Lol @ PVP is the focus of the game. It may be ANET’s focus, but certainly not the player base. It’s funny, a very vocal minority cries and cries and anet responds while fully ignoring 80-90% of the playerbase. It’s like they don’t even understand the game they created. Or maybe more correctly, they sold one game, but are now trying to make another.
If you want to look at a game where PVP is really the focus, look at the battlefield series.
sPvP was never the focus for Anet.
PvE is always the biggest focus for the game. That’s how they marketed it as. And that’s where the majority of the player base is.
“seeing PvP people being able to enjoy their pastime without having to trudge through the leveling quagmire is disheartening”
Oh god, shame on those nasty sPvP’ers for enjoying a gamemode they like!
just wanted to say that it’s a good thing that a world boss is difficult, but the risk – reward ratio isn’t good enough. It’s good that Anet is working on new rewards.
What I don’t like: MOAR rare loot. This won’t bring players to those difficult events. I would suggest a progression on each of those bosses where you can work on either
- specific precursors
- specific skins only available if the boss was killed + I would add achievements for those bosses which are a requirement to be able to get those skins.
there has to be a specific reward so that you want to do this specific boss. If not, people just go to the easiest of the bosses and farm those, equivalent to dungeons: CoF1.
Yes, let’s reward lots of precursors and flood Lion’s Arch with legendary weapons.
They need to nerf the difficulty of the mobs in Southsun. I understand that they wanted to create ‘challenging’ mobs but if they don’t make any changes to the rewards then naturally people will go for the easiest, most rewarding route.
Of course though, if Anet really wanted people to play in certain zones, they would just allow farming, but we all know that won’t happen…
So I tried the dungeon yesterday. The first boss with the lasers is exactly how I like my dungeons. Not necessarily all DPS/tanking but strategy, moving and quick thinking/reactions.
I found it too easy, would have been nice to have a 3rd set of lasers that go the opposite direction.
The 2nd boss was interesting too but the mortar part really needs to be shortened. It’s way too long.
Because I sure do. I don’t know about you guys but this game has turned into CoF Wars 2 and it is boring the kitten out of me. There are no other viable options that come even remotely close to Cof.
I miss it tremendously because it’s the most relaxing farm. You’d farm for 5-10 minutes straight and then have 10-15 minutes of break where you could collect or talk to other people waiting.
It’s also the only place where you get to play the game and get to know your server well. In WvW everyone is serious so there is no time to meet people and Lion’s Arch is full of AFK’s or people just idling by to wait for something.
people will always goes for the most cost effective route.
CoF farming is NOT the fastest way to get gold. I’m sorry. Explore the game a bit more and find little farm spots here and there and there are definitly better ones.
Yeaaaah sure. Have you even done Cof1?
Or…wait a few hours?
Anytime a class gets any other nerf, of course they’re going to complain about it.
Nerf warriors and guardians and you’d get the same thing.
’dragon’s revelry starcake’, wt is this? new uber food only available through rng (not on tp at present)?
Read the patch notes dude, it explains itself. It’s loot from the Rich Dragon Coffer which because of a bug did not drop. It will be retroactively rewarded to those people who bought coffers previously from the patch.
People who open rich coffers from now on can get that food.
Perhaps its a visual bug.
How about testing this guys.
If you know that you listed, say, 100 powerful venom sac on the TP, and it’s missing (and they didn’t sell)
Go try and sell more sac and see if the TP gives you an option to match your previous listing.
If it’s still there, it’s probably a visual bug.
If not, then you and everyone else in this game will be in trouble.
I’d figure Anet would avoid this issue entirely and just introduce +X infusions, i.e. a +15 infusion for amulet.
Is it weird that my first strong reaction to the notes was “YES! THEY BUFFED MISTFIRE WOLF!!”?
No – I’m more excited about the buff to Orb of Wrath.
Finally ranged guardians are viable ;D

I hope they are going to take PvE down soon until the patch is released. I don’t like this bullkitten – can’t play WvW and all the PvE players still can turn off their brains and farm their dungeons repeatedly… but then again… they might get kicked out of the dungeon when 5 minutes earlier they announce the patches. There might be a few that did not see the warning a few hours ealier and I’m sure they are not going to send another 1-2 hours warning cause they already did this. Next warning will be max 5 minutes(I think usually it’s only 1-2 minuets.
lol why you hate pve players so much? Did they steal your supply or repair a wall while it was being trebbed?
I predict the notes will be posted in 6 minutes!
Every minute past that point I will find a bunny and slaughter it.
Careful – the last time I said I went out slaughtering cats (for my ambient daily), I got suspended!
I don’t think there are any killable cats in the world are there? bunnies, owls, fox, armadillos, rats, and fish are the ones I see the most
There are cats near houses – the village around Caudecus Manor for e.g.

It’s a good move but I’m sure someone will find a way to complain about it ;/
Hope the leaked patchnotes where wrong.
Dulfy posted an early preview of balance changes. Not all of the leaked patch notes made it to release.
Exclusivity is good. No need to have people running around with Charrbacks
Aren’t the skins supposed to be on TP now? I don’t see any of the stuff from https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/stylish-new-items-available-in-the-gem-store/ there.
