I’m just writing this to express my frustration and disappointment concerning ANet’s consumer service.

Three days ago I paid 1800 gems to transfer server from Dragonbrand to Northern Shiverpeaks to be on the same server as the rest of my guild (so the influence I accumulate isn’t wasted). Yesterday (2 days after I paid to transfer) I saw that transfer to medium population servers (including Northern Shiverpeaks) is free for a limited time. I asked for a gem refund as I find it frustrating to have paid 1800 gems for something that became free 2 days later. Anet’s response: “we understand your frustration but will not issue a refund”. I find this answer really disappointing and a lack of consideration for their customers.

So I do the only thing I can do about it, complain in the forum and never buy gems again.

Why should they refund you?

If they set a policy of “We’ll refund anyone within 2 days of a sale”..

then you’ll have the 3 day people whining.

And if they increase the policy again..

you’ll have the 4 day people whining…and on and on until you have the month people whining.

Better for them to put their foot down and set NO refunds.

Myself, I spent the gold I had saved and bought a few gems to try and ended up after 97 chests with no ticket.
Nobody put a gun to my head and made me spend what I did, but I will say that after that many boxes opened, I feel slightly jipped only having 4 hair style kits and a few boosts to show for the number of boxes I opened. But lesson learned, I won’t ever participate in an RNG fiasco like this.

This is exactly the reason why this business model will fail in the long term. I have seen businesses come and go through out my time. The ones that disappeared were the ones that unintentionally chased away their own customers.

That would make sense if Arenanet’s only product were skins in BL chests…

PRX decided to go to a 1st place server and then apparently quit because they don’t like zergs. Would have been a good time to come back.

It’s supposed to look like a refugee camp. Bad stuff is happening across the map and you expect LA to be all grandiose? It’s part of the story.

I’d prefer it if they were account bound but I don’t really care. If you think I bought my legendaries for $, then I’m not gonna bother wasting my time defending myself and trying to convince you otherwise. I know I got it fair and I think that’s all that matters.

From my brief testing:
-DR hits after a certain # of kills of a mob type (i.e. risen, inquest, bandit), has nothing to do with ‘event completion’
-DR becomes very noticeable when you do not pick up any greens,or if you are in cursed shore, moldy bags (moldy bags used to not be included in DR but they are now)
-DR cannot be rid of by logging out and not playing for hours or by switching maps
-DR can be reset by killing other mob types. Doing the dailies that say “Kill 0/40 in x zone” are enough to reset DR.

As it should be. Why should you have the same achievement points as the guy who has played longer (and probably more dedicated) than you?

Agent of entropy was just silly. if it wasn’t capped then achievement points would be meaningless. With 50g you could get 10000k achievement points if you didn’t break your fingers from clicking. It doesn’t cost anything to salvage items if you do it correctly.

9 times out of 10 I make a small profit from salvaging groups of 500 items. It is not a meaningful profit, I wouldn’t do it as a money making method, but it means that money is not a limiting factor, just how fast you can click.

Personally I don’t think “clicked my mouse 10000k times” is worth any compensation.

BTW, the rotbeard chest rewards are pretty much the same as all the other meta event/dragon rewards.

So if you don’t have the time to wait out on bosses, go farm that chest.

I know one guy who has 10 alts and he farms it like mad.

Has anyone gone for this chest after the patch? I went there just now and I can’t see the loot chest where it used to be. Maybe they changed it so the chest only spawns if you spawn Rotbeard and kill him?

You are correct. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I heard that it will only spawn when you kill Rotbeard. And even if you kill him, the chest rewards have been nerfed.

Who said they would be increasing the timer?

They have been a problem since the February patch. Their AOE hits extremely hard and makes it nearly impossible to do events like Balthazar and Arah.

Either tone their damage down or remove the ‘morale’ events and replace them with timers.

Unlike hobby/entropy, it’s not unlimited. It comes at a fixed rate.

I do believe that the precursors are being managed by a few individuals. I’ve bought dawn not too long ago and what strikes me as funny is.

the selling price was 530 and the pre orders are from the range of 410 to 490. I played around with the pre order, entering in 430. then my offer got outbid by just 1 copper. Obviously I’ll go and beat it by another copper or at times 1 silver. This went on for quite sometime and the impression i had is, somebody, most likely the owner(s) of these precursors are pushing the pre order to get close or to match the selling price.

after 2 weeks of this dance i decided to just put in 430 and let it sit for 2 weeks. Everytime i login i noticed that my pre order sits somewhere in between cause the lowest is 400 and the highest is 490. One day, I see dawn on my purchased screen, I checked what is the current pre order, and the highest is still 490.

Sooo, this is odd i thought, the guy that sold it to me didn’t sell it to the highest bidder. Interesting.

or maybe someone else like you wanted to buy it? I would enter bidding wars just upcutting by 1c because I wanted to be the first guy who gets that buy order fulfilled.

I don’t think this will boost t8 servers up any bit. They’re waaaaay behind in accumulative points.

Kaineng was able to pull off 200+ points a week sometimes. It would not take long for one of those servers to move along if they completely dominated in the same way.

The difference this time around is that there are no free transfers with no limit.

