As a newbie, how do I get into fractals?

Fractals of the Mists look interesting, but since they first released I have always been too intimidated to try them. I don’t even know where to begin.
I’m not willing to grind or craft for a perfect set of ascended gear—will I ever be able to do Fractals without it? Or do all Fractals groups require super specific gear on each player?
In terms of combat itself—learning boss mechanics, dodging, ect, I have no problem. But I despise having to pay close attention to every specific and stat of my gear; or having to pay a large sum of gold to get the right gear to participate. Advise?

Well there isn’t a God of the Cosmos. The only recognized “Gods” in game are the Human Gods. This wouldn’t work because Charr look down on God-worship, and are especially disdainful of Human Gods. The other races, Charr included, view Human Gods as beings who became powerful, but who aren’t really divine or worthy of worship.

So, perhaps your charr could find a powerful celestial artifact or armor that imbues him with magic.

Or, perhaps he was captured and experimented on by the Inquest asura—they could have been studying cosmic power and its effect on people—and the experiments turned his flesh into living magic or something

Maybe he sought out and was blessed (or cursed) by the ancient Druids of the Maguuma Jungle. They’re not Gods, but they are very powerful nature spirits.

Maybe he is a scholar/researcher who has learned a new way to channel his magic, which other people haven’t discovered.

As for names… maybe Arcius Moonbrow? or Aceius Starpelt?

Story missions too unfair for solo players

My dad has this problem. He did all right through the personal story of the core game, but he has really struggled since the Heart of Thorns expansion. A lot of the missions, he can’t do without help. He’s in his 60’s, and, other than GW2, all his games are click-to-move games like Diablo 2, Age of Empires, ect. He used click-to-move in GW1 as well.
GW2 is his first WASD movement game, and he struggles to use the keys and mouse to maneuver his character to strafe and dodge around enemies. He’s played the game fairly actively since launch, and while he has improved a lot, he’s never going to have the ease a lot of other players do with maneuvering.
I think there are some players out there like my dad, who struggle this way. Perhaps it would be an option to add an “Easy Mode” option to story instances. For those players who just can’t do it on “Normal Mode”, and who can’t get or don’t want a party, it would be helpful.

If she was a super duper ranger then she would have never used a short bow
(As you stated she is a woman so she actually couldn’t have a bow long or short.) Let’s be honest here, this has nothing to do with the lore, it has everything to do with making one of the worst weapons in the game relevant. So far it’s a fail. “-Kalla was a slave woman who trained other slave women to fight with what they had on hand. It is specifically stated in lore that women at the time weren’t allowed to have weapons for war. Which means no pistols on hand.” This should probably be crude spears, hammers, clubs and rocks as they probably wouldnt have crafted a bow and arrow set(this would be considered a weapon of war). I guess we should have gotten a spear and become paragons(does fit the expansion) instead of broken ritualist.

True, but a bow is easier to make from crude materials on hand then a pistol. Additionally, bows were used for hunting. If women were allowed to hunt, perhaps they were allowed small bows (shortbows) to use on small game—bows that wouldn’t be considered a “War bow.” But that goes into speculation.
It may be so that the primary motivation of using shortbow as Kalla’s weapon was to increase its use in game. However, there are enough lore connections to make shortbow viable.
Kalla obviously wasn’t a Ranger, but with her heritage it isn’t unreasonable to assume she’d have natural talent with bows. And a short-range bow is more viable for the close-quarters fighting a Warrior would do.
At any rate, there are enough unknowns in Kalla’s lore that Arenanet could very easily fill in details to make shortbows fit. For that reason primarily, I don’t take an issue with it. Now, if Kalla’s lore stated that she was a near-sighted greatsword-wielder who scorned ranged combat… then I would take issue with it. But, again, the unknowns leave a lot of wiggle room.

This message board has put more thought into this build than the team who created it did. I mean Char are more mechanical…so pistol over a bow…the list of why just goes on and on.

Did pistols even exist in Kalla’s time? It was roughly 200 years ago—a few decades after events in Eye of the North. In GW1, pistols didn’t exist. Kalla’s grandfather and great grandfather used bows. The ranged charr enemies you face all use bows. The charr technology boom didn’t happen until AFTER Kalla’s rebellion ousted the Flame Legion.

