you only seem to have 16 vision crystals worth of frags… that’s not even enough for 1 precursor. Might want to keep saving…

Did i miss somethings. I’m pretty sure Anet never talked about the price of a precursor crafting yet. Maybe some leak? Do you have a source for that?

There is no confirmation that these would be involved in precursor crafting. It would also be curious to see how a T7 mat would result in an exotic weapon (precursor).

However, be prepared to have non-tradeable/time-gated materials to be used in precursor crafting in order to keep the value of precursors from crashing.

-T7 mats
-Mithrillium/Residue

There will also more than likely be other materials that will act as sinks that can be tradeable. I honest to god hope that leather will be used to make the precursor/legendary books.

This has been slowly but surely getting worse over the last 6 months. The amount of times I have been left for dead when there are no mobs about is ridiculous. A perfect example was a while ago. Me and another got killed just before our zerg had finished off a boss in a temple in Orr. There must have been a good 25-30 people there and all they did was loot the chest and then leave. I’ve seen it happen on champ trains on various maps, people are downed and just left there, it takes a few seconds for a few people to revive somebody. I now call this game Greed Wars 2 because that is all it is, the “me me me me” generation. I’ve seen it happen loads of times in the new content that was released the other day. People are downed, there are no mobs about and other players will just run past them and not help.

Why don’t you just WP? If you finished a temple, the WP is right there.

For armorsmithing 400-500, it will cost you 86G
http://www.gw2crafts.net/armorcraft_400.html

Although I suggest looking over at Leatherworking since Elonian Leather is cheaper. Depending on where your crafting is, it’s cheaper in the long-run.

The cost of materials for the item itself keeps changing. A day ago it was calculated at approximately:

98G for Tailor
155G for Armorsmith
50G for Leatherwork

As for the time it takes, you need 925 blades. I think I average about 200 blades each LA (depends on your class and farming smart). So you need at least 5 LA events to do (5 hours).

If they ran past you, fine you got something going.

But often I see players who do not play smart.

If you are 25% downed and you notice that a mob nearby is low health and currently being attacked by someone else, what is the smart thing to do?

Heal yourself?

NO!

You tag that mob so you can rally as soon as it’s dead.

If I see 4 normal mobs ganging up on a downed player, I 100% of the time will not rez you immediately. I can kill 4 normal mobs quicker than it takes to rez one player while taking hits. And I certainly expect players to realize this and tag the mob so that they will rally right away.

In regards to the 90% Karma Nerf:

I’ve googled the topic over and over again trying to understand and possibly overcome this nerf implemented by ANet. There’s been I’m sure countless threads on this subject and on many different forums, as I have discovered many just in my searches alone, but in none of them did I see a response from ANet.

To keep this short: Why is that, ANet? Help me, and other players concerned with this move you took to understand why.

It’s been far too long.

TL;DR bolded

Why?

Because they wanted karma to have value. They wanted account bound currencies to have value.

People as it is hate the way rewards are handed out for bosses like Teq or wurm. Now, instead of rewarding everyone guaranteed exotics and destroying their value, they have rewarded people with guaranteed karma. That way people who desperately need karma have the incentive to run these events.

I’m a farmer. Here is my opinion about it

1.) The map is glorious. Very well done. Scripted scenes and VA are done well. The camps, and the Vigil especially are done well.

2.) The events are repetitive and could use some work. It seems you have three types of events. You have the miasmi events, the escort events and the special kill events. I think they could have created more interesting event dynamics that would cater towards both the zergs and the smaller groups. This also makes it feel less ‘grindy’ when you have more variety. Right now the variety in the miasmi events is strictly the type of mob you face.

3.) I wish there were more doodads on the map. Right now we just have ruined structures. There really isn’t enough strewn paper on the ground, destroyed carts, crushed apples (Tybalt god bless his soul), e.t.c.

It just feels as if before the invasion, LA was empty and everything you see destroyed is just structures. At least throw some corpses here and there.

4.) Anet could have implemented some events outside of LA. I understand that this is a patch mainly for LA, but it would be nice if there were supplementary events in the nearby zones.

Overall I rate this update 8/10.

I won’t be happy until Leather sections hit 20c at a minimum. Hopefully that happens during BoTW

I’m hoping it goes up to 2s just like silk… then I will be happy.

That would turn my measley 200g leather in the Pick-up tab worth 4800G.

