Well, the deed is done. I deleted my most neglected human, and feel much better after having done so. I really can’t manage more then 7 characters, but Thorn Gorecrow was worth deleting someone else.
I realized today that one of my non-charr characters was so neglected because I found her boring. So I deleted her, and made this delightful beastie instead. Thorn Gorecrow, kicked out of Iron Legion for consorting with renegades. Now in my main’s Blood Legion warband.
OP, you are ridiculous! What if a weapon had a Christian symbol? Would you get upset then? I bet not. What’s your problem with pagans? Pagans are great! I’ve met many pagans, and they are nice people with a beautiful religion. So what if Arenanet IS worshipping pagan gods? There’s nothing wrong with that!
Real world religions are NOT offensive. If it’s not your cup of tea, then don’t get involved. Furthermore, it’s us humans who give power to images and symbols. They don’t mean anything bad unless we decide to freak out and say “That’s bad!”. I honestly hope this is a troll post…
I can sympathize with the people who say “Well, females have felt this way for generations! Now males occasionally feel it, and they freak out!”. For years, women characters have been sub-par, and women players have been largely ignored. I bet a lot of women players have a lot of pent-up frustration from that.
That said, reverse-sexism is still wrong. That’s why, if this game was truly sexist against men, I would be concerned. However, I don’t think you’re correct, OP.
The living story has featured a good number of strong, well-written female characters. However, if you examine the game as a whole, it’s pretty 50/50. Strong, excellent male characters include…
Tybalt! Who doesn’t love Tybalt? He’s full of personality.
Forgal! He’s also got a great, well-developed personality. He’s rough and masculine, intelligent, practical, and he’s got a hilarious sense of humor.
Bhuer Goreblade! He’s a competent centurion of the Iron Legion, and an early mentor for charr characters
Maverick, Clawspur, and Dinky! Each of these warband-mates has a unique personality and take on life.
Trahearne! Yeah, you heard me. Arenanet screwed up in portraying him in the personal story, but seriously. The guy is a scholar and hero devoted to saving Orr. He leads the Pact—was able to successfully bring together the three Orders and hold them together. He is able to interact with all the races—even those who are generally unfriendly, like the Largos.
Dougal Keane! This guy doesn’t play a major role in your character’s story, but he is the hero of the Ghosts of Ascalon novel. Because of him, the charr and humans were able to form their alliance.
Steward Gixx! The leader of the Durmand Priory. He’s a humorous character, because he gets so frustrated with Sieran, but you can tell that he really cares about her and about the priory. He’s a wise and competent leader.
Also, there are lots of historic male characters like Cobiah Marriner, Pyre Fierceshot, Prince Rurik, Durmand, Ventari, Ronan, and Snaff!
Lastly, just because Guild Wars 2 portrays female personalities and roles so well, that doesn’t mean it’s flawless.
Females can still only pick a small range of rail-thin (eating disorder, anyone?) body types with exaggerated sexual traits (big breasts, flirty idle animations). Unlike some of the male faces, no female faces have any scars or flaws (except for one norn face with a few scratches). The humanoid female characters, like Eir, Jennah, and so-on, all look like supermodels. Lastly, some of the armors still give male characters a completely covering robe, and female characters a corresponding bikini. So the message that females must appeal sexually to men, in order to be important, is still there.
That’s not to say Guild Wars 2 is bad. It’s a great game. Just, it isn’t all peachy and perfect when it comes to portrayal of women

I play 8 characters. 2 Charr, 2 Humans, and 2 Asura and 1 Norn & Sylvari.
If you want to make more char go for it.
I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to make another alt? lolDo you like to RP?
Well, all you people have convinced me. I’ll be buying a new character slot this evening, despite my misgivings.
XD I think my issue with making another alt is that I want to give all my characters equal attention. Regular leveling and good gear should be a basic character right haha. At this point, I lavish way too much love on only my main. 2-5 get a reasonable amount of attention, number six is mildly underplayed, and number seven could file for neglect.
I like to RP, but I’m a bit wary of really stepping into it. For regular, structured RP I’d need to find a guild, but since I’m a student I worry that I won’t be able to put enough time into the guild RP
I’m guessing you guys are just talking about the Rox horns and female ears?
