.

“Casting Empowered Might”
Im curious about the AR. Will 2handed weapons have 2 infusion slots, or will you be able to get more AR using 1handed weapons? o.o They never solved this problem for sigils, and I really hope this won’t be the case for AR
I think it’ll work the same way with sigils.
Several months back a dev did talk about the sigil situation between two handers and one handers and I think it all boiled down to technical hurdles.
Why are people making up stuff and saying the infusions would replace sigils? Are you just stirring up kitten and trying to find reasons to hate this patch?
How come everytime i see your name you are hating on the OP?… Im just saying that other ascended items dont have normal upgrades so i am asking if thats the case here.. im not trying to hate the patch…?
I pick on people that deserve to be picked on.
It’s common sense why they would not do this. There are sigils out there that cost a ton of gold. Why would Anet want to shaft these players? And even if they did, don’t you think they would compensate them? Nearly all the legendary player base would be affected.
They are doing the exact same thing with MF gear. They are overhauling it but they also understand that there are people out there who invested in them. So they are going to be offering compensation.
Also
It doesn’t matter if the previous ascended items did not have sigils/runes. Those are accessories and there was never any conversion for those to begin with. Yes, we had the Triforge Amulet which had a upgrade slot that would have been overwritten. But the number of people who had the amulet were far and few due to the obscene cost, and the upgrade slot has very limited value. So compensation was out of the question here.

“The Guild Wars 2 Gaming Keyboard features … raised macro keys”
It has been stated here many times that using macros is against the TOS.
Stop making stuff up. Saying macros is against the TOS is a huge blanket statement and akin to saying “Talking to other players will get you banned”
Why are people making up stuff and saying the infusions would replace sigils? Are you just stirring up kitten and trying to find reasons to hate this patch?
I don’t think Anet would consider this cheating. Chat itself doesn’t provide any technical benefits and it’s merely a communcation thing.
It’s less about the imagine itself but the name of the screenshot.
Expect a PSA in the next week on how they are going to exchange our MF.
As someone who has been hoarding 2 Storms for 6 months now awaiting for the new legendary rework…
I regret not buying more Storms.
Supply for Storm is almost bought out now… XD
It’ll be really interesting to see what effect a precursor scavenger hunt may have on precursors IF it were released.
Or even precursor crafting!
Vol, haven’t you noticed that on the TP, the watchwork sprocket is often displayed with the icon of a fused greatsword?
:)
Oh i know, rest assured I did not buy the wrong item ;D
No one in their right mind would pay +1000g for Dusk.
+1000g for new legendary precursors? You bet.
So OP how can you differentiate between ‘trolling’ afkers and legit afkers?
You want Anet to ban those who merely AFK? Imagine the kittenstorm on this forum?
“Anet you are punishing me for not playing the game and forcing me to always do things when I’m online”
Better sell now while the economy is still inflated and we don’t have new legendaries yet.
Funny how I didn’t follow my own advice and ended up hoarding a Fused GS and Longbow.
The supply is so small right now that I just had to.
Though this will be a long-term investment.
As someone who has been hoarding 2 Storms for 6 months now awaiting for the new legendary rework…

