Why is it that all of it looks terrible. All of it, 100% of it.
Well that’s just like, you know, your opinion man.

The damage issue its both direct damage and condi damage and its more about some refinment to the +30% stat change in the gear.
Well the reason gear has more stats is because traits no longer give you stats. I think you still have about the same amount of stats in total.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Except, nothing makes sense.
That’s what happens when you skip LS season 1 and most of season 2 and go straight to the 8th chapter of season 2 lol
~Sincerely, Scissors
Hold on, we will get a balance patch soon.
Patience.I’ll just leave this here:
Personally I love the update.
Its not like the entire game its broken, good refinment its needed and thats it, and it will make a very big change just with it ^^
Some small balance fixes here and there will be fine.
But conditions will stay powerful. After being beyond useless for almost 3 years in PvE they should be

no, this will not only hit AFKers, but also casual players. I think it shows a very elitistic mindset to add even more difficulty to the game. It is almost unbearably hard as it is in PvE.
Wut..
What exactly is so incredibely hard about walking up to an armor repair merchant, press the repair button and get FREE repairs?
I repair my armor as soons as there is even a dent lol. I never even have all of my armor damaged, let alone all of it broken.

When a lvl 80 player with lvl 80 exotic/ascended gear is weaker than a lvl 20 player in a low level zone, there is a problem.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Do the orders of Tyria still have bases in the city? I found a small Durmand Priory camp but no Vigil soldiers or secret Order of Whispers base.
That being said, I haven’t found an entrance to the sewer system either. Considering it’s located underground, it should still be there.
~Sincerely, Scissors
To make conditions not useful?
Conditions were always useful and every build was always useful.
Maybe in PvP, but in PvE there were always beyond useless. What was the point of having 5+ condimancers attacking a boss when there is a cap of 25…
~Sincerely, Scissors
Aaand this is why we had a condi cap, lol…
To make conditions not useful?
~Sincerely, Scissors
I don’t think conditions are too powerful
Well one thing I do know is that after being completely and utterly useless in PvE for almost 3 years the last thing they need is a nerf now that they are FINALLY powerful.
Luckily Jon already confirmed that whatever balance change comes, it won’t be huge. So even if they are nerfed, they won’t be nerfed a lot.
This is why PvE and PvP should always have been seperated, balance wise. Because some things that work well in pvp are kitten in pve, and vice versa. If you are going to simply apply the same balance changes to both of them, you will always end up with one of the two broken.
~Sincerely, Scissors
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Don’t expect huge balance swings
Thank god!
Because I’m so happy conditions are FINALLY powerful.
Last thing I need is conditions being nerfed into oblivion once again.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I never understood why some people can enjoy something only when others can’t have it.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Yes but can’t you get higher precision now because of the increase in stats and the way specializations work?
That’s what I’m thinking
~Sincerely, Scissors
A quick update on this one -> After feedback from presenting the original hero point count – we decided getting to level 80 will give you enough hero points to unlock all the core skills and traits entirely. Doing hero challenges (aka skill challenges) will simply allow you to earn all the skills/traits earlier before level 80. With the release of HoT, there will be options to spend the excess hero points earned from doing hero challenges in the world.
There are a number of other changes on 6/23 to make the experience from 1-80 more exciting, better-paced, rewarding, and fun as well after having the time to evaluate and player feedback from the updates last year.

We are asking for the same thing new players get. HoT + a copy of the core game.
Which, as I’ve said before, does have value even if you already own the game.Equal treatment. Fairness. That’s what I ask for.
…. honestly: you can get the same: A BRAND NEW Acc including Base Game AND Expansion…
THAT is exactly what newcomers get xD
You want: The Expansion for your existing Account AND and additional new Account with just GW2 Base Game.
That’s is different.
If you want a similar Value, a similar promotional gift as newcomers get… well that I would understand. That would really be nice, I wouldn’t complain.
alas… most promotional things even those which don’t have a time limit don’t let you choose what you want as a gift/gift possibility
That’s not really different. They get the base game + hot on top of it. We get the base game seperately. Which can be given away to a friend, used as a mule or something else. Perfectly reasonable.
It is different: Newcomer gets one account, you would have two at the end ^^
But still you want the same value and as Accounts theirself hold no direct value, I can understand that you would like similar value.
Though you still do not want the exact same, that’s all. Nothing wrong with that I think. That is valid opinion and why not try to get it with saying that out loud?
I never reprimanded that you want same value… I just say that you used the wrong words here, as you can get the exact same: New Acc/New GW2/New HOT
though for us it is of lesser value, there is nothing to argue about that. You are right and I think it is ok to ask/say: for that money I want something of equal value as everyone, not the same, but same value, like and additional GW2 base Acc, or something else.
Nothing wrong there. Honestly, just pointing out the ‘wrong’ use of words.
Fair enough

