Most common I bet is the Ranger.
Followed by the Necro, as two Necros in a party is just as bad as having 1 bearbow Ranger.
GW2 was never designed to be disabled-friendly from the start.
Heck, jumping puzzles alone are discriminatory against the likes of Quaggans.
It’s a lot easier to make gold now than ever. One of the biggest reasons why I came back.
Can confirm, everyone on yaks and sor at the least having massive lag.
So just cause I want to smash you face with my greatsword means I lack civility? Geez, I wonder if you consider wrestlers, boxers or even football players as people who lack civility. All because they like to compete against others for fun in a ‘violent’ setting.
Who is the one who lacks civility here? The person who finds joy in playing a gamemode the way it is intended, or the person who assumes that certain individuals are the way they are based on the entertainment they partake?
It’s not a hard thing to realize from an unbiased perspective.
A lot longer considering you get hit with DR doing champ trains in Queensdale.
You guys know you can convert bloodstone dust to gold right? There are recipes that use it. Go look it up on the wiki.
Unfortunately you will need to buy the recipe first for 25G but overtime you make enough of a profit.
Heh … then you have the opposite problem. At current prices you’ll need around 50,000 Piles of Bloodstone Dust to break even. I guess that wouldn’t be a problem for champ farmers. The other thing is that consumables seems to move slowly.
You are forgetting that each combine gives out 5 stones, not 1.
One Toxic Sharpening Stone = sells for 25S, cost to make 1 sharpening stone is 15S. Appx 9S profit after taxes. Each combine gives you 5 stones, so on average you get 45 silver in profit for each combine.
Recipe is 20-37g, I will use 37G to be conservative. That amounts to 82 combines, or 8200 dust – no where close to 50,000.
It does have an ‘aura’. It shines and it reflects on the ground, especially in bright areas.
Thank God for this. There is no question that WvW should not be required for a legendary and kitten all you kittens that say otherwise.
Gonna enjoy snagging my gift of battle without having to consort with you PvP mongrels.
Looks like someone has had their share of being a PvP ‘griefing’ victim
Never once PVP’d in this game. I have class.
Says the person who compares PvP/WvWers to ‘mongrels’
We’re not all that bad

“and further evaluate what those requirements will be”
I only hope that you do not lessen it further. 30 ranks is nothing when you consider the time investment it takes to get the other components in the legendary.
Heck, it should cost even more. 50 ranks and 1000-1500 badges (considering you get so many free ones in achievement boxes)
You guys know you can convert bloodstone dust to gold right? There are recipes that use it. Go look it up on the wiki.

Then either two of these things will happen, or both:
-Even more people will go to the Queensdale champ train, considering they will get both champ boxes and DE boxes
-There will be more DE trains created, such as the currently feasiable Harathi chain. DE chains would be no different than champ trains.
Please make it rank 50.
I’m for increasing it. 30 ranks is chump change.
If people want a legendary, they should master all aspects of the game.
edit: If there is going to be a compromise for PvE players, then how about a compromise for WvW players?
How about reducing karma requirements or dungeon tokens?
MF is working as expected. MF has nothing to do with your probability of getting a Precursor. All MF does is give you a chance of getting a rare where you would have instead gotten a fine or masterwork.
At around 170% (70% base + 100% from the birthday gift buff) I started noticing a significant increase in rare drops from chests, if not standard drops. When I do the Ulgoth chain in HH I almost always get a rare from the chest in addition to the one for the event.
And that is it. That is all MF is good for, getting the occasional Rare where you otherwise would not. It may also increase your chances of exotics and precursors, but not by a high enough margin for it to be relevant, no matter how much farming you do.
Magic find has no effect on what you receive from chests. It only influences the loot you get from mobs directly.
I started when I reached 200%.
At lvl 228 you start needing 30,000 luck per 1%.
That’s 150 exotic luck essences, which based on the research on the wiki, 288 ectos or over 80G per 1% (you can make back 60g by selling dusts)
I really don’t recommend going for max luck unless you have the financial capability of doing so. It can be incredibly risky and expensive, especially if you list stacks of dust and the prices start to move down.
I hate crafting. Will there ever be other ways(non-rng) to obtain ascended gear?
What exactly is a non-RNG way of obtaining ascended gear? Guaranteed drop rates upon killing Teq/Wurm? Ascended gear from completing dungeons?