I agree with OP, it’s not exactly efficient I would think.
You get more champs farming aetherblades and probably more champs doing orr/fgs runs per hour.
If this were the case, how come the current LS doesn’t cater to anyone in the newbie zones?
Exactly.
They don’t say outright whether a program is permissible or not. They simply don’t have the capability to look at the workings of the program and see if it’s fair.
Considering it can be used to an advantage in one aspect of the game, I can most certainly say that it should not be allowed.
It doesn’t matter if it’s only in WvW and won’t matter in PvE. Fact is, it’s operating in the GW2 game
I deleted mine. You can still go in.
Uh I don’t think farmers exactly want the event to fail. There really is no difference between failing and completing the event.
As a hardcore farmer, all I want to do is focus on aetherblades/molten when they pop up. That doesn’t mean I want to fail it.
If the casuals/completionists want to focus on minions then by all means I’ll do my part and kill the groups I want to.
HOWEVER, I do see that the exchange rate gold/gems went relatively high, which is not good for GEM STORE shoppers, so far. The 10 days sales and older skins re-introduced may help re-balance this, though.
Well the gem store is catered towards people who purchase with real $, not converting. Converting is merely an option/alternative.
I don’t think it’s against GW2 policy, the guild I’m in AFAIK has been doing this for some time.
The closest thing I could see happening is a guy getting mailed the winnings and getting inadvertently banned by the autobanner.
SAB skins are a lost cause. I invested about 300g several months back but quickly sold it at a loss of +150g now.
If I held on to it I would have lost a ton more.
There are simply too many appealing skins in this game to entice buyers to go pursue these old skins.
The entitlement for this game is ridiculous. You get a bunch of free stuff on your birthday and you complain?
I farm champs, and I get on average 30-40 bags per event. And I consider myself pretty good at tagging.
I can tell the following things from this line.
1) You are not a guardian
2) You are not in a group
3) You are not as good at tagging as you think you areYou should be getting around 10g an event, if you aren’t then you need to reconsider the following things.
1) Are you the right profession, with the right spec
2) Is your group made of the right professions, are they using the proper weapons, are they geared correctly, and are they using the right cons?I have to say I broke the 10g per event yesterday. Group of guardians, the area was sparkfly fen, super easy champion farming. It was partially luck as some of the spawns were just perfect. Group was staff/gs guard, hammer/staff guard, sword/fc staff guard (me) etc.. you get the point I’m sure.
Sell greens+blue to merch, salvage whites/rares, sell exotics, save any mats you don’t have a 250 stack of sell the rest. Undercut if possible while still getting a good profit. Drives the price down for when you want to buy stuff.
That’s only half the equation. You also have to be lucky and coordinate with enough zergs to scale the aetherblade events high enough that at least 1 champ spawns per wave.
I find it that completers just like to complete an event “just because” They’re no different than the people who ‘griefed’ Lyssa or Anchorage farm. They think they are doing the right thing in completing an event and being rewarded with a few silver from completion.
As for farmers, we really dont’ care about completing an event. We just want to be efficient with our time and find the best way to get gold/hour.
I assure you that if there was a way for us to make a lot more gold completing an event than failing it, we would do it.
It just stands right now that you get an absurd amount of gold farming aetherblades/molten than minions.
And the rewards between failing a 3rd wave and completing Scarlet are neglible. What is it, <5 boxes? That’s what you would get farming a fully scaled aetherblade farm.
It’s normal. The prices are just correcting towards equilibrium
If someone wants to pay more than you buy a silver, then that is how much they value that item at that time.
OP
You need to understand what inflation is and what causes it before throwing around these terms.
More loot drops in game doesn’t cause inflation. More gold (or in this case, silver/copper) causes inflation.
Where did you get that 40g? Did you get it from selling all your materials? Then that doesn’t cause inflation.
You know what causes massive inflation? Gauntlet farm. But that was nerfed so it’s not an issue.
I highly doubt this event will cause inflation. In fact I think we are currently operating with disinflation ( a decline in the inflation rate towards pre- Queen’s Jubilee patch levels)
Last night I ended up farming 2 events (only because most people seemed to be doing that so I was stuck doing it as well to get anywhere)
Both farmed events yielded me less bags, loot, and gold overall. I get more doing the actual event itself. Farming, I think got me an average of 2-3 gold while completing the actual event usually nets me 5-6 gold.
Why exactly are people farming anyway? From what I see, it seems to be 50% less effective than doing the event itself..
You are probably not tagging enough champs.
Right now the reward difference between failing 3rd phase and winning is far less than farming one entire scaled Aetherblade event.
Perhaps, but farming yielded I believe somewhere around 40-50 bags. The event itself I usually get closer to 60 and walk away with more gold. Not sure how I can tag more champs outside being able to freely throughout waypoints while in combat or having them uncontested.
I can assure you that you make more money from champion boxes, not loot bags, considering that loot bags are tied with map lvl.
Champion boxes give at least 6s per box in pure currency. I get at least 30 per hour. That’s 1.8 G.
And then you can throw in all your blue/greens/mats/bags
5 tickets is a lot, but that’s good. It still keeps the skin’s rarity intact while providing those who really want it a chance to get it.
→ The area you were in was at a certain level, which gives you a set amount of HP
→ The area you resurrected in is at a lower level, which gives you a lower set of HP to account for scaling
Spring 2014 Elder Scrolls Online, Wildstar and likely Everquest Next will roll out.
Around that time you’ll have your expansion because the servers population is gonna drop. Hard.
Yeah I’m sure Elder Scrolls is gonna be quite successful with their subscription + microtransaction model.
It’s obvious they’re going to try to milk as much money as they can before they go to F2P.

A lot of people on the forums equate farmers with hackers, gold buyers, botters and exploiters. Pretty much the bottom feeders of MMO social classes who should be banned.
Which is funny because all farmers do is:
-play a lot
-find the most rewarding thing in game and do it repeatedly
I don’t know at what point they decided to give us a bad rep, but farming in MMO is just as predictable as bots, RPers and bugs.
And you can also make the argument that it is good for the economy. Farming materials, for example, can keep prices low for everyone and make it easily accessible and cheap. Material farmers also keep the velocity of transactions high, and they do a huge part in acting as supporters of gold sinks.
And while farming gold can keep prices high for everyone, it also allows casual players to get loot and sell them at a high.
I just suspect that the same people who paint farmers as baddies are the same people who in real life complain about rich people and how X profession is making X dollars in salary. It pretty much amounts to jealousy that the farmers are rich and they are not.
Similarly in real life, no one seems to appreciate CEOs or bankers, or sports players who make millions, as if they should either be paid similarly to lower-rung employees, or those lower-rung employees deserve to be paid thousands/millions as well.
In no part of my post did I whine at all. I made a valid argument and supported it.
If someone supports your product ahead of time with a preorder, they get rewarded (see ‘preorder bonus’s’). Therefore, if someone supports your product for an EXTENDED period of time, they ALSO should be rewarded. Why should a brand new player who has done absolutely nothing but open up their wallet pay the exact same price as what the digital collectors paid at launch and get all the same stuff PLUS MORE? And for people like me, who bought the ultimate edition, why should we receive LESS than a new player, even though we’ve supported the game longer? If someone buys it now, they get everything I have plus some, for the same price I paid a year ago. Explain how that’s fair to me.
You received less than the new player? You mean the year’s worth of content and enjoyment this game brought you? You think a skin set and 10 boosters is more valuable than that?
The only way this game is ‘complex’ is if you came here from something like WoW and expected it to BE WoW. Otherwise, the game is pretty watered down.
The game is complex because of the uniqueness of the classes.
That’s why we have hints for each class
Guardian – virtues
Warrior – Adrenaline
Engineer – Kits
Ele – Attunements
Ranger – Pets
Mesmer – clones
Necro – Shroud
Thief – I don’t know what it’s called but you know..
Why are you entitled for this?
An analogy I used minutes ago..
You sign up for a gym membership and get perks ABC. Then 6 months later you find out they are now offering perks DEF to members and you want them to? They’re not for you. They’re for luring in new customers.
And yes, I will make the argument that Anet would be losing money. They would be losing future revenue that you may have otherwise spent if you didn’t get those rewards.
You and others may have spent, in the future, gems on boosters and on the Legacy Armors. That’s lost potential revenue if they were to otherwise give them to you for free.