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Windu The Forbidden One.6045
To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.
But that’s the problem. New players pay 50 bucks and get a copy of the core game + HoT.
Veterans pay the same price, only get HoT. That is the problem.
Just because we already own it doesn’t mean a copy of the core game has no value. I can give it to a friend, use it as a mule account, get daily rewards on it. We can benefit greatly from another copy.

But lets see, special treatment. Theres another word for it.
yes, it’s discrimination
Reading comprehention. Im not saying that there is another word for special treatment or entitlement, im saying special treatment is another word for entitlement.
Buy a dictionary.
Ive already posted the definition, maybe you should look it up.
Why should I look it up for you, can’t you read a dictionary yourself?
the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
“no wonder your kids have a sense of entitlement”There… just so you know what we are talking about here. Thats right out of the dictionary as well.
Except that we are not believing we inherently deserve any special treatment, we just want the same as new players for 50 bucks. A copy of the core game + hot.
You have the core game already. Would you be happy if they just let you create as many accounts as you wanted and play to 80?
Just because we already own the game doesn’t mean another copy has no value. I can give it to a friend, use it as a mule account, use it to get extra daily rewards. There is plenty we can do with it. Your “you already have the game” argument is invalid.

If i buy street fighter IV and they say street fighter 3 free with purchase.
then i dont want them to take away the street fighter 3 just because i already bought it 3 years ago.
a free copy of gw2 core has value, i can give it away, i can use it as a mule account, i can get more daily limited resources. There is no logical reason, if it is really free with purchase, that older players do not get a code.
but they dont, because the package treats customers differently but charges them the same thing.
So its really not veteran entitlement, its veterans not wanting to be screwed just because they are veterans

The entitlement meme will stop when people stop whining about how they are entitled to more than they are.
As a player, you are entitled to get exactly what you paid for. If you paid for the core game, you are entitled to the core game. If you paid for gems and bought things with those gems, you are entitled to the things that you bought with those gems. If you buy the HoT base kit at $50, you are entitled to the things listed in that base kit.
Nothing more.
If you are whining about how ANet has “betrayed” you or “owes” you anything, then that is entitlement, and if you don’t like being called out on that, then stop being that.
Funny how a complaint always equates to whining as long as you are not part of the disatisfied party yourself. Another problem on this forum.

I’ve been doing so for months, and that’s where I got aaaaaaaaaall my information.
There’s a communication problem here on Arenanet’s end. I’d love it if they’d put All That Stuff I Mentioned into a single rap sheet of features that we can easily browse, but instead you gotta sift through months of news and videos.
and yet not a single link proving anything.

It’s already been attacked once (by Scarlet). So is LA and the Grove.
So if a city is going to be attacked it should either be Hoelbrak, The Black Citadel or Rata Sum.
Please let it be the Black Citadel. The Charr don’t mess around when it comes to war, their city is an amazing fortress. The battle will be epic!

Just want to clarify since I saw this come up a couple of times in this thread and we haven’t actually released our full official patch notes for 6/23 yet….
Ascended Gear will be staying 5% better than Exotic Gear. Gear beyond the tiers we already have are not going to be added and our existing tiers won’t change, they won’t be our main end-game form of progression for your characters/account for all the reasons we’ve covered before – it isn’t what we think Gw2 is about.
Masteries is being added to PvE to help provide this system as our form of progression for PvE moving forward, and the WvW ability system exists for WvW and will be what we use to expand WvW in the future.
To more directly answer some of your point….We are adding a system that lets you change the stats for your ascended gear (weapons and armor) next Tuesday – which will cost a combination of 10 spirit shards, piece you don’t want anymore, 5 ectos, and an exotic insignia of the stats you want to convert to. Legendary Gear will remain the gear that can freely change stats any time.

You clearly need to look at that lore more closely. Ascalon was built by humans ON CHARR LAND.
No it was not. It belonged to the Grawl (and possibly dwarves too), then Charr stole it from them. The Charr like pointing fingers at humans for conquering ‘their’ land while they themselves are guilty of the very same thing.