Even if pistols DID exist during Kalla’s time…

-It would be new technology, invented by the Iron Legion.

-The Iron Legion was subservient to the Flame Legion. The Flame Legion would probably turn their noses up at new pistols in favor of good old fire magic projectiles.

-Kalla was a Blood Legion warrior, from a bloodline of rangers. That means melee weapons and bows, plus a cultural disdain of Iron Legion/Ash Legion methods.

-Kalla was a slave woman who trained other slave women to fight with what they had on hand. It is specifically stated in lore that women at the time weren’t allowed to have weapons for war. Which means no pistols on hand.

Modern charr are so “mechanical” because the charr territories we have access to are Iron-Legion owned, and Iron is the technology-oriented Legion.

So, no. A pistol would be VERY out of place as the weapon for the Kalla legend.

…..As to the original post, I agree with some of the other replies. “Fervor” is not a religious word. It means to have great passion for something. That can be a passion for God, or a passion for freeing slaves, or a passion for… I don’t know… cookie dough ice cream. Personally, I’m pretty fervent about that last one.
Just because the OP has probably heard “Fervor” used in a religious context, more than in other contexts… that doesn’t mean the word is tied to religious meaning.

As for Orders From Above, consider this. Kalla earned equal rights for her women rebels in Blood, Iron, and Ash Legion BEFORE the final battle against Flame. Those women would have been integrated into the charr armies as soldiers. Like any other soldiers, they would have taken orders from superior officers. Once they gained equality, Kalla and her rebels would have been given “Orders from Above” by the charr leading the armies.

Personally, I think Kalla’s skill names are fitting.

DEMO: non-human first contact reactions?

in Lore

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

I wondered this myself. My conclusion on looking around the demo city is this: the humans there are used to other intelligent species. There were a number of local Ogres and Skritt at the bar. Also, most of Elona is ruled by Joko’s undead followers. The undead vendor in the city looked pretty horrific, with blood and rot dripping off its naked body—and while the humans who oppose Joko’s rule don’t like him being there, they’re used to that kind of thing. Based on the armies of Joko in GW1, there are undead of multiple races within it.
Even if the Elonian humans have never seen a charr, sylvari, asura, or norn—they’re used to interacting with all sorts of odd-looking species. Thus, they are bound to react less, and get used to new species more easily, then—say—a human who has lived with nothing but humans, like us in real life.

Just looking at that charr on the raptor—without seeing a human on the raptor—it looks fine. It isn’t so large that the raptor couldn’t realistically carry it. The rabbit mount though… that might look weird with charr. We will have to see.
Go ahead and make your charr character. If you’re worried about sizing issues, make the charr short and slender.

My Charrs’ warbands are made up of alts.
My first character is a charr named Nyoka Gorefell. She is a Blood Legion warrior and leads the Gore warband. Alts from her warband all have “Gore” in their surname (Thorn Gorecrow, Sezra Gorescourge, ect…)
The Gore Warband is my cast of evil characters—Nyoka aims to become the next Blood Legion Imperator. Gore Warband is made up of renegade sympathizers, murderers, and power mongers. Nyoka herself is a sociopath.

My “good guy” charr are a band of gladium—and those who grew up outside Ascalon entirely. They don’t have a leader, and they don’t share surnames. Albane Memorykeeper is my main “good” charr. After losing her first warband and deserting her second (which was Gore warband), she became disillusioned with the charr ‘system’ and escaped Ascalon with another deserter named Myas.

Last is Dalgarn Flameveiled, a Godforged Flame Legion Shaman.

My full roster of charr characters includes…
Nyoka Gorefell
Thorn Gorecrow
Tionvrath Gorefall
Sezra Gorescourge
Slither Gorevomit
Nazza Goremonger
Slur Goregristle

and the non-gores…

Are Charrs Sexist?

in Lore

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

For whatever reason—perhaps Flame Legion had issues with sexism even then—it was primarily females who rebelled against Flame Legion efforts to rule charr society.

As far as I’m aware, that’s not true. Or at least, there’s no source indicating it. The impression I got, from Ember’s account in Ghosts of Ascalon and from The Ecology of the Charr, is that the new Shaman caste needed a way to discredit Bathea- to make it seem like she rebelled for clearly misguided reasons, so that no one would wonder if she might have actually had a point,a and that the solution they picked was that she was “using her sexuality to tempt the males from the true path of the gods,” which was a suspicion that then spread to female charr as a whole.

