If you are only interested in the title, you can rent mini’s from someone by having them trade you the missing pieces. You will have to give collateral, of course.
MF hasn’t worked correctly since the update went live for EOTM, there are people with little MF ( below 60 ) who are getting rares etc drop left right and center, and others who have over 250 who are not getting anything at all,
I was doing Melandru ( pre to temple ) and at the beacon defense stage where the mobs run at you none stop, after 6 mins I walked away with nearly nothing, WvW wasn’t much better, yet everyone on TS who had below 100 MF was getting crazy drops,
From what I was told on ts, the night the patch went live a dev was in LA and said that they where looking at MF as it was not working correctly, I wasn’t ingame so I cannot verify that, but they have no reason to lie on TS.
1.) Beacon is a popular event, it’s unlikely you did not get enough tags/ damage in
2.) You hit DR
MF works, read my sig
-hardcore farmer with +300 MF
Yeah I’m sure that would be easy to code..
Lions Arch has personal story quests inside it:
- The starting location (green marker)
- Some personal stories take place inside Lions Arch, they’d have to remake the personal stories.Hence Lions Arch will not be destroyed in any large scale or meaningful way.
Lion’s Arch CAN be destroyed. It will still be accessible, just with a bunch of charred buildings and fires strewn about.
The story instances can use the old assets.
Because Anet wants it to be locked in with WvW. It’s a WvW related item, just like dungeon tokens are a dungeon-related item.
It’s anet’s decision to want to include all aspects (Except spvp) in the game to make a legendary.
rofl Rox unemployed.
That’s a pretty new and unique way of putting it.
Well to be honest if you only play 30 mins a day you should be more concerned about gearing in exotics than ascended.
No, they will not come out with the old flamekissed skin.
That defeats the whole purpose of the skin revamp. People who annoyed that it used a T3 mesh and allowed other races to use a mesh that was supposed to be exclusive to one race.
Have you been ignoring all the posts and patchnotes about EOTM? It’s a lobby for people in queue. That’s it. Don’t try to turn it into something bigger than what is was intended to be.
Skillpoints are transferrable – just stock up on scrolls of knowledge
Warrior isn’t the best all around class. Guardians are. A least Guardians can make you the most gold, excel in PvE and collect loot bags in WvW.
In order to get the Gift of Battle, you need 500 Badges of Honor. And now, on top of that, you need 30 WvW Rank.
WHAT!?!?!?!?!
edit: just saw it in the patch notes… I’m out, have fun y’all but I’m out.
SURPRISE! Gotta WvW to get WvW rewards, I know.
Take care and have fun!
Charr warrior – obviously T3
TLDR: You want to purchase/do everything all at once and want it to be readily available for other alts.
That’s not going to work well with the economy. All prices in game would more than likely drop.
That would also more than likely kill the gameplay experience for the majority of users. Why continue playing when everything is handed to you? What is the point of gold in this game if everything can be bought once and then you are finished?
If only we had PK zones. I remember doing that in Rift and causing much grief ;x
If you don’t want to do what it takes to make a legendary, then you don’t deserve it. Otherwise, pay the premium or deal with it.
“You don’t deserve it”
….
“So buy it”
Yeah….. rolls eyes If you don’t ‘deserve’ it, then you shouldn’t be able to buy it either. Sort of devalues the whole ‘prestige’ idea.
Yes you can buy it but you have to pay a premium if you do not want to take the effort to do the non-tradeable portions.
There is a reason why there is so much profit in making/selling legendaries. There are people out there who are too lazy/impatient to outright make their own, so they pay a +600g premium for badges, world completion and karma.
If you don’t want to do either of those account-bound components, then be prepared to either pay 600g or deal with it.
Yeah I would love to see it and it SEEMS easy enough to implement in several ways… Probably won’t ever happen though…boggles my mind why anet would bypass all the money people are willing to spend on it though.
Propably becaue they think the projected profit wouldnt cover the expenses, even though you make an opposite claim.
I don’t think cost really factors in on this particular case, the run around they’ve given that ive seen in the past from them is generally that they don’t want to mess the personal story up for the character or there was some sort of difficulty surrounding that…. But resetting that should be easy enough…
Again, it seems easy but there is a ton of stuff in the background that you have to be aware of and making any changes could really technically screw up the game.
And as mentioned above, the costs are a big factor, which is predominately resource based. You end up reallocating designers/programmers from other more important projects towards a feature that not many people would use either way.
And then Anet would charge a huge premium for a racial kit transformation and they would be labeled as ‘greedy’. It’s a lose-lose.
That’s nothing. Back in my university days I played this game Hero Online across 4 years or so. Spent almost $10,000 on that game (it was F2P).
I enrolled in a contest that gave me the best, most valuable item in game worth $2000. I ended up getting hacked (then subsequently scammed).
Good times. All that money tho ;(
How did you manage to have, let alone spend, $10000 on a game while you were going to university? Rich family? Entrepreneur?
