Braham is right about one thing though. Caudecus is none his concern. It’s entirely a human matter.
He’s an outspoken opponent of the charr-human truce. If he succeeds and rules Kryta, it will most likely lead to another Charr-Human conflict, or at the very least cease all cooperation between the two races. This would negatively affect all of Tyria, especially with Jormag en Primordus on our doorstep and the Pact mostly in ruins. We can’t afford to be divided.
And even IF Kryta being lead by an evil dictator would somehow miraculously not affect the rest of Tyria in any way, if Braham doesn’t care about other people’s problems, then why should we give a kitten about his?

“I won’t be told what I can and can’t do.” – Marjory
I understand her decision, but what’s the point of having a Guild hierarchy if its not respected? Why join the commanders guild if they’re just going to branch-off whenever they disagree with a decision?
^THIS.
Why even join the guild if you are just going to do your own thing anyway!?
I made another mini comic to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Deviantart link for those interested.
More likely we’re heading to the Isles of Janthir. They dropped hints about it last living world installment claiming that’s where Caudecus was apparently heading.
Would be nice if we went to Lake Doric first, then from there, we take a ship to the Isles of Janthir. Lake Doric is connected to Janthir Bay by river.
If they do Lake Doric it would be nice if they would just connect it with core Tyria without gated access. They had us pay for shared slots but they are eating them up with portal scrolls. They need to replace those portal scrolls with something that pops up a menu of destinations.
Old LA used to have an area with a bunch of Asura gates that were never used. This would’ve been perfect for that. Have a Hub with Asura gates for all the new areas that cannot be reached without an Asura gate.
1st The Norn would most likely side with the Charr, you don’t turn your back on a good drinking buddy. Plus the Norn very unorganized
The premise of the thread is everyone fighting against everyone. If you include the possibility of alliances, it stops being a matter of military strength and position alone, and you have to start considering how other alliances might work out. Depending on exactly what caused the fighting to break out, this could lead to the possibility of human-sylvari, human-asura, or even human-sylvari-asura or asura-charr-norn alliances.
It pretty much boils down to asura being the deciding factor in that case: charr, humans, and asura are strong enough that an alliance between the asura and either charr or humans could likely overwhelm the other three with sylvari being in a weakened state. (A charr-human alliance would also probably be unstoppable, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario of all-out war where that happens.)
Except that the Humans are not strong any more. War with both Charr and Centaur nearly destroyed them completely. Let along all their internal issues because humans can’t seem to work together for long. I know the promise of the thread an in my opinion the Norn are simply no threat due to lack of organization. They would rather drink an party .
Humans are stronger than you think. They crushed the centaurs, drove them all the way back to Harathi and killed their leaders (see heart/event quests line). The Charr only destroyed Ascalon, they barely damaged Kryta (not for lack of trying).
Also lets not forget that humans have Airships too. And Watch Knights. They are still far behind the Asura and Charr of course, but they are not totally helpless technology wise.
I hope this will be the next map. It looks very peaceful.
Every new map we’ve had until now is one giant hell pit filled with death en mayhem.
That’s… awesome of course. But not every new map should be like that, it would be nice to have some less hostile maps too. With more open terrain.
My Human and Asura characters are going to war, who will prevail?
there were no charges laid against him.
Yes there was.
Veteran Adamant Team Lead: Thus, you’ve been stripped of your rank and are hereby charged with dereliction of duty.
The Commander cannot say what the race can or cannot do. We are not Queen Jennah, Zojja, Phlunt, Rytlock, Knut, Eir, Caithe, Logan or Pale Tree. We are just a small character, we only kill dragons and we are not meant to rule over the Races.
The killer of an Elder Dragon is by no means a small character. We personally know every character you just mentioned and more. We’re the individual who knows every major figure in Central Tyria, and we have the merits to be a major figure ourselves (former second in command and co-founder of the Pact, slayer of two Elder Dragons).
We may not be national leaders, but those leaders will lend their ears to us. They already did.
Thank you!
I don’t like this idea some players have that the PC is somehow not a big deal anymore and not worth listening to just because he/she isn’t the Commander anymore.
Screw that.
-The PC killed two Elder Dragons
-Knows pretty much every major figure in Tyria personally.
-Killed thousands upon thousands of enemies by him/herself (see Slayer achievements)
-killed many dragon champions and other important hostile figures (inquest leaders, flame legion leaders, centaur leaders, the list goes on for quite a while..)
-Is the savior of Lions Arch
-One of the Pact founders, if not the most important founder.
-Pretty much helped out… everyone! with something. (see heart quests)
And now the PC is the personal caretaker and protector of Aurene, who might be our only hope if we don’t want the world to drown in an overabundance of magic.
There’s a reason the PC can carry the title “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals”.
