Just bring warrior damage inline with gaurdian healing
Nah that would put other classes under a disadvantage. They need to man up and nerf guardians already. EZ mode faceroll OP holy trinity classes need to be balanced.
Stealth Detection:
Hard counters are generally very bad things, and in the case of thieves pretty much renders them moot. They are far too squishy and rely to heavily on their stealth in many specs, if you remove the stealth… you’ve pretty much removed all of their survivability and variability.
If you want to address stealth, address stealth directly. Don’t try to meander about it by introducing hard counters or we’re going to devolve into GW1: BS spam go go go.
New Debuffs:
Your criticals immobilize. Snare is useless as it can be dodged out of etc. Chill as well. Weakness on critical.Waaaayyy too strong. 100% crit rate and, what, you’re forced to eat the full animation of 100B because Bull’s Charge not only stunned you but immobed, and then were permanently immob by 100B?

Revamp Destruction of the Empowered:
1 boon ripped per adrenaline bar when bursting for a max of 3 boons per burst. Make it more accessible. Some weapon abilities should have boon ripping. Example GS or Axe auto sequence 3 since they are the mostly commonly used.
Something turns out OP? Hey..np..nerf it back. Whats the worst that can happen? Warriors get a spot light like mesmers/guardians/thieves since launch?Eles? etc.-No hard counters are not bad. Thieves have shadowsteps on demand on their weapons with zero cooldown. They can teleport to you with mug. If they are in trouble they can run away while stealthed. If they are stupid enough to stand beside me when stealthed then they should drop.
Everyone agrees that the thief class in this game is broken due to repeated stealth during combat -except thief players-.
Stealth will not be addressed directly. I think almost a whole year since the game out with no significant change to stealth kinda shows that.-immobilize on crit can have an internal cool down. Not rocket science. Do you check the trait description on various classes?
DotE is fine in and of itself, it just needs to be in a better line. Its placement is terrible at the moment as the cost to take it cannot be justified against what has to be given up. The other option is to keep it where it is but have it bypass protection, though that may be too powerful.

It is useless against a guardian whom it should be the most effective against. I’ll explain it again -really need to create a word document for it-:
Save yourselves shout: One of the most ridiculous abilities in the game with the Highest number of boons per ability in the game on a guardian: 7 boons.

-So that is 3×7=21% extra damage. One of those boons is protection so 33% damage reduction-21% increased damage= 12% reduction of damage.
-So you can’t even break through the protection.
-Also, regen is running and they have heals firing off so its now even worse.
-Retaliation is up and so your hurting yourself more with this ability.
Ele? 4 boons up including protection? 33-12=21% damage reduction with DOE.
Engy? Same thing when they have protection up.
So in every case scenario you can’t even break through the protection.
Also, it needs boons to be up. We have traits that give us passive increase in damage all the time which you can spec into and are 10% flat increase regardless of boons so close to 12% which is the equivalent of DOE on a 4 boon target.
I hope you play your warrior extensively because most of us still do and I tried it extensively and it does jack kitten against guardians who know how to face roll through their buttons. You still end up backing off when they pop their ‘Save yourselves’ shout. So basically its pointless.
We need boon Ripping. I don’t think anyone who pvps extensively with a warrior thinks this ability comes even close to boon ripping.
Let us compare with some other classes that have had these abilities since launch-mesmers/necros- or got them now even though they are already OP-thieves-:
Thieves: Have a WEAPON skill with ZERO cooldown that STEALS two boons..not increases damage..not removes boons..STEALS them

I don’t see after all that how someone can say DOE isn’t kitten. The problem isn’t that it is deep in a line that nobody goes deep in, only..it is just..crap..

- The healing you suggested would be nice but incoherent. ArenaNet cares a lot about coherency (you won’t see Warriors casting spells) so you have to find a reason to make it “realistic”.
- Stealth detection would be awesome. Many Thieves just keep going invisible, heal, come back, attack, hide again, repeat. They win fights because they can “pause” the fight whenever they want and that should NOT be rewarded. Agree with you.
- Warrior forms are what many other people suggested as how stances should be, give a look to Warrior sub-forum. I think that introducing F2, F3 and F4 to Warrior (offensive, defensive and utility stance) would make them a lot funnier to play.
- Immobilize and snare are the same thing, can’t understand this point.
- About GS skill 4: based on your suggestion, I suggest to make the sword pushing back all enemies it hits while flying forward and pulling all enemies it hits while flying backward. It would be a nice CC very based on positioning (and a lot of of fun to see in teamfights XD).
- The boon ripping from trait is a great idea, for sure more useful than increased damage.
-Doesn’t need to be a spell..they can name it whatever they want..I don’ think warriors give a kitten about lore. I don’t think Anet are sticklers for coherent things..super adventure box? I think it would be more coherent NOT to lose their player base and to fix the class. If someone doesn’t like it then they can RP somewhere else.