My university has a renowned co-op management program. I was lucky enough to have two internship at my time there that paid really well. It helped pay for both my tuition and misc. purchases.
If I hadn’t spent so much money on games I would’ve been able to pay off my tuition out of university, but I only paid it off 2 years after ;|

“Deal with it”
edit: sorry misread comment
Yes you’ll be able to make it.
Just make sure you do it on the same character (i.e. do not use sunrise on warrior and twilight on guardian)
I personally don’t like adding items that will be forever out of reach for most players.
1.5k – Boots
3k – Gloves
4.5k – Pants
6k – Shoulders
7.5k – Chest
9k – HelmIf you look here : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards you will find a lot of place to add stuff that could be retroactive to the players in chest that have no extra award tied to it such as the land marks that I posted above.
I think after 18k there should be a different set entirely being started at that point. In games I found being rewarded more frequently helps keep me going rather thinking how long it will take me to get to the next landmark. With landmarks being every 1.5k it would help keep people going imo.
There will and always should be items that the majority of the playerbase cannot get. It encourages exclusivity.
I just can’t bring myself to pay for a game after the initial purchase. never played any other MMO because of that.
I do buy kitten-tons of gems with gold, however. A month ago I bought 30,000 gems, still have 10,000 left. total, I’ve probably bought around 200,000 gems total, which would of cost me $2500.
It’s funny – I have a lot of in game gold but I just cannot bring myself to converting it to gems. It feels ‘wasteful’ for me and inefficient, and I feel compelled to just purchase with $. It also doesn’t help that when an item does go on sale, the conversion rate tends to go up and I end up wasting more gold.
If I recall Dulfy shared the same sentiments and she always buys all the latest finishers and all.
I do not understand why take an existing skin, and put another texture …
lack of inspiration? why not put a rather gw1 skin?
Designing armor is tricky. You need to account for the several possibilities that you come across – all races and sizes and the corresponding clipping issues.
By using an already-tested armor mesh, they are able to release the product quicker. All they would have to do is animate and design the ‘flame’ portions.
Vol. Respect. Not for the amount itself, but for being open about it and kickstarting this topic to a whole new level.

you are seriously underestimating just how many people use the trading post.
I would even suggest more people use the trading post than wvw.
The trading post right now works for the average GW2 player. It’s not hindering anyone or causing any rage, except for maybe the small 1% of the population that interacts with the TP for the majority of their time logged in (TP traders)
okay heres the deal, i spend 800 gems on that flamekissed armor on the tradepost for my necro sylvari. And it looked good, then i though maybe 2 Incinerator daggers would look cool on that, so i spend loads of gold on those and was pretty happy abouth that look. Then what do u people do, redo the armor look on the flamekissed set, so now it all looks crap, armor is awfull looking, my 2 Legendary daggers was a waste of time and gold. And 2 be real that aint just a few coppers. So at this point i feel like i just wasted abouth 5500 gold, well done anet i must say. So whats being done?? got a set of armor i dont like 2 Legendary daggers that i dont want eighter now!!!!!!! made em only 2 suit the old flamekissed armor….
Well that’s entirely your fault for comitting to all that knowing the armor would be reskinned.
Somewhere between $1000-$2000
I reckon improving the TP is at the bottom in terms of QOL improvement priority.
There are other OQL changes in game that affect a lot more individuals and can be game breaking (such as the WvW queue fix we had)
I would have been more concerned about the unicorns a while back …
And what is the disco-balls message, dance or die?
Wintersday – candy is bad for you?
And let us not forget Anet teaching us that torture is good (locking away the Mad King’s son in a coffin for millenia)
But nooooo! hearts!!
Your guild mates could just be bad players. Go join another guild with decent players who know what they’re doing. To call all dungeons hard is simplistic. There are easy and kittenes.
The recent patch has added Lovestruck weapon skins to the game. Each of them has a prominent heart symbol. I can understand the desire to add seasonal or holiday-themed skins to the game. However, in this case, the specific symbolism and their placement seems very awkward. The red heart is typically a symbol for love. Placing this symbol on a weapon could thus be interpreted as “I love to kill” or “I kill those I love”. Yet I doubt ANet intended to support either viewpoint.
Cupid may be depicted using a bow, and a heart symbol on his weapon may be appropriate, but his arrows aren’t lethal. Thus, unless the lovestruck weapons are similarly non-lethal, that example doesn’t really apply here.
Things like the Harpy Love effect seem more in the spirit of how the heart symbol can be used appropriately within the game. Meanwhile, there are plenty of other symbols that would seem to be better choices for weapons.
Uh.. seriously? You’re going to worry about this?
When there are numerous other things in gameto ‘worry’ about?
Why not the mass genocide of a race (Ogres), or the encouragement of animal cruelty through the ambient creature kill daily. How about the dolyak abuse by using them as transports in WvW?
But no..you had to pick this.