And yet, in a society where men and women are seen as unquestionably equal—in a society where sexism does not already exist in some capacity—this “solution” would never work. For the men of a society to view women as “sexual temptresses”—or to accept the story that all women are such based on the actions of one woman—that requires that the men have been exposed to some sexist ideology already.
The Shaman Caste’s method to discredit Balthea would not have worked in a perfectly egalitarian society. So that brings up the question—where was the discrepancy?

I remember a source somewhere stating that Balthea’s rebellion was primarily composed of females. I don’t know if it was an interview, the wiki, or lore in-game… I would honestly like to locate it again. But, the fact that primarily females were willing to rebel against Flame’s bid for power, that also leads to the question: why? What would motivate ancient women to dislike Flame, even before Flame discredited Balthea?

And thus, my theory is that, A) Ancient charr society had some form of sexism, and B ) It was likely associated with Flame Legion somehow, since women were so willing to resist the Flame bid for power.

Are Charrs Sexist?

in Lore

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

In ancient times, charr lived in Ascalon before humans. When humans came to the continent, they made war with the charr.
Humans had magic, and charr did not. Because of that, humans were winning the war. In desperation, charr of the ancient Flame Legion sought magic of their own—and long story short—found it.
Flame Legion started using the new magic, not only to fight humans, but to try and dominate their own society. For whatever reason—perhaps Flame Legion had issues with sexism even then—it was primarily females who rebelled against Flame Legion efforts to rule charr society.
This rebellion was led by Balthea Havocbringer—an ancient Blood Legion warrior. She was captured by Flame Legion and killed. After her rebellion was defeated, the Flame Legion enslaved women and made it law that women could not use weapons or hold power. They said that women were not trustworthy, and used Balthea’s rebellion as an example.
Thus, women in charr society were oppressed for hundreds of years. In Guild Wars 1, a charr named Pyre Fierceshot realized the Flame Legion gods were false, and started a new rebellion against Flame. However, even among the rebels, women were still slaves.
This changed when Pyre’s granddaughter, Kalla Scorchrazor, started to train women to fight in secret. She raised an army of women, and convinced the rebels to allow women equal status on the battlefield, by defeating one of their major leaders in hand to hand combat.
The rebellion was able to defeat Flame Legion because their numbers were greatly increased by female troops. As a result, women in Blood, Iron, and Ash Legion gained equal status with men. Today—200 years or so later—Blood, Iron, and Ash Legion make up the bulk of charr society—and thus, charr women in mainstream society have equal status.
However, Flame Legion still exists. It doesn’t control the other Legions any more, but it still holds to ancient cultural norms. Women in Flame Legion are slaves. Flame Legion tries to convert men from the other Legions to their beliefs, and will take female troops as prisoners of war—for breeding and slave labor.

Crossdressing

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

I like this idea, but I think it would take a lot to implement. My concern would be clipping issues on all the cross-gender stuff. Although there has been improvement, consider all the clipping issues with the charr. Applying something made to stretch on a human frame, to a charr frame, creates issues. I would predict similar issues with stretching a female dress to a male body, and vise versa… especially when you consider the proportions of male norn.
Something that I would appreciate, which would be easier to implement, is undershirts for characters.
In World of Warcraft, you can put an undershirt beneath your armor. This is useful if, for instance, you like the design of a female armor that is skimpy—but would prefer a more modest variant. The undershirt has no armor value, and is there simply to cover exposed skin, or to add additional color, to a given armor set.
In addition to this, Arenanet could also focus on creating new armors to give us options where options are lacking. For instance, more pants for light armor class (especially females), more non-trenchcoat options for medium armor class, ect. They could even design armors or outfits that bend gender roles—a “dress” that is made to fit male characters in the first place for instance.

Dishonor and loss for a disconnect.

Charr Tails in Ghostly Outfit

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

My guess is that the tail was replaced to make a black tail the same way that the legs on the Lich costume are replaced with those hoved legs. The difference, as far as I can tell, is that the Lich outfit has a male and female version. This outfit however only has a male version (it removes female breasts too). So your female Charr has a male tail. So for them to give your
female Charr a female tail they’d have to make a female version of the outfit. Which I don’t expect them to do now that it’s finished and sold.