-GS4 pushing enemies away would not make sense. You want to close in your targets that are kiting you, why would you push them away? The only reason you would want that is vs. other melee which are a minority more or less. I’d rather have a way to close a gap when I have a melee weapon.

i was trying every weapon set, every combination. i think longbow > rifle if i want range weapon, it just fit me better. also nobody want to stay in that kitten from F1, which crit for 1,5k every tick lol
problem is, i found overall best weapon set for warrior gs/a+shield. its maybe boring (i don’t think so), but warrior work best with this. gs gives great mobility and burst, axe and shield gives sustain, cc, burst. problem is, if i want to take rifle from bag, i need trait it also, or its kittening useless

btw i have today very frustrating fight against two p/d thieves. problem was, when i manage get one down, second use shadow refugee, first port away and second ress him under cloak. seriously i get them to downed 7x, they still ressing themselves, cloaking on mobs around and they kill me at the end /sad panda
Stealth downed state should be revealed by damage..period. Its just one extra slap in the face to good players from Anet again favoring the broken thief class.
Anet’s stealth class is an exploitation and broken mechanics’ class and will ever be remembered as the worst stealth class in history. Make yourself heard in spvp and wvw forums about the thieves or they will never be fixed. God I hope whomever designed the class doesn’t get hired in any future game.
We think that Warriors need more sustain in sPvP. You’ll see this reflected in upcoming balance changes.
Traits are huge in this, and just like you saw trait reworks recently for Warrior, we’ll be doing more trait changes to help to this end.

True. Everyone is busy but mentioning the changes pre application would save you time and effort on not having to re-look the changes.
That way we can avoid nasty surprises -ike destruction of the empowered, signet of might etc- if you hear from your testers -aka players-. Who knows.. we might even say something useful.
Is this a joke.. I’m a main thief and secondary class Warrior. While I do agree that warrior needs major attention in Spvp; Arena net devs are replying to which I’m saying congrats! You’re acknowledging the problem.. but do you plan to do anything about thieves… There has been zero replies to hundreds of ideas in the thief section and not one reply; meanwhile warrior gets 5-10+ arena net replies.. This in no way is fair; Pistolwhip / Dancing dagger have been nerfed due to quickness and need revamping , P/P set, a few trait lines.. This is my knowledge of thief only; I’m sure other classes are being neglected as well..

Warrior don’t have easy access to protection, regeneration and other “bunker” boons. Also to deal with conditions easily Warrior need to spec to do it (soldier runes, warhorn with Quick Breathing, invest trait points into tactic line).
IMO Warrior shouldn’t have easy access to “bunker” boons because that will change warrior into Guardian. I also accepted that that conditions are hard counter to Warrior.

If i may suggest: discipline trait line have nice traits but 3% to burst damage is a sad joke that all warriors don’t laugh at anymore- invest only 15 points for fast hands and take unsuspecting foe from arms line since you run weapons with stuns, also sigil of paralyzation in nice for longer stunlock.I don’t think Warrior were supposed to have access to bunker boons. There are several professions who have poor access to protection and I don’t think it is a problem considering that Warriors have a nice amount of damage cancelling skills, defensive CC and toughness stacking traits. They have also heavy armor like guardians, but with a considerable higher HP pool.
About conditions, I usually bring “Shake it off!” and Mending, which I find them more then enough to deal with any form of condition. Considering that Warriors have an huge HP pool, bleeding isn’t that much of a problem, I just use those skills when I realize bleeding stacks are getting too high.
I spend traitpoints into Discipline for a simple reason: Destruction of the Empowered. That trait is a bane on any from of boon-bunkers. I also like the faster weapon swap, because I usually do that often to properly stunlock targets.
You used the word player. Warriors fine vs one player but when up against multiple players the warrior drops within seconds while every other class has survivability 10x better than the warrior.
This isn’t true.
A warrior with soldier amulet is capable to hold on 2 people easily, obviously with the right selection of traits. 30 points in defense and Mace+Shield is capable to give quite a good survivability in groups, not less then any other profession in this game.Plus, I’ll never stop saying how good Earthshaker is. People should use it more often.
Mending and shake it off won’t help you against a good condition engy. They will eat you alive. I don’t think you ran into one, yet.
Destruction of the empowered against boon classes? Did you read any of the discussions regarding it after it was added?
It can’t even break through protection. Try it on a good bunker guardian and see if it helps you when they boon up. You will still get destroyed if you are on them.
It is a TERRIBLE ability..look at what the thieve’s got..boon ripping on a weapon skill with zero cooldown AND they evade while doing the 1st portion of it

