Ascended trinkets are already easy to get through many ways in the game. They wont ever be able to be crafted^^. Do speculators even got a brain?
We already know legendary trinkets are coming out this year with visual graphics.
So yes, I do have a brain. Do you have eyes/ears?
And then the rest of the playerbase will continue to complain that effort =/= reward.
all because casual players don’t like how other players play.
Someone bought around 400 of these but I can’t think for the life of me why. Cheaper crit damage? Everything I seen on zerk vs assassin points to it being still a slight advantage to zerker for most of the optimal dps dungeon builds. I suppose if you really want the cheaper crit damage it is a good choice I guess.
BTW I don’t think this is because of people speculating on ascended armor or legendary trinkets.
It’s because opals right now are bugged and they are going to be fixed. Right now there are two stats but I think it will be fixed to show assassin.
The rise in opal is somewhat related to the decline in ruby. Zerk vs Assasin.
orbs other than ruby are very cheap….. if anyone were smart enough, they would hoard those orbs rather than the exquisite jewels…..
Way ahead of ya
I highly doubt it. It’s managed by a different company, let alone the economic disadvantage you’d have for new Chinese players entering a well-developed one in NA/EU.
Why do I get the feeling that casual players hate it when other people make more gold than them? Is that why you want this nerfed? You hate it when people have more time than you?
If you want to make a legendary, you have choices. You can use RNG or you can get it guaranteed.
I don’t understand why people complain about legendary RNG when you have an alternate way of getting it guaranteed.
Did you expect to get all ascended weapons in a week or what?
You’d have a point if the purpose of refining materials is to put them in the bank.
But that’s not the purpose.
The purpose of refining materials is to make the proper components to craft.
I’m sorry but if you have that much AP, you are not going to quit from dailies. There is something more behind the scenes that would cause them to quit.
The number of people who would want this type of feature does not warrant the costs and time to develop such a system.
I have never heard of someone who wants a complete account reset so that they would have all items, gold and achievement points reset.
Just buy another copy of the game..
Wait, so I can reformat my SSD and it won’t explode?
I agree – the first time I ran w2 the first thing I realized was the lack of baubles.
For an elementalist, I would say it is not worth it. I just banked mine after they killed the MF on it.
Yes because the only reason you ran Celestial was for the MF.
Thick leather, elder wood and mithril are used in the creation of T7 mats, eventually ascended armor will be introduced and silk will be needed. It looks like someone is speculating that the scraps they buy at min price today will be worth something tomorrow.
^ this
I’ve been hoarding gossamer scraps. Got about 300g worth. Hoping it’ll rise to +7-10s
Did you guys expect Ascended to come off quickly and cheaply? There is a reason why it’s the tier between exotic/legendary.
Furthermore, the price spike is a large result of increased demand. Demand increased for wood so much that people are willing to pay 10s more than pre-patch.
If you are not willing to match other people’s prices, then there is no seller out there that will sell to you.
A tier which doesn’t need to exist as it literally serves no purpose other than to give people busy work. Anet focused their efforts in the wrong direction with ascended and the the two week living story. Instead of actually delivering compelling content and horizontal progression we get bi-weekly to do lists and ascended. So now you have people who are slowly waking up to this and they are upset about it, and they should be as it is not the game that was advertised. Anet has thrown their hat in the ring with trying to be popular versus trying to be different and as such with them pandering to the masses, the people who bought this game on the premise that it is different are being left behind.
They already said the purpose of ascended was to bridge the wide gap.
This game was advertised with living story. If you bought this game thinking it would be something different than that is your fault. People like to complain about living story IMO because they dont like change. They are so used to the subscription/expansion model that they don’t want to risk on anything else.
If you don’t like it then by all means you don’t like it. But Anet’s metrics show that this past year has been very successful. Player activity in the summer (when 2-week releases started) has gone up when it traditionally goes down (that’s Colin’s words). That tells me that this Living Story is working and GW2 is working.
Anet:
Fun impacts loot collection.