The PC might very well be one of the most important figures in the entire game (lorewise). I’m not saying everyone should be at our beck and call, but our voice should not be ignored.

The Char fight against Ascalon ghosts out of hatred and stubbornness. But the ghosts are very contained and can’t normaly move freely outside their place of haunting. Charr could easyly withdraw from Ascalon to attack other enemies. Similar can be said about the branded.
The ogres are a minor threat, more similar to an annoying guerrilla than to a real battlefront.
The Flame Legion and Ebonhawke, however, are a totally different matter. They are real opponents no Charr could turn their back on.So it all would fall down on the strategy taken by the high commands in the Charr army. If they decide to go with all the force against the humans, they are done. But that would meant to sacrifice the Black Citadel to the flame legion, to gain Divinity’s Reach instead. Hard call for them, really.
Even in this situation – the risk is immense.
What if DR holds? Not forever – but long enough to exhaust the attacking Charr while the Black Citadel falls to the ghosts or Flame Legion. What do they do then? Even if they manage to breach DR and slaughter the humans to a man how do they sustain themselves?
A siege of DR means the destruction of the areas around that produce foodstuffs to support it. Either by attacking Charr or retreating humans.
They would win DR only to find themselves completely open, undersupplied ( if supplied at all) and weakened. It’s not a real call unless you’re suicidal.
You forgot that the Charr can just bomb Divinity’s Reach from the sky…
These days humans have airships too you know.
We don’t really know how many airships each race has, but we’ve seen them in possession of the Charr, Humans, Lionguard and Pact.
Though I guess it’s safe to say the pact does not have many airships anymore at the moment
I sell every one I get. If Arena Net would let me sell all of the stupid account bound crap, I would be grateful. I will NOT craft. At least let me get rid of all this garbage in a way that is good for me.
ANet already provided a way to get rid of it that is good for you, crafting. Your personal choice to refuse doing that is not their problem.
You absolutely have the freedom to do whatever you wish, but don’t mistake that for a right to have your choices be consequence-free.
You are mistaken about it not being ANet ’s problem.
Anything that alienates, reduces engagement of, or disenfranchises potential paying customers is a problem for the company. Now the company may very well decide that they can live with the problem, particularly if they are unable to find a solution, but it is still their problem.
ANet does, after all, have the right to do whatever they wish with the game, but should not mistake that for a right to have their choices be consequence free.
If technical details aren’t relevant to the conversation, then I suppose there is nothing left to discuss.
The devs have stated that they can’t do it due to technical reasons.

Funny but I thought that the discord in the little group where Marjory was not willing to simply be told what to do as if she was a subordinate and Braham’s anger over what he saw as the disrespect for his mother’s (and Snaff’s) legacy was the first sign of any true “mature content” in the story line.
These are not soldiers in our own little army, they’re heroes and almost by definition a hero is someone who’s willing to stand up to and do what they think is right. When that’s at odds with what our character wants then a clash is inevitable and correct. Before now the characters were all just tagging along with us on our merry japes, now they have a little character of their own and their own goals. This will allow for a much more interesting story-line, IMO.
I suspect that they will return with a preview of the new elite specs before the next expansion but then I remember that norn who go to fight Jormag and fail tend to come back as icebrood so…
You think “I’m glad you didn’t join Destiny’s Edge. My Mother wouldn’t want you in there.” is mature? LOL
No, what people are complaining about is characters being immature or selfish.
I am not opposed to NPCs being immature or selfish…plenty of people are. My concern is not being allowed to
avoid or ignorepunch such people.FTFY
QFT
I have shared your video on the Guild Wars 2 and Expansions facebook group (11.010 members) and it has been recieved very well, I thought you might like to know
This is great. Even though I played season 1 myself, I know plenty of people who were never able to. They will be very interested in this. Thanks for making this
Rata Sum would surely just look to another side.
The goverment of Rata Sum is corrupt as hell and High Councillor Flax secretly supports the inquest. There’s even an inquest council member, Councillor Yahk.
The goverment might condemn the use of technomagical bio-weapons, but only publicly. Secretly they would condone it, and perhaps even let the Arcane Eye support them.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
I’m sure it’s allowed as long as you don’t make any money with it.
I don’t really want them death, but I do hope their plans blow up in their face so we can have an extremely satisfying “I told you so” moment.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Gamers have gone too soft to allow this in games today. Personally I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see open world Pvp in GW2.
Some of my best gaming memories are with impromptu fights in cities and while questing. I always found it fun.
Yes because nothing says “I’m super hardcore” like one-shotting players 40+ levels lower than you. Or constantly killing important npc’s to troll people.
Yep, that’s definitely what this game needs.
Not really..
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
I’m definitely looking forward to it as well.
