You don’t need ascended for open world PvE. Just go with a set of exotics. Sheesh. Talk about hyperbole.
I can’t speak for Zudet, but I was joking…

It is going to be rough on any one running burn as there main damage.
Hoping for a mastery or something. They can’t realistically proceed against Destroyers w/o solving the burning dps issue.
Trailer does look good. Can’t wait for next week. Bloodstone was a very cool map, but doesn’t really have much staying power.
They didn’t in GW1, you had to change your skills as they where immune to fire damage.
The flexibility of the gw1 skill system allowed for. Here it would severely hamper many eles and make Berserkers next to useless in pve. They couldnt get away with it here if we are taking on destroyers for a sustained period.
You say that like there are.no other options open to those classes, Ele have Water air and earth, warriors can focus on physical damage over condition damage. So I don’t see why they need to do anything.
Sure just spend 1000g to regear out of one build into another for a single LS episode… completely reasonable.
LOL!
Yeah just craft a new ascended set as your current burning condition build no longer works in the new content, don’t be so cheap

They still need weaknesses to make up for their immunities, just like gw1 had.

I still think it’s ridiculous that gw2 only has 1/3 of it’s predecessor’s world. It’s like having a sequel to wow that only has access to Kalimdor and nothing else.

In gw1 they also had weaknesses though. I’m fine with destroyers being immune to burning if they get loads of damage from water attacks or the ‘chill’ condition.
But as some already pointed out, the gw2 skill system does not have the flexibility gw1 had.

A time they used to create content. Imagine a content drought of more than a year… No thanks. That’s how long upgrading to DX12 and implement multithreading is going to take, if we are lucky. It’s not a simple matter of just ‘fixing it’. You are asking them to redesign the entire game because you are having FPS problems.
You can either keep blaming anet for your problems, or you can try and let us help you.
And as i’ve told you before, i’m running the game just fine. And I know plenty of people who have no problem running the game either. So evidently the game is capable of running smoothly. So I’ll ask again, are your drivers in order? How old is your PC? What generation i3 do you have? And so on. The more we know about your system, the more likely we are to find a solution for you.
Lol you don’t even realize the extent of what you’d have to learn to be at the point where you could help me improve FPS. Most of it would be behind Anet’s approval, too.
What you could do is be like a lot of other players and send a complaint to Anet, because it’s been a problem through the past four years, and many more if you consider how long GW’s been around.
I don’t need to send a complaint because the game is working fine for me.
Since you obviously don’t want help i’ll leave it at that. Good day sir.

Switching to DX12 wouldn’t magically unlock all of DX12’s functionalities. To take advantage of DX12 fully a game’s engine has to be constructed around DX12, simply converting to DX12 would bring little gain while at the same time resulting in years of bugs.
Anet’s had a long time to fix their engine. A long, long time.

If the game still works, what difference does it make?
The difference being GW looks great and runs at a flat 60+, no issues. While GW2 won’t go above 40 no matter what kitten settings I pick. Whatever Anet did, they really kittened up their engine.
Something must be wrong with your system then. I play at 60 FPS (130 FPS with the frame limiter turned off). At medium/high settings.
Have you checked if your drivers are properly installed and up-to-date?
Also what are your specs?Dual Xeons, which are a benchmark equivalent of an i3-4150. Unfortunately since Anet doesn’t know what multicore coding is, instead of getting 60+ fps like an i3-4150 does/can do, I get ~20~30fps at similar settings/specs (other than CPU).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63YvHmc0C5kDon’t talk about drivers. Honestly.
I’ve worked at technical support once, you would be surprised how many performance issues are caused by faulty driver installations.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I tried using the mentor tag the way it’s supposed to be used. But everyone just assumes it’s a commander tag and starts following me for no reason or ask why I’m not leading events.
I like the concept of a mentoring system, but the implementation is less than ideal.

I don’t get why this ‘catching up’ is such a big deal in the first place. It’s not a competition….
So some vets have a lot more AP than a new player, so what? It’s only logical since they have been playing a lot longer. And you can’t ‘catch up’ anyway because not all achievements are available anymore.