Possibly, as those are the only ones I have checked. However, I know that there is a horn/ear set for males that was also static. It may have changed too, but I would not know.
Edit: I checked, the male horn/ears are scalable too.
The male hornset has been scale-able for months. I think the last time I checked was about 2 months back for a charr art project, and they were scale-able at that time.
Since the forward-facing female horns were added not long after molten alliance, it makes sense that a-net might not have worked out all the kinks. At any rate, I’m glad they have.
I like it.
What does she look like?
This, but maybe with spots. Debating spots versus stripes
As for lasers, airships, and robots co-existing with dagger-wielding bandits robbing farms and tribal hut-centaurs… you see some of that in real life. There are groups of humans who still live in tribal societies, build huts, and hunt with spears.
The difference being that Industralized nations aren’t freaking out because a tribe of spear-wielding hunters is about to destroy the world with their mighty power.
Right. Because an industrialized nation would never freak out and send an army to a country where people live in caves and shepherd goats…oh wait.
That said, in GW2 the more primitive cultures are still a threat because of magic. I mean, look at the centaur and their primitive lifestyle, then look at their leaders with their giant fire tornadoes and 50 foot tall stone hands that come out of the ground. Some factions are a threat in this game because of tech (charr) while others are a world power because of magic (Queen Jenna is super saiyan 4).
Essentially this. Also, keep in mind that the centaurs aren’t attacking the centers of technology. They’re attacking farmers, small villages, and towns on the edge of human territories—places where the new technology hasn’t reached. Although they aren’t a threat to places like Rata Sum, Divinity’s Reach, Lion’s Arch, and the like—where technology does reign supreme—they are still killing many innocent people in rural areas. To the hardworking farmer or common townsfolk, the centaurs are a threat, because technology hasn’t yet moved out of the capitols and major warzones like Orr. Until it does, those people are vulnerable, and the Krytan military will be on its toes trying to help.
The centaur in Lion’s Arch has specifically brought this up. He says that if the charr move into Kryta with their technology, the centaurs will essentially be doomed. And it’s only a matter of time, since the charr and humans have aligned. Once tech becomes widespread, and the top races have time to fully focus on centaurs, well… bye bye centaurs.
At the moment, all the technology is being focused on bigger threats, like the dragons, the Molten Alliance, and the Aetherblades.

Wow, check your attitude.
Weindrasi, tell me about your character concept. I’d love to hear it.
As for your problem; do you have any character slots left? If so, why not just create it and see how it goes? You can always delete him/her again.
The people who have an attitude in their replies are the most hilarious XD
The first poster is essentially right, I’m just barfing my brain-fart material on the forums <3
The charr would be Thorn Gorecrow, an engineer who was thrown out of Iron Legion for consorting with renegades. She has since been invited to my main’s Blood warband—Centurion Gorefell plans on exploiting Thorn’s hatred of humans & the Iron Legion, for evil ends.

So I was thinking and I came up with a great idea for a charr character. The problem is, I already have four charr plus three other characters. 7 is already more than I can handle, but I keep thinking about that new charr. I have the name and look all planned out and it’s AMAZING and I WANT TO, but I MUST NOT DO IT! AAARRRGHH!
It’s reasonable enough that the Molten Alliance would be inspired by some well-placed tips from Scarlet, but would they really follow her as leader?
Both the dredge and the Flame Legion have a similar view of females—they believe that males are the natural masters. In their own societies, having a female lead anything besides the kitchen brigade would be unthinkable. It seems unusual to me that a culture of males accustomed to having their females for slaves would obey Scarlet and move their forces as she directs. Especially after the Molten Alliance was beaten so badly before.
Plus, there are a significant amount of charr in the Aetherblades. The Aetherblade charr would probably have very negative feelings toward the Flame charr, and the Aetherblades in general would probably scorn the religious zealotry in the Flame side of the Molten Alliance. As for the dredge, they hate everybody.
Seems to me like it would be very hard to get these groups to obey orders, much less work together for a long period without beating each other’s brains in. What could Scarlet have offered them that was good enough to make them overlook everything else?