And you are happy with increased damage that can’t even break through protecition with ALL the guardian boons up? Imagine how much damage it will do against eles …not much..and you will have increased damage from retaliation as well
The way to combat boons is not to increase damage -since it is still negated by protection- but to rip the boons off. A necro can destroy a good guardian but you can’t. I encourage people to try these ‘amazing’ traits against good players before judging.

Yea. We can’t kill people fast enough and reset the fight at will. We need a serious buff from Anet so our class can carry us more =(.

I’m not sure a condition warrior would be the best way to go compared to Engys. I think that is why there aren’t a lot of replies to this as it has been discussed a few times.
The problem is you don’t apply different types of conditions but just a few. The fewer the types of conditions, the easier they are to cleanse -regardless of stack-. I think that is where the warrior falls short. For example, a thief stealthing once can remove any bleed stack they have on them.
Also, you will have to be trying to close gaps to land attacks with your swords. All other classes don’t need to or don’t have a problem doing that.
Try it out but remember that other classes can easily outmatch you in condition builds. Engys mostly and Necros 2ndly.
You don’t have any kind of get out of jail card in your build. Not sure how you will deal with spike damage.
Runes of Lyssa are nice but the boons are every 60 seconds for 5 seconds. Smart players will just wait it out. You can always use that extra stability for stomping or the protection for when your focused etc. Just remember it is highly situation and is available briefly every 60 seconds.

It’s an interesting builds but there are a few points:
The sigils are conflicting
You have no resistance against conditions and thus can be kited easily. You will have a tough time against necros -as you mentioned- and rangers.
You won’t survive damage spikes well..doesn’t have to be against a bunker
New mechanics or changes that might be helpful
New Healing mechanic:
Healing per damage done. 1% of damage done to targets converted to healing no your self/group then take it from there to achieve a good balance.
This way you utilize the warriors dps into something useful and help us last against condition classes.
new condition removal mechanic:
Either introduce it via trait or through one of the warrior forms suggested. OP you say? Nope..thieves remove conditions passively WHILE stealthed as well. All the other classes don’t care much about the 3 snares: Cripple/chill/immobilize because their main valid specs are either ranged or can teleport out if it/teleport/stealth to the target. We technically have 3 extra conditions that other classes don’t suffer from as much. We need better condition removal than a thief.
Suggestion By Daecollo:

Each time you get a bar of adrenaline, you convert one condition into a boon.
Introduce gap closing mechanic:
Thieves have shadow step with no cooldown on their sword though they don’t need it with the stealth mechanic and 25% movement speed. The least that can be done is give us a fast gap closer on all melee weapons. The buggy GS 5 won’t do. It is very slow, can be interrupted or dodged. It is also buggy. Give us a ground target AOE gap closer like shadowstep. Introduce pulls such as scorpion wire.
introduce 3rd or ranged weapon set:
Eles have 4 and Engys have up to 4. This won’t be a game breaking mechanic and will increased the skill cap for the class and make it more versatile.
Stealth Detection:
Pulse AOE stealth detection. Worked for reavers in DAOC.
This will make warriors popular and sought after in groups in WvW and sPvP.
Hey if a thief needs stealth on top of sword 2 shadowstep, regular shadowstep, steal, shortbow shadowstep, heartseeker leaps to close a gap to their target..I’m afraid they have to get used to less handicaps on their class. If a thief needs to stealth repeatedly during a fight to win>>>they are relying on a crutch and should not be rewarded.
It would also fix problems such as group stealth as the thief is going down..invisible for 15 seconds when downed..really? You go around whacking the air hoping to catch them?
Stealth stomping will be solved
Stealth rezzing will be solved
No more resetting of fights repeatedly by bad players. You go in, you can’t win, you pay the price. That is how pvp works. Any class should not have multiple Reset buttons in pvp.
Introduce Warrior forms:
Being Able to switch forms during combat helps with increasing complexity to class and rewarding skilled play.
Suggestions off the top of my head for forms:
Will revitalize the class increasing its player base.
Form X: increasing all damage dealt and reducing all damage received by X%.
Form Y: increasing all condition damage dealt and reducing all condition damage received by X%.
Form Z: Helpful for ranged or helpful for being mobile.
Or just defensive form, offensive form, mobile form.
Add useful reactive buffs: Stability or protection:
We need protection. Toughness/vitality melts against burst dps/condi as opposed to protection. Eles, guardians and rangers are more tanky than us. Don’t be afraid to balance the scales.
New Debuffs:

All the bursts excluding axe and sword should be changed. GS burst is a useless.

