what is really sad about all this is that other much older mmo,s have already done this stuff and left anet in the dust of guild wars standards .

it is a shame to see they have dumped dungeons all together . its like other things in the game that have came out and now are in the dust as well.

some of us do not give a kitten about DPS stuff and some of us play this game for fun !!

anet has a wikki already if some ones in need of information . they can find it their or ask . not that hard to do .

as another poster pointed out this fact . it isn’t up to ANet to define what accounts as “good at the game,” as that is usually something that individual players make the call on . and not what you think or deem “acceptable,” play .

I came here looking for a solution to mute that mini… I can understand players who like these sounds, I for one would be a sucker for a skritt mini saying “ooo shiny!” from time to time ^^ … but that toxic hybrid really kills all fun I have while playing.
When in Mistlock Sanctuary I can’t seem to be able to escape the sound once I’ve crossed path with a player using that mini. I’ve often changed instances, or just left the MS to avoid that sound. It’s a pity, I love the Mistlock Sanctuary…
Now that we have an option to mute items like music instruments and noisy weapons we can maybe hope for a fix of this problem. I mean, many players have been asking for a mute option since noisy minis and backpacks appeared…

while I feel you all in your discomfort it be nice if this was fixed . and toggle switch put in . and even tho it does not bother me at all . the only known fix besides the ones put in the game as of late . is to still only turn off all sound. for thos that suffer from these problems . it been nice if they had done all this stuff when they made the game .

I highly suggest looking up TTS if in NA. I lead the fight against the wurm for over a year and the content isn’t as hard as people think but requires numbers and people to listen two the three commanders.

teq event you got to be in the maps 30min before the event as well . think its been like that since the game changed .

Tequtal we used to setup an hour before the fight when the mega laser had a bug in it which didn’t fire however now days you can set up less than 10 mins or none at all.

not the maps I been on as of late you got a far better chance of getting ascended chest dropping

then setting up teq maps now with the mega servers . till the map gets full and if people even bother with paying any at all attention to those trying to set a map up for a win .

as people in the maps these days are now afk till the time for the event . or they just trash talk thos in chat trying to set up the map . shocking enough tho so far with all them problems . the maps not failed at all . how ever theirs been a few times the map has come close to failure

I don’t know man. I have a lot of fun in raiding and raids are worth for me in terms of gold, social interaction with other team members and progress towards ingame items. That’s why I was looking for a static group – the best decision you can do if you want to raid on a regular basis.

Create your own group that play, think, and are as experienced as you. This is what I’ve been telling people to do for years who were upset about skipping and speed runs in dungeons.

Bad players will still remain bad players if they do not want to take effort. The removal of DPS meters wouldn’t change anything. On the contrary people will kick more randomly again like before the introduction of meters instead of knowing the one(s) slacking.

Yes, paypal can be linked directly to a bank account, so you don’t even need a debit card (in Australia, but I presume elsewhere can do this too)

Got a confirmation for this? I know mounts will be used in core maps (and hot maps) but I can’t remember reading about WvW

you can not read about it . and the reason you can not read about it is this was talked about in if I remember right one of the last 2 or 3 guild chats on YouTube .

you need to farm a lot in order to do crafting and cooking . and make good buffs and gear for your toons in guild wars 2

right now wvw and pvp is in disarray but far as world events or meta events they are not as bad long as you pay attention to what is going on at that world or meta event and read the wiki on doing that event most of the time the world meta events go pretty easy almost .

it is pretty good as it always has been even with the changes and adding bosses to maps that require more than one player to do them . trying to do it your self tho will not just work out tho so you got to watch map chats for when others do them and join in . . but you still need to farm node for crafting just like I said before .

How hard and interested are the Raids

you need to get arc DPS meter and craft ascended gear before you can raid
and be ready for gear checks of some sort and make sure you get into a guild offering training in raids . even tho you could make your own LFG group . oh and be ready for a lot of salt when your doing raids .

If it’s costing you more gold to identify the gear than you’re making from the gear itself, then that eliminates any reason to identify it in the first place, thus saving you time and inventory space. Conversely, if identifying the gear ends up being profitable, that’s the exact opposite of a gold sink. Although if there’s something I’m missing about this topic, I’d love to read about it without digging through 11 pages of “stop making me work for my loot” posts

The unid gear IS a gold sink. But it is not robbing you of anything, you will get far more value from IDing than it costs you. It’s a material faucet and a gold sink, you get far more materials than the value of the gold you input.

You can ID for unique skins and loads more rares than you would ordinarily get from the same number of drops.

Edit: People do not realise that the unid themselves can salvage into low tier mats and you can get 18 of them per salvage. I saw 18 platinum from one salvage. Also, 16 rares IDd from 90 unids.

They need to remove gold from the system. I don’t get how people cannot understand this fact.

Have you seen how much loot you get from GW2? Your bags are overflowing all the time, why do people think they have added a system with a new expansion that will be less profitable than the core game? Look at HoT, the rewards you get there are miles better than core. PoF will be no exception.

Look, they can add in as much materials as they like, the result is people can craft more and the mats become cheaper, but they need to remove gold from the economy otherwise the capital just expands forever and inflation will increase dramatically.