The only thing I can think of is buying through the TP, which so far is not possible and unlikely to happen.
I do not recommend going to BG. Despite being impossible now since it’s status is ‘full’ 24/7, it is extremely hard to do metaevents since BG consistently overflows. Not to mention people always guest there, so it’s population problems will continue to persist.
I do not know anything about JQ
I’m from SoR, and for the most part it’s a good PvE server. There are a few good guilds there, and EG is one of the bigger PvE guilds. WvW wise, it’s dying, and probably is more appropriate for T2.
TC is a good server with a good population. If you are into RP’er or do not mind RP’ers, it’s a server that you would enjoy.
TC is also a good server with a pretty good community.
I don’t like either of them since they are too ‘themed’, but if the shield didn’t have a big heart I would say it’s the best designed one.
It’s one time use. But you can re-use it with a transmutation stone.
Are we going to have a thread for the 3rd kill?
I prefer to set my buy order at a point where I know I can make a profit and where I know it will (eventually) be sold to me.
Then, I don’t worry about them. If I wanted to baby sit my buy orders, I’d stand around Lion’s Arch shouting “WTB”.
Yeah, that is a good point actually. Maybe I would be better off to set a bunch of buy orders and just forget about them instead of babysitting. Does it work out well for you?
Just remember that if an item is underpriced and far from equilibrium you can still get overbid.
I had a buy order for this item that I was going to use for luck. It had a sell price of 2.50s but a buy order of 1.40s. Over the course of 2 weeks I was competing against someone else and we kept overbidding each other by 1c. Eventually I overcut him by 50c…but he still kept up at it! I gave up when the price was the same as the sell order.
I think that’s what TP traders largely do. They need to keep an eye on all their prices. There may also be 3rd party apps that can track the prices of items and notify you if you are overbid. It can be extremely boring and is not something that is fun for everyone.
No, they’re not. 15 char
Ive been a fan of the guild wars series since beta for GW1. And with all of the recent changes i must say gw1 still stands out to be far better. The PvP system alone was worlds better, and yes a split pvp and pve system is best since theyre not the same thing nor require the same style of mechanics… That should be pretty obvious. and now theyre going to be reworking armors, runes, and sigils. This is something that shouldve happened before launch. Not after you have an account full of toons. I have 8 lvl 80s and theyll all need reworked after this. They dont have a gear progression in game per say, but they keep changing and tweaking things to accommodate. And they have yet to do anything for the real players of the game. Not the casuals, or the ones who just log on and get their ap. This is a casual game. Nothing more. if you expect challenge then look else where, they expect people who legitimately (min maxers) to be on the same skill level as someone who plays once every 2 weeks. We need harder dungeons (fractals is a joke) etc. Actually high end pve content. Not saying DoA, UW, and FoW were high end but that is a start.
1 – You are suggesting an MMO should never have balance updates and fixes? You will never find an online game that does not balance things after launch. The idea that everything should be held down permanently before release is not a well-thought one.
2.) GW2 is not a casual game. It’s a game for all types. There is content for hardcore players and there is content for casual players.
It’s a dungeon, so it belongs in that subforum. Don’t see why it should have a separate one.
MF works, read my sig
-hardcore farmer with +300 MF
Oh my god vol how….
The fastest way to 300 MF is to salvage ectos. It is, however, the most expensive, as the loss you get from salvaging a stack of ectos then selling the dust costs you 10-20G.
You can if you wish, buy lvl 20-50 green items through buy orders, but that is extremely time consuming and will give you carpal tunnel.
Overall I think maxing magic find costs you at least 2kg, up to 3kg. Is it worth it for the average GW2 player? Absolutely not. But as a hardcore farmer, it is absolutely worth the investment considering I can make back 2-3KG in less than 2 months. I got my luck to around 278 yesterday and I got 4 exotic drops yesterday in about 6 hours. It’s an outlier of course, but things are looking good so far.
What if they do transition from tiered server matchups to colored-match ups, they not only limit it to EotM? All borderlands, EB and EoTM would be battlegrounds for all three servers. That way not everyone is pooled into one map. Ironically, this would result in EoTM being the main map and EB/borderlands being the ‘overflows’.
If they were to do this change (say a year from now), a lot of things would have to be revamped. As previously mentioned, they would have to find a way to get all guilds on the same instance. They would also have to adjust upgrades to account for a shorter match-up.