Once it hits high pop then I reckon it will shut down. Back when Kaineng was dominating people just hopped on the train.

That is correct. So right now it’s recording but we won’t be able to see the rankings.

I think a lot of people will be disappointed by the changes to quickness.

I was online when that happened. Managed to sell some dust at around 50s/ea. before some idiot(s) started listing at 28s. I mean, come on, there’s undercutting and there’s just stupidity. I think whoever it was actually ended up undercutting the buy orders, if that’s even possible.

I’m just glad I was only selling small amounts, I expected undercutting but nothing that bad. Unfortunately, no one after that bothered to look at the listing history and have just kept matching lowest seller since. If they had, the price would probably still be in the 40s range at least.

It’s stupid that people expect to sell crystalline at 50s for an extended period of time. Why would I waste my listing fee for such an unsustainable price?

How the hell do people have two legendaries, let alone almost 4? Do you play the game 24/7? I’m trying to get Predator, but the precursor alone is 600g, onyx lodestones for 100 of them will be almost 200 gold, 100 gold for icy runestones, and the stacks of gold needed for 250 of tier 6 crafting items. That’s over 1,000 gold of items. How in the hell do you farm that much that often?

Well I got 1600 hours in game, I consider that hardcore. But I don’t do dungeon farm like other people (I’ve only done one Cof run since no ones wants to carry a guardian)

Lack of desirable gold sinks, the notion that the nerf on meta-boss rewards will decrease supply, and pure human speculation of the market.

1-We NEED some really creative gold sinks: region specific armor/weapons, boss/NPC specific armor/weapons, region specific town clothing, weapon dyes/stains, mini-pets, pets, etc. Give the players what they have been practically begging for, something to spend all that gold on that will take it out of circulation and keep prices down.
I may be gold poor but there are plenty that are not and really want/need something to spend it on. TP keeps gold in circulation, keeps prices stable or rising. While gold sinks take gold out and stabilizes or drops prices. Taxes suck the gold out of everyone, good gold sinks give the wealthy something to spend it on.
2- Less loot after the patch will create a rise in prices
3- Can’t control speculators that drive market prices. Any hint on supply going up or down will cause market manipulation.
EDIT: to add in more ideas for gold sinks – more=better.

I think a lot of people would desire something like more cultural armor skins. That could be a HUGE gold sink.

They can even add more dungeon armors that can be bought with both badges and gold in the cost.

I.e. the highest tier of new Cof Armor would cost 150 badgets and 10g.

Precursors rise with each patch. People speculate changes to effects. Go look at Storm. After the February patch the price dropped as people sold their inventory after no changes were made.

After I got my Bifrost, I did the most logical thing.

I made more legendaries.

Now up to three, could get a fourth by the end of the month but I’m holding out and saving for new legendaries.

Gotta be careful when buying stacks on the outpost. That stack of 250 could all be priced at 30s or it could also be priced at

10 at 30
90 at35
100 at 40
50 between 40-70

-Back at a few months in release, lots and lots of t6 mats. Made a killing
-Wall of the Mists (back then it had a bugged recipe which would either give you wall of the mists, or Lidless eye
-Piles of Putrid Essence (bought over 40g and sold it a few months later at break even)
-Armored Scales. Made a good 100% profit but it was not worth it. I think I waited close to 2-3 months for it to go up. Wasted opportunity cost.
-Ancient Bones. Sold it as a paltry 20% profit. It’s still a good speculation option. Players may still be burning through inventory supply.
-Storm. Has went up over 100g in the past few days. Could go even higher, maybe 300% if they make a change in today’s patch.

In the future, I’m going to be speculate Crystal Lodestones. They are massively underpriced, but I think a lodestone supply buff is due in the near future.
Crystal Lodestones are a long-term speculation, perhaps 6 months. So if you are going to invest in it, invest in A LOT. Someone I know has over 1000.

Some of the cheaper t6 options, like Totem (that used to be as expensive as bloods) and sacs are good for short-term (3 month) speculation.

If you want a cheap precursor go get Venom. Otherwise don’t complain about demand/supply forces.

Well why the heck did you buy two gifts? Just to save space?

It’s comparable to people who use up their mats to make a combine for their legendary.

What if you get another precursor and change your mind? Now you can’t unforge that item and you’re stuck.

Same with the badges…don’t use them until you’re absolutely ready to make the legendary.

Well it’s ridiculously easy to make 10g so you actually lost a lot of opportunity by making a bad investment.

For power traders, yeah, buy low and sell high (mind the 15% fee)

It’s an economy problem. Those mats drop too frequently and the demand is insufficient.

i have no idea why, elaborate totems, scales and most of the other t6 mats stabilized around 15s, not quite sure why dust suddenly became so expensive. Its not like there is any less supply or higher demand by such a large margin compared to the other t6 mats.

The only thing i can imagine is that pile of dust is required in turning cores to lodestones and in most of the popular legendary weapon gifts. Yet this should only result in marginal inflation due to the few active legendary farmers around. <5% of playerbase something?

Gasoline, i don’t think t5-t6 upgrades is actually cost worthy until t6 dust reaches 5s or so.

I’m thinking a lot of people are making their triforge? I believe Triforge requires 750 total crystalline dust.