Not so. There are other outfits that use the same model for male charr and female
charr, but the female charr still have the female tail.
Balthazar’s Regalia Outfit and Sentinel Outfit both alter the charr’s tail—but males have
male tails and females have female tails

Or it means they didn’t remove the tail in your two examples but that they left the
tail in place but changed how the the tail is colored when dyeing the armor
. In this case, if you notice, the tail is both changed in color to match the head (and hands) and not affected by dyeing the armor, so the specifics of it are different.

Not true. You can change the color of the flames in Sentinel Armor—which I didn’t
post a screenshot of originally. The charr tale is dye-able.
Edited: Here is a screenshot. See? Dyed female tail.

Please re-read what I wrote. I said that the tails were not removed in your two examples (the Sentinel and Balthazar armors.) They made them affected by the armor dyes but otherwise left them in place.

Where I said “in this case, if you notice, the tail is both changed in color to match the heads (and hands) and not affected by dyeing the armor so the specifics of it are different” I was referring to the Ghostly outfit.

Edit: so what it looks like, in order for the tail to be black the tail was removed and a standard black charr tail was added to the charr outfit. And since only a male outfit was made there is only a male charr tail for both sexes.

Hmm. Could be. I have no idea how the outfits are made. Nonetheless, I certainly wish this outfit reflected the gendered charr tails.

GW2 should have been human only.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Weindrasi.3805

I absolutely disagree, and I think the complaints about cosmetic issues on charr and other races are overrated.
I have 17 charr. Each one is dressed differently. Not a single one has serious clipping issues (and many have no clipping at all), and they all look very good. Light, Medium, and Heavy armor alike.
Sure there are a number of pieces with clipping issues in the game. I suppose the biggest complaint is that a lot of the shoulder pads and helms don’t look good, but I have honestly found that easy to work around.
Additionally, GW2 is improving in this area. Whereas they used to release armors and outfits that did not incorporate charr tails, most of the recent releases do incorporate tails.

The bland, neutral personal story is the product of sub-par writing—not a result of having multiple races.

Newcomer here, WoW veteran, need some tips.

in Players Helping Players

Weindrasi.3805

Hey guys, as title says, i’m a newbie in GW, but played many years of WoW.
I’m having a lot of fun and enjoying everything so far, but i didn’t had the chance to try some stuff yet.
I want to know how dungeons/fractals/raids are and how they work here.
Like, how do i access them and how difficult they are compared to WoW? do i need to have a group of fully experienced players with TeamSpeak/Raid call to run a raid, or i can casually join a pug raid as long as i know what to do?
Any tips are welcome, i want to know everything about them.

And another newbie question about the endgame gear.
Can i get the level 80 good stuff by crafting/farming by myself, or do i have to drop them from raids and world bosses?

I’m in the opposite boat. I’m a Guild Wars veteran from when Guild Wars 1 was new. Recently, a friend got me involved in WoW—I’m still fairly new to that. It’s really interesting to compare it to what I know in GW2.

Dungeons are very similar. You unlock them as you reach higher levels and you can queue for them in the GW2 equivalent of “group finder.” The one difference (and they may have changed this in a recent update, IDK) is that you have to actually be on the map where the dungeon is at, to enter the dungeon. However, since you can instantly teleport anyplace you have been in GW2, this isn’t hard.
In terms of difficulty, I’d say dungeons in GW2 and WoW are about the same. If you have a party that knows what it’s doing, you can breeze through a dungeon really fast. If people don’t know what to do, there can be some hiccups.
In GW2, you are more responsible for keeping yourself alive though. since there isn’t a dedicated healer.

I can’t help you on fractals and raids—I haven’t participated in them.

You can get top tier level 80 gear by crafting or farming by yourself.
Level 80 exotic gear is easy to get—you can buy it all on the trading post or in WvW. Level 80 exotic used to be top tier, but then they added the Ascended tier, which you can only get through crafting, super rare world drops, or as certain achievement rewards.
I suggest buying sets of level 80 exotic gear to start. You do not need ascended gear to play the game content. Level 80 exotics will more than suffice on a max-level character, until you manage to get a full ascended set.