Only if they rework it so it no longer sucks (which I’m sure they won’t do).
Either make all skills work underwater or offer replacements for the ones that don’t. (It’s especially bad on Revenants)
~Sincerely, Scissors
Well since I have 28 characters on lvl 80, the first thing I did was do map completion on all of them. That’s 5 blood rubies, 100 unbound magic and 1 BL key or Transmutation Charge per character. The map is really small so getting completion there only took me a few minutes per character.
Of course this is not an option for everyone. So after that I just did the Jade and Hablion event constantly by switching maps through the LFG tool. You can only get Blood Rubies from those like 2 or 3 times per day per character so if you have an alt, switch to it after you have done those events a few times.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Of course, with the announcement of the next part of LW3 in the Ring of Fire, we know that hearts are coming back.
As these hearts don’t count toward world completion, I’m not too stressed about them. I still think, however, the resources could have been spent on repeatable content instead of one time content.
Perhaps I am mistaken, but didnt the article decribe the upcoming new hearts as repeatable?
No idea, since I haven’t read the article, but if they are repeatable, that would be better. Particularly if there’s a reason to repeat them.
They are repeatable.

It appears Episode 2 will be released on the 20th of September and take place in a new zone called Ember’s Bay which is located on the Ring of Fire Islands.
Other new features/content (List taken from Dulfy ):
1. Ley Line Gliding Mastery needed to move quickly across the large map.
2. New Mastery, Thermal Propulsion (Ancient Magic tier 2) costs 3 Mastery Points and allow you to shoot around point to point much like Nuhoch Wallows.
3. New jumping puzzle designed by Josh Foreman at heart of the Mursaat Fortress
4. Heart Quests will be returning in the map with repeatable daily and rewards
5. New rewards include a skritt contract that allow you to summon a skritt merchant, a new weapon set, and new shoulder/gloves from achievements.
6. New bosses including the Molten Dominator. Defeating it will unlock special updrafts that get you to special areas that were previously closed off.
7. New conquest PvP map also arriving with this update – Eternal Coliseum. It is a 5v5 map with 3 capture points and two new items to capture: Sword of Reaping or the Shield of Life. They either finish downed players or give health/shielding and one revive if you fall.
8. New PvP map will be showcased at the Pro League World Championships on Sept 17 on https://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2

I think most folks will be happy to hear that the Heart quests from GW2 make a return in Ember Bay. In fact, they’re actually repeatable daily and have plenty of rewards tied to doing them that Nellie and Elisabeth weren’t quite to share.

Instead we have adventures, which is pretty much the same thing. Except more challenging, more rewarding and, more importantly, repeatable.

I admit I’m quite surprised you only get one. I mean I can understand you can only get 1 backpack with 1 character. But if you have 5 characters reaching 4 years of age, you should be able to get all 5 backpacks.
Not that I’m complaining, I’m very satisfied and grateful for my gift
I just hope we get to pick a backpack again during the 5th birthday.

Yeah the design of this event is one of the worst I have ever seen.
~Sincerely, Scissors
This event needs to be a lot clearer (where do we need to be? Where will it spawn? When will it spawn?). Also these creatures need to spawn in every instance of the map.
This is my experience with the event so far:
The device tells me to go for the Blood-crazed moa.
Apparantly this spawns in either: Snowden Drifts, Brisban Wildlands, Kessex Hills, Diessa Plateau when you kill enough moas (I needed a dulfy guide to find this out, this is not mentioned anywhere in game).
I went to Snowden Drifts, found many other players there waiting. Only a few were actually killing moas since there are only a few of them on the entire map and they take a long time to respawn. So I just decided to stand around with most other players. Then after about 20 minutes the device suddenly shows a Shark and Arctodus (where the hell was the Moa??).
Anyway, I go check Dulfy again
to see where the Bloodcrazed Shark spawns, I go to Mount Maelstrom, find a large group of players, wait for about 20 minutes again, then I heard the Bloodcrazed Shark was killed on another instance of the map…
~Sincerely, Scissors
It was the least worst name.
Dragon Watch is cheesy and clichéd, but at least it makes sense.
We are after all a group that guards Tyria from Elder Dragons, by killing them.
I can see the recruitment pamflets already.

What is a god?
In every polytheistic belief, “long lived powerful beings capable of creating and reshaping life and landscapes that live in an afterlife world” is the very core definition of what a god is, and the Six Gods fit that definition exactly.
Well I guess it depends on what someone percieves as a god.
For me personally, gods would be: Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and creator of all creation. Eternal entities of pure perfection. I don’t think the six gods fit that description.
I’m in no way as versed in the lore as any of you, nor do I know much about theology, so take anything I say with a grain of salt, but as Drax said I think the norn got the right idea. The six gods being spirits that embody a specific concept.