Horray! I just logged in to my charr. I stared at her and thought to myself “Did her horns…. just get… Bigger?” “No, that’s impossible!”. I checked my old screenshots and HOLY FRICK, her horns got bigger. I used my hair kit to check, and yep, they’re scaleable. Since I had my horns on max, the edit made the scale go up for her.
Yep! It happened to my character too, just with something different. It may be hard to see, but my character’s ears on the upper screencap are thinner than the bottom one. I had them set to about half way for some reason when I made her, so it changed it whenever this update occurred; never noticed until I reset it to middle when re-customizing though.
Yep, my ears seem a bit smaller too

I’m happy that you’re capable of enjoying yourself on such a base level. Sadly, after absorbing a large amount of literature , comic book/scooby doo villians with paper thin motivations and see through agendas no longer “do it” for me.
You probably haven’t seen alot of fantasy stories because most people complaining have legitimate complaints and have seen this cliche character archetype so much it’s annoying to say the least. Heck there’s even a trope bout it it’s used that much.
Just because you require all your villains to be deep, conflicted, complicated beings doesn’t mean my enjoyment of a more simplistic villain is “base” or mentally inferior. Furthermore, I read constantly, and I have seen villains of all sorts and kinds from the “Team Rocket” and “Scooby Doo” style, to midrange “Voldemort” types, to multi-layered ones like Captain Kennit from Robin Hobb’s trilogy. And I enjoy ALL of them, because they all offer their own brand of uniqueness and fun.
Lastly, we barely know anything about Scarlet or her motivations. We don’t know if she’s cliché, because we know virtually nothing about her past, her character, her inner thoughts and conflicts, or her ultimate goals. We do, however, know that she influenced the Molten Alliance, and has dealings with the baddies in the other past living stories, and in my mind that is quite a compelling and interesting thing to follow.
…As for her just “appearing out of nowhere”, she didn’t. She’s been working behind the scenes since the Molten Alliance, as I mentioned above.

1. I agree that it’s weird, but it would be too big of a design change to make the character walk upright. Rather, they need to make the NPC’s run on all fours—I’ve always considered the fact that they don’t to be a glitch.
2. Impossible. Charr armor is based on their hunched figure. Plus, it would be lore-breaking. Standing upright was an unnatural cultural practice of Flame Legion shamans. Since Flame Legion is now hated, and their culture rejected, a charr who altered his natural stance to be upright would be scorned. It’s probably not only harmful to the body, but it would make the charr a less capable soldier. If human soldiers had to bend over 24-7 due to a cultural norm, they would make poor fighters
3. Agree to an extent. Flame Legion have claws like they do because they physically mutilate themselves for their religion—something no non-Flame charr would do. There also can’t be that much variation on the shape of the claws, since they are the charr’s bones, and crazy-shaped bones would just be a physical hindrance. However, we should be able to pick from a variety of claw colors—white, yellowish, grey, black, ect.
4. 100% agree about horns
5. I don’t like the idea of hiding boots… we can already hide helms, shoulders, and gloves. I think by the point we can hide 4/6 of our armor, it’s too much. That said, Anet needs to design a variety of boots that are actually MADE FOR CHARR FEET. Like the Flame Legion straps you mentioned. If Flame Legion has anything right, it’s their shoe style.
6. Maybe.
7. Maybe…depends on how they’d implement it
8. Yeah, it’s really dumb and needs fixing
9. 100% agree
Three of my four charr share a warband.
Nyoka Gorefell is the legionnaire, and then there’s:
Tionvrath Gorefall
Raigra Gorebutcher
…My fourth charr, Albane Memorykeeper, was in the Gore warband for a brief stint as “Gorememory”, but her ethics were at odds with Nyoka’s, so she ended up leaving and is now a gladium…. so her name doesn’t match the others.
I completely disagree. Scarlet was a lot of fun, and I really enjoy her character. You guys are being way too critical—I think Anet did a great job of mixing cartoon-villain humor with serious situations.
As for her education, it was hinted at that there was some sort of deception involved there—so we don’t know for sure. And anyway, if the Asura can play the “I’m super educated” card, why can’t a Sylvari? I find it intriguing that she was permitted to attend Asuran college at all… this opens up potential for a whole cultural exploration of the Asuran colleges and outside races.