No. They were supposed to come out on the 2nd part of the Aetherblade chapter
Every patch day we have this type of thread ;/
Patience people..
I thought they were a dungeon armor set?
It’s a temporary dungeon. Don’t consider it on par with the current story-3path dungeons in game.
And you can buy it with in-game gold by converting it to gems
There is no issue here
Once again, you cannot vendor Legendaries.
What could have happened was you salvaged it. It’s pretty easy to salvage a legendary and you get no other notification than what you’d get salvaging a green/rare/exotic.
Of course, if you did that, then it’s your fault and Arenanet cannot help you for player mistakes.
You’re poor so I really don’t recommend gambling. If you lose lots of your gold it can get pretty depressing. Your chances of striking it rich are very, very low. I’ve personally thrown away +700g since release on the forge and I haven’t got any precursors. In fact, I’ve got more precursors (3) from open world than the forge!
But if you want to gamble it all, you need to look at the value of those exotics. Some exotics are worth a lot more than others. Go to the outpost and sort lvl 80 exotics by lowest price. The lowest price will show the cheapest exotics that you can gamble with.
Dragon Wing cover is NOT a good item to speculate in
1.) Item has considerable supply
2.) Demand for such an item is low (especially considering the shatter wings are aesthetically superior and easy to acquire)
3.) Any sort of profit made on speculating will take several months to a year – at which point you need to keep in mind opportunity costs
Almost every action in-game you are paid one way or another, just killing mobs and selling the dragon chests can net you at least 1 gold a day (providing you can play a few hours), if you need more run the meta events and sell or salvage the rares, ectos are selling well on the TP.
You can make 1G in 30 mins running cof!
You can’t make any money in this game unless you farm Cof1, flip on the TP or sell gems.
Not really gonna play seriously until they fix that.
hours played doesn’t mean much.
What means a lot more is what you did for those 3000 hours.
3000 hours farming shelt/pen? Yeah you’re unlucky
3000 hours playing wvw? You aren’t gonna get a precursor that way
3000 hours playing dungeons? Same as above.Do you realize how much loot you get in wvw or … ? I have done my fair share of cursed shore farming, its better, but its braindead boring. Seems like you are really underestimating wvw for loot. The amount of times I empty my 140 slot inventory during one raid night is quite sick tbh, and obviously I dont run MF…
I really think more casual players, who log in like 1 or 2 times a week have some sort of hidden MF boost lol -.-
Guy in my guild logged in after a while and never even knew what dragonbash was, 1st dragon coffer he opened he got a jade ticket. While there are people in my guild with 4-5k coffers opened and 0 tickets. I have noticed the same with precursors :p the most casual players get a dusk from 1 ooze kill or drop 3 rare warhorns and a spear in MF and get a Dawn. Coincidence I know, but still annoying.
Oh yes I know how much loot drops in WvW. And it’s nothing compared to traditional farming (or was).
How often do you encounter large zergs and steamroll them to collect loot? how often do you encounter large zergs on the map? Especially when you’re on a lower-pop server, you’re going to have a hard time finding players and having a respectable drop/kill rate per hour.
Not to mention, the loot table for WvW is not limited to your lvl range.
Hi, I was just wondering if there are any other alternatives to making efficient gold other than CoF, please don’t give me the whole ‘just play the game you’ll get gold’ thing because we all know that isn’t very true when compared to the amount you make from farming CoF.
I am a bit sick of farming CoF
There is nothing else in game that comes close to CoF in efficiency.
There are no events in game to farm, either. Every single farm spot I looked for after they nerfed union farming was nerfed.
-new players
-new alts
-people want to lvl up through crafting
I think you are completely overblowing the number of people who attempt to corner a market.
2000g is not enough to corner a market, unless you’re talking about those cheap items worth a few copper each.
And even those rich people are not dumb enough to invest in such a thing.
Before you start worrying about new legendary weapons
-they need to roll out the scavenger hunt
-they need to upgrade existing legendary skins
Over the weekend on Lion’s Arch there were a bunch of people kittening about how those wings are pointless since everyone has them.
“Why reward something that is so common”
I pointed out that funny enough, that is something that RNG can solve. RNG = not everyone will get the item and you maintain exclusivity.
Of course, people continued to kitten
So what’s the alternative here?
Don’t make changes to classes after release?
Keep having certain classes/skills/builds OP while others collect dust forever and ever?
This item is better than anything we got so far.
I’d prefer it over some random kitten drawing from a little child that you eat for karma.
Level of measurements are assigned by humans to help in the real world. We decide how long a CM is, or how long a kilometer is, or a feet, for example.
In the game world you will have to assign your own measurement system. How long is a foot going to be in this game? Is it going to be as wide as a dolyak’s hind leg? How about as wide as a Norn’s?
Once you figure out a system of measurement, then you will be able to find distance travelled per second, and using that, you could be able to find the distance between point A and B. From there, you could even figure out the distance between any point on a map without having to run it.