Some other differences I’ve noticed…
Guild Wars 2 has a “Personal Story” starting when you hit level 10, which resembles a story-line in a single player RPG—you are the main character.
The personal story gives you more focus in a single direction as you level your character, and it makes you feel like THE main character in GW2’s world. The downside to this is, since much of the storytelling in the game is directed towards the Personal Story, the individual stories and characters you see as you do quests around the world aren’t as in-depth and interesting as WoW’s.

GW2 travel is much faster and much more convenient, since you can travel instantly to any place you’ve been before.
The downside to this is, it makes the world of GW2 feel much smaller and more disjointed. Since WoW makes you travel more slowly, flying across terrain to go places, WoW feels bigger and more cohesive as a world.

GW2 combat is harder to master, but feels more real. You do not want to just stand in one place and spam your character’s attack skills—you need to move around and dodge as you fight.

Things cost less gold in GW2, but gold is harder to get.

Human: Guardian (lore wise, humans created this profession), Mesmer (very much a part of their society and culture)… but honestly, a human could fit any profession too.

Charr are attractive

in Lore

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

I do hope you are kidding in your second paragraph.
Suffice to say, there are examples of charr romance. The thing is, said romances must be in context with charr culture. You simply won’t find a charr romance that resembles your typical human love story.
One example in-game is the relationship between Galina Edgecrusher and Snarl Backdraft. They come from different legions and initially regard one another with disdain. As they work together, they come to respect each others’ talents, and they ultimately become mates.
The issue is that charr culture itself has no concept of marriage. Some charr take a mate, but mates are rarely permanent. Warfare and cultural preference means a couple rarely stays together for long. Some do, of course, but that is a personal decision. It is not recognized in any way by the government.
Most charr just have casual sex here and there, and the resulting kids are sent away for military training very young.

It always baffles me when someone says “male characters get the short end of the stick!”
To me, much of the feminine armor is very distasteful. It focuses on exposing skin, breasts and hips. That isn’t feminine, it’s just sexual.
Why can’t we have femininity without it also being sexual?
For me, feminizing something and sexualizing it are two different things entirely… feminizing is fine, sexualizing is degrading.
At least, it’s degrading when most of the male armors cover everything up, while the female armors are designed around breasts and sex.
Is it really so hard to create feminine, but respectful armors for girls, interesting armor for males, and suitable armor for nonhumans? Apparently it’s nigh impossible.

To manipulate a human (or sylvari, charr, ect.) mind, you have to be able to comprehend and communicate with that mind. Zhaitan used fear tactics, but Zhaitan did not have the intimate mental connections and abilities that Mordremoth did—Zhaitan’s abilities lie in other areas.
I expect that each elder dragon will have unique personality and communication traits, depending on its specific abilities. If I had to guess, I’d say Jormag will be fairly chatty. Based on Glint, who had mind powers, Kralky may be fairly chatty too—but he could also be more in line with Zhaitan. Primord will probably be like Zhaitan… maybe even less communicative. And Bubbles, who knows?

Prediction:
Most Chatty-Mordy>Jormag>Kralk>Zhaitan>Primord—Least Chatty

Why do people like Foefire so much?

I have come to detest foefire because it’s so overplayed. I groan internally whenever it gets picked. Just, yuck. The other three ranked maps are fine.
Frankly though, my favorite maps are unranked—I love Skyhammer and Spiritwatch. Unless I’m trying out a new build, pure skill maps are boring to me. I like the elements of chance, luck, and unstable terrain thrown in. Much more interesting.

Mordremoth fight is still buggy

Heh. I did this fight yesterday and the bug actually made it easier. I had Braham as one of my companions. In the Eir fight, when I killed Garm and she came over to resurrect him, she got jammed on some crack in the floor and just stood there helplessly while I attacked her. Other than that, no bugs.