GS:
GS 5 should be a bulls charge. Many other classes have way better cc-weapon abilities and we desperately need a non-buggy gap closer. GS 5 is so buggy that replacing it with a bulls charge should fix the problem.
GS4 should pull you to your main target if it hits. If people are too slow to dodge something that obvious then they should have a gap closed on them. No more comfortable mindless kiting as a mesmer/necro/ranger etc without bothering to use your endurance to dodge a warrior at a distance. This would be superior to the well intentioned but not so useful Dogged march. It would also increase the depth of play of a warrior. This can be added to other weapons as well.
Change some traits:
By Daecollo: Combine “Missile Deflection” and “Shield Mastery” into a single trait. Just call that “Shield Mastery” and move that down.

-Regarding having more weapon sets available on demand like eles/engys:
Sure we all want our weapon skills to be viable but that shouldn’t prevent the ability to use a 3rd and 4th weapon sets like Eles and Engys to increase the depth of play. Those are two separate issues.
-Regarding the AOE stealth: They didn’t change or fix stealth since launch even though it goes against their stated philosophy for a stealth class. What you suggested is good but it should be mentioned on another thread or on the spvp forums. They can do that on their own time but for the time being we want AOE stealth detection to make us useful in group settings.
-Warrior forms: Yep it could be replacing burst skills. Burst skills are just one ability on your weapon. Forms, However, Give much more depth and potential to the class not to mention make it fun to play. Just a suggestion.
- The following is a Long reply about GS -just because of some misconceptions I keep coming across-:*
-GS in general GS is used for mobility/mobile strikes on 3 and 5. Also, GS3 gives you immunity which is very helpful in dodging bursts and complimenting an incomplete 100b.
-Regarding GS5: We can still have bull’s charge as a utility skill as well as a weapon skill. Adding a cripple to GS 5 is useless. Cripples are crap. GS 5 has to have a knockown/immobilize and I favor immob as most people have a harder time getting out of it than a knockdown. It HAS to be fast as a bull’s charge or it will remain crap and won’t land. We need to close gaps faster not take a stroll to the target.
Thieves have shadowstep -which is far superior to bulls charge- on their sword and as a utility skill –zero cooldown on the sword- so why can’t we have the same for bulls?
Engys have block on both their shield and toolkit which is basically a weapon skill via a utility skill.
Mesmers have teleports both on their staff weapon skill and as a utility skill.
Same goes for guardian weapon skills
I encourage everyone to check what the other classes can do before shooting down suggested changes. Trust me..other classes have it WAY better than us even with the changes suggested in this thread.
-Regarding GS 2 and 4:
I disagree with you as GS4 being used as a blocking ability. I usually use Axe 3 and GS4 to use ranged damage to finish someone off if I am pure melee or to pressure someone who is downed while kiting a 2nd person –along with GS3 through the downed person when it is up-. You can also use GS4 followed by GS5 as combo. I honestly favor GS4 pulling your target to you or you towards your target. I don’t think many people switch to GS to block.
You only 100b a target that is immobilized or one that is forced to go through it. Even then, you will still use GS 3 before 100b finishes to squeeze in some extra damage.
You only 100b:
after bolas
After Sword Adrenaline bar 3 burst
After Mace/sigil of paralysation burst
And if you see your target is gonna get away before 100b finishes, use GS3 to squeeze in that extra damage. 100b on a mobile target is asking to be kittened up.
100b is bad if you are facing more than one target due to the fact that it holds you in place for 3.5 seconds if you want to dikitten out unless you move then you lose the 100b. I also can’t count the number of times I’ve see a warrior using 100b on me and instead of dodging I frenzy or pop endure pain and use a 100b on them killing them that way. It just leaves you to open to being screwed over when you are already vulnerable to many things. Given the long cast time, you can easily be interrupted as well. Compare that to a mesmers sword 2 which gives them 2 seconds of immunity to damage/cc/anything while doing it.