I bought a name change contract last week for 800 gems and this week it’s on sale.
is there such a thing as [redeeming] like what various out-of-game stores like Best Buy, Target, Toys R Us, etc for their customers when a situation like this happens?
is it possible i can receive 160 gems back for such a short-notice sale?
looks forward to good answer!
thanks-Graphik
Last time I recall, Gaille said you can try if were a day early.
Personally though, when you are a week early, tough luck.
If they had a strict policy of “refunds permissible for purchases x days before a sale”, then how about x+1, x+2 and so on?
People would keep trying to stretch the policy.

Please, whenever posting stick to what it says, as in this case, remember that it is not allowed to post trying to grab the attention of the Devs, Anet or any of its employees – as in, adding names or Anet to the thread title. That rule makes no sense whatsoever these forums are here to also suggest changes in the game so what if the company which is why we play this is mentioned when a suggestion is made. What are you afraid of? How can putting the company name or the Devs not individual names cause any problems. People want you to see these so you take them seriously. Fine you do not want The company name in your forum which in my opinion is very weak minded. You should be honored that someone uses your name in these forums. That is one rule that should change to not using employees names only. Devs is not a name it is a bunch of people that take suggestions on new ideas from the players.
“Also, please remember not to question the actions of the community team. If you think the actions taken by any mod were not right, please feel free to write to forums@arena.net and explain what happened, but never post about it or discuss about it, because it will most likely derail and turn the thread unusable.”
Listen to the man’s advice
Order of Whispers HQ (instance), which is in Bloodtide Coast.
Alright look, I am just want to say that this has been an issue that I absolutely had from day one. I am just now talking about it because I knew deep down that Anet would see the issue and take care of it. Since they seem to think its ok I want to call bullkitten.
There is absolutely no reason to take a 5% listing fee AND a 10% sales tax from the seller. The only reason you have for this is to bleed money out of the economy to force people to continue farming/buying gems to convert to gold. If you absolutely must continue with this make the fees 5% and 5% and have the buyer shoulder some of the burden.
It seems illogical to me that the SELLER should have to pay a 10% sales tax!!!! How does that make sense? If I am doing the favor of creating the supply why am I being penalized so heavily?
Oh and one more thing fix the “projected profit” to include both fees. At least then the box won’t be lying about how much you will profit.
In the perfect world you would charge a 5% listing fee and have that be the end of it. There is no need for a sales tax at all.
It’s easy enough for the average player in this game to acquire enough items to sell on the TP, more so than a buyer having a need for a certain item. So I believe the seller should definitely assume most (if not all) of the burden.
Furthermore, a high fee for the seller will discourage players to overprice their goods and will help achieve lower prices for the buyer. Lower prices will help players of all levels and hours of gameplay achieve their content goals.
When it comes to games, I think lower prices for buyers (and less wealth for sellers) is much healthier for the game.
Wings, 100,000 of an item needed, now Sky Pirate Dungeon. Welcome to Aion.
I feel sorry for the dude who decides to purchase 100,000 zhaitify when he could just suck it up and buy the wings for <15g on the TP.
It’s technically against the rules, but no one really cares. You only really get punished for using macros when you’re caught botting with them, or using them in rated matches (like real tournaments).
Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
- This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
- For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.
That’s funny cause Aion (published by NCSoft) had a neat little tool in-game for making macros that could utilize up to 5 skills (if I recall). You could even give each macro a little icon!
I don’t think people get what Living Story is supposed to be.
Living Story has temporary content because Anet wanted to make GW2 like a living , breathing world. How can they do that if say the molten alliance stayed in the shiverpeaks and west ascalon? Having temporary content gives the option for developers to overlap or use zones more than once.
So what if new players won’t be able to experience Molten Alliance? As long as they play they will be getting new living stories.
Missing out on skins?? No bid deal IMO since living story provides players with new skins every content release every month or so.
Content does not equal vertical progression. Lets get that straight. Content is lore and exploration and new shinies.
If the player does not care about the lore or roleplaying then why even bother with Living story? There are definitely players out there that know better and don’t even touch living story because they don’t care about lore.
As long as Anet keeps pumping out living story content on a monthly basis no one should be complaining about temporary content.
Just playing devil’s advocate here (I don’t care on either side)
Everyone here appreciates new content, but doesn’t it make sense that if you have new content, it should be here to stay? Otherwise it would be considered “New Content but for a Limited Time Only!”
I bet it’s technically against the TOS.
But I don’t see how they will be able to track such a thing, assuming that the software is calculating through your mouse and not on the computer.
The new torment condition gives an unfair advantage to ranged classes. They should have just kept the way things are right now and stick with buffing confusion instead, since confusion is non-discriminatory among classes and melee/ranged
It will work both ways. A ranged class will take damage trying to kite you, just like you’d take damage trying to catch a kiter. I think we’ll have to see how it plays out.
The disappointing part of Torment is that it’ll be limited to thieves, mesmers, and necros. Two of those classes didn’t really need a buff by getting Torment. I think there were better choices including warrior.
A ranged class has the option of just standing still.
A melee class simply doesn’t (especially against any competent ranged class)

No JP is hard.
Except Griffonhook
Gives me nightmares to this day.
You want a custom-made model of your characters?
That’s going to be pretty hard and expensive to design.