But it would have be an awfully huge sink considering hundreds of other players are probably hoarding leather as well.

you have 1000 stacks of leather? how do you store all those.

You purchase several accounts and utilize the BLTC pick-up tab as storage. You can store an infinite (as far as we know) amount of items there.

The only risk about doing this is if you place your buy orders and the price moves up. Your gold is then ‘lost’ until you cash out the items. This happened to me this week when I lost about 60G due to buy orders not being filled.

I have two extra accounts, so I’m able to invest in an unlimited amount of two commodities, while at the same time having 10 storage guilds to hold even more items.

One word, Districts

Let everyone choose where to meet up at.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Districts

Here is what would happen if we had districts

“Join district 1”
Full
“Join district 2”
Full
“Join district 3”
Full

“Join district 9”
Only 5 ppl here.

It’s no different than the overflow system and would cause a lot more problems, including but not limited to:

-increased server costs
-botting/exploiting opportunities
-spread out playerbase

With the exception that you can choose where to go. I played GW1 during large events never had problems meeting up with people.

Also since you’re comparing districts to over flows which are basically the same thing, except you can’t choose what overflow you wind up in then there could be a hypothetical over flow with 5 people. So that renders that invalid. The player base is already spread out with overflows, allowing you to choose your overflow would at least allow guilds and parties to work together.

I fail to see how this increases server costs or is any more of a problem with botting, because overflows stay open as long as players are in them just like a District would.

Districts are overflows that you can choose.

How does this increase server costs? Because each overflow is considered a map on a server. They need to allocate resources for this. And how are overflows/districts going to be created? Fixed number? Unlimited? This can be abused.

And it will be a problem for botting. Think about it.

Let’s say you are a major botting tycoon that wants to keep characters undisturbed. You would create your own district and invite hundreds of your bot accounts to it. This way you can fill your own district and not allow any non-botters in there.

Why aren't dynamic events dynamic?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Vol.7601

One of the things promised in this game is a dynamic world. Well if dynamic you mean do event, wait for timer and do exact same event again…well yeah you got it. They blew up Lion’s Arch but the whole storyline is already plotted out to the very end. Why not have different possible outcomes and let the story play out. For now its zerg lag zerg lag.

Because you are asking a lot from a 200-person company, which only a fraction are game designers.

You are asking Anet to design new content from scratch in two weeks in response to player choices.

That is unreasonable and impossible.

It takes 6 months to design the content we have now.

We have some dynamic events in different vanilla areas, but they are difficult to create and branching stuff means more work.

GW2 went down from 81 mio in Q4 2012 to 23.1 mio in Q4 2013.

Ain’t nobody got time and money for dynamic events. Everyone gets the same dish, all events are success or failure only nowadays.

Do you know why sales went down or are you just copy/pasting figures?

The mandatory overflow complain

Vol.7601

Just a reminder: I already gave you guys the solution earlier in the thread.

Everybody: you can fix the problem with overflows without removing overflows. You do it the same way Personal Stories are kicked off. You have this option:
Join in Lion’s Arch (Overflow) <—- exists now
Instead of just saying the world is full, it pops up a new option: Invite Party to Overflow
This pops up a box (like the one for the Personal Story) that lets each party member accept an invite. Everybody who accepts is moved simultaneously to an overflow with room for them.
It’s not IMPOSSIBLE to solve. There are more than 2 options (overflows that split party and queues.) Be a little more creative here.

Sounds nice in theory but you are ignoring the repercussions from this. For one, each overflow acts as a server. The more servers, the more resources and costs involved. If you do not include a cap on the number of overflows that can be created, then this can be abused to bring down the game.

And we are also forgetting about the bots who would create their own private overflow. Out of sight = out of mind.

I was getting really bad lag during the marionette fight, it would take ages for my skills to activate (which usually meant it was too late to do anything when they did) and the same has been happening in LA sometimes.

I assumed it was my computer because it’s about 4 years old now. I can normally play with high graphics settings but it really struggles if there’s a lot going on and I have to turn the settings right down. I’m waiting for a new CPU and graphics card to arrive so I can upgrade it.

The graphics card won’t help a lot, and even the best CPU for consumers on the market won’t be able to handle mega zergs.

Anet needs to optimize the game further before you can start getting +35 FPS in huge zergs on very high settings.
