Racial storytelling is GOOD, Collin.
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Was he talking about the first Personal Missions (until lvl 30)? Those are the best story missions in the entire game! A branching story is good otherwise it gets repetitive and boring. Come on Colin that’s like storytelling 101.

I don’t think Scarlet, who we all know is a mary sue, is a good example. I mean she succesfully managed to become an expert in every field in just a few years. Yeah right..
It would be like someone in our society studying at 10 universities at once and majoring in all the courses they have to offer in just a few years. Unless you’re an android or god that isn’t happening.

Putting a cap on my wealth? No thanks…

I doubt it, the longer they wait the more damage a rollback will do.
At this point a rollback could do more harm than good.

The issue is not that they are child-like. It’s that they are not human-like. They don’t have large bags of fat on their chest, so they don’t wear clothes and armor designed to cup said large bags of fat on the chest for the same reason males don’t.
The cups on the chest is not the only difference between male and female armor you know.

A charr Tribune had no trouble trusting Glint if it meant taking out a dragon
That was because of Glint’s reputation.

I hope each and every one of you have to one day live while crippled … this is unacceptable.
There it is folks! The mask slips!
Unless both of them are trolls working together. In which case, bravo!
Get over yourself. You might stand idly by while someone with a disability is grossly mistreated and abused in a public forum, but I won’t. This isn’t a kittening joke, you idiot.
I think we have our answer Nevets Crimsonwing, we can walk away satisfied
~Sincerely, Scissors
I’m appalled at how insensitive you people are. OP said they had a minor panic attack over this, and you’re all brushing it off like it’s nothing. Shame on all of you! This is not how you talk to people with disabilities! I hope each and every one of you have to one day live while crippled by something outside of your control. Maybe then you’ll understand why this is unacceptable.
People are just blown away someone had a panic attack over something so incomprehensibly insignificant. You say the problem is people being insensitive, I say the problem is people being hypersensitive.
The PROBLEM is people like YOU not understanding that disabilities are REAL and you can’t just blow them off because YOU’RE not affected by them!
The PROBLEM is people like YOU making huge problems out of nothing.

She is killing things in the game. What did you expect he to say?
You cant compare her to real life. do you kill people in real life? didnt think so.
^This. Cutting someone to pieces with a greatsword is fine but calling someone dumb is a problem apparantly lmao.

Well at least it prevents people who haven’t even played gw1 to get the hom skins.

This bug seems to work for everyone but me, weird.
Good, you should never try to reproduce something that has been reported as a bug, because that makes you an ‘exploiter’, and anet takes a dim view on that sort of behavior.
No good can ever come of this, it will either be fixed, or accounts will be suspended/banned for exploiting. Please, for your own sake, do not try to reproduce this bug.
We all know how the banhammer swings around here.
That said, I cant get into my HOM either.
I was just curious, anet will most likely fix this anyway. No way anet would let so many people run around with achievements, skins, AP rewards and a title they obtained through a bug.
They are probably trying to figure out how to do it. Everyone is shouting “rollback!” but that’s a last resort because it could do more harm than good. Just imagine how many people got a precursor or another great drop in the last 20 hours.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I agree with the first two replies.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Its a guaranteed bug. It worked for everyone I know who tried it.
Nope it isn’t, guaranteed that is, I too created an alt earlier today, mostly to reserve a name (since I finally thought of a decent one for my Revenant to be) and I still have the exact same HoM points I have had until now and ever since launch.
It might work, or rather be broken, for a lot of people but saying that it works for everyone or that it is guaranteed is bit of a stretch without any evidence. Besides why would you encourage anyone to test this knowingly, when there is high chance for some kind of action to be taken for people that deliberately try and do it.
It didn’t work for me either.

Worst update in gw2 history?
You clearly weren’t around during LS Season 1.

Her and Magnus are the most senior members of the Lionguard. Even without aid from the Council they should have been more prepared than they were. Sometimes leadership means making big decisions. Kiel could have used her authority as a senior member of the Lionguard to begin a precautionary evacuation of the city without support from the Captain’s Council.
I get Magnus is a senior member of the Lionguard, but not Kiel. She is the most recent entry in the council and pretty young. Also I do not recall any LA councillor having more autority than the other, it seems all pretty equal.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Fine. Then take out ALL badges of Honor from the Achievement Chests. If they want the Gift of Battle, they still need to do the WvW aspect of it and not just get the easy way out.
When I heard about that rank change, I stockpiled Gift of Battles with Badges of Honor I got with AP chests, so nope lol!
Got 5 of them sitting in my bank right now just in case I wanted to make a legendary and I never play WvW.

RIP WvW………..
Lol yeah, this is totally going to kill WvW —rolls eyes--
If world completion was the only reason people went to WvW then the problem is in WvW itself, not world completion.

Nope, it’s usually the PvP communities that are the most toxic and hostile.
Nope, it’s always the other community we aren’t a part of that is the most toxic and hostile, which is why they are our enemies and we have to defeat them.
/all_of_human_history_summarized_in_one_sentence
While there are bad apples on both sides it’s common knowledge pvp communities are generally more toxic than pve communities.
~Sincerely, Scissors

We all learned from this thread , that the worst part of GW2 community is the WvW community.
I actually think it’s the other way around, but that’s just me.
Nope, it’s usually the PvP communities that are the most toxic and hostile.

I think this is a great decision.

