It would, the question would still be why. Pretty much all reviews in the last 2 years have shown DX12 to either give equal or lower/considerably lower performance, for absolutely zero visual gains. Yet people keep dragging it up like its the second coming of Christ for graphics engines.

yup we do and will not give up at all ,. you really should try out eso and wow for yourself and see the big difference. they are both free to play .

and Pretty much all reviews in the last 2 years means noting at all . not one thing at all!! what means something is when you go play that game for your own self . on your own comp and find out the real answers for your self . and not some ones hear say.

umm yup DX12 would be the thing to ask for . but we all know fully well that answer
even with DX11 . sigh this is why i been seeing other games and enjoying the nice stuff in them like eso and wow. must admit with my high end comp DX11 makes the games a bit more nicer to enjoy . even tho i still love this game and play ugh on lower settings sigh it is disappointment knowing i can run ultra settings . but yet ahh with the game

I’ll explain why this is unlikely , in a way that everyone can understand.

The reason 4k user interfaces are possible in modern operating systems, particular in the desktop and in web applications, is because these systems use Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), TrueType Fonts (TTF) or similar technologies when rendering everything, so it all just scales to whatever resolution or DPI you are using.

This is not the case with video games, because video games have to use textures. You can’t just upload an SVG file to the graphics card and have it render it. OpenGL and DirectX support scalable user interfaces but NOT what you texture them with, so unless the textures are really high resolution, it becomes super blurry.

Let’s just assume that, between all the professions, all the skills, all the traits, all the armor and weapons, and everything else in the game, there’s about maybe 10,000 icons. Not only would ArenaNet have to redraw all of those in a high resolution, but you would need a minimum of 256×256 textures for the icons and they would take up an additional ~1.9GB of space (much less with JPG/DXT, but artifacts), compared to the ~118MB of space taken up by the textures for 64×64 icons.

To put this into perspective, “4k” is ~16x the game’s intended resolution (1024×768).

Then imagine what impact this also has on your VRAM, even with texture compression, and how much game world texturing you’re sacrificing just to display a bunch of colored buttons on the screen.

Its simple, this isn’t some FPS where you only have a dozen icons in the whole game. MMOs have thousands upon thousands upon thousands of icons and that number only increases exponentially for the longer the game is expanded and updated.

The best you could hope for is high-resolution dialogs and text rendering. They can scale the user interface up for usability, but it’s gonna look bad.

Run the game in 1920×1080 resolution and turn on supersampling.

That’s just dumb and basically belong to state of mind of"As long as i dont have that problem the rest can go to ^&*(".
The tec is out for years,it is available for many and as such should be addressed.
Other then that GW2 DOES support 4k resolutions.Its there in options..go take a look in available resolutions..
Only thing they haven’t done is add UI scaling for it.

How about installing a DPS metre and self improving yourself?

You are not being kicked cause a DPS meter ISVs running – it’s because they believe you are running sub par to their exp group. It’s often an eye opener to see what you believe and what’s going on.

A good commander will look at DPS, buff uptime and situational awareness before recommending to kick. They may only give one of the reasons why they kicked – if your running at 50% of the DPS you should – why should they carry you?
You could secretly be running nomads armor or dying after 30s into an encounter (yes – I’ve had people who often die repeatedly 30s into a8 min fight- may only give them low DPS as a reason : however the real reason is more obvious – you don’t understand or have enough experience with this boss or lag preventing the whole group from achieving the goal of completing this encounter).

If it’s a training run they may address what’s going wrong to help you get the numbers you would expect so the whole group has a much easier time.

DPS meters running them yourself would at least allow you to compare yourself to others and see if how good you think you are vs others is really true. These encounters are not a static punching golem which will ensure the numbers are much lower.

Take the opportunity to learn how to get better – if you can’t beat them join them. They have decided to improve and so can you.

getting back on topic some of us want dps meters blocked .and shut down fully . and do not need to use dps meters at all . that is the part you will never get ever .

when dps meters was green lite in this game . that was when it was yet another bad
choice made and another nail in the coffin. and you sure do not need to use dps
meters in pve pvp or wvw . and you do not need them in raids there is just no need for these which that can lead to letting hackers tools be used not one so ever

i never ever ever like the concepts or making of the metta maps stuff at all. more so with

playing Guild Wars for so long. but ahh since we all are forced to this meta stuff i still

its something that is i want in a reward at the end of it . that is the only time i even

Guild Wars 2 is still a good game to get into far as free mmo,s go . and despite it using

You were talking about an MMO from late 2004 who revamped their engine, which is Obviously WOW, that’s the game who had billions of income.

at least you get it and yes they do with there system . but they are now using DX11 and

more . and for me the way i see it . i like to hope Anet Devs take offence to that fact

in doing so could stand a good chance to bring people back to the game as well as

Its only Software…..lol.. You say it like it is one of the easiest job in the world……. Are you even aware that guild wars 2 is a multi player online game? Anet still needs money to pay for running the servers………. You cannot play gw2 without a server running…….staff salaries, taxes, medical payments, bonuses, bandwidth cost, serves cost, office overheads……..etc……

Gw2 is not running a subscription base mmorpg…..it earns money from cash shop sales and the game purchase…………gw2 is not going to last very long if it doesn’t have enough revenue……

other things have been good for the game . despite lacking of game fixes and so forth

Why there are no underwater dungeons, or why all the new maßs got so few underwater places.