I just wanted to say that I was irritated when I saw how much people on here were slamming Scarlet. I think she is marvelous. The critical people just need to sit back and enjoy. The Queen’s Speech instance had me laughing out loud, marveling at the artistic creativity of Scarlet’s minions, and just generally enjoying myself. It was a pleasure to play. So far, the Living Story villains as a whole—from the Flame & Frost bosses, to the Aetherblades, and so-on, have been great fun.

I really like the sci-fi themes. And I do think it fits. You had the 100% fantasy theme going on 250 years ago in Guild Wars 1… but even then there were signs of technology, and the world seemed like it was on the verge of a new age. So of course, in modern-day Tyria, technology will have vastly changed. Think of the difference between, say, the United States of 1750, and the United States of 2000. Huge advances!
I think it’s fitting that all this new, hyper-advanced technology is appearing because all the races have just recently become allies. Now that they’re combining their individual knowledge—both magical and mechanical—the results are bound to be spectacular. Asuran magic+Charr technology+Human gizmos+Sylvari growing magic+Norn craftsmanship? It all adds up to very advanced stuff.
Plus, since the races have Asura gates for swift transport, a universal language and writing system, the printing press, and Asuran computer memory—they can communicate freely. Distance isn’t a barrier—to an even greater extent than it is for us in the real world.
Also, I don’t think it’s contradictory to have warriors in armor, running around wielding swords, alongside tanks and machine guns because of one primary reason: Magic. The traditional sword-and-armor types have magic to enhance their physical abilities to superhuman proportions. If you look at the warrior skills, a lot of them use very minor, subtle magics to enhance physical performance. Kind of like a steroid with twice the effectiveness and none of the negative side effects. Combine that with sci-fi standard armor body suits and magic weapons… and your traditional sword-and-armor guy would accomplish a ton and not be obsolete at all.
As for lasers, airships, and robots co-existing with dagger-wielding bandits robbing farms and tribal hut-centaurs… you see some of that in real life. There are groups of humans who still live in tribal societies, build huts, and hunt with spears. There are traditional rural communities without technology. Combine that with the fact that, in Guild Wars 2, the technological expansion was only made possible over the past few years—it makes sense that you’d see a lot of that. When a new innovation comes out, no matter how fantastical or convenient, not everyone is going to immediately adopt it and become advanced. Culture, tradition, poverty, and all that other societal stuff comes into play. For example, in real life, flying cars have been designed, but you don’t see us everyday commoners zipping around in them. Designer babies have been designed too—parents can pick and choose exactly which of their genes they want their baby to have… but again, hardly anybody uses that.

I have 7 characters, and it’s almost more than I can handle. I’ve considered deleting my 7th, but as of yet I haven’t worked up the guts to do it. My other 6, I absolutely adore, so they’re here to stay. These 6 are pictured below.
From left to right:
1. Raigra Gorebutcher- She’s a Blood Legion soldier who is small for a warrior, but tough. She isn’t very bright, drinks too much, and is a bully—but she is slavishly devoted to her Centurion, Nyoka.
2. Wynne Gautr- She is descended from the ancient Kurzick people of Cantha, and takes her heritage very seriously. She lived for a few years with the Sylvari.
3. Albane Memorykeeper- She was Iron Legion, but lost her warband and became a Gladium. She joined Blood Legion’s Gore Warband, but found the tactics of her Centurion-Nyoka-morally objectionable, and deserted, became Gladium permanently.
4. Nergal Junior- Once the child of human nobles, his family was forced to leave Divinity’s Reach after he accidentally killed a playmate with necromancer powers. He tries to do good, but has violent tendencies, and is outcast among others.
5. Tionvrath Gorefall- Mentally and physically disabled from years of torture at the hands of Flame Legion, Tionvrath is nonetheless a formidable necromancer for Blood Legion.
6. Nyoka Gorefell- Ruthless, moral-less, and intelligent—Nyoka has risen to the rank of Centurion, despite her youth. She leads through brutality and fear, intentionally using the least intelligent charr to form her warband, so she can brainwash and control them easily.