guardian have better selfheal and better dmg ( burn, retalation and the normal hits)
he has too much protection vs a warrior who hits with normal power skills.the warrior only have normal hits to attack and not realy good boons to save yourself.
if you have shoutheal you stay a bit longer but deal nearly no dmg ^^.so the warrior only can beat a guardian who is playing glascannon. good played guard will win vs warriors.
Guardians are easy to kill..keep them at distance at all times,let them waste their buffs,dont go randomly hitting them and waste your skills,while they have protection,retalliation etc etc on them.Keep pinning them down( immobi,cripp ) and let their buffs wear out…and again KEEP THEM AT DISTANCE… And they are yours.Range is your friend vs guardians,do not let them come close and they won’t stand a chance.
Most Guardians will go full on you when they have all their buffs,but back down when they wear out..at this time,you jump in and strike them hard.Make sure you do not waste any of your knockdowns,stunns while they are buffed..Save them for when he’s vulnerable.
Keep a bunker guardian at a distance? As in let them sit on a node? Isn’t that how they win?
So our options are to melee, killing our selves

Use weak kitten range and have them clear your 1-2 conditions

The moderation on these forums is totally and completely biased. Stupid troll comments and incorrect responses stay at the top of the page for weeks and when you call these lies out you get heavily moderated.
Now some corrupt mod probably one of the trolls that frequents the warrior forums with L2p comments, that would be too op or my personal favorite the tooltip quoter gets warrior posts moved from the actual warrior forums.
I understand it doesn’t make the game you work for or play and abuse the overpowered classes fun when people bring the truth out from under the blanket of lies you create.
Don’t say L2p just say: I think you might benefit from trying other specs or tactics.
They can’t balance the pvp and you want them to add abilities affecting players directly? Hell they allowed consumables to make cash off of them in WvW and created even worse imbalance.
Go with two guardians of a supportish type. Instant win. That class is so OP that having both of them is ridiculous. The downed system further helps bad players so with two guardians having instant knockbacks when rezzing it’s even better.
1 guardian isn’t enough against smart organized groups as they will boon rip him and focus him down fast.
Support:
Between the two guardians there are:
6 blocks/mini retaliations, 2 Hots/condition removal, 4 burns
For each guardian: Blocking while healing, lol..
Area denial so no one can get away: circle of warding..two of them
3 seconds of immunity each on their elite
Melees just can’t touch them coz of the retal,dmg from guardian +regen/protection/stability
for their group aside from the rezzing:
HoTs, Burns, Aegises etc
Or settle for a support ele.
You can sub in a support ele for the boons and heals (superior to guardians in heals if specced/geared right). You have to have a good ele who is geared in cleric to do that, though. Better off getting a guardian that doesn’t require a lot of skill to play so easier to find that kinda player base.
All the successful 5mans I see take the easy mode which is two guardians. Hey..if a class carries you..why not roll it twice.
Debuffs:
1 necro for boon ripping off guardian/ele/bunker engy targets in order to focus them down hard. Necro will have a hard time disengaging, though, so you gotta babysit them when the zerg runs towards you. They will also be the 1st to be focused since they have few get out of jail cards.

Shatter mesmer or good dps wars if you can find one. Both are effective when hitting distracted/CCed targets.
Two shatter mesmers on top of the two guardians. 4 OP players ftw. Multiple phantasms, clones etc with two shatters happening at the same time? Good luck pinning one with two guardians buffing them, CCing and circle warding you.
The pvp balance in this game is a joke so you either abuse it or play another game. It’s even sadder that people who get carried by their class think it’s skill.
Honestly if you have two guardians you can do whatever setup you want as they will carry the group easily. Between the two OP guardians, there are just way too many heals/blocks etc.

What if I told you, the Stealth Trap is designed to nerf mesmer portals.
That’s weird..I thought it was a way of making money off of their broken stealth mechanics..hmm..
Easiest way to counter stealth is to roll a thief. Everyone is doing it.
Might as well have your class carry you till the next new mmo comes out.

and here i thought that anet designed destruction of the empowered and might signets to be an anti-guardian mechanism. and punishing guardians for their class mechanism.. “boonspam”… with the possibility to buff guards if the “mechanism” is too strong!! lol.
You only destroy your self faster on their retal with DOE. What kind of melee class are we if we run away from the only other melee class in the game which is a support one lol.
Between two guardians you get 6 aegises/blocks/4burns/2 small heals
Immune for 3 seconds when using elite
Blocking WHILE healing which you can not interrupt unless your another guardian
Circle of warding on their hammer that beats any cc on our hammer and cant be blocked and can trap targets which WE desperately need.
The guardian class – like the rest of the holy trinity:mesmer and thieves- is a joke.
The balance in this game since launch is a bad joke in the mmo community.
The devs need to grow some balls and balance the classes. They shouldn’t worry about pvpers leaving..the majority left and continues to leave. They have access to the stats to prove it, I’m sure.