The rarest items in the game are not more powerful than other items, so you don’t need them to be the best. The rarest items have unique looks to help your character feel that sense of accomplishment, but it’s not required to play the game. We don’t need to make mandatory gear treadmills, we make all of it optional, so those who find it fun to chase this prestigious gear can do so, but those who don’t are just as powerful and get to have fun too.Again, ascended gear was supposed to be here at release. Anet has said that they do not plan on adding anymore loot tiers to the game. Ascended is the final (and was supposed to be at release).
Furthermore, it’s not required to play the game. You survived the game for a year without ascended. Now that we have it, do you expect to fail dungeon runs and raids?
No it wasnt.
Well, you are at least right about no purpose whatsoever though.
It was rushed, poorly thought out, poorly implemented no purpose addition to the game.
I was pretty certain this was the case so I looked it up. Lo and behold I was wrong! For that I apologize

That being said, I still do believe that ascended gear is the right thing to do. It’s meant to bridge the gap between
Ascended armor is coming before the end of the year AFAIK.
And the difference between exotics/ascended is not important in WvW. Player/Group skill is more important.

I’m confused… how is a “luck” booster in any way different than MF?
Apologies, thinking of it my post/title could have been clearer.
When salvaging items, you now get a chance for a “luck essence” to drop. This adds a fixed amount of “luck”.
When you get enough luck, you gain +1% MF.
So my point was, how long until there’s an item available for sale that increases this fixed amount of luck by 50% (or whatever amount).
There’s nothing wrong with that. Especially when you consider that any booster that increases the fixed amount of luck you get will never bring as much of an advantage as the current MF booster.
I guess Anet really shouldn’t have changed any legendary skins with all this complaining.
If you crafted it, you were obviously satisfied with it’s current status.
I share your frustration concerning ascended materials, but as I have said elsewhere, it is because I come at it from the other end. I enjoy crafting and want to make the ascended items, particularly if they were tradeable as well. However I don’t enjoy farming champions or dungeons. I’ll do the odd one if I come across a champion battle in my travels, but I prefer wandering the world and enjoying the scenery. I gather every node I come across, and kill standard and veteran mobs, but I don’t go out of my way to find the champions or take part in the big events. This means that I am unlikely to get enough ascended mats to craft anything.
If you end up farming champs/dungeons then that’s your own choice.
If you want to get lvl 500 ascended in a few days then absolutely you will have to farm. If you want to take your time, you don’t have to.
Ascended crafting isn’t meant to be done in a few days.

nothing? i guess they don’t want to say for sure huh?
Or they expect their player base to have some common sense……….
I have enough common sense to think that Anet could cash grab this and release an Infinite coin that only works in World 3
There has been zero confirmation that this coin will continue to work…why do you think that is?
World 1 and World 2 used Continue Coins as lives. Why in the world would they change that for World 3/4?
Hopefully the answer is “never”, but well…you know how it goes.
Any chance of a confirmation that this will never exist please?
Why ‘never’?
Are you insinuating that it’s P2W?
1% really isn’t going to make a difference, and for a monthly reward, it is pretty lacklustre. I wouldn’t mind 5%, though.
Frostgorge farm chain is still pretty good.
And it seems the majority of the playerbase is now doing metaevents, especially the temples.
why the hell didnt they just let us choose both the weapon and the stats !
Because that’s a feature unique to legendaries
Not really. Legendary weapons let you swap stats on the fly. Allowing someone to select the weapon and the stat once when they manage to get that super rare drop isent asking to much as any crafter could do the exact same when they make it.
Ahh then I agree. I took it as if they wanted to choose whenever and as many times as they want.
We already know this mechanism is possible (we did it for rare items) but I’m sure there would be some other fixes they would have to do behind the scenes.
Did SoR tank yesterday because of IRON leaving? At least that’s what I heard.
why the hell didnt they just let us choose both the weapon and the stats !

It’s already been confirmed a bug. They are aware and working on a fix for it. Do not make any purchases until it’s fixed.
You don’t need the infinite coin. One bauble bubble is 5 continues with each giving you 5 lives. That’s basically 25 lives per bauble bubble. Doing one run through world 1 on normal will give you a ton of lives.