I like to create my charr based on what would be appropriate to their culture. My two charr warriors are, in my mind, very much a part of mainstream society, because their profession reflects the military prowess that charr respect. My elementalist, on the other hand, is a gladium (outcast) who fell out of favor with her prior Legionnaire, and my necromancer, while useful within his warband, is ostracized by most.
Essentially, I consider how I want to think of a charr character. Do I want it to feel like a mighty leader or respected soldier? Then I go warrior, ranger, engineer, even thief. Or do I want it to feel like a maverick, a rebel/outcast, someone who pushes social boundaries? Then I go elementalist, Mesmer, necro, or guardian. (Contrary to popular perception, the guardian motto of defense, protecting the weak, & magic is very much against charr culture)
6/10
I like that he has an almost futuristic look—kind of aetherblade-ish. The light orange combined with the metallic colors is also spot on. However, his shoulder armor floats ridiculously high on his shoulders (Not your fault—almost no shoulders look good on charr). Minus the shoulders, I’d have probably given an 8/10. That greatsword, while cool-looking, also bugs me because I know from experience how badly that clips with his bottom and tail. (But again, not your fault).
I recently changed the entire look of one of my warriors, Raigra Gorebutcher. In the story I have in my head, she starts out this none-too-bright Blood Legion brute who serves her evil-minded Centurion with near-slavish devotion. Her barbaric-looking armor set reflected that. But the Centurion ultimately betrays her, and leaves her bereft of purpose. I haven’t decided where she’ll go, but her new armor means to reflect how her life has utterly changed. Plus it just looks cool.

Hahahaha can you imagine Logan’s reaction? Oh my gosh, I REALLY want to see it XD
He’d blame himself and become suicidal. Which, under normal circumstances, would be sad, but when it’s Logan…
I really hope Queen Jenna dies.
Brutalistik, the problem with gender-based armor, even if it has lots of variety and is totally unsexualized, is this…
Essentially, it sounds like you’re saying that it’s more important to offer real-world players variety, than follow the fake, in-game charr culture (where there wouldn’t be gendered armor). That’s a sensible argument, since real-world preference should take precedence over in-game unrealism, in a game trying to appeal to the public. Since you’re arguing from a real-life perspective, so will I.
In real life, gender has been used to divide people and discriminate against them. From sexism in the workplace, to blue=male/pink=female, to our everyday behavior—it’s all determined by our sex, usually whether we like it or not. Although women have traditionally been the oppressed group, society’s strict rules about gender are annoying and restricting to both sexes. For the most part, we can’t even escape this in video games—our characters are forced to look and act a certain way based on their gender. There may be lots of armor variety, but even this variety is restricted—for example, male characters cannot wear dresses or hypersexual outfits, and female characters cannot wear some male armors, because they get “Sexy gear” instead.
A game should be an escape from the annoyances and troubles of everyday life. The way society restricts people based on gender is one of those annoyances. Guild Wars 2, at last, has offered us an escape from this through the charr. The charr have no gender roles or stereotypes. They aren’t limited like we are. It is incredibly liberating, to be able to wear and do whatever you want, in spite of your gender. In charr-land, nobody cares if something is “manly” or “girly”. It’s fun.
To take that escape away, in favor of variety restricted by gender, would be a mistake.
I found a set that I loved for my light armor charr. No clipping issues either! (The user above me is using the same pants as I am—there’s a real tail hole!)
I have the feathered top, masquerade pants, and sandals—all of which can be crafted or purchased via the trading post.
Those of you who don’t see the overt sexualization in the watchnights need to open your eyes. Creating a robot using the female anatomy, including all the nude details, is one thing. I’m not protesting that. But when it’s a nude female robot with high heels, a supermodel figure, enormous balloon breasts, and a bum designed to draw the eye PLUS the fact that there are no male nude watchnights—that is clearly SEXUALIZATION, not just nudity.
It’s disturbing, it’s sexist, and it degrades women. I agree with the thread creator. If men were regularly paraded around video games in thongs and nipple pasties, with all the sexual aspects of their bodies made 3X as large as normal, while the female characters all had covering armor and more normalized builds, male players would throw a fit.
