Glad you like it. As for me, not impressed.

It seems that Anet has mistaken good quality content and strong story telling with grind.

You are playing the wrong genre if you don’t like grind. Go play an RTS or FPS…

Um, no.

What I’m getting from you is that you want new content every day, every hour, every minute. You don’t want to do any sort of content anymore than once, because that constitutes grind.

I hate to break your fantasy setting, but the real world doesn’t operate like that and you will never get a game that has that type of structure.

Maybe wait a few hundred years and then you came make design your own VR game where you can do what you want to do.

Until then, suck it up or quit MMOs.

Have you checked the vendor? There are so many useful things to buy with it, including obsidian shards and level tomes.

Shards I suggest you save them, even if you do not plan on crafting the backpieces since they will never come back once the event is over.

Even though you may find the skin unappealing, you can choose your stats at a later time and even transmute over it.

I am not as far as any of those places witch means i don’t have a way point to travel to. how can i get to them… i am somewhat new to the game if you cannot tell.

Here’s a quicker way to travel.

Go to the Heart of the Mists (on the icons on the top left)

Take the LA portal (it is still active).

It will then take you to Gendarran automatically.

It’s not Evon’s fault that random citizens cower right next to a portal. Seriously, get some courage and run to the portal…

Found Heirlooms - Is there enough time?

Seriousely… if you get… well say… 35 heirlooms a day…
Which means for me, that I need at LEAST 3 hours to gather all the spots while totally ignoring events… while I still need blades… —> 2 more hours…

Equals 5 hours per day, FOR SEVEN DAYS…
Anet, could you PLEASE increase the droprate of the heirlooms in the lootbags?
This is impossible plus NO FUN AT ALL.

And I’m talking about ONE potion. I just said goodbye to the 2nd one…
Not to mention that there are people like me who are in a great disadvantige in the first place if they can’t see very well. It’s a true hell in LA for me. It feels more like dying through just to get what I want… And that… for almost all the playing time I have… yeah well… very funny..

Have you considered that vendor will be there for 2-4 weeks? Why is seven days so outrageous?

Tsk. I hate being stuck at work and not being able to take advantage of these things. gw2tp is reporting that Iron Ingots are back down to about 8 or 9 silver.

8-9s is still nuts for iron ingots, also just sold stacks of steel ingots for 15s.

I guess you live in the US, so you can take comfort in the fact that the majority of the EU player base still has to experience the patch since most of us logged off before it went live.

Promoting Bronze Ingots to Iron has always been profitable butthis night i got an average of 30g profit per skillpoint spent, which is redicilous.

Also, prices seem to be fluctuating very much around the full hour, as everybody is busy farming LA until X.45 o clock, when everybody gets kicked out until 15 min past the full hours, when everybody does their business on the tp.

From a Trader point of view , this has been the most exciting patch since Ascended Weapon and Armor came around and made my wait until the content patch in 6 weeks (with asc cooking and jeweler) more exciting.

I wish I had the patience to really pay attention to patch notes and get started on trading. I was too hyped up on the LA invasion that I ignored it.

At least I have a shiny backpiece now ;S

The kids will be saved since the law demands it. If Arenanet wants the game to maintain it’s ERSB rating, children cannot be killed. Even combat with children is a no-no. It was an issue when they introduced Taimi, but they convenient implemented the caveat that she was disabled and only could operate in a golem, which would avoid the issue alltogether.

Too bad? Someone is going to shafted in the end, whether they release on time or not.

I bet if they released on EU time, you wouldn’t care at all if NA get shafted.

Same feeling with NA and EU.

You ask for advance warning – they gave enough advance warning. Something came up and they had to make a fix.

But I assume you would rather have them release the patch and have everything screwed up the moment you log in?

Calm your pants. The usual release time (2hr ago) is not so bad for both regions. Again, in case you failed to read my post, I don’t mind that they have to delay the patch – just do expectation management well in advance (well = 1 day at worst). You might have missed that. Experience in business software development (yuck, soul draining stuff) indicates that you usually know when stuff is going south, it may very well be different in game development, but I would venture to say that a day’s worth of warning isn’t asking much. Imagine, for one second, as much transparency as “GW2_Official_Twitter_Account: Guys we might slip on this patch.” Boom! Expectations set; anyone who complains is definitely an idiot.