I can’t wait to watch from the sidelines as Braham’s plan blows up in his face.
I can’t wait for Braham to use that tiny-crack-inflicting-bow on Jormag and he just throws Braham into the freaking sun.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to give players the ability to kill friendly NPC’s.
I hate it in WoW, and I’m sure I will hate it in GW2.
I can’t wait to go Divinity’s Reach only to find every banker, trader and merchant dead….
Even if there aren’t folks having issues with the glider, this thread and others makes clear that a lot of players are.
Well at least a dozen anyway.
The Char fight against Ascalon ghosts out of hatred and stubbornness. But the ghosts are very contained and can’t normaly move freely outside their place of haunting.
The Charr personal story starts with Ghost of Ascalon attacking the Village of Smokestead, right outside the eastern entrance of The Black Citadel.
The Ghost of Ascalon are stuck in time, thinking they are still alive and at war with the Charr. They will definitely go on the offensive when one of their leaders (like Duke Baradin) tells them to.
I googled the definition of ‘paws’ and it said ‘claws and pads’.
Charr have pads on the ends of their digits.
Asura don’t.
In addition to that, paws are feet. Charr run on all fours, Asura don’t.
I’ve just released a small 7-page Wintersday bonus comic that ties in directly with the “A Skritty Situation” comic, which can be found in the post above this one.
The other pages of the Wintersday Bonus comic can be found here.
Warning: Terrible jokes and puns :P
PS. The “Skritty Situation” Comic will resume shortly.
They might be likable with some sauce but other than that….
They are rats, so they have claws.
They used to live under ground, it would be logical for them to have claws to dig out dirt and such.
Skritt are rats.
Asura are not. They are more like Gremlins than anything else.
Asura have a sped up evolution.
Evolution goes from generation to generation.
Generally, the faster a species reproduces, the faster they evolve. That’s why bacteria always evolve so fast. I have not seen any indication that Asura reproduce significantly faster than the other races of Tyria.
Actually they probably reproduce less because they are so career focused.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Actually female Icebrood can exist.
Yes, we got confirmation from devs. It was an overall disappointing answer given what folks were wondering and theorizing.
I mean, we knew from the get-go that Jormag corrupted women just as much as he corrupted men, but we didn’t know until some interview in 2013 iirc about what actually happened to them. The answer was simply “the Sons of Svanir hunt them down and kill them because they don’t believe they are worthy to receive Jormag’s ‘gifts’”
Definitely hands.
Forum bug.
So far in this thread its just you Dreamy so try to not blow it out of proportions.
If you learned in old games to hold down jump to move further how can you not learn in new games to do the opposite?
In my oppinion this is not something they need to waste time on.
So far it’s Dreamy in this thread, but this is a topic that comes up repeatedly so obviously it’s a problem for a number of people

Just wanted to point that out.
This isn’t a L2P issue…
Yes it is.
If it wasn’t, then EVERYONE would be suffering from this “problem”.
The whole issue stems from you wanting to hold spacebar while jumping, something that is not required at all, and your stubborn refusal to adjust your play style accordingly.
I don’t think the devs should spent precious development time on a trivial issue that can easily be overcome by adjusting your play style. When HoT released I had the exact same problem you now have, I was able to overcome it and so can you.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
No this is so dumb!
When I do long jumps I like holding down the spacebar!
That is how I play games that have Jump…You use the controls wrong so the game is being dumb? Ok…
Another l2p issue. You’re used to holding spacebar despite the fact it doesn’t add any distance to the jump.
Exactly. Learn not to hold space bar for jumping. Problem solved.
Most jumping puzzles disable gliding anyway..I’m NOT using the controls wrong noob.
Evidently you are, your glider keeps opening even though you don’t want it due to your inadequate usage of the controls.
Yet I am the noob somehow?
Cool story bro.
This system is BROKEN…
It needs FIXING…
No it does not, you need to learn how to properly use the controls.
I was used to holding the spacebar too, but I adapted.
Instead you demand the developers spend time adjusting the system because you refuse to learn, which is more than a little arrogant.
I do not want to accidently glide when I do not want too.
Then don’t.

Why its so difficult to make more armors instead of Outfits?
If we could Combine all those beautiful elements in the Outfits i would have the freakin best armor ALL TIME !
So please stop making all those Outfits..
I know right. Many of the outfits look nice but it all falls flat when you can’t even mix n match them….
I don’t get why Anet does it, they can make just as much money from armors, if nothing else it harms their income because people with outfits never have to buy transmutation charges anymore. Except maybe for weapons.

I think the status quo would largely be maintained.