As a hardcore farmer, here are my loot changes:
-Remove DR – Botters are still around but alone don’t make a huge effect on the economy right now. Remove DR since it punishes active players
-Turn Essence of Luck into an account bound currency that can not only be used to increase MF %, but get exchanged for special items. This not only further increases the value of loot dropped from non-80 zones, but it gives value to those who have maxed their Luck.
-Collect all unique named champs and introduce unique skins to them with a low drop rate
-Increase the quantity of drops per mob the longer a mob has not been killed.
-Have a ‘map currency’ for each map with rare and hard to obtain skins.
I highly doubt a flipper would care if an item is farmable or not. That’s more in tune with speculators such as I, but flippers care more the price spread.
I do not believe that there are many players out there who are willing to farm each and every mat component for an ascended piece or any other end-game item. The lack of numbers for these type of people are not worth the drastic implications on the economy if we were to have a game designed around them.
Not to mention, it is a poor move gameplay-wise to make all items farmable. It defeats the purpose of end-game gear if you can easily get it in a day through casual play. If all components were easy to farm for a casual player, what kind of market do you think we will end up with? You’d have linen, silk, ectos – all components in the copper range.
Lastly, I do not recall this game being advertised as a casual game. It’s a game suitable for everyone – hardcore and casual. Why do you think they designed difficult encounters like Liadri, Teq and Wurm? For casual players who refuse to retrait/reskill or learn how to dodge? No, for the hardcore players who have been largely ignored for the majority of the game.
Instead of casual players calling for everything to be handed to them, maybe they should change their expectations and not expect to get ascended gear in a day or legendary weapons in a week.
Guess we’ll finally have a valid reason for all the tags in LA!
Just make sure you don’t spam the purchase button and end up wasting actual gems.
Has anyone considered that EotM could very well be the ‘wvw’ activity we have in GW2 moving forward, rather than the tiered, 3 server match-ups we have now?
Instead of facing the same 3 servers and having one server steamroll another, they would pool all servers and organize them according to color like they do in EotM. At reset, each server will be randomly assigned a color so that every week you would have new allies.
This could solve a lot of issues in terms of coverage or unbalanced play. They could still keep the Borderland/EB maps in addition to EotM, but this time you have three separate color servers fighting one huge match-up instead of several tiers with 3 servers each.
That would defeat the purpose of said items. Those items show that you have done the required work.
Just like the Karma there should have been a warning. I’m ok with this seeing how a major change like this should have been told in advance before the Rank was involved in getting the gift. And before the commander tag went from 100 gold to 100 gold and 250 badges.
That’s a totally different situation.
It IS a problem, actually, because they CAN do this not due to “laws of economics” but because you can’t farm anything in this game realistically, so we’re forced to buy it. Jacking up the prices 10-fold is still better than trying to farm most mats.
If they jack prices up 10 fold and the market is still willing to pay for it, then that’s not a problem. They’re just helping the market for that item reach equilibrium.
It’s a problem because these are basic mats for the game, but the game becomes an economy simulator. You’re better off playing the economic game because you can’t realistically PLAY the real game to earn these things. Yes, this is a problem…
Well you are obviously playing the game wrong if you can’t make any financial progress in GW2. I’m not even a flipper and I have more than enough wealth.

There are people in this game who have and im quoting here “more gold than i can store in a single account” who on a daily basis purchase hundreds of thousands of items in order to resell them at a higher price, this creates inflation and benefits no one but the super rich, what im suggesting is a limit to the amount of items that can be purchased in a day wich will reset every 24 hours, because lets face it if this keeps going on our entire economy will collapse.
First off, inflation is a pretty broad term. You are talking about price inflation, which is a pretty benign type of inflation. It can be caused by demand, fake or real.
Monetary inflation is the one every needs to be concerned about. Flipping doesn’t cause monetary inflation. In fact, it does the opposite – it removes gold from the economy.
If we had no flippers in the economy, the number of transactions would be pretty low. Each transaction removes gold from the economy. By having flippers in the economy, transactions would be higher than normal, so more gold is removed.
Flippers aren’t bad people, nor are they greedy and nor should you care what they do.
Flippers take profits that players forgo by choosing to sell to buy orders than sell orders. It’s not their fault that other players want immediate gratification (gold).