(edited by Weindrasi.3805)
The problem with your requests is that they are all opinion-based. They don’t affect the gameplay or game quality in any way. Some people prefer silly dancing animations over serious ones (Also, note that all humans share the same dance animation, regardless of gender). There are some people who hate the Sylvari running animation, and would much rather see them with the human one—so what do you do about that group? And if the characters didn’t make sleeping noises, it would take realism and detail away from the sleep emote.
Improving the game or gameplay would include things like fixing clipping issues or balancing professions.
she wasn’t feminist
So she believes that she is inferior to men?
Fem-i-nism: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.
lol
….Anywaaay… the character creation for Guild Wars 2 only allows you to make characters that fit Western beauty standards. AKA: Anorexic, frail-looking women with implants and men who wax & take steroids.
A woman who is taller then a man doesn’t look anorexic and frail enough to be “beautiful” by the narrow standards the GW2 devs are using for character creation. There are issues with both the female and male character models tbh… not just sexist issues, but ageism, weight discrimination, and poor anatomical proportioning as well
(edited by Weindrasi.3805)
PvP is.. eff… not appealing to me at all. It’s designed to be ultra competitive. For me, I log on to relax and have fun. Trying that hard to be competitive in PvP just doesn’t seem relaxing or fun.
WvW though, that’s a different story—it’s a lot of fun and easy to learn. The basic idea is that three gaming servers are competing against each other for land in large-scale warfare. In WvW, there are four maps. Three of the maps are owned by the three servers… each server has its own “home base” map. The fourth map is fair game, and contains a major landmark—Stonemist Castle—which is a valuable asset to the server that can control it.
In WvW, you’ll be capturing castles and fortresses from the other teams, interrupting supply lines to enemy headquarters, and so on. There are a ton of different things you can do to contribute to the war effort. You’ll learn fastest by joining other players. Look for a blue triangle on your WvW map—that’s a commander player. The commanders direct the rest of the players in what they should do, and usually have large groups following them.
Here are some common WvW terms:
Zerg: A large group of players
People usually type the initials of the enemy servers when talking, because it’s faster. Like, if a large group Borlis Pass players are attacking Stonemist Castle, someone might say “BP Zerg outside Stonemist”
Also, the names of certain fortresses or landmarks on the map might be abbreviated or shortened. “Danelon Passage”, for example, is often shortened to “Dane”. Once you get accustomed to the map, these are easy.
“10 BP @ Dane”=10 Borlis Pass players are attacking the Danelon Passage camp

I agree. All this cute crap is a waste of space. It’s kind of sickening. The game is being turned into a pre-teen paradise with hair dye, and pink backpacks, and panda hats, and on and on.
Some cute stuff is OK, but at this point it’s making the game look cheap and low-class. Arenanet should be working on things of actual significance, like new armor skins, new character creation options, clipping and bug fixes… stuff like that. Making 20 cutesy hats for your gem shop is such a waste
I agree wholeheartedly! I would make a norn woman in an instant if I could make her chubby.
My guardian was originally intended to be a fierce norn, but because they all looked so much like Barbie dolls, I changed her race.
Also, I bet some fool is going to come on this thread and say “Oh, but people who adventure wouldn’t be fat, they have to be fit hurp-durp”
Which is idiotic, because fat people CAN be very fit. Also, it’s more realistic to have a warrior with some chub, or a beer belly, or something—then one who is anorexic, one who has breast implants, or one with heavy makeup and perfect skin.
I’ve had enough of tail clipping, and floating shoulders on female charr, and horn clipping on helmets, and outfits that simply look stupid!
The charr get shafted visually on a regular basis. If you’re not willing to create clothing that accommodates a race, why would you include that race to begin with???
3 cheers for female Charr! Here another picture of one of Blood legion’s finest…
I give thee Silky Yarnballs from Underworld!
Both her design and her name are fantastic XD
Love your color choices on her!
That is absolutely not a male. I created a female charr with that face, and those horns.
Walk around town and listen to female charr speak—they have deep voices because they’re huge cat people. That charrs voice isn’t a “young male” voice, it’s a woman’s voice.
Also, look at the tail. If the tail is fluffy, it’s FOR SURE female. Looking at charr tails is the equivalent of looking in their pants…. lion tails are male, fluffy are female
Also, that isn’t even an NPC! That is a character that belongs to a player. If you look in the female charr thread, the player posted a picture of that female, stating that it’s their character
I have two female charr.