People like that are not worth getting upset over. I would have just laughed and said “u mad bro?”.
“I got an Oontz necklace of the cat your argument is invalid, later fellas! "
“Oh, is it something good? I already have an ascended amulet with better stats so I salvaged this one for the mats. Got three ecto!”
Lmao!
~Sincerely, Scissors
Glad PVE gets what it wanted, and no longer needs to touch wvw more than a minimalist amount to craft a legendary.
Can those of us who fall asleep during the chasing after loot pinatas that is pve and thus only pvp/wvw also get a way to earn them with minimalist pve effort as well? Would be fair
The dungeon tokens and mats are there in pvp, so only having to complete nearly the entire vanilla open world pve experience is in the way. That is way worse than 4 pvp enabled maps imo (almost everyone hates getting ganked or zerged)… But as I’m a primarily pvp/wvw player, I am in the minority I guess
You already get the best rewards in the game (reward tracks) through afk’ing sPvP if you want to…do you really need more?
I’m talking about crafting Legendaries. Not the other rewards in game. That is what this is about. Gift of exploration, the star, and the title. The star and title you can keep, I think the gift is what most people want the most. I may be wrong!
I don’t know I really like my star
All I’m interested in is the star XD
~Sincerely, Scissors
Some PVE crybabies got what they wanted. WvW players get nada.
Mad that you can no longer harass/gank pve players?
~Sincerely, Scissors
Nothing is quite as fun as ganking a map completer. Oh well, all good things come to an end.
And people wonder why this change was made.
~Sincerely, Scissors
YES!!!! FINALLY!! Thank you so much!
Why Anet? What’s the point of it being called WORLD completion, if they don’t even have to explore the entire world of the game anymore?
The mists aren’t part of the world. It’s a different dimension.
~Sincerely, Scissors
People like that are not worth getting upset over. I would have just laughed and said “u mad bro?”.

How do you prove they are afk?
Anet has systems in place that prove when you are afk. Just leave your character somewhere for an hour, you will eventually be booted back to the character selection screen.
Also when a character is attacked by mobs and is not fighting back he is afk.
When a character stands around forever but uses his healing skill every minute to prevent getting kicked he is afk. (autocast on heal to prevent getting kicked is a common practice used by afkers) When a death player is just lying somewhere, and does not move upon getting revived and gets killed in that same spot later on he is afk.
It’s not rocket science to determine when someone is afk. I don’t mind afkers but don’t pretent you cannot prove if someone is afk, because that’s just not true.
~Sincerely, Scissors
dont punish ppl for playing the game the way they want.
Well if they are afk they are not playing lol :P
I don’t mind there being afkers. If they want to start the game, then do absolutely nothing then go ahead if it makes you happy. I just think it’s weird.
~Sincerely, Scissors
@Windu: Wait, people do that? oO
Man, I keep forgetting how creative lazy people can be…
Yep it’s astounding how much effort people put in not putting effort in anything
~Sincerely, Scissors
It’s probably because afk timers are easily circumvented. Just put autocast on your heal skill and you won’t get kicked.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Why would they not?
I never said they wouldn’t.
“Even if those changes do make it into the chinese version there is no guarantee they will be introduced into the western version as well.”
Do I misunderstand something about that sentence? Because it sounds to me like you’re implying they might not.
No guarantee they will =/= They will not.
I said there is a chance these changes (except for the camera changes) will not make it to the western version, I never said they definitely won’t. The Chinese client has a whole number of features that are not present in the western version.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Why would they not?

You can’t even imagine the amount of popcorn I have prepared in case those notes are false. oh joy oh joy
Those notes are real, coming from the official chinese GW2 site. But I remain skeptical for now. Even if those changes do make it into the chinese version there is no guarantee they will be introduced into the western version as wel. I hope it will, but for now I assume it won’t.
Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Muahahahahahahah! Oh happy day! (Somebody’s going to be kittened off though, just you watch)
Why would anyone get kittened off about this.. i mean seriously
PvP trolls who like seeing others suffer.

Well to be fair, I seem to recall Kiel calling for more defenses in the city but the rest of the council was like “meh”. So it’s not really her fault. Let’s not forget she is not the sole ruler of Lions Arch, she is part of a council.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Seriously, these charr are how charr have always been.
Except for all the charr that were able to walk straight up of course
~Sincerely, Scissors
I hope this means we will get the patch soon as well

This is fiction. Everything’s as possible as Anet wants it to be. If suddenly every Charrs’ legs fell off and they sprouted squid tentacles and wiggled around because of “reasons” that would be the reality of the game world no matter how absurd it would seem.
Except that charr standing up straight actually exist in the lore. Charr with squid tentacles do not. Big difference.
I do enjoy the “science says it can/can’t work” arguments in a game with sentient, thinking plants, undead, and lava monsters though…
Don’t tell that to me, I wasn’t the one who brought “science” into this argument, that was Drarnor Kunoram. I merely stated that charr standing up straight are part of the lore and are therefore possible to exist in gw2, that is all.
I never denied they could, either. It just wouldn’t be very comfortable, pretty similar to a human craning their neck.
Oh but I agree. I was merely pointing out to Substance E that the “science says it can/can’t work” arguments didn’t start here.

I feel like maybe Kiel has a point, the money being spent on defense spending is being hugely wasted. Not long after a humiliating defeat, our huge idea to defeat a dragon that we know has power over plant life is to send a fleet of airships made of WOOD?! That were immediately destroyed?! Heads should be rolling in Lions Arch right now.
Pact airships are made of metal.