Mabye we can also get some Story with the Deep Sea Dragon or smth.

- it shows that your members actually give a kitten about what guild they are in atm and are not just there because they fell like it.

- it eventually builds an internal community of core players that make the heart of the guild.

- it roots out the people who just want to leech.

- it shows people on world map further growing the sense of belonging to a certain guild.

and in the end if you dont like rep policies you dont have to join

the only people who have a problem with this are :

-people who join multiple guilds with rep policies then get angry when you tell them to rep (brain power i know).

I didn’t play much with the PvP part of GW1 so I don’t have much opinion on it. You had Guild vs Guild or you had Faction vs Faction.

As for PvE, GW1 was mainly a co-op and not so much MMO. There was no open world, everything was instanced to your group.

GW2 is more of an open world MMO (although not completely open). Instead of having heroes and henchmen to fill out your party, you solo through most stuff and group up with other players for only part of the content.

I think of the two game, GW1 was still better. I know some will disagree with me on that, but I think everyone can agree the story cinematic was much better in Gw1.

You can still participate in … well, everything else. Events are still going strong in the rest of the game, so I’m not sure how Wintersday is slowing you down.

ok here again another case in point , ahh to begin with Guild Wars 2 holiday Events is

not even like the Guild Wars events at all even . and thus making them no fun or not

worth the time to be bothered with them at all . also too the fact these 2 events are

just rehashed events with noting new ever at all added to them make it even more

so worthless to be bothered with them at all in the pve content , even more so when

you got siad ranks all done . its just more wasted time then its worth . and thus makes

the pve maps more of a pain in the kittens . when your doing pve content and come

across that stuff . now if it was set up the way the Guild Wars events was done . ok

i said its just more of a pain for these events to happen in pve content then they are

I disagree; guilds mean just as much now (if not more) than they did at launch. They are tools for organizing groups of people: in good hands, they are easier to utilize; under less skilled management, they aren’t any worse.

and think that is where anet went super wrong on the dungeon concepts fully . and

giving how guilds are now all to me at best the only use for guilds these days if is that

is easy farming nodes found in the guild halls themselves . otherwise guilds are just

I’m sorry you haven’t found a good group of people to hang with. I know it makes a huge difference for me, as to how much I enjoy the game.

One thing that seems to be true in every game is that guilds and potential members have trouble finding each other. I haven’t seen any service (or even seen a theoretically one designed) that would address this substantially. Guild Hosting sites try to do it, server-specific forums have tried, some games have tried.

But in the end, no amount of software/mail/forums can handle the fundamental requirement: to find a guild that suits you requires trying a lot of guilds; like dating, only the luckiest among us end up wanting to spend the rest of our (gaming) life with the first one we find.

like Guild Wars . which for me is good long as i do not have to be forced to deal with

stupid meta events taken over the whole maps and so forth . or be bothered at all

with people fighting these so called world bosses on pve maps which for me is just

another useless thing and messing up the pve maps for me fully forcing me to leave the

said maps .and if i can not do that then i got to stop playing altogether . as the fun for

me is taken out of it with all this meta world boss map junk

agrees with op there should be a far more better way to global block as well as the same

for e-mails too . not sure how many you can put on the blocked list .but can say it does

need more improvements . and the same goes for e-mails too. you should just have

that right to fully block spammers and people who bother you in the game. that is like

the following tab on the list to me them people are stalking!! and need to be removed

from the game fully . them people always hit my blocked list . i do hope anet steps up

to the plate on this and improves this but .truth be told we know they will not do that

at all

at best worst cases all the two games share is the name of guild wars and is not even the

same games at all even . case in point in the original guild wars . you could leave towns of

people behind and for get them all . and enjoy good maps with no meta junk or events

junk and not even be bothered by other people at all even . thus making guild wars 2

a major insult to Guild Wars its self very honestly which make me enjoy the first

Guild Wars even more so then this game Guild Wars2 . and when i come across

more better spent working on what the games have to offer in way of pve content

this is a very good suggestion as Guild rep feature means noting at all any more and

making it very useless just like guilds themselves. hope anet does take this out !! as it

offers noting at all to players or guilds themselves at all and in the end really honestly

interesting how prices get more better bring better deals for all . and yet they cry about it

instead of thinking to the bright side of this like hey cheaper prices hum i got the gold

now maybe i will get a stack or two of mats or iron and stock up for my crafting stuff .

thus selling more items at one time and making more gold . but that last part gets me

is the most of all this the gold . you got that much setting around got every thing you

The only reason I wouldn’t want this is because of the potential chat spam of meaningless achievements. Look at me, I completed “Daily Big Spender”!!!!!! People already spam random items as it is. Maybe if it was limited to Say chat only it would be alright.

this and not only that if they even did this at all to begin with . that would mean they

would be able to increase security of the game itself from hackers and do all other

improvements first that is much more need in the game. and not only that but also

add build saving to the game as well as better chat and guild stuff then there is now

and number of other things more importantly need in this game that what your asking