I am not asking for fudged patches (funny how you counter a point I made, and then counter a point I explicitly avoided, hmmm….), I am asking for transparency. Big difference. Massive. Transparency = trust. Complaints about slipped patches (where the slip was indicated before-hand) from players = idiot players.

Yes you’re asking a lot. Anet can’t turn back time and say on Monday that the patch is delayed.

The fact that Anet’s official twitter account stated that the patch was going to come in an hour, and then had to delete it shortly after shows that something bad came up.

The fact that we still had no patch 5 hours later shows that something bad & big actually came up.

So criticising Anet for not being transparent when it was impossible to be transparent is foolish. I think you are the one that needs to calm your pants because you assume Anet is perfectly capable of time travel and predicting the future.

Thus why the phrase ‘kitten happens’ exists. For instances just like this.

Vol, you seem crankier than normal of late. Everything ok?

That’s my rant style when I come across unreasonable & unrealistic people, who seem to grow larger and larger each day on these forums.

I’m all for complaining about Anet, but if you have a bad reason to do so with little ground to stand on, I’ll jump on you and call you out on it.

It’s been like that in every American based mmo.

My point exactly. Again, the sad thing is EU got them to where they are.

All over a few hours?

EU is a large region. “The afternoon” = bed time for some of us. Basically, an entire day. I don’t have a problem with an entire day – but I would like to know before-hand so as to not have expectations.

And another thing. I highly doubt EU ‘got them’ where they are today.

And even if they did, Anet expects a reasonable customer would not ragequit over delaying a patch for a few hours.

I guess you and all the EU fanboys would prefer that Anet operate on the EU clock? Go to work, at what, 2 am to 1 pm? All so they can release everything according to EU schedule, because everything in the world operates according to EU?

Yeah, I guess they should do that.

To clarify from my last post. In GW1, at 18 months, we had:

Prophecies
-they added Sorrows Furnace
-they added FoW and UW

Factions was out
- Hundred of new skills, complete new continents, two new professions

Nightfall was only 2-3 months away.
- hundreds of more skills, another whole continent, two new professions.

Compared to GW2, where after 18 months we have.

- Fractals
- two new skills
- one new dungeon path, but they removed the old one.
- nothing else that’s been permanent.

This is the complaint.

You can keep comparing these two games all you want, but one of them is an MMO and another is not. That’s a big difference in design.

That doesn’t mean they are bad people.

I strongly disagree. It’s perfectly fine to play the game the way you want to. It’s another thing altogether to be rude, callous and mean-spirited to other players if they don’t share your world view.

The word “bad” doesn’t even come close to the correct adjective to describe these folks.

If you join a party that is tailored for speed runs and you refuse to take part in that, then you deserve a kick for wasting everyone’s time and being selfish.

The groups I’ve joined don’t specify all the time, which brought me here to the forums to have a discussion. Some players would ignore set message, but I don’t like wasting peoples time.

Fair, but I think the issue would then be on the player’s personality themselves, rather than a subset group of players who like to play a game a certain way.

Looking over, if you were to actively buy/sell the account bound items, it would cost 500-600G, which wouldn’t be a good route.

But if you were to buy/sell the account bound items for 100g (especially if the seller does not value them at ‘market’ price), then it would be a wise investment, assuming trading with trusted parties.

Then you should know your market as it’s just your list of “trusted people”.

I meant the general idea of a price, not the individuals. Whether that’s 5g or 1000g, I had to gauge it.

Personally, I find it a bit insulting that somethign as minor as Scarlet can succeed in destroying Lion’s Arch when other dangers couldn’t. So I was wondering: what did you think was the most dangerous thing that ever happened to Lion’s Arch?

Personally, I think either the Mursaat or the undead. At least they felt actually dangerous without pulling unbelievable things out of thin air.

Well, technically the Mursaat did but not in an unrealistic way.

If you think Scarlet alone is the reason behind the demise of LA, then you are mistaken.