I’ve downed 100 times Tequatl with the old table loot (that means 4×100 bonus chest + 100x beach chest), i got absolutely nothing (one crappy exotic below 1 gold and 11 crappy Tequatl runes).
I’ve downed Tequatl tonight with the new table loot and i got … absolutely nothing (only greens).
All this RNG thing is a shame.
Yes I’m sure you would like 100% guaranteed ascended weapons.
Ah, so they may not even be in the form of weapons.
It’s all semantics.
Either:
On top of this, you’ll also see new [legendary weapons and new types of legendary gear] in 2013
or
On top of this, you’ll also see new legendary weapons and [new types of legendary gear in 2013]
….Isn’t that a reskin of Feathered armor? They replaced a reskin with another reskin? Wow, they are stubborn.
That was only a minor complaint.
The real issue from the Q.Q’ers was the fact that it reskinned T3 armor, which allowed all other races to access it.
Here is the specific blog post dated July 18
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/
“We aren’t quite ready to go into all the details here, but what I can say is you will see a specific way to build precursor items on your way to a legendary. On top of this, you’ll also see new legendary weapons and new types of legendary gear in 2013. Building your precursor will require a large amount of the new crafting material rewards listed above, 500 in crafting, and likely a combination of other items earned for completing more specific content in the game.”
Then in September during PAX (I think), Matt Visual conducted a lengthy interview with Colin on new legendaries. Colin hinted that the next batch of legendaries would be trinkets, but he emphasized backpieces.
For female humans I think the change is real nice, but yes, you can come across dye problems.
Oh well. This change was caused by the players for the players. There was bound to be disastified individuals.
Ugh that would be interesting to see looking at the same legendaries a lot is kinda tiring, but
It does shows respect either way. But I learned me looking at people with legendaries wouldn’t show their level of play most of
Them I see just die quicker than others :/the heck is that supposed to mean?
Seeing Twilight everywhere is getting rather old. Regardless, they put in the effort to make it so +1 to them. However, even terrible players have legendaries, so having one to show off is meaningless.
Hopes for a legendary that requires an ounce of skill, rather than a legendary farm.
Well that can be applied to any type of player holding any type of weapon, from blues to ascended. The inclusion of legendary in that comment doesn’t make any sense.
Anet will never directly tell you when. We know that they were planned for fall 2013 but that got pushed back. Reasonable to expect them in March.
Do you have a source for that?
I was thinking of making a couple more legendaries but may just hold out for the new ones if they are happening in March this year.
Sorry I mispoke. The actual March quote pointed out that they would be taking a break after the last release for S1, which would be March 4th. After that point, there would be a content drop, but it’s unclear if it would happen sometimes during March or even April.
As for whether or not new legendaries would come, that’s speculation on my part. But the fact that they planned to release them in Fall 2013 (based on the Fall 2013 blogpost) means they should have at least half to 3/4 of the work done by now.
The designs and outlays of all these weapons are great.
But what kills it are the hearts.
They really should haev replaced hearts with assorted gem stones.
and GG, you got my money, sold me the promise of one thing, eventually gave me something that doesnt even compare, and you are probably legally firewalled somewhere in the middle of the EULA against giving proper refunds for bait and switch schemes via the gem store.
If it was a bait-and-switch scheme, they’d had the new flamekissed ready to go when they first released all three armor sets.
And the catch to “proper refunds” is this : when you buy gems, you agree there is no refund for them (barring billing errors).
Buying the flamekissed was a separate purchase – one done not with cash but gems. And you are getting a full gem refund if you ask for it now.
Maybe, either way… no real money, account can be deleted because I can’t put faith in them anymore, gl
Alrightey, GL and HF
I’m laughing at the number of people complaining that “it’s a re-skin” or “why another re-skin, why isn’t this more creative”…. when all three Flamekissed armor sets were always a re-skin to begin with… XD
This actually looks pretty nice. I didn’t get the original one because I didn’t have a character it would work for, but if I decide to make an ele in the future, I might.
Unless all my money gets wasted on BL chests because those Lovestruck weapons are just so awesome… __
Nice job, Anet!
In the other forum someone was complaining how this new version is just a copy-paste of feathered set and that he wants a refund.
Of course, he conveniently ignores that the original flamekissed was also a copy-paste, so why did you buy it?!
Talk about hypocrisy!
If you’re going to hate on an item, at least be honest for the reason. Just don’t throw random phrases and sentences around without thinking
Green vs Red
Jungle Dragon vs Primordus
you heard it here first folks

4-5silver per piece + transmutation (360gems and have 4 spare)
or
800gems for the the flame effect <.<Is that a problem? In this game you can have the BIS weapon for under 200g, or decide to go for a flashier one and spend +2000g.
Its a problem if they ask for 10€ for a crappy reskin of a cheap armor.
You’re paying $10 for the added vanity of flame effects. A lot of people are willing to pay for it. You obviously don’t want to, but that’s a problem for you, not others.
How about make a refund request (when its back up) rather than using this forum? They don’t process any requests here.