A blood legion warrior that supposedly should look like a tiger, and an ash legion thief who should look as close as possible to a Siamese cat (everyone knows Siamese cats are the swat, black ops, ninjas and spies of the animal kingdom).
They use the same armors with little variation and have many faces you wouldn’t see on males, so for many combinations you just have to make a female.
She belongs to Mithran.

I only run partial zerk, for wvw purposes, so I’m not the ideal person to give you instructions, but here you go.
You want to buy Ruby Orbs and attach them to all your armor pieces. They increase the power/precision/crit of each armor piece.
For trinkets, again, buy ruby items. Ruby necklace, ruby earrings…ect.
For sigils, you have a few options, and I don’t know what CoF runners prefer, but I use superior sigil of bloodlust on my weapons
For traits, you want to put most of your points into power and precision, the top two. There’s multiple ways to distribute them for slightly different effects, but I’m currently running 20/30/0/10/10
I wanted to play this face
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/62198/gw091.jpg
And he has a really cute voice too, I wanted it
Well, you can play that face actually, because that’s a chick XD
She’s using the tiger face—last option in character creation
LOL @ some people posting their sexy armor in the “practical armor” section.
I guess “practical” means something different to everyone, but I wonder what these people wear on a daily basis :P
(fyi, if you can get stabbed through your cleavage/muscular pec/belly/bum/leg hole, you’re probably not very practical haha)
Either way, cool armor sets you all!

I think you’ve gotten me hooked on this project, Frostfang. lol!
I agree—I love seeing other people’s charr art. I do hope arenanet pays attention to it, because there are so many ways to make a charr face. It’s a pity our current selection is so limited.
In terms of not coloring the faces, what you say is true—but to be honest, I just avoid coloring because I’m lazy XD
This face is how I would have designed my main, if I’d been able to. The closest thing to it is the female tiger face—but mine has a longer snout, different brow, big back teeth & so-on.
Here’s a challenge for you: If you could redesign your charr character (or, if you don’t have one, a charr character in-game), what would s/he look like?
Here are mine. I designed the female first, based off the Scottish wildcat. To make the male, I exaggerated the female’s features to make them masculine.
I made a female charr, but I can say with certainty that I do not like the voice of the PC female charr. It doesn’t sound like she fits the role too well.
I agree. Like the user below you said, it would fit some PC looks and personalities, but for mine at least—it’s far too smooth and cultured.
She looks awesome! I’ll start on a face sketch and post it in the next day or two
Aaaaand here I am, back to the Cantha thread. Posted a couple times already…
At any rate, if any NCsoft executives are reading this…. STOP BEING LAME! This is the largest thread on the forums, the vast majority of which is screaming for Cantha to return. You’d be foolish to sack Cantha in the face of all these supporters. They’re just BEGGING to give you money.
I’LL GIVE YOU MY MONEY FOR CANTHA!!!
Well first, that concept art isn’t fireheart rise, regardless of what that text may say. It’s Ascalon City burning in the Searing—an event which happened over 250 years in Guild Wars’s past.
Second, unless the concept art is specifically to show an armor set, chances are the armor shown won’t be in-game.
This thread is for those of you who prefer a more practical, “modest” look for your female (or male) characters. The goal is not to argue the merits of “skimpy” armor versus “covering” armor, so please avoid debate!
At any rate, it can be a challenge to find practical/covering gear for female characters—and it often forces players to be creative! So, if you’ve found a cool-looking practical armor set, post it here! (100% body coverage isn’t needed—just something fairly realistic)
I’ve had a fair amount of people come forwards to say my character looks quite unique due to my choice of tattoo and necro face paint. The armour is mostly mix’n’match but my intention was to give her an overall shamanistic/tribal look.
She looks great!
This is my character. I don’t see the goth face very often, and when I do it’s always for a necromancer. Mine is a guardian—based off of the Kurzick ethnic group from Guild Wars 1
Few people play female char, cause they are too ugly I think…
You’ll have to explain this better XD
The male charr could be described as “ugly” (though I quite like them) with teeth all over the place and such, but the majority of the female charr were designed to look like real life wildcats—which are quite beautiful.