I would be willing to pay 1200 gems for an armor set skin like the Phoenix Armor skin if it were able to be gotten multiple times. This 400 gem premium would function similarly to the increased price that came from account bound infinite mining tools.
Shoot, they should also make each armor piece separate and can charge a premium for that too.
800 gem for the complete set (6 pieces). That’s an average of 133 gems per armor piece.
Separately they can charge 200-250 gems per armor piece. Sometimes the best armor combinations are bits and pieces from different sets.
Only problem is this would hurt returning sales for Anet since some people will purchase multiple sets.
A compromise would be to have this BL Armor Merchant closed by default for all players. Anet can then add a gemstore item that will put a skin in this locker. Let’s call it “Armor Replicator” and sell it for 500 gems. It’s a one-time consumable that when applied to an armor, will remove it from your inventory and put it in your skin locker.
You have a point there. Mostly likely a feature like this will never be added since they rely heavily on Gemstore purchases.
I’m not exactly clear on your suggestion. You’re saying that each player could have a skin locker to use for transmutation?
Yes. A somewhat relatable comparison would be the current system we have for Finishers. The finisher locker is closed by default until you purchase the corresponding finisher which you can use.
An armor locker will not open by merely purchasing an armor, but by applying the gem store item to the set.

Why not both? Primordus and Mord? Two expansions
That guy on twitter that got a sneak peak from Anet said that the content would be better than an expansion.
And what’s better than an expansion? Two expansions! :P
Enough with these veiled threats of quitting. Either you quit and don’t make a drama post or you don’t.
Just be happy you get a free gift and stop turning it into a negative
Farm gold in general then buy them
Farming t6 mats directly is an incredibly inefficient use of time.
Oh and promoting T6 mats can sometimes result in an overall loss. There are spreadsheets out there that calculate promotion profit/loss.
You do realize most of the T6 materials that exist on the TP is from someone farming it. If no one farmed it and everyone bought it off the TP as you suggest there wouldn’t be a supply to buy.
Depends on what you mean by ‘farming’. Are we going to be farming for specific T6 mats? Cause that is inefficient and I doubt most of the supply in the world comes from farming specific mats.
Farming moldy bags, however, are a good supply of T6 mats on the TP.
There is a difference between the two.
Turning it into a guild mission would be impossible in terms of lore. It will more than likely be turned into a scaled-down fractal.

Maybe you joined the last created overflow since the previous 2 or 3 are full?
MF hasn’t worked correctly since the update went live for EOTM, there are people with little MF ( below 60 ) who are getting rares etc drop left right and center, and others who have over 250 who are not getting anything at all,
I was doing Melandru ( pre to temple ) and at the beacon defense stage where the mobs run at you none stop, after 6 mins I walked away with nearly nothing, WvW wasn’t much better, yet everyone on TS who had below 100 MF was getting crazy drops,
From what I was told on ts, the night the patch went live a dev was in LA and said that they where looking at MF as it was not working correctly, I wasn’t ingame so I cannot verify that, but they have no reason to lie on TS.
1.) Beacon is a popular event, it’s unlikely you did not get enough tags/ damage in
2.) You hit DRVery popular event, although this was earlier in the morning US time ( im on a NA server ) still maybe 15-20 of us there, I was getting all the XP for the kills just no loot,
If I had been down there farming all day I would say that DR yes, but it was the first time I did the event in 3 days, and I hadn’t been in WvW for a week, like I said, when I was doing events/WvW before update I was getting decent look, and my MF is just sub 300%, yet friends who did not invest into MF at all, are getting way more drops than they normally would, and they even know it.
15-20 is still a lot of people to compete against, and unless you are a guardian and in a full party, you will be fighting for scraps. And just cause you get exp doesn’t mean you will get loot – the loot threshold is much higher than the exp threshold, which is why people party up since damage is pooled.
I’ve had instances where I didn’t get any loot for 2 consecutive waves while getting a ton in the 3rd wave. At default (no DR) it seems each mob has a 30% chance at dropping loot. And within that 30% chance, you have x % at picking up certain tiers of loot, such as junk, blues/greens/yellow/rares and bags.
I’ve had enough experience farming (+3000 hours) to notice if there is a problem with MF. It’ll always boil down to RNG or DR.