This ability is crap. It only lets throw 3single attacks within the next 10sec.
It doesn’t interrupt blocking if you use a hammer for example..
A guardian’s WEAPON skills line of warding or circle of warding do interrupt blocking
This was mentioned since it was introduced but the devs are too busy advertising for ‘esport’ on the forums/twitter to introduce meaningful class fixes.
Where’s the group support? (FGJ?) Thief can do the same with a 10 point trait investment. Ele/engy/even ranger waterfield offers much better support.
Where’s your mobility? As a roamer spec you need mobility, this spec has less mobility than a BM ranger. If you’re purely teamfighter spec, what do you have to offer that an HGH engy or ele can’t?
How do you mitigate damage and deal with teamfocus? Do you rely on fear me as a defensive tool? What happens if people have stability. What about pressure from ranged or condi specs. How do you deal with getting CC’d/immobilized?
I guess your main burst is lbow F1+lbow 3, pop two shouts and swap to eviscerate considering your sigil choice. Do you rely purely on mace 5 and lbow 5 hitting to do any damage. Why is that burst more useful than for example mesmer izerker to doubleshatter or thief clusterbombing and swapping to instaspike?
How does your ranged sustained damage compare to mesmer/thief/HGH engy/S&D ele and how does your melee damage/survivability compare to S/D or D/P thief for example.
Why the fury on immobilize if you only have one source of immo and you’re also using FGJ and SoR? How often can you pop your vengeance in tpvp setting?
I’m not really sold by this spec.
Wow, I did not expect to get so much speculation from just giving some simple input on a play style that’s working for me.
I half expected if people were interested, they would try it out.
I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to compare this spec to either. It’s a glass cannon spec definitely, but instead of being a one trick pony glass cannon there are a few other tricks in the book that are somewhat less predictable than bull rush>frenzy>100b.
The point of this build is that you can deal outstanding damage without ever having to enter the fray. This also doesn’t mean that once in the fray you are SoL, Axe/Mace prove to be extremely effective for dealing lots of pressure.
Nah no worries. Players are just frustrated with the warrior class where every other class does anything the warrior does better.

How about /Damage Reduction/ instead?
Warrior are in the highest tier of HP pool and also of armor defense. Giving it a plain 30% damage reduction will make it way too strong. It will be like a free permanent Protection. With Rune of Forge it will have Protection too and it will become unkillable (not considering from conditions though).
Translation: I want to farm warriors in spvp.
Take the HP and armor please..give us protection/regen/aegis or repeated and perma stealth or multiple teleports/stealth get out of jail cards from mesmers or mist form or elixir etc etc.
I doubt even protection would stop warriors from getting stomped.

I really want to make a warrior, I like the idea of being viable melee and ranged, but apparently everyone says they’re just this game’s “easy mode”. I’m fine if they mean that in pve, I mean, it’s pve. But is that what people think about them in wvw or pvp? Are they good in both and do people look down on them still?
I don’t want the class to be like the thief and mesmer, even though I have no problem with them, people complain about them a lot. I understand that every class is hated by at least someone, but still.
I don’t want people to be thinking I’m a noob or something simply because I get bored with all the classes so quick. xD Thanks for the help in advance, by the way.

Lacking of vigor? Pick up warhorn with quick breathing trait and tell me that again.Also engineer constans protection? Should i move to their forum and link what did u just said? They will have nice time talking with you.
Quick breathing trait sucks. It converts the weakest condition into a boon. Say someone is spamming bleeds on you? they get converted to vigor which is already granted by the warhorn..Then they apply bleeds on you again and when its time to use it, same thing. You don’t get protection or stability up because it picks the weakest most spammable conditions.

Quick breathing or warhorn won’t protect you from being focused. You can’t dodge a thief if you don’t see him. Hopping around till you get nailed with a cc won’t help.
We need protection. Most of the classes in the game has easy access to it. Our base toughnes/hp are nothing compared to protection.