Yes the Charr legions are the superior fighting machine when it comes to warfare. But let’s not forget they are already engaged on multiple fronts. They are currently dealing with packs of ogres, branded, flame legion and ghosts of ascalon, of which the latter can never truly be defeated. Now add Ebonhawke and the Norn to that. The Charr will be fighting on so many fronts I think it will take a while before they actually start conquering large swaths of land.
The norn, while strong individually, are not exactly team players. They don’t form armies and are not interested in conquest, only in hunting and becoming famous.
The Charr will probably invade their territory, and because the Charr are unable to unleash their full strength the Norn are probably able to hold them off.
Ebonhawke is basically in the same situation they’ve been in before they had an alliance with Kryta, and before the Asura gate came. Cut off from the rest of Tyria and surrounded, but they’ve dealt with that situation before and they have an extremely fortified position and since the Charr can’t unleash their full strength against them Ebonhawke will be able to hold out for quite a while.
The Asura have superior technology and many golems, but they aren’t exactly military minded. They’ll probably cower in their cities and labs and use their superior technology to keep other races at bay. They’ll also shut down the Asura gates in the other cities.
The Sylvari will probably won’t start conquering anything either since their race got weakened by Mordremoth. Many of their people turned into mordrem and were in turn killed. And The Pale Tree is still out cold and wounded.
The humans of Kryta are probably the only ones in the position to take advantage of the situation and conquer some new land, but not much. The Charr are half a world away and occupied by multiple fronts, the Norn, Sylvari and Asura aren’t conquering anything either. So the humans would be largely unopposed as long as they don’t reach too far. Also lets not forget that the humans are not as far behind, technology wise, as you might think. Kryta has Airships too, not to mention Watch Knights.
I’ve just released the first 4 pages of my new story comic ‘A skritty situation’.
More pages will be added to this folder over time.
I doubt it’s a macro, he’s probably just using the ingame auto-attack feature. With it you can make one skill activate automatically everytime it’s recharged, I used to do this when waiting for Tequatl.
Made another mini comic.
He’s quite an asset when he’s thinking properly.
Is he? I can’t remember a time when he didn’t argue and complain about everything.
he had the right idea. Not that anyone actually listened, what with all the side trips and detours.
We were there to fight a war, not save his mommy. Rushing in blindly is what got the pact (and by extension Eir) into this mess in the first place. As the commander we could not afford thinking about just one person. Our main objective was to defeat mordremoth, which meant organizing the pact remnants, gather intelligence, secure alliances with the local population and keep the egg out of Mordremoths possession. That’s exactly what we did and should have done. Saving Eir was a secondary objective.
It depends on the situation and the way it is told.
If someone is saying they have nothing to do and are bored with the game, telling them to play something else until more content is released is just helping out. They can either stay playing this game and be unhappy and bored, or play something else and have fun while they wait for new content.
However, if someone uses it to dismiss suggestions of others then it is insulting.
OP: I would like <insert feature>
Response: I don’t want that feature so no one here should have it! Play another game!
That is insulting.
No.
With all due respect, keep your hands off of my AP. I did not do daillies for years just to have this all this AP taken from me because some people believe daillies are too easy. The vast majority of the achievements in this game are easy anyway.
What if we as the player character are not meant to kill every single Elder Dragon on our own
We never did. Zhaitan was killed by Destiny’s Edge and the entire Pact (which included the commander). Mordremoth was also killed by the entire Pact and Dragon’s Watch (which again included the commander).
Killing Elder Dragons is and always has been a group effort.
Mordremoth was a two part battle, that required not only the Dragon’s Watch and the Pact, but all the forces the other races had to offer as well. Dragon’s Watch only dealt with the internal battle of Mordremoth, Dragon’s Stand meta event is how he was distracted and killed from the outside. We never would have made it to enter his mind without the Pact and the troops sent by the other races marching their forces down three lanes and distracting the “Mouth of Mordremoth”.
We have never killed a Dragon alone, but we were a great force combiner and leader that heard peoples plans and made the tough choices, as we have always done. There is no excuse that the player can’t do it alone and Braham is a fool in thinking that we are the deciders. We never choose who gets to kill a Dragon, we fought them as they fought us and played the cards we have always been dealt and that is something Braham doesn’t understand. He rushes in and doesn’t look at the card he has to play with. He is a destructive force and will kill a lot of people.
Exactly.
So you can’t traverse a very inhospitable wildernis filled with dragon minions and hostile wildlife while running a sub-optimal class cannon build without any stun breakers or condi cleanse.. and that’s somehow unacceptable?
not a battalion of alcoholics.
lol
If you play through the third episode, you’ll get some information referring to Caudecus.
We do? I dont remember that when I was playing epi3…
I agree, I want to know what happened to White Mantle and what’s going on atm with them….
It was said that currently Canach went to the Isles of Janthir to go after Caudacus.
I really hope we go there some day.