Actually it’s even better – 5 lives per coin!
You don’t discover it, you refine it. It’s already there
About 2 months ago that_shaman on reddit datamined a note that there would be a gem store item that would increase the stack to 500. I doubt that would help much at all ;|
You know what’s really brilliant though?
Introducing a gold sink in disguise by encouraging people to use or TP blues/greens rather than vendor them.
Way more brilliant than the dust/ecto salvage fix.
in the long run it will even out once people get more magic find
I very much doubt that. There will always be demand for blue/greens and as such it’ll be better to sell on TP than vendor.
..and of course all types climbed fast in price. This makes me wonder…Do you think some people know about these changes before they got implemented?
Or changes just get discovered extremely fast and the market evolves accordingly ?
May be tin paper hat issue..but God, people get exploits, opportunities and certain profitable changes and makes you wonder….
Is that the first thing that pops into your mind?
It’s true, there are people that know changes before hand. MMO review/blog sites, devs, and even Dulfy know beforehand certain changes. They may take advantage of them. They may indirectly. It’s frowned upon to do this ‘insider trading’ but there is not much you can do about it.
That being said, I highly doubt this was the cause here. All it takes is 1 or 2 people to quickly take advantage of backpiece prices. Yellow backpieces are not in huge supply, so it would probably take a few hundred buy orders to reach the appropriate price of +30s. There’s nothing fishing going on here.
1st – Why Queensdale ?
2nd – Won’t it be better(cheaper) if I just sell the rares / masterworks and buy the cheapest fine items for salvaging ?
FGS farm is superior to Queensdale. You can find a zerg train in SoR of at least 20 people doing champs.
It’s better than Queensdale because the loot you boxes you get are always exotic (unlike Queensdale where you get everything from white to exotic) and the materials are at the least T5 quality)
The only drawback is that you need to be fast and can’t have a slow computer. You need to load waypoints quickly since the champs can die in under 5 seconds.
What a waste of 600 gems ;/
A clarification on Pennry’s post, Artificers will find them in the refinements section (towards the bottom of the refinements list). Again it’s all about convenience, if you have a stack of blue essence you can craft it into green, which can be crafted to yellow and then orange.
Oh my god. If I had known this…I wouldn’t have had to click on 5 stacks of 10 luck essences…
True. Demand is high. I am saving hard because I want at least just one legendary. Wow some people have 3 and 4…how do they do that? It is so hard to earn gold
For the longest time gold acquisition was at a good rate. Then they started with the Orr nerfs and it was very, very hard to earn gold outside of COF for a few months.
Then came the QJ updates with gauntlet, pavillion and champ farming. Now gold acquisition is better than ever. Not to mention the prices of T6 mats have gone up, making it a great source of coin for sellers.
You need to look at the best places to make gold. Right now, champ boxes are still good, but gathering is profitable too.
I really don’t notice any difference in Bifrost.
That being said, I was content with the skin.
I just wish the aura would be there more often. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or what.
When i mean “harder content” i dont mean adding more health to a boss (Im looking at you high level fractals). I mean something that takes an actual coordinated group effort with people rolling specific classes to work in unison and when you fail it is a complete wipe (ie, uw, fow from gw1).
Think of all the depth that would be added. Classes would work in synergy on a level never seen before in an mmo. It would be art
Edit: This would be instanced content.
If you need specific classes, I assure you there will be a concerted effort to find the most efficient way to complete it. Some classes (like engi) will feel left out.
Increased MF will not help with precursor drops.
Trust me, with a very high MF before the patch, exotics and rares were not raining from the sky. Just an increase in blue/greens and higher level crafting materials (T5 instead of T4 for example).
Besides, most of the player base whined about MF and about how useless it was. That is why they removed it in the first place. Not sure how rewarding them with an extra free 20% MF made sense, but who really cares.
Don’t over estimate the value of MF.
MF will not help with precursor drops, yes, but MF absolutely did work in the long-run and with a large enouh sample size.
Check sig for proof.