Warrior has better condi removal than Necro. Alot of the necro condi remove is actually condi transfer. If you want to transfer conditions, and you are actually blinded by the condition blind you are going to miss. 60s cooldown on Plague Signet to remove blind. Jep totally worth it.
The warrior traits are good. Often you even have choices for some variation.
Charge is probably the best condi removal ingame if traited. You know, up to 4 removed conditions every 12s with one always being immobilize, while converting one of the conditions and granting swiftness?
Sorry to tell you this, but there is nothing which removes that many conditions on such a low cooldown.
And it is AoE.
Protection can be achieved via warhorn aswell.
And of course perma vigor.Of course all of your point are true for the Zerger GS/Axe+Shield, but well, you are a glass cannon then. You should die if something hits you.
The only class that shines in terms of survivability even with Zerger is mesmer, and if we are lucky that will be gone someday aswell.
A zerger ele? Dead in a single burst.

Why should warrior be like Zerger damage and bunker guardian survivability?If you want survivability trait, stat and/or slot for it. Make a more balanced build, and see how your survivability increases.

Yep go tanky and you won’t dps much and get whittled down. You don’t have enough upkeep to keep up with an ele that heals, removs conditions, casts protection,might,regen etc every 9 seconds.
The only chance for a warrior to win against average players is to take them down fast. The longer you stay in the fight, the more apparent your class is inferior to others. Being a tanky warrior serves nothing but help you die eventually and you will never be as good a bunker as other classes.
You forgot to mention that we need to remove chill, cripple and snare while necros are ranged and they do not. There goes have the conditions needed to be removed.
Warhorn? Really? People use it in competitive pvp? No..so why mention it? Shield>>>warhorn in spvp any time. Try it in high end tourneys and tell me how it turns out.

What skill balancing? Mesmers are still OP since launch, guardians are as bunky as ever and warriors are broken.
I have no idea how was it improve that but I always Skill lag after 14/5/2013 update and before Skill lag only happen on my network a few time per day.

Introducing abilities to make you siege more -boring mini gaming- and introducing Asc gear that most people already have won’t stop people leaving or getting bored with the zerg fest that is WvW.
Did introducing knight’s or cleric’s exotics in WvW help entice people to play more? We will still continue to see the WvW community decline.
And PRX were not hardcore pvpers..they were zerglings that got bored from zerging because they did it too much. Zerging doesn’t qualify as pvp.
I dunno but I don’t think you’l survive long with a rifle+axe/mace. You will have a hard time shaking off a half decent thief or warrior. Test it out for a bit in spvp/wvw and see.
Doesn’t make sense to use two weapons with the intention of using both their bursts for damage. The rifle burst is so slow and obvious that average players see it coming a mile away and simply dodge it or interrupt you. Its useful if you combo it with fear or pick off people in a zerg. Axe burst is overall the easiest one to get off with decent damage.
Did you try longbow with another weapon set?

I wonder why they decided to give that to the most bunker class?Because you got the HP pool and the damage.
The warrior hp pool is a joke. Guardians have regen. protection, Aegis and retaliation. That trumps any hp pool you can come up with.
If our Hp pool and damage were better than a guardian..how come you run away from a good GS/hammer guardian when you are a master of weapons and stuff? They also have a heal that blocks at the same time. Guardian survivability is just a joke that needs to be addressed. I dunno when the devs will leave PVE to focus on class balance. Maybe next year.
Survivability in this game is not about numbers. Its about mechanics/boons.
I want to see warrior become more like it was in GW1, a constant stream of DPS that wasn’t as damaging as an assassin but had much more survivability. In GW1 warriors also had access to several good options to mitigate or remove conditions. Currently in GW2 I feel like a thief without stealth, forced to jump in and out of combat because trying to run decent DPS with a bit of survivability just isn’t possible, you’ll find yourself only moderately tougher while taking a huge hit to your DPS, making you a wanna-be guardian.
I would GLADLY take a nerf in the DPS department if in return I got the ability to stay in the fight like a guardian just not as tanky.
If you get a nerf to dps and a buff to survivability youl be a poor version of a guardian minus the group support.
We just need a buff to survivability without a nerf to DPS. Shatter mesmers do the same aoe dps and got way more survivability and utility.
Guardians have decent dps while being tankier than us.
Thieves have better dps than us, 1heartseeker=bolas>frenzy>100b and they can spam it with no cooldown. Obviously way better survivability.
I have no idea why we don’t get a buff to our survivabiltiy, honestly. We need better gap closers as well. I’m tired of being the only class in the game that has to chase its target around.

So let me get this straight..on top of any other class performing better than the warrior..we need a baby sitter to be valid? I dunno..but it sounds like when they removed the healers every class was more or less independent except us.