The only thing I want to know is what they exactly are. We know they aren’t really gods, just powerful beings. But what are they exactly?

Same here, I grinded out ley-line gliding just for Bloodstone Fen, then found out you could just buy it..
But oh well, at least I got another mastery and 12 more mastery levels now..
~Sincerely, Scissors
Very, very “No” on both of those, thank you.
What I would like to see is a description field that the player can fill out, that others can read by right clicking on the character.
If you’re a RPer, you can fill it with a brief backstory or RP notes. If you want people to know what kind of gear or build you have, you can list it there for them to read. And if you want to duel people, you can start/join a guild made for that (with a guild hall arena), and put in your description that you’ll gladly accept all challenges by going to the arena in your guildhall and fighting.
^This right here!

Sorry, but I have morals
He said while playing a game that revolves around murder, war and mayhem.
It’s so bizarre when people have moral objections with certain attire in video games, yet they kill countless of people in these games for currency.
Seriously, it’s a video game, anything goes. It’s not real. Games today are filled with violence, murder, war, torture, blackmail, slavery, genocide and many more ‘immoral’ things. Yet no one has a problem with this, instead they complain about skimpy clothing and naked people…
I don’t really want to see half-naked woman running around.
Just because you don’t want it doesn’t mean that no one should have it.
Haha. Funny. Then why does the USA have rules against public nudity?
The USA also have rules against murdering people, yet that’s exactly what we do in Guild Wars 2, and many other games.

I don’t think because the skins are similar, that they are the same kind of item. The Glider has the wings deployed, the backpack does not.
Thus, no necessary dye channels included. Not only that, the Dev, Tidgepot, explained the issue in this very thread. (Not sure where his/her Red Splash got off to…)
I didn’t realize that was a dev.
Yeah that explanation makes sense I guess. Oh well.
~Sincerely, Scissors
They could at least make it possible for this particular backpack, since the groundwork is already there anyway. And once that is implemented, it will pave the way for more dyable backpacks in the future.
No, the ground work isn’t done yet, according to ANet.
How so? The glider is worn on the back and can be dyed, why can’t the backpack?
Not that I don’t believe you, but I’m genuinely curious.
I can understand if a backpack was never designed to be dyed that it would be a lot of work, but this particular backpack already has the necessary dye channels included.

I was doing events in Bloodstone Fen when I suddenly got disconnected.
Whenever I tried to get back in I manage to get to the character selection screen, but as soon as I select a character I get “Network error” after a short loading period.
That was over an hour ago. I just tried a few times again and it’s still the same problem.
I was also unable to reach this forum for almost an hour. Did the all the servers crash?
I thoroughly checked my internet connection and it’s fine. I also asked around in a Gw2 FB group I’m in and many people seem to be having the same issue. So it’s definitely a problem on the game’s end.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I don’t think that makes it her fault in any way. For one, what would trahearne have done? “Oh I’m sorry guys, I can’t come with you”? That wouldn’t have worked out very well at all.
It would’ve worked out better than hundreds of (sylvari) pact soldiers turning on us.
Getting your ships torn out of the sky is worse enough. Having a large part of your force turn against you on top of that is even worse.Like they weren’t going to turn anyway…..
Not necessarily no, it has been shown in HoT that the closer you are to the dragon, the stronger it’s influence. We didn’t get reports of Sylvari being corrupted by the hundreds in the Grove now did we?
And EVEN IF Sylvari would be corrupted no matter where they are, it’s still stupid to take hundreds with you when you are going to fight the very thing that tries to control them. If they are going to turn anyway, I would not have it on our ships, in the middle of a battle no less.
The only reason the Pact did this in the first place is because they didn’t know Sylvari were dragon minions. Which brings us back to what started this: Caithe should have told them.
~Sincerely, Scissors

i don’t get it, may i ask why would you want to hide a keybind?
Because he thinks he has some super secret way of arranging his keys so that it makes him a superior player and he doesn’t want the plebs knowing how he became so awesome.
LOL.
Probably.

The latter.
And it’s not that norn females don’t return from the north, but that the Sons of Svanir kill any females-turned-icebrood.