I do not have that problem at all only time I even come some what close to that is if I done 2 map completions which hardly ever happens as I tend to clean bags after the first map is done

and I got all bag slots open and 20 slot bags make things more easy to deal with

mounts will be fully useable in wvw as well as in all of the game even in core maps too you will be able to use mounts fully . just like gliding you can use that all over too but you need hot to unlock the gliding .

no you will not be held back if you do not own hot. but I think you will not be able to use gliders or the mastery’s as well too until you buy hot .

you need to buy living story packs from the gem store to unlock them mastery points but I do not think you can use them for hot mastery if you do not own hot . but never the less you still need to buy living story packs from the gem store . to get the other mastery points for the core game and doing living story when the next one comes out while active . once you play that it will not cost you at all .

outclassed can be over come by getting new gear and runes . once you do that you should be on the same level like any one

would I be limited for owning one expansion and not the other?

you will not be able to play the Revenant profession if you do not own hot . hear again you not be able to use the mastery points from hot or that class

• That we already know the features of PoF; there will be no big surprises for that.
• That they are aware of (and share) our interest in build templates.
• That they do not have immediate plans for releasing any.

If you are suggesting that buying an item to expand the material storage by 250 should also expand your bank storage capacity by 250, then it’s an absurd suggestion, they would never do that. If it’s to expand the bank tabs by one, then it is more reasonable, but since there is already a gem item for that, they are not just going to give it to you for free now. You’d have to combine the prices, in which case, there is little point in doing it.

I’m not brave enough to venture more than a few posts into that thread, tbh.

But regardless, I’m not sure how unidentified gear can possibly be a gold sink. If it’s costing you more gold to identify the gear than you’re making from the gear itself, then that eliminates any reason to identify it in the first place, thus saving you time and inventory space. Conversely, if identifying the gear ends up being profitable, that’s the exact opposite of a gold sink. Although if there’s something I’m missing about this topic, I’d love to read about it without digging through 11 pages of “stop making me work for my loot” posts

I can respect that how ever I would say honestly I much rather read that one then say some of the other um long winded topics that are currently going

never the less I will try my best to give you that in say a short term nuts and bolts way .

basically the whole thing boils down to this unidentified gear basically you will get blues and greens and maybe every blue moon or so a rare maybe . but in order to id said items . you must do hearts quests each and every day you wish to id said items

which that costs you about 2 silver to id each item after you done said heart quest to id items to begin with which you might get some good mats and maybe you get junk mats .. that part is still in the unknown till the game comes out .

versus the other school of thought being you do not id these items . you might get at best 16 to 25 copper at best to just sell these to a vendor and be done with it .

versus the other school of thought if you do not do this id thing what is it your not getting or miss out on say maybe id 25 or 50 items and have 2 of them be rare items at best

that in the short as nut and bolts as I can put for you . I hope that helps you some what better to see why this is being called noting more than a gold sink .

it is welcomed to hear something I been saying for some time now . and put it far more better than I can apparently . my attempts to bring this topic up has fell of deaf ears if you will or the ones who do not wish to upgrade their pc,s like you and me have already done .

anet this topic has fell on deaf ears with them as well. giving the fact that when the game was made in 2012 some of this stuff could have been done already when the game was made.

anet wanted to cater to the low end users mostly I think giving the low end specs which they just change that with the new pack coming out .

while it is good to cater to that group of people as well too . anet as a company should not forget about us too that are able to use better hard ware and so forth and want to enjoy the game at its most best offerings possible to all

and given how the game has problems now with some of the NVidia 10 video card series which them posts mostly are in the bug and broken game forum .

it be nice to play on 2 g sync monitor 4k or use cross fire or SLI it be nice to be able to run 2 960 4 gig or 2 1080 TI 4 gig video cards at the same time as well as have support
for the new ryzen thread ripper cpu,s with multi core use .

I hate to say it, but I generally actively avoid paying much attention to chat. I realize asking a question in map chat is seeking feedback, but I personally prefer searching the wiki or YouTube guides to inform my ignorance on specifics over the general map population. The “backside” argument I see as an aesthetic argument. The uncomfortable argument is one where they are projecting themselves into the char and “seeing” themselves as a different sex. I don’t see it as a purely visual thing as a female can be covered up so that all you see is armor. It’s the projection of the self into that form that’s causing the discomfort for these people, not the form itself.

Plus, I must again stress, anyone busy staring at their character’s hind quarters is likely a detriment to their team because they won’t be watching the game.

I don’t ever stare at my character’s backside because I’m busy playing the game.

in hindsight I will say guilds could say have runs on world bosses and so forth . much like they do with raids . and help get achievements that their solo members could not get by them self’s

far as gvg goes well think we know they will not do that at all . and giving you can now have 5 guilds . well you could still do gvg in your halls I think . do not see why not honestly .

Identified all drops I received during the stress test. The majority were blue (item value 99 copper), some were green (value from 1 silver to aprox. 1 silver 60 copper) — every single item identified was in itself a negative impact on the wallet. Salvaging items that yielded Mithril Ore, loss of money. Salvaging items that had some profit tied to the material, very low profits. The system is horrible with the cost attached to it. Loot is not rewarding at all in Path of Fire with this being how things are, you lose money from getting loot. I hate it.

it was good at the time for guild wars but honestly it is not good for guild wars 2 . oh it,s a nice toss back and all that.

but with what you found out and posted here . well I think you can agree this is something not good for the game . and in guild wars you never got no rare drops from this stuff at all . just blues and greens like now .