Every character I have is a Norn, you know how often I use transforms, almost never. To even suggest something that has a 4 minute cooldown is even in the realm of a thief is pure trolling.
So basically you are saying that thieves negate the usefulness of every other race in WvW but, Norn’s? And, that even as a Norn, we all have to give up our Elite’s because of thieves? I think you just proven that Thieves are OP.
The way people in this thread talk, youd think giving up your elite for a “get out of jail free” card is what they want so they can be on par with thieves. How often do you really even run away? Every 4 minutes isnt enough time for you? I barely even use my elite on guardian, switching it to this was just gaining an amazing escape ability that guardian severely lacked at the cost of nothing.
Also, thieves give up everything for their stealths, you cant lose 1 skill to match them? And at no point did I say anything about thieves negating other classes. There are things thieves are good at, and there are things other classes are good at. Have you ever taken a thief and charged an enemy zerg with your zerg? you die super fast. My guardian however can stand there in the middle of the enemy and laugh. My thief can gank dolyaks in the middle of 4 people, my guardian cant. My guardian can give 4 people next to me tons of regen, protection, stability, retaliation, burning on attack, aegis, I can convert tons of conditions on them to boons, remove all of their conditions, block all incoming projectile attacks, heal them, take ridiculous amounts of damage so they dont have to, etc, my thief cant even come close to being that useful in a group fight. Every class has things it can do, and cant do.
TLDR:You guys need to stop QQing about the class that can run away from you, and focus on doing the things your class does, or play something else that does the things you want.
A thief being able to run away no one cares about, not being seen for however long they want and being able to reset the fight anytime they start losing is the problem, as I said before, if thieves had to retreat like any other class that is fine, but fighting the same person who keeps on losing the fight 8+ times in a span of 5 mins is just stupid.
I don’t have a problem with their health, I didn’t have a problem with their dmg before any nerfs, and I don’t really have a problem with stealth, I have a problem with the reset of fights anytime they like, which just happens to be done through stealth in this case.
The solution is simple. The dominating classes : Mesmers,Guardiand and thieves have way too many get out of jail cards. Eles, too.
Limit those and you will balance things.
What are those get out of jail free cards that other classes have that can be spammed in such a way a thief does? Really most interested in the guard as I play one as a main. As for mesmers and ele’s, can be annoying sometimes, but don’t have anywhere near the resets thieves have, I find mesmers and ele’s to be pretty normal in combat.
Mesmers have a teleport on their staff, usually slot abilities to help them go invis, Moa form, Clones that take half the damage, 2sec invulnerability on a 10 sec cooldown on a WEAPON, Throwing down a wall that gives them speed, slows enemies and can be activated to pull someone into it thus pulling them away from the mesmer or interrupting their heal etc.
Guardians: A heal that heals them to full, almost, Retaliation up a lot of the time in certain builds, A heal that blocks..really? Area denial that interrupt blocking targets or can be used to trap a target while they run away and get their heal back on their regular weapons. Aegis that can be spammed 2-3 times in a row.
If you don’t think you haven’t run into OP trinity then you never ran into players who can utilize their broken mechanics to the fullest in high end tourneys or even WvW. Hot joins are useless for gauging what a class is capable of. Have you ever run into two guardians with the proper build/gear/rudimentary knowledge of how to utilize the class? Its not fun seeing 2 guardians spamming boons on each other take on 6 people and live.
Thieves have the best get out of jail cards. I don’t think any Dev in any previous game as introduced a teleport hack (shadowstep/shadowreturn) in a class before! These Devs got kitten enough to push ppl into other games!
The only people who think guardian/mesmer/thief are fine and not OP are the people who play them. They won’t be able to pay Anet enough when the rest of the player base leaves followed by the people who play OP classes.
It happened before in previous games and it will happen again.

I know it probably exists to solve some technical issue or other, but if there’s any other less-fun replacement solution that’s viable, please consider adding it to your todo list.

Why do you buy GW2 only to play a mini smart phone game all day?
Personally, I think having a downed state adds a totally different dimension to the game. It gives you a split second chance to turn the tide of the battle.
People can try to banner ress their mates, they can attempt to kill someone quickly to rally their team mate. It allows battles to ebb and flow, introducing sudden changes that can make it interesting and challenging.
I won’t see it as promoting zerging but rather at promoting organized play.
A whole different dimension that nobody likes except casuals. Kinda like underwater fighting..that’s a whole new dimension for you..look how much people like it. The only dimension I see the downed state/AOE limit zerg friendly mechanics is a dimension called ESO.
Every time I engage in a fight in WvW with no zerg in sight (same connection speed, same everything since before when everything was normal- I keep freezing one second exactly in the middle of a fight which in most fights is enough to get you killed or force you to run.
Anyone having these problems since the last patch?