Also, MF alone doesn’t help you get exotics. High MF + lots of mobs and tagging does in the long run.
So in other words, a slot machine with a prettier interface? Still sad to me that so many people are content with this kind of game design in mmorpgs.
I’m content cause I see the big picture. You are so heavily focused on “RNG is bad” that you don’t even realize that RNG is an alternative for those that want it.
Want that exotic? Go buy it on the TP. That’s a guaranteed way to get it.
There are also exotics that can be acquired for a guaranteed amount of karma, gold, badges and dungeon tokens.
Although, yes, ideally it would be nice if every skin in the game can be acquired through different means.
Nobody wants RNG
I don’t mind RNG. At least it’s an alternative available.
RNG is for those who are willing to gamble that they will have to spend less than the guaranteed amount.
There is a reason why gambling is a billion dollar industry.
RNG for cheap dyes nty…
Would you rather have nothing to show for failure, or at least have something given to you for failure?
The market is satured. People don’t view these as desirable skins and for most players they will only have 1 skin per weapon type.
I myself would love to complete Tribulation mode and have a super rare greatsword skin…but I already have Eternity and I won’t replace it.
There are similar players out there who may not have a legendary but may have invested a lot of gold in themed skins or any other expensive one.
So here you have
-lots of limited supply (slowly being drained)
-stagnant demand
-an ever increasing supply of skin alternatives which will never end and further saturate the skin market
All the above factors result in the little price movement.
Increased MF will not help with precursor drops.

Why play a game if everything is handed to you the moment you install the game and log-in? You want a legendary in your mail?
First of all, there’s more than the binary state between “handed immediately” and “requiring 100 years to get”.
Second, we weren’t talking about time to get reward but how this game mirrors the (incredibly lousy IMO) real life situation of people having more money being able to get more stuff.
Besides that… in my specific case, yeah, I’d actually love an MMO which instantly gives me completely maxxed out characters with the click of a button (sorta like what happens in PvP here). My enjoyment of the game mostly stems from checking out how the various combinations of race/class/build/gear work at max level both against the mobs and against other players. This implies that to me any time spent reaching that point is wasted time.
I hoped GW2 could be this kind of game (the manifesto and all that) but it clearly changed the design fundamentals along the way. What annoys me the most is that this just makes it like the other 63248032800592843 grind-based MMOs out there, while I can’t for the life of me find ONE MMO designed the way I’d like it. And if you just look at the amount of complaints about grinds, I’m pretty sure there IS a market out there for players like me…
You are playing an MMO genre. What that genre has almost always includes the following:
-gear
-skills
-levels/exp
-a progression system
So let’s talk about progression.
You have gear on one side of the spectrum ( basic) for players who don’t want to pay kitten. That kind of gear is very easy to acquire.
Then you have gear on the opposite side of the spectrum (ascended/legendary) for players who want to pay up. That gear is hard to acquire and is only reserved for a small % of players. It’s gear meant for players who are willing and dedicated enough to spend the gold and time to acquire it.
So you won’t have sympathy from me when you want to pursue the highest tier of gear but don’t want to pay for it. in time and/or gold. You just don’t deserve it.
You don’t want to pay 1000G for a precursor? Fine. But you have a great alternative in stats in terms of ascended mats. Right now it’ll cost you about 400G (at inflated prices). Seems reasonable, yes?
And let’s talk about your comment about “grind”. You know why you have yet to find an MMO designed the way you like it? Because your expectations for an MMO are unreasonably absurd and ridiculous.
The concept of a “grindless” MMO, I presume, is an MMO where you can do one activity and never have to do it again. Have you taken a step back and realized how absurd that is? MMO’s cost money and development costs time. There will never be an MMO where grinding is NOT an option. You WILL have to do things several times over and over because that’s the realistic nature of games.
OP
Who made you decide what stays or goes in the game?
Why should your viewpoints hold more value than mine or anyone elses?
Just stand nearby the pond. Fish will go towards you.
Are you talking about Superior Sigil of Luck?
Wasn’t that under 1 gold? More like 30s? Not the 10G you mentioned?