Female Outfits more accurate than male

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Weindrasi.3805

Yeah because armor with the breasts flopping out and hips flashing is totally accurate and protective.
And supermodels with tiny waists, perfect makeup, and triple-d balloon chests… those are totally accurate representations of soldiers.
It’s just not fair, those silly females! They get treated with respect! Being a man is just awful :,(

Nevermore Shaman Problem

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Weindrasi.3805

Weindrasi.3805

So I was minding my own business, doing map completion and events. I come to a Svanir “kill the shaman” event. Pretty typical. I kill it. Seems like any other Svanir event. But then I realize, after event completion, that my whisper bar has exploded with abuse—people screaming and swearing at me, reporting me, and spamming me. I sit there for a minute, trying to make sense of what in the world is happening—has a band of internet trolls decided to come after me?
In the midst of the abuse, one person politely explained to me that the Shaman needs to survive for people to get the legendary weapon Nevermore. Oops.
And here we have the issue. I wasn’t bothering anyone. I wasn’t trying to ruin somebody’s game. I just had no idea. And for my mistake, I get reported by multiple people, screamed at, and harassed. This is a problem. It should not be possible for event-goers and map explorers to inadvertently ruin someone’s legendary quest. And legendary-seekers should not be able to get away with mass-reporting and bullying the person who makes this mistake.

Why Would Anyone Buy Black Lion Keys?

Once I bought a single black lion key with my last 10 or so gold, and got a permanent hair style contract. Instant 1,800g. That is why.

I agree, Lunatic Inquisition is my favorite Halloween activity. I look forward to it ABOVE ALL ELSE.
I’m horribly disappointed by this. Bring it back, Anet!

I need some sexy armor for Charrs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Weindrasi.3805

I agree in wanting more armors that show off charr fur patterns. That said, I think “sexy” is the wrong term to use in describing what you want. It brings to mind images of charr with breasts and thongs XD
But yes, it is a shame that, when fur patterns and colors are so numerous, there aren’t many armor options to showcase pelt designs.

Whenever I get a skill/hero point, my game crashes and I get an error message. It makes map completion near-impossible because I crash for every hero point.

Greatsword Female Char is a guy?

It’s a 9 foot tall war animal with demon horns.
What would be disturbing, is if it DIDN’T have a deep voice.
The female voice is still significantly less deep than the male.

But the real question is: Why do people who find this game tiring and boring, play it?

Keep your politics out of the game please

If a belief in God is your concern, go out and serve God. Complaining about an NPC conversation on a video game forum doesn’t help God or you. Go to church, volunteer at a homeless shelter, mow someone’s lawn…
It’s not about politics. LBGT is an increasingly open and accepted part of society, and media is going to reflect that. Children are going to grow up with that as normal. If you’re opposed to the direction society is going because of a belief in God, than the only logical solution is to serve God to make society better.
So, again—go to church, volunteer at a homeless shelter, mow someone’s lawn. You’ll change the world by helping people. On the other hand, insisting that people suppress themselves in order to show you respect, isn’t going to help anything.

This would be wonderful.
I loved Scarlet, and I miss her.
This would be a way to bring her back for me.

I spared Scarlet's life.

I agree.
From the characters’ perspective, it was more than just logical to kill her—it was unquestionable. She was a mass murderer after all.
But as the player, I liked her. More than liked her. I adored her with Taimi-like intensity. She was, and is, one of my favorite villains ever.
She was nuts, the alliances she formed were nuts, the story behind her was nuts, and I loved every moment of it. Scarlet and Halloween are the most fun I’ve ever had with Guild Wars 2.
Killing Scarlet meant leaving behind the fun I had during Season 1. At least I still have Halloween. All hail Mad King Thorn!

A few months back, I commissioned the artist Azure and Copper for a custom Scarlet Briar doll. She came in the mail today Just thought I’d share some pictures (pictures are taken by Azure. Scarlet doll is mine, other Sylvari is not)
I definitely recommend Azure and Copper if you’re in the market for custom character figures. What drew me to Azure initially was the Sylvari doll she finished for another customer.

Issues with character art, weapons, or armor?

The monk outfit has some bad problems with clipping on both female humans and female norn.
Whenever I emote or draw a weapon with my female human, her legs clip through the dress.
My female norn is even worse. Her legs clip through the dress even when she is just standing idle.
Please fix.

You guys are disappointed the charr get the male version? Seriously?
The last two dresses they stuffed female charr in were TERRIBLE.
Dresses, heels, and petticoats just don’t suit Cat Monsters. And now you want them in this monk miniskirt?
I would be okay with gendered charr armor, if it actually looked cool. But it’s like putting an alligator in a tutu, or a lion in a bra. It looks ridiculous.

Suffice to say, I like the monk outfit a LOT. Mostly because it looks GREAT on charr, female and male both—it fits their bodies well, and has no tail clipping.
